Okay, twice in the same night?! If there were reverse lottery tickets, Akari should start investing immediately because her bad luck was at a peak! "... Knowing that, I can certainly understand it..." Well, why she'd want the strength, anyway. Who'd want to hurt a sweet little Digimon like Helvetica?
At the mention of 'Hak', Syre's ear gave an interested twitch, but as the fairy quickly corrected her words, the cat just shrugged it off. "Yeah, don't be afraid to call me if you need help. I can handle myself around ultimates and the like fairly well." Syre tried to phrase that in a way that didn't come off as a braggart - after all, Akari needed to have an idea of how much she could rely on the cat. Without any additional information, the tamer might think it would be dangerous to call her over, even if it was something one of Syre's forms could deal with!
As for Xenica herself, Syre tilted her head as Akari described her as an 'outcast', candid and efficient to dealing with the world. "Oh dear... its really not that different across the boarder, is it." Syre gave a sad sigh, nodding to Helvetica but praying for a happier topic.
... Thankfully, Akari would provide one! "Hm? Oh, its not odd to us." Syre's tone was surprisingly calm, at least to Akari, as the cat gave a shrug with one arm. "I don't understand the entire principle behind it, but Trailmon is an interesting species. We're riding on a set of already-laid tracks right now, but if the train were to take a turn now, entirely new tracks would immediately be laid right in front of its wheels. Apparently, if you were to repair all of the Trailmon tracks that have eroded or been destroyed over time, they would all connect together in one network."
An interesting fact, but did that really tie back to Akari's question? "In general, I'd say machine-type Digimon are the most different compared to others. What qualifies as fulfillment or happiness for them can be quite a bit different than most, but, hey, they do what they do. And I guess it's also mutually beneficial, since the cities end up maintaining them for free, essentially?"

Akari merely solemnly nodded… Guess the stars shone a bad fate for her that night, but not enough to get her killed. Good thing too; she was putting her all towards defying fate and carving something new for herself and this world. No amount of hostile Digimon or Spirit Wielders were to stop her and Helvetica...
Honestly, it was a kind offer that Akari didn’t expect… Maybe it was just Syre being civil. While she didn’t know if any opportunities that might require outside assistance would appear to her in the near-future, she felt it was only fair to at least be thankful of the offer. “Doesn’t hurt to have connections here suppose. Maybe one day we can return the favor to you.” Akari was an equal-opportunity type of person… pay in full what one has done to or for you, benevolent or not.
Which lead to a thought… Was Xenica to be blamed for her behavior, or was it the world’s fault for molding her to be like this? In the end, Akari supposed it didn’t matter. What has been done has been done. ”I suppose that is why we band together. Anybody is capable of rising to achieve great things with the will and strength to do so. You probably could even compare that to how you Digimon Digivolve. From what I get, Ultimates are fairly rare… Megas being maybe a handful of the general population. That strength doesn’t simply come from sitting on your ass all day.”
”It must be really tough to hit those levels. I feel like I am still a long ways from Champion level myself, even with spider lady.” Helvetica added on, admittingly enraptured by how much she still had to go if she really wanted to be the best partner for Akari.
Moving to more pleasant topics, the concept of the Trailmon was intriguing… not even Syre herself seemed too knowledgeable about how it all started, but she supposed as long as the Trailmon were happy things worked. ”Living machines are still… bizarre personally. They all start out just like the rest of you, don’t they? As little blobby Fresh-levels, yet they become these mechanical beings. Digimon do a lot to spit at human understanding of life and evolution, but that does so especially.”
Helvetica for one never personally considered the matter to be a topic worth worrying about… Sure they were machines, but it didn’t matter as long as they could think and talk like the rest of them. ”I think it is just better not to think too hard on it, Akky. That is the job of philosophers and science-y folk.”

"Heh. I'm looking forward to seeing what Helvetica here can do!" Syre gave a smile and a nod, sincere in both her offer and her encouragement of the insect type. No matter what they went through before, well, they got through it - and they'll be able to claw their way through whatever hit them next (metaphorically and, with Akari's current luck, perhaps quite literally). The tamer did bring an interesting point, though, Syre nodding at Akari's reasoning.
"Mm, that seems about right. Even without a need, some Digimon can get to Champion form with just a little bit of effort, but anything more than that's honestly a strain on the body. It's also very easy for us to burn out much quicker in those higher forms..." So there was a risk even in that front. Syre gave a small chuckle at Helvetica's supposed distance from her champion level. "With Akari, it might be closer than you think."
But yes, Trailmon! The entire species was interesting, yes, but as Akari tried to equate their fresh levels to everyone else, Syre shook her head. "No, the difference is even apparent back in fresh level. Most machines evolve from a Digimon known as MetalKoromon, which is this little metal ball with beady red eyes and an electric-sparking tail, almost like a plug. They come from eggs, yes, but the species behaves differently from the 'baby-like' Digimon in the Village of Beginnings."
Much differently: with a proper data signal to guide them, literally hundreds of them could stick to one wall, and eventually try and eat their way through to the source. Helvetica had it about right, though! "Anyway... yeah, its a bit weird. Some machine types are far more sentient than others. But it's also far from the only irregular type: there's also ghosts and golems!"

There was definitely a bit of mystery as to what exactly Helvetica would Digivolve to in the future... She had not really considered in regards to what their Champion level would be, but she supposed it didn't matter right now. "I guess we'll see eventually." the girl mused gazing out the window idly. It wasn't something she was too focused on JUST this minute. Once they're ready though, getting her strong was going to be a priority.
The nature of higher forms being higher energy expenditures also made sense... Though at the same time, much like a human training their body, it made sense to her a Digimon would be able to do the same to theirs. "Helvetica is still young, but I suppose with some training it wouldn't be out of the question... Digimon with tamers Digivolve a tad easier, do they not?"
"Well, I think its when you are in danger and stuff... I don't know, gut instinct." Helvetical added on, sounding mildly unsure. Now, she didn't want for Akari to be in danger if she could help it... but at the same time, it might be unavoidable if they opt to stay in the Digital World for even small length of times. Still, she didn't feel closer though, and that worried her.
Akari merely gave the fairy a glazed look, not terribly concerned at that matter. If danger decided to come her way, then they better bring backup.
So there were even machine Fresh levels? Odd though considering the nature of Digimon as a whole, but not unexpected... and that wasn't even scratching the surface on just how strange the world of Digimon could get. "So you are telling me even undead Digimon exist?" the girl asked skeptically, though at the same time it was not unbelievable. She shook her head, opting to just not dwell on it too hard. "Well, I believe it... somewhat. I suppose that just means there is still much for me to learn about this world still."

"A lot of it is, um, 'genetics', but partner Digimon do evolve easier than other Digimon." Syre gave a nod, as well as a warning: "But its a two-way street. Helvetica has to pull the energy from somewhere, and the light from the Digivice isn't just some magic power. It comes from you, so... well, you might be training just as hard as Helvetica."
Honestly, that didn't sound too bad! Yes, danger was a part of it, but if Helvetica would only ever Digivolve out of stress, these two weren't going to last very long. Akari was right that they needed to get ahead of the game, somehow.
As for other types of Digimon, well, Syre found herself stifling a chuckle. "Trust me, even those of us who live here don't know all of it. But if you want to know the things Digimon can be, there's... let's see..."
The cat closed his eyes briefly - what did it say in dad's book again?
"... Dark, Avian, Holy, Dragon, Beast, Insect-and-Plant, Water, and Machine." Those eight - it was a bit broad and there were probably exceptions, but Syre was glad to get through all of them! "I might be a virus-nightmare soldier, but I'm still a 'Beast'. The undead would be 'dark'."

Genetics playing a role in how difficult Digimon may find their evolutions made sense to Akari, but at the same time Syre brought up a good point regarding that if Helvetica wasn’t able to Digivolve, there had to be a reason. It made sense to Akari that it may have been no fault of Helvetica’s own. It wasn’t something Akari was opposed to though. ”I am not cowardly enough to just hide behind others… I have made it my intention to stay on-par with Helvetica. Neither one of us is allowed to slack off if the other is trying their best, if that makes sense.” the girl affirmed her intentions as a tamer.
This path to power would require utmost cooperation and trust… both in the allies she chose, and the bonds that enchain them.
The Flitmon affirmed that statement with a plucky nod… She had her own reasons to be so fervously loyal to Akari… Still, as loyal as she was she barely had an idea just how grand and varied the populace of the Digital World really was. ”Man, it feels like I am missing a lot here. I didn’t know we were all so diverse until we first got here… more so than humans. A lot of them look the same honestly to me.” the fae mused before attempting to grab Syre’s attention. ”So what do ya think I fall under? Holy? Or maybe an insect or plant… I’ve not really thought about it.”
”Hard to tell really… You’re one of the more human-looking Digimon I’ve seen… Kinda. I would guess you’re related to insects though because of the butterflies and wings… call it a hunch.” Akari shrugged. Frankly, it was anyone’s guess here she felt, less Syre had a better idea as to what the fairy’s nature was. There was a lot about Helvetica that didn’t add up to her, but for now she had no means of further pursuing answers. ”Perhaps when you do Digivolve again, we will get better insight on just where you fall under…”

"Heh. I'm sure you two can do it, just wanted to make sure you two knew what you were getting into. Unfortunately, its not like they write an instructional manual on this stuff..." The cat blinked, considering for a moment. "Though I wonder how much that could sell for in Terminus?"
Food for thought for later, really, and it would probably be her dad writing the book, anyway. She gave a small chuckle at the thought. After explaining the broad categories of Digimon, she gave a nod to Helvetica, agreeing that there was a lot to miss out on. "Mm, humans aren't all alike, in personality anyway..." She gave a sigh at that, before blinking at Helvetica's question. "Oh, Insect-Plant, definitely."
She was human-like, yes, but there were a few things that gave it away - the butterfly wings... "And that cute flower on your hair!" In fact, most fairies fell into this hybrid category. "If you're curious about this stuff, there are a few places you could learn in Whitewater or the like - though the teaching is admittedly more for Digimon that have a bit of knowledge in the subject already..."
Yeah, there wasn't a human-based class for it yet, unfortunately!
