Not What it Seemed [Mission]

"It's been a while, hasn't it?"
Alan blinked and looked around him to restore his focus before continuing to stare intensely at the exemplary Asuramon. "Y-yeah... it does seem like they have things handled. And we're getting a pretty good view of the show. But... no matter what, it seems everything works with that digimental as intended. I'm not crazy, right?"
Levi shook his head. "Not at all. Only thing that confuses me: they're giving 'those guys' quite a lot of trouble. Even if they caused a minor disturbance, I fail to see what would cause security to react like that. What would you be able to see from there that they didn't want you to see and that you couldn't see from anywhere else?"
"All we can do is keep watching." "Hm." "And waiting." "Mm-hm."
The two sat in silence for a bit. Alan's focus was disrupted by a troubling thought...
"Shouldn't we at least have been asked what we want to drink by now?"

Alan did raised some interesting points... and this is how another patron of the restaurant overheard him. This time around it's a Rinkmon with a Baronmon on a table.
"Kid, you not supposed to be asked for drinks. You're supposed to call the waiter if you want a drink or something. The restaurant often doesn't bother with you when you're staring that intensely at the place over there."
Still, he seem to be You're indeed right, we've been here for a while you see... Three days at least. Every single disturbance around that part seem to dealt with harshly, but what for?"
"It smelled too suspicious no matter what how you see it," the Baronmon echoed "The only reason why we can openly stare at them and even use binocular is because most of people here are watching anyway... which means they're unable to move if we're doing it so openly. But with how they're so obscenely acting so fast when something suspicious happened in that crowd, wouldn't that meant they're hiding something?"
"Couldn't it be some secret of the trade or something?" another patron asked.
"If it's secret of the trade, then why would them let people buy it? It's almost like the Digimental itself are just a key for the actual process," the Baronmon replied.
"Indeed, they just let people buy it and leave, without entering that machine... That machine... could there be something with it?" the Rinkmon thought.
"...By the way, do you want to order now?" the Ebidramon approached the human and Vmon and asked such.
"WF Digimental is it? It would be 7500 bits."
...Exactly the same amount of the money given by the Skull Greymon. Either way, should Justice do the transaction, the vendor would gave him the Digimental... It's black, crestless... and something about it felt eerie.
"Would you like to calibrate it in the machine for your partners, sir? Or if you want to try it out for another time, you can visit our main store in the office district."
There are those who buy but does not calibrate, apparently... Now, to try or to not try?

Sheppard could no longer hold it back, he had done his best to observe the situation and not detonate his weapon of mass destruction. But it was too late now. John, his "Spidey sense" tingling, had already bolted to the balcony door and shut it, to prevent contamination of the room, as Sheppards anguished face turned tranquil.
There was no sound, no earth shattering rubbling of the digimons belly. Just a semmingly endless gas cloud that now left the body of the dragon soldier. Just to be safe John ran to the bathroom and looked himself inside, just in case the balcony door couldn't withstand Sheppards chemical attack.
"Sorry everybody, I won't eat those candies again." Sheppard said, as the gas started to spread down to the street and into the windows of unsespecting hotel guests. Yes, they probably won't be able to show their faces here, for a considerable amount of time.

Counting the Bits they had in combination, Justice handed the bits to the vendor, whom which in turn gave him the Digimental he requested to complete the transaction. The vendor did ask if he either wanted to use it on Vee and Gummy or just take it and try it out another time. The tamer responded by saying that he'll just go with the latter.
Looking at the WF Digimental, he couldn't help get a somewhat sinister feeling from it. It was black, lacking any symbols unlike the other Digimentals he saw in the stand. Despite one of them working on stage earlier, he still couldn't shake the feeling. He put it in his bag, for some reason the more he was holding it, the more uneasy he was becoming.
But anyway, the mission was complete. It was over.
"Alan, John, I got the thing," Justice said into his mic, walking away from the vendor. "Let's get out of here and bring this thing to Yuuki. The three of us wait for you guys at Arlo' shop."
But before leaving the crowed area, they went back to SkullGreymon, who seemed to be monitoring their transaction. That old geezer was a lifesaver. If it wasn't for him, this mission would have probably been a bust before it began.
"Thanks again for everything you've done. It really means a whole lot to us."
"Yeah, thanks again old timer, and try and take it easy for us, would ya?" Gummy commented.
"It was a real honor meeting you." Vee added.
Leaving the crowd and into the surrounding streets, Justice and Vee took a long, deep sigh. For them, this mission was the most mentally exhausting First the plan with the Red Veggiemon was a bust, and getting almost caught by those Digimon in the suits was too much a close call. It was best to get out of here as soon as possible because this place seemed like the place of automatic prosecution if someone mad even the slightest disturbance. Maybe those Digimentals had a shady business to them after all, but it didn't matter to Justice; they got what they came here for, and that's that.
"Soooo," Gummy gleamed into the two of them, his face having a cocky expression. "How'd it go for you two?"
Justice and Vee turned to him frowning; they did not want to be reminded of their screw-ups.
"Oh come oooon, judging how my part of the mission was smooth as a breeze, I figured that you two's part was just as easy as me." He gave a wide grin, winking at the two. It was clear to him that their experience was the exact opposite as him, so he couldn't help to start teasing them.
"Oh, fuck off." Justice said briskly, putting his hood over his head. At this point, the events of today gave him a headache. Approaching Alro's shop, the three of them then went inside, waiting for the others to come.

The watchful pair felt quite silly and a little annoyed upon being informed that they were supposed to call for the waiter. "That's complete news to me..." mumbled Alan, his head in his hand. "But anyway... it seems they don't mind people thinking they're suspicious. Whatever the deal is here, it can't be discerned from surface-level observation. We'd need to get closer."
"And that's what they're trying to prevent."
"Right."
"Ah... I hear Justice got one..."
"We'll be right over once we finish eating," said Alan to the other hires. "I've been looking forward to trying to the food here."
After saying that, they turned and made their orders.
"I'll have fettucine alfredo, and a glass of water, no lemon slice." "I'll have a bowl of the shri- uh, the lobster bisque. Oh, and, water here, too."
After they paid for their meals, the pair would return to the shop, hoping that they'll be able to crack this case eventually, be it with themselves or with the others.

Their journey to Alro's store was uneventful... but they're not alone. Yuuki and Hikaru was there already, waiting for the result.
"Welcome back, so how was it?" Alro asked them. The Herissmon then asked them for their recording pin, and retreated with the duo to a private room after giving the team some tea and snacks. Inside, there are seem a bit of a talk while playing the recording sides by sides. It took them a bit of a time, but by the time Hikaru and Yuuki came out with Alro, it was... about thirty minutes or so.
"...Alright, so... uh... first of all, thank you for your participation..." Alro began. "...These... honestly are too floating, considering that you... didn't really try to actively interact with your surrounding... I'd... call this a mission 'done', but success... is questionable, all thing considered. There are bits and parts that are..." ...Alro seem to have a hard time finding the word, so Hikaru interjected.
"...Honestly there are parts where you could have asked what's going on from fellow people who have been there for days. It's not clear that they're illegal or not... and that's the problem. It's mission done, and we'll pay you the amount to be expected, but it's not really a success, I'm sorry. At least we do get the Digimental, which is the greatest evidence, so we might be able to extract something out of it. That's extra for some of you."
"...And honestly, I'm sorry but one of you nearly sabotaged the mission's success on top of not hearing the communication from the other team member. John and Sheppard, we'll not pay you considering you saw the hooded figure, but did not tell your teammates of its presence. That's absolutely unacceptable," Alro finally found his voice. "It's unfortunate, but that's our decision. For the rest, we'll send your reward to your D-Terminal in at the latest three business day. With this, I bid you good day."
MISSION HAS ENDED
