“Laws are just an interpretation of one’s values imposed on a general public… Unless it is the laws of gravity! Or good taste… whichever one generally you care about first." Tamamizu added on to Naoko's comment on Otohime's... interesting persona she had going on. Frankly, she found the whole deal hilarious... something she'd probably had done were she a more self-righteous individual
Pfft. Yeah right.
Frankly, Nereid might have not been intending any harm in their words, but there was something about the disguised clam that irked Tamamizu... something so pure and innocent that bugged her. Bizarre to say, but that naive innocence made her sneer slightly. “Oh she is just precious, isn’t she? A real peach." she ended up saying towards Titania, who as it turned out was the mother of this... brat. Still, no need to get upset... no need to spoil the mood after all. "Oh darling, the lack of tact is my style. It is both a blessing and a curse, for all is in the eye of the beholder."
And frankly, when it came to what your average human beheld... she suppose ignorance was bliss. Humanity slept on a beautiful world they did not even know existed... at least most of them. Soon enough, a well-dressed woman interrupted their little rendevouz... pointing out her nature as a Digimon. Interesting. Tamamizu returned the phrase with little more but a smirk as she chuckled to herself. “Oh no, of course it is not wise… but that would giving your average individual a bit more credit than they deserve, no? Besides, I like to live on the razor’s edge, dear… though I think miss kabuto here may be more of a loose cannon than I.” she instead refuted, giving the newcomer an ominous toothy grin... no fear on the fox's face. “So care I inquire why you care? Please, enlighten me… if you can.”
Little scared the fox these days... For someone as ancient as her, no human scared her.
Well, that wasn't completely true...

Maria acknowledged the point that Naoko made. "Yes, that's true, and I think all of us would appreciate if that didn't change" she answered.
Following that, the individual that claimed to be the Gran Kuwaga Mask denied knowing what digimon were, despite digimon not being mentioned so far in this conversation from Maria's hearing. However, she wasn't willing to turn this into a battlezone over something like that.
But the DATS Agent's attention was most drawn to the obvious digimon, who even managed to slightly unnerve her in how prepared she was to talk to someone like her. Thankfully some encouragement from her partners in her pockets was enough to convince her that a public confrontation wasn't the right way to go about this.
Then what would be the right way to do so? A discreet conversation? How would that be possible in a place like this? Maria thought for a moment, then realized a simple corner booth in a fast food restaurant would probably suffice. Yeah, that should do. And furthermore, that should reduce suspicion at such a venue, minimum disruption, minimum suspicion.
Last of all, Maria turned her attention to the fox digimon. Maria set aside her patronizing tone for the time being. Well, at least all individuals here seemed to be capable of behaving within reason in Tokyo society. And her orders were to give them warnings in the most discreet way possible. Well, what better way than to do so over food?
Yes, that was likely the way of things. Food served by others, and even better still, Maria could bring out her partners in a peaceful setting, since she knew they were probably hungry. So, Maria planned her next moves for a moment, then answered the fox-like digimon.
"I care for reasons that I should speak only with discretion" she answered. "If you'd like to speak with confidentiality, let's speak over some bowls of ramen shall we?" she nodded toward what seemed to be the least crowded food bar in the area. "I can handle the bill if you're short" she offered. While in effect she'd be spending money on those that her organization opposed, well, a bit of manners to obtain information in a peaceful setting would hopefully be worth it, right?

"Yes, you're right, and there's...more dignified ways to stop it at least..." Naoko mumbled. Was Otohime really set on this? The answer that the girl could come up with was a solid probably. She didn't have much to say about Kuwaga Mask denying any knowledge of Digimon...
Despite the fact there were three right here. Titania let out a sigh. "She is. A little naive, but she's a chip off the old block. Except I'm...not that old." Nereid then decided to keep badgering Tamamizu with questions! "How's it both a blessing and a curse? C'mon, tell me!"
The clam was pretty insistent on making friends with furries today, huh? All three's attention was drawn pretty quickly by Agent Maria's words, and...Well. Naoko and Titania had alarm bells sounding off. Nereid, though? "That would be great, miss! My name's Reid, what's yours? I can help you with the bill--Mom gave me an allowance!"
"That's...true, I did do that..." The disguised fairy started to mumble to herself as well. "...My friends aside, where to?" Naoko inquired of the agent, before looking to Kuwaga Mask and Tamamizu. What would they do here...? Her attention was focused a tad more on the fox rather than Otohime, but still, she was trying to keep an eye on both.
Oh, she also moved to stand next to the spirit wielder. "...Ryuko, I think we might be in trouble." She whispered.

Behind her visor, Otohime blinked. Shit, what does she do? Was this lady a cop? Something told her something was off! She tapped her chin. Within the BlackFairymon, Otohime panicked a bit. "Oh fuck, Jiro, what do I do? What if this is a trap??" The Spirit was worried, himself, but he knew that panicking would be the wrong thing to do. "O-o-o-ok, Ryuko-san, calm down! If we run now, she might get mad, and that will make things worse! J-j-j-ust go along for now!" Otohime was not ok with this, but if Jiro thought it was right... The BlackFairymon took a deep breath. "I would like to have lunch with you, citizen! But then I must return to keeping justice! But please, allow my companions to come along, they are probably hungry too!" For all the intimidating looks, this Digimon was clearly a dork.

Tamamizu didn't like Nereid... She just didn't. It was something about their innocent nature that ticked her off, and she wasn't hiding it either. "When you've been around as long as I have and remember it all... You tend to grow a tad mad." she solemnly spoke, huffing irritably.
She had committed atrocity after atrocity, and to say that deep down there was a soul that wished to escape it all... but that was the old her. Weak and spineless.
The new woman was... intriguing. In a way, it was wise for them to wish to keep their secrets hush hush for right now... what was just telling them what they wanted to hear without at least leading them with a little bait?
The vixen stared at the woman as if she had bats flying out of her hair, quizzically tilting her head in a manner that would have been impossible for a human. The mention of ramen was... enticing to the fox, in ways that perhaps only made sense to her. "Throw in some fried tofu and you have a deal sister." the fox ended up speaking.
She never did get over that little addiction she had as Viximon.

Agent Maria was a little taken aback by the holosuited digimon's enthusiasm. But she quickly remembered her manners. It was a little hectic here at the moment after all, and she thought it would be for the best if she kept all this nice, easy and polite. "Hello, Reid. My name is Agent Maria of DATS" came the response. "Don't worry, I'm not here to arrest any of you, I only wish to talk to you".
At least that was her orders so far as she interpreted them. It seemed her appearance had startled a few of them, and she supposed them running away would mean that her objective to warn them not to be so blatant in public from now on would not be able to be achieved.
So then, it seemed that they agreed to a talk over some ramen. And ramen bars were aplenty in this part of town. Agent Maria simply looked around for the most suitable one. Not too crowded, that would be too distracting. But not too empty though, that would be too suspicious. In the end she pointed toward a middling one. "That looks fairly decent there" she said, pointing to a ramen bar half a block away. As she neared, her hunch proved to be right. There was a large group of anime fans already present in there, but they only took up one half of the establishment. The other half was relatively empty, probably because of how distracting the group was. They were dressed as various anime characters, including magical girls, shonen protags, even anthro animal characters. Their current party wouldn't stand out much compared to that crowd.
Agent Maria agreed to the added condition of fried tofu and proceeded toward it, if the others agreed. Hopefully they would pick a discreet table.
"Let's sit here!" a familiar voice suddenly said. Maria turned to see with horror that Sistermon Noir had already realized herself from the digivice, standing next to a large berth at the quiet corner of the bar. Maria was about to chide her for leaving the V-Pet without permission, but, thought against it. She stood out no more than any other in this bar, and at least for the moment she wasn't baring her cross-guns. And Blanc was standing there too a few moments later, looking a little awkward.
"Well, here we are then... what would you guys like to order?" Maria asked them. The young assistant at the bar seemed eager to be of service, given that they seemed to be a party of eight.

"It's very nice to meet you, miss Maria!" Nereid chimed!
"Yeah, treat it as a lunch shift, hm?" Naoko allowed herself a light snicker at her own joke. Well, that was...a joke to her at least. Maybe the others might find some humor in this? Meanwhile, as Titania was trying to subtly nudge at the Syakomon to leave the fox alone?
She had to keep listening. "...You and mom sound the same." Nereid noted. "I'm sorry to hear that..." The clam could at least tell when she was being a bother. Or thought she was. Truly, this was the greatest weakness of the shipper. Titania and Naoko followed the group (and Nereid) to a table, and the latter tried picking the more discrete option they had available. "Ramen, for one." Naoko nodded, before Titania added onto that with... "...I'd like tofu, please."
Nereid, meanwhile, decided to speak to the two newcomers. "Oh, where did you come from? Wanna eat some ramen with us?"

Otohime stuck out like a sore thumb among all the others at the cafe. She was the tallest, with those horns adding even more height. She sat on her chair, awkward and stiff, trying not to seem suspicious. She did yipp in just her own voice when the Sistermon appeared, but she quickly tried to play it cool. "What i would like to order? Oh, just some melonpan, citizen!" She wiped some sweat off her brow. The nervousness, not to mention the stress of staying digivolved, was making her winded. "So what is it you want to talk about, citizen?"

There was something oddly energizing about dealing with this mystery woman... It didn't take a fool for one to know that this wasn't your average run-of-the-mill human; something that ultimately could prove to be dangerous for someone without a lack of proper sense. But oh, that was what was so fun about this! She was entranced by the lead this woman had thrown out... it would have been a shame not to inquire further!
The Renamon X slinked close behind the small party, though her attention was drawn by the sudden appearance of a Sistermon Noir that had materialized nearby when no one else was looking... Clearly a partner Digimon of the woman, though to Tamamizu this was just another head to talk to. She loved talking to heads after all. "Oh, a friend of the miss? Charming, really." the fox spoke with a mischievous air as she palmed her hands as the rest of the girls began to take their orders. "I'll take some dumplings. Side of fried tofu if you could?"
Tamamizu was being very patient here... It was honestly a bit of a hassle, and frankly she didn't trust half of these folks. They all exhumed an air of "goody-two-shoes" like that damnable Inari, but they were at the very least amusing to her. She instead stayed silent, seemingly eagerly listening to the conversations that would soon unfold.

"Hel- I mean- Heck yeah!" Noir declared at the invitation to have a meal of ramen with others. That was the reason why she had burst out of the digivice after all. Sure, she knew Maria didn't like that, but, she felt the benefits in the long run would be worth it. And she was glad that Blanc backed her up by following her.
Agent Maria took note of the orders, then reluctantly asked her partners for their choices. "I'd like Miso ramen please" said Blanc.
"Spicy spare ribs ramen for me please!" Noir added. Agent Maria gave a smile at that, just as expected. So with the orders made, she briefly went to the counter, ordered and paid for everything, then returned to the table. A hefty bill indeed, but, the DATS agent having so many tamers and digimon in one place in a peaceful setting, perhaps there could be much information to be shared and gained here?
With the orders made, the kitchen behind the counter came to life. The owner seemed delighted at the sudden arrival of the party and that they had made such a big order, so he for one didn't care that some of them were weird cosplayers.
"Well then. Now that we're here and waiting, I should probably get down to business..." Agent Maria said, sitting down between her partners. The Sistermon twins seemed amicable enough, especially when they were permitted to be out to have food in a public restaurant. But there was still a bit of anxiety present in her voice, as though she was worried about the news she had to impart here. "I should let you know that the policy of the Japanese government in regards to digimon has changed. Today, DATS will not pursue charges against any of you, but, I fear that you need to know that in the coming times, it would not be wise for digimon to be present here on Earth."
Agent Maria was fully aware that this would probably be something of a harsh statement to make. But, she hoped that in the current setting, nobody would make an extreme move. After all, they were all seated down civilly, awaiting some tasty food. Hopefully they could discuss this peacefully.

Melonpan? Yeah. Definitely Otohime. Naoko shouldn't call too much attention to that, especially in the setting they were all at at this moment. Nereid, meanwhile, was quite possibly even more elated now than ever before with how she had singlehandedly managed to recruit more people for dining! And probably jacked the tab up.
With that, it was time to quite plainly get down to business.
To put things simply, the three took their seats once the orders were successfully placed, Naoko and Titania staring dead-on at Maria as she gave her explanation. This was...news, to say the least. "...If I may ask." Naoko began, raising a hand. "Was...there even a policy on Digimon in the first place? I wasn't aware of such a thing..."
...That Titania and Nereid had fallen as silent as the dead of night was also quite notable.

Otohime listened along to what the agent had to say. When the agent reached the part about the law being changed, she blinked behind her visor. She did not move for a few seconds, then picked up a cup of tea, took a sip, only to then spit it out again as a spit-take. Then, she coughed. And stood up, slamming her hands on the table, which wobbled dangerously. "The laws have...changed? What, is it now illegal for Digimon to walk the streets? You're gonna imprison Digimon just for -existing-? That's bullshit!" That was no longer the strange, interpolated voice that the Fairimon had been speaking with before. This was clearly Otohime's voice. And she sounded upset! The very thought seemed to upset her!

(OOC: Alright. To continue this thread, I'm going to have to skip Tamanizu.)
Agent Maria noted the tension suddenly descended upon the table as she said what was going on here. It was to be expected, she had no other ways of dancing around the issue, but, perhaps she could have worded it better?
"Please, relax, I'm not here to arrest or detain anybody here tonight. In fact I brought you all meals, I wouldn't have done so if my intent was malevolent" she said. Meals, as it should be noted, cooked and prepared by innocent strangers.
Noir and Blanc maintained neutral expressions as they sat either side of Maria, but Noir maintained a look upon the "Fairimon" while Blanc watched Titania and Nereid.
"Let me explain the situation" Maria continued in a calm voice. "In case you're not aware, the composition of the Japanese Government has changed in the elections last year. To continue its majority, the governing party has formed a coalition with a party whose platform is law and order, and their leader represents a district within Shibuya. Now, so far, the government has maintained a sort of "don't ask, don't tell" policy with digimon appearances within Tokyo, centred in Shibuya. However, with this new agreement, a condition for the new coalition was the revival of DATS, with the overall aim to encourage digimon to return to their own world."
She paused as the server arrived at their table with the servings of ramen. While she waited for the servings to cool, she would continue.
"Incidents have occurred that have brought us to this situation. Children and young adults going missing, presumed lost or worse in the digital world. Dozens of digimon battles in highly populated areas. And then, of course, the Scramble Crossing incident on the night of New Year's. I hope you all understand where I'm coming from here."

First off. A taciturn "Calm down." was delivered from Naoko to Otohime. Even if they both sucked at talking to people, it was clear Naoko had to remain level-headed in all of this. Especially since Titania and Nereid were dead silent. Well, almost. The latter was muttering something along the lines of "But I just started coming here..."
The disguised Syakomon had honestly sounded a little hurt. Titania meanwhile didn't have much of a grasp on human world politics, especially those of Japan. So, this was all new to her. Naoko on the other hand had a vague understanding of what had occurred. "So, it's a gradual wave of 'get off our planet.'" She began. "I can sort of see where you're coming from, but at the same time it's incredibly disruptive to the Digimon that've managed to...actually acclimate towards living here. I don't...know if there's any way this can end amicably for both sides of this equation..."
Titania then finally spoke up. "So...This is just a warning, then? Or is there anything else?"

"So just because some eggs in the basket are rotten yer throwin' out the whole fuckin' basket? How dumb is that???" BlackFairymon's body relaxed as a different voice spoke. "P-p-p-please listen to Nao, c-c-calm down!" She then tensed up again. "Hell no, this is some serious bullshit!" But, to her credit, the Digimon did sit down, but was now crossing her arms. "This is absolute horsseshite and you know it!" As her voice returned to the sonorous fusion, she pointed a finger at the Agent. "I see it in your face! You hate it! Yet you just sit here and let those fuckers in Kokkai-gijidō tell you what to do! Are you just gonna walk all over the Digimon that mean no harm because some bastard kicked a puppy or something??"
