"You're absolutely correct--If they put enough work and effort, any Digimon can hit the next level in time. I guess the real question is how much time would it take, though..." The cat mused, before her ears perked up at the next question. "Well...I've only seen one of them before. See...What I've read on them is kind of...a complicated matter. Rasielmon is an angel that's capable of divining the future and fighting with the aid of the Five Elements. She's golden and pure. Which is a stark contrast from Raguelmon."
And much less of a difficult subject than the latter, really. "Raguelmon's a darker version of Rasielmon. A fallen angel that doesn't trust the world and fights other fallen angels to fix the problems they cause. I think both it and Rasielmon are like...two sides of the same coin. Like the legend of Megidramon and ChaosGallantmon--how they're actually just the same being but viewed differently. They're all Megas. A level above what I'm at, too."
What was Wakako like...? "Well...She's a girl that's trapped in this world, from what I know. She can't go back to the human world, so she hides as a Digimon. It's the fault of her spirits, I think...Which...kind of means that they're not always nice. Humans are...They're odd. They're so fragile, so...squishy, but they're capable of so much in this world. By all means, they shouldn't want to bother with this place but they do. They want to protect it."
Wow, they really were enjoying her explanations, huh? At least, the ones she felt sounded smart enough. The ones she felt okay with telling. "Uh...I mean, yes? It also spoils the endings of books for me, and...also sometimes shows me stuff I don't like." Mae's tone dropped a bit. She...was not about to tell the kids that it's a bit of a curse. Would that be appropriate? At all?

In the talk of Rasielmon and Raguelmon, Vulin and Fennel both seemed equally curious for the most part- though Rasielmon caught Vulin's attention more, and Fennel seemed to take some interest in Raguelmon. Rasielmon, on one hand, Vulin thought was pretty neato - someone who could control a bunch of elements, and could see the future? A digimon like that seemed pretty strong, and angel digimon are usually really nice, from what he's seen of them! On the other hand though, Fennel took interest in the antihero-esque role Raguelmon seemed to take - of being a fallen angel themselves yet fighting to fix the issues other fallen angels cause.
The idea of not trusting others too, well, Fennel related to that to a certain degree - though he wasn't one to dwell on it that much. It wasn't a part of himself that he liked thinking about - and he had to have at least a little bit of distrust after all, when Vulin was so trusting. Though whereas Fennel quietly contemplated it, Vulin would speak up. "They both sound like good digimon, even if Raguelmon's a bit darker, you can't really force someone to like other people..." Vulin mentioned with a thoughtful hum- adding "Though a Raguelmon might need someone who they can warm up to, yeah? It'd be kind of lonely to just not trust anyone at all..." It seemed Vulin was mostly pondering out loud, both to himself and to Mae - and looked to her curiously.
Vulin would visibly perk up as Mae talked about Wakako and humans, though - his eyes lighting up. "I wonder if being a human is like us being rookies - we can't fight a lot of big tough digimon- but we've been able to get by with more than just strength n' power!" He wondered out loud, adding "But that humans want to protect this place, even if they aren't that strong usually... They must be really good people!" Fennel though, unable to really hold back his distaste, would scoff audibly at this - if they want to do so much good, he thought they should just bug off, with all the trouble he's been told that they cause! And being supposedly so fragile and squishy - wouldn't they just be burden, or fodder for some bigger digimon, especially since most can't get stronger like digimon can? Vulin would notice this scoff and distaste though - and gave Fennel, well.... It could only be described as a look, not necessarily a disgruntled one, but more... A disappointed and confused, one. "Fennel," Vulin began - "Do you... not like humans?"
... A tense silence fell between the two twins - normally, disagreements were brushed over easily - even if they didn't agree on something, they could still get by, but for all Vulin could imagine... He couldn't really think of a reason why Fennel might dislike humans, since it never came up! And Fennel, well, never brought it up for that reason - knowing Vulin wouldn't understand, with how trusting and positive he was. Fennel would avoid meeting Vulin's gaze though, glancing aside and grumbling a bit to himself at his slip-up as he pulled his cloak around himself. "... Yeah, not a lot- does it matter?" He questioned defensively - and Vulin took a second, frowning, before trying to cast Mae a smile - nothing was wrong, right...? ... Yeah, it was all fine, just another disagreement- and even if Fennel disliked humans, he could still do all the talking! Vulin did his best to not let the awkward moment the two just had get him or the other two down, and instead would conclude "Well, humans seem like they're cool, anyways - I'd like to meet one someday!"
In Mae mentioning the downsides to seeing the future though, Vulin tilted his head and pondered it over. "I guess I never really thought of it like that... It sounds a bit like a double-edged sword then, I suppose?" He would mention, mostly in a rhetorical question - adding "I suppose it's like experiencing stuff, well, a little while before you actually experience it - whether it's good or not - and getting to experience bad things twice would be bad too..." As he mused this though, Vulin would wonder - "... Does that make sense? I'm just sort of.... Saying what comes to mind, I'm not usually a deep thinker like Fennel is..."

"It's a loneliness that I can...empathize with, really. Like I said, they're two sides of the same coin. Maybe Rasielmon feels the same thing?" Mae suggested, tapping her chin. How much of this would apply to her when that time came? Would she even still be herself? "From what I've seen...Yes. Humans are similar to rookies. They tend to be good, but there's always at least one that's...not so good." Mae admitted. She hadn't met a bad person yet. But she was bound to with her luck...
The cat noted Fennel's scoff as well. She didn't bring much attention to it, nor did the long silence really sit well with her. These were brothers, were they not? "I'd...ask why. But...Maybe it's not something you wish to talk about. I can respect that. I'll leave it at that, too."
On the subject of her foresight? "...Sure, I can predict the good things and the bad things. The latter often comes whether I want to see it or not--So, it makes sense. And it's okay to speak what's on your mind, I think. But at the same time, thinking also has it's merits."

Vulin would think for a moment, pondering Mae's remarks over loneliness and Rasielmon, before smiling up to Mae. "Well... if I meet a Rasielmon, I'll try to be their friend, then...!" He decided happily, adding "And I'll still be your friend if you become a Rasielmon, too! Being lonely is never fun... I never like being apart from Fennel." Vulin would gently, almost affectionately, nudge Fennel - who would chuckle and nudge Vulin back in response.
As for humans being a lot like rookies, and there being bad apples among the bunch... Vulin would hum audibly, rocking side to side as he thought to himself. That all made sense to him, there's good and bad digimon too! "Do humans have their own form of digivolving, like us, even if they're not as strong as us normally?" Vulin asked curiously, adding after a second "And where do they come from?"
As for the disagreement, though- Fennel would take a second before quietly nodding at Mae mentioning the subject of humans - it was a bit of an awkward subject, given the moment the two had before, and so he didn't want to talk about his reasonings too much. All of that aside though, he stood firmly by his ideas - Mae may be pleasant, but he'd more readily believe in the older digimon he grew up with than someone who was still more or less a stranger or acquaintance to him; not to mention she seemed to only know one human. What if she just had a lucky encounter?
Vulin would quickly chirp up though, mentioning "We disagree on things sometimes, but it's all fine, Mae." to try and reassure Mae - smiling a bit. They couldn't agree on everything, though this bit was something that didn't sit entirely well with himself either- sure, Fennel didn't like strangers too much, but did he really not like humans that much...? Hm...
Well, in any case... As for Mae's future-telling, Vulin would nod understandingly. "Fennel's usually the smarter one, while I'm more the muscles, eheh- we cover each others' weaknesses and all!" He mentioned with a smile, "But I mean, I got my ideas too, despite what some people think." Fennel would nod in confirmation - before smiling a bit to Vulin and adding with a hint of humor "You just run off with any idea you get instead of thinking it over, ya dork." with a playful punch on the shoulder. Vulin would laugh and let himself lean with the punch, before leaning back towards Fennel to gently headbutt him in response - playful, calm roughhousing - as much of an oxymoron as it may be, "Yeaaaaah, ahaha!"

"I figured you will--you seem like...the kind of person that doesn't leave people behind. The kind of 'mon that sticks by his friends in tough times." The kind of person that Mae felt like she wanted to be, really. A friend. She sort of felt like the rapport she had been building with these two was solidifying by the second.
Even if she couldn't really grasp what having a sibling would be like. "Uh...Humans kind of don't digivolve. Normally. They just...get bigger. And bigger. Then they start getting old. I dunno, I haven't gotten the chance to see that with a human yet." The cat nodded.
So...disagreements were normal for a pair of twins? Huh. "Well...I hope it's fine. It kind of looks like a natural part of life. Eventually you'll find yourself disagreeing with something...Hm. I guess I'm a bit of muscles and also smarts--though one usually takes prevalence over the others. Running with ideas isn't bad! Usually!" The cat was trying to restrain laughter at the twins' roughhousing.
She was failing.

"Yeah!" Vulin would nod and smile brightly. He liked to think of himself like that - he wanted to be that reliable 'mon that is always there for his friends, through thick and thin! He wasn't about to leave his friends behind in tough situations. "You kinda seem like the sort of friend that's like... Experienced? You're older, so you can talk to and teach us younger 'mons about stuff!" Fennel, similarly, seemed to share these sentiments; nodding quietly. Even if he didn't befriend others as easily, loyalty was a valuable trait - and he wasn't gonna leave others behind, at least, he was sure he wouldn't. If things got dangerous, his friends would be ones to back off too, right? And Mae, even if she seemed to be a bit on the loner side, seemed to at least have the experience that comes with being an Ultimate of all things.
At the idea of humans not really digivolving or changing though, Vulin seemed a bit puzzled. "Really? That seems kind of odd, but... Kinda interesting too." He remarked, going into thought. "Does that mean they're the same the whole time, beyond getting bigger n older? I can't imagine what it'd be like not being able to change n' adapt... Hrm..." "I guess like being stuck as a rookie?" Fennel suggested maybe a hair dryly, though thoughtfully nonetheless; trying to at least humor Vulin's fascination with humans. "I guess!" Vulin chirped in response.
With Mae's laughter at the twins' antics though, they'd pause to glance at Mae... Before the two began laughing with, Vulin playfully headbutting Mae in the side and asking "Hey, what do you look like as a rookie like us, by the way? Can we see?" with a happy laugh. Fennel's laughter on the other hand was calmer, somewhere between a chuckle and a snicker; but similarly good-natured. It seemed he was starting to grow properly comfortable with Mae, looking more relaxed and at ease near her.

"Aha...I...Regret to tell you this then, but I'm not really that old! I mean...Maybe I am? I'm not that good at telling how much time goes by. But I do think I can sort of teach you stuff if you want. I've never been a teacher before..." What would that be like, hm? That's a question for the cat to find the answer to sooner or later.
"It's a different kind of evolving. It's like...That. I don't get what it's like either but...mmm...Think of it as being stuck in rookie." Wait, did they really want to see what she looked like at that level? That was honestly a little scary...
Then again, these kids showed little to no fear when it came to her. At least, Vulin didn't. "If you say so..." The Meicrackmon took a deep breath before she was enveloped in a bright light, shrinking down a slight bit to reveal...
A Keramon. A far cry from what may have been expected, but something still within the realms of possibility. "...This is Keramon. Do you know what those are?"

At hearing Mae wasn't actually all that old, Vulin would thoughtfully tilt his head. "Oh- I, well, didn't really mean it like you were that old... Just that you've probably got a bunch more experience than us, y'know?" He clarified- before adding with a bright smile "But I'd love to learn from you, learning new stuff is always great; and I'm sure you'd do great too! Right, Fennel?" Fennel would quietly nod his agreement, casting a small smile in Mae's direction.
As far as Mae's rookie form went though, the two kids would take pause for a second, curiously tilting their heads. Fennel, on one hand, was a little cautious initially, but seemed to quickly relax. Though Vulin, being the ray of sunshine that he was, seemed utterly enthused - "I don't think we've met a digimon like that before, but this form kind of looks like another in-training we knew before we left ElDoradimon - they were a Tsumemon!" He chirped happily, bouncing closer to get a better look at Mae's Keramon form - at one point playfully batting at one of her antennae with a giggle.
"It's really different from your Ultimate form, but it's still cool!" Vulin would mention - and then came the questions. "Hey... Can you float anywhere you like with that form? Are these spots under your chin here eyes, too? Do your antennae feel anything - maybe I shouldn't have batted at them, but they looked so dangly and fun to poke at at the time..." Fennel would just chuckle and approach to gently bap Vulin on the head - "Don't drown her in questions, Vulin." He mentioned with a light, teasing smile - it was clear he was just poking a little fun at Vulin, and the Vorvomon understood this; gently laughing and responding with a small raspberry in Fennel's direction.

Okay, that was something Mae was pretty sure she was able to understand a little better. That was nice. "Of course! I think we can each teach other a thing or two." A mutual exchange of knowledge. Knowledge of the skies, and knowledge of the ground. The Keramon nodded a few times. "Indeed. This form evolves from Tsumemon and Kuramon. From what I can read...This form's usually the child form of some particular digimon. Argomon, Diaboromon...to name two. As you saw, Meicoomon's another possible line for a Keramon."
She was unsure of what else to tell them. Really, Keramon was as bad an omen as Meicoomon but it was a form that had existed longer. The squid shook her head. "No, I can't really float. I can stretch real far, but that's about it. My antennae do feel but it's...a lot of things. The poke wasn't bad, trust me. Uh...I think they'd be way more sensitive if I was blind or something. Like a Strikedramon."

"That'd be great!" Vulin grinned and nodded in agreement with them teaching eachother things - it made sense, they both came from different parts, right? He already learned that there's a nice Impmon in that one forest, and about humans, and some other things - and she learned about stuff like ElDoradimon! "Do you know any cool or fun tricks? Like, uhhhhh-" He trailed off and paused to think for a few seconds, before perking up "Oh, like, I may not be able to fly for very long - but I'm good at gliding, and I like doing little tricks while I'm gliding around!"
When the two virus digimon came up though, Vulin would perk a little in recognition. "I think I've heard of Argomon before! I've heard they're pretty spooky..." He mentioned, asking for clarification "They're like.... Really viney, with eye markings, right?" Vulin would glance to Fennel, who nodded his confirmation - and Vulin would only smile brighter at seeming to be on the right track! "And Diaboromon, I think we've seen one pass thru the city once, though that was a long time ago... Saya had us stay out of their way when it happened, but I was still able to see a bit of them, they were super tall!" He couldn't quite recall where they were from or why they visited, but then again tons of digimon visited the city sometimes just because, given ElDoradimon's elusive and constantly-nomadic nature - or to hitch a ride on the traveling turtle-digimon, even!
As for the talk of the antennae and Strikedramon though, Vulin would perk and nod. "Oh! That makes sense- like when you taste things differently if you plug your nose, or you hear better with your eyes closed!" He smiled and nodded a second time - before continuing "And how far can you stretch? Is it like - super far? Can we see, if it's not too much?" He figured that there's a chance that it was a tiring thing to do too - sometimes stretching stuff was hard, so he didn't want her to tire herself out or hurt herself! But if this was something easy for her, he was still curious about how far she could reach out too - being able to stretch yourself out seemed handy to him!

"I know one trick. That trick is...the one I just told you about, eheh." The Keramon proceeded to stretch her arms out and...also her torso. It was only then one could see truly noodley this species of Digimon was. As she returned to her normal size, she nodded. "They're humanoids with plant stuff. Diaboromon are similar but also...Really noodley, like this form."
She really couldn't stretch that far. But it was enough to reach most things. She idly stretched her arm out again to see how far it could go. And...She found it could encircle Vulin with little issue! Huh. Mae promptly recalled her arm and shrugged. "Well, I'm wide awake now...You guys were exploring the ruins, right? Want some company?"

Vulin and Fennel would both watch with mutual curiosity as Mae began to stretch herself out every which way; the twins had difficulty properly figuring out in their heads just how she was able to do that without hurting herself - though Fennel figured there must be some sort of elastic property to her body for this to be manageable. Still, it was pretty impressive for the duo when she would encircle Vulin with the arm, the young Vorvomon lightly poking at her arm with a soft giggle before she recalled it. "So cool...!" Vulin mentioned in a soft, awed tone - smiling widely. "That must be super handy, for reaching into tight spots n high up places!" Fennel nodded his agreement - he could see the applications it could have in a fight as well, and faintly wondered how strong a digimon might have to be to break free of being wrapped up by those stretchy limbs.
When Mae offered to come with the duo though, the two perked immediately. Mae was proving to be very pleasant company as it was; and though she wasn't one to fight, the idea of having an Ultimate-level digimon by their side was still very comforting, in the event they ran into some big ol' nasty digimon! Fennel would be the one to speak up this time, explaining "Yeah, we were mostly hanging n searching around the edges, cause it seemed safer that way - less chance of being ambushed by something... But we weren't really finding anything interesting either, given that it was the fringes - plenty of looters have probably gone thru these old buildings a hundred times over already." He scratched the back of his head a bit, glancing out towards the deeper parts of the town ruins, mentioning thoughtfully "With you watching our backs though, maybe we'd have some better luck going deeper in?"
This seemed to make Vulin perk up as well - "Yeah! Maybe we'd have more luck finding something cool if we actually went further in, then!" He agreed - before grinning over to Mae, adding in question "Do you know anything in particular about these ruins, Mae?" as the duo began to walk, heading further into the ruins as they mentioned before. "When we were first approaching the ruins, me n' Fennel noticed there's that big temple-y building over there - " He paused to gesture with a wing to the single actually intact-looking building of the ruins, the distant temple that loomed over everything else "- though Fennel said it gave him a weird feeling, when I suggested the two of us checking it out." Fennel nodded his confirmation - he wasn't sure if it'd necessarily be safe enough to head into the building, even with Mae at their side, with the gut feeling he had. But maybe if she felt confident enough, then he could tolerate at least checking out the first sections of that building... Who knew? Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he thought it to be at first - it wouldn't be the first time that his caution proved him wrong, as much as he didn't like to admit it.

"Pfftheheh...It kind of is!" The Keramon found herself giggling--her mood actually matching her eerie smile for once. More importantly, the twins seemed really receptive towards her offer of company. That was good. It meant she was somewhat improving from being her usual anti-social self.
"Yeah, that...tends to be the case with ruins like these. It's a double edged sword. Further in you go, the more likely you find a cool thing. But...Um. Also you find scary people."
When asked about the ruins... "...I don't know much about this place. Just the outside and...That's it. The temple itself gave me that feeling too. So I just stayed here. But...If you want I can accompany you into it?"

The duo would both nod at the offer to accompany them - "I don't know if I necessarily feel confident going into the temple..." Fennel admitted, "... but having a digimon that can reach Ultimate by our side, even if you're not one for fighting, is pretty comforting." Vulin would smile and nod in agreement, adding on "Yeah! I'm sure we'll be fine if we just stick together - so c'mon, lets go!" The rambunctious Vorvomon would bounce off - and Fennel would glance in Vulin's direction, before smiling and sighing to Mae. "That's Vulin for you - an unstoppable ball of energy." Fennel remarked humorously, before casually jogging off to keep pace with his brother. He would occasionally glance back to make sure Mae was keeping pace as well, though; as well as to keep an eye on everything around them.
The duo would begin to trek towards the center of the ruins - idly searching thru buildings as they went. Fennel wasn't sure if they'd find anything quite yet - maybe only in the deepest parts of the ruins, or the temple itself - but it was still interesting examining the buildings and wondering what they might've been once long ago. Vulin, similarly, didn't necessarily know if they'd find anything until they got deeper in, but he wanted to look anyways, cause who knew what might be hiding in some nook or cranny? All the while though, the duo remained aware of their surroundings, making sure that there was nothing in their midst waiting to jump out at them...
Though as they walked, Fennel would glance up to Mae and walk alongside her; seeming to be the social one this time, having been growing accustomed to Mae's presence whereas Vulin was, well, distracted by his surroundings. "What brought you out here to these ruins, and the desert in general, if it's okay for me to ask?" He questioned - visibly curious - adding "Your fur as a Meicrackmon seems like it'd be ill suited for the hot desert... At least during the day, that is."

"He did have a point. Strength in numbers does in fact exist." The Keramon noted, before she slithered off after the duo. If anything she was likely less a fighter and more a guardian angel. One that these twins decided to bring along. The Keramon had made sure to keep pace with Vulin, something she was oddly enough capable of doing.
She was a little surprised at Fennel actually asking her a question this time. So much that it took her a moment to come up with a plausible answer, too. "Well...I usually move around at night. I came to the desert because it was a place I hadn't explored much. The last time I was here, I ended up accidentally getting a tamer and her Tinkermon involved in a fiasco involving a village and a digimental. That was...ah...awkward. So. Any idea what may lie at the center?"
Mae was hoping it was not a dragon.
