Snatch and Grab [Eris/Warg]
|
Post by Eris on Jan 9, 2019 5:22:46 GMT
It was a quiet day. The weather pleasant, the temperature not really too hot nor too cold. The sort of day where even the most hidebound recluse would think twice about remaining indoors opting instead to go outside and enjoy a few hours of much needed sunlight. Small digimon frolicked under the watchful eyes of their parents, a few even flew kites in the light breeze, in fact in the minds of many the day would go down as a perfect day. Warg however, would not be so lucky. The barest low vibrating buzz would be the only warning the Black Guilmon would have before he'd find himself grabbed about the middle and yanked into the air by a Kuwagamon of all things. Though as the menacing bug tightened their grip around him giving him a solid shake for their efforts he'd find he was not alone in his capture. There trapped in the creatures other claw was a small red Gigimon. Their ears laid back flat against the wind as they peered up at him with slightly watering big blue eyes as they let out a distressed 'Meep!' as the Kowagamon decided to given them another shake too for good measure to remind both his captives to behave.

...Dear, dear him. Warg tapped his claw on the Kuwagamon's chitinous arm annoyedly. He's normally a jolly Black Guilmon X who just love to mind his business and at times act as supportive (or humorously annoying) brother for people. He also a very supportive partner for his human link, Nakano Koharu. How can he get captured however, he had no idea. He doesn't even have a chance to evolve!
A shake from his captor reminds him to behave, but even then, he was PISSED. Hell, the only time he's this annoyed is back then where he spent most of his time in Dark Area as Black Agumon. But either way... No more Mr. Nice guy. As they passed some tree, Warg cut himself a branch out of the tallest tree.
"Oi, bugface. Lemme just tell you, it's fine and dandy to capture an Ultimate stage Digimon, but to capture a baby? You just done and make me so angry, mate. That's not cool. So here's what I'm going to do."
Warg quickly shoved the entire branch in the insect's mouth. Be it gaping or not, not his problem. He immediately followed his attack with a blast of fire from his mouth. He hope that's enough for it to drop them!

"Will you shut~" The Kuwagamon began only to find his mouth suddenly full of a leafy branch leaving him gagging and choking as the thing lodge in his throat. "MPH!" Their capture yelled in alarm as he convulsed releasing the two in shock as it tried to pull the stick from his throat. Leaving the Black Guilmon and the tiny Gigimon suddenly plummeting through the air as the bugs red claws uncurled from around them in his choking spasms.
Eris letting out a sharp scream as she dropped like a stone towards the earth below her little feet flailing in panic as she tried to fan her ears to stay aloft as the ground rapidly approached to no avail. At least until suddenly with a crackle of energy the little device on her belt kicked in suspending the tiny Gigimon as her plummet became a slow leisurely drift instead down through the leafy canopy.

Oh good, looks like it's working! And now he's freefalling--not! Warg dived down headfirst, attempting to at least get to the point where he could kick a tree to move him toward the baby. Thankfully, he's heavier, and the moment he saw a nearest tree, Warg activated his anti-gravity device. To his amusement, the baby also have it, but that's beside the point. He immediately catch her midair and finally landed on a tree. He doesn't trust the muddy ground below at all.
"Well howdy there young one. Been a ride eh? Sorry if I scared you back there. But at any rate, can you trust me on this one? I'm not a kidnapper or anything like that, just... an unlucky guy I guess. Same like you. I'll do my best to get you to safety, and when we met up with my partner and sis, I'll get you to safety alright?"
Slowly, Warg descended down, but made sure to not get to the water or the muddy ground. "There you go..." and he put down Eris once he's sure that it's safe.
"Are you hurt anywhere? Sorry I don't have any bandages or bandaids on me. I'm not a healer ya see... Heh, I don't think I can heal either, to be honest!"

Despite the anti-gravity suit Eris clung tightly to Warg practically trying to meld to his scales as they shimmied their way down from the canopy. Her blue eyes wide with a mix of shock, fear, and surprise though hints of wide eyed amazement were beginning to filter into her gaze. "That..." She whispered staring up at the Black Guilmon as he carefully set her down. "That.." She stammered once more before letting out a soft sound of joy. "That was so cool!" The Gigimon exclaimed dancing back and forth. "You were lack wham! And Bam! and "I'm not putting up with this no more!" Then snap! And jab and suddenly we were falling and you dove for me!" The little In-Training yelled out in excitement pantomiming Warg's actions with her stubby little limbs before she beamed up at him tail wagging in excitement. "I'm Eris by the way! What's your name!?" She questioned bouncing lightly in-place.

Aw heh, some fan? This is just so precious. Warg grinned at the baby. "Hah, if ya keep all the praise going like that I'll have to give you a signature, kid~ Heh, just joking. And looks like you're unhurt, so that's good. Name's Warg, nice to meet ya, Eris. Not everyday a Black Guilmon like me got a fan, heh."
For a moment, Warg looked at the sky, anticipating more attacks... but it doesn't seem that there are more attackers, so he guess it's safe for now. "Can you walk?" he asked. "If you're too tired you can climb on and make yourself comfortable. However, help me act as my second pair of eyes, alright?"
Either way, why is she here? The Bayou isn't exactly a safe place... Even the forest is slightly risky, but the Bayou? Oh Homeostasis, spare him.
"...Say, where from does that bugface grabbed ya? It's a rather dangerous place for a baby to be in place like this. Did you have a friend? Or perhaps traveling along with some stronger Digimons?"
...Worst case is that this girl somehow is a Linked digimon, just like him... but he'd rather not think about that. Drats, if only he have way to communicate with his friends... Sadly, he had no idea how to.

"Nice to meet you Warg! And I can walk! I'm really strong or I will be! I'm gonna be a knight!" Eris exclaimed beaming up at him brightly though admittedly the offer to ride on his shoulder was tempting and she was kinda tired, but she was gonna be a knight and knight didn't get tired! So while she glanced at Warg longingly she didn't take him up on the offer. Instead turning to the subject of just how a valiant knight to be like herself ended up here.
"I was traveling home with my Squire-to-be and we got separated when that bug snatched me. I wasn't too worried though cause once I bit a DexDORUgamon for attacking my friend so I'm really tough." She assured him reaching out to pat him comfortingly on the foot.
"I can protect you if your scared though Warg. I know swamps can be scary places. I read about them in books and there are all sorts of things in them, but don't worry I'll run them off ok?" She chirped, "And you're cool enough you'd probably be ok, but my Dad says that even heroes get scared sometimes."

"Heh, Knight, Eh? Good luck with that, lass. I'll be rooting for ya. Your heart is in the right place, and that's the most important quality to be a knight. But even then..." Warg gently picked up the baby and put her on top of his head. "A knight also need to know when to take a hospitality, they also need to save up their energy for future battles. Therefore, my lady knight, I shall carry you for the meantime, until your strength is needed, aye? Now let's t--WAIT WHAT."
A baby biting an Adult stage, what manner of crazy turn of event is this? Well, the adult probably will just shrug her off but Warg cannot help but to decide to chide her.
"First, Milady, a knight should know about her calibre. It's dangerous to attack an adult stage, even as a child stage. A knight must be brave, but a knight shan't be suicidal. I shall praise your heart, but you must remember... two heads are better than one. If you fall in your battle, then you're reducing the manpower. Therefore, you must accurately gauge what you can do. I hope you excuse my harsh chiding, but tis is simply a counsel from an old lizard."
Heh, still, this is one precious bean. "Ah, Milady, I'm already assured with your presence here. Had the foul creature dropped me alone I would have ended up alone by myself. At times I found talking with other person very relaxing."
The comment about heroes being scared just made him chuckle. "Yes, yes, heroes does indeed get scared. I too got scared easily in places new to me. But you know, being brave is not lack of fear. Being brave means you do what you feel is right and act selflessly while that fear is present in your heart. That, is what it means to be a hero."
Warg slowly trekked the place, hoping to find some wooden bridges that could show them the "main road" so to say... but he haven't found any, to his disappointment.

Eris wiggled a little in Warg's grip, but didn't fight him as he set her down upon his head. Instead she did her best to balance herself reaching out to very gently grip his ears so she wouldn't fall off. Though that didn't stop the Gigimon from pouting a bit at his chiding.
"But he was gonna kill my friend. I couldn't just stand there and let him." She explained lower lip wobbling a little. Alpha had ended up just fine thanks to her distraction, but in those initial moments things had looked grim. Terrifyingly grim.
"But I promise I'll be more careful." The little Gigimon conceded as she rested her chin lightly atop his head her own little ears flickering as she listened to the various noises of the Bayou. Surrounding them now was mostly bog and water with the dry spots being the roots of trees that poked out above the murk though their surfaces were often slick with moss. Making for difficult and slippery terrain.
"Do you think anybody lives out here?" Eris questioned softly.

"Alas, that's always the case isn't it?" Warg commented sadly "when you're not strong enough to save someone, you become desperate... I guess in this case you did a bit of the right thing, but it's still dangerous nonetheless. Well, you did great, young lady."
That promise was more than enough for Warg. "Yeah, be careful, no matter what. Even when you're strong. Would you mind listening to an old lizard's rant, young knight?"
Warg walked deeper and deeper, and all he can see so far are only damp bogs and dilapidated wooden bridges. How he hoped he could climb on something but nay, he's too heavy... So, he decided to just talk to not make this trek boring.
"I took my strength for granted. Too many times actually. First when it was truly needed to survive and I came out as the cream of the crop... the second time when I got partnered with someone... I... failed to protect her, you see. There was no absolute strength. I learned it the hard way. Well, she and I is still together and all, but she lost her memories of me and my sister... or digital world for that matter. I don't think that thing would attack unlinked one like you. But either way, I feel like your heart is right where it is. Just remember that even a knight can and should be supported too. A knight isn't invincible... but I think your father already told you this, eh? Hah hah."
the locals eh...
"...There are actually. Uh... they speak local languages though... or at least those who lives in the deeper part of the forest... If I recall correctly, they speak with..." Warg make clicking sounds with his tongue. "...Something like th--"
Out of sudden, there are sound of clicking in reply from the depth of the grooves.
"...Ay, this is not good. I don't know how to translate this local language. It's not in my program!"

"They...click?" Eris asks with a tilt of her head big blue eyes wide with curiosity as she tries to click her own tongue to mimic him only to startle as from the depths of the forest another click sounded.
"Hey look they're talking back to us!" She exclaimed brightly, "Hi people! How do I say hi in clicks? Maybe...?" And she paused trying to clumsily click her tongue again to call out to the newcomers hoping she didn't accidentally insult them in the process. That would be bad. Though that didn't stop her from lifting a hand atop where she was perched on her friend and waving.
"HIII! We can't understand you!" Eris called out hoping maybe they'd get the picture.

"Why yes, they clicks," Warg repeated. "...Although I don't really know what this one want r--"
And suddenly the sound of the click getting louder... only suddenly two pair of reptilian eyes stared at them from a bog. It followed by a long snout and muddy looking scales. The full visage appeared afterward. It looked like a small crocodile... a bipedal one. Muddy... no, sandy? It looked like it thrives in earthy places. Few rocks grew from its limbs, and its arms looked bigger than most reptillian Digimons. Both of its arms and its tail is decorated with belts. The tip of its tail is colored red for some reason.
It opened and snapped it jaws shut several times. But it doesn't look aggressive... more to... inquisitive?
"...Huh?"
It repeated the gesture again upon that.
"Errr... Do you want to... talk?"
It tilted its head, but then pointed at Warg, then snaps his mouth several times again, then politely offered his hand to him.
"? Uh... I'm sorry, but I don't think we know your language..."
The poor croc Digimon tilted its head again, before looking at Eris, then at Warg again. It made several primitive croc sounds... but clearly Warg doesn't understand. The croc then pointed at Warg, then at Eris, then make a spinning motion with his claw above his head.
"...Are we... lost? Lost? Confused? I think it said that, right? Um..." Warg tried to think about it again... if he recalls it, yes is... Warg clapped.
The Digimon, upon seeing that he finally understood, clicked happily... only to somehow reminded that these two doesn't speak his language and probably only doing things randomly. The croc scratched his long snout before clapped thrice. He made a 'follow me" gesture with his paw.
"...Um, should we follow?"

Eris, who due to a few members of Icy Fate refusing to speak for personal reasons, was far more used to the game of pantomime. The little Gigimon eagerly perking up at the Crocs appearance as she beams at him in excitement.
"Oh! He wants us to follow him!" She chirped, Warg luckily catching on shortly after her as the little dragon Digimon nearly slips down the Black Guilmon's head in her excitement. Her little forelegs perched atop his snout as she balances carefully atop his head her tail wagging like a tiny flag.
"Yeah we should follow him! I bet he knows how to get out of here! Sides if he's bad we can just bite him." She states matter of factly though it was clear Eris didn't really think the nice Croc was bad.

"Milady, you're slipping," Warg chuckled at the antics of the younger Gigimon. He gently nudged her back to her position. "If he's bad, bite him? Nah, I don't really think he's a bad guy... probably just had no idea how to speak to us, just like us had no idea how to speak with him."
And thus, the two followed the croc, who decided to swim on the mud instead of going up the bridge like they do. He eventually led them to what looked like the deeper part of the bayou... There are some huts here, floating on the water. The water also deeper, and seem to be less muddy. The croc Digimon grabbed one of the bell and rang it three times. Some other Digimons appeared, but they're mostly Otamamons, Betamons, and other amphibian Digimons. The biggest they can see is a Mori Shellmon, who also speaks in the same clicking way. They clicks, clamp their mouth and open it in turn, and seem to speak in orderly manner.
...That is, at least until from the depth of the grove appeared an Orochimon.
"Hello, visitors."
"! Someone who can speak our language finally!"
"Ah, yes, my apologies. The younger ones unfortunately has never stepped outside the boundaries of the village, thus lacking the ability to converse with you. I see you have met Wanimon, our youngest member. Are you happened to be lost, perhaps?"
"...Yes, we're frankly lost..."
"Hmmm... why... let's talk about this in my house shall we?"
