"M.. mmh?"
Much opposed to Tawna, Mikemon had been sleeping like a brick of lead, until he heard a knocking at the door. Perhaps a couple of years ago, he would have slept right through it - but after watching Syre and Holly, well, he had to learn otherwise. Thankfully, Tawna would soon hear the sound of shifting inside, the unlocked door soon clicking open, Mikemon vacantly looking in the direction of the Meicoomon.
"Hol-" Wait, no. No, that wasn't Holly, this was Tawna.
A distraught Tawna, who couldn't hide the look of fear in her eyes.
The moment Mikemon realized that, it 'clicked', the doctor suddenly alert and awake. There was only one reason Tawna would be here:
"... What happened to Haru?"

Tawna was... well, more than a bit exasperated. She was positive she wasn't just panicking for nothing... She seriously had looked everywhere for where the damned Salamon was, but there was just no sign of them. The kitchen was a bust, nor the recreational rooms of the library... and Haru wouldn't have just left without saying anything, right? "I... I can't find her." the Meicoomon muttered, trying to catch her breath. "She said she'd have let me know if she needed to leave and do something... So uh... I'm a touch worried."
All things considered, she wasn't full-blown hysteria yet. She was trying to keep her cool, trying to rationalize what was maybe going on. "I... I dunno. She could be sleepwalking or something? I mean, she seemed fine today... and she definitely didn't ever do anything weird back in the human world." she mumbled as she clutched her forehead, trying to shake off the headache she was now getting.
Her inner pessimist was screaming at her, but she was trying to stay in high-spirits. There had to be a logical explanation to this... It wasn't healthy to just assume the worst, but she was still worried for the girl's safety.
Haru tasted chicken. This was about the only thing going on in her dozed and generally sluggish mind right now. It was honestly a very nice and pleasant-feeling, one that soothed her senses.
It was only as the girl slowly became lucid did she start to recognize something was off. She didn't feel like she was even in her own body... Was this what they called an out-of-body experience? It would take her a moment to see through her blurry and relaxed vision something pink.
The panicked and utterly terrified face of a Biyomon, one squawking under her paws. Meicoomon paws.
Almost immediately, Haru felt control of her body snap back into play... she feeling the Rookie trying to desperately push her off, her surprise at being stuck in such a position giving the bird a chance to claw at her face before immediately flying away somewhat weakly... bloodied feathers dropping from its body. Needless to say, it really fucking hurt as Haru grasped at her face in pain.
Not even moments later, a dull and malice-filled feminine voice ringed in her head... It practically dripping with irritation at her.
You just HAD to wake up now, thief...

Right now, Tawna wore her heart on her sleeve. She was panicking, she was scared, she was worried, and she didn't know what to do. His first thought was that Haru was somehow hurt, but what the Meicoomon said was even more concerning.
She couldn't find her.
At that very note, Mikemon gave a nod, and even as Tawna continued to talk, considering a few reasons, Mikemon's eyes narrowed in focus. He gave a quick glance to Tawna, scanning her data signal as a base, before looking up, slowly casting his vision down through the building. With his talent for scanning data, he quickly ruled out floor after floor, room after room...
And by the time he had reached the base of the building, only twelve seconds later, he gave a 'tsk' with his teeth. There were only two Meicoomon in the library: the one right before his eyes, and Holly, sleeping peacefully a few rooms off to the right.
"Sovereign fucking damn it. She's not in the Library." Concern beginning to hike in his own head, Mikemon moved right for a window, the light of Digivolution glowing around him as Beastmon appeared in the doctor's place. They clicked the window open, the ultimate's eyes turning towards Tawna. "Hitch a ride on a tail if you're coming. I don't care how long it takes, I'm scanning the entire Network Plains if I have to."

In retrospect, maybe it was smarter to have tried and find Mikemon first considering how potent his scanning ability was... but crap on a shingle. If HE couldn't find Haru here, then there was no way she could have been still here.
Tawna didn't even hesitate as Mikemon took on his more... feminine form of Beastmon, she fairly quickly hitching a ride one of their twin tails. "Damn it... I should have been more careful! I thought we were gonna be in the clear, but the moment I let my guard down..." the Champion level growled as she managed to climb on to the demon cat's shoulder as she grit her teeth. "Okay... You know more about what that Hunter chick who ate Haru was like, right? My only guess if I were a damn near feral hellspawn would be to find something small, weak, and isolated."
It wasn't like it was an alien mindset to Tawna. You could take her out of the wild, but you couldn't completely take the wild out of her.
Haru had a look of equal parts shock and disgust... That voice was not something physically heard, but something that resonated within her heart. As if on que, Haru could see the mental image of a Meicrackmon Vicious Mode... and from the Ultimate's point of view, herself... a Meicoomon. You really ask alot of obvious questions. What did you think I was doing? I was trying to get a meal.
It was instantly recognizable who this cat was... How could she forget? Well, she did forget... but seeing those red schlera gazing down at her echoed dark memories being skewered and subsequently drunk as if with a straw. Still, she couldn't let fear take hold of her... Not after everything everyone has done for her! "Th-That was a person you know, right?!"
It probably was not surprising that the spectral Hunter merely sneered at Haru's excusations, as if actually offended by the. It was just a Rookie. They would have been just easy prey if you didn't screw it up. they mused, before Haru felt her arms move themselves... she reflexively bearing her fangs. Well? Go chase after them! We can still get them if we hurry before they get away! They're bleeding, so they can't get too far!
"Wh-What? Hell no! I'm not gonna chase after some poor, innocent Digimon just to satisfy your sick cravings!" Haru retaliated... this time bearing her fangs by her own volition, glaring at seemingly nothing were someone else have stumbled on the scene.
Haru finally had a chance to get a chance to see her surroundings. Network Plains, definitely... though they appeared to be now hiding out in some hollowed out cavern that was built into the side of a hill, with only moonlight illuminating the dim lighting. Haru felt her tendrils seemingly moving on their own, which she quickly put a stop to by grabbing hold of the things. "Damn it, stop that!"
The spectral Hunter let out a slight snarl... though they were surprised by the display of will this fake Digimon had. She would have thought it to be easy to overpower them, but whatever that bastard human woman did to her denied her of such potential. You wouldn't last a second against a real. Digimon. Oh wait.
Whether they liked it or not, neither had much privacy in this body. Haru had the most control over it, but neither's thoughts or feelings were hidden from the other... much to their combined disgust.

As Tawna carefully perched herself on the Beastmon's shoulder, the ultimate bounded outward, away from the window, before breaking off into a sprint. Their eyes were focused, ears held high to try and pick up on any errant noise in the area. Whether it was through their data tracking, ears, or even their sense of smell, the doctor was intent on tracking down Haru.
"Don't beat yourself up over it. Not now, at least." The doctor's retort was blunt, intent on putting their focus on the task at hand. "I only know what Cassandra told me, but for a feral Meicoomon, that sounds about right. Keep your head up, Tawna."
They gave a nod: "Its only been about two hours. That's not even long enough to get to Terminus, and there's very little around that would try and hurt her."
In that much, they were confident. Hitting what she thought was a good 'middle range', about a mile or so outward, the Beastmon would turn left and start to cut a wide circle around the library. "Keep your eyes open for me. I'm only paying attention to data signals and sounds - you tell me if you catch anything with your eyes and nose!"

The doctor's words were sound and in a way calming. Tawna was put at ease somewhat. Cold logic at least bought them the comfort that they couldn't have gone too far... It was just a matter of figuring out where the damn cat went that still needed to be figured out. "Will do." Tawna agreed with the Beastmon's request, she keeping a keen eye out for anything odd.
"... I don't get it though... Why now? This is the first time since that initial freakout she has done anything this weird!" Tawna mused, the emerald-eyed maine coone trying her best to understand what was going on. Was bringing Haru to the Digital World to blame? It was too soon to tell, first their priority was to find something to get on the trail.
A bleeding, injured Biyomon attempting to run though? Yeah, that looked suspicious. Beastmon could probably catch the data signature of the fleeing Rookie off in the distance
Haru really was not happy about this. The last thing she wanted to wake up to was her sleep-hunting while the murderous psychopath cat that killed her tried hijacking her body!
I'm not psychopathic the Hunter refuted, which was enough to cause Haru to actually make a slight outburst.
"Trying to eat people IS psychopathic!" the Meicoomon raised her paws into the air, her blue-eyes occasionally gleaming red though predominantly remaining under Haru's control. The former human was to say the least pissed... a rarity for someone like her. She might not consider herself to be as smart as the other members of the Field Club... but damn it, she believed in herself that she was a good person! Haru let out a slight snarl as she soon enough began to make her way out of the cave.
There you go... Birdie definitely ran left, so... Hey, jackass! You're going the wrong way! Stay on the trail! The consciousness of the Hunter initially tried to say, for a moment believing that this fake Digimon was at least listening for once, but they were moving not directly towards that irresistible scent of blood.
"I'm NOT going the wrong way... I'm going back to the library. Not indulging on some jerk's desire for chicken!" Haru somewhat nastily jabbed back at the Hunter, shaking her head. She was getting a damn headache from all this... Was she EVER gonna get a break? For once, Haru felt hate towards someone. "I'm not gonna even try believing there is any good in you... You killed me and tried to kill my friends and sister!"
So? The Hunter retaliated, though their attitude was now more sulking recognizing that they were no longer in control of the situation now. She honestly was at this point half paying attention to her host, averting their mental gaze from her. I was just doing my job. I was told to keep people out.
Haru herself was also not really giving the Hunter her full attention either... They didn't even deserve it! "Well, you did a really shitty job at it! You went too far, and paid the price!"
Blah blah blah.

"... I'll speculate on it later. But when we find her, Tawna, be careful - she might not be in the best state of mind."
Mikemon didn't want to outright say it, that the slim ten percent chance had happened so soon, but the Meicoomon along for the ride might pick up on it if she read a little bit into the Beastmon's tone. Fortunately (for them, at least), the tone would not settle on that for very long: a flick of the ear, and the Beastmon would briefly cast their gaze skyward, seeing a struggling Biyomon try to keep itself in the air.
Had they been doing anything else, the Beastmon would have turned to try and help the pour thing. But Haru came first, and the last thing that pink bird probably wanted to see was another cat, much less the Meicoomon on the cat's shoulder.
"If she's veering slightly right because of that wing..." The doctor's calculation was mechanical, pivoting to make a turn to follow the Biyomon's most likely flight trial. They reasoned that the Biyomon would have probably flown as fast as it could, as straight as it could, to escape whatever it was fighting.
It would, at the very least, put them right on track to find that cavern!

"She wasn't exactly in the best state of mind LAST time I needed your help..." Tawna somewhat snidely spoke, though it was mostly just a way for her to calm her own nerves. Only slightly, but it helped. It was just a matter of tracking down their errant runaway patient... Not a particularly easy task, but she felt like they were on the right track.
The doctor was fortunately not the only one to notice the injured pink bird... Too suspicious of an occurrence to be simply ignored. If that vile demon cat had any influence over Haru, it fortunately did not seem to be a flawless 1:1 translation. The Hunter... They had some bloody experience as a fighter... That Biyomon would have been dead if the Hunter were in control. "Well, if they couldn't even catch a Rookie..." the Meicoomon mused before shaking her head. "Forget it... Keep moving doc!"
For the most part, you'd perhaps imagine that the exchanges between Haru and the Hunter were of a similar caliber as previously. Indeed; as Haru travelled through out of the cavern and back out into the moonlit plains, neither side was particularly enjoying the other's presence. Attempts by the Hunter to try and grab control forcefully from Haru proved futile beyond annoying the former human, she returning each attempt with snarls of frustration.
"For the last time, NO! If I need to get sedated or something by Mikemon, I will!" the Champion level angrily yelled at the phantasmal figure in her head. "More importantly, why are you here now?"
Don't look at me... I literally just woke up! I just wanted a damn snack... Revenge can come later!
"Revenge my fanny... Tawna was more well-behaved than you were when I first met her, and she felt the need to prey on all the birds around my house and store them in my underwear drawer!" Haru exclaimed, shaking her head. She was only finally recognizing that she was... well, being excessively loud. To those that could hear her, she'd probably sound like a raving loon with such a display. Just... Please, just go back to sleep you... you jerk!
No... You should have been the one to disappear, not me! the Hunter snapped back, though their frustration was only met with failure realizing that this was just the two of them arguing to no avail. This lack of control... It disgusted her. This was her body...
For now, the pair of minds went silent... fuming at their own anger and hatred of the other.

Honestly, Mikemon almost hoped that the injured Biyomon came from the Meicoomon's actions. Sure, it wasn't an ideal situation, but what if something else had gotten to them first, and the Biyomon just managed to escape whatever monster -
No, no, keep your head on straight! Keeping up their sprint, the Beastmon continued to follow that suspected flight path, soon chancing upon a small, rocky cliff. Approaching it, the ultimate let out a 'tsk'. A mere glance inside made two things clear:
One, there was no-one there. Two, someone had just been there.
The Beastmon gave a small sniff in the air, catching the scent of blood and data in the air. With a sigh, she set Tawna down, taking his champion form as a Mikemon once more, eyes focusing towards the entrance of the cave.
"... Alright, I got the 'scent'." It was a bit faint, but he could see it: the trail of data floating in the air, from the wound inflicted at the cat's face. It was fresh enough that he could follow it - and with a nod towards Tawna, he'd simply sprint on after it.
It would only take a minute or two to catch up, at this rate!

Haru and the Hunter were perhaps not as alone on the empty rolling plains as they at first believed. No in the distance a large towering figure moved with a slow lumbering gait. A soft humming rising from their throat as their eyes scanned the grassy stretch that spooled out before them like an endless sea their gaze raising heavenwards before the little cat's distant exclamation caught their attention. Causing the Cherubimon to carefully turn a concerned frown tugging upon their lips "Are you lost little one?" They called out softly their question carrying upon the wind as they stepped forward with the utmost gentleness. Their feet barely leaving even the briefest indents upon the grass as they moved so as not to hurt the life around them. Their button blue eyes warm as woolen knit gloves in the cold and chilled darkness under the endless stars. "Oh dear~" They murmured in that low comforting voice like velvet as they spied the wound upon the cat's face. "You appear to be hurt." They crooned out in almost parental concern.

Was it a tad morbid to hope that the Biyomon was injured from their runaway cat? Yes, a little... but honestly, any sign or scent of Haru was good. The maine coon's nostrils flared slightly at the faint hint of digital blood in the air, though not to the extent of being able to track it like Beastmon.
"Good! Lets get going... Quick too!" Tawna spoke as she clung to the Ultimate level... though something caused her hair to stand up.
There was a bad omen in the air... She didn't know what, but something about tonight was very off... She merely shook it off as just her own own stressed active nerves playing tricks on her, but it didn't offer much comfort as the pair zoned in on hopefully what was Haru.
Haru's face hurt. Frustration and general annoyance didn't make it hurt less, but it did help keep her mind off where the Biyomon had clawed her. Well-justified at least though... She was glad that there weren't any actual casualties tonight from the unexpected bout of sleepwalking.
No thanks to you... the Hunter snarled in Haru's head, Haru's own pain somewhat echoing to them as well.
The former human merely sighed as she walked, though it felt like she was getting nowhere. Where was the Library anyway? Not having a map like that on her Digivice in the past certainly didn't help her... but how hard could it be to find a huge moving fortress anyway?
Frankly, having her mind occupied like this was in general pretty poor form in the case of an ambush... If you could call a giant, plush angelic rabbit gently showing her concern an ambush. While the feline jumped initially from shock, she calmed down quickly at the cherub's soft words. "O-Oh! Uhh... eheh, I am a lil' lost I admit... I was sleepwalking and may have accidentally strayed away from where I was sleeping. I am just trying to get back to my friends so I don't worry them." Haru awkwardly chuckled, though grasped their face slightly as it stung amidst her paws. "... Its nothing big. I got into a fight accidentally, but fortunately no one got seriously hurt I don't think."
If you had just let me twist birdie's neck... the Hunter complained in the back of Haru's head, causing mild discomfort for her but not enough to visibly show it on her face besides the feline's blue-eyes awkwardly shifting around.

And quick, they would go!
The Beastmon had little reason to slow down: the sky was clear, the plains were well lit with moonlight, and there wasn't a threat in sight... so what was this feeling that the doctor had in his chest? As they made their way through those Plains...
... They would spot her. There Haru was, largely unharmed, but it wasn't so simple. Just a few yards away stood an absolutely improbable mega, a 'Virtue Cherubimon' out in the 2 AM darkness of the Digital World. However, her demeanor seemed calm - and as the doctor and Tawna approached the scene at their side, the cat was able to make quick stock of the situation. Haru was talking, explaining her situation quite well, and didn't seem scared of the bigger Digimon.
So the doctor hid. Slipping behind a hill, the Beastmon, with Tawna still likely on their shoulder, would seamlessly slip into a pitch-black shadow left in the dead of night.
"Just calm for now... we'll intervene if she tries to take her anywhere." Beastmon spoke in a low whisper, to help settle the nerves of a likely-tense-Tawna.

"It is bad to worry ones friends yes." The Cherubimon rumbled out soft and low in their throat as they fished in their pocket for a small handkerchief offering it out to the Meicoomon. It was a tiny well worn piece of fabric with little rabbits messily sewn around it's edges that clearly didn't belong to the massive Mega themselves, but held importance all the same as they held it delicately between two large fingers in offering.
"But you are hurt and..." The Rabbit sniffed the air lightly, "Sick. I can smell the sickness on you. You are suffering." The Cherubimon murmured watching Haru with those soft sad blue eyes as they frowned lightly in concern.
"I am Velveteen. Who are you little one?" They asked gently canting their head to one as they edged a little closer should Haru allow it. Making it a point to hunch as low to the ground as they could so as to not scare the little kitten.

Oh thank god... They found her... They actually found her! Tawna was able to breathe a bit easier as they managed to it seemed track down Haru's scent... and not a moment too soon!
Had there not been one little snag stopping her from just being able to confront their runaway Meicoomon, Tawna would have absolutely ran off and hugged her former tamer... Unfortunately for her, Beastmon stopped her as the pair took to hiding from the presence of the large angelic lapine that seemed to have confronted Haru... No mistaking their identity. The Mega-level angelic Digimon, Cherubimon Virtue.
For a moment, Tawna just held her breath... Well, one plus-side to this was that the angel wasn't just immediately smiting Haru like some plague-infested vermin... but damn it, she would have been lying if she said she wasn't biased against angels. All she could hope was that the large rabbit was as kind and fair as their appearance suggested...
Despite that she could feel this holy presence's astounding power, more so than she probably ever could have as a human... Haru wasn't scared of the Cherubimon. She so far just didn't have any reason to be scared... Their kind words and gentle demeanor put Haru somewhat back at ease, the cat graciously accepting the handkerchief. "Th-thank you! And I know... I'm a little upset over it honestly, as they're really good people! A little rough around the edges, but I think everyone has some good in them..." she spoke, gently cleaning the dirt that had gotten on her face; her small wound at least no longer bleeding.
Even me, fleshie? the Hunter snidely spoke, clearly just trying to take a jab at her host's words... Though Haru merely just mentally pushed that thought away as she kept her attention on the Cherubimon.
... Sickness? The Champion level's blue-eyes glistened in curiosity as she tilted her head in visible confusion. She didn't think she was sick, as Mikemon would have surely told her and Tawna if she was! "Sick? I-I don't think I'm sick... I feel kinda fine." Haru spoke, though shook the thought away fairly quickly. Probably wasn't anything to worry about... "I'm Haru; Haru Toriya. Its nice to meet you miss Velveteen! I'm just kinda wondering what you are doing out here this late at night?" the girl introduced herself, though began to awkwardly laugh to herself. "I mean, I guess you could say the same about me! I mean, sleephunting... Its a pretty dumb excuse, don't you think?"
Is that an attack on me, human? the Hunter frowned as she squinted at the mental image of Haru within their body's mind; the phantasmal Meicrackmon Vicious Mode actually bearing her teeth when Haru more or less mentally blew a raspberry at her.
Well, its your fault we're all the way out here! Haru thought to the Hunter, shaking her head awkwardly as she handed Velveteen's handkerchief back.
"Oy... Beastmon... What the hell is she talking about the sickness?" Tawna silently whispered to one of Beastmon's cat-like ears... Confusion and visible worry starting to cause her to get antsy. She... he would have said something about Haru being sick earlier, wouldn't he have?

Beastmon and Tawna would happen upon the middle of this conversation, the Beastmon's ear flicking as they heard the Cherubimon's words. On the surface, her tone sounded kind, concerned, and level - perhaps a normal reaction of a kind soul happening upon a wounded Digimon.
But something smelled oh-so-wrong about this. What was such a powerful Digimon doing in the Network Plains? Why were they out at 2 in the morning? And more to the point, what was this sickness she was talking about? That question was echoed by Tawna into the doctor's ear, Beastmon lightly tensing their fangs. "..." She tracked her sense on Tawna's energy, before shaking their head, whispering back. "Minus a few scratches, she feels exactly the same as she did in the Library - well, that 'passive' part of her core did flare up a bit." So maybe Hunter was part of this.
But to this extent? Right, the doctor couldn't risk Haru's data being at risk here. Closing their eyes, the Beastmon took a deep breath, picturing the tone they had to take. The Beastmon would stand up - as if climbing right over the hill.
"Oh, jeez... there you are, Haru!" The doctor's tone would seem like one who had been searching for Haru for quite a while, which wasn't entirely far off from the truth! Looking briefly towards Velveteen, they would approach, figuring it was more natural to be concerned for the Meicoomon friend than the Cherubimon stranger. She'd kneel down, and give a smile. "You alright?"
