(SALUTATIONS TO OUR THREAD! If you want, we can request an NPC later - I'm happy to aim for those 10 posts.) Towers of crumbling sand melting into the desert? Check. Mysterious carvings snaking around the buildings, a herald to a long lost past? Check. Eerie wind that screeches through the columns, warning of ghosts and dead within? Check. Maki looked down at the straggly, torn piece of parchment in her hand then back up at the tall archway in front of her, broken in the middle from a battle long ago. “Ancient ruins, it says. Yeah, this is probably the place” she decided with a grin, beaming up at it.
Man it was huge, like something out of an Indiana Jones film. She almost expected Nazis to march out. Maki tapped the archway with her hand, feeling the rough, gravelled texture bitty against her fingers. “So cool” Maki squealed, hopping up and down. This place was a climber's dream! An explorer's heaven! Maybe there was a secret tomb somewhere inside or a long lost tribe living in the solitude of the ruins or a hidden secret hiding somewhere in the rafters. Either way, there was going to be a lot of exploring to do! She giggled excitedly and turned, looking expectantly around. There were *supposed* to be other people coming, or so the leaflet claimed. Two fellow archaeologists come to try their hand at treasure hunting.
Puffing out her cheeks impatiently, Maki rocked on her heels as she looked around, hands shoved in her pockets. The place was empty as a graveyard. Maki wandered over to an upturned boulder, perching on it in boredom as she sank her head into her hands. “This was the meeting place, right?” She frowned, double checking the leaflet again. She squinted as she tried to make out the squiggly handwriting. “Maybe they're just late?” she asked aloud, turning the paper upside down to see if that helped. It didn't. “Or maybe I'm stupidly early”.
She rummaged in her hoodie pocket and pulled out a battered mobile, tapping the buttons lightly with her thumb until the time displayed on her screen. It was...probably the right time... Though come to think of it, she didn't really know how human hours connected to digimon hours. Was 5 o'clock in the human world the same as in the digital world? Did time even pass the same way here? What if it went faster in the human world? What if it went slower? That would mean...
“What if I'm late?” Maki realised in horror, leaping to her feet. Maybe she should go inside, have a nosy around, work out if anyone had been there lately. It wasn't like she was itching to have a look anyway. Nope! Maki took a step forward then hesitated, looking behind her again. She had only been here a few minutes really. She should at least give them a chance to show up. Five minutes. Maybe ten. Maki fidgeted then collapsed back onto the rock, crossing her legs to stop herself from compulsively tapping. Did she still have snake on her phone?

"Uhh... Crystal? Are you sure you know where your going?" Asked Pure as he used his ear to wipe some beads of sweat from his forehead.
"Of course I do. According to this, we just need to keep heading due north from here and we should be there any moment time now." Replied his sister as she looked at a leaflet in her hands.
"I hate to tell you this Crys, but were heading south." Pure said as he stopped in his tracks. Crystal stopped as well looking back at him with a curious look.
"Wait. We are? How can you tell?"
"Judging from the sun it's about late afternoon now, which means it's approximately to the west. Which means that the sun should be on our left, and not on our right. Come on Crys, you should know this. Your the one that taught me this after all."
"I did? When?" The Lopmon asked, not remembering teaching Pure anything like that.
Pure, noticing what he had said, turned around and began heading the other direction. "Uhh... Don't worry about it Crys. Let's just hurry up and begin heading towards this place.
Crystal grimaced as her brother avoided her question, having a good guess why he would. I guess I taught him that before I lost my memory
"Hey Crys. Where is this job suppose to be anyhow, and what exactly are we going to be doing out here in the middle of this desert?" Pure asked as he noticed his sister's grimace, wanting to change the subject.
"Ohh... Didn't I tell you. We're suppose to be meeting with someone else outside some ruins to do some archaeology work."
Pure face paled abit. "Archaeology work? You mean digging up dead and/or cursed stuff?" Pure asked nervously, not really wanting to know the answer.
"Hopefully" Crystal cheerfully responded, obviously excited about this trip. Pure, on the otherhand, wasn't so excited as he fainted from fear (and possibly heat exhaustion).
"Pure? Pure!" Was the last thing Pure heard before his consciousness was enveloped by darkness.
It wouldn't be long before Maki would notice a small figure in the sand heading her way. As it got closer, she would be able to tell that it wasn't a solitary figure at all, but a Lopmon carrying a Terriermon on her back. Once she had finally made it to the meeting spot, Crystal would give a sigh of relief as she lied her unconscious brother down on the ground in the shade of some of the ruins.
"Geez Pure. When did you get so heavy? At least were finally here." She would then notice the human that was there with them. "Oh... Hey. I'm guessing your the other archaeologist they hired for this job. Sorry if we're late. We kind of took a wrong turn." Crystal explained.

Maki lay flopped back on the rock, staring up at the sky as she let out a low groan. “How long are they going to take?” she whined to the sky, swinging her legs back and forth in boredom. After waiting five minutes, She'd taken the liberty of having a nose about just inside the ruins, hoping to find the other archaeologists waiting inside. While she had found a pretty neat room filled with old pottery, some of which had broken a teeny tiny bit, there had been no sign of her fellow archaeologists, so back to the waiting game she had gone. There were only so many games of snake she could take.
“If they're not here soon” Maki declared to the sky, sitting up as she squinted into the horizon, “I swear I'm going to break more than a few pots.” Maybe she could do the job by herself. How hard could finding a few interesting items be? Then she could go climbing up some of the taller buildings, get an awesome view of the desert and- Wait, were those people? “People?” Maki exclaimed, a smile shooting onto her face as she jumped up. She lifted her hand to her face, squinting through the sun as she watched the thing approaching. It looked like two digimon joined together, shuffling towards her. As they got closer though, it became obvious that one was carrying the other. Had something happened?
Worried, Maki dashed to them, squinting down at the green digimon. “Is he okay?” she asked warily, poking it with her toe as she looked it over curiously. “You know” she mused thoughtfully, eyes flicking from the long ears to the green patterning to the roundish face, “it looks like a green version of me, when I'm possessed by- Oh heck, you're a Lopmon.” She started when she noticed Crystal's actual appearance, taking a step back before her face brightened and she grinned widely. “It's cool, no biggy. I wasn't bored or anything” she said quickly, waving the apology away. Yeah, she'd been annoyed a few minutes ago, but there were far more interesting things at hand here. “You're a Lopmon? Like...a natural Lopmon?” she asked excitedly, waving her hands as she indicated Crystal's ears and horns, “That's so cool! I'm a Lopmon too! I mean...obviously not an actual Lopmon but I can turn into one so this is such a cool coincidence. This archaeology stuff is gonna be so awesome!”
As far as Maki was concerned, it boded well for the job. They were going to get on well. She could feel it in her bones. She could even forgive their lateness...as long as the green one didn't hold them back too much. “Seriously though, is he alright?” she asked, crouching down to look at the terriermon. Maki poked him again with her finger, prodding his cheeks and ears. “Green Lopmon, do you read me?” She glanced back at the ruins with a frown, wondering how safe it was to leave him outside and head on in with the Lopmon. “Is this normal for him?” she asked the other Lopmon bluntly, “Kind of a pain.”

She's a spirit wielder, and she can turn into a Lopmon. Probably shouldn't tell Pure that when he wakes up. It'll probably cause him to just faint again. She thought as Maki told her that she can transform into a Lopmon. A smug smile then grew on her face as she got an idea.
Crystal's attention then turned back to her brother as Maki started asking questions about his current condition. Pure himself remained unconscious as Maki prodded his cheek and ears, his body only moving slightly out of obvious discomfort from being poked by the girl. Thinking about it now though, Crystal realized that there may be more to Pure's condition then she originally thought.
"No. Now that you mention it, this isn't normal for him." She told Maki as she took Pure's canteen. While he was known to freeze up or run away when something scares him, he has never fallen unconscious like this before. Opening up his canteen, she saw that her suspicions were correct. The canteen was completely empty.
"You idiot. Why didn't you tell me you ran out of water." She said in a low growl, feeling guilty she hadn't notice this earlier. She then quickly took out her own canteen, and splashed some water on his face saying, "Come on, wake up Pure."
Pure soon coughed as the water invaded his nose and mouth uninvited. His eyes then opened slowly as he returned to the land of the awake. As his vision returned to focus, he saw his sister... and some strange human girl standing over him.
"Huh? Crys? Where are we and who is this?" He asked as he jumped onto his feet, backing away from the girl.
"We're at the meeting spot. I had to carry you all the way here after you fainted." Crystal told him, "And next time you run out of water, and were traveling through a desert, you should tell me. Now drink slowly. There's no need for you to drown yourself after all this." She added as she shoved her canteen towards Pure, her words carrying a mixture of venom and worry.
"I'm sorry sis." Was the only thing Pure managed to say before he began drinking out of Crystal's canteen. While there wasn't much water left in it, he resisted the urge to drink it all at once knowing he'd only get on his sister's bad side if he did. To tell the truth though, Pure felt a bit of nostalgia having his sister take care of him like this.
Crystal sighed as she returned her attention back to Maki. "I'm sorry about that bit of drama there. I should have known something else was up when he fainted like that instead of thinking that he was just being his normal cowardly self"
"Hey!" Pure interrupted, feeling slightly insulted. Even if what she said was true.
"Anyways, I guess we should fully introduce ourselves. I'm Crystal, and my brother over there is Pure. Also just so you know, he's not a green Lopmon, but a Terriermon." Crystal said with a smile, excited to get pass that piece of drama and to start doing some archaeology. "So shall we finally get started."

“Oh good, so he's not normally comatose then?” Maki exclaimed in relief, dismissing thoughts of having to haul a deadweight rabbit across walls and rooftops. If there were rooftops. It was kind of hard to tell from the ground. Maki glanced restlessly at the ruins behind them as Crystal fussed around with Pure. Jumping to her feet, she rocked on her heels, tapping impatiently. “So...it's just dehydration, right? He'll just get over it?” she asked, watching as Crystal pulled out a canteen and shoved it into Pure's mouth.
Apparently so. Maki grinned as the digimon spluttered awake, raising her hands as the small guy panicked, stepping back a few feet. “Chill, I'm not going to hurt you,” she said quickly, glancing at Crystal, “I'm your archaeology partner. The name is Maki.” She gave them both a bit of space to get back to speed, resisting the urge to make bored humming noises under her breath. As they sorted out water, Maki pulled a small bottle from her own rucksack, taking a small sip. It was hot enough that she was tempted to just down it, but it'd be pretty embarrassing if she went and fainted later on. Better savour each sip.
Maki grinned lightheartedly as Crystal turned back to her. “It's cool, as long as he doesn't go fainting at everrrrything. He looks heavy, there is no way I'm carrying him,” Maki said, making a face as she eyed the digimon up and down. “Is he gonna be cut out for this if he's a coward?” she asked sceptically, shoving her hands on her fist, “We're going into old, abandoned ruins.” Maki turned to look up at them, face brightening as she clenched her fists. “There could be treasure!” she declared, eyes glittering with excitement, ”A lost civilisation still alive under the sand! Or maybe vicious cannibals! Or Zombies! Or snakes!” She nodded solemnly, imagining herself to be a heroic explorer, braving the unknown in search of mysteries.
“There are always snakes,” Maki said bluntly, turning back to Pure and Crystal,“It's kind of a rule.” She glared at Pure, pointing at him dramatically with her index finger. “Can you handle it, Mr Pure?” she barked dramatically, “Well, can ya?” Maki stared at him for a few seconds before she burst out laughing, relaxing into a slouch. “We'll probably just find old pottery and it'll be really boring,” Maki groaned, reaching down to pat the Digimon in a friendly manner, “I should probably get suited and booted too. Two seconds!” She pulled out her digivice, pressing at the buttons. Glowing white, she transformed into a squat, brown and pink bunny with overly long spiked ears, the mirror image of Crystal. “Tada!” Maki joked with a smile, “Now we're triplets! Let's go!”

Pure backed away some from Maki as she listed what they could find in the ruins they are heading towards. While treasure was fine, the fact that they might have to face cannibals, zombies, or snakes frightened him. Especially snakes as they were the most realistic threat they faced. Then again, they could end up against undead digimon, which were technically zombie, and most digimon absorb each others data upon death, which is technically cannibalism. And why was he trying to talk himself out of this?
Pure nearly shook his head no when Maki asked if he could handle it. However, he stopped himself as Maki laughed, telling him that they'll probably only find old pottery. While annoyed by her patting him on the head, he let out a sigh of relief. Well that's one less thing to worry about.
At least, it was until Maki mention that she was going to get suited. Pure looked at her strangely, not understanding what she said until she pulled out a digivice. This girl was a spirit wielder. Pure turned away as she began to glow, and once the glow had disappeared, he turned to see a Lopmon in her place.
"A Lopmon?" Pure asked as he looked at Maki. If he didn't knew any better, he'd say that she was the splitting image of his sister.
Meanwhile, Crystal studied Maki's new form as they headed towards the ruins. "It's almost like looking in a mirror." She mentioned absentmindedly before turning towards Pure, "Good thing I have this necklace. Huh Pure?" She asked her brother with a smile on her face.
"Why?"
"So you could tell us apart." Crystal said, wondering why Pure didn't notice something so obvious.
"Just because you two are both Lopmon doesn't mean I can't tell you apart. Give me some credit, your my sister afterall." Pure mentioned matter-of-factly.
Crystal looked at him strangely before nodding. "Well we'll see about that." She said under her breath as she started getting a sort of twisted idea in her head. Now to see if she could get Maki alone, and to agree to help her. For now though.
"Spirit Wielders powers come from different elements right? So what type of element is your spirit anyways Maki?" She asked Maki curiously, kind of wanting to know what type of element Lopmon's count as.

“Are you sure, Pure?” Maki asked, looking down at herself then at Crystal, “We look pretty much identical to me. Reminds me of this old kids film I watched once, a Disney one, with twins and stuff...” She looked over at them hopefully, expecting recognition of some kind, before she grinned sheepishly, rubbing her head. “I guess you wouldn't know it, huh? Do digimon even have movies? I didn't really see any obvious ads in Terminus.” She skipped for a few steps, hopping from one foot to the other as she looked up at the buildings on either side of them, broken and cracked with dark, gloomy windows and gaping doors. She couldn't wait to have a look inside! Green arrows were snaking all over the place, showing many, many possible doors to go through.
Maki perked up at the question, grinning smugly at Crystal. “Yep, my spirit comes from my own special element, duh,” she exclaimed enthusiastically, saluting with her left hand at the two digimon, “I'm not sure if it's the actual, specific element, but the lady in my head told me she was giving me the ability to fly free, so I'm pretty sure it's freedom,” Maki explained, tiptoeing along one of the green arrows as she chatted happily, “I don't really get how that works with a rabbit though. I mean, the freedom bit makes sense because of the whole arrow thing you have going on, which is really neat by the way, but where does flight come in?”
Maki pulled at her ears, holding them out pointedly. “I mean, these ears aren't exactly built for flight,” Maki complained, tugging at them irritably, “They're too big and heavy. I've tried jumping off things and flapping them but it didn't really work well.” Her eyes brightened as she remembered she was talking to a born Lopmon and she turned with a manic grin to Crystal. “You're a Lopmon,” she said stupidly, smiling at her, “How do you fly with your ears? Do you spin them? I did wonder if it might be some sort of helicopter thing. Like that fox character...whatshisface.” Maki tried spinning them experimentally, sticking her tongue out as she concentrated on generating some motion. With a bit of effort, they began to move a little, but she quickly gave up, frowning, when nothing more happened.
“I hope we run into something cool,” Maki said finally, letting the ears drop in disappointment as she switched her attention back to the buildings, “I mean, a lost civilisation is a bit much to hope for but finding some cool treasure would be neat. Did the recruitment guy say where we should start? I can't remember.” She groped around for the leaflet. Of course, it was still in her pockets, which were completely inaccessible in Lopmon's form. She made a face, looking around as if hoping there'd be a big, flashing, neon light saying 'START HERE'. No such luck. “Do either of you know?” she asked Crystal and Pure.

"Yes I'm sure." Pure told Maki, abit annoyed that she was questioning this. It didn't matter how many Lopmon were around, he knew his sister when he saw here, and that was that. He didn't even bother answering Maki's question about movies, leaving that one for Crystal to answer.
Crys thought back for a moment. "I believe we have movies, though we never had stayed in any city long enough to see one." She said, not really sure of her answer. It was just one of those things she never got much of a chance to see.
Crystal listened intently as Maki said that her spirit was freedom. While Crys found it abit strange that a Lopmon represented freedom, she found it more strange when she mentioned. At the mention of that, she only half-listened to the spirit Lopmon as she wrapped her head around what she meant by the whole arrow thing. She then snapped out of her trance when she started hearing Maki ask her all sorts of questions about flying.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know. I've never been able to fly before, nor do I believe any Lopmon is able to. Though..." She paused for a second as she ponder the idea, her grin growing on her face, "It'd be awesome if were actual able to fly. Let's try right now." Crystal almost began to run off to see if she could fly before Pure's voice stopped her.
"Umm... Crys? Can we focus on the job at hand first?" Pure said, worried that if he didn't, his sister would try jumping from an extremely tall place or something stupid like that to see if she could fly.
"Alright killjoy." Crys pouted before hearing Maki ask if either of them remember where they were suppose to start. Pure looked over at Crystal as she thought about it as she was the one that got the pair the job in the first. He really hoped that she remembered.
"Well... If I remember correctly the recruitment guy said that we should start digging in the center of a weird rock formation that looks like three triangles in a triangle shape, or something like that." Crystal said.
"Triangle? You mean like pyramids?" Pure asked, not quite understanding what she was saying.
"I don't think so. I believe he meant that they were regular triangles, each residing in a corner of an even larger triangle."
"Uhh... Crys? It sound's like something we'll need to be above in order to see. How exactly are we supposed to see that?" Pure asked, trying to picture the image in his head.
"I don't know. I thought that it was easy enough directions to follow at the time." Crystal admitted as she turned to Maki, hoping that the other Lopmon might have the answer their looking for.

“No Lopmon has ever flown? Really?” Maki repeated, her face falling in dismay as she stared at the other digimon. She'd managed to get a bit of lift though, hadn't she? She flapped her ears stubbornly, jumping on the spot a few times. “I bet we could if we jumped off a high enough building,” Maki agreed, pointing with her paw at some of the ruins, “I almost flew when I fell out of a tree. Almost.” She grinned manically as Pure interrupted, trying to become the voice of reason in a house of Lopmon.
Maki frowned thoughtfully, rubbing her chin as she looked around. “Rocks that look like three triangles, huh?” she repeated, eyes flicking from building to building. They all looked kind of square and clunky. Not a triangle among the bunch. “What if we climb a building to get a better view?” she asked, eyes brightening at the opportunity to actually start looking around. Immediately, her eyes fell on a tall, cylindrical building that looked like it might have been a watch tower once upon a time, with an open roof and slits in the walls. “How about that one?” Maki grinned and dashed towards it, pushing upon the remains of a wooden door as she peered into the murky gloom.
“Helllloooo” Maki called, stepping forward as she trudged through a layer of debris and abandoned rubbish, wincing as something sharp cracked under her paws. “Anyone here? Any cannibals? Ancient tribesmen? Crazy people?” She looked around, eyes adjusting to the gloom as she continued forward. There was a stone table at one side of the room and a hole in the ceiling, the source of the rubbish. As Maki looked down, she realised the sharp thing she'd stepped on was something resembling a digivice, except smaller and cracked. She winced, taking her foot of it as she looked reassuringly for the arrows. One snaked back out the way she came, one seemed convinced she'd be able to reach the hole in the ceiling and the final one snaked across the room.
Maki tramped after it, watching out for anything else sharp or dangerous. When she reached the other side of the room, her eyes lit up as she spotted a set of stairs hidden in the wall. They were broken and narrow, but otherwise still functional. Maki grinned, looking behind her. “Crystal, Pure, I have found stairs” she called, taking a few tentative steps up. Testing them, she jumped a couple of times and she laughed as they held. “I bet we could climb up from here,” Maki called, looking up them, “The view is going to be amazing!”

((Sorry for the delay. My muse for the twins have been running thin.))
"That could work. Are there any tall enough though?" Crystal told Maki when she advised that they climb up one of the buildings to get a better look. It wasn't long before the Spirit Wielder pointed out an ancient watchtower of some type. "That could work." Crystal happily replied as she chased after the other Lopmon with a less then enthusiastic Pure following behind.
Crystal's gazed upon the interior of the watchtower with amazement. She wondered who had built this old tower, and what exact purpose was it built for? Being a watchtower, it was probably built to keep an eye out for anyone hostile, but there was no way to be sure.
Pure, on the otherhand, wasn't so amazed by it. It seemed to be just an old building to him. He looked on the ground noticing many loose objects of unknown origin on the floor. "Hey Crys, watch your step. You don't want to step on something and get hurt." He advised his sister before noticing that one of their group was missing, "Crys. You didn't happen to see where Maki went, did you?" The Terriermon asked as he looked over at his sister that seemed to be entranced by the building they were in.
"Huh?" Was about all she managed to say before turning around to see that Maki had disappeared. Before she could call out for the other Lopmon though, they heard said Lopmon say that she found the stairs. They headed towards where her voice came from to see the Lopmon testing the steps.
Pure had a look of worry as the Lopmon jumped on the stair, not wanting to see the Spirit Wielder get herself hurt. Crystal was less worried as she stepped onto the stair. "Well let's get going." She told Maki and Pure before beginning to climb the stairs. She couldn't wait to see what everything looked from the top of this watchtower.
Pure would then follow once Maki had started heading up the stairs. He would be a lot more hesitant as the stairs didn't seem safe, but with his sister already out of his sight, he knew he would have to climb them. Especially since Maki was with her and could cause Crystal to do something very stupid. So he began climbing the stairs, though at alot more slow and steady pace then his sister.
As Crystal reached the top of the watchtower, she paused as she noticed the view in front of her. "Whoh. This view is amazing." She exclaimed as she took the view in. With the awe of the view, it took her a second to remember why she came up her in the first place. "Three triangles. Three triangles. Where are those three triangles at?" She asked herself as she approached the edge and began looking down towards the ground for said triangles.
