This was an interesting set of choices presented to Nereid. On one hand, it working alone would save her some effort in guiding it, but on the other hand, if she did guide it? Then it'd have a better chance of executing the task delegated to her properly, and correctly the first time.
In truth, it was pretty easy to see which decision she should go with. "I'll guide you--Ms. Usako said this'd be a bit complex, so I figure I should help make this go...well in a sense." The Syakomon glanced towards the Calcumon. "I hope it likes bunching glass together, then! I know I do."

Usako waved her off. "Roombot is programmed to enjoy working. I wouldn't want a robot worker who feels displeasure."
And, indeed, once Nereid said she'll guide Roombot, the robot used its bunny ears to grab the Syakomon and put her onto its back. "USER GUIDANCE AKNOWLEDGED. THIS UNIT HOPES USER NEREID IS READY FOR SOME CLEAN FUN. THIS UNIT SHALL CLEAN LIKE NO ONE EVER DID." It then vibrated, and began to move. "THIS UNIT REQUESTS USER NEREID TO GUIDE IT TO THE FIRST GLASS HEAPS SO WE CAN GET STARTED. THIS UNIT IS SO EXCITED." It even vibrated when saying that. What a weird robot!

"...But is it true enjoyment?" Nereid questioned, quietly, before she YELPED at the Roombot just grabbing her all of a sudden and placing her on it's back! "Hey, hey! Watch the shell, that's a priceless artifact you're handling!" She protested before she hmph'd and settled onto the back of the robot.
While Nereid did doubt the robot was actually excited for this sort of thing, she did gesture towards the pile of glass she had been working on before being told by Usako to activate the Roombot. "That one. You can tell it's the first one because it's already been swept up a bit--that was my fault. Please do your best." She said as she tried to guide it towards the pile, if it didn't start moving already.

"THIS UNIT ALWAYS DOES ITS BEST. USER NEREID DID HER BEST, TOO. ROOMBOT IS DELIGHTED." The robot opened a hatch and extended a vacuum hose, slowly and carefully sucking up the shards. Usako nodded at Nereid's question. "I gave Roombot the choice to say no, to choose his own destiny. He was excited to do this. I am a robot too, do you think I would enslave one of my own kind?" Seems that Usako was very clear on this. As soon as roombot had sucked up the shards, it began to rumble, and then spat a diamond dust at the aquarium. The dust rebuilt the broken glass as it spread. "LOOK, USER NEREID, THIS UNIT CAN MAKE BEAUTIFUL ART OUT OF SHARDS."

It always gave it's all in this sort of thing? Well, programming or not, Nereid couldn't quite fault that without feeling terrible about it. She looked at Usako upon the rabbit revealing that she was, in fact, also a robot.
"Aren't you also a Digimon...? Wouldn't that mean there's some bit of difference between you and Roombot? Um...Anyways, I don't think you would. You don't strike me as the kind of girl to subjugate others..." Nereid nodded her entire body, shell included at the Roombot. The display of the dust had initially alarmed Nereid.
Was it really supposed to do that? However, she quickly calmed down upon seeing the dust begin to rebuild the broken glass. "...Yes, it looks really pretty. Good job!" The Syakomon smiled!

Usako nodded. "Roombot, once you're done with work, you can go out and have some fun with Nereid." The robot twirled around. "THIS UNIT WOULD LOVE TO. GETTING TO KNOW USER NEREID SOUNDS A WONDERFUL WAY TO SPEND VARIOUS INCREMENTS OF ENTROPIC DECAY." Roombot certainly had an...odd way of speaking, but there was something enthusiastic about him. He immediately went for the next glass pile and sucked it up. "I do agree that there is a difference between pure robots and robot Digimon.", Usako replied to Nereid's earlier questions, "But I still feel enough of a kinship to not make them slaves. That said, I can never resist making them...quirky. It reminds me of earlier, happier times."

Wait, the robot could even go out too? Nereid looked extra-surprised at this revelation. Though, various increments of...What? "Entro-...I don't know what that means." Nereid murmured, before she turned to look at Usako from her perch atop of Roombot. It was true that he had a strange way of speaking, but his creator made him like that for a reason.
Earlier times...was that something she should ask about? Unfortunately, nobody with actual intelligence here apart from Usako herself was present to stop Nereid from taking this course of action. "Were those times when you were a kid, Miss Usako? Um...Could you tell me about them?"

Roombot began humming a very robotic tune, akin to a children's song, as it kept cleaning up the glass shards.
The question about her childhood seemed to hit a nerve, or rather cable, with Usako. The interface on her forehead went red and changed numbers rapidly. "My...childhood? Well, that was a long, long time ago...about 100 years, when I was but a small screw in the grand machine of the Digital World. I loved to read books, to collect bugs, just to gather more information... ...I'd always dreamt of working in a big sciency facility where all the information I wanted could be found, and this place seemed like the right place... ...but I was naive to think that I could ever find the perfect place. A few weeks after I moved in here everything was destroyed by an errant Digimon, just like..." She trailed off...then shook her head. "Keep on working, there is still much to be done." Roombot stopped working, though, turning to its creator. "THIS UNIT FEELS CONCERN FOR ITS CREATOR. IS ADMIT USAKO ALRIGHT?" "Yes, I am, just...keep going."

...Usako was a little older than she had been expecting. Still a fraction of Titania's age, from what Nereid knew, but also older than Mizu was...also as far as she knew. But what Usako told her seemed to humanize the rabbit in Nereid's eyes. "...I don't think any place is perfect. There's always going to be a flaw found someway or another, Miss Usako...And..."
This...wasn't the first time something like this had happened to the Calcumon? "...I'm sorry to hear that. All we can do now is...pick up the pieces and keep going with what we have." She said. Nereid may be young, and a bit of an idiot, but she knew this might be too much for Usako to just talk about. "Yes, we should keep going. If Usako wants to tell us about her troubles, she can do so of her own volition. I am a gracious princess, after all! Everyone can just choose to leave me be if so, and I'll be fine with that!"

Usako just sighed bitterly. "I've done nothing but picking up pieces wherever I go...this is nothing new..." She then bent over her computers, wanting to forget the memories. As for Roombot, it was very quiet as it kept working. It almost seemed -worried-. "USER NEREID. HOW DO YOU THINK THIS UNIT CAN HELP ADMIN USAKO FEEL BETTER? THIS UNIT THINKS SHE SHOULD NOT BE SAD LIKE THIS." It was really hard to tell with robots whether the concern was real or just programmed in, and its weird way of speaking made it harder to discern, but Roombot really seemed worried about its creator.

Today, Nereid learned that robots could worry. Today, Nereid could learn that robots could -really- worry. She didn't think it was programmed, though that could have very well been because she shared that same worry. The Syakomon kept quiet for a bit, but otherwise piped up eventually at Roombot's behest.
"...Miss Usako, I...don't know what you've been through, nor do I know what's happened to you in the past, but I think I'm not alone when I say this time's different. You have people around you that care enough to help with picking those pieces up..." The Syakomon sounded genuinely worried for the bunbot.
Worry, of course, was not an emotion that really suited Nereid, either.

Usako looked at both the cleanbot and the clam. She could tell they were both really worried about her. Roombot even twirled in response to what Nereid said. "USER NEREID IS CORRECT. WHATEVER IT IS THAT ADMIN USAKO HAS EXPERIENCED, THIS UNIT IS SURE THAT THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT. THIS UNIT KNOWS FROM THE DATA IT CAN ACCESS IN THE BIG DATABASE THAT THIS BASE HAS MANY POTENTIAL USER IN IT THAT CARE A LOT ABOUT ADMIN USAKO. PLEASE, THIS UNIT AND THIS USER WORRY ABOUT YOU." All this worry for her person was getting a bit much for the bunbot. There were actually tears coming from her eyes, which were black, as they were made from -oil-. "Y-you two, th-thank you, but I am ok, do not worry about me." She was not OK. But she was not ready to bear her past just yet.

Nereid had not been expecting Roombot to suddenly twirl in agreement, but it didn't lessen the impact that the words she spoke appeared to have upon Usako. Yet she couldn't do much else to comfort the poor bun outside of words. Hell, the Calcumon was flat out...shedding tears over this stuff.
The clam wanted to hug her, but she had no arms with which to do so. No legs. Just a bivalve body. That simply would not suffice now, especially for this endeavor. Nereid's shell began to glow as the Syakomon hopped down from Roombot, something immediately recognizable as the light of evolution. The sliding clam's frame expanded and elongated to a far more humanoid shape that wasn't her holosuit, but rather a water nymph.
A particularly tall one, at that. The nymph stepped towards Usako, before she knelt, and gave the Calcumon a quiet hug.
Did Nereid just digivolve to champion for the sole purpose of hugging one of her aunts?

The Digivolution of Nereid was a surprise, both to Usako and Roombot. The robot twirled again. "PHYSIOLOGY CHANGE DETECTED IN USER NEREID. UPDATING DATABASE..." With that, he fell silent. He was now contend with letting someone with arms to hug with deal with his Admin's sadness. And it did seem to have the intended effect. Usako stopped crying as she was hugged. Though this was mostly due to surprise over the Digivolution. "Miss...Miss Nereid, you..." She'd seen many Digivolutions in her time. Usually they happen to an emotional trigger...was her sadness that bad for the girl that it released this emotional trigger?

Yes, yes she did digivolve for the sole purpose of hugging the Calcumon. And it appeared that the sudden digivolution had caused a stir in both Usako and Roombot alike. The good thing to take away from this was that Usako was no longer crying. Nereid lightened up on her hug a bit, before staring down at Usako. "You seemed like you could use a hug. I didn't have any arms to hug you with. So I fixed that."
In truth, Nereid's concern had indeed been enough to induce a Digivolution. Yet she didn't seem to register what she just pulled out. What she just did. "Are...Are you feeling better yet? Mom didn't tell me a lot about hugs aside from they usually helped someone feel better about bad things."
