Quantum was... rough. It wasn't even habitable yet. It was loud and messy and hardly even built at all but for a few cookie-cutter houses and starter projects. For the most part, it seemed to be empty lots and wooden frames for buildings. Still... it was a more significant undertaking than Leith had ever been a part of before in his entire life. Seeing the construction before his very eyes almost made Leith think this nation of peace project wasn't a complete waste of time.
Almost.
Still... no one could fault the living accommodations in the Pillar.
No one could fault the friends either. Kazuya and Roy seemed like good people, not to mention that a fellow adult Tamer seemed rather rare in this odd digital world of theirs. Still, they were apparently allies now. For the sake of convenience, when the group heard rumors of the digimental of fury floating around, they asked those two to help out. The only problem? The trio of Leith, Veemon, and Shoutmon couldn't find- "Oh, there he is." It seemed the two did meet them as agreed in the middle of a neighborhood developed for construction but where the process hadn't yet begun. "What's goin' on, guys?"
"Hi!"
"What's good?" Naturally, Leith explained the situation to them already: this was an attempt at the digimental of fury, but it would be disguised as a friendly hangout... that isn't so friendly for Shoutmon. Leith supposed it would be much easier to anger Shoutmon if he didn't know what was going on, and Veemon agreed. Shoutmon, then, was completely out of the loop.

It has not been too long since Kazuya Oda and Royland pledged their loyalty to Cion and her massive undertaking, but it sure feels like it. The duo frequented both the construction site and the headquarters from time to time, as Royland helped with both the physical labor and provided some moral boost for others, while Kazuya due to his background often helped with the paperwork, financing and management Kazuya knew what he was doing so he helps in any way he can.
But today they were not here for business, they were to do their friends a favor. Leith was one of Kazuya's teammates and one of the few adults Kazuya met in the digital world and is an all around nice enough guy, he had two partners a nice Veemon who got along well with Royland and he also had Shoutmon who was...lets say lively and unpredictable.
But now that they are here to help them Royland got excited to meet his friends once again, once they were in his vision Royland the Spadamon waved from afar."Hello guys, nice to meet you." Royland said with a smile on his face.
Kazuya smiled gently as he greeted his friends "Yo Leith, its been a while. How have you been man ?" Kazuya asked our of courtesy.

Hmm. What a nice and sincere greeting. On most days, Leith would have thought that was a great way to open the interaction. After all, that seemed like just the kinds of guys Kazuya an Royland were: overall decent people with manners and actual decorum. Too bad that wasn't what Leith needed right now. What, did they totally forget why we're here? The young man sighed. Alright. I can do this. I just have to get the ball rolling myself... no matter how many broken bones it'll cost me later.
Thank God Kazuya spoke English. Otherwise Leith would have been completely lost. Veemon and Shoutmon, however, had the luxury of addressing him in his mother tongue. "Heya! This place is already looking pretty good, isn't it?" On his way up to Kazuya, Veemon held out one fist toward Royland.
"Been OK. New digs are really nice! Too bad this one still leaves the place a mess, so it's effectively just more to clean." Shoutmon's eyes narrowed, but apparently this wasn't enough to truly infuriate him. Well, that was only natural. The digimental of peace appeared when Shoutmon and we all made up, probably something like he made peace within himself or something. If this other digimental of fury is real, then the way to get it is to infuriate him. Shouldn't be too hard. Leith tried to flash Kazuya and Roy subtle facial cues to let them know he expected them to continue where he left off.

It was a real nice thing to be able to chill around and just enjoy a lovely day with friends, if only that was the thing they are doing today. Instead they were here to enrage their friend Shoutmon, and if it was not for Leith subtle gestures the two of them would have forgotten about it.
Royland then fist bumped Veemon who approached him in a friendly manner, "yeah man this place is already looking good, but we will make it a great nation one day." The spadamon said with a smile on the face. The tiny spadamon then remembered the reason he was here in the first place, a tough request but something he has to do to help his friends, so it was time to put on the mean face. "Gah Shoutmon that is totally not cool man, what the hell. You are supposed to not make a mess, me and Veemon keep everything clean and tidy, its pretty simple really." Royland said with a smug smile on his face, believe it or not acting this way really annoyed Royland but he had to do what he had to do.
"Geez, that sounds awful. I pity you Leith, I can't imagine how annoying that must be. God I am happy that Royland does not make any mess, maybe you can learn from him. Because its clear you need some help Shoutmon, otherwise you will keep creating, you don't want that do you?" And Kazuya was very good at this...which is concerning to say the least, but hey this means that everyone will reach their objective quicker doesn't it?

Uh-oh. It was only at this point that Leith realized he was in immediate danger and so backed away four steps from the time bomb bound to go off. This better end before Shoutmon loses his temper too far, or else... I'm gonna want to be far away. He briefly considered, Should I warn 'em? before deciding, ...Nah. Both Veemon and Leith raised surprised eyes at Royland's use of profanity, never having seen him curse before. Damn, little boy, don't get so angry you take the egg from Shoutmon.
"Hey, hey, what the hell, guys? You're supposed to be my friends!" Shoutmon cross his arms and furrowed his brows. Well, he was annoyed and offended, but he wasn't yet angry. Luckily for Kazuya and Royland, there was still one expert in angering Shoutmon within conversational distance.
Veemon didn't say the words out loud, but from behind Shoutmon he tried to mouth the words, "Get more personal."
"Who the hell are you to criticize anyway? You barely know me!"
Again, Veemon tried to silently guide his friends in the right direction, "Call him stupid."

It was honestly a bit awkward for Royland to try and enrage Shoutmon, it was literally the opposite of what he usually likes to do. But its for a good cause so the Jolly Knight did not need the continue this facade for too long hopefully. However when Shoutmon said that he thought that Royland and Kazuya were supposed to be his friends, Royland bit his lip, this has made things very very hard for Roy but he somehow held strong.
Kazuya however was not bothered by it at all. "Yeah yeah, sure. We are just saying the truth shoutmon, don't get mad at us because you keep making messes and that Roy and Veemon are always clean and tidy."
The duo then noticed Veemon mouthing some words, upon closer inspection the two of them found out that it was instructions on how to get Shoutmon more mad. (Calling him stupid eh? This is a simple enough request, I bet Roy can't do it. So I will, it shouldn't be that bad.) Kazuya then rubbed the back of his head, he thought of way to say it without being too hurtful.
"Yeah yeah, don't try to turn this on us. That will only serve to make you look stupid, not like you aren't stupid already." Kazuya said with a smug shrug.

Backing up... backing up... backing up... At some point, Kazuya and Royland might have found it suspicious just how far Leith wanted to get away as well as how quickly. Too bad he couldn't just get the heck out of digivolution range. I know what's coming, and that means this had better work, or else Shoutmon's might not be the only wrath I have to be afraid of!
"Oh, piss off, boy scout. I don't tell you how to keep your room, now, do I?" For another moment, it still didn't seem to be working. Shoutmon was getting more defensive and annoyed, but this still wasn't anger. Given how little Shoutmon really cared about his personal cleanliness (after all, that initial suggestion wasn't a lie), it was gonna take something more personal than that to get to him. Luckily - though, not very lucky for Kazuya - he managed to push Shoutmon's touchy buttons in his very next insult.
Stupid.
Shoutmon reached out into the air to grab something, but nothing was actually there until he closed his fist, at which point his two-handed battlestaff/mic stand materialized from apparently no where. "I dunno who shoved a stick up your ass, but I know it's gonna hurt when my foot hammers it in!" On that note, Shoutmon sprang forward and attacked. He tried to run straight for Kazuya and leap to a height where he'd then swing his blunt weapon straight for the human's head. Screw sport! This little shit's gonna learn to keep his mouth shut! Even though Shoutmon wasn't using his true power as a digimon, instead relying on brute force, this sure was going to hurt if it connected. Shoutmon used a basic attack on Kazuya, attempting to bean the human with his staff.

When Kazuya saw Leith backing up slowly he thought that maybe, just maybe that Leith did not have a super tight fool proof plan. And if that's the case Kazuya may have just pissed off a digimon that is way too strong for him and Royland, and now they have no option but to see this thing through.
Well for a moment there Royland forgot that they are here to mess with Shoutmon and actually got offended when he was called boy scout, he stuck out his tongue at Shoutmon. "Hey who are you calling boy scout messy man, I rather be a good boy scout than causes a mess in every place I go to." Roy said as the Spadamon crossed his arms and turned a way with a hmph, well this could serve to further their "piss of Shout" plans but soon everyone would know why they actually did not need to do that, since Shoutmon got royally pissed by Kazuya.
The golden eyed man naturally took a step back, what normal human will stand by when a red reptile creature is clearly mad at them ? And to make things worse for everyone, Shoutmon actually took out his weapon and looked like he actually intended on harming Kazuya. The man tried to back off buuuut, Shoutmon was too fast for him so the man immediately braced himself for impact as he close his eyes.
But much to his surprise the clash was not with his body but it was with Roy's sword instead, the spadamon jumped in front his tamer holding his sword horizontally with both hands. Luckily stopping the shoutmon attack "Woah woah woah, calm down there Shoutmon. No need to get crazy on us now, or at the very least attack me instead. You know better than attacking a human, that is a low blow no matter how you look at it." Royland said attempting to reason with the angry digimon.
Kazuya however looked very worried and rubbed the side of his head with his index finger, looking over nervously at Veemon. His eyes look like if they were asking Veemon (What is going to happen next) this is truly was a one of a kind experience as neither Kazuya nor Roy were asked to deliberately make someone angry for their own good. BATTLE LOG :
Royland attempts to block Shoutmon's swing with his sword.

Shoutmon battle theme:
Shoutmon stopped for a moment to consider the situation. While the red digimon didn't really intend to brutally beat Kazuya for insulting him like he might have another digimon, but he still thought they man needed to be taught a little lesson. Royland wasn't exactly being nice, but his Tamer was the one who insulted Shoutmon straight to his face. He was the one Shoutmon really wanted to concuss. And yet, none of that overruled the fact that Royland was right: targeting a human who wasn't a threat to him wasn't sporting.
So, what was Shoutmon's answer to Royland's proposition to change targets? "...Deal." Besides, Royland had to learn his own lesson not to get in the red drake's way ever again. So, Shoutmon pulled his stand back up, but instead of putting it away he just readied it for another swing, only the head he was aiming at was Royland's. "Stand Smash!"
Veemon was on standby to keep things from getting truly out of hand, but the truth is this was an outcome he and Leith both predicted. Nevertheless, he was hypervigilant as he kept a safe distance. The digimental still isn't here! How much angrier does he have to get?
Shoutmon attacked Royland with Stand Smash. -Stand Smash: This digimon uses his microphone stand like a blunt weapon and beats the opponent with it to deal blunt force damage.

Kazuya was mostly disappointed that this event ended in a fight and against someone who is a friend to both the raven haired man and Royland, but the both are 100% sure its for Shoutmon's own good. Well Leith backing away made that 70%, but still that's more than enough to pull through with this.
The spadamon gritted his teeth, letting go of a faint animal like growl as he glared at Shoutmon. "Good, now we can have a fair fight. But do not worry I will go easy on you Shoutmon." Royland did not have a game plan against Shout on a physical level, he was not that comfortable with his tool set just yet. But he knew that at least on a psychological level Shoutmon would be easier to piss off than let's say Veemon, so maybe tapping into his very aggressive side will make it so that the red dragon will make a mistake and Roy can capitalize on that mistake.
But sadly for the white lion knight Shout was not playing Around and immediately started with a heavy attack using his strange weapon, Roy tried to block it with his sword but the impact was too strong blowing past Roy's defences. But it was not all for naught as Roy's defence helped soften Shoutmon's attack, it did not mean that his attack did not hurt, because it did. A lot actually, Royland took a couple steps back and raised his blade once again.
"Wow I forgot how strong that weapon of yours is, but it does not matter. I will beat you."
The spadamon lunged forward and preformed a swipe attack if you paid close attention you will notice that Roy is using the blunt side of his sword, not wanting to do any type of serious damage upon his friend.
BATTLE LOG : Royland took a hit from Shoutmon's Stand Smash. It did some damage, but Royland block attempt lessened the blow a little bit.
Then he attempted a broad strike, if it hits it will do blunt damage, due the spadamon using only the blunt of his sword. To avoid doing seirous damage.

"Come at me, you little shit!" was Shoutmon's not so eloquent response to Roy's taunt, staff held firmly and steadily. "If you want a fair fight, you better run away and come back with fifty friends, or else you're dead!" Leith couldn't be sure whether Royland really meant to insult Shoutmon by promising to go easy or whether he actually meant there were no hard feelings, but either way the red dragon growled and bore his teeth at the knight. Still, it was clear in his body language he was yet focused and steady.
There's no way he'll stay like that though, Leith predicted, Shoutmon's a total hothead. Put him down too much, and he'll totally lose it. That, or he'll get totally dominated and flustered from that.
But he wasn't dominated yet. Shoutmon's tall and sturdy weapon didn't have a problem catching the attack, as Roy had to close too much distance to make it, making it predictable for Shoutmon. Shoutmon then tried to push Royland back once again, first with a kick and then with a push-off from his mic stand. From there, he held the microphone in front of his face and screamed into it, "Metal Soooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllll!" in a sustained scream.
Well, Cion's gonna be pissed.
A stream of fire shot from the microphone in Royland's direction. It was pure luck that the fire didn't catch in the bare dirt they fought in or any surrounding unfinished structures, but would Roy be able to avoid Shoutmon's wrath himself? Shoutmon parried Royland's basic attack and pushed off of it to put some distance between them.Shoutmon attacked Royland with Metal Soul. -Metal Soul: This digimon bares its soul through a scream into the microphone, which causes the mic to blast a stream of fire at the enemy.

...Did Shoutmon just call Roy little shit ? Wow, the spadamon was not even mad. He was mostly shocked at what just happened, man words do sting don't they. "Hey I am not a little shit you, Sir Shoutmon of stupid kingdom." Royland said with a smile on his face, turning to Veemon with a look that is seeking approval. Damn Royland is a little too proud with his very (not) clever insult.
"That's the thing there are no fifty digimon like me, only one of me is more than enough to deal with you." Royland said with a cocky demeanour, it was all to fuel Shout's anger. But for how long does the spadamon need to stay out of character ? Hopefully not too long.
Royland was not surprised that Shoutmon managed to parry him, as a matter of fact Roy would have been shocked if his attack landed. But luckily Shoutmon was as good as he knew he was but that was not entirely good news, since he needs to fight him seriously from now on.
And Shoutmon is now taking things to a ludicrous extreme, luckily Kazuya was a smart man and decided to a back up and watch the fight from a safe distance. This was good because Shoutmon was now ready to essentially use a flame thrower against Roy, luckily the agile Lion knight had more than enough space to dodge and get away from the fire by taking into the air, and while he was mid-air he swung his sword creating a projectile made out of blue flame, it was in the shape of a crescent moon with the open part being facing Royland. "Take this, Blaze of Triumph"
BATTLE LOG : Blaze of Triumph : Spadamon concetrates his flame on his sword, before shooting it from the blade as a very powerful and fast projectile. Dealing massive amount of damage. (1 post cooldown)

"What the actual hell are you even saying?" Shoutmon called from across the battlefield. Apparently he was more confused than angered by Royland's insults, or rather his attempt at them. Of course, that didn't excuse the intent or recent history. Lucky for Shoutmon - and unlucky for Royland - the knight acted just as expected. Gotcha, bitch.
For a moment, it looked like Royland's attack was right on target because, well, it was. Shoutmon hardly even moved in response. Only when the flame came dangerously close to scorching him did he swing his mic stand at it. Using the same crescent motion Royland had, the microphone appear to suck the flame into itself. "How 'bout a taste of your own medicine, 'Sir Royland of Stupid Kingdom? Only a moron lets an opponent have distance when he's backing away!" The punishment for Royland's miscalculation was apparent when Shoutmon swung his microphone stand again. He didn't hit anything - he was too far, but he still declared success with, "Feedback Blast!" Out of the microphone then came the exact same blue flame Royland had just shot at Shoutmon in the exact same shape! "Blaze Of Triumph!"
It was at this point Leith decided he couldn't let this go too much further. He started to get a little closer to the battle, while trying to stay safe still, and shout, "Shoutmon, stop it! You're gonna hurt someone!"
Shoutmon reflected Royland's attack with Feedback Blast. -Feedback Blast: This digimon uses his microphone to absorb a damaging ranged ability targeting him or an ally and sends the same attack back at its user. The reflected attack is sent back with all its additional effects still applying to the original user but only at 66% its original damage (if the original attack has a damage booster, the reflected attack is sent back with that boost nullified).
Feedback Blast may only be used four times per fight due to the permanent damage the microphone may sustain from further attempted use. For the same reason, Feedback Blast may only be used against attacks of rookie level or below. Cooldown: 2 posts.
Feedback Blast must cool down: 2 posts remaining.

Royland huffed as Shoutmon questioned his insults, he did not care at this point because its not the first time he throws a super sophisticated insult that requires a higher level of intelligence to understand, just like that one time he told a guy that he was the deuce duke and Kazuya just face palmed. This was no difference, he just has to continue on focusing on the battle.
The spadamon then watched at awe when Shoutmon managed to pull a very impressive move, at first it looked like he was just willing to stay there and take a direct hit from Roy's attack but no. What he just did was something so cool that Royland couldn't help but fanboy over it, the knight cat had this starry eyed look on his face. "WOAH! that was so cool Shoutmon, I mean no. You are lame, hehe yeah that is what I totally meant. You are super lame aren't I right Veemon ?" He then turned to the blue lizard with a very embarrassed look on his face, he almost blew this "mission" which was something he really did not want to do, so from now on extreme focus.
Once Shoutmon used Roy's attack back on him the little white lion knew how to best deal with it, a way to dodge it without facing consequences. But he caught a glimpse of his surroundings and noticed that behind him was some stuff in construction, so Royland decided to not dodge to avoid causing damage to the city they are supposed to protect. Spadamon then crossed his arms and anticipated the attack, once the flame made contact with his body Royland could feel a very hot sensation on his body as the flames dance around him. The pain warranted some screams but Royland was not going to show any signs of weakness to Shoutmon, so he took the pain and withstood it. After the flame went away, he gave the red lizard a really smug smirk. "Hmph, well this is not over yet." Royland will go into a neutral pose closing his eyes as he gets covered by an aura around him, Royland began to heal himself.
Kazuya Oda shook his head at Leith's statement, it looks like everyone did not think this day through. And now due to everyone's lack of preparedness, Royland and Shoutmon were in the middle of a battle, this may have been avoided had everyone came with a more solid plan. But no use to cry about what could have been, this was the time to focus on what to do now. And sadly Kazuya had zero answers. "Good grief, looks like I put myself in a weird and bizarre situation. I do not think there is nothing I can do, unless I can abuse the one thing Shoutmon won't stand for. But what is it ?" Kazuya rubbed his chin trying to think of the solution, but ultimately giving up "Well Roy, I am counting on you now." The man said as he felt like he was out of options.
BATTLE LOG : Roy gets hit by his own attack The blaze of triumph
Roy uses a heal on himself.

When Roy called on Veemon, the poor little blue digimon's eyes turned wide, and he looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. "H-hey! Leave me out of this!" was his attempt to pretend that this whole thing wasn't partly his idea to begin with.
Shoutmon's anger was a little too focused to catch the slip given Veemon's cover. He never even looked at Veemon. "We'll see who's lame when I kick your ass so hard you won't be able to walk for a week!" While the Spadamon held his position, Shoutmon lunged forward, mic in hand, and dragged it behind himself, spikes carving the ground as he closed in. "Stand S-"
"That's enough!" Leith had learned his lesson about involuntary V-Pet confinement, but he couldn't let this continue. He accepted that the plan was a failure. What stopped Shoutmon in his tracks was that just as he would have swung his mic, Leith caught it. "Let's just say you won! Look, it's a long story-"
"Fuck that! I'll stop when he's on the ground!"
"I can explain!"
"So can he!" At this point both Leith an Shoutmon were a little distracted from the battle. Shoutmon was open, but Leith was right in harm's way if Roy slipped even a little.
