Things were not going well for Andrei - not at all. One minute, he was in the forest near the town he lived in, recording a video for his channel...
... and the next, he was in somewhere completely foreign to him. As far as the eye could see, a swamp-like and marshy bayou stretched out before him - broken up by the occasional foliage, and shallow running rivers. No roads were visible, at least from where he stood, and so for all Andrei knew, he was lost in the middle of nowhere. In nothing but wilderness.
Worry creased Andrei's face - he had been just about ready to step back and start heading home, too, before he fell into that... weird... tear-looking thing. But now? He seemed to have passed thru it to somewhere else completely... And not too long ago, he watched that very same tear he came thru close itself back up and disappear - so there was no way back, it seemed. The only thing he could do was, well, two things - stay here and hope the tear opened back up, and hope that it'd be closer to the ground - or he had a way to get up into the air - by the time it reopened...
... Or start walking, which... Of the two, seemed like the most reasonable, at least to him. No one could possibly be looking for him out here, and as before, he'd have to hope the tear either was closer to the ground when it reopened, or that he'd have a way up when it did - which... Both seemed unlikely to him, sadly.
"Geez...." He'd breathe - trying to not tear up and get upset in the midst of this development in his life. He had just wanted to lead a relatively simple life, at least until he knew what he was doing. Run a for-fun YouTube channel documenting his attempts to find cryptids, ghosts, and talk about conspiracy theories, save up some money from a simple convenience-store job, and perhaps one day get into law school... Sure, maybe law school wasn't the simplest thing - but that was for later on, really. But now...? It all seemed all the more distant, now that he was somewhere strange and unfamiliar - would people even notice that he disappeared...??
"Nn..." ... N-no, no, breathe... Andrei would take in a deep, shaky breath as he wiped at his eyes - he could... He could get this all figured out. He'll just... Follow the rivers, yeah! Usually there's people by rivers, right? And then he could make his way to a town, and talk to someone to get help! Y-yeah! It was, well... Very wishful thinking - though Andrei didn't want to think about the alternatives. He didn't want to think about how he could be further from home than he could ever imagine - or that he might...
Andrei would try to stop himself with another deep breath in. No. No more thinking, j-just... Just start walking.
He'd take a second to brush his jeans off - a little bit of mud caked onto them from his tumble and make sure his belongings were all accounted for, before he'd start walking; making his way towards one of the many nearby rivers that made up the bayou. Thinking for a second as he reached the shore, he'd glance back and forth - wondering whether to follow it upstream, or downstream, though... After considering it for a good half-minute, he'd figure that going upstream might give better results. Thus, he would begin walking upriver - hoping that whatever greater power was out there would help him find his way in this strange, new, wilderness...

"Mmm, this is weird, never been here before..." a voice said out loud. "I swear over here was supposed to be more forest, but I wonder why it turned into swamp like this?"
"Whichever it is, please just guide us to get out of here. This is so awkward..." another voice quipped. It sounded fed up compared to the first voice's genuinely confused tone.
"Oh don't worry about that. I can talk to the plants you know? They said the shortest way out is to follow the river. We're downstream here so going upstream would be the logical choice. They said to be careful though considering that apparently there are wild Digimons around here..."
"...I think I should have picked better wardrobe honestly. Had I knew I'd purchased a pair of boots and wear something easier to wash... These are my favorites"
"...Heh, that's true... well, um, how about this, I'll make something that can help us trek this place easier. I dunno how helping they would be though..."
"And what is it?"
"Let's see... hmmm... It's some sort of bridge I guess. It'll take a while to build, but it's better than to splat mud to your jeans right?"
"Sorry, I don't want to sound prissy, but this is just impossible with my usual steel coated boots."
"That I know, don't worry!"
There was a slight rumble on the earth but soon the trees lifted a bit of their roots, creating bridge made of it. It's still muddy, but far better than trekking directly on swamp. "Thanks you all! Alright, let's hop on! The pathway around the river should be drier than swampy ground like this!"
The first figure revealed itself to be a Floramon with white cap instead of the usual red and lily for hands instead of morning glory. The second one is a girl that looked like mixture between Asian and Caucasian with blond hair and cat ears.

Mud, water, and more mud... It seemed there wasn't much to be found out here, much to Andrei's chagrin. The mud was caking onto his shoes, and it made it hard to walk at any decent rate - and even would splash onto his jeans sometimes when he slipped into the river! All in all, he was kind of a sopping wet and muddy mess, on top of being extremely stressed out and on-edge. He wasn't sure when he would find anyone, let alone if - he certainly hadn't seen anything or anyone of interest out here thus far, at least until...
"HEY!"
A voice shouted out to him - Andrei froze in place, glancing around, though he couldn't seem to find anyone...
"DOWN HERE, YA LILY-LIVERED PUNK!"
He'd jump a little blinking and glancing down, only to see...
... A strange, orange-furred little creature, with spikes coming off of its back...?? Andrei was unable to do anything but gawk, staring at the Gizamon hanging out on the shoreline, in the shallows of the river - giving him a rather nasty little look. "Ya think you softie humans can just waltz around MY turf just because ya ain't digimon, yeah??" The Gizamon would growl out, approaching Andrei - who would suddenly snap out of his gawking daze to back up in turn, "I-uhm-uh..." He'd stammer, unsure of what to make of all of this - he had no clue what a digimon was, let alone what the little furry fella was!
"Playing dumb, are ye? Well, how about I knock some sense into you?!" The Gizamon would snap, before pouncing at Andrei! Yelping loudly, Andrei would dodge to one side - just barely avoiding the Gizamon's extended claws, and hurriedly digging in his bag for something. The Gizamon, upon landing, was ready to leap at Andrei once again - but as they bunched up their muscles in preparation...
PSSHHHHHHHHH! "GAH!"
... Andrei would've pulled out his Bigfoot Repellant, and spray it in the Gizamon's face! They'd end up falling to the ground, pawing wildly at their face as Andrei turned tail and ran further upriver, eager to get away from this weird lovechild between an otter and a knife. Or, perhaps, chainsaw would be more apt... Cause partway up the river, Andrei would look backwards to make sure that he was in the clear... Only to see the Gizamon, curled up into a wheel of spikes, rolling on after him! "I'M GONNA MAKE YOU FUCKIN' PAY FOR THAT!" Andrei would - once more - make a yelp of terror - "I-I'M SORRY, PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE..!" as he booked it, trying to avoid being run over by the pissed off knifeotter.
As he ran though, he'd see a couple of figures up ahead - one shorter than the other, though they looked... Hopefully humanoid! Not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially not with the Gizamon on his trail, he'd shout out to them - calling "H-HEY! I NEED HELP OVER HERE!" and waving an arm.

The bayou was a very great place for an entity such as a Syakomon to hide out whenever she went on her lone adventures. Nice, humid, and quite muddy. Unfortunately, though, near where the princess of the tides, Nereid, rested? There was commotion! "Mmmm...Is it really not nap time?" The clam mused to herself, her eyes opening some to peer around.
Where were those noises coming from...? Nereid started to move away before someone ran by her and some THING rolled right over her and poked her right in the eye with a spike! The Syakomon let out a yell of indignation before her shell opened and the Digimon within glared at the source. Never mind all the yelling, that BALL just committed a cardinal sin!
Was that a Gizamon? Maybe. "You activated my BITCH card, you mongrel!" She yelled before she became enveloped in a turquoise light, an exceptionally tall Ranamon taking her place as she fired a spray of water at the Gizamon! Granted her aim was incredibly off as she had to hold a hand to her eye!
Needless to say, none of this was likely helping the poor, terrified kid. And this would all look strange to the girl and her strange Floramon.

"...What was...?" Freya muttered as suddenly SOMETHING happened, something completely unexpected. Another human, this one looked unpartnered. No beep on the Digivice either, which either means he turned off his Digivice detecting power or has yet to be bestowed with one. As much as she wanted to use her Pollen Blaster attack at this moment, the other guy is too close to the Gizamon. Boy, that's one very angry mammalian toad from the look of it.
"Karin-chan, I'll r---"
But instead, Karin was the one to dash first. Freya looked in awe, but also shook her head resignedly. Secretly, she smiled. Yes, this is how the Ojou she remembered.
Karin was so ready to grab a nearby vine and swing to Andrei's position to kick the offender, but something else happened. It was too shocking that she had to stop for a few moment. A Syakomon that suddenly evolved into a Ranamon? This is wild, damn wild. But this is enough for Freya to finally shoot her vine at the tallest branch closest to Andrei. She retracted her vine, allowing her to be pulled from the force, and swung herself close enough to the youth in distress.
"Hey, how about you pick something less fleshier, toad?" she taunted the Gizamon "Eat this! Pollen Blaster!!"
Pollen Blaster:
Floramon shoots pollen pods at the opponent. It will damage them moderately, and releases pollens that lowers the effectiveness of their attack by 30% for two turns. Three turns cooldown.

Today just wasn't the Gizamon's day, it seemed. Peppersprayed by some random soft-skin human, and then suddenly being blasted from both sides by a Floramon and a Ranamon! "GYAH!" The combined attack would - effectively - stop the rolling ball of spikes and anger (and watery eyes), sending the Gizamon veering off into the river with a splash. The surface would bubble a second, a prelude to the Gizamon poking their head out of the water; and they seemed ready to retaliate! But, upon realizing that they were quite outnumbered and outpowered, they seemed to reconsider - especially with the sluggishness in their limbs from the Pollen Blaster attack...
"Grfff... Fuck this shit, I'm out!" The Gizamon would finally declare; submerging, and presumably swimming off before Nereid and Freya could lay the smackdown on them. Turf disputes weren't worth risking being killed - or worse, loaded.
Which, left Andrei. When he heard someone shout behind them, he'd have looked back to see what looked to be... A talking clam? That suddenly turned into an odd, mermaid-like woman...?? "W-wuh?!"
The very surprise had been enough to stop him in his tracks as well, staring at Nereid as she blasted water at the Gizamon. And when Freya called out to the Gizamon and he saw the pollen pods fly past him at said digimon, he'd end up glancing back at a weird, flower-person with an even more confused "Huh...?! Wh... what's going on here...?!" He was alarmed and unsure of these... Beings... ganging up on the Gizamon - though he was plenty thankful that the weird knifeotter decided to swim off. It still left him stunned and wary though, as he slowly backed off from Nereid and Freya, glancing between the two of them - his fight or flight instincts arguing between freeze or flee.
He'd glance back ahead upriver though, and notice that the person on the wooden bridge seemed to be human, or at least... He hoped so! The cat ears might be fake? Right? God, what did he just get himself into...

There were far more sides to this story than the angry princess of the tides had initially realized, and this made itself known after the Gizamon, for lack of a better word, fucked RIGHT OFF after being peppered with attacks. That left Nereid to deal with everything else. This meant the scared human, and the other tamer.
And the pain in her eye. It was...a lot. Enough that the Ranamon suddenly dedigivolved back into a teary-eyed Syakomon with one eye closed. "Owwww..." She whimpered. Having your eye stabbed by a spike really hurts, you know? The clam turned towards Andrei and tried to put on her best confident voice. "My nap got interrupted is what...Um. Are you new here...?"

"Hmph, how barbaric of that one Digimon," Freya criticized "but the moment it got overpowered it ran. Should have kept that temper in check instead of trying pull nonsense like that."
"...Seriously that was awkward," Karin muttered. Her cat earphone twitched like a curious cat when she finally saw another human. "What's.... going on here? That's a nice question. Would ask the same thing myself, so... what happened?"
"Perhaps some sort Digimon with wild ego you know. Type that would say 'get offa my lawn' or something like that. Ah, hurt are you? Come here, let me make it all better."
Karin was left to imagine an elderly looking Gizamon waving a cane while saying that... it's a strange image, but one that made her stiffled a laughter. Freya meanwhile began dancing in front of Nereid, flowers growing on each steps she left behind. She made a circle of flower that would hopefully heals the eye.
"There, it should be enough to alleviate the pain. Now, ain't that a bit rude to your savior, young man?" Freya now addressed Andrei, flower arms on her hips. "A bit of thank-yous won't hurt you know!"

The ears twitched, oh jeez - did that mean that she was like the flower person and the merma-... Oh, he guessed they... uh... were a talking clam again. He was extremely confused, stressed, and anxious - which left his fight or flight instincts, as mentioned before, debating between freeze or flight. The immediate danger was gone, which helped ease his stress - but he was still being confronted by a pair of unknown beings, in an unknown land, and he nary knew how to protect himself if these two ended up aggressive, too! This, all in all, left him very anxious and uncomfortable. He'd glance between them for a second, and would make a soft, distressed noise - feeling pretty put on the spot - and stammering out a quick "T-thankyou!" as he bowed his head.
It seemed that his instincts were leaning more on the freeze or fawn side of things though; his posture and demeanor stiff and wary. He would grip his arms and scrunch up his shoulders a little, as he glanced around - keeping a nervous, wary eye on the three. After second, his eyes fell upon Karin, and he'd try to shuffle in her direction - eyes glancing to Freya and Nereid every so often as he did. Once he got close enough, he'd stage whisper in a somewhat panicked tone to Karin asking "I- wh... Where am I? What's going on? What-who are they??" He was trying - and failing - to keep his cool, in this new and strange situation; school never prepared him for being lost in the middle of nowhere quite like this!

To say that Nereid couldn't nurse her wound herself was...actually incredibly accurate, a lack of arms made it IMPOSSIBLE to actually nurse the wound sustained to her eye. Luckily for her, the Floramon that beckoned her over was feeling merciful today and decided to put on a cute show that also led to sweet relief for her eye.
"Thanks..." Nereid stated, opening her eye and her shell to reveal the goopy Syakomon within the shell. She stared at Andrei for a few long moments before she realized that she was looking at humans and didn't have a holosuit on. "...Oh. Oh. You must be terrified. Um. One second."
Nereid's shell closed and she rummaged for something before she clicked it and the clam was replaced with a flash of light that revealed a young lady about Karin's height, with a hat that bore the most horrific eyes of all.
Frog eyes. "There. I've got arms again...So, um. You didn't really answer my question, either of you. I'm sorry to repeat myself, but are you new here? Or is one less new than the other...?" Oh, she was also looking at how they were interacting.
One must always be on the lookout for that which they specialize in.

"Yes, some thank-yous are great. Now! Hope you guys are fine enough to talk, because we'll talk I guess! Oh, and please, have a seat. I guess since that froggity frog ran away from us this can be our little turf-- just kidding~!" Freya waved her hand at random direction to create four chairs made out of... roots? It just worked! Adventitious buds are very useful!
However the moment Nereid used her holosuit, it's Karin's turn to gawk. She's... not used to this at all! What just happened?
"Ah, that's called holosuit. Which is a way for a Digimon to assume human form. Not all Digimon have it, and... well, Digimons can sniff other Digimon even with Holosuit on, so it's not hard. Supposedly I think I have one too."
The Floramon took out what looked like a small trinket and pressed a button. Immediately she assumed form of what looked like a lady in her late twenties with brown, long hair, rather daring dress, and roses on both her dress and headdresses. "Oh my the way we can't do much in this form. We're pretty much 'turned human' in this form, in everything but our unit I guess. We're still data."
"........Where...?"
"Oh, I happened to bought it before this."
"Where?"
"Now that... is a lady secret, Karin-chan~"
"...Ah..." she decided to ignore her partner for now. "Yes, I'm new. But... I'm not as lost as the... other guy. I just happened to come here through the river... um, Shibuya River. Freya said that the outcome is random, but I was intrigued. It just something called me over so... here I am."
Hmmm, so the guy is so confused? Ah well. "I'd offer you some herb tea myself if I could, young man, but I'm unfortunately out of it. Instead I'll answer your question. You're in Digital World, a world parallel of your own. Knowing that you doesn't looks like a Japanese at all, do you know the term 'isekai'? Any novel like that perhaps, or travel to other world ala Alice in Wonderland? That's what happened to you at the moment. That frog... and us, but not Karin-chan, are the denizen of this world... The [Digital Monsters], Digimon."

Terrified was one way to put it, for sure. Andrei would watch with extreme puzzlement and wariness, as the clam and flower person suddenly changed in shape, to become humans! Were he in any state to think of anything but not getting eaten or murdered by something, he'd probably draw a similarity between this and the usual 'lizard person' conspiracies - they weren't lizard people, they were talking clams and flowers! But, instead, he was left with his building confusion and anxiety as he stuck to Karin's side - hoping that she wasn't one of these odd creatures in disguise, too, as he listened to them talk about Holosuits.
Thankfully though, he was beginning to calm a little, especially since these three individuals proved to be friendly, at least. He was still stressed, still anxious, but he was starting to find his wits as he took in a deep, shaky breath. "I... uhm..." He'd mumble to himself at first - beating around the bush a little as he tried to think over his words. "Y-yeah, I... I'm new here? I guess? I d-don't even know where I am right now..." He'd murmur to Nereid, hugging himself to try and calm himself down, and glancing aside. Even if he was calming down though, that hat was kind of creepy....
He'd glance over to Karin as she explained herself as well - Shibuya River... It didn't totally ring a bell for him - he guessed that was from another part of the world? It sounded Japanese, but he wasn't about to make any guesses. Though, he supposed that he'd explain himself further, too - mentioning "I, uhm... I'm from Louisiana? I was just wandering around in the woods not too far from town, to check out this weird... Tear or whatever I found in the lake; and I fell into it by accident." He'd take out his camcorder - fiddling with it a second and adding "I've got it recorded on here, but it's been, uhm, acting a little weird since I got here - so I dunno how to show you guys... I hope the fall into the lake didn't eff it up..."
Then came the explanation of Digimon and the Digital World, though. Andrei would only look further confused and worried as Freya described a whole other world entirely - "So I'm... Not even on Earth..?!" He'd proclaim, as though shocked, even if a small part of himself had considered this to be a possibility - as farfetched as it was at the time. A mix of emotions would flicker across his face - surprise, worry, fear, none of them exactly good emotions as it all sunk in for him; that he might not be getting home quite so easily as he had futilely hoped.
He would reach a hand up to yank at his own hair - the only thing keeping him from using both hands being his camcorder in the opposite hand. "Oh god, how am I even going to get home that goddang rift closed when I fell through itandI'mlostinthemiddleofnowhereandarepeopleevengoingtonoticethatI'mgone-.." He began rambling to himself in a freaked out fashion, before trailing off in a sharp, distressed whine in his throat, screwing his eyes shut with a simple "Pizdets..." as he cursed to himself, under his breath, "P-please just be shitting with me here..."

"A friend of mine bought me this at Terminus. That's...the city at the center. The core." Nereid explained as she hopped into one of the root chairs. Louisiana...That was actually a place Nereid had never heard of before. "Oh, wow, tell me about that! ...If you want, um. Mom says I'm not supposed to pry into things like that. I can't...quite condone coming here through that awful river. It's filthy. Nasty!"
And...
"Plus you don't really know where you'll come out...So, yeah, this isn't really earth." She finished, before she noticed the boy doing something she was pretty sure she had seen aunt Naoko do before. One of the bad things. "Hey, hey. Stay with me. Take a few deep breaths.”
What was this called again...? She looked to Karin and Freya with a look in her eyes that pleaded for aid. Humans were weird creatures to this little clam...

"Lousiana..." Karin parroted. "...Wait that's the United States of AMERICA! That's... THAT'S ANOTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD!" She thought that only people from Japan that can ends here? It... it doesn't make sense! But Freya on the other hand muttered 'Oh Dear'. Before Karin can say anything else...Freya decided to speak first. Karin muttered 'sorry' at Nereid for unable to answer her remark right now.
"Digital World's anomaly prevented whatever electronic human device to work properly. If it requires internet, then the disturbance will be worse. It should get back to normal sooner or later. However, it's important to know that... The portal leading to this world only appears concretely in Japan."
However, the moment he looked as if he hyperventilated and looked shocked, Freya was the first one to act. She grabbed his wrist. Any notion of her joking vanished from her face. She looked at him like a professional who had seen this too many times to count.
"...You shouldn't do that. First, calm down. Take a deep breath... If you feel my hand right now, you should known that I'm not kidding, right? But it doesn't mean that you should submit to your fear. This is not the end, and you should not submit to any sort of ridiculousness that this world imposed to you. For better or worse, you're not the only case of this happened. You can go to the embassy in Japan and I'm pretty sure they'll give you visa.
However, purchasing ticket might be a different thing altogether... 2000$ to 3000$, or maybe 4000$... that sort of money isn't the kind of money you can get from part time jobs. But either way, the right way to do this is to probably later get to real world, talk to your parents that you're dragged away in a holiday or something by a friend... that way they know that you're alive and well.
...Afterward, came to the plan of what do you want to do next. Whether you want to stay here... in Digital World... or do you want to go to real world and attempt to collect 4000$ at it? Regardless, to work in Japan you will need to learn its language."

As Andrei's wrist was taken, he would freeze up - but... It seemed to be enough of a shock to stop his panic in its tracks, at least. Hearing Freya and Nereid both speak to him, Andrei would take a second, before taking in a few deep breaths - his breath shuddering with each inhale, each exhale. His hands and shoulders were shaking, as he slumped down in the wooden chair that Freya had shaped before - staring downwards at his feet. He could feel emotions well up, yet choked them down for now as Freya kept speaking. Embassy, a vista, a ticket, working...
Andrei slumped further, "I-I..." He'd begin - stammering slightly, his breath hitching as though he were about to hyperventilate again... But... He'd manage to half-ass another deep breath to try and calm himself, hugging his knees to his chest - mud be damned - as he murmured "I d-don't even... Even know h-how long it'd take me to learn a-any damn Japanese before I could start making money for a ticket, I don't even k-know how I'd explain all of this... Bullshit!" He'd gesture his arms widely, as though talking about the situation in general. "To an embassy or whatever, I-I... I just..."
... As he trailed off, Andrei's breath would hitch, and the emotions would well up once more. He could feel his eyes growing wet, his body shaking, as he buried his face against his knees - he tried to calm himself down, but... Despite it all, he couldn't help it, couldn't help beginning to cry; his pant legs only growing more wet with tears. He was stressed. He was scared. He didn't know what to do, "I j-just... just want to g-go home...!" He'd whimper, breath hitching in between words as he cried to himself. Despite his best attempts to breathe, to keep himself together, he was failing spectacularly...
