Prelude to a Storm [Bors/Open]

As he ran the two on his back seemed to remain rather quiet. Based on the few glances he could briefly take the Tokomon seemed content to lay there and relax, probably happy he'd finally met his partner. David however seemed to be focused on something else, remaining quite quiet. Honestly, Bors wasn't too surprised by this. After all, David seemed to be quite a young human, as such he was probably still trying to wrap his head around the idea of all of this, it was a lot of stuff to have dropped on him so rapidly.
Finally, David asked the little pink ball what his name was, who told him that he didn't have one. Again, not a surprise, while having a name wasn't too rare, most digimon didn't bother to take one. Hell, he'd probably be going by DemiTyrannomon himself if Cherrymon hadn't named each of them when they hatched at the Village of Beginnings.
Finally, David addressed him, asking if they were there yet. "Not yet David, however, if you take a look ahead you'll notice that we are getting closer." He responded, lifting a hand and pointing ahead of him, where a resort could be seen in the distance. "I'd say we got a fifteen to twenty minute journey still. Think you can survive that?"

NPC ENTERING
...unfortunately, as they gone forward, something amiss began to show itself. These area are supposed to be the more populated type, as it's close to one of the biggest resort there... but for some reason the beach are empty the palm trees are dying, and the sand has turned purple. It smelled fishy, both literally and figuratively. What left on the sands are footprints of various human and Digimons, scattered in such a haphazard manner, almost like they had no idea where to ran or hide. Did the culprit killed them? No one knows. What's clear are the bloodstains on the sand. The amount would be fatal if it's from one person, but it does not seem that way, thankfully.
...Regardless, a thick miasma seem to come from the resort building slightly further. There, a purple tentacle, equipped with stinger seem to wave erratically. At times it waved, but at times it jolted, almost like contorting in pain. It gone limp for a while before more miasma poured out... then it resumed its action, like it's in a loop.
What can be heard from over here is sound of wailing. From pain? From sadness? Nobody know.

Still fifteen minutes, even at this speed. Still, David could at least see their destination in the distance; a large resort that certainly seems like it would represent one of the most prominent on the archipelago. With little left to talk about at the moment, David pulls out his old red DSlite from his left pant pocket and flips it open, resuming the session of Power Rangers Super Legends that had been suspended.
Tokomon quickly took an interest in what his tamer was doing. and cocked his head at the odd device. At first, the mon thought it might have been a D-Terminal, but it wasn't quite the right shape for that. Seeing this, David moved the console down in front of Tokomon so that they both could have a good look at it. "This is the best game." On the screen was what appeared to be pretty standard fare for a beat-em-up, as a Black Mighty Morphin Ranger punched, kicked, and axed his way through putties as he moved from right to left across a construction site.
"This guy's Adam. He's cool, I guess. I like axes. But my favorite Ranger isn't in this game. We have to stop evil guys from taking over time." David started to ramble on, attempting to explain the game to a Tokomon that was desperately trying to retain all the knowledge that was coming his way. However, it turns out that David is bad at explaining things. This was less a lesson in Ranger history and more just a string of tangentially related facts. In short order, he had moved on from actually playing the game to showing off the game's full list of characters, after opening up a save file with a completed game. "And then Zedd came and banished Rita. And he made her putties stronger. But all he did was put a giant Z on their chest that makes them explode when you touch it. Zedd was weird. Also scary." And so on.
So engrossed in the game and his 'explanations,' David did not notice the stark change in scenery as they got closer and closer to the resort. In fact, it was Tokomon that first took notice, glancing over the screens every once in a while, as they hurt his eyes a bit being so close. The whole feeling of the scene changed, and he felt uneasy, shrinking back into David's lap. Off in the-not-too-distant-any-longer distance, the sands shifted and turned a stark purple with various deep footprints. It looked like death, and Tokomon smelled it.

Bors simply continued to run, occasionally hopping over a small obstacle here and there. While silent, he was paying attention to what David was telling the pink puff ball, though he didn't really understand what he was talking about when it came to these Rangers, Rita, Zedd, and putties. However, this did not distract him from the changing environment as he ran, and he wasn't liking what he was seeing.
Slowly coming to a halt, he stared at the purple sand at his feet, he then lifted his head up, seeing how the palm trees in this area seemed to be dying. He then noticed the overwhelmingly fishy smell in the area, causing his lips to curl and nose to wrinkle in disgust. His eyes then widened slightly when he caught another smell in the air, it was quite faint compared to the main smell, but he slowly looked back at the ground. Mixed into the purple sand was another dark color, a red color. Blood. As well as the footprints of various digimon and humans going in different directions. This isn't good, is this why the area is so quiet? Was there an attack?
His head then shot up as he heard a wailing noise. Looking towards the building he saw that some sort of gunk was coming from the building, or, more specifically, the strange tentacle that was occasionally writhing about. Based on the color of the gunk and the tentacle, Bors assumed that whatever the thing that was attached to was the cause of all this. He then heard the Tokomon say they should turn around and that he didn't like this, which Bors nodded to in agreement before speaking with a whisper. "While I agree with you, we have no choice but to go this way, we go the other direction and we get further away from the resorts, and we don't wanna be stuck out in the wild at night. Both of you stay as quiet as possible, I have to try and sneak us around it." He then lowered himself to the ground, slowly and carefully taking gentle steps.

Bors' action indeed could easily mute down the sound of the incoming from his footsteps... it also helped that it's sand, not solid ground. However, that action might not be wise. The miasma is thicker on the ground level. Now if anyone inhale that it'll be really dangerous. The toxin mist might be weak around their side, but the closer they are to the source, the worse it would be.
The wailing got louder and louder... until a bit more of the Digimon showed itself. At the first glance it looked like a Gesomon... except it's not. Two dreadful eyes eyes poking out from its sides, looking more to the real world giant squid. It's sharp teeth looked sharper... the coloration... are purple. Like other Gesomons, it have two tentacles and six arms. The two tentacles ended with stingers.
If Gesomon looked devilish, this creature probably looked more so. There are exhaust for poisons on the top of its head. What sort of mutation is this, perhaps no one without improved scanner would have known. But either way... it moved... it moved toward the road heading to the beach.

"Of course it's right." David immediately got a bit defensive at his Tokomon's comment, which he misinterpreted as being towards him. "I know what I'm talking about." This did, however, have the effect of knocking David out of his ramblings to take a look around. "Oooooooh. That's what you meant." Before him were so many things he had never seen before. A bloodsoaked land, and the general signs of distress and conflict. Yet no bodies around. Did whatever do this EAT everyone? Were they going to get eaten, too? David's mind shuddered, as this mental tangent took its course.
As Bors knelt down and proceeded slowly, David knew that the danger he was thinking of was all too real. "What do you think it is?" The boy's voice came across as a harsh whisper. He doesn't do quiet very well. The question was soon answered as a giant tentacle...squid....thing appeared and approached closer. So this was the bad guy. It looked like a monster that one of the Toxic Mutants from Power Rangers Megaforce would have created and sent down to pollute the Earth. Upon this realization, David got even more scared. Who would be here to save them? No Rangers, certainly. That was just a television show. David and Tokomon weren't fighters. Bors might be. He was a dinosaur after all, but with the way he wanted to sneak around, that may be untrue as well.
"What even is that thing? David and Tokomon inquired under their breath almost simultaneously. It looked almost familiar, like a Gesomon that had been experimented on, or had tried to load some weird data, or something else not right. Either way, this was clearly more dangerous than the run-of-the-mill champion, and no one here stood a chance. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. Glancing down at the ground as he sneaked along, Bors noticed there was a sort of mist also hovering above the goop. While he couldn't say for certain what exactly this mist was, he was glad his height helped to keep his head several inches above the mist, even when he was kneeling down. Still, not willing to take any chances, he tilted his head back, holding his nose as high as he could without losing sight of the area in front of him.
He then heard David whisper quite loudly, asking what it was. Before Bors could respond he came to a halt, hearing the creature grow louder and watching as more of the creature appeared. This....thing, he wasn't really sure what else to call it, looked like a mutated Gesomon. He could see a pair of eyes on it's body, and the teeth looked sharper. Continuing to watch it as it....slithered? Dragged itself? He couldn't really tell, but he could see it moving along the path that led to the the beach.
Glancing back at the two on his back, he whispered once more. "I don't think we have a choice anymore, we have to turn around, find a way around the Resort and look for another one. You have to stay quiet until I say so." After finishing, Bors began to turn around as quickly as he possibly could without making too much noise. However, due to how he was holding his head up to ensure it stayed out of the mist, he didn't see the seemingly untouched campfire at his feet, which he planted a foot on top of, causing the branches and leaves to crushing and crack loudly, he could of sworn it even echoed. Oh no....not even a second after thinking this Bors stood back up to his full height and launched forward, praying he was faster then the larger champion.

...That was a great mistake. The Gesomon's tentacles tensed as it slowly faced Bors. Its wail stopped from noticing another Digimon... and now... it twitched. Its legs stopped and its 'head' now lowered forward... Is it going to let them go? For a moment that seemed like an eternity, it stayed in that position, curled up like a weeping monstrosity.
...Until disaster struck.
Suddenly, all six legs tensed up. It launched itself, just like a rocket, immediately behind Bors. Its tentacles shooting straight at the two on his back, aiming to strike them. Thankfully, it has dehydrated somewhat, thus leading to fact that its tentacle strike won't have that much power if it hits--and even then it seem to be rather difficult to hit considering that its muscular power has reduced, thus leading to slow strike, almost like a child stage projectile attack.

Turn around. Yes. That made the most sense. And so they did. Slowly. Quietly. David kept one hand over his own mouth and the other over that of his Tokomon. This was both to keep them from making a noise, but also to keep from breathing in too much of this weird miasma. While Bors carefully reversed course, David kept his line of sight trained on the Not Gesomon, strangely enthralled by the threatening monstrosity. Partially out of fear, partially out of morbid curiosity, he watched every movement it did carefully. He wasn't trying to analyze it or find any patterns or anything of the sort, it was just mesmerizing.
Suddenly, a loud crack echoed through the silence. On reflex, David's head spun as if on a swivel, hand still clamped firmly on the mouth down at the kindling and tinder beneath his dinosaur friend's feet. "Drat." The strongest curse word David knew came out soft and muffled from behind his barricaded mouth. Glancing back, it was clear that their adversary had noticed, but what was it doing? David squinted his eyes and leaned forward a bit, trying to see exactly what was happening. The thing had tensed up and lowed itself. This was a familiar pose to the boy, who had had cats before moving to Japan. It was about to pounce, or whatever the squid equivalent would be.
And so it did, launching itself at the pair faster than Bors could bolt away, throwing two tentacles at the stunned child. Tokomon, wresting itself away from David's loosening grip on his face, jumped backward off Bors and threw himself at one of the tentacles, attempting to Chomp down on the thicker 'hand' part and locking his jaw into place. Even if he knew he couldn't fight it off, there was always something that could be done. And right now, that something was preventing as much damage to David as he could. Even if in the long run this was a stupid move, it was all he could think to do.
Tokomon could do nothing about the second tentacle, though, and David was too stunned by the sudden movement forward that he could hardly move. It was all he could do to simply tense up and brace himself for impact. Even though the attack was slow and weak relative to what the Not Gesomon was probably capable of, David was still a very small and light child. The slap was more than enough to send him flying off Bors back a few feet, sliding on his side through a bit of bloodied sand.
He was able to shuffle up to his feet and look at the scene before him. Every fiber in his body just SCREAMED out to run. Get away. Get anywhere but here. But he didn't move. What about Bors? David couldn't just leave him here. He was the first friend the boy had made in a while. Friends don't just abandon friends. And that went for his Tokomon, too. They were destined to be together, right? Fate wouldn't allow the two to be separate just yet. So here he barely stood, subjected to severe analysis paralysis, while everyone else actually did something. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood. Chomp: Tokomon puts those chompers to good use by rending into flesh and tightly clamping down. He can then lock his jaw closed, making it difficult to pry the mouth open again, making it simply easier to pull him off with the flesh attached.

At first Bors hoped that the strange Gesmon looking thing wouldn't chase them when he didn't hear any sort of bellow or noises that suggested it was approaching. However, that hope was quickly dashed when he glanced over his shoulder and saw that it had launched itself at him, two of the tentacles reaching out to swat at his passengers. The, the little brave fool, leap towards one of the tentacles, clamping down and holding onto it for dear life. That didn't stop the second tentacle however, which, while intending to hit David, struck Bors as well, sending both him and David to the ground.
Scrambling back onto his feet, Bors looked around in a panic. "DAVID!" He shouted, fearing the worst. He then saw him off to his side, simply standing there and staring, doing nothing. He then looked down at the sand, hands tightening into fists, eyes clamped shut, teeth grinding together, anger towards himself rising. What have I done? Because of me, David and his partner are going to be killed.....unless...
In the real world he shook his head vigorously. NO! No, I promised myself I'd never do that again, not after what happened last time!
Suddenly, another voice spoke in his head, sounding just like himself. But if you don't do something, that Gesomon is going to kill your friend and his digimon. Can you live with yourself if that happens?
His original voice spoke up again. It's too risky! Even if I do stop that thing, what's to stop me from attacking David and his partner afterwards? No, just no, I can't...I can't... ...Do you remember what she said after it happened? The voice changed, taking on a younger, female voice. 'Bors, I know you didn't mean to hurt me and the others, and I know you're really upset about it. But even when you were like that I think deep down you were still the same Bors, and I bet if you try really hard, you can keep yourself from hurting us. So don't be scared to digivolve, cause I bet you'll be in control next time.'
Bors's thoughts fell silent after this, the large rookie looking to David, then to the Tokomon clamped onto the squid creature's tentacle.
Well? Clocks ticking, that thing isn't gonna wait around all day.
Bors's pupils suddenly turned to slits, his head thrown back as he let out a mighty roar as red energy erupted from his form and kicked up a cloud of sand. Several moments later a large red form slowly stomped out of the cloud, much closer in appearance to a Tyrannosaurus, yet several differences being noticed. It's arms were much longer, with a pair of fingers and a thumb. Running down it's back was a row of green spikes, looking as if they were almost glowing with energy. Rather then a horizontal posture, it's posture was angled, neither completely vertical or horizontal.
The Tyrannomon X slowly turned it's head, staring down at David. For several moments he stared, before a deep yet familiar voice, Bors's voice, spoke. "You are...so much smaller now." He then turned his head back to look at the squid creature. His lips curled, revealing numerous sharp teeth, his pupils turn to slits, a low hiss heard coming from him. There was only one thought in his mind as he laid eyes on the Squid creature. KILL. He then let out a thunderous roar that lasted for several moments, challenging the squid creature.

Prey... its prey has launched off... one chomping on its tentacles but... this amount of pain probably would not be a problem. No, it will probably fell off to the ground soon. Its toxic nature probably would incapacitate this small Digimon soon. Only gibberish came out from its mouth as it swats its tentacle away, trying to whisk off the Tokomon. But this... this.... opponent in front of it...
How would it feel? Scared? Ready to fight...? A deep rumble came from its mouth... at first it sounded like a gurgle.. yes, at first... its body wriggled, wriggled and wriggled.. It shook terribly like something shocked it. Is it afraid?
"..Gu...gue... gueh..."
Nay.
"GUEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!"
The guttural sound was those of a laughter. Euphoria? Something else? None of those mattered. It suddenly jumped to the shore, where the water met. Its body suddenly absorbed the seawater, and now rejuvenated somewhat. The Gesomon launched its tentacles at Bors, the needles shot out like taser chip. What would it do? That's to be decided soon.

Perhaps biting into the weird Gesomon wasn't the best idea. In all fairness, it was hardly an idea at all. Tokomon's brain didn't really want to take that action, but his body disagreed, as it moved on its own to protect his partner. He didn't regret it, though, and would willingly do it again given the opportunity.
With his jaw locked in place, the miasmic essence of the Gesomon began to seep into Tokomon. It choked him. Consumed him. Overwrote him. Yes, even as he felt the poison take hold and weaken him, it was doing something even more disastrous. He felt part of himself slipping away as parts of his foe injected themselves into his code. Within moments, the same poison coursed through Tokomon, and emanated from him. Part of him was now not him, and part of definitely-him was now gone. This whole situation is gross, he thought, slowly drifting away mentally.
As his eyes drooped down, tired from the infections miasma, Tokomon got a good look at Bors as he evolved. Good. A real fight could begin. But his current position firmly attached to the squid digimon would likely be detrimental and possibly prevent Bors from even attacking full force. With what is likely part of the last vestiges of fortitude left within him, Tokomon waited until his foe flung a tentacle again before unhinging his jaw. The resulting kinetic force sent him flying towards David, who caught him in his arms.
As for David himself, the sharp blow to his chest by his partner impacting it had done wonders to shake him of his indecisiveness. He looked towards Bors who, large before, now towered above the child like the monster that he was. "N-" On second thought, being literal right now and proffering explanation probably wasn't the best thing to do. "Yeah."
David's left foot took a half step backward, pivoted in the opposite direction as if turning around to leave. Yet one step is all that he made it. The rest of his body didn't even pivot at the waist. He still had his sights locked onto the battle that was to emerge before them. Was Bors a match for this thing? Could David escape now if he wanted? And even if he could, would it be the right thing to do? For now, he would watch and wait, half poised to just turn and run towards the resort should the need arise. Once Bors had finished his roar he watched as the Tokomon released it's hold on the squid's tentacle, flying through the air and landing in David's arms. Good, that is one less thing to worry about. His attention then turned back to the large squid creature, who's body began to shake. Was it Scared? If it was then all the better, would make it easier for Bors to kill it. However, the creature then began to make a strange guttural sound, which seemed to be laughter. So you aren't scared, hmph, perhaps this will be enjoyable.
Noticing movement out of the corner of his eye, Bors looked back down at David, noticing that the young human had only taken a step in the opposite direction before freezing up again. Was he hoping to watch? With an irritated growl, Bors spoke once more "If you are going to watch then get to a safe distance, I'm not going to play babysitter and fighter at the same time."
Suddenly hearing a loud splash, causing him to turn his head back to where the squid was, where he could see it had now moved to the water and now looked slightly rejuvenated. Almost immediately afterwards the squid creature had launched it's tentacles at him, the needles firing from them. With a jump he rolled to the left, avoiding most of the needles, though several grazed an arm, leg, and part of his tail, and a few managed to strike his body and stick.
One thing he noticed immediately was how something felt like it was overwriting a part of his data, followed by noticing how he wasn't getting stronger after taking damage. Bastard has a skill that overwrites abilities huh? Fine, I don't need that to kill it anyway. As he rose back up Bors lifted his head skyward and took a deep breath, he then threw his head forward and opened his mouth, launching a large ball of fire at the Squid.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Combat Passive: Rage!!! (passive, overwritten): When struck several times Bors enters a rage state, increasing his strength, speed, and endurance. In this state he becomes more reckless and has a harder time differentiating friend and foe. This lasts for three turns and requires a 3 turn cooldown before activating again.
Action: Fire breath: Launches a large fireball at his enemies, burning anything in it’s path.

Oh, it hits huh. The Gesomon thought that the Digimon would avoid all of it. It suddenly grinned with anticipation. The pest on his arm no longer can disrupt him. The human is not even a worthy target. Why does it does not run away like the rest? Does it feel fear? Does it feel scared until it can no longer move? No matter. What matter is this strange species of Tyrannomon in front of it.
It advanced, despite how menacing is this monster in front of it. Once the needle sticks, there will be pain following. The Tyranomon shot out a fireball... but it's at that time that the effect kicked in. The ball of flame... turned into ball of poison. What normally would char the Gesomon enough for it to turn from purple to red has instead splashed at it... and...
...It keep advancing.
It's not that it's not damaged... but it's seem as if it have immunity against poison... And this is when its grin grows wider. It suddenly belched something out. It spreads quickly to 50 meter radius around it. Ink? Poison? Nay... it's something even worse. Conductive field of ink. Electricity current zaps around it. It would cut speed of anyone inside by 50% while at the same time giving them minor damage if they doesn't exit the field... now, what would Bors do?
ExD Gesomon
Combat Passive: ExD Nature: Poison: All of this Digimon’s skills become poison based, thus poisoning the enemy, and it also poisoned as status effect. Its health drained by minor amount per turn. All poison based attack is 20% more damaging
Antitoxin: This Digimon is unable to be damaged by DoT of Poison type. This Digimon’s resistance to poison type attack is half as damaging
Action: Noxious Field: ExD Gesomon shot out ink field on size of 50m radius that damages whoever is inside it with electric current beside the user while also lowering their speed by 50%. Three turns cooldown three turns duration.

Run. Flee. Abscond. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE. Every single sign in the world told David that this wasn't the place for him to be at this moment, from the actual nonsensical situation unfolding in front of him to the envenomed partner laying barely conscious in his arms. And yet it was only Bors' words that finally spurred him to action. With a nod, he continued the action that had been interrupted by anxiety as the boy finished pivoting and bolted off, making a bee line for the resort that apparently held the key to getting back home.
Bors would be fine, right? Surely dinosaur outranks squid. David, without stopping, turned and looked back over his shoulder in time to see Bors launch a massive fireball from its mouth. Yes, he was now confident that Bors would succeed and didn't need to continue watching. The boy turned back forward before he could see that the projectile had little to no effect at all.
David's little legs couldn't carry him very far very fast, so when Gesomon vomited out a field of viscous black, it quickly spread and caught up to him. The sudden sensation of something akin to molasses sweeping over his feet, combined with the mild electric shock that followed, tripped up the small boy and caused him to fall forward. With a surprising amount of grace, David managed to land on his elbows, so as to neither drop Tokomon, nor let him touch the ink.
He had to stop for a moment. A small grunt escaped from between tightly clenched teeth as he desperately tried to hold himself together. When you fell, you can't just cry. You have to get up and keep going forward. Steeling himself through the pain, David moved forward, crawling and his legs and elbows. He was only a couple of feet away from the edge of the ink's radius when hit, so it shouldn't be too long before his sheer determination took him out of range.
Assuming that the Gesomon focused entirely upon Bors, David would pick himself up after exiting the inky muck and keep running until he reached the inside of the resort, where he could hop on a trailmon and get the heck out of this battlefield.
