[PotT 1] The Age of Erika!

Once Fuu had spit out that Metal Dash, Erika grabbed the ball in her hand and looked at it for a while. It was almost as if she was… analyzing its structure. From where she was standing, Fuu could feel some very strange energy coming out of her captain. What was that?
While she heard her crewmate speak, the pink-haired pirate just issued a single nod. She then looked at the crystal ceiling in the upper part of the Research Lab. She finally looked back at Fuu and issued her final order.
“Tell Kon-chan to look for the others. If they had run into who I think they did... they'll really need help.” There were two things to be noted at Erika’s eyes: One, complete determination, just like the one she showed when she welcomed them into the crew. Two, the inherent feeling that she was going to do something and care little about the consequences, just like when she decided to move that table into the deck of their ship. “Good luck, Fuu.” A smirk was drawn on her face before she turned to face the building.
With a leap, Erika jumped out of the bushes, running through the Research Lab’s main yard. “Hey, Navy soldiers!” She shouted, her arms folded into the haughtiest stance she could manage. All of the Hangyomons turned their faces towards the human, looking at her with a confused expression. “Do you know who I am?” She continued. “Treasure Hunter Erika! The woman who stole the Astrivia Sphere right in front of your eyes!”
After hearing these words, the mermen looked at each other, looking a bit incredulous. Could it be…?
“Take… this!” Winding up, Erika threw Fuu’s Metal Dash with all of her strength. The ball flew through the air in front of the incredulous looks of all of the guards, hitting the glass sphere that worked as the upper ceiling of the building. The sound of the crystal breaking combined with the explosion of the Metal Dash was almost deafening, and enough for all of the Hyagomon to start running behind the pirate. Of course, when they did, Erika had gained some meters of advantage. In a matter of seconds, there was not a single Hangyomon in the area.
It was Fuu’s time to move in.
While Kon spoke, Gabumon showed her a sincere smile, even if a bit coy. After a second or two of silence, he seemed to realize something very important. “I-I haven’t even asked your name. I’m Yiro. N-Nice to meet you.” The Gabumon introduced himself, finally revealing the name of the assistant of the inn.
Yiro nodded and filled Kon’s glass, taking his again, which was still at around half of its content. The horned digimon took a sip while he listened to the dragon. Then, he tackled her questions. “I’m sorry, that's something I don't have much information about. The building had been abandoned for years until the Navy arrived some days ago. They bought the building from the previous owner but… I haven’t seen any of them enter the place even once. Maybe they plan to use that later or… maybe they’re entering the place through somewhere else? I heard the CID building was where scientist conducted their investigation before the Research Lab was created.”
About the forest… Yiro seemed to have a bit more of information. “Silence Forest is where the harvesters around the island get most of our food that’s not fish. It is a very quiet place and I’ve heard some digimon go there to relax every now and then, although I’ve never gone myself. It is not a very popular place or somewhere townsfolks use to go to, but it’s been part of Uka Town for ages. Ugh, by the way… I recently noticed someone changed its name to ‘Silver Forest’ on the map of the town that can be found near the entrance. I wonder who might have done that, and why did they think that was a funny joke or something.”
When Kon leaned in to go for that kiss Yuro just froze. He got stiff like a rock and his face turned red like a tomato, him just waving his goodbyes at the soldier. When she was about to go through the main door, the Gabumon blurted out something with his eyes closed.
“I-I… I’d really like to see you again!”
That was so cute.
… Wait. What had Yiro say about the forest!? Its name was…!
… Maybe a certain group had to change their course right now!

"My name is Konata. Should the wind blow in favorable way let's meet again," Kon-chan told the Gabumon. Hmmm, should she gave her keepsake here? Kon-chan gave something that looked like a handkerchief. "Well, hold on to that. It's very important for me. I trust you'll do it til we meet again later, right? Yiro."
She quickly left the scene. Kon-chan often forgets that at times she also have her own personal D-Nexus on time like this. She immediately turned it on. "Right, Kon here. Don't worry, I heard the gist of it... well, the gist of it. Look, I'm going to speak precisely, but quickly. I don't want anyone on my ass so listen carefully... Place of silence that the guys over there talk about wasn't the CID building, It's the forest. Go there if you want to capture their ass. I know what the captain want, so I'm waiting on the forest myself. Bu, you might have to regroup with Fuu. I dunno, up to you. I feel it's best if one of us go for the captain. Keep her safe, you know? I'll handle the rest."
"You hear that, we're moving to different spots. Bu, your action is up to you now, but I'm heading to where Kon-chan is," Koharu told her. The research building is closer to CID, so they have to think whether to separate or go together. Regardless, just Fuu alone without Bu is dangerous, especially with Erika having pursuer on her tail. They must act quick, or this is not a journey to Astrivia, but a journey to the jail. They need their captain.

Fuu had to wait until Erika had acted to move in, and she kept her ear to her D-Nexus. "...It's the forest...?" She murmured. She sent another message to Kon to regroup with the others as well as one for Bu to stick with the group. It also served as an update of sorts. Once that was done, she tucked her device away and moved in. The Dorumon was swift when she put her mind to it, and she looked up to that lid. The Dorumon leapt up to try getting that lid loose and off of the side of the building, and if successful? She'd jump right back up to try climbing into the entrance that'd make! Bu looked to her own D-Nexus. "...Bad news, I can't quite regroup with Fuu when she's sneaking into a lab. Uh...She just told me to stick with you guys." As bad of an idea as this could be, Bu did need to trust her sister on this. She needed to have trust in the captain, too. The Ryudamon went to keep following Koharu and Warg to their destination!

Erika running away from the Navy. Fuu getting inside the Research Lab. Koharu, Kon, Warg, and Bu going into the Silent Forest to find Barbara. For better or worse, everyone in the Pirates of the Treasure could probably start to feel their adventure at Uka Island was drawing to an end. The truth behind all of this mess was about to unveil. Were they going to make it?
As expected, it wasn’t too hard for Fuu to get rid of that lid and getting inside the small tunnel that led inside the edification. In a matter of seconds, she was not around the outer yard anymore. The air duct was narrow. However, her squishy nature would allow her to move through the ventilation system fairly quickly. It was a single path with some turns along the way. Finally, she would find another lid in front of her. If she moved that away too, she would find a white aisle. The corridor was fairly unpolluted; someone kept this place very clean. The floor was so bright it even showed a blurry image of Fuu’s reflection. This cleanliness worked perfectly with the flat white color that could be found everywhere at the insides of the building. To her right, by the end of the aisle, a single room. From there, she could read the sign hanging in front of the door: “Dinning hall.” To her left, the end of the aisle led to two possible directions, each of them well signposted. “Scientists’ offices” ->
<- “Observatory”
What was she looking for? So many possible choices! “Quick! We need to go to the Research Lab!”“W-What? What now?”What was originally the group that headed to the Aftermath could listen to a conversation between some Hangyomons as they hide at the corner of an alley while they made their way to the forest. “They say the pirate that stole the Astrivia Sphere appeared around there!” “Treasure Hunter Erika!? I-It can’t be!” “The Hangyomons around the lab say she looks just like the girl on the wanted posters!”“And just after we lost track of the Chaos Pirates... W-Why did this have to happen now? How can two Treasure Hunters have come to this island at the same time!?”“Enough is enough!” A loud, sturdy voice, echoed through the soldiers. Among them, the same giant Octomon that had appeared in the Aftermath before could be seen. Now that they could actually see him at broad daylight, the crew would notice he was at least 5 times bigger than a regular Octomon. “Start looking for these pirates all over town. If people from the main headquarters find out we let any of these wanted criminals get away, we’re all going to be fired. So move, NOW!”
Immediately, all of the mermen deployed, spreading all over town.
Silence Forest. Even if it looked a lot closer on the map, the woods weren’t that close from the Research Lab. They were, however, not too far away from the back of Ukaka Inn or the CID building. It would be fairly easy for the bigger group to spot Kon near the entrance. Although the rest of the city seemed to be a mess, with navy soldiers going up and down, this place seemed rather… peaceful. Not a single digimon could be seen around the entrance. Why? This had to be the place where Barbara was hiding, right? Probably due to the time that took them to get here and the speed the fairy and that Zamielmon moved with, it was likely they were ahead of them. But… what were they exactly looking for? If they started walking through the path of white dirt the forest offered, they would quickly notice it bifurcated into multiple paths going all over the thicket. Now that they were walking around its insides, the crew would notice how this place resembled a labyrinth, and it was a lot bigger than it seemed from the outside. Due to the very confusing nature of Silence Forest, splitting did not seem like a good idea. Quickly, they had stumbled into at least a couple of questions: What were they going to do to avoid getting lost? What direction should they walk in?

The captain sure have quite the blast huh... was all Koharu can think as she saw the mess that's happened. What else can she call it but a mess? Either way looks like she's being hunted now.. it doesn't looks like Bu can regroup with Fuu. Either way, Kon-chan's voice will rang again in D-Nexus.
"From what little time I have when I was in the inn, there's a piece of interest that I hope can help you, Fuu This time I'll say it slowly. It might be prudent to look for Elecmon's Office. The Navy are looking at that place over and over again. There might be something there. When you're there, try to message us to describe how the place looked... It felt like a piece of a missing puzzle..."
Just at that time, she finally spotted Koharu, Warg and Bu.
"How's the situation?"
"Bad," Warg answered. "There's some bigass Octomon with Hangyomon minions. The Captain need to be prudent in her action. We must make haste."
"Is there any talk that they're going to the research lab?"
"Yeah, they're heading there apparently..."
"Well damn... Fuu you heard that. Proceed carefully. Anyway... did that Barbara said anything?"
"They seem to say that there are something in the research lab too... But they had no idea if they can look for it on time... Might be prudent to just look there anyway."
For the meantime they need to go to the forest. Koharu checked the automap function of the D-Nexus just in case... hopefully there are some way to keep track over here...
"...For the meantime I think it's best to check if there is a jamming in place or not. If there is a jamming... Well, best stay close." Koharu told the crew.

Fuu's slender nature allowed her to get through the duct with ease. Good thing it wasn't any more narrow, or else this would actually be uncomfortable for the Dorumon. As the Dorumon proceeded past the next lid and into the white aisle. Was this the lab? Fuu opted to check her D-Nexus again. A description of Elecmon's office?
She did have the idea of going there first. After all, if you're looking for a man in earnest, why not see how he conducts himself? ...There wasn't really any philosophical meaning there, but seriously, maybe an analysis of the workplace might indicate something to point to his whereabouts.
...If the Navy had been combing that place, they might come back. "...F-F-Fuck." Fuu stammered as she started to move for the Scientist' Offices to the right! Bu had to think about how to proceed into the forest very carefully, especially considering the fact that they could get lost at a moment's notice. "Stay close." The Ryudamon echoed. Think, Bu... "...Hey, don't fairies leave dust behind? Wouldn't the not-pretty one be similar...? Or do Tinkermon not...uh, do that?"
Might as well check. With the rest of the trio accompanying her, hopefully, Bu would start down the white path into the forest, keeping an eye on it for anything like dust or footprints.

Someone should start playing that detective music. Because Fuu was on the case to find info about this Elecmon! She had made her decision and jolted towards the offices. Moving through the empty hall, she would quickly find a turn to the left. And then one to the right. Although some doors appeared to both sides, the signs engraved on the walls kept pointing where she should go to reach the offices. Finally, she went through a doorway at least twice as big the size of the frame of a regular door. The sign on top showed she had arrived. To both her right and her left, she would find 7 doors on each side across the hall. If she took her time to read all of the signs hanging on them as she walked, she would finally find one labeled as “Elecmon’s office.” At the third door to her right. The door seemed closed but, before she could try the knob… “You don’t think the Hangyomons are coming today to investigate?”
Voices! They were coming from the door right in front of Elecmon’s office. And they seemed to be going Fuu's way. “I heard there is some fuss happening downtown, so maybe we’ll have some peace today.”
The third door to Fuu’s left started to open from inside. She probably had to hide NOW! If the Dorumon scanned her surroundings with the time she had left, she would find the door to Elecmon’s office (of course) and another air duct right above her head. If one of these happened to be well shut, she was probably at trouble! Which one should she try? Or... maybe she had something else in mind?
Right now, it did not seem like Silence Forest was jamming their communications with the outsides or with themselves. Of course, it would be a lot more useful if not only Fuu had a D-Nexus, but the captain too. Where could Erika be right now? Even if the silence of the forest could set the perfect environment to ramble, that thought should not remain with them for too long, anyways. They had a fairy to catch! As soon as Bu looked closely to the ground, she would find out her idea was not good… IT WAS MAGNIFICENT. Of course a couple of flying digimon would not leave any footsteps but... with the help of the little bit of sunlight that managed to go through the leaves of the trees, they could see small pieces of glitter shine over the ground, spread all over one of the white paths that seemed to go to the east. Could that be…!? Following the magic dust, the group would walk around one hundred meters, until they could start decrying a figure standing on a small clear. From where they were standing, it was hard to tell what it was, due to the thicket and the brushes standing in their way. It seemed like a small, chubby beast. It definitely did not have the shape of a pirate Tinkermon, although the dust did seem to follow the path there. As they walked a little closer, they would be able to tell what type of digimon it was. A Mikemon. It was just standing there, with an empty look in its eyes. What should their approach towards this digimon be?

OK, so... looks like Bu found something good. Interesting. Pixie Dust is it? Regardless, they can move forward now. Kon-chan patted Bu's back encouragingly, giving her a thumbs up. Soon, Koharu and her entourage... found their first hurdle it seems. What's this? A Mikemon? Not Black Tailmon but a Mikemon? Well either way, this one is looking a bit too vacant for Koharu's proper response! What's going on with this poor guy? Or is he just spacing out?
"Koharu, any passage about cat?" Kon-chan asked.
"W-wait, if I recall it right, "Make sure to make the cat faces the sky"."
Kon-chan would try to look above. Then, picking a sizeable enough of a pebble (not enough to knock someone out when it fell on their head), she took an aim. The goal is to ricochet the pebble through the trees in such way that it would make the Mikemon look at the sky.
"...Let's see..."
She would attempt to do it once. As a sharpshooter, surely she can do something this simple, right? But at the same time, she really hopes that this sort of approach is enough..."

Fuu was actually a little thankful she didn't try the knob. But those voices were moving her way quickly, so she needed to think fast on where to hide. She looked up to see another air vent, and immediately fired a Dash Metal up towards it to knock it open before she jumped up to get inside! Here's hoping the people behind that door wouldn't actually go looking for her for too long with this! Bu was shocked that Tinkermon apparently DID leave Pixie Dust™ behind. Truly the most important discovery of the century. "...Dang." They found a hurdle in the form of a Mikemon as they followed the unintentional breadcrumb trail left by their dastardly fairy friend.
This had a relation to the book that Erika put Koharu up to reading. To face the sky... She opted to wait and see how this initial test of throwing a pebble would go for the group.

Well, that proved to be easy enough! Fuu was not only able to knock the metallic lid open, but the thing kept itself hanging by the screws that held one of its sides. That meant it got open before making any type of noise. What would probably prove to be the most difficult part of this endeavor would be actually jumping and entering the pit! It was fairly high above. However, winding down her legs would help her get enough of an impulse to make it. From up there, she could listen to the rest of the conversation.
The door right in front of the door that led to Elecmon’s office opened, revealing a pair of Floramon. Nothing out of the ordinary in them, except they were wearing white robes.
“I really hope so. The Navy officers are always trying to ask us out!”
“Yes. They’re supposed to come here to check Mr. Elecmon’s office, why are they hanging around just talking to us?”
One of the flowers stopped. Her peer looked at her, just to find her staring at the door Fuu was looking at some moments ago.
“I wonder where he is…”
“… I really hope they find them.” The expression of both scientists had changed into one rather… sad. It looked like they were worried about Elecmon.
“Let’s keep working hard.” One of them placed the tip of her vines over the other Floramon’s shoulder. To this, her friend gave her a nod. They walked to the end of the aisle and left through the doorway Fuu had previously gone through.
The area seemed clear again. What was Fuu going to do?
There was nothing above other than the leaves of the trees around them and some scarce portions of the sky that could be seen.
The plan Koharu and the others had schemed went just as expected. And… at the same time, it didn’t.
As the pebble flew through the sky, the Mikemon raised his view, showing reflexes fair inferior to those of a normal cat. Like… it glanced above at least 2 seconds later. That was a slow Mikemon. However… nothing happened.
When the small rock hit the ground, though...
A cloud of dirt lifted!
Almost as if the ground had exploded, something seemed to activate upon the contact of the pebble. The cloud of dirt and dust was not significantly big and it happened right around the area where the rock landed, at least 6 meters behind the cat, but still on the clear the Mikemon was standing on.
Once the cloud vanished, they could spot a fairly big hole, right there where the small burst happened. It had a radius of around 2 meters. Slowly, the creature turned backwards to see the hole. It tilted its head, a bit confused. The digimon did not seem to understand what had triggered that hole appearing right behind it. Even if it did not seem that surprised about the hole itself.
Nothing else happened.
So… now what?

That... was random?" Kon-chan muttered.
"Either way, we should proceed... looks like the cat still looking that way, so... uh... Let's see... is there a way to avert their attention?"
"Well,I have something for sure, but I don't know how good it will be... um... let's see... What about cards?"
"Nothing concrete sadly... I think... we should probably try to aim for some sort of fruits?"
"Snipe fruits huh.... Alright. While I do that, can you guys circle the cat, see if you can run toward the opening should it look away;... Can you do it?"
"You're talking to former field and track club member, you know."
"Attagirl. Well... Bu, please watch my partner for me, alright?"
Kon-chan put her silencer on her sniper rifle, then began sniping process toward some tree... hopefully she could make some fruits drop. Would the Mikemon look toward the sky like this? It's a gamble, but.. She pulled the trigger, hoping that it hits fruits on its stalk. One, two, three... hopefully that's enough. She made sure to give interval about five seconds before she shot another.
C'mon, c'mon... they need to find Elecmon dammit!

Okay, those Digimon seemed far less intimidating than Fuu had anticipated. She tried getting a look at the Floramon before she dropped down from the vent, sure as all heck that they were gone. "...They seemed nice." The Dorumon muttered, looking a little worried. They were friends of Elecmon, weren't they? Perhaps she could've actually...y'know. Approached them.
Alas, now was not the time to mope over roads not taken. Fuu now had another reason to find where Elecmon went, and that was the hopes of reuniting friends with friends. The Dorumon was going to proceed into Elecmon's office (if it was open) and take a look around the place! Bu was fairly certain that the hole opening was something irreversible, even with the Mikemon now looking back down. "...If he looks up again, follow me in." She whispered. Silence must reign here, no? The Ryudamon began to circle the cat carefully, hopefully with others in tow.
Should the Mikemon look up to the sky, she'd make a dash to the hole and jump right in!

It did not matter anymore if speaking to those Floramons was something she should have gone for or not. Fuu had a lot more to worry about now because the door to Elecmon’s office had opened up with no trouble! Those were good news, overall. But it also meant she had to pay attention to every detail now. What could be found inside this room, then? Very different from its outside façade, the insides of the office were an absolute mess. Yes! Definitely a lot messier than Erika’s room. Papers and documents of different colors were scattered all over the floor, some even torn apart. Empty cups of coffee just laying around. Drawers open. Pieces of broken glass sprinkled through the carpet, probably due to a broken lamp hanging above. Whatever constituted as an item that could be in a messy environment, it could be found here! Between so many papers scattered around, Fuu could find some portraits. The glass of some of the photo frames was broken, but the pictures could be seen perfectly. In one, Elecmon was hugging two Floramons, smiling; the Dorumon would recognize the background, they were right in front of the Research Lab. If she walked around a little more, the pirate would find another pic. This time, it was just Elecmon, he seemed to be with some townsfolks, just looking at the camera, smiling. In the background, a beautiful sunset. This one had the frame of the portrait and its glass intact. That was a good thing. In another picture, not too far from that one, it seemed like someone had taken a photo without the scientist noticing, while he worked in a computer. The background was that same office where Fuu was at right now. With a black marker, some words could be read in digimoji. “We love you, Mr. Elecmon! You’re our favorite lecturer!
From: All of your lab students!” Why? Why would such a beloved digimon just… disappear, out of thin air? If she looked by the window, Fuu could see trouble. Two Hangyomon were approaching the Research Lab from the forest. Were they going to check Elecmon’s office again? Likely. Two things to be taken into account, then:
1. If the Navy had made such a mess of this place, it meant they had looked very carefully. They have combed every possibility. They had checked every possible hideout. "It's like... Mr. Elecmon knew something whoever might have kidnapped him should not find about"(...) "... but they still keep going there to investigate. It’s like they suspect there is something hidden in there, but can’t quite find it."Or… almost every possible hideout.
If they kept coming, it meant they were missing something, right? But… what could it be? What had slid below their noses? It had to be something very specific. But… what? Where did she have to look?2. Fuu didn’t have much time.
Fuu has three turns to find a clue in Elecmon’s office]
0/3.
Kon effectively shot the fruits. In a matter of seconds, they fell. At first, Mikemon kept staring at the hole behind it until… it turned to see the fruits on the ground. Again, very slow reflexes. So slow that… even when it heard the sound of the weapon, its attention had been replaced for the fruit falling. However, the Commandramon’s second shot did the trick. This time, the fruit she shot fell immediately, falling on top of the first one. After three of four seconds, the cat looked above, where the bullet had been aimed. Again, it was looking at the sky. Again, nothing happened. Nothing was happening when this Mikemon looked above. Why? Were they funneling the knowledge they had correctly? This would give enough time for Bu (and whoever was following her) to jump inside the pit. The result? A 20 ft. fall and… a lot of dirt. It was just… a hole, big enough to seemingly fit the whole team but… nothing else. Just a lonely, humid hole. The dirt surrounding the cavity seemed easy to carve through. Was Bu good at digging? And where could digging through one of the walls take her?

Holy shit, what an absolute mess! Somehow, Fuu knew now how Bu felt when she had to rifle through the Captain's mess of a room. And with that? She wondered if Erika was okay. Poor girl had taken the heat from all those Hangyomon... She took a few steps around Elecmon's office, taking a cursory glance before she noticed the frames. The pictures. One had...a sunset. And the Floramon. The other had Elecmon at the computer...
She decided to relay the information she had right now to Kon-chan. "Hey, I made it into the office. Place is a mess--the Navy's really been trying their hardest to find clues as to where this guy went to." She described some of the clutter to the Commandramon in her message. "There's a few picture frames intact among the rest...Can't stay here for long, though. Hangyomon are coming..." With that in mind, she picked up one of the picture frames. The one with the Floramon.
Sunset...
She went to open it. She knew that something regarding the sunset was a pivotal part of this mystery, it was just a question as to how it played into the scheme of things. "...Maybe it meant a different cat?" Bu said as she plummeted twenty feet into a hole with the team. She looked down to her claws and the dirt before she started to carve through it without much thought. Where the hell could all of this lead...? And WHERE WAS THAT DAMN FAIRY?

....That... was odd... It wasn't because of the cat's reaction, but because of a pebble. Could they just imagine that this is a sinkhole instead? Kon-chan imagines that she might have to push the cat there toward the hole but... what sort of crazy move is that? Either way... Is this cat the tortoise? Ignore it? He's sure slow as heck either way... and all she can think is how it's probably better for all of them to just either ignore him or... wait wait...
Kon-chan decided to do something else more constructive. She decided to check around the branches for pixie dusts... hopefully her sniper scope could help somewhat...
And by the way, Warg is doing the same, in this case for the ground down there. Would there be pixie dust or anything that could have belonged to Zamielmon?... is there anything he should take note of before helping Bu with digging? Traces of explosives perhaps? Or indication that it was meant to be triggered with the rock hitting on it? The six meter fall was thankfully dulled, all from the anti-grav device Koharu has.
The human meanwhile decided to scan the earth with her D-Nexus, making sure of its composition... there might be some clue here...
