This fight was quickly becoming more tense with every movement made by the combatants involved. Villiaummon inhaling the smog was something that the Infermon wasn't expecting. Nor was she expecting the crystalization of her limbs to accelerate. She turned and leapt using her remaining limb, sacrificing the range she had just gained in a fit of RAGE.
Nobody beat her.
Nobody did. Not the slayer. No. THIS CHILD would not be the first. As Infermon neared Villiaummon, she decided to pull out this form's trump card. Which was in turn...Something you'd normally see later. With a flash of her eyes, Infermon was surrounded by a green sphere that expanded slightly before it exploded outwards akin to a wave. And she was still flying towards Wakako, too...
Infermon, in response to the damage caused by Empress' Glee, hurls herself towards Wakako and uses:
System Fail: A desperation move that you normally see a level higher. Infermon is surrounded by a green sphere of energy that expands outwards briefly before it explodes into a wave. A wave that, while it can be dodged, is still rather sudden and will drain power from the unlucky target if it hits. Such power revitalizes Infermon accordingly. Four turn cooldown.

Wakako was being forced to her limits here... She had practice fighting in the past, but this was to an extent that she was unfamiliar with
Everything hurt. Pain wracked through her body as previous vitality was plundered from her body. She would have never thought it would hurt so much, but the naga was gasping for a breath as the damage tore through her. Not helped by the Infermon slamming into her, causing further bruising. Were she a younger or more naive Digidestined, this ordeal would have been brought her to tears.
But an unholy rage was all that kept her going.
Struggling to keep her balance, the Villaiummon stood her ground taking the blow... before counter-attacking as she began to coil around the Infermon, using the strong muscles her lower-half had to try and crush the Ultimate's body. Not helped by she recklessly attempting to try and grab hold of the demonic bug's neck and throttle it alive.
Of course, pure pressure alone wasn't going to do a good job at cracking at the Infermon's powerful armored-shell... but her lower-half's scales turning into razor-sharp crystalline blades was going to be MUCH tougher to weather.
At this point, it wasn't even about the spirit or getting revenge for that Vorvomon... Wakako wanted this monster dead, and she wanted to do it as painfully as possible.
Wakako was hit by System Failure and took the full brunt of Infermon's body, taking heavy damage. She has counter-attacked with Ruby Wring, trying to grab hold onto Infermon and crush them with her body.
[PASSIVE] Gorgon Heart - Turns out having your body turned into toxic crystals is generally not healthy in the grand scheme of things. Foes caught in Villiaummon's movement-hampering abilities or that make direct contact with her take residual damage from exposure to Villiaummon's crystals or being afflicted by her attacks' effects. VIlliaummon can shut off this ability when need be.
[PASSIVE] No Escape Dearies - Cruel, and beautiful... This is Villiaummon's modus operandi. Villiaummon's attacks ignore defense or resistance-based passive abilities entirely.
Ruby Wring - Villiaummon attacks by wrapping her body around the target as her snake-like lower half turns into a mess of crystalline blades as they squeeze the life out of them. If successful, the foe will be for immobilized for the turn and take a large chunk of damage as the blades cut into their body, dealing heavy damage against already injured targets. (Cooldown: 3 Turns)
Cooldowns: Death Dazzle: 1 Turn Serpent Smog: 1 Turns Empress's Glee: 2 Turns Ruby Wring: Waiting

The power being sapped from the spirit wielder felt great when put in a direct comparison towards the unholy pain the Infermon was being dealt. It, however, did not mean much as she was left in a position to be ensnared by the serpentine woman. Cracking through her would not be the most easy thing in the world.
But given how part of her was already crystal? Cracks were beginning to be heard. And the Infermon's mouth opened to reveal the same gun as it tried to look Wakako directly in the eyes...
Before she fired off another Spider Shooter. What would this do? Not much, maybe. But the girl likely had the tools to finish this fight now.
Infermon isn't doing so good. She fires off a spider shooter to attempt damaging Wakako enough to get her to free the spider from this...crushing embrace.
Spider Shooter: Infermon opens it’s mouth, as tendrils break forth from it's shell and warp into the shape of gattling guns, before it releases a deadly stream of bullets that can punch through digizoid.

Wakako was basically being put to the very brink of life and death her, with the shots that directly hit her face bloodying it in a mess of red and data. The Villiaummon screamed at the pain... an unholy sound that echoed through the cave system.
To say the girl was not in particularly good shape herself was an understatement. Had the Infermon not perhaps already been worn down partly by Vorvomon's parents, the fight could have gone VERY different.
At this point...? There really was no tact to the Beast hybrid's next action... just the intent to smash the Infermon into a million pieces. While forced to loosen her grip on the insect, it left her free to be able to try and coil around them and lift them off the ground... before putting ALL her weight onto the Infermon while slamming them into the hard bedrock itself.
Wakako took a direct blow from Spider Shooter, in desperation retaliating with Wild Whiplash.
Wild Whiplash - Villiaummon brutally slams her serpentine body like a whip, aiming to crush foes. A simple, but nonetheless effective attack... It breaks through defensive abilities up to her level. (Cooldown: 1 Turn)

When one attempts to crush something, something had to give inevitably. When one went to break something in twain, there had to be a point when something had to give in. The Infermon managed a final cackle at Wakako's misfortune as her body gave in with a sickening crack, the attack of the Villiaummon causing her to very literally shatter into three chunks. Two of which simply shattered into more upon actually clattering to the ground. The other part? Well, Infermon's head pulled itself free in a rather grotesque fashion, wires where her neck would be, before it slithered away. Hastily. But, a final warning was delivered. A raspy whisper that could be heard throughout the cavern. I'll be back.
I'll find you.
I'll break you.
I'll kill you.
Morsel.
The Volcdramon let out a low whimper. Hopefully he hadn't been forgotten...
Wakako broke the spider. What does she do now?

Honestly, was Wakako attempting to outright kill the Infermon? Maybe... but that spindly, writhing entity was hardier than your average Digimon. Even when torn in three, the spider Digimon was able to survive by tearing their head from the socket and skittering away... but not before letting out a single, final taunt.
Could she be broken more than she already was...? Maybe. Wakako though was willing to rebel against that fate though.
When it was all over and done with, the serpentess took her share of the spoils... she proceeded to magnetize and load a chunk of the Infermon's data, though there was just too much for her to be able to snag it all it seemed; forced to let it stand. While the stolen data would help mend some of the damage she had sustained, it wasn't enough to let her continue to maintain this form. With no other option, Wakako was forced to degenerate back into her human-self... bruised and battered, but alive nonetheless.
Catching her breath, the white-haired girl managed to weakly stand up; her attention drawn to Vorvomon's mortally-wounded father. The Spirit was nearby, but she wanted to tie all loose ends. Approaching the smoldering beast, Wakako couldn't touch them as they were still very hot... but she was there trying to get their attention. "Sir... please, you need to get up. You have to get up... Vorvomon is waiting for you."

The beast couldn't do much. In truth? Wakako's gambit earlier may have robbed him of a good portion of the time he had left in this world. In this life. It let out a ragged cough. So the digimon that broke the spider was but a human...? "...I..." Volcdramon began. "Am afraid...I cannot...do that...Time grows short. I...do regret doing this. But. Vorvomon...may you take care of him? Honor a dying man's request?"
A grim chuckle. For a mon on death's door, he seemed okay with making fun of the situation. But, in a second...He realized. The girl had a power similar to that of the stone he had been guarding. The stone the Infermon wished to take.
"I may not know your name, Spirit Wielder...But I know what you come here for..." In a final gesture, he raised his head up, as his body began to glow with the same warmth and fire that all members of his species did, before he spat forth a ball of flame at the white stone--still embedded into the wall. Another explosion was heard, as was the rumbling from earlier, as the stone clattered to the floor, unharmed.
"Go..." The Volcdramon said as he closed his eyes, and the glow he bore faded.
Forever.

Victory was hers, but victory didn't quell the bitterness in her heart as the Volcdramon managed to weakly speak to her... What she did back there was petty and downright cruel, but it was an action born from pragmatism. She had to win... but she knew deep down, it wasn't out of some desire for justice. The Infermon was an obstacle, and she was willing to take any action to overcome them.
It didn't mean she wasn't sympathetic though to the mortally-wounded Ultimate level... She was partially taken aback by their request to care for their now to-be orphaned son, but as someone who was also separated from their parents by some cruel means... it was something that she felt like she couldn't say no to.
She had to try her best. What kinda person would she have been if she said no? "... I will try my best, sir." she weakly spoke, her attention drawn to their final words as their flames intensified one last time... One last explosion from the Volcdramon being all that was needed to shatter what was without a doubt the totem's prison, a seemingly innocuous stone falling to the ground as Volcdramon drew his last breath.
The girl tried her best to keep her emotions in check as she pulled her D-Tector, scanning the vicinity so as she could load the totem from the stonethough to her surprise, there was not one signal but two. Some of the errant data in the air had formed a soft light as soon it all dissipated... leaving behind to her surprise a second totem for the taking.
... Well, it wasn't like she was just going to leave it there, right?
With the caverns far emptier without the fierce sound of battle echoing across its halls, Wakako noted how much colder the caves were now. It seemed without its guardians, the life that emanated from its walls had died down...
Soon enough, the girl paused in the room that she had originally ran into the Vorvomon. Cupping her hands, the girl called out for the Rookie. "Vorvomon? Its okay to come out now... Its over."

That was that.
The Volcdramon was left to sleep forever.
Vorvomon had been tucked away into a corner of the room for the past...however long it was. He couldn't quite tell time very easily. But he just wanted the sounds to end. And when they finally did? He just wanted to know what had happened. Whether anyone survived. Whether anyone was going to be okay.
He quickly crawled out of where he was hiding upon hearing Wakako speak. Was it truly over? He ran over towards where he had heard her voice. Huh? A human? "...Where'd the jewel digimon go? I-Is my dad okay...?"

It wasn't perhaps surprising to find the Vorvomon cowering away... safe, but clearly scared out of their mind. Could she blame them though? She barely escaped that... that monster with her life back there!
And already, the poor thing was asking her questions. Wakako did what her adoptive sister was prone to doing... bottle up their emotions for later. Crying was okay when no one else was there having to suffer through it. The white-haired girl only managed to tilt her head down with her D-Tector still in her hand as she slowly came a bit closer to the Rookie. "... I'm her, but..." she for a moment spoke before stammering as her gaze was directed away from the Rookie level.
Was she just as much to blame as the Infermon?
In the end, Wakako swallowed her exasperation as she struggled to keep calm. "... I'm sorry. He's... he's gone." she managed to mumble, choking slightly at those words. She gazed back at Vorvomon with a sympathetic look in her eye, sitting down for the first time in the past few hours. "... He wants you to stay with me. ... Your parents loved you."
That last part was technically more an assumption than anything, but thats what parents did... right? Good parents at least. She didn't get to know either of the Vorvomon's parents... but there was no doubt in her mind that he was loved; something that made this whole debacle sting harder. "... Whats your name? Mine's... Wakako Mozume."

So she really was one of those humans. That was surprising to the Vorvomon, but that was eclipsed by the news that Wakako promptly delivered. Despite everything, Vorvomon was an orphan. It took him a few moments to process that, but tears slowly began to form in the little dragon's eyes.
It was likely best to assume that all of this had contributed to that.
"O-Oh...Um...Okay..." The dragon was doing his best not to cry. He couldn't cry now. But, try as he did, he still looked like he got kicked in the fact with cleats. The girl wanted to know his name? "Uh...Brenton. It's a dumb name, I know, but mom said it came from a word that meant fire...."
...He was barely composed. Oh dear.

Wakako's soul hurt. Everything about this made her hurt inside. There was just... so much about all this that made her hurt. No kid deserved to ever have to experience this kind of tragedy. The girl bent down onto her knees to hug the stone dragon... Warm to the touch, but she knew that it wasn't her that would need the comfort. "... Thats a nice name, Brenton. Mine means peaceful child." she softly spoke, giving the Rookie a reassuring pat on the back. "Its okay to cry... I know what you are feeling. I... lost my parents too."
There was nothing else here for them.
Taking her D-Tector, Wakako opened up a Digiport with the wavy figment of the Moving Library's innards... gazing meekly at Brenton. "You should come with me... There are a lot of nice people where I'm going... We'll be safe." she attempted to softly assure them, even so far as taking their claw. "We'll be safe."
For now.
