"They get a lot weirder when you realize they're essentially computer-aliens. Anzu hates it when I say that, though." Akemi snickered at her own joke, while Anzu gave a pout.
The viral bean, on the other hand, noticed Cheeto's wings drooping. Uh, okay, maybe this was a time where she had to try being empathetic? Was that it? "Hey, uh...Maybe if you ever see Lopmon again, she'll understand what happened. I'd say it's pretty normal...And yes, Terminus is a pretty big city. Luckily, I have a...uh. Vague knowledge of it." The Tsukaimon said, with a pretty confident look on her face that was promptly shattered by...
"You know the one time we went, we got lost five separate times, right?" Akemi noted, before looking at Jen. "...Would you believe me if I told you that Anzu brought the camera and it's in my Infini-Store?"

Computer aliens, were they? Jen’s first impulse was to think of something funny to compare that to, but she drew a blank.
Cheeto went right back to his cheerful self before Anzu even finished her sentence. “Really? Maybe we can go find her! Jen, can we--?”
Akemi stepped in to clarify.
“Oh.” But he was soon smiling again. “Can we still go? I wanna explore!”
“Maybe next time we’re at the train station.” She was curious about this other world herself, to be honest.
“Yaaaay!”
Jen turned to Akemi. “I admit I've never heard of an Infini-Store, but sure. I’m a tamer now. I’ve heard weirder.” She paused to stand her backpack up, as it had fallen over. “What I was saying was, if we can just get some string or a rope or something...maybe we could set it on a timer and throw it in. See what it takes a picture of.” She looked at the ground, feeling a little embarrassed. “I have no idea if that’ll work, but...maybe it’s worth a try.”

"We could, yes, but I'm not sure where we'd be looking. There's only...so many Lopmon, you know?" Akemi replied to Cheeto. "Plus, there's also the five separate times getting lost thing. But, maybe we'll get better with this, maybe not? Who knows." Anzu, meanwhile, was all for this. "Heck yeah we can go! Unless you just wanna go with your tamer, that's fine too."
Would be a bit of a bummer not going exploring with the only Patamon she had met so far but it was something Anzu'd be able to understand. Akemi meanwhile fixed her hat. She had something to try explaining. "It's basically a little box that's way bigger on the inside." She reached into a pocket on her blouse (that's weird) and pulled out a small cube that quickly grew to the size of her hand. Then she reached into it and withdrew a camera. "...It's waterproof. So, got any rope or string to use here?"

“Hmm…” Cheeto scrunched up where his eyebrows would be in thought. “She said she has an aputt...apartment there. But Terminus is really big.” He unscrunched his face and jumped into the air at Anzu’s proposal. “Sure you can come! We can all explore together!” The more, the merrier!
Jen stared in awe for a few moments, then nodded. “Okay. So it’s basically an endless bag. That’s...really cool, actually.” Sounded pretty darn useful, too; she’d have to look into getting one.
There was a bit of a pause. “Actually, I was hoping you’d have some. But maybe I have something similar! Let’s see here.” She crouched down to the level of her backpack and started digging through it. “Phone, wallet, keys...plastic bag...oh, yeah!” She pulled out a tangled mess of tape measure. It had no container, so it had the appearance of a long, floppy ruler. “Forgot I had this!” A coworker had requested it a couple weeks back for reasons Jen couldn’t remember. “But we’d have to attach it to the camera somehow…maybe this?” She pulled out a roll of blue painters tape, also requested by a coworker. “This should hold, right?”

"Oh...I take it you don't know the exact address to the apartment? Or maybe the Lopmon's name, if she has one..." There were, of course, several things to consider with Cheeto's predicament, though at the same time, maybe there wasn't much fruit to bear with this situation. Just a loose end for Jen and her friend to potentially mend.
Akemi nodded towards Jen. "More or less. Though, it's...less a bag and more a box. A tiny box that's way larger on the inside." She explained as the woman rifled through her backpack to reveal...A mess of tape measure, and subsequently a roll of painters tape.
This was going to be haphazard as all hell, but Akemi took a long and hard look at the materials they had on hand already. "It should, yes! Now, let's see..." If allowed, Akemi was going to move to grab the materials from Jen and start...cobbling them together. If the lady offered help, it would most certainly be accepted. Now, what could possibly come from this?

Jen looked at Cheeto. “Does she have a name? Other than Lopmon?”
Cheeto’s face scrunched so hard it was like there was a whirlpool there. “Uuuum...no, I don’t think so.” Suddenly, he got a big smile on his face. “Ooh! But she does have her ears all tied up in the back! And one of her horns is stubby instead of pointy.” The fact that she apparently had horns was no surprise to Jen at this point.
Jen nodded at Akemi’s explanation. “I see. Still, it sounds pretty useful.”
Once she recognized Akemi’s intentions, she stepped aside to let her take the materials. She figured the setup was simple enough: tape the measuring tape to the camera. But after a few seconds of staring blankly, she realized she probably should offer to help, shouldn’t she? “You need any help with that? Maybe I can hold the tape?”

Tied up at the back...It was clear that both the tamer and her digimon were doing their best to visualize this. It...seemed far more distinct than the average Lopmon would be. Would they find out who she was if they bothered to go look? A question for another time, no doubt!
"A single stubby horn...I bet there's a story behind that." Anzu noted. Akemi nodded once more towards Jen. "It is, but you also need to keep the inside organized. Just because it can hold a lot doesn't mean it'll sort itself out....I think. I...need to check later." She admitted.
As for piecing their haphazard contraption together? Yes, she could do this herself, but help always made things a little quicker. She offered the tape to Jen. "Sure, uh...Just hold it while I get everything secure here..." ...Would this even hold together? That was anyone's guess.

Jen nodded. “Makes sense. Bigger bag doesn’t necessarily mean more organized.” Plus, even with only a few things in the bag, the sheer amount of space might still make things harder to find.
She held the tape still, just as Akemi said to, as Akemi got everything ready. And she watched as this bundle of random junk turned into...well, still a bundle of random junk, but the junk was attached together. Once it was all arranged, it was time for the test. “Okay...here goes.”
She grabbed the strange contraption by the tape measure, letting the camera fall. And surprisingly, it didn’t immediately fall apart. “Great, so all we have to do is—“ She stopped short. “Oh, shoot, does it have a timer?” That was kind of an important part of her plan. But even if it didn’t have a timer, well...Cheeto still had a poor grasp of what germs were. He would likely be willing to press that button himself.

"Precisely!" Akemi replied. It was a good thing she didn't actually leave too much stuff in the Infini-Store. Losing it after that would be quite perilous. Once they had completed their work, Akemi and Jen were the proud creators of a pile of junk stuck together. And with all of that tape? It'd definitely hold together.
As the camera fell and Jen inquired, Akemi seemed to realize that...Nope, they didn't set that timer at all. "...It does but we didn't do anything with it. My mistake, sadly." This wasn't entirely hopeless, however. "...We should try bringing it back up after a while before trying again, if nothing actually happens. Or send someone in..."

Jen took a second to process. "Oh, yeah. We probably should have hit the timer BEFORE we covered the thing in tape." When listening to Akemi's suggestions, she was met with a twinge of confusion. "I mean, that's why we would need the timer, right? So we could take a--"
"Send someone in?"
Jen looked down at Cheeto. "Oh! Uh, yeah. If someone wants to go in..." She motioned towards the river, a twinge of disgust in her voice. "...there...they could hold on to the camera and press the shutter when it's time."
"That sounds fun!" Cheeto said. "Can I go?"
Jen froze. "I...are you sure? It'll probably be even smellier in there."
"I still wanna see it! It's okay if it's smelly."
Jen took another look into the murky, murky trench. "I mean, if you're sure...but remember what Akemi said about germs?"
"I'll Boom Bubble the germs away!" Before Jen could say that's not exactly how it works, Cheeto was flying right towards the river.
"Wait!"
Cheeto turned around.
"If you really want to do this, you need the camera." She held out the camera portion of the junk pile, and Cheeto grabbed it with his stubby front legs. "Of course, it's not too late to change your mind."
"I wanna go in!!!"
Clearly, there was no changing his mind, so Jen looked back at Akemi and Anzu. "How about we all hold the measuring tape? For insurance?"

"Take a picture or a vi--...Yes." Akemi glanced to Cheeto. "If that someone wants to brave the garbage and the like to hold on to the camcorder, then they're welcome to." She stated, quite plainly. What struck her as odd was Cheeto's willingness, insistence even to go in there just to hit that timer.
"You're a pretty brave Patamon, you know that?" Anzu just saw this as a lot of courage, meanwhile. The drive to go on and put yourself out there. Something she could respect. As Cheeto sealed his fate and grabbed the camera, Akemi looked to Jen and gave a nod, Anzu moving to grab hold of the tape with her own stubby legs along with Akemi.
"Sounds like a good plan, now let's see if this works."
When they began to extend the pile towards the portal, with Cheeto attached, however, they would quickly find that the portal...was a tad more attractive than they thought. As it began to pull the contraption and all those holding onto it towards it quite...roughly. They could stand their ground, right?

Right, cameras could also take videos, couldn’t they? But it was a bit late to change plans, because Cheeto was already determined to carry out their current one.
“Yaaaay!” he said, making a dash for the camera and grabbing it with his mouth. He turned his head around, camera still in mouth, as Anzu called him brave, and he let out a muffled “Thank you”. Brave. He liked the sound of that.
Jen saw Akemi’s nod and grabbed onto the tape herself.
Alright, she thought. Here goes.
At first, things went according to plan. Jen, Akemi, and Anzu began lowering the tape line into the water while Cheeto pulled the camera along. But once Cheeto was close to the water, Jen felt...a tug. Like instead of Cheeto at the other end, there was larger than average fish. Or a whale.
Jen did her best to keep her feet planted on the ground, but she was no athlete. And the pull only got stronger and stronger. So within a few seconds, she started having trouble. She found herself dragged forward, mounds of dirt forming at her feet. And finally…
“AAH!”
She was uprooted, rocketed toward the murky river. She tried to think of a way to grab onto something, but nope, it was too flat around there. All she could do was close her eyes and brace herself. And try not to think about the grossness in front of her.
But what would await on the other side of it?
