Holly exhaled slowly as she could feel the inner workings of this form was much like her others. But there was a fundamental difference to it, it was far more powerful than her rookie, far more ready to fight than either of her other forms. It wasn't necessarily more aggressive but it didn't have the natural limiters her other forms seemed to have.
In short?
Well this form was made for fighting and was willing to go the full distance needed to to end a fight. So she'd dip her head in a nod and start rooting around a little bit; there were a host of other smaller things that seemed useful. But the interesting ones stood out to her a lot more than others.
"Mmm... it might take a little bit, I don't know exactly what I'm looking for or where it is. But I think I know where to start at least."
The meicrackmon tilted her head slowly to one side as her father explained that they were at the next step. Since she was already in ultimate he wanted her to spend the next hour 'idly' so she got used to being in the form. Without the panic, without the adrenaline. Much like her champion state that she had to learn, it would require som form of control and regulation.
"An hour or so? I think i can manage that, gives me time to root around in the form too!"
The meicrackmon's face split into a grin and she moved to get a little more comfortable here. That being said what would the mikemon do in that next hour while she would remain idle? There wasn't any immediate danger in this neck of the woods after all. If there had been they wouldn't of been training around here right?

Well, they could train, but Mikemon really didn't have anything prepared for an ultimate. So, unfortunately, the doctor had to call it short: "Mm. Well, since we're doing that..."
The doctor gave a nod, and with a small click under his glove, a portal opened back up to their section of the library. Well... it was going to be interesting to explain to Syre and K, but it was still 'Holly', at least! "C'mon, you can help K out in the kitchen..." The next week or so proved to be somewhat interesting, at least when it came to Holly. Ultimate level, sudden interest in stealth training, and... well, it was hard to put a finger on it, but there was something different about her. For one, the Meicoomon started to lock her door a bit more, and two, the books she took back to her room dealt a lot more with fighting and conventional tactics than her prior research flare. Did she have a new interest?
Well, Holly was young, so that much was to be expected.
Right now, though, it was simply laundry day: time to change out the sheets and throw the gloves in the wash! On Mikemon's request, Syre would take to their rooms, pulling out the sheets and pillowcases from each bed. Honestly, she didn't think much of it, simply dragging the basket to Holly's room. With a short hum, she'd flick out that pillow...
... Only to blink, seeing a black envelope fall onto the floor. "Hm?"
What was that, exactly? Why was it here?

"Oh?"
The meicrackmon blinked a few times as her father opened up a portal to their section of the library. She wasn't sure how she was going to explain this to her sister and her mother but... She was still her. Grinning ear to ear she'd stand up to go through.
"She'll like this I can tell!"
The next week or so was something that spoke a lot about her changes. The sudden interest, the locking of her door for a sense of privacy, the books she took back were of course more about fighting or the like but when she wanted to relax it was more research stuff. She wasn't being subtle about the change in interest, but honestly when it came to all of this stuff and how much weight her father put on the subject... Well it had enthralled her in a sense.
During the laundry day the meicoomon didn't have much to take care of past washing a few things of her own. She had already placed what she had thought needed to be washed down in the laundry room and headed back.
However what she saw upon returning to her room made the meicoomon freeze, her eyes widened a little bit and she scrambled in her head for something but all she could manage was stuttering out her sister's name.
"S-syre?"

"There's no return address... was Holly writing a letter or something? But why would she use a black envelope..."
The BlackGatomon was curious - where did this bizarre piece of mail come from? Picking it up off the floor, the cat would turn it once over, seeing that it was already sealed with a small bit of wax. Alright, so this was another one of Holly's acceptance letters? Wait, no... then why wasn't it open?
Then why was it hidden under Holly's pillow?
Honestly, she was about to ask mom or dad about it, when her ear flicked, seeing Holly right at the door.
Nervous. Frozen. Stuttering. All at the sight of her seeing this envelope. And honestly, Syre froze too, her ear merely twitching at the sound of her name. "Y-yes?"
The two were at an impasse of words. Syre looked right down at that envelope, then towards Holly. Was she being blackmailed... or was it worse?

Holly felt her breathing slow down a little bit and her heart practically leaped in her chest. She was staring at her sister, mouth agape and flapping for a few long moments as she tried to speak. Tried to do anything other than this steady increasing panic.
Calm.
The memory of that single word from almost a week ago made the meicoomon sigh. Without saying anything she'd quickly close the door and lock it behind her before putting her back to the door. She'd stare at her sister for a few long moments and back to the envelope.
"Have you read it yet?"
The meicoomon didn't have anything really to say to this, if syre hadn't read it well... She wouldn't know, but she couldn't really let syre leave without an explanation and she wasn't about to just let her walk out of here without her explaining or at least reading the letter now that she saw it.
She knew how it felt to be curious about something and not get the answers; she'd bite at her lip and gesture at it. The wax seal was already broken, already ready to be read by other prying eyes. In truth the meicoomon was going to destroy the letter later tonight while the family slept but...
"I don't think you, da, or ma would approve of what's in there. But it's not something I can talk easily about. I know that we can't help but be curious; we're cats after all. It comes with our nature. So read it; if you want to know. Even if you don't read it, and if you do. Don't tell Ma or Da. Please. Please. Please. Keep this to yourself."
Holly didn't know what was worse, the distinct lack of tone that she was speaking with. That analytical nature of hers cropping up, but when she said please? There was true honest desire that her sister would listen to the meicoomon.

"Holly?"
The tone just got a lot worse: unlike just a week or so ago, the 'Holly' that Syre was talking to now didn't have a bit of cheer in her voice. No, her voice was cold and calculated, even taking the time to lock the door so that no-one could walk in on this conversation. Holding that letter, the BlackGatomon slowly shook her head at the Meicoomon's first question.
But... just what had she gotten into? Clearly, it was something that she was trying to hide, but what? The BlackGatomon listened in silence, her ear twitching at her request: to keep it hidden from mom and dad. So Holly already knew that this was coming - what was it? Drugs? A threat? What could be so important that she wanted to keep out of dad's eyes?
Slowly, Syre opened that envelope, pulling out a piece of paper - its contents readily on display:To the New Member of the Order,
We are pleased that you have accepted our offer. Our acquaintance will remain with you, as your partner and confidant.
You will meet us properly at 4 Fall Lane, Luminas Island 3, the second Friday after you receive this letter. Destroy all traces.
We look forward to your services. No reason given. No risks taken - just a simple acceptance letter, without a reason, without a signature, without a single trace to follow. Passing the brief letter to Holly, the BlackGatomon would shake her head.
"Holly, please. You've... you've changed so much over the last week, and after seeing this? I just... I just don't even know if you're the same person anymore. So please, tell me what's going on, here?"

Holly sighed a little bit as her sister spoke her name, she felt a little bit of regret. She felt al ittle bit of unease, but those sort of seemed paltry to what nervousness she was feeling naturally.
"Yes. I know how this looks. Or how it feels."
There was an earnest sigh and she'd rub at her face, she could feel the worry from her sister like a beacon. Like she was worried beyond belief for her sister; she watched her sister pull open that letter and read it over. She'd roll her paws over one another and frown just a little bit taking the letter back from her sister.
"I've changed a lot because of things making sense, forms taking presidence. I've done research, done looking into every choice that was laid in front of me at that table but they were all wrong."
The meicoomon sighed again and slide down the door a little bit holding that letter while looking at it. She wanted to know what she was going to do? What was going on? Was she really even the same person anymore?
"I'm the same person. Just. Read to much into things, saw too much of things that... Normally I couldn't explain but with every answer I found more questions and more questions. A never ending cycle of curiosity that was never getting filled, still isn't."
She'd close her eyes and sigh a little bit again.
"And honestly, every single choice that was laid out for me felt wrong. Even reading research material felt jaded somehow. Nothing. Nothing felt right; you know that.... Day I did training with Da? The one with me digivolving to ultimate? He asked a question I didn't have the answer to until thinking about it more than anything."

Holly knew how this felt? How could she possibly know how this felt?
The BlackGatomon looked over at Holly, finding her younger sister much more composed but, at the same time, held so many secrets. Why was she being so evasive, so careful, so deductive? She even spoke negatively about things that interested her just a week ago: research, medicine, the other schools? Holly's voice was near-flat, but also certain, a sense of resolve felt that Syre didn't know how to respond to.
For several seconds, the BlackGatomon just remained quiet. Eventually, she'd find her voice:
"Holly. I'm here for you, as a big sister and a friend. I know you understand that... and I also know you tried to keep this secret from me. From mom, from dad. I... I don't know what to think, not yet." She gave a sigh, shaking her head. "So tell me. Tell me everything about what's going on here."
It was clear: Syre hadn't made her decision yet, not in her head.
But she wasn't going to let Holly leave this room without one. Not without calling dad, at least.

Holly let out a firm sigh and rubbed her eyes a little bit. She felt the emotions start to get the better of her; was this really the right choice for her? Was this what she wanted to really do. She said she had made her decision earlier last week but with the way her sister was reacting here was casing severe doubts.
Syre spoke, that she was there as a big sister and a friend. She did know that but hearing it made her body jerk a little bit and she'd rub at her eyes again. She tried to keep this secret because she didn't think they would approve of the job she felt she could do, that wouldn't... wouldn't make anyone else in her family feel less than they were for simply being.
"Last week. When you went to check out on that sound I was approached by an individual. They had been doing some patrols, and upon seeing me doing training decided to directly scout for me. Even going so far to test me when you were away checking that sound. We conversed for quite some time in privacy once home. They explained what they did as a career, and that I could do the same. We talked it over, went over what I'd be doing in a way."
She'd sigh a little bit and shake her head.
"When told how they help keep things peaceful, it made me realize I could do the same thing. I could do the same thing. And they helped me along in learning things, taking steps and... getting me ready for this next week. Giving me helpful hints when needed. Most of everything I've put into this came from the libraries own information. None of it's closed to us you know? Delve deep enough and you find the things you need."
She'd turn her hands over and frown for a moment; glancing up at her sister with an uneven look on her face. Her voice had lost that analytical tone and if that shademon was listening? He could feel her resolve melting away like snow on a summer night.
"Assasin. That's what he called the job, I've done research into the job and while it focus' on something I'm not extremely comfortable with it doesn't.. It doesn't get in your way. It doesn't get in Da's or In ma's or even Siris'. I won't be a bother of a little sister that's making people feel like their effort isn't enough and I won't just... be here. Even with the training and studying I did before felt EMPTY to me. It wasn't enough and I don't know what is anymore!"

Was this the right choice for Holly? Was this what she really wanted to do? Syre couldn't answer that, no. Those were things that the Meicoomon had to figure out herself. All she could do now, was try and explain it to her sister: why she was so distant, why she felt she had to hide.
And right now, it was Syre's job to listen. Her ears flicked intently as Holly started to explain it, how it all started from that strange noise out on their third run. So there was something... and it was trying to get to Holly? Honestly, those scores were as much a blessing as they were a curse, but it seemed like whoever found her had her sold, hard. A way to keep peace, one that she could research on her own terms...
An assassin.
Syre's heart skipped a beat on hearing that. This was her little sister, and she was talking about such a dangerous job? This was Holly, the cat who just wanted to fish and have a good time! If the BlackGatomon responded immediately, she would have shaken her head and tried to claw her away from it - and two months ago, she would have done just that.
... But she didn't.
Not after her own experiences with Cassandra. Not after seeing what it was like to work on that side of things. Instead, Syre bit her lip, carefully assessing the Meicoomon's tone, looking over her frame. She seemed certain, even if somewhat blind, that this was the job for her.
"... Holly..."
She gave a sigh. "... Just remember, this is your home, alright? Don't go missing for days on end. Mom will worry, and by god, she will tear apart half the Digital World to find you. Dad will tear up the other half." Syre gave a small chuckle at that. "But I won't tell them. Not for a while, anyway - its something you need to come face to face with them, eventually. Promise me that, alright?"

How could anyone answer that?
How could the meicoomon even answer that, but if she went down this road perhaps she'd find the answers at the end of it or perhaps at the next fork? Holly sat there staring at her sister, watching her curiously. She wasn't sure how she would take this, and the information that she passed to her seemed to make her slightly uncomfortable?
Holly closed her eyes and flicked her ears a little bit. She still wanted to go fishing, enjoy herself and do things that people could call enjoyable. But... She couldn't do just that! It would lose it's flavor, stop becoming enjoyable and just become the norm.
Holly didn't know what sort of life that Syre led outside of her studies, that test and the little bit that she saw going on around here. She had never met cassandra or the other things she had done. Jerking her head a little bit at her name being used she'd stare at her sister, rubbing at her eyes and finding her heart pounding in her chest.
"...Syre... I... I'll make sure to come back when and how I can. At the very least I'll write and make calls. I don't plan on just vanishing without a trace; I still.. Love everyone here but that's why I have to do this."
She'd sigh softly and lean her head back staring up along the door. She'd purse her lips a little bit and then stare at her sister. There was a moment of softness in her eyes and she'd slowly get up.
"I'll... I don't think Ma or Da would approve of this choice; but they didn't approve of the others without me making an 'educated' decision. But I'll... tell them when the time is right. Maybe after I do some work and get more comfortable into it I can bring it up to them but..."
She'd grin a little bit and move over to give her sister a big hug!
"I'm still your little sister... I just... Have something that I can do you know?"

"... Sovereign damn it, c'mere."
What else could Syre say? Holly promised to keep in touch, and showed her true feelings about this whole ordeal. It wasn't the future Syre expected for her, and heck, it probably wasn't the future that K nor Mikemon wanted to see for her. But it was a decision she had confidence in, one that she wanted to see through.
Syre woulds step forward - and just give her little sister a big ol' hug, tightly wrapping her arms around the Meicoomon's back. "A week from Friday, right? We'll enjoy every day up until then - and of course, you'll keep in touch with us after that." Syre gave a nod, a smile to her sister, as she would slowly let go, her eyes trailing down to that laundry basket.
"... Don't worry. I'll keep quiet. In return, you keep safe, alright?"

Holly let out a small somewhat cheerful giggle at Syre and gave her quite the firmest hig that you could expect from the meicoomon. She still enjoyed these sorts of things, honestly how could she not? It was certainly a huge step from their first hug now wasn't it?
The meicoomon's confidence of course also came from the fact she wouldn't be alone in this endevour and had support from not only one but both sides. As well as her own natural skills at the idea itself. She'd rest her head against syre for a few moments and flick her ears.
"Yeah, we'll have to play a bunch of games and go fishing and stuff!... Well aside from the training and studying we have to do hah!"
Holly grinned a little bit and followed where Syre was looking, after a few long moments they'd break the hug and the meicoomon moved to stash the letter in a more appropriate location, in one of her drawers underneath a whole swath of blank papers. If she could keep that hidden for up until she could get rid of it... well.
"I will don't worry okay? I won't be alone in this, I've already got someone that'll be looking out for me... And besides it's not like I'm going to be doing anything dangerous until I'm properly trained."
The meicoomon let out a small laugh and pushed the drawer in, even going so far as to unlock the door and opening it so her sister could get that laundry done...

"Heh. You're not allowed your studies to slack, sis!"
She gave a chuckle, butting her elbow gently into the Meicoomon's side as that hug eventually broke, the two sisters once more acting like, well, sisters! Giving a nod, she flashed a grin, even taking the courtesy to look away as the Meicoomon hid away that black letter. "Alright... and I can't help but worry, but what kind of sister would I be if I couldn't do that much? Though, if you're doing that... you may want to learn how to swim."
She just gave a tease, poking the Meicoomon's nose, as she picked up that basket and slipped out of the room. Holly would likely be left in good spirits... and Iris spoke up, if just for one comment.
Don't worry. You'll be able to keep in touch with them.

"Pft! Of course not!"
The meicoomon snickered a little bit and returned her sister's grin; she knew that syre likely still needed to continue studying for her schools and well... Holly herself? Her studies would be a little more focused; she had to make sure she was ready when she got there. Or as ready as she could be.
"You have a fair point honestly... Sovereigns know I worry about Ma and Da enough as it is when they're not around. Oh... yeah that. Probably would be a good idea."
The meicoomon sighed a little bit and flicked an ear watching her sister leave the room. She felt good about this and honestly... well. The next week would be something she'd spend lovingly, enjoying every moment with her family before leaving. An ear flicked and holly turned to look around her room, as though it seemed... foreign somehow.
I know. But I don't think it'll be as often as they'd like.
The meicoomon went back to her desk, running her paw along it before taking a seat. There was after all... Much more studying and training ahead of her.
