Usako was a tad flustered that the girl was so concerned that she digivolved. She barely knew this girl, yet she was already so invested in her. She looked aside. "I...I feel better now, thank you. I am sorry I worried you. You're doing a good job." She gave Nereid a weak smile, which made Roombot spin and beep. Still, he kept quiet, though. The one important right now was Usako, and that she felt better. "If...you want to help me some more, perhaps you and Roombot can go down to the Species Vault and see which specimen I scanned would fit well into the tanks." She then pressed a button, and a staircase lowered into the ground in the corner, revealing a hidden basement!

Nevermind the fact that Nereid was so concerned for the Calcumon that she was able to digivolve, the fact she did so in the first place was...pretty nuts considering the relative youth of the clam compared to almost everyone else in the Library. Of course, it came from a place of good intentions, and at least it wasn't during something like, say, a fight in the wilds or anything.
"Of course I'm doing a good job--I have the appropriate aid for the job. Aid that only you could've given me, Usako. Thank you." The Ranamon said as she finally released Usako from what might as well be a cushiony, fishy hell. Without appearing to miss a beat, Nereid turned to Roombot. "C'mon, let's go see what's down in the vault!" And...would proceed down the recently-opened staircase.
Would the robot follow? What would they find?

Usako looked after them, and sighed. Ah, this girl is something special, isn't she? Born of two women, digivolved super fast. Truly, a special little thing!
As Nereid descended the stairs, the tell-tale clacking of an object sliding down the stairs told her Roombot did indeed follow her. The speed of his descent made him bonk into the opposite wall, making a "clank" sound and an "OOOF! IMPACT DETECTED, BEEP BEEP!" from the bot. After the initial surprise he twirled, though, and eagerly followed Nereid.
The vault, as it turned out, was rows over rows of small pedestals. Pressing a button on the pedestal summoned forth a hologram of a specimen, and opened a small hatch with a data stick in it. There were a *lot* of pedestals, which contained all manners of species of fish, ranging from simple sardines to exotic and fantastic piscine things! The two had the pick of the lot here!

Nereid would have stayed to ensure that Roombot had a safe and comfy descent down the stairs. "Don't go too fast, you might bump into something!" She told the robot as she did this. Honestly, having a proper body with arms and legs outside of a holosuit made things far easier than they initially had been as a Syakomon.
She'd definitely need the robot's help to go through this litany of rows containing all manner of marine life. "...This is a lot of fish..." Nereid mused before she gave the rows a quick glance over. "Hey, Roombot, what's your favorite shark? Because I really think we should put some sharks up!"
...The Ranamon was very serious about this.

Again, Roombot twirled in place. "THIS UNIT'S DATABASE SAYS THE COLLECTION OF PELAGIC AND BETHNIC SALTWATER AND FRESHWATER SPECIES MEASURES ABOUT 1200 SPECIES, ABOUT A THIRD OF THE ORIGINAL SIZE PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT." It moved closer to Nereid, looking up at her, then scratching its top with one of its ears. "USER NEREID DESIRES THIS UNIT'S FAVOURITE SHARKS? THIS UNIT WILL HELP! SEARCH QUERY: SELACHII... SUB QUERY: FAVOURITED BY THIS UNIT... It spin, and beeped. Then, one by one, about 10 pedestals lit up, showing their holograms. Seems that Roombot had favourited a number of different sharks. Normal-looking sharks one would expect from earth, but also a few more unique ones, like one shark with manta-like wing fins, and a flattened ones covered in growths that resembled corals. "PRESENTING: THIS UNIT'S FAVOURITE MEMBERS OF THE SUPERORDER SELACHII WITHIN THE DIGITAL REALM. PLEASE CHOOSE AS YOU DESIRE, USER NEREID."

Nereid couldn't lie, watching Roombot twirl in place was one of the cutest things she had ever seen in her short life. The Ranamon clapped her hands a couple of times as she listened to the statements it had to give. "How can we get the other two thirds back?" She asked the robot as she pondered which of these pedestals to pick from.
She opted to pick out some of the more unique looking sharks. The flattened shark spoke to her in a way, as did the manta-like shark. "These two in particular..." And she then finalized that by picking a few normal-looking sharks to compliment them. What did Roombot think?

"TO RESTORE INTEGRITY OF DATABASE, DATA MUST BE RE-ADDED TO IT FROM NATURE. AFTER THE GRAND CATACLYSM THAT ADMIN USAKO STILL SUFFERS FROM A LOT OF THE DATABASE WAS EITHER DELETED COMPLETELY, OR IN FRAGMENTS. THE THIRD USER NEREID IS LOOKING UPON IS THE RESULT OF WEEKS OF PAINSTAKING DEFRAGMENTATION WORK BY ADMIN USAKO. THIS UNIT WISHES IT COULD HAVE AIDED, BUT THE ADMIN INSISTED ON DOING IT BY HERSELF." Its ears drooped a bit. Upon seeing the choices of specimen, its ears perked up again. "USER NEREID HAS CHOSEN WELL. THIS UNIT RANKS THE TAKEN CHOICE AS A 9 OUT OF 10 ON THE ROOMBOT ORIGINAL COOLNESS SCALE. LET US TAKE THE DRIVES AND INSTALL THE SPECIMEN IN THE TANKS." Roombot then dashed between the pedestals to grab the data sticks and returned them to Nereid!

So basically, the servers got hit really hard during the attack on the Library. This was why the selection was a lot more narrow and less expansive than it could've been. This also really highlighted some of the struggles, self-imposed or not that Usako had been put through, which...made Nereid feel for the Calcumon even more. "...Does she really have to be so stubborn?" The Ranamon muttered quietly, before she looked to Roombot.
...Did he seriously have his own coolness scale? The thought of that was silly enough to put a happy little smile on Nereid's face as she accepted the data sticks. "So, we just need to put these into the aquarium, right? Just plug them in somewhere? C'mon, let's go do that!"

The robot's ears drooped. "ADMIN USAKO-SENSEI HAS ONCE CONFIDED TO THIS UNIT THAT ADMIN USAKO LOST A PREVIOUS HOME DUE TO A SAVAGE DIGIMON ATTACK. ADMIN USAKO WAS HELPLESS THEN, WHICH IS WHY ADMIN USAKO IS ADAMANT TO DO EVERYTHING HERSELF IN THE LIBRARY. PLEASE DO NOT LET ADMIN USAKO KNOW THIS UNIT CONFIDED THIS INFORMATION TO USER NEREID, BUT THIS UNIT HAS COME TO THE LOGICAL CONCLUSION THAT SILENCE DOES MORE DAMAGE THAN JUST BREAKING SILENCE." Its ears perked up again at the notion of installing the drives. "AFFIRMATIVE. THIS UNIT IS EXCITED TO SEE THE SPECIES." Roombot then went to the stairs, and waited for Nereid to help it up the stairs!

Nereid stopped dead in her tracks the moment Roombot began to speak. The stubborn tendencies of Usako that she had pressed about a little earlier had finally been extrapolated upon, and the reason why was as sad as Nereid had anticipated it to be, really. "You're right. Bottling up these things doesn't do any good in the long run. At least that's what mom told me." Which one, though? Nonetheless, Nereid waited a few seconds for Roombot to get up the stairs...
Before she promptly realized it needed her aid. "So sorry!" She stated as she rushed down to help the robot up. "You'll guide me through installing this stuff, right?" The Ranamon stated as she ushered the robot up the steps.

Roombot gave off some beeps as he was carried up the stairs. Clearly, he was happy.
Back up the stairs, Usako was back behind her many computer screens, likely seeking to restore more of the Database integrity. Roombot quickly approached one of the repaired, still empty tanks. He twirled as he reached the console. "USER NEREID, READY YOURSELF FOR A MARVEL OF DIGITAL SCIENCE, AS THE USAKO-SENSEI DIGITAL LIFEFORM TANKS WILL BRING LIFE TO RAW DATA." With that, he turned the tank on. Water filled up the tank, swirling bands of Digimoji formed into all sorts of decorative seaweed strands and corals. Roombot then put the data stick into the console. A small image of the chosen species, in this case the manta shark, appeared on screen, and soon the bands of Digimoji began coalescing into a copy of the species shown, which began swimming and reacting like a living being. Roombot then turned back to Nereid, his ears perked up in pride.

Nereid did not fight back any sort of urge to pat the Roombot as she carried him up in the slightest. See, any opportunity to make use of her newfound appendages was fine by her. Once they had ascended the steps, Nereid ran over to the tank that Roombot went towards. "I've been readied for a bit, don't disappoint me now, buddy!" The Ranamon stated, evidently anticipating something quite grand for what Roombot had been about to do.
As simple as turning the tank on had been, Nereid found it fascinating to watch the bands of Digimoji all form into decoration within. This was what the ocean was like, was it not? This was where she'd feel most at home. And when the manta shark came on screen? The Ranamon gave Roombot her applause. "We did it!"
...So, what now?

Indeed, they had done it! This room, which had still been a mess this morning, now looked much more like it used to, with the tanks active again! Only the lack of ceiling tiles and the occasional exposed wall pipe reminded a casual observer that something bad had happened here before!
What now? A good question. Roombot was delighted with their work, Usako was once again buried in work behind her laptops! The library was their oyster, unless Nereid really wanted to try and get Usako to stop drowning herself in all this work! After all, with the help of just two people she had already sped up the recovery of this room! And Roombot, too, could prove more useful in rebuilding than even Usako anticipated!

They were now far closer to having this be truly repaired than they were at the beginning, though the question of what now still lingered in the back of Nereid's head. The Ranamon tapped her chin a bit in thought, before noting Usako being buried behind her laptops. Again. "...Miss Usako, why are you throwing yourself at your work so eagerly on Valentines Day of all things? Isn't today the best time to go relax? Maybe treat yourself to something?"
...Nereid might as well have been asking the impossible from the bunbot, all things considered. Would she even pay Nereid heed or did the call of the laptops, and library repairs prove to be stronger?

Usako's head emerged from behind her work. "Is it February already? I couldn't tell. Regardless, as much as I appreciate your care for me, I am way too busy to relax. But you can go and have fun. And take Roombot with you. He did good work today, he deserves the break." She then returned to her work, entirely unaware of the double standard she just set. Roombot twirled again. "RUNNING SIMILE FINDER VER. 1.4.39... ...SEARCHING... ...METAPHOR FOUND. THIS UNIT GUESSES TALKING ADMIN USAKO INTO TAKING A BREAK IS LIKE TALKING A RIVER TO FLOW UPSTREAM." He had a Simile finder? What for?...doesn't matter, they had to get Usako out of here somehow!
