Honestly Holly had spent so much time in her room reading after the events of the fishing trip some might of thought that she had lost the desire to do so. But as far as she was concerned that was a memory that she could do without; while it held many a lesson for her the frustrations that she felt from it only lead to that uncomfortable emotion she didn't need. Didn't want. That didn't belong.
So she just did away with it; and she felt marvelously better. Felt that bounce in her step, that cheery smile on her lips again. She could feel the teachings of that memory from time to time; she could feel the nightmares about it. Waking up in cold sweats as she saw her sister dragged underneath the waves.
She could feel hands dragging along her arms, along her legs before waking. Her own body, her own hands trying to comfort herself but they just made her feel even more alone. Even more frustrated with herself.
So she took to the books to try to quell this; to learn about the location that she had taken to. The location that she was in, and about the secrets the water held. More fish, more about seadramons. Quirking her brow she'd simply turn another page, she could still feel the pain in her chest when she thought about it.
"Mei... Da said to fight to protect others. But... Can I really do that? Can I protect someone like syre? Ma or Da?"
The meicrackmon hummed a little bit and snapped the book shut finding that she had finished yet another tome in the many halls of this place. She had been burning through book after book. Desperate to learn about the outside world, her curiosity burning a rightful path in front of her to an extreme.
Whitewater.
Luminas.
Terminus.
Rosewood.
Village of beginnings.
Rustport.
All of these places had their histories, had their places in the digital world. All of them were spread thin across the width of the digital world, trying to protect their own people and live their own lives. She'd hum a little bit and look down at her desk where a simple letter that had been addressed to her lay. It bore the luminas mark and her father had wanted to throw it away but... She wanted to read it. Understand it. Know what they wanted.
It was nothing like she was expecting so she simply took it upon herself to use it as a bookmark for the time being. Humming to herself Holly opened her door and quietly shut it behind her. They wanted her for multiple reasons; she was the daughter of a doctor and a fighter, she was a meicrackmon, she had potential. They saw potential in all of the kids that K had but they had sent this letter to her. It made her wonder if they sent it to other kids, to Ma herself. To her Da.
More questions she couldn't get answered if she didn't go to find out. More questions that she wanted to learn about; understand. While she had heard a lot of people badmouth the place it was just like most of the other cities.
Citzens lived out their lives, guards fought, soldiers bred and born for it. People flowed through the streets; lived out what you could expect them to. What you could want them to. She wasn't sure if she wanted to serve such a thing; such a concept. But if she agreed to this place? What would she be given? Resentment later on? What would they try to make her do?
"Maybe I'm putting too much thought into something so early... I've only reached champion; I'm less than two weeks old and I've already got a city like that clambering for me. Feels odd; can't help but think about Da or Ma. Might have to make a trip on my own when they let me travel on my own..."
A firm shake of the head and she'd lean her head back.
"Maybe once I've learned a little bit more about the world... and My family. Can't go out there without knowing the bigger stuff can I?"
The meicrackmon had matured marvelously for one so young, she was still bouncy. Excitable and such; but she had a firm grasp on her situation here. A place of learning; a place she could be safe and enjoy her family. Some things other mons didn't have. She'd put a hand to her stomach remembering fondly that meal that not too long ago her family shared with one another. Well a small portion of the family...
