A boy with jet black hair and a dark blue hoodie stumbled around the ruins, closely followed by a small blue dinosaur, with a large mouth, and short, stumpy legs. He was having more trouble with this rugged landscape than the human tamer, a lad only about fifteen, at most.
He had came to Old Terminus to seek out answers on this 'old Digital World,' he just had to see it for himself. Maybe he could reactivate the gate somehow? If only if he could find it - this place waa absolutely massive in size. It truly was an entire city, buried by time.
The boy ran his fingers through his hair, his eyes finally witness the fabled gate to the prototype world. Excited out of his young mind, he ran towards it, in the process separating himself from his partner.
"Wow... it's so smooth...I cant believe it." He ran his fingers on its surface, feeling all the bits of old metal. There were no openings, no bits of exposed wire or any sort of switch. It seemed like this thing was staying offline. Then...everything went black. Something heavy hit the back of his head, but it was lights out before he could realize what was going on.
"Shit, Demi, I think that killed him." A sarcastic, fake valley girl accented voice spoke. The attacker mercilessly brought the metal pipe down on the boy's head two more times, making the whole scene look a bit like a smashed watermelon. Or at least a really ugly one.
The attacker, a petite blonde girl with her hair messily tied hair, reached down to pick up the boy's Digivice. Blue and red, the screen still flickered. The hunt was on. A small bat-like creature fluttered down from behind her, snatching the Digidevice, and promptly devouring it. "The young gentleman has a draconic Digimon, I can tell by the ashy taste of the device. It couldn't of gone too far."
The intent was to steal this little shit, and add him to her collection. Apparently, the only way she would get stronger was by fusing various Digimon, but she only had one, which was of course a problem.
Rena's golden eyes peered back and forth around the dark city, looking for any signs of movement...

Though it was probably clear as day, Rena was not alone in this shithole part of the city. Nope, see, there was another here who had been suffering from the voice of one hungry alien in her head, and she had decided to humor that voice by going on a hunt.
Lo and behold that led to Mao tailing this jackass in a hoodie in her Vemmon form to Old Terminus, and subsequently winding up at a gate. Remaining hidden behind a bit of rubble, Mao had been ready to pounce on the guy, maybe get him to tell her where to find some actual Digimon to fight...
Until a girl came up and smashed the guy with a goddamn pipe. It was a good thing that Mao wasn't very squeamish. Especially in this form.
...Screw it, they were looking for someone, and they were inevitably going to end up finding her somehow if they were going to search the place for the other digimon that the bat mentioned. The alien stepped out from behind the rubble. "...I am unsure what I am meant to say at present, apart from the obligatory I come in peace."
It was fairly obvious that the one-eyed Vemmon was in fact not a dragon.

Something emerged from the rubble, causing the teenager to tighten her grip around her makeshift weapon. She didn't know kung-fu or any of that shit, and definitely didn't lift every single day. But if Friday the 13th had taught her anything, none of that shit mattered against a good, sturdy, blunt object.
Whatever emerged, it wasn't a dragon, so Demi was clearly wrong. It was like a little man in purple armor. Shit, did she just kill somebody? That might be a problem. Nah, what was this smack her brain was talking? Worry about it later. There was a strange little purple man before her now.
"Come in peace? You, like, been following me?" Whatever this little thing was, it was likely a Digimon. It honestly didn't really matter what kind of Digimon that they stole, as long as it was in the end, in fact, a Digimon. So, yeah, capturing this one was just as good. "Ya can totally fuse with this one, right, right?" Rena eagerly asked her chiropterian friend.
"Not ideally what I was searching for...but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try." The ex-doctor looked upon the strange creature, immediately identifying it as a Metal Empire and Nightmare Soldiers hybrid. A virus attribute...alien type. Yes, it was certainly extraterrestrial. He had not yet encountered this sort of Digimon, so he could not put a name to it. An unfortunate fallacy.
"So, like, done looking at it yet? C'mon, c'mon already! Dust it!!" The thin Tamer urged her partner on, who was currently considering a method to engage the target...perhaps for a little too long. At this point, it would be fairly easy to come up with a counter-attack and dodge whatever the Demidevimon had to throw out.
The bat then suddenly unleashed a wave of darkness from his wings at the invader, hoping to blast it with a quick succession of solidified darkness. The pain from it would be like a thousand knives and needles, though without anything actually causing any cuts or gashes. Immediately after, almost expecting a counter, Demi threw something to Rena, which she caught and quickly stored in her sweater's pocket before it could be seen.
"Truthfully, I have nothing to properly dispose of another Virus type. I hope you understand, this may be long, and painful."

"...No, that would imply I care enough to follow your scrawny ass." This was how you commune with humans, yes? No, Vemmon, no it was not. "I was following the one who's head is currently a mess. Looked at my vessel funny. Was going to load him."
This painted a clearer picture. Kind of. Rena stole Vemmon's food. It was still hungry. The one-eyed alien stared at the DemiDevimon as the rookie...took the wave of darkness head on. Pain was like fuel in the tank for it, really. It had been that way in life. It would be this way in death. The girl was extra impatient, and Vemmon was, consequently...Pissed.
It had only two words.
"For you."
It vanished in a purple burst of energy before it appeared right next to Demi. In front of him, actually, and attempted to bring it's claw up and ram it right into the bat. The alien was not holding back, though it seemed a little sluggish from the wave earlier...Unless that was an act.
Please don't get me killed.
I only seek to feed. You're the way out should we lose. Terrestrial.

The attack made contact, surprisingly, but it didn't seem to be all that effective. Dark energy was likely not going to harm something that was essentially born from it, molded by it, and fueled by it. But - there was no time to think. Before he could proceed attack fully, Demi was suddenly on the ground, having been smacked down by an extremely fast force.
No, it wasn't super speed. The small bat got to his feet, brushing off the dirt from his wings. "So, you are able to teleport." It was simple to figure out with how fast things happened. Physics didn't allow for a mass of that size to simply move that quickly. "I hope to one day add such an ability to my collection. It is truly intriguing, you are playing with the laws of reality." The bat began to hover again, preparing his next attack.
While the nightmare soldier was talking, Rena had slowly approached the alien from behind, taking a sudden swing with the metal pipe to its spine. Hopefully, it was distracted enough by her partner's winded speech for the simple attack to hit.

"'Cool beans' as my vessel would put it." Vemmon replied, pointing it's other arm down at Demi as the eye located within the arm began to glow. In all honesty the Digimon didn't seem all too keen on listening to the praise of the bat. It was hungry. It was going to finish this quick. It was going to dine on chiropteran data today rather than some stunted lizard that looked like it was suffering by existing.
However, before it could pull the trigger, a blunt metal object made contact with it's vertebra! Or what would be it's vertebra. "Ow, fuck. I cannot believe you have done this. My singular weakness. Metal. Oh no." Vemmon...droned on, teetering over. "I must now resort to my next trick inside of my sleeve, pulling a human out of my ass."
...One second passed. Two seconds. Three. Before Vemmon suddenly let out a MUCH more feminine yelp of pain as she stood up. "What the actual heck was -THAT- for?! Never mind the dumbass ghost alien!"

"Vessel? Like, the fuck you droning on about, man?" Rena raised the pipe to go in for a second swing. Same location, this time, hopefully knocking it down. "Now you're soundin' different, like, totally weird. Speak or get beat, buddy." The malnourished girl smiled, after all, breaking something was one of her favorite activities. She patted the metal against her free hand, indicating another strike was coming soon.
"He - she's a Spirit Warrior - we have no use for her." The bat suddenly chimed in, having pieced together the evidence from what the alien had just desperately spoken. "There is nothing to gain from killing her. Its just a human using the data of ancient, long deceased Digimon." Rena looked down at the purple thing in disappointment.
"I still wanna break something, though." She ignored her partner, raising her arm for the third strike, out of nowhere. At that moment, however, something nearby barked rather loudly. A dog? "Huh? What's that?"
Demi immediately flew up, looking around to locate the tiny dinosaur - only to find it nearby, its leg stuck in an old piece of rubble. It was barking not in defiance, but because it was stuck. Now, this should be easy...

"Dang straight!" Mao barked, indignant at getting hit a second time. Heck, she even took a swing at Rena, aiming for the girl's leg when she got back up. When the third strike seemed like it was coming, Mao had raised her arm to block it and perhaps attempt disarming the girl...
When it never came. No, they got interrupted by barking. "Oh for crying out loud, isn't that the thing that this thing wanted to take a bite out of?"
It probably was. With a strike to her own faceplate, the Vemmon turned and blinked away, violating several laws of physics briefly, before reappearing near the piece of rubble and this stunted lizard thing. "...What even is this thing?" It asked.
Probably directed towards Demi. Maybe.

"Nice try - huh, wait, where'd ya go?" The blonde said in confusion, having skipped over the swipe to her leg, only for her victim to have suddenly vanished. Oh right, it could teleport. Anyways, something new seemed to be on the menu, the delicacy of a roasted dinosaur. While Demi flew to the dragon's location, and the alien blinked over there, she would have to walk.
"It is a Digimon...though not the most excellent specimen of one." The bat spoke as if he were embarassed for the small creature, unable to even move itself from this location. It had practically defeated itself.
Without much further discussion, as it could hamper this whole mission and process, Demi swooped down to the dinosaur, grabbing its back with his talons. Within seconds, the Digimon was reduced to a cloud of data. The data became like a stream of glittering water, flowing from the location, and into Rena's Xros Loader.
She had just now arrived at the scene, but it seemed like the mission was already accomplished. Looking at her loader, it now read "x2" rather than "x1" on the display screen.
"Demi! We like, got two now, and that's more than one, so like, let's get this done." The fanged girl held out her device, pressing a couple buttons on it before pointing it at her partner. "No...wait, we haven't tested it in a controlled environment yet!" It was too late, though, the data of the Gaossmon had been loaded into the Demidevimon, causing them to temporarily fuse together.
What emerged from the storm of data was much, much larger, perhaps the size of an actual dinosaur. It was blue in color, and had two terriyfing heads at the end of each of its arms, one like a snake, and one crafted of bone. It roared primally into the air, before turnings its attention to the Vemmon...
"Uh, Demi? Look at you! Best form ever, so far! C'mon, let's test it on something!" Deltamon simply roared in response, though it did not seem to listen. It immediately took a chunk out of the ground with its snake-like arm, devouring the data of the environment, before attempting to step on the alien.
"Hey! We can't use that thing, remember?"
