She'll figure something out? Well, at least she wasn't clinging for help.
At first, Cano just gave an encouraging nod, figuring that there wasn't much else that needed to be discussed. Picking up a stick, he rolled a log over the fire-pit to start cooking the other side, before moving to take a swing of his canteen. It seemed as if he was ready to just keep on going, as if Yomi wasn't here at all...
... Until, well, the girl started to choke up. Quietly, at first, but it started to pick up. It earned a small glare from the Strabimon, one that slowly softened as he saw the pain in her eyes. Right - today had not been kind to her.
With a sigh, he took a moment to soften his tone, more gently speaking to the human. "... Eat, and get some sleep. You're going to need every bit of energy you can get to make the walk tomorrow." He wanted to distract her from whatever thoughts she was feeling, at least - and offered at least one assurance to her. "And don't worry. No-one's going to get to you or your bag while I'm on watch. If you hear anyone but me outside the tent, just keep quiet. Alright?"

Yomi nodded, almost feverishly taking off her glasses and wiping her eyes with the side of her sleeve. Before getting to eat the little bit of food that the Strabimon shared with her. The jerky was salty, even more so as her tears kept dripping onto it. The girl couldn't care less about how the food tasted right now. There were too many thoughts on her mind. But the creature that found her was... kind. The girl looked at him with reddened eyes, the circles around them appearing from rubbing coarse, dirty fabrics too much.
"There's... nothing valuable in my bag anyway. Just schoolbooks." - Yomi mumbled. Briefly wondering if the Strabimon even knew what a school was. It was unlikely such a facility to have existed around here somewhere. The idea to take some rest was a good one. Having finished with the dry and tasteless food, she crawled to the small tent. It looked cozy inside, the small walls made it look safe. A shelter from the outside world. Before hiding in it, she gave another look to the Strabimon.
"T-thank you. You are very kind..."
Yomi did not want to annoy the Strabimon any longer, and just set down, closing her eyes and trying to get some sleep. Deep down, she hoped that she'd fall asleep, and wake up back home, and then hug her parents and friends and never ever ever let go of them. Such thoughts were pleasant to the girl. But along her back, a cold, dark feeling crept up. A soft, whispy voice at the back of her head. One that did not belong to her. It whispered a message that sent shivers down the girl's spine.
'You cannot leave...'
