"Exactly right. And cards are part of something that some call the D-arc or the DMR. They're things that let you use abilities from other digimon in a small data packet. They have short term use but can be reused if given enough time. They take some getting used to but they can supplement your own abilities in various fashions."
The shutmon stretched a little bit and drew out a small stick of data in the form of a memory cartridge. On it was the effect of the card 'Regenerate' which would hopefully explain to the others what she meant. She'd dip her head in a small nod of course when roy spoke of the D-reapers.
"Something that not many can handle on their own or in a group. Preparation against them is a must. We have a specialist in pocket regarding them and hopefully you can meet them in a situation that isn't stressful."
K grinned a little bit and the shutmon continued forward along the patrol glad to hear that the other's would finish the current thing they were on. It would be silly if she just whisked them away in the middle of the night to vander tower.
"Shouldn't really be that hard honestly. Most of them are just sort of firmly re-iterating city laws but there's a few that aren't in there."
There was a small shrug and she'd continue checking windows, balconies and such. Even going so far as to hop up over a roof to sort of check what just ended up being someone snoozing on their home in the middle of the night! Shaking her head she'd hop back down and scratch at her muzzle thoughtfully.
"With any luck it won't be much of a problem..."

So many tools and rules to remember, yet, Roy and Rex paid attention. Both of them wanted to be strong, to be forces for good in this world. They saw none of that opportunity back home on El Doradimon, yet here... they were beginning to see paths open up in front of them. They looked at the 'Regenerator' cartridge that K showed them.
"Ohh, a healing ability" Rex stated, recognizing the text. "So... these can give us abilities we'd otherwise not have access to?" he summarized. He then turned to Roy. "We've gotta get a D-MR!" he concluded.
"There's a lot of things we have to get, brother" Roy answered. "But the most important one is experience. Remember us the other week? Acting as security guards for the inn? We could hardly do anything there. We need to get stronger" he then looked up at K. "We can do good work at Vander Tower, we promise" the Veemon stated.
"Just as soon as this patrol's finished, we can go there" Rex added eagerly. Hopefully that time would come soon. By now the twins were both tired and excited at the same time.

K herself seemed rather pleased with how the two were taking all this information. Bobbing her head in a nod that was quickly followed with a wide grin. There were so many 'cards' that they could get and even if they got 'repeats' of the same they could honestly use them or trade them away for something else. It was after all quite a nice system, if not a little... odd?
"That's right! They are quite useful, always something you can do with them or the like~"
The shutmon would flick her ears at hearing that they had acted as security guards for an inn. Something about getting stronger and then the promise of them doing good work at vander tower. She'd turn to glance back towards where the tower was and find her grin returning rather lopsidedly.
"Willing to grow, willing to learn, willing to just do. Something a lot of people aren't, I expect that you'll fit in just fine."
K would chuckle softly and nod her head at the idea fo them going to vander tower when the patrol was finished. Thankfully it wasn't going to be too much longer right? The vestiges of the sun started to creep over on the horizon.. which if they followed suit would eventually lead them back to the center of town.
"Oh! Well if the both of you are joining I'll have to give you home portal chips. It'll let you get into vander tower from anywhere in the digital world."
The shutmon didn't really have much of a reason to always carry extras of those on her. They were expensive and she didn't want to really risk them getting damaged. She scratched at her leather armor with a small huff as she distinctly remembered how cross that particular individual had been at her when she broke one of the chips by accident.
"One last thing of course before our patrol finishes though."
The shutmon would squat down, looking quietly at the two of them. She seemed rather serious rather quickly. But it hopefully wouldn't be too much of a surprise for the both of them. Switching gears of course was important.
"There will be a lot of dangers ahead, but I'm confident that the both of you will be able to work through it and grow. But please, take what I said earlier to heart. Don't be afraid to run if you need to. Knights or not, we do no one favors by being dead."

Roy and Rex began to grin as they thought of the possibilities of what they could use with the D-MR. Especially in that both of them were adept at fire techniques, but were a little weak in other areas. However, if they had such a device, they would be able to surprise their opponents probably by using this item to expand their current arsenal of attacks. Yes... it all made sense to them now!
The Veemon and Guilmon were a little surprised to see the light of dawn so quickly. Had their patrol really lasted this long? It honestly didn't feel like that to them.
Then K would give them home portal chips. The dragon brothers blinked at them for a moment, then realized how valuable they were when the Shutmon explained. Apparently that would be their most efficient means of entering Vander Tower. The significance was not lost on them, that meant that K now trusted them. And they would aim to hold that trust as a precious commodity that they would not soon break.
Almost as their patrol ended, K would turn and look at them directly. Roy and Rex remained silent and still as they looked back into her eyes and listened to her words. She would ask of them to know when to run rather than to fight. They understood. Knights that fled when overwhelmed were better than dead knights, that lesson they could understand.
"Of course, we'll do that, K" Roy promised, and Rex nodded too.
Well then, it seemed that their patrol was almost over. The twins had learned much that night. And they hoped that upon reaching the Vander Tower they would be able to help out as Knights of the Rose.
