We Forget but still Regret [Mission]

Not long after the explanation was finished it would appear as if they finally had gotten a portal just stable enough for them to walk through...it was still a very much unnapealing idea however, and he would have much rather stayed on this end of reality, even if it meant helping out perform an exorcism. Though it was probably unlikely that would help any.
" "Haunted" or not I seriously doubt we can just pray this problem away. Clearly whatever's wrong with them it's probably happening on the other end of that portal..." Dio said as he shook his head. A more hands on approach was obviously a better alternative, that was the point of opening the portal on the first place, right? Gio seemed to agree as evidenced by him slowly inching towards the portal...only to once again be stopped by his tamer, much to his dismay and excessive pouting.
"Carlos, come onnnnnnn, I'll be careful..." The reptile whined to no avail. Carlos did little else but to glare at him for a moment this time, though. Was it really much to ask him to stay put for five minutes? And while Hiroyo's idea seemed relatively solid, in the end a rope was probably more reliable than a purse for such an endeavour, so he was quick to grab a hold of some of it after Ryouta began taking it out of his infini-store. He still wasn't too keen on the idea of going in but really, what choice did they have?
"Mind if we go second place then? I don't think keeping Gio in the rear is a good idea." He asked Ryouta as he carefully tied his part of the rope to both his and his partners' waist, before passing over the remaining rope to the rest of the group. Last thing he wanted was for him to get distracted and try to go somewhere else unsupervised. At least this way if he tried to speed away everyone else would be quick to see him. Dio rolled his eyes, possibly annoyed at the mere thought of the Dark Lord being "second place", but otherwise kept to himself.

“Is she sleeping, Tohru? Fish sleep with their eyes open you know so maybe humans can do it too!” The static snowcap like feeling reminded Talia of the incident in the human world when she’d started to disappear, that overwhelming panic feeling but this time it was all over instead of just in an arm or a leg. “She’s not a fish, dummy, fish have gills and scales!” “Maybe she’s a mermaid, half human half fish!” It made her wish all the more she had a better way to communicate with the bakemon, to tell him that she too was trapped in separate places. “Earth to Talia?” She seemed to have been pulled into daydreaming, literally mentally and digitally lost in thought before a certain cloaked hare pulled her back to the front. “Not earth Tohru, we’re in the digital world!”
She shrugged at Hiroyo. “I’m no witch, but I’ve seen enough movies and episodes of Buffy to kind of remember an exorcism in latin?” And while she was picking her brain, the veemon conveniently revealed his tamer to be part of a family who owned of a shrine. “Even better! Not that because I can’t remember the chant or anything…” Did it mean the memories of her life in the human world as the civilian Talia Brandt were fading, or was she simply just rusty from (unintentionally) missing meetings of her cosplay group? It struck a chord within her enough that she was on the verge of panicking but brushed it off in order to attempt to focus on the matter at hand.
“And the twins and I can stay in the back to supervise!” Seeing how Carlos was becoming frustrated with Gio Talia couldn’t help but sympathize and subtly offer her help to the stressed man. “Don’t worry Carlos, we’ll keep an eye on him for you!” It was nice to see the twins be so enthusiastic about taking the burden off him too, as if they could read exactly how she was feeling - were the three of them that emotionally connected at this point? “Definitely! Although...is this going to be spooky Talia?” The silver blonde didn’t answer as she prepared the two for entry into the portal by typing the rope, petting his head at the question. “Nah, not if we’re together - we’re a trifecta remember?”

The team seemed to be preparing for the portal. One last round of testing the portal would come into place, merely to check if it was safe. Among their chatting, they eventually decided to throw something in, tied to a rope, first. It was a good idea, test the situation on the other side. See if it worked, see if it was safe. Sadly, not all glitchy dimensions took too kindly to objects being thrown in. They tossed in a bait. At first, the bait and the rope seemed to safely go inside the portal, with nothing directly happening. The rope didn’t quite fall to the bottom of the portal, remaining in the middle. However, while the rope remained in place, the Bait had somehow been untied from it, and was tossed back out! The bait didn’t fly out at high speed, but nonetheless, struck Tohru. Afterwards, the rope, which was still fine and in the portal, started pulling on anyone who had grabbed it! It forced one person in, and Gawappamon was visually surprised. But the one holding the rope (OOC: Ryouta, i believe?) was pulled into the portal in just a second’s time.
?̵͖̖̣̪͍͉̤̦̠̳̱͐ͅ?̴̯͇͕̯̩͚̻̯̻̰̯͍̙̓̓̏̄̿̽͌̑͒̎̆̚̚?̵̧͛̑̐̉̔̀̓̏̓͝?̸̧̙͇̮̘̣̠̟̺̭̟̆̈́̄̒̑̾͠ͅ?̸̡̢͓̙̜̠͔̹̱̤̖̙̊̂̂͌̈́͆͋͠
The first to enter, and the rest following, would be greeted by a truly unnatural environment. First and foremost, Gravity didn’t seem to be a real thing, but there was some kind of up and down. They were all weightless and floating in an endless abyss, anyone entering just happened to be floating the same way. However, the visual impression and physical feeling of being weightless could only last a split second before something else overtook your senses. A constant sound of a hundred overlapping whispers and murmurs. A sort of constant, soft, chatter, echoed around everywhere. It was a very displeasing noise, and it had the sound of depression. It was like someone had recorded a depressed person in their room muttering to themself, and then had replayed that recording a hundred times, each with slightly different timing. The sound was overtaking, and destroyed your focus. But you could still see your surroundings. Fuzzy senses approaches and slid over your every bit of skin, making your hairs stand on end with the ‘wrongness’ of this place. It was hard to make heads or tails out of what you saw, as the floating, weightless space you were in, was like a TV-screen with no reception, frozen on it’s white, black and grey pixelated screen. There were also colours of brown and sepia tones, but all generally very dull colours. It was very hard to shape and focus anything you saw in the distance though, with the constant whispering, which seemed to almost be directly in your skull. It was maddening, if this would not be solved, it would surely spell insanity for the lot.
All power levels beyond the portals are equalized! Rookies can now viably slap megas because why not. The incessant sound kills all focus you have. Every post, you can only have ONE move cool down for one post. If multiple moves are on cooldown, you may choose which one continues cooling down.

Everyone else had clear ideas about where they wanted to tie themselves in the rope and Hiroyo was fine with her position. What she wasn't fine with was the lack of carabiners to clip to her pants and then to the rope. The quick release was there for a reason and it felt weird not to have it! Even if she mostly only did indoor climbing the importance of it had still been drilled into her. She sighed and tied herself into place. That done she turned to the bug twins then hesitated because really, how was she suppose to attach this to a worm?
"Perhaps it is best we are not directly tied into the line." Morgan said as he caught on to her line of sight and her dilemma. He moved closer and plucked gently at the strap of her purse. His antenna twitched a query to Roger. "Holding this should do to keep us close, and we will be able to let go quickly in case of trouble."
"Uuggh, fiiiiine." Roger grumbled. He positioned himself across the top of Hiroyo's shoulders and stretched out his head to scoop up part of the strap in his beak. No sooner had he and Morgan grabbed onto the purse than a mighty jerk tugged the line. Hiroyo's eyes widened and she planted her feet in the dirt, both hands on the rope around her waist as she leaned back and tried to anchor the group.
Mass and inertia were not on her side and very soon she found herself pulled along into the portal.
She was floating! Floating forward and up and it was terrifying and exhilerating all at once except for that awful, dreadful noise that was burrowing into her skull and the sting from her hands. She very gingerly picked them up to see that the skin had been rubbed red and painful from the slide of rope between her hands and wasn't there something she had that could have prevented that? Something she should have grabbed?
Damn this blasted noise, she couldn't think!
"Well, I must admit this is not what I expected." Morgan spoke perhaps a bit louder than he needed to in order to ensure he was heard over the muttering-mumbling around them. He attempted to adjust his grip on the purse strap and found himself floating upward instead. The purse came with him, slowly rotating around and up to dangle directly above Hiroyo's head with Morgan hanging off the side with a most annoyed expression.
"Can't you just, fly? You've got wings!" Hiroyo wasn't panicking! Not yet, anyways. There was a definate and obvious edge of concern to her voice which was completely understandable given the circumstances, right?!
"Without gravity a careless flap of my wings will send our entire group tumbling head over heels." Morgan ground out, frustrated with his own carelessness and the constant irritating background noise. His voice didn't show it yet, still almost monotonous despite the volume. Hiroyo preferred it to the whispers. "All of you, be very cautions with your movements! Without normal gravity as an anchor the rule of equal and opposite reaction will apply much more to this."
"More than that...HEY VOICES, KNOCK IT OFF!" Roger released the purse strap to screech into the void, his Sticky Feet keeping him firmly anchored to Hiroyo's shoulders. She winced at sudden Loud almost directly by her ear.
"Not helping Roger!"

He was first to dive in
HIM
And not by his own volition either!
There was a screaming involved, something that might sounded uncharacteristic for a youth as huge as him, but that's what happened... BECAUSE FUCK GHOSTS AND FUCK EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW. HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS FUCKING IMAGE. Thankfully his scream was short lived, and the moment the second (Carlos?) has entered, he doesn't have to hear more than the residue of what Ryouta screamed.
...Speaking of which, it's also filled with profanities, so thank goodness Gio probably doesn't have to hear it (although honestly? He might got more abuse of that from his brother anyway)
...This, added with some heebie jeebies inducing whispers and whatnot just make it even worse, but by this point, Ryouta already mentally tired, so he just... looked rather low energy instead. Valt meanwhile looked around... he, like the two insects, looked bothered, but thankfully not to point of immediate "Fuck it all"
"Aniki, try scanning around by your D-Nexus, see if something comes up."
By this point, Ryouta just slowly scanned around for whatever... possible, he guessed. The voices unnerves him, and honestly, sapping his mental energy rapidly. He's very weak against this sort of thing, and... it just makes him even weaker.
"...We should probably see if there are something.. gh... up ahead or what..."
Only surface level thoughts mostly possible, huh... Curses...

The chain of events that came after Carlos had finished wrapping the rope around himself and his two partners was as sudden as it was surprising, and with no warning both them and everyone else found themselves away from the Village of Begginings and...somewhere else entirely. Where exactly? It was pretty much impossible to tell, as there were few things they could really make out inside this weird static filled void. Other than the ever present, ever loud and unending voices digging into their skulls. This coupled with the general disorientation that came from being floating in the gravity less aether was understandably maddening.
Well, for everyone but Gio that is, he in particular didn't seemed particularly interested or even concerned about the choir of voices, though he was quick to join Roger in his discontentment.
"Dumb voices, don't they know they're being annoying?" Gio huffed crossing his arms, otherwise not looking all that taken aback or even surprised by this bizarre turn of events, seemingly content with lazily floating around without putting up any resistance.
Neither his brother nor Carlos were content by any stretch of the word, far from it. Carlos in particular seemed rather disturbed by this whole place. It reminded him a bit too much of another place he had been forced into before, but with less scribbling sounds and more whispering. That said, tried his best to block out the noise as best as he could.
"Ryouta's right, w-we should find some solid ground to stand on, asap!" He yelled, perhaps a bit too loudly in an attempt to be heard above the whispering, all the while taking out his own digivice and trying to scan the general area in search of anything really. Hopefully somewhere they could land onto.

Post by Talia and Tohru & Simba on Oct 2, 2019 22:17:05 GMT
Talia’s reason for disliking the voices was a personal conflict that went back in time much farther than Carlos’s did, to a time of she and her siblings sitting on a bench outside of a courtroom where the jagged voices of her parents and lawyers echoed words like “custody” and “separation” and “irreconcilable differences” as the sound of a pounding gavel could be heard. “I hate lawyers… these voices sound like hearing one talk after more than 10 minutes.” Simba, who had the eyes and ears of a predatory species was holding his closed attempting to block out the awful noise penetrating his draconically sensitive auditory system. “It huuuuurts Tohru, IT HUUUUURTS!” The rabbit wasn’t much less bothered than her human and brother were and Simba’s loud whining didn’t help an ounce - ugh was this really the time for him to have a tantrum? “Yes I am aware of that, everyone is but you have to try to keep your head above the water okay? Because if you get upset everyone else will! Would you want to make Gio and Talia cry?”
He huffed in smatters, still sort of holding his ears. “Meh, noooo. B-but can’t you make them stoooop? You always help me fix my toys!” Tohru would have been lying if she said that statement didn’t tug at her heartstrings just a little bit, the gleam in the kids eyes when he looked at her with a sibling admiration. “I’ll try, but you have to help me too okay? Remember, we’re in this together!” Talia was partially listening to the two of them while focusing on observing the new area the group was in, immediately going into analysis mode with a small palmtop computer trying to measure the waves in the room but it didn’t seem to compute - however, Simba’s complaining had given her an idea. “Hey buddy, I know something you could do for us, with your hearing, could you try and listen around for a...less noisy spot, like a location that sounds something that sounds more stable? You can try it too Tohru, listen hard and focus.” Both nodding, the dragon slowly pulled his paws from his ears and perked his head up while Tohru lifted for her ears, as if they were in a forest listening for the sound of water.

The voices continued, although they seemed to simmer down for just a moment. It gave everyone just enough time to see how they were floating, each the same way up, each of them seeing another hovering in front of an endless space of sepia coloured digital objects.
As Ryota was the first to enter, he managed to get some simple scans with his D-nexus, the device attempting to make heads or tails of the surroundings. Luckily, the very nature of code remained the same both inside and outside of subdimensions. They were definitely still in a world where the laws of code, and the coding ‘language’, was the same as the digital world. His D-Nexus would pick up on data that seemed to resemble Digimon memory data. Everything here seemed to be digimon memory data, from the strange brown and black digital constructs floating in the space, to almost the very air itself. The source of the voices were likely much the same.
The masses of digital voices picked up again, and a few even seemed to start coming closer. Data started assembling around the party, two digimon slowly being created in the void. A Sagittarimon stared down the group in solemn silence, the armor of his body outfitted with spikes and sleek designs of gold digizoid which could remind everyone of a large fighting robot. He was large, easily the height of a normal house in a tokyo living district. He watched in silence as the voices continued annoying everyone’s ears. His mask and armor seems broken on multiple spots, data continuously leaking from it. The digimon created on the other side was a bit slower to take shape, but spoke even as it first started assembling.
“What low-life chum are you?! To come here and tell US to knock it off?! We belong here, you don’t!” As he spoke, the shape of a Bearmon started forming infront of the group, except it’s hat seemed to be made of stitched together patches of purple cloth and had two little demon wings that everyone knew belonged to a DemiDevimon. The bearmon had tattered cloth over it’s arms instead of belts, and it’s claws were much thinner, and also broken. Rips and tears over his body showed leakage of data, which somehow seemed darker and more sinister than the data leaking from Sagittarimon’s gaping armor.
The Bearmon was looking at Roger more than anything, since that was the clear source of the outcry to make the voices shut up. They seemed to have no intention to do so.
The two floated, surrounding the party, but did little to attack them.

"Huh!" Roger reared up in an S-shape at the appearance of the specters, the sound more surprised than contrary. Morgan's eyes narrowed and Hiroyo's widened as they took in the sight of the two. She successfully resisted the attempt to look back at Talia, Tohru, and Simba but she bit her lip. Would conversation with these guys would make it harder to find somewhere quiet, right? But didn't they really have a choice to do anything but deal with the two immediately?
"I honestly wasn't expecting a response. I guess I should apologize for disturbing your rest or something." The Kunemon carefully and slowly stretched his head out toward the Bearmon almost like he was sniffing him. He pulled back into his s-shaped perch but seemed more at ease than before, having an apparent source to focus on helped! The whispers were a constant annoyance but he could almost will them away by focusing on the two. At least that's what he believed. "Though, is it really rest if there's all that whispering going on?"
Hiroyo sighed quietly, her shoulders drooping. Why was Roger's outburst the one that got attention instead of Ryouta's? Did these two think that both had come from the Kunemon? It was two obviously different voices! How could they mistake one for the other-unless maybe the whispering was affecting them as well?
She groaned and gripped the sides of her head, closing her eyes. There was a headache growing behind her eyes, she really didn't want to deal with this. She hoped the others could figure out how to get to steady ground, or maybe
"I have never seen a Bearmon with a hat like that before, nor have I seen a mon with such serious wounds in a while. If you belong here, hm..." Hiroyo's eyes snapped open and she lifted her head to blink at the Bearmon as Morgan talked. Hat? The bit of purple and wings were a hat? "We were hired investigate phenomena, in the course of our investigation we discovered spontaneously generated portals which brought us here. Where is here?"

Well, looks like here they are... and... already things are not looking so well. Apparently this entire thing belonged to a digital signature that seems to be like a DIgimon.. no, to be precise, something like their memory.
"So... this place would be something like a subspace of someone's memory or something?" Ryouta muttered as he show the result to Valt. The noises still annoyed the hell outta them, but even so... their brains is trying hard to filter the noises, just like concert. It's disconcerting, yes, especially since Valt cannot really feel the power of the land over here...
"Memories?" Gh, he can't really think much. Goddamn this voices... And then there appeared two Digimons. One's FUCKING HUGE. Another is Bearmon, but... one thing that's similar about them is that they're seem to be rather ghastly...
"...Aniki?"
"Ghh..." honestly, Ryouta is not fond of this place already. What on earth is this splicing? Body horror or what? But even then, he tried his best to stand his ground... figuratively because there are no clear ground over here.
"...Right, admirable. Anyway, we apologize for invading your... I guess your realm would be the word? Nice to meet you. Name's Valt, here's my partner, Ryouta. He's quite experienced with ones who drift between worlds... ghosts, you would say. Anyway, uh... Yeah, we're sent here to explore what causing this... leak, which is basically a leak from this place to the world outside, Digital World. The source seem to be Bakemon... with that being said, mind us asking what are you guys really?
Like, are you guys ghost... or memories of the Bakemon?"

As if the sheer insanity of their surroundings wasn't enough, the group would find themselves accosted by the appearance of the inhabitants of this place. Or at least, so they claimed. Their ominous and foreboding appearance coupled with everything was a bit much to take in, and the cries of Talia's dragon partner were not helping in the slightest either, not that he could blame him for reacting so strongly. It was sheer sensory overload.
At the very least Dio could take some solace in knowing he was not alone in his pain, else he would have quite literally exploded and lashed out at this entire place in a conflagration of pure anger, fire and colorful language. For now? He kept it to himself, merely grinding his teeth and covering his ears as best as he could. "Simba I swear to Yggdrasil I'll give you a reason to cry if you keep this up..." The imp would mutter under his breath, too low for anyone else to hear it over the overwhelming whispering. At least Talia was able to reign him in somewhat, now if only they could do the same with all of the noise.
Carlos meanwhile was momentarily distracted from that as he was too busy taking in the ominous data aparitions in front of them. At the very least the rest of the group kept focused enough to ask them questions, which really seemed like the only right thing right now.
"W-what they said." Carlos agreed with Ryouta and Hiroyo, stuttering somewhat whilst wishing he could at least seem more collected than what he actually was. "Look, we're just here to try and help the Bakemon outside, but it's getting pretty freaking hard to do so with all that whispering."
"Yeah! Can you guys tell whoever's whispering to stop? It's making everyone annoyed I think." Gio chimed in once again as he scratched the back of his ear, seemingly not nearly as bothered by...really anything that was going on. Granted, he wasn't exactly relaxed either. even he knew better than to assume these apparitions were harmless, but he certainly didn't felt too threatened by them yet. Or if he was, he wasn't showing it.
