Shortly after firing off the ball of fire, Bors began to note the stinging pain from the previous attack. While there was stinging on parts of his arm, leg, and tail, most of the pain was coming from the few needles that had manage to hit and stick to him. At this he growl of anger. Don't let it distract, ignore it, it can be dealt with later. He thought to himself. Focusing his attention on the Gesomon, his eyes widen slightly when he sees the ball of fire turn into a large ball of gunk before it struck the squid, which seemed to take some damage but not a whole lot. This thing was clearly going to be a bigger pain in the ass then he originally thought.
It was at this point he noticed David was finally making a run for it towards the resort. While he was mainly relieved that David was probably going to try to get on a trailmon to flee, the other part of him felt somewhat hurt at being abandoned by the child. Don't be foolish, him staying here is too dangerous and it makes my job more difficult. He berated himself in his thought. Turning back to the Gesomon, he let out a roar before charging towards the Squid. If he couldn't use his abilities effectively against this creature, then he'd simply have to try and defeat it through close quarter combat.
As he charged the Gesomon he noticed as the thing began to expand slightly before suddenly a pool of gunk began to ooze forth from it, expanding out around it. Once he took a step in the gunk he realized what it was as what felt like numerous needles were pricking the bottom of his feet as he charged, not only that but he was moving a lot slower now as well. However, he ignored the pain for now and kept pushing forward. Glancing off to the side once more, he saw as David ran through the doorway, seemingly to safety. Good. Focusing on the Gesomon once more he let out a roar as he leaped into the air, twisting his body to the side and trying to slam his tail into his opponent, where he hoped the sharp spikes running down his tail would stab into the squid and significantly hurt it.
