Kitt gleamed in curiously, almost like a little kid as Bezil started to list off the humans he'd met one by one. Some of the names that were said he'd never even heard of. The reason he asked was because he'd never seen a human before, only just heard of them through his travels. If anything due to Bezil's experience, they seemed to be aright. But then again, there was always the chance of them being bad, so he didn't quite agreed with him just yet. He'll have to formulate his own opinion when he meets one.
When the Gumdramon asked him if he had met anyone interesting, Kitt slighty nodded. "Yeah, although the Digimon I met weren't exactly...friendly like you are." He paused, breathing out slowly, lowering his head and looking at the flower that was right next to his foot. What he was about to say was something of a sensitive topic to him. "Where I'm from, Spadamon's like myself have no record of being in places like the Northern Prominence due to the harsh, cold conditions. Therefore when I first digivolved, I was openly ostracized by everyone around me because I looked different. Which then... believe in their ignorance; that I was a freak."
He turned away at Bezil, not wanting to look him in the eyes. This was the first time in a while he was talking about his past, so it's only natural that he would feel uncomfortable talking about it, especially to someone that he'd only just met a little while ago.
"But one night, I met someone in the Empyrean Skies when I was looting, trying to find any scarps of gold to sell--someone's who's been close to my heart ever since. A Gigimon named Eris. She was the first person I ever met that didn't judge me for my appearance. Then I met a whole ton of other Digimon: Logane, Eris's unlce. Ophelia and Roy, two other Spadamon. Dio and Gio, and Impmon and a Black Guilmon. I can't quite put it into words, but knowing that you have people that cares about you felt...really good, y'know?
This was the one of the few instances that he was talking a whole lot. He turned to Bezil, giving a faint smile while scratching his head. "Oh sorry, I guess I got lost in my own heart that I forgot I was talking too much."

Bezil immediately came to an understanding when Kitt mentioned he hadn't met many others that were good before. He supposed that was why he seemed a little shy and cautious when they first met. Well, that gave him all the more determination to be good and decent around him to prove that there was good things about the world.
The Gumdramon looked with sympathy as Kitt said that in his colony in the North, he was ostracized for being a freak. "That's outrageous, how dare they!" Bezil snapped suddenly at the injustice. He quickly put a stopper on this anger though, he didn't want to make Kitt afraid of saying more. "W-what I meant was, that's horrible, I'm so sorry to hear that" he attempted to correct himself.
Then Kitt went on to say the others he had met. And he seemed to have a good experience with them. "Well, that's good to hear. I haven't been up to Luminas though so I don't think I know them".
That feeling of belonging? "Yeah... I know that well" Bezil admitted. Too well in fact, hence him going off on his own. He had three wonderful years of growing up with his father, living with his family. It was a wonderful feeling, but, sometimes one just had to get out there. However, Bezil was always reassured he'd have a place to go back to. Kitt didn't have that, being ostracized by the digimon that should have been a proper family. So Bezil hoped he'd find something like that one day.
Kitt apologized for going off in his thoughts like that. The Gumdramon grinned in return. "Heh, it's fine, mate, I don't mind" he said, reassuringly. Partly because he was eager to begin an adventure, and partly because he wanted a distraction from the feeling of wanting to smack those that hurt Kitt with his tail hammer, he thought he might raise their original reason for heading this way.
"So then... about how far further is this stream do you reckon?" he asked. "Sorry if it seems like I'm hurrying you, just, best take a look first to see how we can cross it, perhaps?"

Kitt shook his head happily in response when Bezil said he didn't mind. In truth, he was the second 'Mon that he told about his upbringing; the first one was Eris of course on the night they first met. It was always a hard topic to talk about since the Spadamon would get too emotional and eventually croak up, so he kept it to himself. What surprised him was how Bezil reacted to it. Never before had he seen another Digimon besides Eris and Ophelia reacted so defensively for him, and they only just met. But still, that meant that he cared for Kitt as a friend, and that was enough for him.
Bezil didn't minded him going on a tangent for a little bit. The Spadamon's smile widen a bit. "T-Thank you" he said, bowing his head down to him. It wasn't necessary, but he's done it so much it became a force a habit for him.
When he asked how much further would it be until they reached the stream- the first obstacle, Kitt took out the map to look at it again, trying to see how close they were. "Hmmmm...We've been going in the right direction for a little while, so I'd say were just about there."
As he said that, the sound of rushing water was heard through some dense bushes. Cutting through it, the two then saw that the river was the calm, relaxing body of water they were expecting. Instead, the water stream was going at the speed of a Trailmon, way too dangerous for the two of them to swim through.
"I guess the river had a flood not too long ago." Kitt said to Bezil, folding his arms. He kneel down to put his hand in the stream to just see how fast it was. Sure enough, the velocity of the water immediately forced his hand to go to where the water was flowing to. "Whoa! It almost took me with it."
This was pickle; and looking at the gap from where they were at and the other side, they would either have to walk down until the gap was small enough for then to safely cross, or find something long and sturdy to get across. "You got any ideas on how we can cross, Bezil?"

As Bezil took a few moments to calm down, he realized that he and Kitt probably had completely different backgrounds in growing up. Bezil was raised by his parents, both of which loved him dearly and would support him however they could. From what he had mentioned, Kitt didn't seem to have any of that. For this, Bezil sympathized with him, and hoped that even though they had just met, the Gumdramon could be a good friend for him.
As they continued on their way, it wasn't long before they came across the stream. Well, they could hear it long before they could see it, and when they did...
"Whoa..." Bezil exclaimed, astonished at the sheer speed of the water ahead of them. This was a dangerous waterway of course. Any raft would be swept miles downstream, and if they dared to swim across, they'd more likely than not be dashed against rocks or drowned in the undercurrent. Kitt was almost swept away just by touching it.
The Spadamon then asked Bezil what he thought they should do here. "Well, I reckon the key is to get across without touching it. So there's two ways I can think of. First, we can cut down one of these trees and make a bridge across..." he pointed up at the tall trees around them in the forest. "And the second would be to fly across. I might be able to fly, but... I'm not sure if I'd be strong enough to carry you too, so, the tree option might be safest."
How they would cut down a tree was a problem though. The only ones tall enough that would reach the other bank were massive wooden giants. For once, Bezil wished that his tail was an axe rather than a hammer, it would've been so much simpler then. But ways of cutting things? He'd have to pause on that.
"Do you have any ways of cutting down a tree quickly, Kitt?" Bezil asked his traveling companion.

Bezil answered Kitt's question, nodding in approval that the best and safest option was to use one of the trees and use it as a makeshift bridge.that Such an orthodox idea...why didn't he think of that? Looking at the distance between them and the way across, a tree was the only tallest thing in the for the two of them to use.
The Gumdramon then asked him if he had something to cut down one of the trees. "Of course, " he said brightly. "I actually have two ways to cut one of these things down." He reached into his utility belt and took out what appeared to be a hilt with a circular disk around it, white and neon blue in color. With the push of a button, two curved blades materialized out of data from both sides of the hilt. It was a double-bladed engine sword he calls, Blue Queen, which had an ornately etched base, a combustion engine, and two exhaust pipes running along the edge of both blades.
"Best want to stand back, because this..." he twisted the hilt of his weapon a few times, the engine roared to life with as he did. Blue flames started to purr out the two exhaust pipes as it spread to the base of both blades. "...might get a bit messy."
Looking around, Kitt spotted a tree near the riverbed that was just the right size as a way across. Not too tall, and not too short. He then took a stance, not taking his eyes off of it, the only ambient noises being the roaring stream and the humming of the Blue Queen's engine.
"Bluuue Streak!" He launched himself at the tree, spinning to make the blue flame's intensify even more, and sliced the tree clean from the base. The tree slowly started to fall, making a crashing noise as it fill the gap to the other side.
"Ta-da!" Kitt beamed, bowing down. As he did, he spotted that the stump had a few blue flame embers. He quickly rushed and stomped on the embers to put them out. He didn't want to be the cause of a forest fire as the beauty of this place deserved to be untouched by disaster. After it out was, he turned to Bezil. "One obstacle down, two to go."
Kitt revved Blue Queen. One fuel cell full.
Blue Streak [Exceed Only] :Unleashes a full spin equivalent to the number of fuel he had revved up while still pushing forward. Can be use if Exceed is activated. Cooldown: 1 post if one spin, 2 posts if two spins, 3 post if three spins. One fuel cell depleted.

Bezil was immediately intrigued when Kitt said that he had two ways to cut one of these massive trees down. Not that he doubted him of course, but he was interested to see how in the world he would managed to do such a thing.
Kitt then showed the means to how he would do it, revealing a fascinating device with two blades and an engine. Bezil gasped as it materialized. "Whoa, where did you get that from?" he asked, eagerly.
Bezil then stood back as instructed, leaving Kitt a wide access to the tree he seemed to be aiming at. Then, Kitt activated his device. Bezil gasped in shock at how intense it was. So much so that Kitt managed to slice straight through the giant tree, so accurately that it fell at just the right angle that it landed on the other side of the stream, forming the perfect bridge, at least for now.
After Kitt briefly put out the embers that remained, the Gumdramon grinned and rushed up to the bridge he had made. "Heh, yep, you're right there!" he began to attempt to make his way across the bridge, attempting to do so on his legs, but, a small movement of the bridge made him fall down on all fours. He looked back with a small blush at Kitt.
"Um... I might stay on all fours when crossing this... don't wanna lose my balance" he said a little awkwardly. However, he managed to continue forth at a reasonable speed, walking on all fours, using his hammer tail to keep balance. Eventually, he made it to the other side, rolling off the fallen tree so his feet landed on solid ground on the opposite riverbank. Bezil eagerly waited for Kitt, hopeful they had got through this obstacle together.

After putting out the small blue embers, Kitt would watch as Bezil started to walk across the makeshift tree-bridge. He wanted to go first to check the sturdiness of the bridge. Even though it was dense enough the support their weight, it'd never hurt to be sure. But the Gumdramon was quicker than him, leaving him to be the one to test it out first.
Seeing Bezil fall down on all fours after a slight turbulence caused by the bridge made Kitt tense up a bit. That was a close call. If he had lost balance, he would have been swept by the raging waters below. "Yeah, I think it's best...almost scared me for a second there." he responded with concern.
After Bezil reached across the other side, it was time for the Spadamon to clear the gap. Taking notes from the Gumdramon, Kitt decided to get on all fours to properly secure himself so he wouldn't fall over. The last thing he wanted was to get wet. He kept his balance surprisingly. Well, he was a feline Digimon after all, so it was only natural that he could. Reaching close to the end, he got on both of his feet and jump right next to Bezil.
"That was easy." he said, looking at the ranging currents. Remembering that Bezil was interested in his Blue Queen, took it out again, fully free to hold it if he wants. "This thing? I've had it for as long as I can remember. I don't use it a lot for combat since I don't like fighting, so I tend to use every now and then when situations call for precision."

After they were both safe and sound on the other side of the stream, Bezil paid attention to Kitt's interesting weapon. He said he didn't like fighting much, so he rarely used it. The Gumdramon understood this philosophy.
"Ahh, okay. That's pretty clever. My dad told me that it's always good to hold something in reserve for when things get truly difficult." he stated.
Well then, that was one obstacle down, and from what Kitt had said earlier, two remained. Bezil took a moment to recover from that tricky task of crossing the stream, then tried to remember what Kitt said was next in store.
"You said the next obstacle is a maze or a labyrinth, right?" Bezil asked. He was eager to tell the Spadamon his strategy for getting through that. "The key to getting through a maze is to mark the places where you've already been, and I think I know a method for that... excuse me for a moment."
Bezil then proceeded to gather a large amount of pebbles from the riverbank, then smashed them all with his tail until they were nothing but small sharp fragments of gravel. Bezil then presented them to Kitt as though they were a grand prize.
"The trick is, we drop some gravel every few steps to show where we've come" the Gumdramon reasoned. "If we do that, we both know our way of retreat, and know where we've already been. I mean, freshly smashed rock is easy to figure out, right?"
Bezil hoped that he was being clever here, and this would be the correct way to find their path through the labyrinth ahead.

Once Bezil was done looking at Blue Queen, Kitt would de-materialize both blades and attach the hilt to his belt. His weapon was unusual in concept because something like a dual-bladed engine sword was never seen before, especially to his species since they were usually equipped with a blue, shining blade. Well, he's had it his whole life, so he'd never questioned it. But according to Ophelia, the only other Spadamon he's ever met, his Blue Queen was truly out of this world.
Bezil then asked him that there next destination was the maze, in which he nodded in response. "Yup, that's right." He would then watch as the Gumdramon gather some pebbles from the riverbank, smash them with his tail, and then explain that they could use them to mark the places they've been in case they get lost. Really perceptive thinking from his new friend.
"Yeah, and plus if we run out of gravel, we can use some rope I have in one of the pouches on my belt." Kitt went into his pouch and took out part of a long, blue rope. He came a little bit prepare beforehand since if there was a chance the maze was in almost darkness, he would need something bright to mark his trail. "Usually I use this if I have to scale high places or to use it as an escape route when I'm-"
He covered his mouth just in time before he could revealed something that he didn't want Bezil to know; it was the fact that he uses ropes whenever he's breaking in to either an important place, or somebody wealthy just to steal anything valuable. He didn't want the Gumdramon to think that he was a criminal and think low of him. Maybe he was getting too relax. Nevertheless, he picked himself back up before continuing.
"N-Never mind. Let's keep moving."

Bezil was glad to see that Kitt was also prepared for the labyrinth ahead, having a length of blue rope. "Ah, nice planning" the Gumdramon stated. The rope could come in handy, especially if there was some kind of climbing to do. He merely raised his eyebrow at Kitt's hesitation though, but didn't ask anything further.
As they proceeded toward the next part of the treasure hunt, Bezil spoke further about theories he had been taught about exploring.
"Dad told me a story about exploring through a labyrinth once." he began. "He said that in legend, there once was a Gazimon and a Goblimon who came across a labyrinth at the same time. The Gazimon was healthy, but the Goblimon was blind. They challenged each other so that whoever found the treasure first would claim it in full. The Gazimon thought he would win because he could see. So they entered. The labyrinth was dark and repetitive, and no matter how hard the Gazimon tried, he couldn't find the exit. But the Goblimon found the treasure first. The reason why? He simply held his left hand to the wall and followed it, all the way, until he made his way to the treasure trove. I dunno it it's true or not, but, it could be a strategy worth following if all else fails?"
After awaiting Kitt's answer from that, Bezil had another thought. "Oh yeah, how I lit my tail on fire earlier. I can do that in the labyrinth too if it's dark, so we'd have light still." he assured the Spadamon.

Seeing that Bezil only drew an eyebrow and didn't bothered to inquire on what he was about to say, Kitt quietly breath a sigh of relief. That was close. Way too close. Had he asked what he'd had said, Kitt wouldn't know what do to. Even though Bezil was a nice Digimon, he didn't want him to think low of him if he knew he was just a common thief. It's not his fault he's like this. Being homeless for a time would make any regular Digimon do anything to survive. And with Kitt, it was either steal, or starve to death. He had no choice. But even though his life had changed for the better--that he no longer had any reason to resort to that habit, it still called for him, and he didn't see anything wrong with that.
To him, he felt like this world owed him from all the psychological trauma he'd endured.
As they walked towards the second part of the treasure hunt, Bezil would recite a story about how a Gazimon and a blind Goblimon challenged each other to find a treasure chest in a labyrinth. Surprisingly, the blind Goblimon won due to taking it slow and steady. The way he did it was pretty interesting. He only used his sense of touch to guide him to the finish line. This made Kitt widen his eyes in surprise. "Wow, that's kind of cool. Who'd knew that only going slow and steady, despite him not seeing, would win the race. Though I don't see any harm in trying what that Goblimon did, Heck, we might clear that maze in five minutes if we did."
Bezil then notion that he could use his tail as a torch if things got to dark, which made the nod his head. "Yeah! I was gonna say we could use my weapon to light our way, but that would deplete its fuel cells so it wouldn't last very long." he added. "I guess being a dragon has its perks, huh?"

While Bezil only raised an eyebrow at Kitt's near faux-pas, it didn't escape his notice that Kitt seemed to have something to hide. That hesitation, the shiftiness in his actions at times... not that Bezil knew what they meant, but, they weren't actions that brewed trust in his companion.
Yet the Gumdramon didn't think Kitt was being deliberately tricky here, just cautious. He had suffered in his childhood, as he had already shared. So he put it down to that for now. All it did was make Bezil determined to prove to Kitt that he was a good digimon that could be trusted.
After Kitt thought that was a good strategy to use in the labyrinth, Bezil gave a smile at the fact that his story sounded plausible. "Of course we don't have to do it exactly as the Goblimon did. We have light and means to mark our way, so all we have to do is be smart about this. Drop a few pieces of gravel at every intersection we come across, marking the spots where we've explored, we shouldn't get lost."
With that, Bezil focused his energy into his tail as he had done so before, but instead of a hot cooking flame, he only conjured a bright illumination flame. It used less energy that way, and shone brighter.
With those strategies in mind, Bezil led Kitt through the labyrinth. It took an amount of patience, since they came across many dead ends. But, with using gravel fragments to mark their way, as well as keeping the light illuminated, eventually they would come out of the other entrance, into what seemed to be a large, open-area room.
"I... think we made it through!" Bezil exclaimed, punching the air with delight, but quickly gasped and put his paws to his mouth as he remembered the final obstacle that Kitt mentioned. At the other side of the labyrinth would be... a monster.
Would that mean that they would now have to prove themselves in combat? Bezil's yellow eyes flicked around the room, but the light didn't reach the far corners. "You mentioned that we'd face the Tyrant himself at the end, right, Kitt?" he asked the Spadamon. If so, they'd need to be prepared for whatever happened next.

"Yeah!" Kitt grinned in response to Bezil, before revving up his Blue Queen, blue flames coating one of the blades instead of both. Even though Bezil had lit up his tail, it didn't hurt to have an extra light source just in case if something were to happen. "Besides, it would take a lot of effort for one of us to get lost since we're together."
With that being said, the two ventured into the labyrinth. It had grassy walls that were eight feet high, obscuring all visions of their surroundings, and had an overabundance of pathways and dead ends. Every corner they turned only made them more lost and ruptured their sense of direction. But luckily for them, they came prepared; the gravel fragments really did came in handy since they went in circles a few times. Both of their light sources was helpful as well since it made it more easier to find it.
As the minutes turned into what seemed to be hours, there was a number of items that were found in the dead ends they encountered: sacks, pieces of clothing, charred torches, anything that looked like personal belongings. It drew a morbid thought in Kitt's mind: Did these items belonged to Digimon that ventured into the labyrinth, but met bleak fates trying to find the treasure? It made him a little sick to his stomach thinking about it.
To alleviate that thought, Kitt attempted clambering up the branches several times at one point, but they weren't strong enough to hold his weight, so each time a branch gave way and he landed on the ground, and would brush the dirt off his coat in a little aggravation. So much for not trying to not think about mortality.
After what seemed to be like forever, they would come across the other side of the maze, to the entrance of a cave it seemed, much to the Spadamon's relief. "Sovereigns, finally" he blurted out, "I thought we never get out!" He took a few deep breaths, wanting to take in the fresh air. Bezil then reminded him of the final obstacle: the Tyrant itself. Kitt would shrugged in response.
"To be honest, I don't think the Tyrant exist. It seems like some folklore to scare baby Digimon if you asked me. They're probably might be traps or something, but not a dormant, ancient Digimon."

As they continued through the maze, Bezil began to feel a little troubled at seeing all the fragments of garments that they encountered. He quickly understood how easy it was to get lost in here too, since the thick green canopy above blocked out the sun, so Bezil had no bearings of what was east or west in accordance with the time. Had they been unprepared, Bezil had the mental image of a vest, coat and backpacks also becoming the same. He shuddered, but continued on, determined to find a way through this.
Still though, he had feelings of worry. Should he have told someone where he was going first? Now that he was independent of his father Owen, he wouldn't know if he was in any danger... no, he couldn't dwell on such thoughts. He had to focus.
Then, they emerged from the maze with a sense of relief. But still, there was the tyrant. Then Kitt said that he doubted they existed. This made Bezil somewhat relieved. "Okay then, if there's no tyrant, that just leaves the treasure then." he concluded. "But still, yeah, traps... hm. We'd best go about this cautiously then."
With his tail still alight, Bezil drew something else from his backpack, a metal spike normally used for stoking campfire wood. He would carefully stab the ground ahead of him as he advanced, hoping to preemptively discover any trap mechanisms that lay ahead. "Best stand behind me, Kitt, better safe than sorry." he said as he prodded at the dirt that led to whatever was ahead.

Kitt nodded and stayed behind the older Gumdramon as he started poking the ground with a metal spike to see if there were any traps mechanisms buried beneath their feet. Despite what Kitt said to Bezil, he started to have second thoughts about what he said. While yes, the rumors of the Tyrant was just folklore just to scare baby Digimon into not coming here, those clothes and items they saw in the maze begged to differ. Something happened here to many adventurers like them, and if what he said was wrong, they were probably gonna be the next victims if not careful. As they ventured deeper in the cave, with Bezil disarming any traps along the way, they entered a large area with a small river stream around them. Above them were stalactites that were hanging tight to the celling . On the other side of the pathway was the thing they were after: the treasure, which was a large chest that contained gold, jewels, and artifacts overflowing to the ground.
The sight alone made Kitt's level-headedness crumble, as he started to become too engrossed by everything. The treasure...it was right there, right in front of them just waiting to be taken, with no one able to stop them! A soft, cute giggle came from the Spadamon, who was starry-eyed. Then the giggle became a full-on laughter, as if he was deranged. This probably was enough to warn Bezil that the mere sight of it was making Kitt a little bit too excited.
"Ahhhhh! I can't take it anymore! Treasure! Treasure! Treasure!" Kitt blurted out, shaking Bezil. He then started to make a mad dash at the large chest, disregarding any chances of potential traps here. Just as he was about to reach it however, he was suddenly electrocuted by the area around the chest, sending him back a couple spaces.
