Getting Back my Groove [Ask / Spar]

OOC note: Before we begin, the rules are as follow: No cards, no form above adult stage (armor adults are allowed), RAM upgrades, alternate forms and such are OK. No merc also
Spartan Training Ground finally. Valt have no idea how much he's waiting forward for this. He never really tried any sort of mock battle after his death as Slayerdramon.... and so to have any sort of sparring is indeed interesting. Valt is currently warming himself up to the spar. Here in Spartan Training ground, he's hoping to test his new body against other Digimons, possibly in spirit of sparring and improving together.
As a Vmon, he's not so different from the other, probably other than the fact that he's more muscular looking than a normal Vmon and with more battle scars than most. Not enough to make full difference, yet the difference is there. Following the Vmon is of course his partner Noguchi Ryouta who decided that he'll be watching instead and only take reins when needed. At the moment, their experience is different. Ryouta has forgotten nearly nine years worth of Digital World experience, and it's affecting their teamwork severely, especially on the evolution front. They only could access Adult stage at the moment, and honestly... it's not good at all. It doesn't help at all that all their Digimentals are no longer working... they need new form.
"Ah well, there's no better time than today! It's time to have fun!"
============================== VALT (CHILD STAGE) STATUS: NORMAL ============================== PASSIVES: Ultima Break (RAM UPGRADE GIGA): Toggleable, allows Valt to ignore opponent's barrier, reflect or negating move that is targeting his attack. Three turns cooldown between uses
Chasing Strike: Trigger-type. If the enemy attempt (but canceled with Ultima Break) or manage to cancel or defend with skill against Valt's attack, allow him to repeat the attack, but with 1/2 power next turn. Two turns cooldown between each use. (did not count in the total skill amount he used) (Dodge doesn't count in this)

For different and yet similar reasons, the members of Silence had stopped by the training grounds around the same time. Tadayoshi had recently gained some battle experience but the newest members to the group had not. They still had one huge advantage over their apparent opponents, though: numbers. While Valt was but one digimon, Tadayoshi and the freedom fighters of Silence were 17 strong not including the General himself. Their numbers included eight MetalKoromon, six Missimon, Renamon, Hagurumon, and the core of most of their fusions. Tadayoshi, a 16-year-old boy still in his school uniform and a short brown buzzcut notices the lopsided odds. "That's not very sporting, is it?"
"A real battle isn't - and shouldn't - be sporting," replied Silence's core fighter and Tadayoshi's second, Commandramon. "However, this isn't a real battle, so we may as well keep it fair. I'll go in alone. If he digivolves, though, fuse me,"
"You got it," Yoshi acknowledged, "Might be a cool place to try out some combinations with the new kids, too."
The Missimon all took issue with that, expressing their outrage one word each.
"We're-"
"-not-"
"-just-"
"-kids-"
"-you-"
"-know!"
"I know, I know! You're just, you know, new. So we'll try and work out some kinks. OK?" This seemed to satisfy them. "But, uh, one question: how exactly are you going to tone down the lethality?"
"I think you underestimate a digimon's ability to heal and carry on through wounds," Commandramon responded as he finished loading and priming his assault rifle. Once that was taken care of, he stepped forward and called ahead, "You over there! Are you about ready?" toward the Veemon he was to fight. These matches were hardly new to Commandramon; he practically grew up in this training camp, a combat veteran long before he even met Tadayoshi, so he was cool as a cucumber, rifle held at the ready but still pointed downward. Commandramon is locked and loaded.

Well, well... Xros general... this is completely new. He have fought against nearly all type of chosen, but this is the very first time he's going to fight a general. Speaking of them though, He did not expect that in all honesty... Fighting against certain type of opponent usually have some type of pattern, but as for Generals, their pattern is... probably a bit too hard to grasp due to their ridiculous amount of flexibility. But regardless...
"Aniki, should we take this on?"
"...Hmmm, well looks like they're going to play nice, so I don't see why not. If you're not feeling cool though, just pull back alright?"
"Heh, well, I don't think I'll tap out that easily. Hey yo, fancy to see a Commandramon. Quick, strange question, do you swear a lot or quite sassy?"
"...What the heck with that?" Ryouta retorted, not getting the inside joke.
"Never you mind~"
At any rate... This is quite the teamup, except the Renamon. He... honestly curious why there is a Renamon among all these machine-type Digimons. Commandramons are obviously machine-type too albeit still having 'em biological parts...
"...Hmmm..."
Well, there's nothing that he can do. He'll just get ready for a little tussle. He know this is a bad move but here he goes anyway...
"So, first thing first..." Valt politely gestured 'please go on ahead' "You can go first if you want."
This is definitely not a good move in real practice, but he wanted to see how the guy going to react with him going 'you first' like this.

The only reaction Commandramon gave to that odd question was narrowing his hairless eyebrows, trying to scrutinize the question for its true significance, followed by lifting one brow higher than the other, expressing that he couldn't manage it. He could only manage to answer, "I do neither of those things," matter-of-factly.
When the Veemon passed the initiative over to Commandramon, the armed lizard didn't even stop to think twice about it. Almost before Valt could finish the polite gesture, Commandramon showed Valt what the inside of his barrel looked like by pointing it right at the Veemon. This, however, was a feint. His true action was to use one paw to reach into one of his vest's many pockets to extract a grey cylindrical canister with a button near on top of one end. This was the button to arm the grenade, which Commandramon pushed just as soon as he got his paw on it. Not waiting an instant, he then proceeded to throw it hard at the ground just in front of Valt's feet.
On contact with the ground, the grenade detonated. At the same time that a blindingly bright flash of light and deafeningly loud blast came from the explosive, thick black smoke instantly puffed out and became a dark cloud. Soon as it did, he started running back and to one side, trying to put distance between himself and the foe.
"Maybe we should back up!" Tadayoshi anxiously advised the group of digimon beside him. Apparently they all agreed, because as Tadayoshi started giving the battlefield a very wide berth, they did, too. Commandramon used Bangsmoke and tried to throw it near Valt's feet.
Bangsmoke: This digimon throws a grenade that can be set to detonate on contact or timed delay. Upon detonation, it creates a deafeningly loud crack, a blindingly bright flash of light, and a dark cloud of smoke, all of which extend to a 15-foot radius. Any digimon caught in the initial detonation are deafened and blinded for 1 post, and any enemy or ally either inside the smoke cloud or attempting to aim through it using natural sight or smell has their accuracy reduced by 30%. Any digimon using senses besides sight or smell, or with augmented sight/smell capabilities (such as this digimon's infared-enabled scopes), are immune to the accuracy reduction. The smoke lasts for 3 of the opponent's posts. Cooldown: 3 posts.

"Mmm, guess that's only her then," Valt commented. He remembered how sassy the Commandramon that he know is, and hearing how he acted in front of his general, he thought that he's also a sassy one, but it doesn't seem so. "Gotta love 'em SEALs and their foul tongue."
And as he expected, this guy is definitely more than experienced. He doesn't act like an admonishing senior and instead immediately go on for the attack. Valt knew about the object and he managed to close his eyes right in time, but it felt like his eardrums just exploded. A really loud RIIIIIIIIIING resounded on his ears, and honestly, that was the worst...
"...Gee, that was mean..."
If he recall it correctly, Kon-chan... doesn't have it huh. Luckily for him, the smoke does not hide the odor.
For now... He guess he'll do something, and that is, to smell the guy. His ears still ringing, and that's bad. If he opened his eyes, he's pretty sure that he will probably get blinded, either by the gas or the smoke, or both. This means that he cannot even make difference between the direction so... first thing first... time to track the guy.
"...That was a goddamn nice skill though... Should probably pick some of those as reference for Kon-chan..."
For now... he's guessing that the enemy got their own counter for their own move.. So this means, they probably have some sort of heat tracker that could negates any sort of vision impairment. To run out of this gas field... or just stay inside is the question. Regardless, he'll be a sitting duck. So for now... Let's move to where he was standing before and...
Valt immediately lowered himself all four and sniffing the ground. Alright, that's the smell. He got it. However, he still isn't in clear. That probably would allow the enemy to get a snipe on him... Focus... focus... where would he be?

God, I love watching him work, Tadayoshi thought to himself, feeling a lot calmer now that he was at a safe distance. Just that move alone is a credit to his skill; highly debilitating and yet completely nonlethal. The look on someone's face when they realize what just happened is a nice bonus, too.
Satisfied as Commandramon was with the result, he was a professional who kept his head in the moment, not on self-praise. To an extent, he hardly had to think at all: at this point he was just following training that had been drilled in his head for a long, long time, as well as his own well-developed battle instinct. What he didn't know was that Valt was likely able to smell Commandramon as he planted himself about 30 feet away at about Valt's ten o' clock, most people's non-dominant side. At this spot, Commandramon dropped to one knee, pointed his weapon inside the smoke cloud, and whispered, "Precision Shot."
On the lizard's command, the iron sights of his rifle morphed into mid-range scope - specifically, a thermal scope. The display inside the scope additionally showed Commandramon distance, wind, and elevation data as well as adjusted the crosshairs in real-time to center on the true destination of any round fired. Valt was right; with that vision, Commandramon was able to see the Veemon practically as well as if there was no smoke at all. At this point the lizard had to remind himself, This isn't for real; don't go for the kill. Nevertheless, Commandramon fired one round made out of pure energy from his gun with a loud crack.
Tadayoshi couldn't see inside the cloud, but he thought he knew his partner. So, somewhat prematurely, he smirked and muttered to the others, "Oh, yeah. I think he's got this."
"He's-"
"-such-"
"-a-"
"-total-"
"-freakin'-"
"-badass!" the Missimon cheered, one word per digimon as usual. Renamon couldn't help smiling silently either. Heck, even the cluster of MetalKoromon began to beep and whizz excitedly. Only Hagurumon abstained, instead preferring to turn away from the match altogether. Commandramon was successfully sniffed out to be crouching about 30 feet away at Valt's ten 0' clock.Commandramon attacked Valt with Precision Shot.
Precision Shot: The current sight or scope of this digimon's rifle disappears to be replaced by one more appropriate for the current range that automatically corrects aim for wind, distance, and target motion, and it even provides weak-point analysis. This digimon aims the scope or sight, then fires one highly precise energy bullet to deal damage. This attack's accuracy is boosted by 30%, and its damage is boosted by 25%. Outside of combat, this ability may be used at any time without triggering a cooldown to access various scope types like night vision, infrared, and long-range zoom. Cooldown: 2 post.

Ten o'clock? As far as he know, he have trained both his side to be as agile as possible, but in this new body, he probably not as agile as before... or maybe still is. Ryouta stayed silent, and while he seen the Commandramon, it's seem that Valt has noticed his position far before he does. The blue lizard Digimon pretended to not yet notice, instead sniffing around and moving slowly... the ringing on his ear has yet quite subsided, but...
There's no mistaking it. The loud crack was already enough for him to use his dominant left arm to quickly roll out of the way. It still grazed his shoulder though, making him hiss in pain. If he was not on the floor, most likely he'l get hit more squarely. Using the momentum from the roll, Valt continued his sideway evasion, readying an attack. On his palm, a ball of energy formed, not one of a Vmon's standard arsenal for sure, but there it is...
Silently, he tossed the attack at the Commandramon. Not even caring about any sort of counterattack, Valt began his reckless charge. However, the energy attack should be like beam of light in midst of this smoke, thus hopefully could act as a blinding light that could get the same effect as what the Commandramon did before.

Interesting, was Commandramon's opinion on that artful dodge by Valt, I did everything right: he was right next to the grenade, and I know my shot was on target; that attack never misses. He must have hardly been able to see where it came from and still he dodged it. How...? Unfortunately, Commandramon got a bit in his own head, which contributed to being unable to get out of the way of the counterattack. Commandramon caught a glimpse of that energy building up through thermal even if the more advanced correction features were gone for the moment, and it confused him. What? He hadn't expected a ranged attack from a digimon he had prejudged to be a close-range brawler; hence why he established that distance earlier!
Distraction, surprise, and that light flash that forced Commandramon to shut his eyes while he saw it were why Commandramon went down flat on his back as the beam struck him center-mass. Even his battle armor apparently wasn't sufficient to nerf the hit very much. "Agh!" he cried as his back collided with the dirt.
The Missimon sure changed their tune:
"He's-"
"-such-"
"-a-"
"-total-"
"-freakin'-"
"-loser!"
However, that little knock was enough to shock him back into the battle, so he recovered quickly, managing to see again OK after that. He may have blundered, but so did his opponent; the Veemon was simply too far away and too slow to reach Commandramon before Commandramon could loose another attack. It seemed going for distance was good for something at least. Getting up might have slowed Commandramon, too, though, so instead he stayed down on his back while he pointed his gun back at Valt and held the trigger down for a nice long while. "Bullet Burst!" There wasn't a whole lot of time to aim carefully, and this time the rounds were made of metal instead of energy, but there sure were a whole lot of 'em!
"Desperation isn't a good look on him," Renamon spat, crossing her arms.
Tadayoshi disagreed. "He's not desperate. His target is already running right at him; he doesn't need a whole lot of finesse there." Commandramon was hit by Valt's V-Aura.Commandramon attacked Valt with Bullet Burst.

And thus Valt already used one of very few of his trick in the box. He's not proud, not at all. He know that he's very lacking, and this is bad. Even so, he thinks that this one is quite a masterful use of his little technique. He'll make a note to get more technique later down the line. The fact that his opponent is on the ground did not make Valt happy. If anything, it only make him anticipating for a desperate attack to keep him away, one that might be more than a simple shot.
And that's when he's right. But then again, at this point Valt got no hesitation at all. He crossed his arms in front of his face, protecting it from damage. What's different at the moment though is the battle attuned grin that slowly blooming ear to ear as he got hit more and more. He's not a masochist for sure, but this response honestly made him happy. When he got close enough, Valt planted his feet strongly to the ground.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!"
It was a warcry that seem to rouse Valt's own spirit. Light blue wisps rose from his body like some ghastly aura, temporarily taking form of higher level Digimon before returning to its normal wispy state. Taking some of the bullets that still lodged on his scales, he plucked one in particular and flicked it with his thumb like a catapult. The increased power from his technique probably would make it launched with enough force like it was shot from a handgun. He would continue this tactic for several more times as much as the bullets permit, mainly not to harm, but to distract the Commandramon enough for him to get close enough to him.

"What?"
"Did he just-?" Both the captain and the General were shocked by the defense Valt had pulled off. He just caught the bullets in the arms like that! What the heck is this guy? Tadayoshi started to dig his Loader out of his back pocket and held it concerningly tightly.
"Wait!" Hagurumon tried to urge, "He said not to fuse him unless that Veemon digivolves!" Though true, Tadayoshi wasn't fooled; Hagurumon was just trying to get out of having to fight himself. Still, Tadayoshi kept one thumb over the big silver button on his aqua and silver Loader, looking and feeling pretty jumpy.
It seemed that Commandramon truly did deserve a little more faith than that, though. Odd as it was to watch someone throw Commandramon's own bullets back at him, the dragonoid digimon was caught off-guard. It was pure luck that flicking bullets, or anything, naturally wasn't a very accurate method, so the first round struck Commandramon harmlessly in the chest armor; apparently, it would take more than a typical handgun velocity to force already fired and therefore battered rounds through digital world armor. Commandramon managed to roll onto his side, having caught on on to the attack strategy, to avoid the second round. Before the rest, Commandramon barely had time to jump back to his feet before he could finally put up a real defense.
The armed lizard avoided all further damage by striking a stance which exposed very little of his body to the enemy. He used one of his armored paws to cover most of his face except one eye, crouched so the easiest part of his legs to hit was the armored knees and down, and kept his tail straight up behind himself to take it out of the equation entirely. Through it all, by leaving one eye uncovered, he was still able to watch the Veemon's advance. That's it. Nice and close! he silently beckoned, If your arms can take bullets, then...
The Veemon was successful in closing in on Commandramon at last, but the armed digimon thought all that accomplished was getting him a better shot. Without breaking stance, Commandramon used his free paw to point at the Veemon and shoot from the hip with the intent to hit center-mass, confident that this practically point-blank range wouldn't give the Veemon the time to defend. "Bullet Burst!"
Commandramon successfully defended against the bullets thrown by Valt. Commandramon attacked Valt with Bullet Burst.

Admittedly it's not so much catching it as letting it lodge in his scales... and bleeding at that. It managed to draw blood on Valt's arm, but it's nothing too severe. This sort of pain is still easily able to be ignored. He continue his charging up to where the Commandramon is...
"...As I thought, you're seriously thinking that I only can charge headlong, huh... Aren't you taking me too lightly here, dude?"
And at that moment, Valt would suddenly do a cross-over, a move that used to be done in basketball, yet at times like this where only one of the Commandramon's eye is on him, he could easily go to his blind spot. Not only that, Valt's fist is ready. Even if the guy managed to switch the direction of his gun on time, it still isn't full damaged shot like he hoped. That's more than enough. At least it wouldn't interrupt his attack.
"...Clench your teeth."
Valt's arm is now coated with blue energy that just spells dangerous. Not only that, the buff definitely would make this attack hurts all the more, even when defended against. Valt's fist would fly toward the Commandramon's unguarded side in an attempt to deal devastating damage upon him.

"Predictable," was how Commandramon responded to the attempted dodge from Valt. "Stop telegraphing!" Commandramon punctuated his friendly advice with a burst of bullets straight into Valt's torso. How? He knew only a complete moron would charge a straight-line ranged weapon head on, and he also completely expected Valt to come from the blind side just because it was otherwise the smart thing to do. Maybe Valt was running on a speed boost, but all it took to adjust his aim was one quick flick of the wrist.
Commandramon even attempted to use his gun as a defensive measure, trying to use its length to keep himself out of the range of the Veemon's reach. That, however, turned out to be a failure; he couldn't point it at *just* the right angle to keep him away because right about then his chest began to sting distractingly; he couldn't forget the wound from that beam a moment ago. The most Valt probably felt was a little jab in the solar plexus, which was nothing compared to the pain Commandramon was feeling right about then. With that strength boost, Commandramon wasn't merely knocked down; he was sent sent feet through the air before introducing his shoulder to the ground. Not... good... the dragonoid recognized.
The good news for the armed dragon was that he knew how to deal with exactly this sort of pain: he dug into a pocket and withdrew a small syringe. Was he going to try and stab Valt with it? No, apparently it was for himself. Commandramon roughly jabbed it into his own shoulder, and almost instantly he could feel its pain-numbing effects spread throughout his whole body, making him sigh in relief. That felt much better.
"Quit-"
"-being-"
"-such-"
"-a-"
"-fracking-"
"-pushover!" The Missimon once more 'cheered.'
Tadayoshi had had enough. That's it. I'm gonna solve two problems at once here. Holding his Loader out proudly, he declared, "Commandramon, Missimon, stand by for fusion!"
Tadayoshi had expected Commandramon to object, but apparently he didn't like his position either. "Yes, sir."
The Missimon were just thrilled they would finally get their chance to shine. All at once they declared, "Ready!"
"Cross!" As Commandramon threw the empty syringe away and got back onto two feet, it at first looked like nothing happened. The only real difference in him was that he was starting to hold his rifle in just one paw rather than two even though he wasn't protecting himself like before, and Tadayoshi noticed he had grown about six inches taller somehow. Commandramon then reached out to grab something with his left paw, which at first looked like he was simply grabbing empty air until something materialized in that air: a shoulder-mounted missile launcher. When it materialized, the six Missimon all flew into the launcher, loading themselves into it like the ammo. "Whoa..."
"Oh..." Commandramon chuckled a little as he trained the barrels of both weapons on Valt, "I like this new one."
Valt was hit by Commandramon's Bullet Burst from the previous post (hit decision was deferred to Tadayoshi). Commandramon was hit by Valt's V-Magnum. Commandramon used Field Medicine on himself. Commandramon fused with Missimon (6) to advance one stage to X2 Commandramon + Missimon Launcher.
Bullet Burst: This digimon raises his rifle and shoots metal bullets at the opponent with a high rate of fire to deal damage.
Field Medicine: This digimon uses its own medical supplies to heal itself or another. The target gains about 33% of the average rookie's maximum health. Outside of combat, this ability may be used to fully heal this digimon or an ally quickly between fights. Cooldown: 4 posts.
New Passive activated: Armed And Dangerous (passive): Commandramon + Missimon Launcher's armory is so high-end that his base damage is boosted by 15%.

Valt got hit by the attack, but that's not a problem for him. He have gone through worse. Sandiramon came to mind. However, seeing how this guy got the fix and he got none, Valt glanced at Ryouta. There's no external help like cards in their case. Their upper form is the one that loaded to point of overarmed even. However, their lower form needs more work. He guessed that it's because they rarely entered a battle as Dracomon and Coredramon, usually only Wingdramon and above. Ryouta closed his eyes and assessed the situation, but looks like the battle will get a bit more interesting from here on. He honestly a bit worried about Valt, but at this moment, Valt need his support and faith. He's asking for the next action. It's obviously.... "...Valt, Evolve," Ryouta answered. "Been waiting for that! VMON SHINKA!!"
Brave HeartWith a flash from the digivice, The Vmon is coated with data that formed egg shell, only to enlarge after fully encasing him, Slowly, the shell disintegrates, revealing a bigger dragon silhouette in ternary coding, about three meters in height. Ring of light rendering his form from top to bottom.
"XVMON!!"
Now with the capability to flight, Valt spread his wings open. For now... his desire is to see how good this new form of Commandramon is. Valt roared as a challenge to the opponent. An X2 with Missimon... he's guessing that most likely it'll have homing capabilities. Electric currents running through his body, a sign that a new passive is becoming active. Yet, what sort of effect it have, probably not something that is obvious at first glance.
The XVmon crossed his arms in front of his chest, charging a signature attack of all XVmon. The insignia on his chest slowly getting brighter and brighter.

Listen while you read for maximum desired effect:
In the interest of fairness and sport, Commandramon once again demanded of his opponent, "Stop telegraphing!" thinking that was his idea of helpful battle advice.
"A big, flying target against a missile launcher? I think the tables just turned." Apparently Tadayoshi wasn't that confident, because he then advised his team, "But, uh... let's get nice and far away from the dragon and the missile launcher anyway?" On that note, he and his teammates cleared the area entirely, retreating behind some trees for cover.
That left Commandramon alone with the dragon. I may not look it, but I feel stronger just from having fused... not to mention this shiny new toy. Even though XVmon wasn't moving a whole lot, Commandramon didn't let himself get fooled again. You've been too slippery. Bangsmoke grenades hardly affected you, and you're fast on your feet; I expect the same in the air. However... A display in front of Commandramon's face hung from the missile launcher that showed the rough shape of an XVmon with crosshairs over it. For a moment the text onscreen read, ACQUIRING... before instead changing to, LOCKED ON. Dodge this.
The crack of a gun was nothing compared to the boom of that launcher. Out from it shot a Missimon travelling too fast for Tadayoshi's feeble human eyes to track. The smoke trail she left behind suggested that she didn't fly straight, though; she adjusted her path in-flight to strike right at the target. Commandramon attacked Valt with Missile Lock.Missile Lock's damage is boosted by Armed And Dangerous.
Missile Lock: Commandramon launches one Missimon, and that Missimon uses its own power to fly and change direction in-flight. This move's accuracy is boostes by 33% above base Commandramon accuracy.
Armed And Dangerous (passive): Commandramon + Missimon Launcher's armory is so high-end that his base damage is boosted by 15%.

"You shouldn't worry about me, mate. How about you worrying about yourself first?" Valt countered. His position was too obvious, and he's definitely... not dodging the slightest! Without any sort of defense other than holding his charging position, the attack hits him squarely. Sure he might have covered the vital part, but even when he's bloodied and battered Valt...
...Grinned
He grinned like a battle maniac he is. He grinned now from the increased adrenaline and the happiness to face a tough adversary. His body suddenly crackled with electricity. It coursed from the tip of his horn, straight to the X mark on his torso. Valt unraveled his guarding stance, where the X on his torso shine golden.
"...How about you stop telegraphing for once?"
The charged attack was both fast and destructive. Not only that, the damage from Commandramon's attack is channeled to his next attack, thus increasing its damage. Valt is always someone who walked on line of life and death too much. In fact, at this point he already accepted the fact that he's one that thrives in situation where he's closer to death. While he obviously does not make this evolution as an answer of certain tye of enemy in mind, at this moment, he honestly wondered... those sort of chasing attack, wouldn't it only make it easier for him to build damage?
The force was to the point where Valt himself launched backward from the force. It forces him to skid on the ground to stop his momentum. Talk about a heavy attack
