Eris doing her best to appear mighty and dignified in front of Ares was nothing short of adorable, but both Carlos and Dio managed to stiffle their own giddy chuckles, not wanting to undermine the Gigimon's attempts.
Things were going good, or so they seemed at least...until the digimon named after the God of war revealed his true motives. Not only did he have some story with Eris' father, but something rather bad between them had happened, something that had clearly left Ares rather resentful, if his glowing fiery hand was anything to go by. Despite him reassuring them he had no quarrel with Eris, an air of unease surrounded both human and digimon once again. Suddenly, the fire warrior's amiable (if gruff) behaviour felt like something entirely different.
"That won't be necesary, we were planning on taking her back to Icy Fate later after we found her friend." Carlos was quick to remark before adding, "We can give her father a message on your behalf if you want, though."
Was it an attempt to further dissuade the Agunimon for going down such a dark path? Or was it a genuine offer from the man? Regardless of what it was, Dio too added something of his own to the conversation.
"Hmph, it's good you won't drag her into whatever you have with her father. That would be a rather underhanded tactic..." The imp said with a nod, which gave way for a rather menacing glare as his own hand lit up with energy for a moment. "...and an unwise one."

Eris took a step back her little ears laying flat as she eyed the Agunimon with a mix of wariness and empathy. He didn't seem bad, but she loved her Daddy and if they'd fought and Ares had lost. She couldn't imagine her Father fighting a friend without a good reason. I mean sure he fought with Uncle Logane all the time, but that wasn't real fighting. They'd just throw things at each other, get a punch or two in and then go get a drink. That sort of thing was normal. They never actually tried to hurt one another.
"Why did you get into a fight?" The little Gigimon questioned tucking her tail nervously as she eyed the much taller Mon.
"I have some bits you can have if you need them. They're not much, but..." She trailed off digging into the little pouch strapped to her leg as she snuffled through her things trying to find the money she'd been scrounging up over time doing odd jobs here and there as she tried to make her way home.

"So you plan on going to the skies by your lonesome as a Virus-type. I genuinely can't tell if you're crazy or not, and I do try to give people the benefit of the doubt." Ares offered a remark towards Carlos just as quick as the man with questionable hair's own, though, he glanced towards Dio and couldn't help but snicker at the Impmon threatening him with the very element he himself wielded.
Humorous. "It was a disagreement. I'd rather leave it at that. Uh...You can keep those if you want, though. Besides. I'd rather let him know myself that I'm still here." ...Did he intend to make that sound menacing or...?

Funnily enough, Dio seemed to almost take pride in Ares' doubtful remark. After all, they hadn't encountered many problems last time they went into the city of Luminas...well, at least initially. And he was quick to let the Agunimon know.
"Wouldn't be the first time we do such a thing either, I doubt it will be any harder than last time." He proclaimed, a smirk on his face. Of course, that was ignoring the fact that their first visit to the skies had been a pretty...disastrous one all things considered, what with they almost getting lynched by a mob of rather prejudiced zealots. If anything, they hoped things could only be easier next time. ...right?
Whatever the case one thing was for certain: Ares was above taking money from children at least, though his statement still sounded vaguely ominous, but it was hard to tell if it was intentional or just how the fire warrior talked.
"And how do you plan on doing that exactly? This place isn't exactly out in the open where anyone could find it." Carlos said, clearly still dubious of the digimon's intentions.

"Are you sure?" Eris asked her voice going soft as she ceased pawing through her things to blink those big blue eyes up at Ares the little Gigimon's face a mask of concern. "I-I mean..." She trailed off scuffing one foot lightly against the dirt.
"My Uncle Logane always says you should help those in need." She explained before hastily adding, "Not that I don't think you can't help yourself."
"Just if you and my Dad were friends. Fight or no...I don't think he'd want to see you like this." She explained though whether it was youth or simply a gentle heart that made her feel such had yet to be seen. Clearly time or his child must have softened Hephaestus for her to say such things or perhaps the ancient Medieval Dukemon simply kept his bloodlust and driving need for combat hidden from his daughter. At Dio's question though she paused. How exactly did Ares plan to speak with her Dad.
"I mean I guess you could message him on tamernet, but he's really bad at using it. I've had to show him like three times and he keeps accidentally breaking the tablets."

"A strange thing to boast about, but okay." Ares noted, towards Dio. He didn't seem any less doubtful, but he was looking at a mere Impmon (to him). You couldn't blame him, could you?
Yet, the Agnimon noted the sheer...innocence this Gigimon radiated. Things simply didn't...add up for Ares. Hephaestus was, by all means, the single most bloodthirsty entity he had ever known. Why didn't his daughter reflect that? Hell, why the heck did she even bring humans here?
"Quite honestly, I don't think he'd care." Ares dismissed that about as quick as it came up. "Soft or not, what's done is done. On the subject of that Tamernet thing, that's...actually what I was going to do. That or drag you three up there myself."

"Do...you even have Tamernet here? Huh." Somehow that was the most surprising revelation for Carlos. Digimon were surely way more advanced than humans, you'd be hard pressed to get any kind of coverage outside a big city, yet here they were, discussing about Tamernet with someone living inside a literal cavern. Still, Eris' idea had merit. "Uhm...should we try to message him now or..." He wondered.
"Thanks for the offer, but I think I can drag us all there if needed." The imp meanwhile replied dryly to Ares, not quite keen on letting some Agnimon he just met carry them anywhere. Much less to meet someone who he seemed to hold a grudge against. Last thing he wanted was for any of them to end up tangled into some conflict they had no part in. All he wanted right now was to get the small bean to a safer place and move on with his day.
If only that storm wasn't in the way...
