As the tired MetalMeramon and the green Coredramon looked at each other, the blond tamer was holding his breath hoping that the fight would end soon. This fight was the longest of all the fights they had since forever. He wasn't sure how long his partner could stay in this form before reverting into a DemiMeramon and that would give the green dragon a sure victory. Desmond felt utterly helpless. Taking another step back just in case, the Frenchman tried to take a quick glance at the green Digimon. It was hard to tell if it was as tired as his partner was. "Demi!" He then shouted after a moment of silence. The Digimon of fire and steel turned his head slightly to the right to faintly see his tamer over his shoulder. Desmond was going to ask if he was still alright to fight but realize that this question was pointless. So he just opened his mouth but no words came out.
Demi slowly turned his attention back to his opponent and heard it roaring at them. If he wasn't in his champion form, he would be scared and paralyzed. But in this form, he was fearless. He had to be, for Desmond. Roaring back loudly into the air making the canyon echo, the MetalMeramon began running toward his enemy who did the same. The Coredramon was faster and thus had more momentum as he jumped a few feet in the air and just his legs hoping to dropkick the larger Digimon. Using his massive left arm to block the attack, Demi shifted his weight on his left leg and twisted his body in an attempt to punch the dragon with his right fist. While the green Digimon had more speed behind his kick, the MetalMeramon used that speed against him. Both legs hit his left arm at the same time making a loud metallic sound which was quickly followed by the impact of a giant fist to the body of the Coredramon.
The wild Digimon's body hit the ground on one of his wings and a cracking sound could be heard. Demi didn't waste a second as he tried to hammer his left fist on the enemy that was laying on his side. The giant fist of metal crashed into the exposed shoulder and shrieking echoed around. The sound was so loud that it made Desmond shiver and take another step back almost tripping and fall down. But that sound was a good sign, right? The MetalMeramon used his right hand and created a fireball in the palm of it. The ball grew bigger and bigger before slamming it into the Coredramon's head. The green dragon began thrashing around trying to escape and managed to do so by swinging his tail around hitting Demi on the side. It didn't really hurt that much, it just gave him the split second he needed to roll on one side and stand up. But this time, he was hurt. One of his eyes was closed with half of his face charred by the fire.
The blond tamer saw that sign of weakness in the Coredramon and hope overcame him. This should end well, it needed to be that way. "Go Demi!" He cheered out loud. "You can do it!" Demi straightened his body using his height to discourage the now badly hurt green Coredramon. He was hoping that the dragon would just give up and flee. But it didn't even flinch as he simply spat on the ground and a half grin could be seen. The two champions Digimon stared at each other for a second or two both trying to calculate their next attacks. Demi was going to start running but he heard Desmond voice from behind him. "Stay put!" The voice said. "He's hurt! Let him come to you!"
While it wasn't the brightest plan ever, it was still a plan. By now, Desmond was pretty sure that the enemy wasn't going to fly due to his crippled wing and he had no real long range attacks. Thus, if he wasn't going to back down, then he would have to come to them and maybe, just maybe, waste his energy on that. Demi nodded and decided to take one step backward to show that he wasn't going to move and this made the Coredramon very angry. The Digimon roared one more time before charging in. The MetalMeramon braced for impact by taking a defensive stance, his left arm in front of him and his right now raised up ready to counterattack.
The two Digimon clashed into each other. The green dragon was relentless and made a frontflip hoping that his tail would his the head of the MetalMeramon. Demi did not anticipate that flip and fell the heavy blow on his head making him tumble on his back. The Coredramon was only on top of him and began swinging his claws on the larger Digimon. "No!" Desmond shouted has panic settled in him. "Demi! Fight back!" A small second passed by as the Coredramon was clawing his way into the helmet of Demi. Large marks could now be seen on his armored head. It would take another long second before he managed to grab his crippled wing and pull it away from its body. The wild Digimon felt it wings being pulled to one side and tried to go for a big but Demi's other hand grabbed his other wing and with all his might, he tore his left wind apart from its body making the Digimon scream in pain and rolling on the ground.
It wasn't deleted yet but it was bleeding from his now removed wing. Demi threw the wing on one side and was about to attack once more but he heard his tamer's voice. "Stop!" The MetalMeramon turned around surprised. "Let him be..." The blond tamer said. "He won't fight back..." His partner turned his head one last time to see the now very crippled enemy. His tamer was right, there is no need to delete him. "Let's go find the other one." Demi nodded and took Desmond into his left arm and began making his way toward where the Wizardmon and the Sorcermon went to, leaving the green Croredramon on the ground roaring. Hopefully, they would be still alive by the time they reach them.
