"Do you think just a few more heads will help here?"
"With what's at stake, we might not have too much of a choice."
Doctor Mikemon sighed, shaking his head at this whole ordeal. For about the last month or so, the cat had what he would consider to be an interesting patient. His eyes briefly flicked over to the side, to see that Biyomon (X), sitting down, her eyes cast towards her right ankle. There, one could easily see the problem: a curse, much like a ring of black flame, burned consistently at the bird's talon. The Doctor hoped to remove it with other means, but every attempt came up short.
All that was left, was this last-ditch plan. The bird hadn't said a word up to this point, though - the one who had spoke was her tamer (X). Hearing Mikemon's response, the tamer simply grit her teeth, collapsed in the chair next to the Biyomon, burying her face briefly in her palms. "Damn it, B, why did you have to go off like that in the first place? If we don't act soon..."
The Biyomon simply gave a short glance in her direction, before looking right back down, letting out a short sigh. The cat shook his head. "Well."
"Let's give it one more shot." ErisAlan Pantell@holly MISSION THREAD

She could feel her hand shake...
This would be good for her they said, this would make her ease up and relax. Thinking about things that weren't that and thinking about how to help these people. Well help this person at least. This biyomon. The meicrackmon gritted her teeth and gripped at her wrist.
Her hand wouldn't stop shaking... Why wouldn't it stop shaking?
She'd exhale slowly and flick an ear considering quietly just what she had agreed to. To help figure out what this digimon needed to do before this curse took them. They didn't know how long ago this curse was placed right? But they knew that the digimon that placed it was long gone and had no actual way of telling them.
She'd pause outside of the room that she knew this to be in; if they figured out what the bird needed to do and such could they go about it? Or would it have to be something the bird needed to figure out themselves? Her expression darkened for a moment as she considered the possibilities.
A myotismon. It likely will be something it considered needed to be done right...?
So of course the meicrackmon gripped at the door-handle before pushing it open. She would stand there quietly staring inside of the room before stepping into it. She knew who the clients were, well she knew one of them and that the other was the patient but that didn't stop her from signing up.
"Early bird gets the worm they say... Hi Da."
The cat digimon would give a small wave to her Da, meeting those eyes for a brief instant. There was a myrid of things that she wanted to talk to him about but that'd have to wait for after this. She needed advice and the best time would be for when they were well and done with everything. Instead she posed a quick question looking over the biyomon for a brief instant. Just how much could she tell from a cursory glance?
"Any changes since the posting or still the same state?"

Eris might have been young, but she was inquisitive, bright, and most of all wanted to help. Removing curses and saving people was exactly the sort of things heroes and knights did and one day the little Gigimon was determined to follow in her Father's path in becoming one. This mission and the Biyomon that they were requested to help was just the first step in what was to be a journey of a lifetime for the tiny in-training. Thus as soon as she'd seen the flier she'd been more then eager to assist. Rapping her little leg lightly against the office door the tiny Digimon waited beaming up at whoever happened to answer with a bright glittering smile. "Hi!" She chirped, "I'm Eris!" The Gigimon spoke up introducing herself as she offered one of her legs to shake in greeting. "I saw the flier and I'm here to help!" She added as if to clarify her presence just in case they were confused. So many Digimon just assumed because she was young, and small, and in-training that she was lost. Which admittedly she was and was trying to get back to Icy Fate, but that didn't mean she couldn't lend a hand along the way.

"I dunno, Levi, I can't shake the feeling that I'm doing this for the wrong reasons."
A young human of eighteen years and a Veemon wearing a grey ivy cap were slowly walking the halls of a library they couldn't believe they missed the last time they were in the Network Plains. Unsure whether they had to keep their voices down, they decided to speak in something close to a whisper regardless. It was a library, after all. The human would stop occasionally to look up from the sheet of paper he was holding. On it, he had copied word for word everything the flier had had to say about the task he had agreed to take up, and he was now reading and rereading what he had copied as he walked. Sure, he could have simply taken a flyer, but what if he took one that would have gone to someone far more suited for the job? Sighing, the Veemon whispered back.
"What kind of reasons do you think you should be doing this for? You have an inquisitive mind, just like it said, and we both like helping people. The fact that you think it'd be fun is icing on the cake, not, what, proof of some kind of corruption!"
The pair entered the office and looked around at everyone's faces. The room now contained seven people: five digimon, two humans. Alan meekly closed the door behind him. "Hello. I'm Alan, and this is Levi. We're here about the, um... the curse."

Alright, honestly, this was not a confident ship that the doctor was making.
As their first taker came through the door to Mikemon's office, the tamer's eyes brightened up for a moment. Here was a Meicoomon - a bit of an odd choice for this, but heck, it was another head in the game! She was about to introduce herself - that was, until Holly did it first.:
Hi Da."
'Da'? As in, 'dad'? The tamer blinked, stunned, as Mikemon shook his head. "Unfortunately, no. Just take a seat for now, we should have two more coming in - Eris and Alan, I believe?"
Speak of it, and it will happen - here came Eris! As the tamer opened the door, to see that bright and cheerful bean of a dragon, the tamer, once more, blinked in surprise. "... Is this a joke to you, Dr. Mikemon?" Ah, yes, there it was. Unfortunately, the human was judging by appearance here - and, frankly, she had a bit of a reason to be concerned. What kind of crowd was this to start off - an in-training, and the doctor's own daughter?
"Isey, please!" The Biyomon gave a sharp retort - enough for 'Isey' to take a step back! "At least let them try!"
Well, that little fight certainly set the stage for their third group - but, to be fair, 'Isey' couldn't find much to complain about this one. It was another tamer and his partner Digimon. At the very least, B's tamer simply let the third one off with a silent sigh - Mikemon clearing his throat to get the attention of everyone in the room.
"Alright... welcome, and thank you all for coming!" Trying to take control of the tension in the room, the cat addressed the group. "My name is Dr. Mikemon, the acting doctor for Isabelle and her partner Biyomon. I've briefly gone over 'B's' condition in the flier, but there's only so much I can put in the letter itself. Its mostly as it was said, though: B has been put under a 'conditional curse', one that cannot be removed until the cursebearer performs the designated action. Unfortunately, one of the conditions was that she's not allowed to speak of her task."
Open and shut, that sounded like an impossible case, right? Well, not quite: "Through a small bit of trial and error, however, we've discovered that we can obtain information indirectly. She can't be asked to explain or simply 'tell us what it is'... but she is able to answer direct 'yes-or-no' questions."
"... Sort of." The Biyomon cut in, as Mikemon nodded: "She can't actually say yes - that would violate the term of the curse. But she can say no - the spell would simply assume the information given is unrelated."
From there?
"... That's all we have." Wait, really?! "I didn't want to overlap information or try to lead your thoughts. The only relevant questions we've asked are 'Is the task you were given legal' and 'Would you be putting anyone in harm's way by performing the task'. To the first, she didn't answer - and to the second, she said 'unlikely."

"Thank you for allowing me this opportunity Dr. Mikemon. I promise to do my best!" The Little In-training chirped as she slipped inside. Padding her way over to a chair as she eyed it for a moment measuring the distance before leaping up onto it and circling once before she settled down tucking her tail around herself. Her ears flicking back in distress at the vitriol in the Tamers tone. Still the Tamers partner was quick to remind her not to judge by appearances and despite the initial slight Eris had resolved herself to prove her worth. Actions always spoke louder then words or so her Father had said.
"So she can't communicate with us directly?" The Gigimon mused considering the situation. "Can you write down what you need or does that count as 'speaking' depending on if the curse follows the word or intent of the Myotismon?" Eris questioned hoping to expand beyond simple yes or no's before suddenly she brightened.
"What about drawing! Can you draw clues for us! Like! Like that human game! What was it called...? Pictionary?" She exclaimed before looking around the office for any paper or pen.

Of all the things she was expecting here, she was not expecting the In-training digimon that claimed her name was Eris and that had seen the flier. But the thing with this is that this digimon must of been capable of champion digivolution at the very least else they wouldn't of signed up.
Her father's reaction however to her appearance was expected. She'd quickly take a seat dipping her head in a small nod at his answer. Then of course came the reaction that the human gave to the first two arrivals. She'd stare at the human as the Biyomon gave a sharp retort to their own tamer.
The last to arrive being another tamer and his partner which earned a quick nod from holly. A small flash of a smile given to Eris as the youth only wanted to help and holly herself saw no reason why they couldn't at least try.
Holly brought up her hand to her mouth, staring quietly at her father as he cleared his throat. The tamer of the biyomon didn't seem pleased but these were the ones they were going to have to deal with no? Holly stayed quiet during the explanation that Both the Tamer and her father gave. She mulled over the options, indirectly being able to ascertain what the Biyomon needed to do would be difficult.
If she's unlikely to put herself in danger and if it's legal? Jeez that makes it so much harder...
The meicrackmon frowned a little bit and folded her hands in front of her staring at the bird digimon for a few long moments. Her tail swishing back and forth for a few moments longer.
"Do we know the name of the Myotismon, his affiliations and any friends he may have? If we do we can ascertain any intentions from them. Hobbies, personal interests and otherwise would also be useful. If the curse placed on the Biyomon is like this... well it's something he would want done but people to see perhaps? Something she can do without the event of her hurting herself which range wildly. Also figuring if it's related to a person, item or direct location would help."

Alan continued to look at his notes as he listened to the others' explanations and ideas. "Eris brings up a good point, now that I think about it. It all depends on how literally we're supposed to take these instructions. The original flyer said that she couldn't speak the specifics of the task. Whether it's writing, drawing, or anything visual... it seems like one of the more obvious solutions, which means I have my doubts. Still, we have to try it."
"And what about all this other information?" said Levi, referring to Holly's input.
"Well, again, assuming the details of the curse given are the exact rules, and if they're not, or you don't know if they are, please correct me... she only is forbidden from speaking of the task itself, right? So unless the task had anything to do with any of these details or affiliations, we should easily be able to ask for anything else she knows. And if not, pen and paper, and if not... we just keep asking silence-or-no questions. Agreed so far?" He looked around at the others, worrying that all he did was waste time by restating what was already brought up in a more long-winded fashion. However, for the sake of the client, he decided that the least he could do was exhibit some confidence.

"... Interesting. Their thoughts go right to challenging the rule itself..."
Mikemon more-or-less muttered that point, such that only those with the most sensitive ears would be able to pick it up. It was a decent idea, but the tamer quickly rebutted it:
"We don't know the exact boundaries of the curse, but we do know that simply writing the words or typing them out are included in its scope. She can try, but she can't even move the pen, or type out what she needs to do."
"I will say, you all are our second-to-last measure. Our last is to hire a hypnotist to try and work around the mental block of the curse to see if she could start to write it afterwards. The odds are relatively low, but worth independently investigating."
With that out of the way, Holly's direct question was, well, a fair bit outside of the 'yes-or-no' format... but the question was vague enough, enough that the Biyomon brought a hand up to her beak to think. "Let's see..." Might as well test the waters? "His... name... is..."
Yup, they could hear those words! Isabelle and B gave out a relieved sigh, and Biyomon pressed forward with more confidence. "His name is Vlad. Speaking of him specifically, he worked as a sort of 'independent importer' from Terminus. There are these particular crystals from the Dark Area, apparently a form of enchantment stone? Anyway, every week or so he'd go down there and bring a few of them up, its how he got by."
Aside from that... what else could she say?
"Friends, I don't know. He sold his goods in the indoor market on 3rd Street, in Terminus, but he didn't have an assistant to run his stall. I think he sold at Lot 35, which would be on the second floor of that building. I... do remember that he played this human card game with some of the others there. I think it was... 'Hearts'?"
There were a few other things that Holly had asked outside of that - like if the curse on her ankle was meant to be visible. "I don't know - whether he can make the mark invisible or not's not something I would know."
They had a start, at least, Mikemon scribbling notes down as the Biyomon spoke. "I'll see who worked on the lots in the '30s' at the high-value market. Let me just step out for a few calls... Holly, take good notes while I'm out!"

Feeling more then a little like the odd one out at Holly's quick one-eighty the little Gigimon went quiet ceasing her search as her ears laid back a touch her unsureness clear on her face. Still she forged her way forward. "I still think drawing is far enough away from speaking or writing to be safe. She could dip a claw in ink and draw on paper or we could get a box of dirt or sand and she could trace images that way." Eris suggested softly before turning to the Biyomon herself.
"Does the task directly pertain to Vlad's business?" The little Gigimon questioned agreeing with Alan to a point in regards to simply playing the No or Silence game. If they could narrow it down and then have the Biyomon draw a picture of some sort to suggest what needed to be done then that could go a long way towards solving the problem.

Holly brought up a hand to her chin, rubbing at it thoughtfully. She'd furrow her brow just slightly as Alan and Levi brought up a few good points on their own. Silence or no questions would make it easy but hopefully the curse in it's own wouldn't muck around with the variables they could use.
"Using that we can find the boundaries of what we can ask and slowly whittle this down. It's not something simple but you've got a point there with the silence-or-no questions."
Holly flicked an ear as The tamer, her Da and the Biyomon spoke. They didn't know the exact boundaries but the questions they were posing would help with that. No typing or writing, but they would find themselves unable. A hypnotist to try to get around the mental block? That could work but it also could be incredibly dangerous.
Holly's test of the waters yielded some unexpected fruits and the meicrackmon's eyebrows rose sharply. Her ears flicked and she'd tilt her head as the biyomon answered just about everything that she had posed. Then of course her da addressed her about taking notes. Blinking a bit she'd snatch a pad of paper along with a pen. Biting the cap off she'd get to writing down everything they had so far.
Her writing wasn't too shoddy so at least there wouldn't be any problems there. Rotating the cap in her mouth she'd hum thoughtfully. Eris thinking that there was a chance with the drawing? Well... It would be something they could check in a bit right?
She'd stare at the biyomon after Eris asked her question; the cat ready to write down whatever answer they got. Or anything that Alan and Levi addressed. Honestly she had a few thoughts right now but she needed a little more imput before putting those into the ring.
"I'm kinda curious how you ended up running into this Vlad character..."

It was a relief for Alan to hear that Biyomon was allowed to speak of what little she knew that was not direct information regarding the task. "You know, taking notes is a good idea. I should make some more of my own, too." With that, he took a pen from his pocket, and flipped the sheet he had copied the flier's details on to the other side, before setting it down on a table. "Just give me a second..." he said, jotting down some points from the information that had just been provided. As Alan was writing, Levi turned to the rest of the group.
He remembered what Archon had said to him when they first met: he had an interest in rock collecting. All of the rocks Archon had collected were innocuous, and Levi knew those rocks most likely had nothing to do with. This mental connection was merely the reason something the Biyomon said piqued his interest.
"Alan, try dividing notes into known information and details that will need to be investigated later. I'm rather interested in knowing what these 'enchantment stones' are used for, but since Biyomon doesn't know, we should continue to focus on what we can get here before getting started on any sort of wild goose chase in Terminus."
"Right, right..." Alan was finishing up the notes he had so far. "With that in mind, let's see... these are some good questions, now what else to ask? Hmm... how about..." he continued, tapping his leg lightly, "...does the task... require interaction with a specific person or people?" The human jot the question down on his sheet of paper. "Vague, but the plan is to whittle it down, so..."

Drawing... well, it was definitely something they could try, but judging by the nervous glance Isabelle and B gave each-other to the Gigimon's comment, they definitely thought it was a risky venture. Still, Alan and Holly definitely had the right idea to try and quickly narrow down irrelevant information. Though, that begged the question: if the bird was able to speak of it, did it pertain to the job at all?
For now, there were a few more questions to answer:
"Does the task pertain directly to Vlad's business?" To this, the Biyomon's answer was confident: "It has nothing to do with his business... but I guess its possible that it might have been something he could tell a friend." And with Mikemon already investigating those in the 30s, they were well on their way to investigate that front. "Hm..."
"...does the task... require interaction with a specific person or people?" This question was terribly vague. Rather than struggle with the answer, the Biyomon more seemed confused with how to respond. "Um... OH." It clicked - and the bird stopped short of trying to answer.
"I'm kinda curious how you ended up running into this Vlad character..." In all honesty, this should have been a simple thing to answer, if their relation had absolutely nothing to do with the task at hand. But, perhaps surprisingly, the Biyomon remained silent, eyes certain and intent on that tone. In that case, it wasn't the Biyomon that answered, but Isabelle: "... She wasn't cursed on her first meeting with the Myotismon. Actually, he was someone that I think she considered a friend after a few meetings, but if you're asking how we met up with him in the first place, we were in the same unit on a simple mission to the ocean, to investigate a number of shells that washed ashore the beach. Come to think of it, they did suspect that someone in the group pocketed a few of them..."
Interestingly, the Biyomon hadn't changed her tone for that entire meeting - no confirmations, no denials, no corrections. It didn't have to do with the business, but maybe it had something to do with his trade?
After that set, it would be about a minute or two before Mikemon would step back in. He gave a wave, slipping back by the desk: "It seems only Lot 34 even knew his name was Vlad - they hit the same place for lunch, quite a bit. Despite their 'work friendship', he 'guessed it was only a matter of time' before his trade caught up to him. Apparently he was into fencing either stolen or illegal goods, under the table..."

Considering the information before her Eris shifted back and forth where she sat on her chair. The little black tip of her tail twitching in thought as the Gigimon thought things through. "Ok we'll use drawing as a last resort to narrow things down only." Eris offered hoping to bring some comfort to the nervous pair.
"Did the request happen to pertain to the contents of your previous mission with Vlad involving the shells?" She questioned wondering if maybe the Myotismon hadn't pocketed the shells himself being in the business of rare and unusual goods and then regretted selling or fencing them. If that was the case though then that would pertain to his work. Maybe he'd passed the shells off to someone else or maybe the request had nothing to do with the shells at all, but possibly any information they found during the mission. Though they wouldn't know till they could figure out if it involved the mission itself.

Nothing to do with his business, possibly could of told a friend. It likely requires an interaction with a specific person or people.
Holly spun the pen around and around, biting down on her lower lip thoughtfully. Her brow furrowed in thought and she'd stare at the bird. She'd flick her ear quietly as answers were both given and not. The bird wasn't cursed on the first meeting, he was considered a friend so why would her curse them?
Maybe to gain trust?
It wasn't perhaps too out of left field but holly wouldn't address that quite yet. But with her Da coming back, some place called lot 34 knew him and it was more of a work friendship. Something about his trade catching up to him and fencing illegal goods...
Shells...
The meicrackmon circled the word shells on her pad and put a little question-mark next to it. Eris questioning if it pertained to the contents of her previous mission. Holly let out a firm hum and tapped on the pad of paper with the end of her pen.
"What were these shells? Like sea-shells or other types of shells...?"
If the shells they were talking about were just sea-shells why would that matter? Why would they be any different. She'd furrow her brow slowly and continue that tapping avoiding using the tip of the pen to mark the paper. She figured she could piggyback off of Eris' question, shooting a small somewhat pleased smile at the bean.
"More specifically... did Vlad pocket any of the shells?"
