The Cherubimon frowned their face gentling with concern as they crouched as low as they were able bringing their face level with the tiny Meicoomon their eyes soft and sad. "More to sick then just sick." Velveteen rumbled out softly straightening as the gently patted their chest palm resting over where their 'heart' would be.
"You're hurt. Sick at heart. Can see it in your eyes." They explained softly settling back down on their haunches as they looked the kitten over with a sort of bone deep sorrow.
"My Daisy was sick too. Sick at heart. Sick at body. Daisies don't do well in the cold." Velveteen murmured their eyes lifting to the stars seeming to stare at everything and nothing in that moment. Only drawn from their own thoughts by Haru's question. What where they doing out here?
"Becoming a real rabbit." They explained the solemn frown that had marred their face softening into an almost smile. "Can't be with Daisy if not a real rabbit. Book said if she loved me enough I would become real rabbit. Daisy loves me enough, but...not Daisy's fault. My fault. Daisy got sick. Not her fault. Got to make it the rest of the way on my own." Velveteen elaborated as they motioned to themselves with one large velvety soft mitten of a paw before they paused. Their button blue eyes settling on Haru.
"Could help you be real too. If you wa~" They began only to freeze their lips peeling back with a low guttural snarl as they picked up on two new signatures. Their form hunching forward protectively over the small injured kitten.

Haru did not feel scared or intimidated around Velveteen, but did hesitate with some of the rabbit's odd dialect... as antiquated as it was perhaps, she did eventually understand the meaning of it. Was she sick? She had experienced multiple hardships as of recently, but she wasn't alone dealing in it... right? "... Well, maybe... but friends go a long way towards helping to heal a hurt heart."
The Hunter on the otherhand... well, she was sweating bullets. For the first time in the past hour or so, the Hunter actually looked... intimidated. Whats-your-face... Haru? Just bail this chick now. She makes me uncomfortable. An unusual response coming from the Hunter as little as Haru knew them... but they were not lying when they were saying they were growing increasingly uncomfortable around Velveteen... sentiment Haru herself did not understand. Still, such an odd reaction coming from them.
Nonetheless, it was being made increasingly clear to Haru that Velveteen's story was a tragic one... She didn't know who this Daisy was, but it sounded as if they were a deceased someone they really cared about. A tamer perhaps...? Haru was reminded of the time Naoko got chicken pox when they were young and had to be in bed for a week, she having to help her lil' sis get better. Sure it wasn't a severe illness, but it taught Haru an important lesson about the well-being of others... a lesson she had to relearn years later. Nonetheless, Haru's own sympathy was for Velveteen as she solemnly shook her head. "No, no... Don't say stuff like that! Your Daisy couldn't have gotten sick from you... Its not always fair, but sometimes people get sick for no real justifiable reason... We just need to try and help them as much as we can, whether they get better or not." the Meicoomon softly attempted to assure the plush angelic-rabbit, at least in her own Haru-y way. "... I'm sorry, its not my right to butt in like that. I'm sure you have your reasons though, and I hope one day you'll be able to achieve your dreams, Velveteen."
Haru did for a moment hesitate at Velveteen's wish to extend at wanting to help her be real too (more out of just a simple misunderstanding of what that meant)... it was only when the large pastel rabbit began to act very hostile did her own ears twitch as she turned her head towards where their attention was drawn... A Beastmon (undeniably the doctor... as strange of an Ultimate level as it was), and another very familiar Meicoomon. Oh good... The vet is back. the Hunter snidely spoke with a dull expression, much to Haru's own chagrin as she soon stepped forward out of the Cherubimon's protective control, turning around to face them.
"N-No-no-no! These are my friends!" Haru attempted to dissuade the Vaccine Digimon's hostility towards Beastmon and Tawna, awkwardly glancing over to them apologetically... On one hand she was thankful that they found her, but now she had a lot of serious explaining to do. "... Oh god, I-I'm so sorry! I-I just was like sleeping back at the library, a-and I woke up a little away from here! A-and..."
"You had the devil cat trying to body-hijack ya and go on a joy ride. Yeah, we figured." Tawna somewhat snidely spoke to her blue-eyed twin, glancing hesitantly at the large Cherubimon... Yeah, angels still gave her the creeps. Nonetheless, she was much better at holding her irritation back these days. "Thank you for finding my lil sis', but we need to take her home and make sure she is okay."

Oh, hell.
The moment the two made themselves apparent, the Cherubimon immediately took a defensive posture, hunching her back to try and shield the Meicoomon's body. Haru's response was very typical of her, trusting Velveteen's intent, but the doctor felt that something was off. They briefly grit their teeth, the Beastmon hesitating for just long enough not to act out in the moment.
Hopefully, cooler minds prevailed: Haru spoke up in their defense, and started to explain what they had already figured. Tawna was blunt but cordial enough, and Haru's tone sounded reasonable enough.
So the doctor hedged their bets:
"Don't worry about it, Haru - we'll figure out something going forward. For now, let's get back to the Library." The dancer spoke, a smile curling on the lip as they stepped forward, hunched down, arms outstretched. She didn't chance going to grab the Meicoomon intentionally, instead wanting Haru to come to the Beastmon's arms.
Hopefully, that would dissuade Velveteen from thinking they were just taking Haru. But more importantly?
The Beastmon's legs were poised to pounce. If need be, the doctor could leap at a moment's notice, to either grab Haru and bolt or go right after the Cherubimon.

"Friends? Are you sure friends?" Velveteen questioned teeth still bared and their blue eyes never leaving the Doctor and Tawna. "They don't smell like friends..." The Angelic digimon murmured with a low growl as they sniffed the air testing their scent before narrowing their gaze forward.
"Smell...bad. Too many scents. Too much data. Not good data." The Angel rumbled low in their throat the ruff around their neck standing up.
"Smell sick too. Sicker then little kitten." Velveteen growled claws digging into the earth, "I don't think kitten should go with them," The Rabbit murmured glancing down just for a moment expression torn as they looked mournfully down at Haru.
"Took Daisy away too when she was sick. Daisy didn't come back."

Haru was the type to be generally pretty understanding of most anyone… Velveteen was clearly a good person, but why were they acting so hostile to Tawna and Mikemon now? ”Y-Yes, I am sure they’re my friends! I would stick my neck out for them!” the blue-eyed Meicoomon spoke, trying to perhaps speak some sense into the Cherubimon… to which she heard the malicious snickering of the Hunter in her head.
I told ya, brat. This chick is loonier than the moon out right now... the former owner of Haru’s new body snarked… something that caused Haru to internally groan. This seriously was not the time to be some… well, demeaning!
Tawna was initially trying to be civil… she genuinely was! If there was one thing her time with Haru has taught her, it is to be patient… but goddammit, she was losing it. This rabbit was like that damn Gallantmon, weren’t they, shoving her and Mikemon’s sins back in their faces to justify their own actions… it was to her the equivalent of spitting in their faces, the way the green-eyed Meicoomon by the doctor squinted as her own fur bristled irritably signifying her annoyance. ”Yeah well, maybe we’re trying to change that. You don’t know a damn thing what we’ve been through.” she spoke, her tone lowering slightly… before their form shifted as they warped Digivolved into the decadent angel of knowledge; Rasielmon.
Even with this holy figure though… it was like the mask she wore on her face. An attempt to cover her own mistakes and darkness. Still, with all the suffering she had gone through to be reunited with her best friend… she was not going to stand down. ”You have good intentions, but this is not your jurisdiction.” the angel murmurred… though the way her ears twitched and her frown indicated that she had an inkling of an idea what may happen next. Rather than take action immediately, she merely beckoned Haru closer… just in case she was wrong.
Haru herself was now extremely conflicted… no, she had no intentions to just ditch her dear friends like this… but if Tawna Digivolved to Mega level, was is it possible a fight could brew? That was the last thing she wanted… still, she turned to face up to Velveteen with a pleading look as she backed away from the rabbit. ”... I’m sorry, but you need to trust them... I'm not your Daisy.”
The Hunter meanwhile merely shook their head in the corner of Haru’s mind. Man, you really are a fuckin’ dumbass, you know right? they scoffed, flashing a toothy smile at her host.
It was reasons like this that were why she hated being around people. Self-righteous asshats ticked her off.

The Beastmon grit their teeth, ear flicking as the Cherubimon continued to speak. It was easy to feel: the anger and concern in her voice, and just the general feeling that something wasn't right with her. Who was Daisy? How was Haru sick? There was definitely a story to unpack here, but one thing was clear.
Velveteen was obsessed with Haru. Dangerously so. Tawna picked up on it as well, per-emptively ascending to her Rasielmon form. As the mega appeared, however, the doctor did not follow suit. Instead, as Tawna drew the attention to herself with that power-up - maybe even drawing the Cherubimon's attention for a moment - the Beastmon acted.
They knelt down, just as Haru started to back up. Right at that moment, the ultimate level would dash in, intent on scooping the Meicoomon up in their arms. Once the doctor had her, the Beastmon would turn on a heel, and dash right back out, in an attempt to get that cradled cat to safety!
Damn it, Haru, this is not the time for this! The student was kind, yes, but this was too much!
