[PotT 1] The Age of Erika!
|
Post by Erika on Jun 5, 2019 3:42:00 GMT
This short trip had probably been enough for everyone to understand what kind of person their captain was. For Erika, their crewmates were the most important thing in the world, and that much should be clear by now. The girl just grinned at all of the comments coming from her crew. Apparently, they were okay with her being this way. Which was ultimately a good thing, considering she highly doubted she could change that way of being. After all, it was all part of what that digimon taught her. But all of those stories were meant to be told another day! Right now, the Pirates of the Treasure walked through the docks and away of their ship, finally having landed in Uka Island. Erika glanced at Koharu for a second, while she offered the map. “Huh. Me?” She showed a bit of an embarrassed expression, scratching the back of her head. “N-No, please. I’m not very good at keeping stuff with me, I usually drop them or lose them somewhere! Please keep that. After all, you’re our sailing master, so you are the one who we will be trusting with our maps and charts.” That made sense, right? Regarding the key, Fuu seemed to be the one in charge of keeping it. “Well… Everyone is good at something.” She noted, looking at both the Ryudamon and the Dorumon while they kept walking. “Just like you can keep items, your sister can spit swords! That makes each and every one of us very valuable, I think!” Was that lesson necessary? Probably not. Not like she was scolding them or anything, just seemed like a truth that fit the situation. “Well, we should stick together until we reach the town. Once we’re there, we’ll decide on what to do.” The Captain suggestion was somewhat logical. No point in splitting until they actually knew their possible choices. Naturally, it would not take them long to finally get to the town in the middle of Uka Island. It was a very small, homely community. Compared to some of the places Erika had been in, this particular town had a modern vibe. The houses and buildings were not made of stone or wood, but actual concrete. Different types of buildings, sidewalks, and even utility poles showed that this was a place somewhat akin to a modern city, at least. It was worth noticing the streets did not seem too crowded. They were rather… lonely. Not too long after actually entering the town, the group would find a sign with a map. It showed the words ‘Uka Town’ engraved on top. “This seems to be a map of this town. Let’s see…”
Right below the map, a short legend could be found. Codes: SGN = Sign (You are right here) NVY = Navy Quarters RES = Residential District CID = [The inscription seems to be a bit worn out, it is impossible to read] ATM = The Aftermath OFF = Administration Offices RLB = Uka Island Research Lab SLF = Silver Forest KKI = UkaKaka Inn A tilt of her head accompanied Erika's words. "There is no further explanation on any of the locations." Then, her index finger pointed at one of the buildings on the map, specifically the blue with the NVY code. "I didn't know the Digimon Navy had installed quarters here, though. We should move carefully."Other than that, the captain could not really provide further insight regarding the places show in there. Obviously, there was one that they already knew of, thanks to that card Koharu had found inside the book: The Aftermath. Taking some steps away from the sign and then turning to face her crew, she directed her next words to all of them. "If we are splitting, I want us to do it in two teams. No more than that." She made a gesture with two of her fingers. "Now that we know the navy is in here, I think if we split into many little groups, it could be dangerous. And I'm not taking any risks." She didn't seem willing to let her arm be twisted in that decision. However... "Regarding where we should go... well, of course, the Aftermath is a valid choice. According to that newspaper article, Elecmon was also a scientist, so I think the Research Lab might be the place where he used to work at." That conclusion was honestly not hard to reach. "But... maybe we should inspect his house before going there? There are also some other places that look interesting. Ugh... So many possible choices! I feel there might be a clue anywhere!" And, as expected, she was not making those decisions. "Please, you decide! Once we have settled to what places we're going, I will form the groups. Of course, I can also take suggestions on that, in case any of you would like to go to a place in specific."Seemed like a good deal. Now... From all of those places, what were the two locations the Pirates of the Treasure would choose to investigate first? Inventory -How to read and draw nautical charts. Beginners' Edition. (Book) [Koharu] -'The Aftermath' card. (Crucial item) [Koharu] -Docks Key. (Key) [Fuu]

"Oy oy, if we're near the sign then don't we should be more prudent than to hang here?" Warg immediately commented. "Anego, just take picture of this for now and skedaddle somewhere else---"
"Actually, wait. Do the Navy know that we're working with Captain? Couldn't we pass for tourist or something?" Koharu asked.
"In that case, most likely we'll need to shed that excessive amount of clothes. The captain probably already well known in their looks, so I think we can give up on hiding the captain, but in our case... we can totally hide ourselves as tourist..."
"...I think our path is clear then," Kon-chan answered. "Captain, I think for the onlooker you could pass as partner of Bu and Fuu. Meanwhile, I think me, Warg and Koharu will acts as tourists. We'll go to the inn and ask around if there is anything we can learn about Digimon Navy and whatever is in here. People might have no idea, but Koharu was the subleader of PROFIT, a huge business conglomerate. If that name still hold something, her being here in tourism island is a given thing."
"But I lost my memories though..." Koharu protested
"Don't worry about that, we can put that in our narrative if we absolutely must. Either way, captain, knowing how strong is the navy's influence in this place is crucial in my opinion. Inn probably have the biggest information. I'll leave it to you what do you want to check, but I think we can pull this off, inn owners to inn owner..."
"We'll definitely ask around about this one too," Warg pointed at the CID building. "Either way, we can keep our communication private with D-Nexus. Bu and Fuu should have them, and they can immediately contact us in case of emergency."

The captain had a point, everyone had their own uses somewhere and somehow, the twins regarded that with a nod of their heads. Nonetheless, the twins followed the crew right to the town on Uka Island, making sure to note their surroundings on the way to and within the town.
Fuu especially made sure to take note of the map, as well as the legend. Shockingly enough, Bu did the same. "There really isn't...Guess we'll have to take guesses and work from there, eh?" Bu noted. "Maybe this island can serve as an outpost for the Navy..."
...Both the twins got an inkling of something that they'd rather not suggest yet. Either way, Fuu had an idea on where to go. "I feel like someone should go ask around about Elecmon at the Aftermath. Maybe even inquire around the research lab. Though...If we're taking Erika with us...We should avoid the navy..."
The twins were hard at work and thinking quite a bit!

As she listened closely to her crewmates comments, Erika followed suit with a couple of nods.
“Yes. I am a wanted criminal, but you’re not. Don’t worry, they have no reason to go after you unless they see you with me.” There was, however, something very important to clear out about that. “And even then, even if the Navy is pretty interested in me, I’ve only committed one ‘crime’” She made sure to use her fingers in the form of quoting marks to punctuate that sentence. “So I am pretty sure it’ll be hard for them to recognize me, unless I interact with one of them too much. Doesn’t mean we don’t have to be careful, but I thought it was important to make that clear.” Okay, that meant things weren’t so bad.
“I don’t know if I’m well-known in these looks but…” After looking rather pensive for a couple of seconds, Erika shook her head. “… I’m definitely not taking off my pirate clothes! No way!” Did not seem like she could change her mind about that.
And speaking of changing her mind… yes, she listened to all of her crewmates’ suggestions, and they all seemed to make sense, except for one thing.
“Koharu was the one who read Elecmon’s book. That means she has to be on the team that is going to either the Aftermath or the Research Lab. I’m sorry, but if there is a team going to either of those places, Koharu not being there makes absolutely no sense to me.” And her mind was set on that, even if she was using words that sounded too elaborated for her usual vocabulary. Well, she had warned them, they were picking the locations, and she was putting the teams together. That was the deal all along. So…
“Since Bu is good at drinking, she should go to The Aftermath too, along Koharu.” Did that even make sense? Well, it was the captain’s logic working! She turned to Bu’s sister, with a tender smile. “Fuu, would you like to go with your sister, or do you prefer going to the inn with me?”
They were almost done here and the scenario was clear.
Team number one was going to the inn, Erika was in that one, and she needed two more members. Team number two was going to the Aftermath, Koharu and Bu were in that one, they needed one more member.
Warg, Kon, and Fuu had to decide which team they were joining.
Once that was settled, they would get to work.

"I'm sorry captain, but frankly separating us... that's a risky move," Kon-chan protested. "We're twins, and we cannot evolve with out our partner Koharu. If we were to split, that means one twin will be in deeper trouble because they can't evolve. I think the Bu and Fuu works the same somehow."
"I have to concur... I understand there's a merit in that arrangement, but our arrangement is based on safety of our partner..." Warg immediately added. "...I want to avoid battles too, but in case of battles... it might be best for the twins to be together."
Limitations are presented... and Koharu is inclined to agree with her partners, but...
"...Just in case, if there is one of you who want to come with me, who would you think would be better suited for the Aftermath?"
"Koharu, what are you saying?" Kon-chan tried to rebuke her, but the girl is firm.
"In case of fight does indeed break out between us and Navy, we might have better chance to keep our cards close in case of second encounter. Do you get what I mean? They might think me as a single partnered human and Bu is a Solo Digimon or something..."
"...Well you got a point," Warg hummed begrudgingly.
"...But at the same time it wouldn't make sense for Fuu to come with me and Bu. That's like gutting our team's power. At least with either Kon-chan or Warg with me, I can evolve one of them in case of emergency. So, among you two, who's coming with me?"
Kon-chan looking unsatisfied still, but she looked at Warg. In danger, Warg's ability to let them escape easier is far more useful than Kon-chan's more direct-engaging skills. Warg, understanding what she meant nodded.
"I'll go with you then, Anego." Warg answered.
"Then I'll go with the Captain," Kon-chan concluded. "Hand me over the comm-link please."
Koharu smiled and nodded. She rummaged her pocket for the comm-link device, which looked like a simple communication device. "Sorry that you guys have to put up with my selfishness, Kon-chan, Warg."
"I'm used to it," Kon-chan dismissed. "I'm not your partner for fifteen years for nothing. You better be careful, Koharu."
And with that, the girl stored some of her pirate clothes back to her infini-store, looking more to a sailor than a pirate now. However, before she heads to the aftermath, she tried hard remembering the phrases first. Opening the book in that place would be too conspicuous... Might as well as remember it.
"...By the way, Captain, I'm interested to know what crime are you talking of," Kon-chan commented. "Stole something from them?"

There really wasn't a way to plan this out without splitting some twins up, something that felt like an inherent disadvantage to having a crew comprised of three fourths twins. The captain weighed in on how she thought they should split up, and it made sense, but they needed to divide up in a manner that halved their effectiveness the least.
"I'll go with the captain, then. It's...not too bad if you can evolve Warg, Koharu. Bu and I can't evolve past Rookie anyways, so it wouldn't make too much of a difference." Fuu decided, taking her place by Erika's side. Bu, meanwhile, puffed her cheeks! "I'm not -just- good at drinking! I'm a capable swordswoman! A real spitfire! I can tear the bar up faster than you can say "fetch me the spirytus, Kon-chan!" ...That being said I...uh. Hope this goes smoothly. I didn't even know the Digital World had a navy so it's...kinda scary to be where they might be at..."
"...Just keep calm and you'll be fine. We're ready when you are, Captain." Fuu nodded.

Maybe it was not something that she showed frequently, but Erika seemed to be aware that she was actually a bit of a hothead. “I know this is not something I should say, of all people, but… We really should not engage in any combat. That’s why I’m not worried about splitting the twins. As much as I would like to see all of you in action… I feel this is not a day to fight.” Hopefully, they could actually avoid fighting at all.
Now that Warg, Kon, and Fuu had made their decision, both teams would part ways!
Kon, Fuu and the Captain walked through town. Erika did not seem too worried about the navy being around. Her hands on her pocket, she leaned her head back to answer Kon’s question. “You actually guessed correctly.” Her eyes wide open, she answered. “Do I look that much like a thief?” The pirate eyes went to the sky as she mused about this. “Anyways… Yes! I stole something from them.” Almost as if she needed this answer before proceeding with her explanation, Erika threw a question at the pair.
“Tell me, did any of you know anything about the Astrivia deal before I told you about it when we met in Whitewater?” She asked. “Or you hadn’t even heard of it until I told you the story?”
Right after the group had given their answer, their small chat would be interrupted by the sight of a silver building. Its whole layout looked very… technologic. Almost as if it was unfitting with the rest of town. “This is the CID building, isn’t it?” The whole environment was very silent. The door and every window seemed to be well-closed, although the building itself did not seem abandoned.
“I guess it won’t be easy to enter this place.” Turning her head to her right, a block away from their current location, Erika noticed an orange building, that looked more like a house. Definitely a style more traditional than the building they had right in front of them and that fir better with the layout of the rest of Uka Town. “That must be the Kikiriki Inn, right?” That wasn’t… quite its name.
“Should we investigate around the CID first or… should we go straight to the inn?” Erika asked. It was true they didn’t have much time, but maybe it was worth checking out this place. They couldn’t split more, that much was clear. In case they decided to investigate this place further, what should they do, considering everything seemed well shut?
Maybe they should just head to the inn, then?
Kon and Fuu should help her decide this.
The trip to The Aftermath would prove to be rather uneventful. A purple hut with a metallic roof announced they had arrived. This was too similar to the building in the doodle of that map they saw, this had to be the place they were looking for.
Upon entering, they would notice this was, no doubt, a bar. A very lonely, dirty and poorly illuminated bar, for that matter. A couple of digimon seemed to have passed out on some tables, they were fast asleep. A BlackGatomon could be found behind a very lonely counter. It seemed like she wasn't too busy. The cat seemed to be drawing something on the wall with her claws. Was that a… teddy bear? Maybe she liked cute things. Was she… bored?
Trying to clean one of the tables, a Guilmon could be found. Did he work there? One could only assume. Maybe it was worth trying to talk to him.
The only other living being around the establishment was a digimon drinking beer, actually sitting on top of a table by a corner of the place. That particular corner lacked even more illumination than the rest of the bar so it was kind of hard to decry what kind of digimon it was. Further examination would reveal she was some sort of... Tinkermon. The clothes she was wearing were definitely different from your average fairy digimon. She had a red and black bandana tied to her head, a small pirate hat above it. She was also wearing some worn-out blue jeans and a red tank top. Definitely, a whole other type of Tinkermon.
Out of these three, who should the group approach for questioning? They should choose wisely. Not only was it important to go to the element where they could get the most useful information, but time was of the essence, too.

Kon-chan just stared at Erika at the question, looking her up and down, like asking 'really?'. As much as she wanted to say something sassy, this girl is a bit too precious for her sharp tongue, so she instead opted the other option. "Ahem, ma'am, you're a pirate." she answered. "What would pirate do? Let's sing with me I guess. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me, we pillage and we plunder-- actually, nevermind, that's a bad idea."
...Did she somehow got funnier without her partner around? Ye lord, the idiocy from her partner and brother are infectious! Or maybe she's just panicking inside because it's the first time she's separated from Koharu.. ahhh, dangit....
"No, not really. KIZNA indeed specializes in ancient histories, but even then we have our own share of projects and we cannot really spare a lot of personnel unless we have solid plan of how to tackle our own projects. Koharu was actually looking at Sunken Elysium project when she saw your ads for crew.... it was a brave move honestly."
CID building huh.... Come to think of it, the captain said to not separate, so she guess she can't really stand here while Fuu and Captain asking around for stuff... Then again, she guess it's best for being subtle, and trying to lockpick doesn't seem to be the best way to do it.
"...Let's just go to the inn and ask about the building I think.... Also the name on the board is Uka Kaka Inn... why it's Kiri Kiri Inn?"
"...Oy, drinking already this early..." Warg muttered, not quite impressed with how it looks.
"Now, now, Warg... Let's see..."
She tried to remember the passage again..
Look behind the sunset. Forget about the tortoise, feed the bird three times, pat the dog once and make sure the cat is looking at the sky.
...make sure the cat is looking at the sky? The cat couldn't be the Black Tailmon doesn't it?
"...Ummmm..." Koharu typed in her D-Nexus quickly. It's mostly just repeat of the secret passage and showed it to Bu and Warg while signing at them to stay silent.
Koharu's typed message: Do you think the cat refers to that Black Tailmon? Should we approach her and try to see where the sunset located? It could be something else too.

Thank the Sovereign that they weren't here to fight. That actually eased up a great deal of the twins' worries. With that aside, the crew parted ways for the moment. Fuu gave the captain a good lookover, and nodded. "Unfortunately so. That's kind of what dressing like a pirate will do for first impressions. It's okay, though. I don't think you're a thief." The Dorumon added, quietly. She thought for a moment, before shaking her head. "No, I'll admit that I've...really only heard the name in passing before."
When they got to the first crossroads since they split up, Fuu nodded in agreement towards Koharu. "Yes, let's go to the inn. Maybe they rebranded recently and haven't updated the map?" Bu gave a cautionary stare around the bar. She had been to one before, hell, she had worked for one before she joined KIZNA. So...This? This looked really shady to her. Then she looked to Kon-chan's D-Nexus.
Bu offered a nod. Koharu was the one who read the book, not her, so she had to have the best ideas on how to approach this. "Maybe. We don't know unless we try." She whispered. Deathly low.

Apparently, and for some odd reason, it was hard for Erika to connect in her head the concept of Pirate with the idea of someone who stole stuff. She knew those could be related more often than not, but she did not immediately think of stealing as something utterly pertinent to being a pirate. Well, that didn’t matter right now. The group had decided they should move to the inn. Which unavoidably brought Kon to question Erika’s replica of the name of their destination. “I…!” The pirate made a pause while she blushed a little. “… I am bad with names, okay? It sounded like Kikiriki Inn!” She hissed, puffing her cheeks while she walked backward, in order to properly look at her crewmates. Then, Erika decided to continue that comment that had been interrupted by them reaching the previous location, now that an answer had been provided. “So you didn’t know anything about Astrivia before meeting me…” Placing her index finger over her lower lip, Erika mused about this. “Okay. You remember how I mentioned years ago that Treasure Hunter who claimed to have found Astrivia sent a piece of the city to the king of Dapo Island, right? That’s the item the ISR was able to relate to the technology that was used to send the distress signal they later decrypted.”
So far, the Captain seemed to be doing a quick recap of the background they needed to know about. How was this related to what she stole, though? That conversation should continue later because they were now in front of the Uka Kaka Inn! “This is it. Let’s go inside!”Unlike the Aftermath, UkaKaka Inn was actually a pretty clean, well-organized place. Everything seemed to be in order. Clean tablecloths on every table, a pretty counter, and a well-illuminated establishment, overall. Given the hour, it still wasn’t quite full, but it definitely had some clients around. Different types of digimon were drinking, eating or simply chatting, sitting at the different tables. A very lively environment. Good. It should be easier to work here. “I’ll try to get some information from the customers. Let’s see what I can find.” Winking at Fuu and Kon, Erika took some steps away from them, approaching the group of tables. “Don’t go too far from me without giving me a heads-up. It’s important we can always see each other.” She added before departing. With this, the duo of digimon was left with the most obvious option… the main counter. Behind it, a Fugamon could be found, cleaning some glasses. While the duo approached, they would notice the ogre was actually talking to a Gabumon who was also behind the counter. While they walked closer, they could actually listen to part of what the Fugamon was saying. “I’m just waiting for the two employees the guys from the Administration Offices said they would send to clean the upper rooms. I’ll leave you in charge of the counter once those two arrive, okay?” The voice of the Gabumon was definitely not so loud, so it was impossible to determine what he was saying. Then, the Fugamon replied. “No, I have no idea of how they look. They just said they would send two digimon.”Once the pair was finally at the counter, the fanged digimon would turn his head towards them. “Hey there. Welcome to the UkaKaka Inn. How can I help you?”
At the Aftermath, things were about to get... Huh. Weird. Let's call it weird. Once the group decided they wanted to talk to the cat and approached the counter, they would notice the BlackGatomon was actually… changing shape. Was she… devolving? By the time they got to the bar, what was standing at the counter was a Black Plotmon. A digimon that definitely was not strange to some of the members of this trio. “A lot better.” The little dog muttered, before turning her head at the newcomers. “Hi, there…! Welcome to the Aftermath.” She welcomed the group in a way that definitely did not match the looks of this place. Her voice was sweet, feminine. “My name is Kyo. And it’s my pleasure to…” “No, it’s not.” A voice could be heard behind the counter, although neither of the Pirates of the Treasure could actually see who was speaking. To this, the Black Plotmon only cleared her throat, showing a somewhat annoyed expression, before changing that for a welcoming countenance again. “As I was saying… It is my pleasure to welcome you. My name is Kyo and…” “No, it is NOT.” An emphasis was put in the last word this time. “Ugh. Would you just shut up!?” Breaking her nice attitude, the Black Plotmon raised her voice, now facing someone behind the counter. From where they were standing, the group would hear someone pulling from a chair, dragging it over the wooden floor. Okay, whoever was behind the counter was using a platform to be able to be at the ‘height’ of the conversation. That made sense. “Don’t listen to her!” Now that they were able to listen to this voice properly, they would notice the voice of this being was… exactly the same as the Black Plotmon's. “She is NOT Kyo! I am!” As she got on top of the stool, the group was able to see… A little girl. A human girl! Not any human girl, though… Her looks were… definitely… huh. Did she look… familiar to someone in the group? It was likely. Or maybe they had… forgotten? “That’s so not true! Iam Kyo!” The canine replied. Now, the little girl turned towards the digimon. “Ugh. You are NOT! Don’t make me call Yuu-ottousan to settle this!” Then, she faced the group again. This time looking specifically at Koharu, puffing her cheeks. “Haru-chan! Tell her I’m the real Kyo!”What…? ... … What was going on?

"Well, that explains it somewhat, but even then, what's the relation with the item that you stole? Is it related to the item me and Bu fixed? Does that coordinate is the thing we have to input to the machine or something like that?" Kon-chan asked. Then again she guess that there are something deeper than just that. If Astrivia indeed could be found that easily then what's the need of the Elecmon?
Either way they arrived. Time to losen up a bit. Kon-chan made sure to dismiss any equipment that would looks like she's fight ready. That won't do if they want to be pacifist.
"Sounds good... don't forget to ask about the CID building if you can, I'm going to talk to the receptionist, I think."
Hmmm...? What's this talk? Administrative office? Kon-chan looked at Fuu meaningfully... there are two of them, and apparently they're talking something about upper floor. Should they risk it? Kon-chan signed to Fuu in a way that says 'I'm leaving it to you to decide' whether they should pretend to to be the ones from administrative office, or if they should be acting like tourists they are.
...It's not going well in the bar meanwhile. Eh? Why is she devolving? Why isn't she a cat anymore? There are too many question marks, but at first Koharu was going to proceed--until somehow... what? What? What's going on? She looked toward Bu and Warg like a lost child, but Warg instead affixed his eyes on the cat now dog. Honestly? There are too much headache inducing conflict here. What's even going on?
"Haru...-chan...?"
That word was one that sent Koharu to have a massive headache, enough to send her looking so unbalanced as she tried to steady herself up. But even then, the pain was almost like a migraine. She fell to the hard, dirty floor on her knees, heaved, but thankfully not yet vomited from the stress.
"Anego!"
"It's... I'm... fi...."
"No, you're not fine... er... Leave this to me for the meantime, alright?"
Warg looked at the two Kyos... and he felt that both of them are 'Kyo's... only from different places.
"...Say, who was one of you that was ex-pirate that exploded a city? Would that be you?" Warg pointed at the Black Plotmon. "...And... what year would it be this year in human world, Kyo-chan?" he asked the human-looking Kyo.

"...Don't worry about it, Captain." Fuu stated. It had really felt like the captain had made a rather honest mistake, and those...well, those can be excused from time to time, no? She listened attentively to what the captain would tell them regarding the item, but it felt...inconclusive. Was there more? Fuu's deduction skills led her to believe that there was. They'd likely continue this later.
Fuu proceeded into the inn with her teammates, before getting a good look around the place. As Erika had gone to go talk to the customers, that left her and Kon-chan to ask the main counter the most obvious of questions. She nodded to Kon-chan, before she stepped up to the counter, waiting for them to finish their conversation before she cleared her throat. "Excuse me, um, my friend and I have some questions regarding this island..." Bu tilted her head at what it was she saw. The BlackGatomon appeared to devolve into a similarly colored Plotmon. Who's name was Kyo. Who...kept being interrupted. Repeatedly.
"That's real rude..." Bu murmured as the source of the voice got on the stool. A young human! Huh...They're...both Kyo?
"Who...What?" Bu had no clue who these were, so she immediately turned towards Warg and Koharu. "I need an explanation and I need it right goddamn now or so help me Sovereign, I'm gonna bust out my booze before 5 pm today to deal with this headache. They're both named Kyo and...one blew a city up? What?"
She was confused. Very, very confused.

In the end, Fuu and Kon had decided to take the passive approach, not risking it by lying to the Fugamon. Was that the best course of action? It was probably the safest. No need to get in trouble if they could just ask for some information. Luckily, the ogre seemed willing to at least talk to them, even if they were not the duo he was waiting for.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you girls around here.” He folded his arms, taking a good look at the two of them. How was he able to tell Kon-chan was a female? Maybe the way she walked?
“We are definitely getting a lot of tourists lately. It’s like suddenly everyone cares about our island.” Now that they were closer, they could actually listen to the Gabumon behind the counter speaking. Unlike his boss, he had a sweet, young voice.
“I guess we’ll just have to get used to getting a lot of new people around here.” The innkeeper looked at his employee for a second. Then, he took some of the glasses he had just cleaned and started pouring some white liquor on them, sliding them through the counter towards the pirates. “If you drink three of those each, I will only charge you for one.”
If they agreed to have some of that, they would discover it was… quite tasty! It was even close to being addictive. Like they couldn’t help but ask for a second one.
“So, what do ya’ wanna' know?”
Apparently, the big guy answering their questions was conditioned by them actually being clients. That made sense, honestly.
“Is Haru-Chan okay?” Little girl Kyo took her index finger to her lower lip, looking fairly worried. The two beings seemed to have left their little arguing behind, presumably because of being preoccupied about Koharu’s condition.
Although not really startled by the question, Black Plotmon Kyo did seem to be a bit surprised at the term used by the dragon. “Well… I did enter the city in a battleship, so I guess you could call me a pirate. So yes! Although…" She made a pause while she seemed to be trying to remember something. "... you weren’t there!” The Black Plotmon ended up accusing Warg.
“H-Hey…! It was me who did all of that” The little girl immediately quipped
“It wasn’t.” The dog rolled her eyes, looking annoyed again.
Upon facing the question issued by Kon, the human Kyo seemed a tad confused. “The year… in Human World?” It was an… interesting question. Maybe the dragon was trying to prove something by issuing this inquiry? “That’s a weird thing to ask, Warg.” She tilted her head. “You haven’t been in the human world lately, I can tell?”
It was kind of a ‘What? You don’t know?’ answer. This Kyo seemed to be a lot more entertained by Bu’s question.
“…Booze?” She blinked twice. “Are you one of Haru-chan’s friends?” A smile was drawn on her face now. “Yes! I blew a city up, but it was mainly because of some people failing at the job they were supposed to do. One would think at least Ryouta, Nikumo and Haruto would do a better job…”
“You weren’t there!” The rookie insisted. “I can still get you a drink if you want.” She was looking at Bu now.

"Duh, of course," Kon-chan retorted to the Fugamon "We wouldn't question it if we're locale, you know? Howdy, my name is Konata. You can say that I'm a traveling inn connoisseur or something along that line. My line of job is however to promote destination in my tourism book you see..."
Are these lies? No, not quite. Kon-chan indeed work in that sort of field. She does indeed trying to improve Ys' hotel's quality, so she has been studying a lot of stuff regarding hotels and whatnot. She also thought promoting tourism would be a good front for this... and at the same time, it racks her money!
"You'll have to give me a lot of those, Sir," Kon-chan commented after taking a sip of the drink, then pays for it. "This one is delicious. Anyway, where are we? Oh right, I'd love to write about this island, but several parts interested me. You said that there are more tourists suddenly? What caused that? Also... uh... has the base of the Navy been here for some time already? It interested me somehow."
...Oi, this is getting too complicated. Warg starting to get headache. It's all matching with his data, but for some reason he wondered what makes these two could share some sort of memories... The 'you weren't there' sealed the fact that she does indeed know of this conversation... But even then... Why the other Kyo knows this?
"........................................"
It's getting a bit hard for Warg to know what's going on, but suddenly, Koharu stood up and pat both the dog and the girl on the head. "Now now... don't... fight... That's not nice..."
She's still in pain honestly, and it felt like even standing up felt like a completely bad idea. She however doesn't want to stay on that floor if she can help it... God...
"So er, Kyo and Kyo... did your data somehow got mixed? Kyo, can you turn off your holosuit after all?" Warg asked the little girl. "...As of what happened to Anego, let's just say she got amnesic... and I guess the sight of you two triggered a deep memory inside of her."

"Mmhmm, we're not really familiar with the area. At least, not as much as we want to be..." Fuu admitted, kind of meekly. "My name's Fuu. I'm...helping Konata with said job." She nodded, before looking at the drinks offered. Okay, she wasn't as much of a heavyweight as Bu was, but she did take a sip from the drink.
"Mmhmm, did the navy show up recently? That building looks kinda new." If anyone had information to share, it obviously had to be these guys. They wouldn't jobs at an inn without a knowledge of what's going on in the island, right? ...Yeah, Bu could really use a drink while she was trying to wrap her head around this. They were both the same person, right? Or were they...? What was wrong here?
These names were all foreign to her with the exception of Ryouta. "...I wasn't, no. I didn't even exist at that time. Whenever and wherever it may have been. Koharu's one of my friends, yes. Uh...A drink would be nice. I'm...trying to process things right now, admittedly." Bu got uncharacteristically serious. A little more like her sister.
Was this what happened when they were separated?
