“Bleh this tastes funny, can I please have some apple juice instead?” Simba had decided he’d try to be a grown up and have an alcoholic beverage similar to what his human was having despite Tohru’s warning that the taste of libels was rather pungent and sour and even sometimes burned the throat. “Told ya!” Too grown up for juice but lacking the taste for liquor the bunny opted to sip on a soda instead to go along with the burger and fries she’d ordered. “Hey at least I tried some unlike you!” Tch. “As if I’m that slow - I beat you to it a while ago!”
And while Talia would normally shushed their sibling rivalry bickering she knew Simba would be quickly distracted by the coming of his sandwich which the Gaomon server placed in front of him and the same went for the bunny who was already munching on her burger - meat was never a bad idea with these two. But even after all this time Talia would be lying if she said it wasn’t somewhat amusing to see an animal that was normally loathed by farmers for its love of veggies happily sink her carnivorous teeth into a juicy cheeseburger. As for Simba's question Talia stroked his head with a nod. "Anything for the cutest boy."“How come we’re here anyway? You were sort of mum on the details of the email.” Talia, who had just ordered a simple bowl of chicken soup with crackers, knew that the rabbit would ramble on and on about how dealing with a corrupted digimon with no plan was far too dangerous which was why she’d kept silent about it until making it all the way out here where their target possibly was according to the client, a client she expected to walk in the door any minute now. “You’ll see soon!” Was it risky? Possibly. But this was their line of work and such things came with those kinds of liabilities - besides they always pulled through in the end, what could possibly go wrong? She wasn’t sure if it was something other tamers actually did but Talia liked to think she didn’t keep the twins on any particular sort of diet - could digimon even get fat? Granted that didn’t mean she let them eat ice cream and butterfingers all day everyday else their sugar high selves would drive her crazy and keep her from her work. For carnivores, they did like vegetables which was nice (though there were times when they could be picky) but at the moment she was just glad they’d chosen high protein meals since they’d need energy for what they’d be doing next once the debriefing with their client was finished. "In the end, the lost ones always end up weeping."
These words ringing inside her head, a girl with long, silver hair walked around Rustport. She wore a brown hat, a pair of jeans and a yellow blouse. Her eyes drifted from one sign to the other as she walked by the street, next to the different establishments the town had to offer. She seemed to be looking for a certain name. With its arms wrapped around her neck, a digimon addressed her. "Uh... are you sure this is a good idea, Vic? We really don't know this person." Could they really trust them with that kind of information? This was a life or death matter, after all. Raising her gaze while holding her hat with her left hand, Victoria dismissed the digimon's question. Her expression was far from being full of excitement, but she seemed to be somewhat sure of this call. "I think it's our best bet right now, Toby." Not to say their only one, actually. Apparently, they had found the place. According to that very short chat they had through their D-Terminals, this was the place where they would meet. The girl walked inside the restaurant. It looked... lackluster, for a lack of a better word. It was a plain establishment with wooden chairs and tables, giving clear wild West vibes. The sound of music coming from an old jukebox got to the human's ears. It was a merry tune, like the ones saloons had in movies. Her eyes scanned the layout of the place. She had hired this girl through an announce she saw on Tamernet, so she had no idea on how she looked. However, the hacker had given her a clear point of reference. A Lopmon that looked like a dragon and a Huckmon, both gabbling up on food, could be seen in a table near one of the windows. These had to be them. Victoria walked towards Talia and her twins. "H-Hi there..." She uttered, shyly. "My name is Victoria, and this is Tobias." Both she and the digimon raised a hand/paw, greeting the group. "Uhmm..." She seemed to be having trouble to find the right words in order ask something. "A-Are you... by any chance..."T Then, she lowered her voice, leaning to get closer to the blonde girl, whispering. "... Bad Request?"Well, if she was using an alias it was probably because she didn't want people to find her, right?

The wandering body language of Victoria and Tobias quickly caught the blonde girls eye almost as soon as they walked in to which Talia followed their walking as they eventually made it to their table. “That would be us.” She motioned for them to park it at the chairs across from them. “Have a seat! I’m Talia, and this is Tohru and Simba, my partners. And please excuse their manners - they usually go out the table when it’s time for a meal.”
In fact the two were so hungry and concentrated on their food they hardly noticed their tamer roast them. They did however notice the newcomers and gave basic greetings before going back to their meals. “As you can see, we tend to operate in the shadows. On top of being dangerous, this line of work isn’t really what others consider a positive contribution to the functioning of society.” But hey what did they know? They would only know when they had a problem they couldn’t deal with in the standard way or without having a fear of retaliation, that’s when! “But we’re not nuns, even though we make it our goal to help others. Unlike the devout servants of the holy this kind of help is a little more involved than just praying.”
Taking some papers from her bag Talia placed them along with a pen in front of the woman. “Heh, don’t worry, I’m not asking for your soul. Just my standard contract so that you and your partner can sign off on an agreement of anonymity - that by putting your name here, you swear to keep everything that goes on in this transaction completely and utterly anonymous. And if anyone would ever ask, you’ve never heard of us, you don’t know us, you have absolutely no idea at all we exist.” Hopefully she’d understand this was for her and her partners own safety as well. “And should you choose to move forward, you agree that a breach of contract means accepting the consequences for doing so with the degree of punishment being at our discretion.”
The words, spoken with a small smile as the pigtailed female sipped a cocktail, sounded sincere and dark. And yet it was a perfect sales tactic because the clients who typically came to her like this were out of answers, out of solutions - by going to the other side of the train tracks per say, they were showing a level of desperation that could be easily manipulated to win their business. “No pressure though! Order a drink, relax and read things over. They make some good onion rings here.” What was so bad about mixing business with pleasure sometimes? “So tell me about your partner you want to save - how exactly did they get into the situation they did?”

With a tender smile, Victoria quickly dismissed Talia’s apologies about her partners. “They actually seem… very lively. I like them.” So this girl had twins too, huh? Talk about coincidences. Slowly, the silver-haired girl took a seat in front of the hacker. Immediately, a Gaomon approached the table to take her order.
“I’ll have a grape-flavored soda. Do you want something?” She glanced at her partner, who had unhitched from her neck and was taking his own spot over the table. Toby shook his head, slowly. “That would be all, for now.” With this, the waiter left. He would come back during the tamers’ conversation, placing the soda over the table, which Victoria would open and start drinking.
“I understand. Don’t worry about it, I wasn’t expecting you to be saints or anything like that.” Her expression was flat, not really having much to say about that. Before the blonde girl was even done talking, Victoria had already signed all of the pages of that paper she had given to her, without reading any of it. “I agree to all of it.” To this, Tobias didn’t seem even mildly unsettled. Her slightly purple eyes went back to who she had just hired for her services. “I don’t care about consequences or anything like that, Talia. This doesn’t mean I’m going to break the rules in this contract. It means I have no intention of preserving my interests over yours, mainly because I have nothing left. In other words, it means I couldn’t care less if I died right now. So any threat to my integrity is futile. We could say I’m already dead.”
Cold, unlike the blazing sun of Rustport.
“This being said, I will tell you my issue, and you will tell me if you’re willing to help me. If you are, I’ll do everything you say, hoping this will work. Right now, I only care for Tobias and his sister to be able to live a happy life once all of this is over. It is too late for me, I’m afraid.”
“Vic…” Tobias, who was just a small Phascomon with the classical sleepy expression these creatures usually had, seemed a bit worried about his tamer.
“The only thing I would like to know beforehand is your price since I do need to be able to honor my debt, in case you manage to do this.” But she would probably disclose that only when Victoria had explained the dimensions of the problem, right?
Letting out a sigh, Victoria leaned back against her chair, Toby jumping on her lap. Time to tell the full story, huh? “My identity was stolen. No… that isn’t right. It was… eliminated. From one day to the other, I ceased existing. Every registry that proves I ever existed was erased. Photographs, videos, legal registers, IDs, I disappeared from all of that. Like they had never been taken. The pictures where I appeared with other people also disappeared, being replaced by pictures of only those individuals. As I said, any proof that I ever existed is gone for good.” The silver-haired girl extended her soda to Toby, so he could take a sip.
“Of course, this includes all of the memories my friends and members of my family had of me. Neither my mom, my sister or my friends remember me. It’s like I never existed. All of the memories inside their heads that included me were replaced by memories of a reality where I was never born. The only ones who remember me are Toby… and the digimon who caused this: Toby's sister. Her name is Zappa. She used to be a Pillomon. Right now, she’s some sort of a Wizarmon, but with really appalling looks. I think something went wrong and she evolved into an evil digimon. She says she fell in love with me, and now wants to kill Toby too. I need to stop her, to get her back into a Digitama and save both hers and Tobias’ future.”
It wasn’t an easy story to tell. Victoria seemed rather unsettled just from telling all of that.

Vic’s monologue left Talia speechless, the girl having expected a bit more of a generic reaction to the terms of her contract? “Well in that case, we can get started whenever you’re ready.” She tried her hardest more often than not to let emotions interfere with the business but yet she couldn’t help but...find herself touched and saddened at the same time by the situation? “In another scenario, I could help you get your identity back.” But with what she’d said about the corrupted partner, it would have been akin to cutting off a starfish’s arm and watching it grow back. “But without shutting down your partner, she would just keep reverting back our work, would she not?” Little did the woman know how Bad Request actually charged its clients. “Well that’s the thing, what do you think you should pay?” In the beginning when the jobs consisted of just being related to hacking she’d made different prices depending on the labor and the difficulty of the job but at this point the work they got was so varied that it was too hard to narrow down and keep track of the value. “We tend to let our clients pick what they think the value of our services really is and what it means for them. A bit more offbeat than just numbers, right? That and I never did good with finance except how to calculate discounts on my phone at the local Mandee!” Over the crispity crunch of golden breading crackling under Tohru’s dense teeth the woman stayed silent for a while thinking of how to answer the woman who seemed to sound almost suicidal in her speech. “I understand and respect your choice, and while I won’t pry further, let me ask - do you truly want to give up that quickly? Because if not, I’m sure there’s something we can do to fix your identity later on…I don’t have an actual answer but I’m always up for finding new answers to things.” The big question was how the hell a pillomon managed to get the power to take such drastic measures. “Well it’s settled then! You’ve made it to our client list my dear.” But before they got started Talia was utterly curious about a few things. “Before we start though, can you answer some questions for me? Nothing too intense, I just like to get a bit of a background with my cases.” Sometimes the subtlest of information cam in hand after all! “Before all this happened, did you and your partners have any strange runs with say, a totem or a shady digimon who offered you something?” Tsukiko & The Ashikaga Clan
