Airship Movie Night [Valentine] [Corona/Coolmon/Rinji]
|

This was one of the reasons Bellamy loved having Colin as a partner. Not only had the boy agreed to the idea of letting him and Coronamon have a double date in the digital world, he even gave them a free night in the cabin of their airship mercenary Daedalus! The Impmon was understandably very delighted with this.
"Okay okay, Bellamy, yeesh" Colin chuckled as he was hugged tightly. Bellamy would then immediately make arrangements. First he'd call Coronamon on the Tamernet to ask if he was free to spend Valentine's with him and hang out with another digimon couple. Then... he'd have to find another digimon couple.
The only one he knew of was Owen and Hikaru, but Owen declined, appreciating the thought, but honestly wanted to spend it alone with his partner. So, Bellamy pretty much was reduced to asking if any other digimon couple wanted to double date on Daedalus. He didn't worry so much if they were strangers, just as long as they weren't evil.
Eventually he had a couple of hits of interest. One was someone named 'Coolmon', which sounded kinda familiar. And another one that was named 'Rinji'. That was interesting. Bellamy told them to wait for them in the Terminus City air station, where flying digimon could land and depart with ease.
"Yo, Big D" he said to Daedalus as he approached him.
"Please don't call me that" Daedalus responded, a little modestly, but appreciated the sentiment all the same. "So I understand you wish to host guests aboard my cabin today, yes, Bellamy?"
"Correctamundo" the Impmon responded, smiling. He was dressed in his usual citygoing outfit, a smart button-up maroon shirt, his red scarf and gloves. "One of 'em's Coronamon too. Everythin' gonna be okay?"
"Colin informed me, so yes, I'm glad to be of service" the Heliodramon answered. So then, all there was to do was to wait for everyone to show up. Bellamy rather looked forward to it. He thought it'd be a great idea if he and Coronamon met and befriended some other digimon. Other than Dio, Bellamy honestly couldn't say he had many other close friends. Well, he supposed there was Owen and Brad, but they mostly did their own things these days. And Lantis was more family than friend too. Maybe today they'd have a chance to make more?

So, today was a whole mix of shocking things. Despite Coolmon having to leave her new best friend behind for the day (it was a lot harder than one might have imagined), what had occurred after that was quite the turn of events. One, she got contacted by Bellamy. She was 95% sure she hadn't spoken or seen the Impmon in like, actual months.
Two, she got invited onto the nice airship for Valentines. With Rinji. Seemed like a pretty nice deal. And she was able to find Daedalus no problem. That was not the dilemma she faced. The dilemma here was how to enter and seem like a baller while doing so. Aya would've told her to be polite, but...Aya was not here.
So.
Coolmon's very literal first idea of how to proceed was to walk onto/into Daedalus and announce her presence with "BELLAMY JAMES, WHEN LAST YOU SAW ME, MY BOYFRIEND WAS MY RIGHT HAND. NOW, MY BOYFRIEND'S A CENTIPEDE! BASK IN MY RADIANCE!"
...Okay, maybe that was a bit too on the nose. Coolmon quickly cleared her throat and shouted again, but this time in a more polite manner. "...Okay seriously though I'm here! Hi!"

A double date! Rinji had never been on anything quite like one. So when he and Coolmon were invited to a movie night onboard an airship, he was pleasantly surprised. Rollercoasters and dinner dates seemed too frightening or too fancy, but a movie?
He could do that. And more importantly, he could relax with Coolmon.
After he got past the fact that it was a date. An actual date. Hopefully Coolmon wouldn't be able to see how much redder he was than usual, or that he was hiding something in his extra-dimensional pocket. It would also be interesting to meet Bellamy and Coronamon, if he remembered correctly. They were strangers, but they were there for the same reason, not to mention they were incredibly generous to offer them the opportunity, so what was the worry?
So, when he was stood on Terminus' sky wharf, just abreast to Coolmon, he didn't expect her to enter quite the way she did. In fact, he froze stiff when her voice echoed through the air.
And breathed a sigh in relief when he realised Coolmon was just being her usual self.
"Coolmon~" he said her name in amusement. Even if he didn't quite understand what she'd meant, it'd put a smile on his face anyway. That was a pretty epic way to make an entrance.
As he approached the Impmon, he decided to greet him at a more agreeable volume. "I guess you're Bellamy? I'm Rinji." A slight pause before he continued. "I'd like to say thank you for offering us the evening on your... airship...?" To be honest, he was still a little bit confused as to whether he could call it that, considering it was a living Digimon.

Life with Bellamy was never boring to Coronamon. Today's adventure seemed to be a double date that the Impmon had set up for the two of them. This was a treat for Coronamon, who so rarely met new people these days. Marshal had also managed to find a date for the evening elsewhere, so the two of them were apart for the first time in a while.
It seemed that Coronamon had arrived late. Bellamy was already greeting the other couple, two Digimon Coronamon didn't recognize. "Sorry I'm late, babe!" he said, running up the platform and planting a quick kiss on the cheek of his beloved. "You look great." He turned and gave a polite bow to the other two Digimon. "It's nice to meet you," he said, smiling politely. "I'm Coronamon, Bellamy's fiancé. I hope we all have an enjoyable evening." His voice was smooth and low, which belied his cute, small appearance.

When Bellamy first heard the voice that shouted out to him, he flinched a little and turned to see. His face turned to an expression of bewilderment as he saw Coolmon again for the first time in a while. Her statement made him blink for a little while in the audacity of it all.
"Well... um..." he began, struggling to find words. For some reason the next ones he found were "To be honest I thought you were a lefty, but..." then he blushed, realizing how inappropriate that was. "Ah, nevermind. Uh... Centipede, you mean...?"
Bellamy saw the digimon that Coolmon was referring to. Indeed he was a centipede, at least as far as he knew. Bellamy blinked between them, wondering how a match could have taken place, but, after a declaration like that, that Coolmon and the insect digimon were here as a couple as asked for, the furred Impmon gave a smile. "Well, glad to meet ya" he said. "Rinji, right? Well, if you're a friend of Coolmon, you're okay with me" he'd assure the bigger digimon.
Thankfully, not too long after, Coronamon also appeared. When he did, Bellamy ran up to him and almost pounced with a hug, the Impmon delighted to see him. "Oh Coronamon, glad you could make it!" he exclaimed, biting back his frustrations of waiting so long, giving him a kiss in return.
So then, the four of them were here, so Bellamy would clear his throat and say what was gonna happen. "So then... welcome aboard Daedalus, everyone!" he'd raise his hand to indicate them up the stairs to the cabin of the airship. "A luxury airship cruise, worthy of any romance, with full satellite access to the digital world Netflix... heh, yep, we got that name, one entity on Earth is different from that of the digital world. So then, hope you're all ready for a night to remember~"
With that, he'd invite them all aboard Daedalus. His cabin area was divided between a main entertainment area in the center, where all of them had visual access to a large theatre projector for entertainment, as well as a surround sound system. There was a galley to their behind left, where Bellamy's friends Roy the Veemon and Rex the Guilmon were on hand to serve whatever they wanted. And on each side of the main room were 3 private rooms for a total of 6, which would count for the sleeping cabins. Hopefully enough to make them all feel alright.
"Best sit down for the takeoff, guys" Bellamy would say as he heard Daedalus's engines power up, and made an example by sitting down on a circular couch in the middle of the main cabin. Daedalus took to the air, and thus their cruise would begin for the night.
"So then, while we get comfortable... anyone want a drink to start with?" the Impmon asked, sitting down next to Coronamon and putting an arm around his shoulders. "If not, why don't we introduce ourselves for the time being? I'm Bellamy, partner to Colin James, brother to an Elecmon named Luke, and this gorgeous boy here is my fiance" he grinned at Coronamon. "We've got two kids so far - Finn the Guilmon and Gaz the Gazimon... and I that's our family as it stands". He didn't mean to brag it, just he was so proud of all of them existing that it was hard to hold back. "So, uh, how about you guys?" he'd ask curiously.

This was truly a very happy reunion, to be sure! "It's so nice to see you again! How's everything going? And yeah, he's like, my bestest friendipede." What the fuck's a friendipede? Probably nothing, but Coolmon was actually ecstatic to be here, given she was waving at Bellamy and now Coronamon. "Hi, I'm Coolmon, nice to meet you!"
With the invitation aboard Daedalus, Coolmon would plop down next to the other couple, before she got a devious idea. "Hey, Rinji, c'mere, I wanna see if it's viable to use you as a pillow." It should be possible given the absolute size of the centipede. Anyways, she had an introduction to me.
"Well! My name's Coolmon. Always has been and always will be, I'm not married or anything, but my boyfriend's an absolutely electrifying centipede who may or may not be right here and who may or may not be the absolute best! Uh...Family-wise...I don't actually remember them too much. I think my mom's a Lunamon, my uncle's a Coronamon--probably related to Coronamon, dunno, and I have like...two siblings. I think. That's what I remember. Uh. No kids! I also hang around this Vander Tower place a lot. It's pretty neat!"

It was a bit odd to be suddenly be called a centipede (or friendipede, as Coolmon put it) by his fellow Digimon, but Rinji found himself smiling anyway. It had kind of become a half-compliment, half joke kind of thing.
As things seemed amiable, he gave Bellamy a respectful nod.
Coronamon wasn't long to make his own appearance. When he did, Rinji stole a long, analytical glance at the Digimon. He'd never seen a Coronamon before - and the similarities to Bellamy made for a somewhat satisfying pairing, as if they were made for each other.
He wasn't one to talk, of course. He was a centipede dating a rabbit, after all. And he couldn't be happier.
"Likewise," he replied to Coronamon after the little introduction. "I'm Rinji, and well, I'm with Coolmon for tonight." It was sort of obvious, but he felt it needed saying.
As the group proceeded inside the airship, Rinji couldn't help but note how... deluxe... everything was. There were even servants. "Woah..." He muttered. "I certainly wasn't expecting anything like this."
Deciding it was best to follow the Impmon's instructions, Rinji went to find a place where he could comfortably sprawl out without intruding on anyone's personal space. That is, until Coolmon quickly had a different idea.
"A pillow?" He was bewildered. "I'm not sure if I'll be all that comfortable, but alright."
He scrambled up next to Coolmon, something he would've done either way, but instead of stopping there, went to gently squeeze himself in the space behind her. His head and front half appeared on the other side, and well, he'd successfully become a pillow.
It was surprisingly cozy.
"That's a big family," he said to Bellamy. A brother, a partner, and two children. Most Digimon he knew were far lonelier than that.
He chuckled at Coolmon's description of him being electrifying as he listened to her own introduction.
And... looked like it was his turn.
He decided it was best to go with the usual introduction. "Me? Well... I'm Rinji, a Scolomon." What else?
Coolmon already said they were together. Everyone was expecting him to talk about his family.
"To be honest... I don't have one. It's just me and Coolmon. I've never even met another Scolomon," he admitted. It was kind of a sad fact, but his tone was neutral. "What about you, Coronamon?"

(OOC: I would like to profusely apologize for my lack of activity and attention to this thread. Life got in the way, as it often does. Thank you for your patience.)
Coronamon smiled as he snuggled up to Bellamy as the pair of couples settled in for their date. It had felt like ages since the last time he and Bellamy had been on a proper date, so he was excited to get started. Small talk was taking place, and Rinji turned his attention directly toward Coronamon, who got a bit flustered. Incidental conversation was not his strong suit.
"Well, I'm partnered to a Tamer named Marshal, and of course I'm engaged to Bellamy and we have our two children," he explained. "I'm still getting used to having such a large family like the James clan, but it has been fun, at the very least!"
Bellamy inquired about drinks for the evening, and that was quick to grab Coronamon's attention. "Oh, you know what I like to drink, babe," he said, smirking a bit. "Surprise me."
As the air cleared a bit in the cabin, Coronamon remembered the original plan for the evening. "Ah, right! What kind of movie should we watch? I haven't been keeping up on recent releases, so I'm afraid I can't offer any recommendations."

Bellamy listened to their introductions, an interested expression on his face. He was glad to see other digimon that liked each other as much as he liked his boyfriend, and wouldn't mind hanging out with them on adventures or even just socializing when he was with Colin and Luke.
"Vander Tower eh? That place near Rosewood?" the Impmon asked, interested. "Ohh, right, that's where the Knights of the Rose hang out..." he was then quite interested. "So you're with them, eh? If so, awesome. Always glad to hear of people doin' good on this world."
Bellamy wasn't sure Coronamon had heard of those things, so he turned to him to make sure. "You know about Rosewood, babe?" he asked, curiously, and would be happy to fill him in, unless Coolmon wanted to give the details.
He was also curious to hear that Coolmon had a mother, and an uncle who was also a Coronamon, but, it seemed she had only the one parent. At least, only one she could remember. Bellamy acknowledged this with a nod, knowing better than to pry in on digimon that had difficulties with their memories.
Following that, Daedalus had evened out the turbulence of flight and was on a cruise bearing, making it safe to walk around the cabin. That meant that the hosts for the evening were able to walk around and serve drinks - light alcoholic and non-alcoholic options both available.
"Thanks so much for helpin' us with this tonight, guys" Bellamy told the Veemon and Guilmon twins, Roy and Rex.
"No problem, we kinda need the money" the Veemon replied, chuckling. Bellamy grinned and took his cocktail. Roy offered Coronamon a glass, while Rex offered Rinji and Coolmon drinks.
Coronamon then said he wasn't sure on what movie to watch. Bellamy rested his head on his paw, glass in hand, swishing it around as he thought of what to watch.
"Well, there's always The Leomon King" he said. "Yeah, there's one instance of that old "Leomon Dies" meme... actually two, but at least one of them big cats wins and gets through it alive. Or we could go for the Cape route with Dark Knightmon Rises... or, heck, you guys got any ideas?"
He was open to any option honestly, just as long as it was entertaining.

"Haha, yep! I got the job after I beat the leader up a bit in a spar! ...Kind of sounds a bit sketchy when I put it like that, though." Coolmon noted. "Good to see you getting along with so many humans, though!" That always comes in handy for trips to that world, truth be told.
She then glanced to Rinji and nodded a bunch. "It's okay, I've never met another Coolmon." The thing here was that there was no Coolmon, just Cutemon. But as is, she hadn't seen many in the world either...
Anyways, onto movies. "Well, I for one believe we should go all out with the cape route and throw in the entire Dark Knightmon trilogy. It's fun for the entire group, -and- I get to explain the intricacies to Rinji! ...If he needs them. I'm up for anything, though!"

With introductions out of the way and everyone snuggling up to their respective partners, Rinji found himself much more at ease in the conversation.
"Rosewood is the town they've been building in Server Woods," he mentioned, the familiar word having caught his ear. "I helped out there a little until I started on Deep Lane with Amy." All in all, he thought it was a wonderful little idea and wished it'd been there when he left the Village of Beginnings. It was only bad luck that there happened to be two city building projects starting at the same time, and only one Rinji.
Quite literally, as far as he knew. He nodded seriously towards Coolmon. Cutemon existed, although none were quite like her, and he appreciated her attempt to commiserate with him.
Still, he couldn't help but snort at the way Coolmon worded her method of gaining employment. "Coolmon, that isn't sketchy. That's just cool. And way better than an interview." He briefly scanned everyone in the room. "Trust me," he said playfully.
When Rex offered him a drink, Rinji took a second to decide, then settled on what he assumed to be cider.
In terms of movies, Rinji couldn't be less fussed. "Coolmon's the movie expert," he admitted, smiling at her enthusiasm. "And if you want to explain the intricacies, I think I might need them. I don't normally watch movies."
