Calm Before The Storm (Bloom)

Bloom's whole faith to get out of this hole was laid on Dio, how hard could it be to take down a Floramon and then help her out? Surely someone that boost of being a dark lord as Dio does should be able to do it in the blink of an eye, too bad reality was different as Dio was taking his time but why tho?
Well simple reason the moment the plant saw the small flame hovering on the imp's finger she start crying, hearing him asking what was she going to do with a malicious look on his face just made her cry even louder and drop to her knees
"P-Please I-I just f-found this pl-place and..." It was a little hard to cry for your life and talk at the same time "I left the village of beginnins and had no place to be... I found this little shack and with a little help I fix it... It's my home I've been here for at least a year... No one ever come before so I just...." And her explanation was cut short for more crying
And to say that Bloom was getting tired of this was an understatement, was Dio really buying what the plant was saying? All the crying? Really? What happen to the Dark Lord? If only Miyu was here she could evolve and take care of the problem swiftly
"Dio! Stop fooling around take her out and get me out of here! Are you really buying her lies! What kind of Dark lord can't defeat a little plant!"
Bloom yelling didn't do anything to stop the Floramon's crying if anything it made it worst "P-Please... Spare me I-I have n-no pl-place to go nor family or friends!"

The more it went on, the harder it was for the imp to keep his angry and intimidating face on, the cries and pleas from the Floramon deflating any sense of payback or revenge the purple devil felt he deserved. Even Bloom's yelling fell on deaf ears on the face of the utterly terrified plant in front of him. "H-hey! I said stop that! Crying will get you nowhere with me!"
It was frankly rather hard to keep acting threateningly if all the Floramon was going to do was cower in a corner and not even put up a fight. Even if this made it probably the best moment for Dio to take his shot or at least subdue her he just...couldn't find the strenght for it. His honor (or rather hubris) as the Dark Lord kept him from lowering himself like that.
"Please stop crying..." He said half heartedly, his voice having lost most if not all of the strenght and bravado from before. Well, it was clear at least for him he was probably not going to hurt the plant at all in her current state, so what was he to do? Simple really, focus on the other matter at hand.
"Look, I'll spare you, but only if you get my friend out of that hole." He said, this time more strongly as he pointed at the Floramon with his index finger, taking some slow and very deliberate steps away from the hole, to the side and ever so slightly close to her. "Unharmed."

No matter how much the dark lord demanded for the plant to stop crying she wasn't stopping anytime soon, the Floramon just kept going and going, tears falling almost like waterfalls it all seemed a little suspicious and a little acted for the trained eye, but most rookie won't know the difference between crying for real and acting up to just look weak and get a chance of running away or get a cheap shot
The idea was simple, just act up a little and push him back into the hole, make sure the Palmon can't take him out again, but seeing how easily the bravado of the imp broke the Floramon thought it was too much, she kept her act tho not just as strong as it started.
"B-but she's a m-meanie" The Floramon stuttered, sadly it didn't seemed that she could do much now "Ok... B-but promise m-me she w-won't hurt me"
And after that she just walk to the hole, took a deep breath and extended her vines to wrap up Bloom and take her out, the Palmon wasn't happy at all, having to be help by a Floramon and the lack of action from Dio really set her mood in the worst possible state
"I'll give you five seconds to explain yourself and leave" Said Bloom with an extremely annoyed tone
"Eek!" The Floramon run and hide behind Dio for "safety" "I... I just found this place... It seemed abandoned so I took care of it and no one reclaim it... So I decided to live here..."
"Well, the owner's back, so grab your things and leave!"
"N-No please, I have nowhere to go no friends to stay with, this is a bad place for a weak flower like me, I won't survive on my own" She clinge to Dio's arm and with watery eyes look at the impmon playing her act a little more "Please Mr. Dark Lord, talk to your girlfriend and let me stay here, I'll be eternally grateful if you do that"
Truly a bad moment to be Dio right now, it's never good to be in the middle of a girl fight and sadly he has to chose whether leave the Floramon Homeless and please Bloom, or argue in favor of the Floramon and pissed the hell out of Bloom, wonder what the poor guy would do....

Despite his best efforts, it didn't seem possible for Dio to stop the Floramon from crying, the amount of water that poured from the plant's eyes seemed almost unreal. He bit his lip, feeling a slight tinge of guilt. Damnit, she was the one taking over places that she didn't own, why was he feeling sorry for her? Though he couldn't help but glance at the Floramon with a somewhat puzzled expression as she tried to excuse herself out of helping Bloom.
"I mean...you're the one that pushed us into a hole unprovoked."
He stood silent as she took the Palmon out of the whole. She wanted him to promise Bloom wouldn't hurt her? Honestly he was more worried about Bloom wanting to hurt him after his rather...lackluster display of an easily exploitable soft side. Her rather unamused look as she was pulled from the hole didn't help. At the very least they had the advantage now right?
At least so he thought until the plant hid behind him after Bloom, his already shaky confidence crumbling even more as she felt her clinging tightly to his arm, a visibly chill crawling down his spine as she did. Had the Floramon not been crying for the past minute or so, he would have probably shook her off immediatelly. And to rub salt in the wound, she reffered to Bloom as his girlfriend, something the poor Dork Lord's brain had a bit of a hard time processing immediatelly.
"G-girlfriend? I...guess thats..." He found himself muttering aloud as if in a haze, his face slowly turning red as his eyes widened with realization. He quickly turned his face around to face away from both plants, mostly to keep them from seeing his noticeable blush, though he knew it was pointless so he tried to change the subject, or rather put the conversation back to where they actually wanted it. "Tch, t-that's besides the point! The point is you took my friend's place. Sure, she might not have been here at that time or for a long while, but that doesn't mean you can just go around taking things or places that don't belong to you." He said, trying (and somewhat succeeding) in sounding firm for once.
"L-look the way I see it, either you two settle your differences or we'll take this place by force."

Dio sure was in a weird place right now, between the boiling anger of Bloom and the cunning smile of the Floramon no matter what the imp did it sure was going to back fire, maybe the smart thing was to look the other way around to hide the blush tho or was it? While not entirely sure of why the Imp did that, the Floramon sure had her suspicions, but for now she has to keep playing fool.
Or at least she try before bursting into laughter "S-sorry.. I can't hahahahah" Something really trigger her funny bone "Take the place by force... When all I did to pacify you was crying HAHAHAHAHAHA" Yep, after seing how easy was to manipulate Dio she wasn't going to take him seriously
The laugh stop as soon as Bloom wrap her vines around her "Maybe he won't but I sure will!"
"L-Look, if this is your home, I'll give it back, I'm sorry, OK?" The Floramon stutter while being squeezed by the Palmon "B-but I've been living here for two years now.."
"Two... Years...?" Hearing that made Bloom loosen the hold and stare blankly at the Floramon
"Y-yes, when I first got here I wait for the owner to just pass a couple of days while I look for somewhere to stay, but weeks pass and no one claim it so I figure it was long left" The plant made a pause and walk again behind Dio just in case the Palmon react aggresively again "So I settle here and make it my home.."
Bloom didn't react, she just stare blankly at the "house" lost in her own trail of thoughts, could it really be two years? The Floramon doesn't sound like she's lying, and that's two years since she came, who knows how much time have actually passed, how much time since she reform and the time spent with Miyu in the Human world, after all digital world moves 7 times faster than the human world
"Is... Is she going to be ok?" The Floramon poked Dio "Can I still stay here?"

There were few things that made Dio more angry than being taken advantage off his (relative) good nature, and being deceived. So it was only natural he'd practically be seething with rage once it was clear that Floramon had been doing both.
"Hey no, stop!" The imp snapped back at her laughing fit, his face red with embarrasment and anger. "You quit laughing this instant or I'm boiling you and your crocodile tears alive!"
Needless to say it was quite cathartic for him to see the smug plant be silenced and brought down a peg by Bloom. And things could have ended right there and then. But the plant dropped one hell of a bombshell of information on top of the two digimon, one that was enough to shake Dio and Bloom so much any and the desire to possibly fight for the rundown house had all but evaporated.
"Bloom?" Was all Dio could ask his friend as she stared blankly at the house, not really reacting to anything else going on around her. It was...painful to see her like that. He couldn't possibly imagine what or how she could be feeling. As for the Floramon's question, all Dio could give her for an answer was a shrug, before he got closer to Bloom.
Without really thinking it through, he gently placed one hand on her shoulder, squeezing it softly.
"C-come on, at least we found your place, right? That's gotta account for something at least..." He said, forcing a small smile. For a reason he couldn't quite place, all he wanted was for her to smile. Or laugh. Or hell, even have her break down and cry. Anything would be better than this silence. But...that was not going to be enough, was it? And even if it was, he felt it was not enough.
He had come out all this way far from his home for her, to prove to her that he did in fact care. But was being here enough? Was him standing idly by and let her deal with everything really going to prove anything. He knew the answer to all of that, and also knew the way to make things right, or at least, as right as he could make them.
His body practically moved on his own, and before he or Bloom knew it, the imp's arms were gently wrapped around the Palmon's frame. "...I'm sorry." He said, apologetic yet almost reassuring. "If uhm...you need your space and the like just say so and I'll let you be but..." He said after taking a long sigh, knowing the weight those words would probably have. He was unsure, almost scared of how she might react to them considering all that could be going through her mind, but in the end he knew honesty was all she needed to hear right now.
"...I'm here for you. I know that's not the greatest silver lining but I care."

Welp, this was not how the Floramon was expecting her day to go, buuuuuut seeing that those two would need a moment of privacy and the imp answering her question with a shrug, the plant slowly made her way back into the wooden shack
As for Bloom, she remain silent still processing the bomb the Floramon dropped, she didn't even noticed Dio placing his arm on her shoulder or whatever he was saying, the Palmon only snapped finally when Dio hug her and said that he was there for her and that he cared
"Thanks..." Bloom said softly almost like whispering, her eyes started to tear up a bit, she knew that if she made any move or try to speak she would break, and it was something that didn't want Dio to be witness "Sorry if I was a capital B with you... Thanks for following me here, I really appreciate the gesture" She was ready to tell Dio to go back but something stop her
"Hope you guys aren't leaving yet" The Floramon appear once again with a cake on her hands "I was saving this for another reason, but it's the least I can do after the trap hole, come on in I'll make tea too!" Said the plant with a big friendly smile
In any other case Bloom would politely reject since she didn't want to spend more time here, but truth be told she was feeling a bit hungry, not helped by her own stomach making grumble noises, she turn to look at Dio letting a nervous laugh
"Guess it's an offer I can't say no, how about you?" She would wait for Dio's answer

While on some level Dio had to agree that Bloom had been...less than stellar in some ways towards him, and despite the fact he would have been all too happy to agreed with her out loud he just...couldn't bring himself to do so. A voice in the back of his conscience told him it would be the worst thing he could even dare to say.
"That's...fine, honest. I was kind of a dick with you earlier so I probably deserved it." Did that make them even? Who knew, Dio certainly seemed to think so. At any rate he was simply content he had managed to improve her mood, if only slightly. And he would have probably said something else...but then the Floramon returned, carrying a cake of all things abd was all too happy to share it with them as if nothing had happened between the three.
Needless to say Dio was rather wary of her, and especially her cake. After all that was only natural when someone had pushed you into a ditch less than five minutes ago. If anything he would have told her to keep it and left but Bloom seemed to have something else in mind. Well, if that made her happy then he'd be content to see this thing through to the end. Plus he was a bit hungry as well.
"I guess I can oblige. Just...promise us it's not poisoned or something."

"Sweetie, I bought this cake in Rosewood" Said the Floramon with a glare after the Impmon implied that it could be poisoned "And even if I make it myself I with the intent of harming others, it wouldn't be poison, I'm not a poisonus flower like the one you're hugging"
Bloom glare at her back, it was a common thing that Floramon and Palmon didn't like each other, but she was shown before that a Floramon can be nice and they can be "friends", so why not give it a try? Just for the free cake.
Once inside Bloom notice that aside for a couple more flowers around the place, her "home" was the same as she remembered, a simple cabin made out of wood with what little she could do to build it, it wasn't the greatest thing ever but it was confortable enough for her, at least the Floramon was kind enough to keep it and don't modify it much
They sit on an improvised table using little tree stumps as chairs, the plant give one plate with the aforementioned cake and smile at them
"Sorry for all the traps and tricks before, a little poor girl like me has to do a lot to keep herself safe in a wild environment" She close her eyes and sounded so sad as she spoke, one could tell she could start crying at any second, but then she break the poor plant act and show the very smug smile all Floramon have "My name is Ollivine, but just Ollie is fine, how about you? What are two lovebirds doing on a place like this?"
"My name is Bloom, and I'm also sorry for the bad attitude earlier, I just remember about this place and wanted to look for it... I didn't expect so much time has passed..." Said the plant with a touch of sadness
"I see, cheer up tho, you found it and as you see I kept it well! She then look at the Impmon seeing that the Palmon ignored the lovebird part, she would try with him "What about you sweetie? Just helping your friend or interested in getting "something" else?" She took a sip of water just to hide her smile but one could totally still feel her smugness

While the Floramon's reassurance wasn't quite enough for the imp to fully lower his guard, if Bloom was willing to give her the benefit of doubt then so would he. No need to start a fight over nothing again.
He followed after the two, making his way into the humble cabin that both plants called a home. It was simplistic yes, but there was a rather cozy energy to be found in it, it was clear both Ollie and Bloom had cared a great deal about mantaining this place as well as they could during their time living there, and it showed.
Once they took their seats Dio simply kept quiet for the time being, quietly munching on his slice of the (admitedly quite tasty) cake. Just as he might have started to once again feel bad for the other plant however it was almost as if she flipped a switch inside her brain, her tearful and saddened expression turning into a peppy, delightedly smug one. That two faced, manipulating-
His outrage didn't last long, as the sadness in Bloom's voice rang louder than anything else, the imp feeling as if a clawed hand squeezed at the inside of his chest as this happened. It was hard to explain, but it didn't quite feel pleasant, that's for sure. What was really puzzling to him is in that small window of time his hand had somehow found itself laying closely to Bloom's, squeezing it gently. A small hint of a red blush appeared on the imp's features once again but...he didn't move his hand away. He did found himself giving a somewhat annoyed glare at Ollie as she oh so innocently sipped at her cup.
"Tch." The imp bit his lip, not liking how the smug plant put him in the spotlight like that, much less the way she said the word "lovebirds".
"Well first of my name is Dio, so you can drop the "sweetie". If you must know: I'm here to help a friend and to repay a favor. She helped me out a great deal when I was in...let's just say a dark place. If it weren't for her maybe I wouldn't have bounced back, so I owe her at least that much. That and I was...frankly kind of an ass to her when she helped. I think it's only fair for me to try and make it up somehow."
Was that truly it? Even he wasn't entirely sure, only that that's how it had started at the very least.

Bloom noticed Dio's hand slowly moving to hers and squeezing it, it was reassuring to know that the almighty Dark Lord did care for her in a way, that being said she didn't do anything but to look the other way just to hide her blush from him.
But truth be told as much as she or him tried to hide the blush and embarrassment, there was one plant in front row seeing it unfold in front of her eyes, it was obvious for Ollie that there was something more to them than just helping a friend or repaying a favor, but while she can make assumptions based on their attitudes, she can't confirm it, not unless she pushes the right buttons and that can be hard because pissing of the so called "dark lord" could spell problems for her
"Oh sweetie" She said with that smug smile still on her face "I call everyone sweetie, don't think your special, tho I have to say you are a very nice "dark lord" if you are helping a "friend", that's really nice of you" While she didn't do the motion, one could totally feel the air quotes when she spoke "If you don't mind me saying this tho, you know that sometimes less is more, right? I don't doubt that you have good intentions and you just want to pay your debt with a friend but...." She made a long pause and take a slice of the cake before continuing "You could just say "I'm here to help a friend and pay a favor" The rest felt as you trying to tell her something without addressing her directly, but what do I know? I'm just a plant that lives in the jungle" She said taking another bite of her slice of cake
And maybe the Floramon was right, Bloom stop paying attention to everything and backtrack in her mind to what Dio said,
"She helped me out a great deal when I was in...let's just say a dark place. If it weren't for her maybe I wouldn't have bounced back, so I owe her at least that much. That and I was...frankly kind of an ass to her when she helped."
Her eyes widen at that moment, intentional or not Dio said a lot of how he felt, the plant smiled widely at this realization, it meant he wasn't doing it out of pride or just to make her feel better, he actually cared and felt bad about what he did that day, if it wasn't because the Floramon is there she would hug him, but better change the subject to save the pride of the Dark Lord
"By the way Ollie, why did you had that trap?"
"Oh... That..." She look to the ground "Well... I didn't lie when I said that I have to take care of myself in some way in this wild environment, I'm a bit on the weaker side so I wanted to make this a safe place for me, you know how it ism the strong preys on the weak and I didn't want to lose the one place I can call home since I left the village of beginnings" She then looks at Bloom with a smile "But don't worry, I'll tell you every single one of them and leave if you want, it's your house after all"
The Palmon thought for some minutes, and then just shrugged "Truth be told, this was just a nostalgic trip for me, I already have a home and a human partner, I can't leave her and I see you really take care of this place so you can stay" Bloom then proceed to eat her slice of cake

Things seemed to be looking up for the moment, and Dio felt somewhat satisfied in himself with his answer, feeling he had covered all his bases and important points and most importantly having given Bloom a perhaps not too subtle apology and reasoning for being here, a reassurance that yes, he did care. He cared more than he had initially thought.
Unfortunately for him, he hadn't thought about the posibility of Ollie catching any of it.
Oh.
Oh crap no.
He recognized that smug look and grin on her dumb face. His face turned red with blushing even before she spoke a word, and it only got worse from there. Less was indeed more, yet that didn't stopped him from giving a subdued yet very blatant reaction to her. The reaction she was no doubt fishing for. Awkward fidgeting in his chair, his formerly gentle squeeze at Bloom's hand now turning into a more intense grip and of course, the ever present blushing.
Followed by an indignant tone and inellegant stammering.
"P-preposterous!" He snapped back. "I-I was merely giving you an answer. The Dark Lord would obviously have the courage to say such things directly! I-I think..."
He would have continued, but perhaps in a moment of self awareness he realized two key facts: firstly no matter what he said or did, Ollie had already won, and whatever he did now would only add more salt to his own wound. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly...he was behaving somewhat similarly to the time back when he was sick. Back when Bloom had helped him and he rewarded her efforts with vanity. Eyes locked on the ground, he seemed to calm himself down a peg, and let out a sigh. He couldn't make the same mistake twice.
He had to be honest.
"But...everything I said still holds true. I owe her a lot and...regardless of how I feel I wish to make it up to her. Because...I care. You may laugh, but it is what it is."
Luckily for him Bloom was willing (at least for now) to throw him a proverbial rope, moving the conversation away from such a touchy subject and into a good if simple question regarding the traps from before. The floramon gave the expected but logical answer: self defense. She had to play smartly if she wished to survive out here in the middle of the wilderness.
"Imagine that." He muttered to himself, sarcastic. Someone bigger and stronger having it out for the smug floramon? Oh, perish that thought! Regardless of how he felt about her or the house however, what Bloom said next came as a bit of a surprise to him. After the way she had reacted he was almost convinced she would have turned the small cabin into her safe haven again, even if only temporarily, but that wasn't the case at all. In a way he was...almost content about it: the place was rather hidden away and out of the way, and it would have made it significantly harder for him to find Bloom again if he so choosed...it was only then that he stopped to wonder why he cared so much about having an easier time meeting Bloom another day. He wasn't sure of the answer, though judging by the way he had been acted around her all day he had a sneaking suspicion on what it could all mean.
He wasn't going to give Ollie any more ammunition to put him in the spot again however, so he simply turned to face the palmon again.
"Are you sure?" Not wanting to put more pressure on her however, he soon tried to add something to fill the silence. "Well if you ever change your mind I wouldn't mind accompanying you here again..." Needless to say he almost immediatelly regretted his choice of words, or at least having said so in front of the all time queen of smugness, so he quietly hid behind his cup as he took another long drink.

Bingo~ Ollie thought as she saw the reaction her words created in the so called "Dark Lord" her smile just growing bigger with each second of seeing him trying to make an excuse, but he stop rather quickly and look at the ground, odd but once he spoke again Ollie understood, it must be really tough to eat your pride and speak with the heart, she can't blame him but it would be terrible if he keeps those feelings hidden
"I won't laugh, your feelings are 100% true, I can tell you are not lying, you got a really nice "friend", Bloom" She gave a wink at Dio, he can interpret that as he pleases, Ollie is not going to spell it out for him
More importantly was the fact that the Palmon was OK with leaving her this place, on one hand she was really happy for it, on the other confused, why would she want to do this? And before she could ask Dio spoke for her.
Bloom look around the small cabin before setting her sight on Dio, there was a lot she could say to answer his question, hell even she wasn't sure on what the best way to act in this situation was, but it would be selfish of her to take out this so far "innocent" Floramon who take so much care of the place.
"If I have to be honest... I'm not entirely sure" She sighed "I didn't even know what I wanted to do when I found this place even if it was empty, aside of a bit of a Nostalgic trip what would be the point? I live with Miyu now, she got me a holosuit to be able to live with her and not hide..." She look down for a second before continuing "I have a new life, shouldn't I focus on that instead of looking for the past? Would you leave Carlos if you get back everything your past self had? I'm just starting to think about it and I don't hace an answer, but I feel it would be selfish from me to be out for so long and then demand to have a place that doesn't belong to me anymore"
"If it helps in a way, I understand you, my idea was to give this place to its owner when it comes back, but if you are OK with giving me to me, the least thing I can do is keep the doors open for you and Mr. Dark Lord" The plant smiled
They spend a bit more time there talking and finishing the cake, after that it was time to go back home, once they were outside and waving goodbye to the Floramon all three heard a buzzing noise, it was far away yet at the same time it felt as getting closer rather fast.
Above them flying in circles there was a bug digimon it looked like Kuwagamon but this was bigger and most certainly meaner, his carapace being silver rather than the usual red, it quickly landed almost in front of them, it had some ropes dangling from its body most likely from a trap the Floramon put to stop other digimon but this big monster didn't really care about it
The Okuwamon started moving his head upwards almost as if sniffling around, it did knew that food was nearby, Ollie was completely froze seeing the size of the beast, she never saw an ultimate this close, as for Bloom while this wasn't her first meeting with the Kuwagamon species, it was the first with an Okuwamon and the first without Miyu, meaning she can't evolve to fight it, much like Ollie she was froze in fear as the beetle shake the ground with each step getting closer to her, bending over and opening it's huge mandible, she wanted to run but her legs weren't moving, the sole presence of that thing was enough to froze her completely...

Indeed Ollie's obviously expected response only seemed to exhacerbate Dio's reaction further, and while in the end he managed to stop himself, the damage was already done. His pride would surely take a while to heal back up after this. At the very least he could rest easy knowing he had already shown to Bloom what his true colors were, or at least a small fragment of them. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
As for Bloom's choice well...it was clear it wasn't an easy one, and as such she didn't have a clear answer for it either. The dark lord didn't need to even consinder the hypothetical Bloom asked him to understand what she had to be going through, but he couldn't help but consider that question too. What was worth more to him, who he once had been or what he was now and what he had built? He didn't have a good answer either, but he ultimately ended up agreeing with her. Losing something for a second time was not worth it, even if it meant recovering what he had initially lost.
"A year or so ago I would have probably answered you with a yes but now, I...I don't know. I don't think I could either." He said while shaking his head, rubbing the back of his neck. At the very least Ollie seemed not only happy with looking after the place but to some extent sharing it with both of them in the future, so there was at least that silver lining. Bloom's little corner would still remain just as she left it, and she was welcome to return any day. Probably the best possible outcome in a way, really.
As they began to leave however their goodbyes were cut short by the loud buzzing of positively giant wings. There was little time for him to process everything as the large, wretched bug landed in front of the trio and slowly began approaching. Much like the other two he froze, eyes wide and unsure of what to do. All the usual Dark Lord bravado seemed to have abandoned him in the presence of such a large foe without any kind of backup. Even if the three of them fought they were at a huge, unfair disadvantage. Furthermore, being faced by an ultimate while separated from Carlos yet again brought back some...painful memories, which certainly didn't help him get a move on when he could.
And then the creature got closer. And closer. But it wasn't aiming for him. It was approaching Bloom. His heart practically stopped as his breathing grew so panicked and frantic it was almost deafening. The fear of deletion or even worse was paralyzing yes, but the idea of seeing Bloom subjected to that without him doing anything was...too much to bear.
In an instant that couldn't have lasted more than a couple seconds he could feel his body move on it's own, rushing to Bloom's side before shoving his entire body into her's, pushing her aside and more importantly away from that massive insectoid mandible.
Though that wasn't all he did.
"Leave. Us. Alone." The imp's cold voice said, his fist covered in flames as he thrusted it downwards, punching the floor as a singular flaming pillar shoot from the ground and right into the creature's chin. Would it do anything? Probably not, but he had to at least try.

Everything seem to freeze at that point, every second felt like an eternity for Bloom, it was an alien feeling to her yet at the same time she felt as if she went through this before, of course it wasn't her first time facing deletion as she had a previous life but even then she couldn't muster the strength to fight back.
As the mandibles of the thing move closer to take the bite of its prey, she felt something pushing her out of the way and that snap her out of the fear paralysis, when she turn to look around she saw Dio stepping up to take against the Okuwamon
The Imp attacked the monstrous beetle with a pillar of fire hitting it right in the face, the Okuwamon didn't flinch from the attack and once the flames faded Dio would notice that it didn't even made a scratch on the beasts carapace, the silver beetle was now looking in direction to Dio and let out a roar getting ready to crush the little creature with its mandibles. but now it was time for Ollie to intervene, as she quickly wrap Dio with her vines and pull him closer to her!
"Aren't you suppose to be a dark lord? What are you waiting to evolve and eat that thing?" Of all the things Ollie saw through Dio, the dark lord act was not one, if anything she was expecting for Dio to prove himself a powerful hero by now
After that the Floramon would run towards the hole where Dio and Bloom first fell, she would look at the Okuwamon and throw some acid to the legs of the beast, much like Dio's attack it didn't had an effect, it was almost as if the Carapace of Okuwamon was indestructible.
While the attack prove ineffective it did draw the attention to Ollie who quickly jump down to the whole, Okuwamon hover to reach said hole and buried his head trying to catch the plant, that could've been her end but it seem that the hole was too deep or Okuwamon to big to fit and try as he might it didn't fully reach the plant at least the attention was of the two other mons
"What do we do?" Bloom said reaching to Dio with a notorius look of fear "Your attacks did nothing I don't think mine would do any difference... Please tell me you have a plan!"
