Kazuya eyes were looking at ground, they were filled with regret and shame. He couldn't bare to look Tsukiko's in the eye, how could he face her beautiful blue eyes ? What said was right, or atleast the tone that followed her words was. The distant loner man that pushed her away was still the same, he has not changed a bit. He remained an idiot and Kazuya was ready to hear the full extent of her lecture, but the fight drew their attention more than the matter at hand. He tried to turn his head to face here but failed to do that. "I know that I was wrong, I can see why I should have asked more questions about Royland's past." He said, his golden stare still focused on the ground beneath him. To admit he was wrong about something fundemental to his way of life was challenging for the prideful man, but even cannot deny the facts. And the facts were that his selfishness ended up comprimising the feelings of Roy, if he talked with him about his past maybe Royland would have been better prepared for this.
But thinking about what would have been is ultimately counter productive, what is happening now and is more important that what if scenarios, is the fact that Royland is clearly the better fighter. He was simply the better fighter, his moves were more percise and focused. He countered every attack Argus could come up with, he was truly always a couple of steps ahead. This put a smile on the raven haired man's face, he felt relieved. "See ? Told you, there was nothing to worry about Roy's got this. So me not asking him was not so bad after all. " Was Kazuya trying to make it so he did not do wrong ? Probably the raven haired gentleman was stubborn and finding out a way to justify his loner life, was something worth doing in his eyes.
But then the fight reached its conclusion, Roy was the clear victor its all over now. Royland's sad face was clear for everyone, this made Kazuya clinch his fist and grit his teeth. He wanted to treat Royland and become his best friend, but he could not bring himself to say something, to say the right thing. Before he knew it Tsukiko grabbed him by his shirt, it was at this moment that their eyes locked in a long time. The nostalgic feel of her welcoming blue eyes, the same beautuful eyes that used to invite him to a warm special place where he could be at ease with himself. This was not the case this time, Tsukiko eyes did not look at him with love anymore, this time they were angry at him. And why wouldn't she be ? This is the man who is so selfish that he hurt her and convinced himself its for her sake, choosing to run from himself and her like a coward. The woman began to scold him on what he had done to his partner.
"ALRIGHT ENOUGH! I am not gonna sit here and let you say all that, didn't you what I said woman ? I talked him and he refused to talk about it. Alright thats it, what more could I have done ? Not everyone appreciates nosy people like you, so why don't you just back off Tsuki." Kazuya said as his emotions went wild, the tone of his voice was heavy and commanding. His brow furrowed, as his yellow gaze was not warm and alluring like usual, instead they were wrathful and filled with wild rage, rage that should have been aimed at himself but instead was aimed at the blue eyed girl.
Kazuya then saw Argus's attack coming and almost instictively moved Tsukiko out of the way and take the full attack on himself, this proved to be a good thing, as the gold eyed man found himself on the ground the next moment. He clutched his shoulder as he moaned in pain, he was not a doctor but even he could tell how bad this injury can be. But amongst his scatter thoughts two were prominent, first thing was that he was happy Tsuki is safe. Second was that he blamed himself for everything that happened tonight, because if he was careful none of this would have happened.
"Yeah, I am fine. Thanks for Tsuki, but how about you ? Are you hurt in any way ? UGH." he grunted as he tried to get back up. Soon Kazuya was sitting on the ground, his hand over his shoulder and his head to the ground, he was ashamed of his actions but he struggled to find the right way to phrase it. "Listen uhh, Tsukiko I am sorry. I did not mean to yell, I had no right." He said, the tone of his voice was chilling and somber the look of his brilliant eyes were gone, now replaced by a gaze of a man unsure of his life. He then lifted his head up and said "But looks like its over, we won. Argus is defeated and triumph is on our side today. I am just happy we are all safe."
Even though Kazuya claimed that they were triumphent the look on Royland's face tells a different story, as the armored Lion was on his knees. His arms dangling by his side, tears flow through his eyes. This was not the first time he killed a digimon, but this was the first time it hurted his core. The feeling was weird and undescribable, but it was not triumphent at all. "Why, why did it have to be like this ? I do not understand, I dont want to understand. I just want to reverse time and right my wrongs, why must this cruel world torture us ?" Roy said in a melancholic and painful way as he saw Argus fade away and drop the digimental, his demanour was different. Royland was not the same knight that looked on the horizon with a smile, the one who loved the world for its beauty. Unfortunately Kazuya was unable to reach his partner, as his mobility was limited thanks to the intense pain he is feeling right now.

With all of this going on, Kazuya’s words couldn’t really reach Tsukiko until she was sitting on the ground after the golden-eyed had received that blast from Argus. She still crawled towards him to ask him about his status. It seemed like it had been a hard shot, part of his shirt getting teared up around the shoulder area. “I am okay. It didn’t get me or anything.” Mitsuharu was standing next to his tamer, confirming she was in fact with no scratch. “But that doesn’t look good at all, I think we should take you to a hospital, Kazu-chan."
The girl’s eyes then widened, as she processes everything the man had said to her when he mentioned him being sorry. Even when it hurt, and it hurt a lot, that only proved that the man had been going through a hard time, feeling unable to reach Royland, while he tried to face his past. “N-No…” She shook her head, slowly. “I shouldn’t have said all of those things. I wasn’t really thinking.” She wasn’t. Everything had just come out of here with no filter, due to the frustration of seeing Royland like that, without really consider Kazuya’s feelings about it. She knew what she did was wrong, but she couldn’t help but feel sore after hearing those words coming from her former lover. Why? Why did it hurt? She shouldn’t care about what Kazuya had to say! It wasn’t supposed to work like that. But somehow, she did care, and that made her angry at herself. This all was shadowed by the scene developing in front of them. The digimental was back, the threat they were facing was gone, but no sensation of victory could be found. Only defeat and sorrow could be felt through the environment. The silence was enervating, Tsukiko felt frustrated, unable to say anything to the light warrior who had saved everyone’s life. What could she say, really? Could she really put herself in his place to even start to understand how he felt? No, that was impossible. The things Royland had gone through were probably impossible to replicate to any other living being, and that made it even harder to get close to him and say any kind of words. Some seconds passed, while both Kazuya and Tsukiko held their gaze down, while Royland mourned his loss, as tears fell through his eyes, sprinkling on the ground, right in front of the digimental Tsukiko had stolen before. The frustration of feeling how all of this could have been avoided if she hadn’t stolen that item was consuming her, almost making her lose her mind. Then, as a slowly drop falling on a sink, Mitsuharu’s steps raised her attention, making her open her eyes widely, and stare at him. He was walking towards Royland. Very close to the kneeled warrior, he stopped, his arms crossed, he had left his blade next to Tsukiko. [You saved me, Sensei, and your human partner. Showing bravery and courage...]“It is not the time for grieving, Royland the Spadamon.” He first said, Tsukiko looking at him astonished. Even though his words were supportive, his tone was authoritative, like he was defying Royland. “You did what you have to do. You saved your partner and saved all of us in the process. Argus’ decisions were made solely by him, and the truth is that his actions would’ve been the same regardless of what you had done. His heart had been rotten by sorrow.” Were those words sort of aimed to Tsukiko too, so she didn’t feel bad for what she had done? “There is no way any of us could have changed the course things took! And even if there was, it makes no sense to mourn over what already happened. You must feel proud of what you have done, you saved your partner’s life. And even Sensei's life, when I was unable to protect her.” The intensity Mitsuharu uttered these words with was overwhelming, there was even a bit of frustration at himself. “You have to look at what you have, and not at what you lost. You still have the opportunity to look for the rest of your past comrades, and get them back, together with your partner.”
[... and yet still, you are mourning the death of that friend who tried to kill you, showing sympathy and respect.]
The Bushi Agumon’s expression was firm, scolding, even. “So raise your gaze already!” He then raised his tone of voice, adding more intensity to his statement, if that was possible. [All of this while I stayed to the side, unable to protect my tamer. Unable to fulfill my duty. I won't allow that to happen ever again. But regardless of that... No, It's exactly because of that; that I must help you stand up in this difficult times.] “I WON’T ALLOW MY RIVAL TO LOOK LIKE THIS. YOU ARE WHO I AM SUPPOSED TO SURPASS, SO DON’T YOU DARE TO LOOK PATHETIC AT A TIME LIKE THIS!” The Samurai's words echoed throughout the forest.
[From now on, Royland the Spadamon, I will dedicate my life to surpass you. I will lose to you never again!]

Kazuya's eyes were hollow and empty, his golden gaze was locked to the ground, he reflected upon the fact that he was unable to do anything for Royland, this made him quite angry at his own foolishness. All the time Royland stood by him and supported him, helping him to become a better person and Kazuya still remained selfish. The anger he felt towards himself was unfathomable as his rage was too wild to be put into words, but hearing that Tsukiko was doing well and is unharmed made him happy, he turned to her with a smile, he then grunted in pain holding his shoulder. "Thats great to hear Tsuki, and you do not to worry about me I a- " he stopped mid sentence to hold his aching shoulder, the pain was intense and he could not bear it, but he had to.
After everything he did, whether its his own guilt for his incompetence today, or the underlying guilt and regret that had been chipping at his soul and mind ever since he broke his relationship with the blue eyed girl. The only thing he had hoped would ease his mind, is that Tsukiko would be better off without him and will find happiness with someone else, while the act of breaking might have been selfish, he really wanted the best for her. "As you can see I am fine, nothing to worry about. So we won't go to the hospital." He said chuckling in a reserved manner, his shoulder was in pain but he did not want to go near a hospital right now for various reasons.
He then looked back at the ground as the girl apologized for what she said earlier, his eyes flicker the gaze was weak and pathetic. He did not want her to apologize because he knew she was right, he needed to change his way of life and maybe had he came to that realization when his father died, instead of running from life alone he could have had her by his side today. But thinking about what could have been will only make things worse, so he stopped and turned towards Tsukiko her beautiful and warm blue stare met his golden brilliant stare, its been a while since the two were physically close like that, it was nostalgic. "No, its me who is wrong. You had every right to say all that and you were right, I should have reached out to Roy. " he said with a weak and plastered on smile, he did not feel like they were the victors.
Royland was on his knees as the tears continued to flow from his eyes, he did not stop, until mitsuharu approached him and stopped him. He began to give him a speech that felt more like scolding than support, but maybe Royland needed both today. His initial thoughts on the BushiAgumon was indifferent, but Mitsuharu did ignore him earlier so who could blame Roy for not liking him earlier ? But now things have changed, as the tears stopped flowing from Roy, he listened intently to Mitsuharu's speech. The words Mitsuharu said touched Roy on an emotional level, he really needed this today and after wiping his tears and ending his sorrow, Roy decided to counter. He grabbed the digimental and grabbed spear and stood up.
He spun his spear to show off his dexterity with it using one hand, but then pointed it at the samurai. "Very well! Mitsuharu, you chose me as your rival, I respect that. I will accept your challenge any day, place or time. But so you know, I WONT LOSE!!!" Roy yelled his life and intensity were now back to him. Everything seemed to slowly get better.

It could only come as impressive for Tsukiko how amazing her digimon partner was. It required a lot of bravery to come in front of someone going through what Royland was going through and say all of those things. During this short time, after seeing what had transpired, Mitsuharu had decided to see Royland as a rival. This probably couldn’t be different. The samurai most likely considered someone who had saved him and his partner had to be recognized as a rival, as a goal to surpass. Could this be related to everything Tsukiko had told him about how Kazuya hurt her feelings and broke her heart in the past? It was very likely this was the case. The possibility of Mitsuharu fueling up these feelings with everything his tamer had said was high.
Incredibly moved by the bravery showed at this scene, Tsukiko just stared at the pair of digimon, very close to Kazuya. Regret, bravery, courage, love; she had seen digimon display all of this in just one night. All of the human’s very intense feelings could be seen in display inside of these creatures’ hearts. Where did they come from? How could they be in contact with such deep emotions? So many mysteries regarding digimon were still to be unfolded, and she wanted to discover each and every one of them.
The girl’s blue eyes shifted back into the man sitting next to her, only to find his own set of eyes looking at her. Tsukiko was immediately startled by the closeness that had formed between her and Kazuya, and immediately moved back a little. It definitely had been a while since they had been that near to each other, so unavoidably a light pink color appeared in the blue-eyed’s cheeks, matching perfectly with her hair. “I guess you can… work on that.” She simply muttered, still shyly, referring to Royland and how Kazuya was trying to get close to him.
The topic about Kazuya’s arm was not even close to being off the table. “You are not fine! I can tell your arm is sore.” The timid expression had left Tsukiko’s countenance, and now she was scolding Kazuya too. “That thing didn’t get you directly, but still, it's not looking good.” The girl mused, taking a better look at the wound. “It’s probably nothing too serious, but you should have it checked anyways.” She then stood up, and dusted herself up. “This is an order! Unless you prefer me taking care of it myself!” A defying tone had taken over Tsukiko’s voice again. Even when she was using that as a deterring threat to make him go see a doctor, she was actually very capable of taking care of that wound herself, or so she thought. Plus, that probably would let her ask Kazuya a lot more about digimon and this Digital World, how did his connection with them start and what could she expect to come her way from now on.
Meanwhile, Mitsuharu exchanged stares with Royland for a second, after hearing his words. Was surpassing this warrior going to be an easy task? Definitely not, but he kept his ideals about doing it, and he wasn’t going to let those go. He was going to defeat Royland the Spadamon one day, and prove he has worth of calling himself a warrior.
“I see…” The Bushi Agumon managed. “Then I’ll be waiting for you to recover from this. And you should wait for me to be ready for this clash.” Mitsuharu’s tone of voice was dead serious. “For the time being, we should get out of here. Your human partner is not looking in good shape right now. It has been a long day, and we need to rest.” That was probably a darn good suggestion, to be fair.

smiled as he looked at mitsuharu with a satisfied smile, when he failed to be there for his friend and partner, the small samurai managed to fulfil his role and cheer up the lion knight. He quietly scoffed as the raven haired man made a promise to himself, from this day on he would be a better friend to Royland, he will be there to support him through his pain and grief. And he will be there to share the laughter during the joyous and better times, it may have been an obvious thing to do, but it sadly took Kazuya a lot of the time to really appreciate the things Roy brought to his lonely life. Things Kazuya would never take for granted, not after what happened today.
This day was a day to remember alongside the night of the forest of illusion, this was one of the few times Kazuya witnessed digimon motivated by human desires, Void was a victim of his own twisted lust for power. Argus sought vengeance about the human race, as he was too focused on its negative sides he could not see them as anything more than just a vile disease that will soon infect the digital world. Those two helped him understand the depth behind those creatures, they were more than just one dimensional creatures before, but now he saw them as a fascinating beings with individual autonomy.
When Tsukiko moved back from him, Kazuya noticed her light pink blush. It matched her pink hair and complimented her blue gorgeous eyes, for a moment there Kazuya was simply speechless as he felt his heart skip a beat, even after all those years Tsukiko's radiant beauty left the golden eyed man weak. He struggled to comprehend the inner working of his feelings, his heart. He felt for her, yet he separated from her. Kazuya scoffed at her shy response, he looked at the ground beneath him for a second before looking up for a second. "Yeah I will do that." This was quite honestly a sensitive topic for Kazuya to be discussing with Tsukiko, thanks to what transpired between them some years ago.
Kazuya was shocked at Tsukiko expression changing from Timid to Adamant, his golden eyes looked at her with confusion as he did not know what to say "uh, I guess it does hurt." As the blue eyed girl continued to scold him, Kazuya had a surprised face. The scolding continued as Kazuya only listened to Tsukiko, it finally stopped when the girl stood up and dusted herself off. Hearing her offer to take care of it herself, Kazuya could not help but chuckle lightly and delicately closing his eyes for a moment, he looked up at the girl's eyes and wore a smirk on his face. "Well looks like I can't say no to that offer can I? Ok then, I will accept the offer for you to take care of it. I trust you enough, and besides its better than finding a lie to explain what happened to me to get this injury." He said as he struggled but eventually managed to get up on his own two feet clutching his shoulder as he gritted his teeth from the pain.
Roy's face was happy, he regretted a lot of things that happened today but he managed to live through and save his friends. So he managed to continue on without letting grief weigh him down today, he chuckled at Mitsuharu. "Very well then, I will eagerly await that day Mitsuharu." Roy said with a bright smile, he then turned on his holosuit and turned to a golden-haired boy with blue eyes wearing a green hoodie and black pants. He tucked the digimental to his side and rushed to his partners side. "So are we going to lady Tsukiko's house ? If so I will have some explanation to do there, I want all of you to listen to it." He said, his expression was brave as he was ready to face his past. No longer will he run from it.

Trying to leave the nervousness that Kazuya staring at her like that produced behind, Tsukiko then focused on getting everyone to their apartment. It was a good start on the road of leaving everything that had transpired that night in the past. At first, she didn’t suggest the alternative of him staying with her in all seriousness but more like a threat of what could happen if he didn’t go to a hospital. In the end, he had accepted to be taken care by Tsukiko and the pink-haired also decided it was probably for the best. After all, he was right; it would be pretty difficult to find a fulfilling excuse about how he got injured like that so late at night.
“You know how to reach my house already, Mitsuharu?” The blue-eyed asked her partner, frowning. “Or do you rather coming back into your baby form?” “I think I can find it without much trouble, Sensei.” The dinosaur declared, to then add something else. “In any case, I will try to follow the scooter just as I did to get here.”
That being settled and with Royland coming back into baby form to travel with Tsukiko and Kazuya, they headed for the girl’s apartment.
It was a quiet ride. Maybe because of the awkwardness of the whole situation or because of how tired they were after that life-threatening experience. In any case, Tsukiko herself had a lot of explanations to give too, so leaving everything clear was probably for the best, once they got to the apartment, that was.
Kazuya didn’t know this apartment. When they were dating, Tsukiko used to live in an apartment close to college with a roommate. She had moved into the east side of Shibuya after graduating.
Keys in the lock, turning the knob and going inside, Tsukiko made a sign for the duo of guests to feel like at home. Mitsuharu arrived right after, entering through the window of Tsukiko’s room. He had been slowly gaining agility in that form, maybe he was getting used to it.
“You can take a seat.” Tsukiko declared, pointing at the couch in the middle of the living room, after they both took their shoes off. “I’m going to make some tea.” The girl walked into the kitchen, were the raved haired man and Royland could still hear her. “Do you feel like sleeping? Royland said he wanted to explain something so…” She made a pause, taking some seconds to think. “I would like to explain some things myself too, after he’s done with his story.”
After pouring the tea in four different cups, the girl headed towards the living room once again, this time holding a tray and taking a seat on a tatami, after putting it over a small table. “This is Ujicha. Mitsuharu seems to like it a lot, so I hope you enjoy it.” She said, referring to the tea she was serving.
A brief silence ensued. Probably everyone was just reflecting about everything that had transpired during the day. Tsukiko could only imagine how much more would Kazuya and Royland be thinking about when they found out about what she had done. Just then, Tsukiko realized it was very likely they could get angry at her and wanted to leave. They would be in every right to do so, honestly. Taking this into consideration, the blue-eyed decided to leave her own explanation for the last.
“Royland.” Her blue eyes fixed on Kazuya’s partner, the girl broke the silence. “You said you wanted to tell us something, right?” The girl leaned back, taking a deep breath, prepared to listen to every bit of what was coming. “I assume it’s related to Argus and your past. Please, go ahead.”

Kazuya was silent for a moment as he reflected on not only the events of today, but also the events of his past. The conclusions his mind came up where not things he was proud of, but Kazuya decided to sweep things under the rug for now, he was not ready to face himself nor his past, not today but maybe another day. Kazuya was happy that Tsukiko offered to take care of him and his injury, he did not want to go the hospital but the injury hurt, his shoulder movement was too limited and is harder than it should be. So he needed some help, the kind of help his partner Royland couldn't offer due the lack of knowledge about actual human anatomy. So this is the help he needed but could never ask for, so Tsukiko offering it regardless of her true intention was a blessing for the wounded golden eyed man.
"Huh, hey Royland how are you going to go back with us in your holosuit. Tsukiko has a scooter and that only seats two people, so don't you think you should follow us alongside Mitsuharu ?" Kazuya asked Royland as he did not want to force his opinoins on his partner, but the blonde boy shook his head in disagreement with Kazuya. "Well I think it'd be much better if I de-evolve to a small baby form and ride with you two that way, if you guys do not mind of course. " Royland sugesseted as at this point he did not want to leave the side of Kazuya in order to have an ease of mind.
Kazuya nodded and turned towards to Tsukiko and gestured for her to agree to Royland's offer, Kazuya then took out his digivice and regained his digimental and devolved his partner back to his Yukimibotamon stage and tucked him in his pocket. And soon there after the three of them got in the scooter and started to head towards Tsukiko's home a place that a couple of years ago was the same place for the two of them, but that was long ago at the time where they were something together, something great now they are but strangers to each other, perhaps time would rectify that, maybe but no one can know.
The ride to Tsukiko's home was an interesting one, no words were shared as both Kazuya and Royland were in there own little worlds. Kazuya was holding on to Tsukiko through out the ride, he noticed the girl had a familiar, nostalgic and even warm scent. A scent that made him feel at home and safe, a scent that he truly missed from the bottom of his heart, yet he does not regret separating himself from it. He continued to reflect on himself and what kind of man you became, and can he really proud of himself ? These are the questions that plagued Kazuya's mind and made him silent throughout the duration of the trip.
Royland however was reflecting on his past life, on the battle against evil he and his crew did. At the lives lost, and lives saved. At whether or not it had any value on the world, he shook away these doubts quick and focused on the more pressing issue, the revived members of his mercenary band and their goals. He wondered why are they all going against their original mission in saving the world. This bothered the young digimon as try as he may, he could not come up with something as simple as a wild guess, he could not fathom any thing. On his core he was feeling a bit weak and even a bit scared, but he will no longer run away from his past and will face it head on.
The two of them then waited for Tsukiko to open the door and once she did and Kazuya entered the house and took of his shoes, Royland got out of his pocket and evolved back to Rookie, he turned towards Tsukiko and gave her a dignified bow "Thank you a lot for your hospitality lady Tsukiko." Roy's wore a bright smile on his face.
Kazuya shook his head " No, I can stay awake for a little more. I will hear Royland's story, and even yours. But thanks for looking out for me. " Kazuya said as he took a seat in the couch, the two of them waited in silence as moments later Tsukiko brought the tea.
"Thanks, I love Ujicha tea. And I am sure you will too Royland" kazuya said as he took a sip from his tea, Roy nodded and began to drink his tea. "WOW! this is amazing, thank you a lot lady Tsukiko." Royland said with stars in his eyes as he enjoyed his tea.
The next moments were filled with silence, no one said anything. The room main sound was the sound of tea cups being placed on the table, this was a good time to reflect on the long night. The battle was long and tiring, so this was a great blessing for the moment.
Royland took a deep breath as Tsukiko approached him, this was the moment Royland would finally tell his partner the truth about his past. "Yes I want to tell you guys about the truth of my relation with Argus and my past , its going to be a long one." After repositioning himself in the chair Roy was ready to tell them the truth.
"First I need to tell you about us digimon, when we supposedly die and are destroyed the remainder of our data the stuff that we are made of, gets transported to main system at a place in the digital world called village of beginnings. This always happens unless you are absorbed by another digimon, you see when a digimon dies its data becomes weak and absorbable by anyone, this grants the one absorbing the other digimon alot of power, but its a cruel act." Royland paused for a moment before continuing with his explanation.
"This is how I have a previous life, and in that previous life I was in a mercenary group, in that mercenary group I was loved and I loved them, they were my family. And in that family I had a student, he was a bright digimon. He was Argus, he had a righteous heart and fought for the greater good. But you saw what happened to him, but the thing is. I found out that not only him but everyone is back and they are working together. I want to find them, and ask them why ? Why are they fighting for the wrong cause, so I need your help to stop my previous family from making a mistake, and save them from the fate of Argus my student. So please help me, I need your help" Royland said as he bowed to everyone.
Kazuya smiled at Roy and patted him on the back. "I got your back friend, I will promise to help you no matter what happens. " Kazuya said to reassure his partner, he then turned towards Tsukiko "ok so what do you want to say to us Tsu-Chan."

After hearing him thank her for her hospitality, she just stood there, blinking at the white pelted creature.Tsukiko was a little startled by his amiability, again. “S-Sure. Don’t worry.” The level of politeness this digimon bestowed was even greater than Kazuya’s. Could it be this was something coming essentially from him and not a trait learned from his tamer? One thing was for sure: Tsukiko was having trouble to take her blue eyes off that baby form (He looked so cute!) so it was a bit of a relief that he was back at being a Spadamon.
“I understand.” She replied to Kazuya’s desire to stay awake to hear what they had to say, a deadpan on her face. “Just let me know if you feel too tired or anything. I don’t have an extra bed so… I hope you don’t mind sleeping on the couch.” The girl clarified as she sipped more of her tea.
After this, she and Mitsuharu just listened closely to Royland’s story. Aside from showing a lot from the digimon’s past; it brought very important information to the table for both the girl and the samurai. “You did mention something about reincarnation, didn’t you, Mitsuharu?” Her eyes shifted for a minute towards her partner, who was drinking his tea, sitting next to the window. “Yes, that’s right. I just knew a little about the concept, but that’s definitely new information for me too.” He clarified.
Everything about Royland’s words sounded truthful, honest. It was definitely different from Argus’ story, which was full of oddities and had a very gloomy feeling around the whole tale. This was definitely the truth, and Tsukiko could feel it.
What was next, was definitely not easy for her. Royland had saved them, that couldn’t be argued. He had saved them even after everything they had done to both him and Kazuya. And even when he didn’t know about their wrongs, somehow, Tsukiko could feel like he had done the same even if he did. He was a special digimon, no doubt. A righteous and brave one. Nevertheless…
“I appreciate you telling us all of this, Royland.” Tsukiko brought the silence on her end after the story was finished. “It really helps me and Mitsuharu understand better everything that happened, even when there are still multiple questions fluttering around you don't even have an answer to.” Her voice was calm. Cold, even. “I am sure you will find many other enemies in your trip towards the truth.” It would be naïve to think otherwise.
“And to show our gratitude towards your actions tonight, Mitsuharu and I are willing to help you in one of your quests.” The girl raised her index finger, remarking the importance of this number. “Only once.” She clarified, once again. “Once we are ready, we will fight at your side once, just to return the favor. However, we won’t be your allies during this whole endeavor.” She tried to maintain her firm, serious tone of voice during her speech. Of course she wanted to help Royland, but her partner had recognized him as his rival. Making Mitsuharu a sidekick, living on Royland's shadow, would only damage his pride. This, of course, was the lesser of the two reasons, being the most important that Tsukiko wouldn’t be able to stand spending any more time with Kazuya after tonight.
“T-Tsu-Chan…?” A light blush formed in her cheeks again. It had been a time since she heard Kazuya’s voice saying that. She immediately tried to let this thought go and focused on the story she had to tell. It was her turn, after all.
“Well…” A deep breath was taken as a prologue. There was not an easy way to say this, was there? She pondered.
Tsukiko then told Kazuya and Royland everything. How it all started when she saw Kazuya come out of that alley last Saturday. How she was following him since Monday to try to know a little more about digimon. How Argus contacted her and made him follow him and steal his digivice and digimental. How Tsukiko’s own digivice appeared, Mitsuharu making her realize what she did was wrong. Everything that had transpired during the last few days was told.
Once the story was over, Kazuya and Royland would find both Tsukiko and Mitsuharu kneeling on the floor, bowing their entire body to them, their foreheads touching the ground in an apologetic manner. For a second, not a single sound could be heard across the whole room, until, in unison, they both broke the silence. “We’re very sorry for what we did!” They yelled, intensively.
That… was the true meaning of being strong.

Royland was trying his hardest not to think about bad stuff as he smiled waiting on the couch, the small lion was a glowing with postivety as the events of today did affect him. He decided to look on the world with a hopeful as instead of lamenting the friend he lost, he was more excited about the two new friends he made. This was his way to combat the inner issues his action today caused, while it can be unhealthy it is his life, and Roy always the cup as half full instead of half empty.
Kazuya however was mostly grateful that only his shoulder is the one in pain, but also contemplated why he had received two injuries in a row. Was he cursed by some angry diety or was it just pure bad luck ? Either way Kazuya wanted to make sure that this won't happen again and he will make sure that he stays uninjured for a long while, hopefully he can actually manage to do that.
But uncontrollable future aside Kazuya was fine with sleeping on the couch today, I mean the whole situation was awkward, him sleeping in the same house with the woman he broke up with years ago was weird, but ultimately necessary thing. "Yeah yeah, its no big deal. I will sleep on the couch, Roy can devolve back to baby and sleep near me." Kazuya said as he looked at Roylahd to see if he agrees, and the small ivory lion gave his golden eyed partner a firm nod, agreeing to his proposition.
Royland was happy to have helped not only Kazuya, but also Mitsuharu and Tsukiko to learn more about the cycle of reincarnation digimon go through, it is a painful cycle that if you have your memory intact can cause the digimon to suffer from great regret or guilt, but it gives digimon another chance to right the wrongs of their previous lives. And that what Royland intended to do, he intended to fight to save his comrades. And Kazuya will help him, doing whatever he can to make sure Royland is never alone again. "Yeah, I did not know about the interact details of reincarnation before today. Digimon are a fascinating species, you guys continue to break the laws of our reality. So if a digimon is absorbed is he gone for good ?" Kazuya asked, it was a dark subject but Kazuya desired knowledge about the digital world, while a few weeks he was also curious and gathered info about the digital world, he did that for self amusement back then, now he wants to equip himself with knowledge for the sake of his friend Royland.
"Yeah mostly, I have no concrete evidence but, they say once you kill a digimon all of his absorbed victims will be released. I am unsure of the validity of that claim as I never witnessed something like that happen, but a lot of people I trust told me that so it must be true." Royland said, the topic was too heavy for his liking but it was a good he can discuss and help others learn about it.
Tsukiko calm and cold words were certainly interesting, Royland found them beautiful and reassuring even, it was not what he expected but he still appreciated them. And the truth that the girl stated was something he was ready to face, he knew that in his road lied some hardships, battles that will probably be harder than the one against Argus, but Royland had the spirit and tenacity to face that head on. "Thank you a lot, I am grateful to you guys. " Royland said as he bowed his head respectfully towards both Tsukiko and Mitsuharu, overjoyed Royland came close to tearing up. Nothing moved his hear more than new friendship.
Kazuya then noticed the effect he had on the girl when he called her by the name he used to call her with way back when, it was honestly a force of habit, something he couldn't control. But still he was happy to see Tsukiko blush at being called that, it brought joy to his face as he curled up a smile.
That smile immediately went away once he began listening to Tsukiko's story, to think that she not only followed him around these past 4 days but actively co-operated with the man that plotted his death, to say that Kazuya was shocked would be an understatement. He honestly did not know how to react and just sat there completely silent as Tsukiko and Mitsuharu apologized.
Royland was also shocked like his partner, and who can blame any of them. And in that moment something took over Roy, he thought that if only he had his digimental he would maybe save Argus. This let out a rage in Roy, a rage that was going to be lashed out onto The girl and the samurai. But in a second the image of Jazz helped Roy regain his sanity and not lose himself in his rage. He got out of his chair and approached the two them with a smile on his face. "Rise up lady Tsukiko, Mitsuharu. Apology accepted, I can't tell you that what happened was not dangerous, but the important thing is that we are all safe. I am forever grateful towards the two of you, and yes tonight I lost Argus, but I gained two friends and one of those friends is a rival I will not lose to, so chin up you two and let us enjoy each others company."
Kazuya rubbed the back of his head and chuckled "I could not say it better Royland" Yes literally, Kazuya was too shocked to say anything." But yeah everything is fine now, but please be careful from now on. "

The words Royland uttered resonated inside of Tsukiko's head, right after he had managed. Slowly raising her gaze, blue met yellow as she and the Spadamon crossed glances. "Royland..." A brief silence ensued until the girl herself broke it once again. "Thank you." She lowered her gaze again, this time in a thankful manner.
"I appreciate your words, Royland the Spadamon." Mitsuharu stood up, walking towards the hall that led to Tsukiko's room. He stopped right before going through it. "Do you need help to take care of him, Sensei?" A quick glance went to Kazuya while he spoke.
Immediately shaking her head with a slow movement, the pink haired replied. "You had a very tiresome day. You should go rest." "Do you think he'll be alright?" Again, a quick gaze went to the raven haired man. Tsukiko unavoidably quirked an eyebrow, sort of confused at the samurai's inquiry. Was her partner actually a little bit too worried about Kazuya? Nah, that couldn't be it. "Yes. He'll probably be just fine after a night of sleep."
"I see..." The dinosaur unsheathed his sword, to then point it in both Kazuya and Royland's direction. "Then you must know something, Kazuya Oda: I am not your friend. I can't forgive you for what you've done to Sensei in the past, regardless of what Royland the Spadamon did for us tonight." His tone of voice was firm, it denoted guts and even some traces of anger. "That being said, you better be out of this home at 8 o'clock, or you'll meet my blade."
Tsukiko quietly stared at her partner, until he left the living room and entered Tsukiko's bedroom. The blue eyed only giggled, closing her eyes confidently. "Well, you heard him." It was the only words the situation called for.
After fully standing up, Tsukiko walked towards a drawer, sliding it towards her by its handle to take out some bandages and alcohol. "I'm going to treat your wounds now, okay?" A cold glance fixed on the man, she then took the curve heading to the kitchen. Once there, and while she prepared everything, she started going through her head about all the information gathered across the whole day, especially those last bits of information Royland had given to them. She took out her digivice and D-Terminal and put it in the kitchen's table. The silver-colored device showed an odd figure on its screen. It seemed like half an egg made of steel, with spikes on top and a flat base. What the hell was that? She could only wonder. Upon fiddling with the buttons a little, the words. "Digimental of Responsibility" showed.
After a while, and with more questions than answers inside of her after seeing this, Tsukiko came back holding an iron bowl full of warm water with both hands by its handles. She slowly placed it on the table, to then damp a clean piece of cloth in it. "I think now you should..." An awkward silence followed this words, Tsukiko's cheeks taking a light pink color again. "... Take your shirt off or... Something."

Royland smiled as he was genuinely having fun learning more about Tsukiko and Mitsuharu, he viewed the two as friends. Yes they did not hang with them for a long time, but they have been with him through a perilous night and Mitsuharu fought by his side as a companion. But even though Royland really liked the two of them, he couldn't help but notice something strange. There was this underlying feeling of tension and anger, seemingly directed at Kazuya. It was really awkward and made Roy feel tense at moment, but he felt like there is no need for him to ask questions now. As he had no right to do so, because the last time he asked Kazuya about Tsukiko, the man refused to give him the details.
And just like how Roy kept his past a secret up till now, he felt like Kazuya should take his time and reveal the details of their relationship when he sees fit. But for now he sat idly by as he saw Tsukiko give the golden eyed man a cold, if a little angry stare.
Kazuya however knew why Tsukiko is let's say a little miffed (totally just miffed) at him, after all he knows that his decision no matter what hi intentions were is going to make her hate him. He did not expect it to reach that level of hate though, to think she'd follow him and even believe he was an inherently evil man was quite the shock. But he only smiled nervously when her cold icy stare crosses with his own gaze. He continued to say nothing, even chuckling nervously at Mitsuharu's threat.
But Royland however did not take that threat quietly, he did not take as serious but he saw it as a challenge. So he turned to Mitsuharu and stuck out his tongue saying "we will leave by then, but even then I would protect him using my blade. Which is cooler than yours." Royland had a mocking tone, it was as if a child was playing the play ground with his friends. He then crossed his arms and huffed as Tsukiko made her comment. He was not mad, but he won't let Mitsu hurt Kazuya no matter what.
Tsukiko then stood up and headed to get the necessary to help treat Kazuya's injury, this made Roy happy as he wanted to see the process of healing a human injury. So that next time he can help Kazuya himself without having to desperately rely on others, his eyes followed Tsukiko till she left the view for a second, he then turned towards Kazuya and whispered to the man with raven hair. "Psst hey Kazuya, can you tell me what happened between you and Tsukiko ? I want to know what is making Mitsuharu and Tsukiko very angry at you. " The lion asked as he looked around, he did not want the pink haired girl to walk in on the two them right now, but if she actually heard him then nothing can be done.
Kazuya sighed as he knew that he had to tell Roy at some point, but he did not expect it the time to come so soon. But he can't tell Roy right now, the situation is awkward as is no need for him to dig through old wounds right now. "Yeah sure, I will tell you and give you all the details and answer your every question. But not right now, let's do that after we are back at our house ok ?" Kazuya whispered back and Roy nodded back at him, Royland was happy to know that his trust of Kazuya was mutual and the tall lonely human trusts him as well.
But then Tsukiko returned with the things necessary to treat Kazuya's wound, Roy examined the contents of the things Tsukiko brought with a careful eye, and he recognized some of the items. But before he could ask anymore questions, he noticed something weird, when Tsukiko asked Kazuya to remove his shirt she was blushing. Even Kazuya hesitated for a second before saying "yeah, I should" and then completely removing his shirt putting it next to him. Royland was quite confused by what was going on, he decided to ask Tsukiko a question.
"Hey Lady Tsukiko, why are you blushing ? Is there something wrong with Kazuya being shirtless ? " Roy asked bluntly and honestly, the look on his eyes was genuine.

“C-Cooler?” His eyes wide open, Mitsuharu just stared at Royland after the Spadamon’s statement. There was a certain mix of anger and surprise from the samurai, regarding the way Royland saw their rivalry. He had his mind set in eventually making him take this seriously. And, in order to do that, he would have to become much stronger.
But now the Bushi Agumon had left the room and it was time for Tsukiko to take care of Kazuya’s injuries. However, her biggest obstacle in this endeavor would probably be the flustering it all produced. Not that Royland was making things easier by asking those questions, really.
“W-Why are you asking me something like that?” The pink in her cheeks only turned stronger, almost becoming red. “I’m not blushing at all!” Her eyes briefly escaped Royland and Kazuya’s gaze, trying to look elsewhere. “And even if I were… It’s only natural, having someone shirtless in my living room!” It wasn’t just “someone” though, it was her former boyfriend, after all. She still knew Royland didn’t mean bad. Could that creature ever mean bad, anyway?
Slowly, Tsukiko started stroking the wound in Kazuya’s shoulder with the soaked piece of cloth. “First of all, we need to superficially clean the wound.” The girl turned her gaze towards Royland, in case the digimon wished to know a little more about how to treat a human in this situations. “Then…” The not so pretty part was coming. With a small piece of cotton soaked with alcohol in her hand, Tsukiko wrinkled her mouth a little. “… This is going to sting a little, okay?” And boy if it did…
Kazuya would probably feel a strong burning sensation in his shoulder once Tsukiko touched the wound with the piece of cotton. “I am sorry, but it's necessary to make sure the wound doesn’t get infected.” The treatment continued for around five minutes. If (hopefully) Kazuya hadn’t passed out from the pain, once she was done with that, she would wrap some bandages around the wound. “Now that we’re sure the wound is not currently infected, we are going to protect it with this, to make sure it doesn’t get infected from now on.” She explained, lastly.
While she did this, her gaze met Kazuya’s for a second, like if there were something she wanted to ask. Immediately, her eyes shifted, trying to not make eye contact. “So…” Maybe there were some trues still to uncover. “… Who is the girl with… the curly hair?”

Royland looked at Mitsuharu with a smug look on his face, he was proud of his words and is ready to back it up 100%. He did not have a shred of disrespect towards Mitsuharu, and he wanted to help him hone his blade and fight him at his strongest. He then watched as Mitsuharu and he had a satisfied smile on his face, as he saw that as an indication of his victory. It's 1-0 now, yes Royland is gonna keep count of the times he and Mitsuharu clash be it physically in combat, games or verbal battles. Will he tell the samurai about this count ? Maybe, maybe not depends on what happens from here on out.
But Mitsuharu was now long gone, and Royland was now more focused on Tsukiko, who seems to be denying his statements. "But you are, in fact it's more apparent now than before. Did I make it worse by pointing it out ? " Roy asked tilting his head, he then listened to Tsukiko give him an honestly logical explanation. If Royland did not have the ability to sniff out bullshit, he saw blush before and Kazuya was not shirtless then. "Yeah I would believe that but wait, you also blushed earlier when Kazuya called you Tsu-chan. Is it the name ? Will you blush if I call you Tsu-Chan ? Or is it unique to Kazuya ? There is something there isn't th-" Royland continued to investigate this mystery but was stopped by Kazuya who interrupted him and said.
"Royland enough! She said it was because how sudden this is, there is nothing to look into okay!" Kazuya said as he began to get nervous his brow began to sweat, he did not want this already awkward situation to get any worse than it already is. Royland shrugged "I was just asking, but okay I won't ask anymore questions. " He said, it was obvious to anyone that Roy was dissatisfied with those answers.
He then noticed that Tsukiko was doing things and trying to teach Roy at the same time, his perked up and his attention was grabbed fully. "Oh! Yes I want to know, show me how it's done lady Tsukiko." Roy said as he began to study everything Tsukiko's been doing, following her with his eyes. He noticed her technique in cleaning the wound, it was the first step something he needed to memorize, always clean the wound.
Next up was the tricky part using alcohol to stop the infection of the wound, it looked simple enough for Roy it's only when it was applied did he notice that even though Kazuya braced himself, the golden eyed man still grunted in pain as Tsukiko treated his pain. Kazuya clenched his fight so tight, you could see most of his veins. The pain was extreme and frankly too much, but Kazuya did not scream nor yell. He maintained himself in front of Tsukiko, this continued for five minutes the only sounds Kazuya let out were some grunts. Roy was amazed at the brave display his partner displayed tonight. "So this how you do this ? Wow, you are amazing Lady Tsukiko." Royland said with a smile on his face, Kazuya on the other hand was biting his lips from th pain. It was too much on him but he managed to not scream for so long.
"Oh you mean Katherine, she is a girl who I met in the digital world. We helped each other out, and she got really close to me. I want to look out for her and guide her through, she is competent but still young. So I want to teach her how to be independent. why do you want to know ?" Kazuya barely managed to say.
Roy frowned "hey Kazuya why don't you tell Lady Tsukiko that you hurt your hand to protect Katherine ?" Roy wanted to make his partner look good.

By every word Royland utter, Tsukiko got more and more flustered. The blushing in her face was as vivid as ever, but she just stayed quiet, without answering. Thank God Kazuya had jumped out to stop his partner. She knew he didn’t mean bad, but gosh, did he know how to poke on a fresh wound. No, not Kazuya’s wound.
The truth was that Tsukiko couldn’t get mad at Kazuya for calling her Tsu-chan. It was a thing of habit, probably. It wasn’t like she could just stop calling him Kazu-chan either.
“You are a strong boy, aren’t you?” Tsukiko giggled mischievously. The man was putting up with the pain pretty good, actually. She was almost proud. She stopped wrapping the bandages around the man's shoulder to loosen her hair. It had been a long day, and that scrunchy was starting to give her a headache, so she just let her pink hair loose, falling over her own shoulders. After letting go a short sigh, she continued with the task.
Her blue eyes shifted towards the small warrior for a second; she then shook her head. “It’s nothing, really. I don’t know much about these types of things but…” Raising her gaze to let her mind go through memory lane, she made a small pause. “I used to live in a dojo when I was little. So very often someone got wounded. My mom taught me how to treat them, in case I ever needed to.” These memories had brought a warm feeling to Tsukiko’s heart, which unavoidably made her smile.
Going back into reality, her blue eyes went to Kazuya, as he explained who this curly-haired girl was. “I see…” Her mouth wrinkling a bit, the girl tilted her head. “Gosh… She looks young. Does she have a digimon partner too? Is her digimon strong enough?” A worried countenance took over the blue-eyed’s face. It was kind of preoccupying knowing this girl was involved with this world and these creatures, after seeing what Argus was capable of.
“You hurt your hand too!?” Tsukiko's eyes widened, her tone of voice was the one of a scolding, to then let room for a sigh. “You really are hopeless, aren’t you? You keep hurting yourself.” After finishing the wrapping of the bands, she stood up, taking everything back into the drawer she initially took them off from. “Please, don’t forget to change those at least every two days.” Her eyes then went to the white-pelted digimon. “Royland. You did learn how to do it, right? Could you change Kazuya’s bandages every two days?"

Royland was honestly a little miffed as he puffed his cheeks, the truth loving part of him knew something was up between the two humans, Tsukiko blushing more and more every time he digs deeper about this issue, and Kazuya is getting nervous around Tsukiko something he is not used to see Kazuya do as Roy knows how calm Kazuya can be. There also the fact that among all of Kazuya past girlfriends (if you can even some of them call them that) Tsukiko was the only Roy knew precious little about, the only thing Kazuya told the spadamon about the blue eyed girl was "she is easily the prettiest woman in the world" which is not much, but clearly something is there.
The Spadamon was confused, he did not understand why Kazuya and Tsukiko just talk about it. If they both have feelings they should just say it, if not then they just talk about and become friends, there is no need to to make things complicated like they are doing right now. "I do not get you guys." The spadamon mumbled.
Kazuya was sweating a little from the pain, heck even he was suprised that he did not yell from the extreme burning pain, but he made it. The raven haired man chuckled at Tsukiko's playful comment, how long has it been since the two of them were in a normal situation like that. Well relatively normal, there is a bipedal talking (adorable) white lion next to them. "Heh, well you know me. I have always been a pretty strong boy. " He said with a warm smile over his face as he playfuly winked at his pink haired friend, Kazuya then witnessed as Tsukiko let loose her beautiful long hair as it flowed elegantly, the sight made the confident man be quiet as he could feel his heart skip a beat, he was truly defenseless against this woman. Which is why he tried so hard to forget about her, but now he can't help but fall in love all over again.
When Tsukiko talked about her family dojo Kazuya got a shot of nostalgia, as he remembered the long gone days where the two would huddle up together after a long college day and the meaningful talks they had as a couple, part of him regrets never talking about his mother to her.
Royland however had a surprised look on his face, he did not know that and to him living in a dojo must have been cool. "Woah really ? I bet living in a dojo and being surrounded with swordplay must have been nice, wait a minute are you the one that got Kazuya into swordplay and samurai ? Cause he has a bunch of samurai swords back at home, and he even has some cool movies like Zatoichi the blind samurai, and even lone wolf and cub." Royland asked as he raised his eyebrow, his face was uncertain as he has been pondering about Kazuya's love for samurai and katanas for a long time now.
Kazuya the shaked his head when Tsukiko showed signs of concern towards Katherine. "She may be young but she is competent, and do not worry I do not plan to leave her on her own, I will guide her towards a better future. And besides knowing her that girl will make a bunch of friends and never be on her own." Kazuya said the raven haired man had a smile that is similar to that of a proud older brother, he could not help but find himself be really fond of that silly little girl.
Royland ears perked and eyes sparkled when Tsukiko asked about her partner, Royland does not get a lot of chances to talk about how he feels about Jazz when he does, hoo boy does he get very excited. "Yes!! Kathernine's partner is Jazz and she is very strong, in fact before today she was stronger than me. Not only that she is the most smart, competent and beautiful digimon there is no one can compare nya~ I am so in love with her. " The spadamon said as he began to think about Jazz the lopmon who so boldly stole his heart with her cute smile, Royland then remembered something kinda important. "I forgot something, the two of us spend some days together. But I want to go on a real date with her, but the question is where do I take her ?." The lion looked down, as he was deep in thought.
Kazuya chuckled at her statement, she was not wrong if Kazuya was better he would have helped Tsukiko and Kath without hurting himself. "Ah well I did what I had to do, and I do not regret it." Kazuya said with a confident smile on his face, he then noticed that Tsukiko did not wear a ring, so she is not engaged or married.
Roy then looked at the blue eyed girl and gave her a very confident smile and nod. "I will take care of Kazuya, I promise Lady Tsukiko."
Kazuya chuckled at Royland enthusiasm and turned towards the pink hair girl. "Alright with that settled, everyone should be getting to sleep soon right ? Don't worry I will leave tomorrow early, I wouldn't want the person you are dating to see me and cause a problem to you Tsu-Chan. " the golden eyed man said with a smile on his face.
