Trial by Fire and Smoke (Kitt)

The blazing X shape wave twisted and turned as it flew to Gio, leaving a mixed trail in its wake. A few leaves that happened to flew in Aurora Blazer's way quickly burned and disintegrated into small flaming embers, showcasing how hot Kitt's attack was. Had he utilized Exceed with the attack, it would have done more than left a huge burn mark on his opponent. But since this was a timed challenge, he didn't want to throw out everything in his arsenal just yet, only when he's in a tough pickle.
Much to Kitt's bewilderment, instead of Gio trying to actively avoid the attack, he decided to run straight at it. Was he crazy?! "Hey, get out of the way! It's gonna hurt you!" Kitt shouted.
To his surprise, the Black Guilmon seemingly vanished just as the attack was about to hit him, a cloud of black smoke was left in its place. His attack instead hit a nearby tree, the trunk exploding into many pieces with pieces of it flying around. Thinking that Dio had just disappeared, Kitt lowered his weapon and started to look around. He looked up to the trees to see if he was there, but to no avail. Strangely enough, he could still feel his presence, but where was he at? Certainly this wasn't some trick that Black Guilmon was playing on him to throw him off balance.
His left ear started to twitch as it picked up movement. Kitt turned around to see that the black cloud that was left when Gio disappeared suddenly began to move towards him. The black cloud approached him, with Kitt taking a few steps back to try and gain some distance, but to no avail. The black cloud then revealed itself to be Gio himself, who then lunged at him with his clawed paws coming straight at him.
"What?!" the Spadamon muttered to himself. This was something he'd never seen before. As Gio's paws got closer to grabbing him, Kitt revved the handle of the Blue Queen, a flammable liquid began to spray all over the blade. In last second decision, he started to spin around-- with blue flames coating each blade--to try and counter Gio's counter so he would be forced to gain some distance.
Comat Log:
Kitt reeves Blue Queen up, activating Exceed. Combat Passive:
Exceed - By pulling (or revving) the handle of his Blue Queen, Kitt can cause it to spray a flammable liquid over the blade, increasing the range and inflicting damage of the attack. It holds up to three Fuel charges which can be used to boost attacks for short benefits. He can charge up the fuel cells by simply revving the hilt. His attacks become more powerful depending on how much fuel cells he has charged up, but still only consumes one at a time, meaning he can consume extra fuel charges for more damage if he wants, but will take longer to charge. He can use it in tandem with his moves if he desires. If he decides to expend all three fuel charges into an attack, the engine blade will overheat, and he'll have to wait awhile until it cools down. Cooldown: three posts.
Kitt attacks with Blue Streak as a counterattack so Gio would back off. -Blue Streak [Exceed Only] - Unleashes a full spin equivalent to the number of fuel he had revved up while still pushing forward. Can be use if Exceed is activated. Cooldown: 1 post if one spin, 2 posts if two spins, 3 post if three spins.
Aurora Blazer: one cool down remaining.
Two fuel cells remain.

Truth be told, Gio was convinced his plan was flawless: nine times out of ten once he got this close to his own brother there was nothing stopping him from sending the small imp flying...wherever Gio pleased, really, and seeing how Kitt was around the same size as him he figured he'd do the same. Maybe he'd send him up into the sky, surely he'd enjoy being so high in the air, if only for a brief moment! Like a bird, or a...
"Huh?" Was really all the blackguilmon could muster a microsecond before Kitt began spinning, his blade moving along with him in a dangerously fast motion, something a target as big as Gio had no way of evading at this point.
The sheer power of his combined inertia with the sword's sent him tumbling...scratch that, flying a good couple of feets backwards, the guilmon grunting as he hit the ground and left a tall cloud of dust in his wake. He stayed on the ground belly side up for a moment as he tried to get his bearings, but soon he'd sit back up, his tail wagging back and forth excitedly as he looked in Kitt's direction, beaming.
"Heheh...that was so cool Mister Kitt!!" Why couldn't Dio be this lose when fighting him? It's like his brother held back, not wanting him to get hurt! To Gio that was such a silly thing to worry about honestly. Speaking of Dio, the imp would clap loudly once, waving at the blackguilmon as if trying to get his attention.
"Thirty seconds left! Make 'em count, Gio." He said, to which Gio gave a single, determined nod, getting back up on his fit with a quick jump. It was time to try something different with Kitt. Something a bit more volatile Gio rarely got to play around with. As the black scaled digimon rushed forward if Kitt paid enough attention he'd notice how his claws began to glow, a loud crackle piercing the air as they slashed through the air, aiming once again at the Spadamon with new found energy.
However, if Kitt managed to avoid the initial slash, unless he gained enough distance he'd be met with a rather *loud* surprise...
Gio is sent flying by Kitt's Blue Streak, and retaliates with Plasmic Release.
Plasmic Release: Gio charges up his claws with volatile plasma, which makes his next punch or slash do increased damage. The plasma can strike a single target for medium damage, but if it misses the plasma will detonate and spread out in a small area in front of Gio, being able to strike up to two targets at once but doing reduced damage.

Kitt was rather surprised that his last minute attack actually hit Gio. At first, he thought that the BlackGuilmon was just going to up and vanish into that smoke again. But catching a glimpse of his as he stopped spinning, it looked like he didn't expect it as well. As he tumbled back, he couldn't help but worry if he had went to far with this spin. Sure this was a timed training exercise, but he didn't want either of them to get hurt in the process. His worries died down as soon as Geo got back up, his eyes beaming at excitement as his tail swished back and forth. He breathe a sigh of relief, thanking the Sovereigns that he was fine, before blushing to his complement. "I-It was really nothing Mister Geo Sir," he said, "But that was really cool of you turning into black smoke to avoid my other attack. You almost got me right there!" It was still Kitt's goal to keep his distance from Gio for whatever long he has left. Besides Aurora Blazer, the rest of his attacks are melee-based. So if he wanted to engaged in close-ranged, he'll have to do it fast so he wouldn't have the chance to retaliate. Hearing from Dio that he only has thirty seconds remaining, his heart immediately started to race. He was close to the finish line, but it looked like Gio was preparing to go all out, his claws erupting into a plasma glow. The loud crackle made the air around him evaporate, making it difficult to breathe for Kitt. Reeving up Blue Queen, he looked at the fuel indicated to check to see if he had one more fuel cell, which there was. Perfect. With the clock counting down, it was now or never. As the Black Guilmon rushed forward, Kitt spun his weapon a few times, before rushing towards him as well, his blade shinning a bright blue, making the blue flames amplify even more. But before the two traded blows however, Kitt suddenly jumped up as high as he can into the air, throwing his Blue Queen at Gio that was still ablaze. If he decided to block them with his volatile claws, the fire should make erupt into a large explosion, assuming if it made contact that is. Combat Log:
Kitt charges at Gio with his Exceed-enhanced Blue Brave. Before they could exchange blows, Kitt decided to jump into the air and throw Blue Queen at Geo, intending for the flames to set out his plasma-covered claws. Blue Brave - Slices cleanly with its blades shining blue. If Exceed is activated, the blade will be coated in blue flames, further increasing his damage. No cooldown if used regularly. One cooldown with Exceed. Depletes one fuel cell with Exceed. Combat Passive: Exceed
0/3 Fuel Cells remain. Blue Queen overheats as a result. Cooldown: Three posts.

It would seem that for all of Kitt's aversion to combat, he could actually hold his own reasonably well in a fight, or at least on a simple sparring match. What he may have lacked in raw strenght like Gio he made up for in resourcefulness, or at least that's what Dio took away from his next move: throwing his blade at the airborne Guilmon in an attempt to keep him at bay for a bit longer.
Had Gio had any kind of air manio, he would have probably dodge such a telegraphed attack with ease...alas, he lacked any skill of that sort, so he was forced to take the attack head on, his claws slashing away the sword and detonating the plasma built up within them. A loud crackle soon followed the release of energy, accompanied by the guilmon tumbling to the ground again. He glared in Kitt's direction, slitted pupils eyeing the hoody wearing digimon as if waiting to see if he would follow up on that attack. He seemed ready to lunge at the Spadamon at any minute, and it seemed he was about to do so, but...
"Time's up!" The imp yelled, clapping a couple of times. "At ease, Gio."
As soon as he heard this the Blackguilmon's posture immediatelly relaxed, and he let himself pretty much flop back on his rump, gone was any semblance of the battle hungry creature from before, replaced by Gio's usually childish and somewhat sloppy moves and mannerisms.
"Aww, already?" He lamented, scratching the back of his head. Things were just getting fun! Well, it was better than nothing, at least. He gave a toothy grin in the spadamon's direction. "That was really fun Mister Kitt, thanks!"
As for Dio? He simply made his way next to the young spadamon and rather unexpectedly he...gave him a couple pats in the back, an encouraging smile on his face. "Most impressive, Kitt! If I'm being brutally honest, I didn't expect you to pull through this well, but I'll be damned if you didn't pass with flying colors. How you feeling? You're not too tired, I hope." Even the imp paused for a second at his own words, somewhat surprised and even taken aback. He had never treated anyone with this ammount of familiarity.
He cleared his throat a bit and took a mindful step back, giving his "student" some room to breathe. "Err...anyways, you may take a breather, we still have some training left."

As Kitt landed a good distance away from Gio, his Blue Queen rushed down, impacting Gio's plasma-layered claws. Just as he calculated, the blue flames around the blade his opponent deflected set off a chain reaction, causing a small explosion that send the Black Guilmon tumbling. Despite Gio excelling in strength alone, it seems he was not a critical and calculative thinker.
The Blue Queen impaled the ground, right in the middle between the two. Seeing as Gio was glaring dead at him, as if he was waiting for him to make another move. Kitt had to think of something fast. Without his weapon, he was pretty much vulnerable. He didn't excel when it came to melee combat.
Before either of them could make a move, Dio called time; the timed sparring match was over. As son as he heard that, the Spadamon flopped to the ground, panting. This was the first time in a while since facing that Black Gabumon that he had to exert this much energy. It felt good that all that effort paid off. A smile appeared on his face when Gio said sparring with him was fun. "No, thank you," he said, brushing off any sweat from his face. "You're pretty good yourself."
The Dark Lord then came up to Kitt, patting him on the back and congratulating him for his performance. A sma, ill blush appeared on his face. This meant a lot coming from someone older and much more experienced than him. When asked if he was feeling, Kitt gave him a peace sign, still panting. "Oh, I'm fine, Dio-sama. We can go to what you have-WHOA!"
He was trying to stand up, but instead he ended up falling over, landing on his belly. "You're right, I'll take a breather. Sorry for trying to over-exert myself."

"Easy there Kitt." The imp sighed, his head shaking as he crouched and offered the Spadamon a hand to get back up, or at least sit in a more comfortable position than laying face down on the floor.
He wanted to get on with the next step of his training but beating a tired Kitt around would accomplish nothing, he needed and had earned a break. Gio stared down at their trainee meanwhile, a worried glint in his eyes as he fell. He wasn't hurt, was he? He hadn't even gotten close enough to hit him!
"Oh oh! Should I get the thing?" He asked, clearly wanting to help out in some meaningful way. Dio looked at him and tilted his head, a look of clear confusion in his eyes.
"The thing?" He repeated, still seemingly confused for a moment before something seemed to click in his head, after which he gave a nod. "...right, that thing. Sure, kid here probably could use a refresher."
As the blackguilmon quickly dissapeared behind the bushes Dio simply let himself fall on his rump, sitting crosslegged next to Kitt. While he waited for his brother's return, he figured it was as good a time as any to ask the other rookie something that had been bothering the Dark Lord for a while.
"I have to admit, you're good with that fancy sword of yours Kitt. Did someone taught you how to use it? Or were you uhm...born with it I guess I should say." He asked, somewhat unsure. Was he overstepping his boundaries with a question like that? He didn't have much longer to ponder on that as he awaited an answer from Kitt, as Gio soon came back to the small clearing, carrying a big duffle bag that they had "borrowed" from Carlos' closet before leaving. He dropped the black bag in front of the two, it making a loud thud while its many contents followed suit. Dio reached for it and opened it, revealing the plastic containers, snacks and a singular bottle of water inside it. Clearly, fridge raiding had gone smoothly last night.
"Lunch break!" The guilmon proclaimed happily, grabbing a bag of crackers from within the duffle bag, which he then proceeded to rip open and let its contents fall into his mouth. Dio meanwhile calmly reached with both hands and took out the water bottle and a small paper bag, before handing them to Kitt.
"Knock yourself out kid, these here rice thingies were made by my tamer, so at the very least they won't give you food poisoning."

Seeing the Dark Lord offering him a hand, Kitt took it and quickly was plopped into a seated position. Despite him wanting to lay down for a little bit, he rather lay down on a nice, comfy mattress than the dirty ground.
He continue to pant for a bit before finally catching his breath. This was the first time in like, ever that he overworked himself. As Kitt said earlier, he wasn't much of a fighter, so he never rarely felt the need to even train or exercise unless it for wasting time. He was more into meditation than anything else.
As Gio talked about getting 'a thing' to Dio, Kitt tilted his head a bit in confusion. A refresher, like water or something? Kit was thirsty, but judging from the area they were in, there doesn't seem to be any lake bed around for miles, so what kind of refresher they were talking about?
Before he could ask, the Black Guilmon went in to the bushes behind them, disappearing from their sights. Kitt readjusted his posture and sat on his knees, waiting patiently for his return. Dio then flopped right next to him, complimenting his swordsmanship with his Blue Queen and asking how did he get so good with it. Kitt blushed a bit.
"Oh uh- thank you. That really means a lot", he replied. "Actually I taught myself how to use it. When I first evolved into a Spadamon, it appeared in my hand out of nowhere. I took it to a blacksmith and they told me they've never seen something like it before. They said it was a 'technological marvel' or something." He grabbed his weapon and looked at it. "I call it the Blue Queen due to the blue flames it emits. I-Is it a cool name?"
Gio soon came back carrying a bag, dropping it in front of them, making a loud thud noise when it hit the ground. Dio opened the bag, taking out lots of food. As Gio munched on some circle-squared snacks, Dio meanwhile gave Kitt a small paper bag along with a bottle of water.
"Thank you so much Dio-sama," KItt gleamed. Looking into it, he grabbed what the Impmon described as "rice thingies." After sniffing them for a couple seconds, Kitt took a bite out of it; it was delicious.
"It's so good!" he mused, happily taking another bite. He turned to Dio. "Is Tamer another word for chef, i'd imagine? Because they really know how to cook."

"Self taught huh? Then perhaps you don't really need the Dark Lord's help as badly as I expected." The impmon said, scratching his chin. Truth be told, had he met Kitt some time ago, he would have probably challenged him to a duel for that very reason...though if the imp would have made it out was debatable at best. That said Kitt's following question, while relatively minor to anyone else struck a sensitive nerve with Dio. It was odd for once to be someone that was looked up to by...anyone really. At least that's the impression he got out of the small lion's question, why else would Kitt ask him of all people if that name was cool or not?
"Kid, I'll let you in on my secret: it doesn't matter if others think it sounds cool, if you yourself believe it hard enough then it probably already is." He smirked, giving a light if playful flick of his index finger against the Spadamon's forehead. "...but yeah, that's a nice name."
At any rate, while the three enjoyed this nice moment of calm and delicious food, Kitt would once again ask another question that stopped Dio's munching as he thought of an answer. Right, how was one supposed to explain how humans and digimons partnering worked to someone not in the know?
"Chef? Not quite, more like...uh...it's kinda hard to explain, now that I think about it..."
"Oh, Carlos is like another big brother! We live, sleep, eat and play together, and when we need it most we draw power from him to fight. It's like we're family!" The guilmon chimed happily in between bites, though it was difficult to make out most of what he said, what with his mouth being stuffed full of food even as he kept talking, but at least Dio seemed to get the gist of it.
"If a side of your family, was human, I guess." He shrugged, munching absentmindedly on another riceball, smiling to himself as he did. "He's more than just my chef, that's for sure, and a man of many flaws and virtues. Much like myself, I suppose but...I've become quite fond of him."
With that said however, he'd dust himself and jump back to his feet. "Take your time with your breakfast kid, as soon as you're done we'll be going to the next step in your training."

Kitt blinked, a bit surprised by the Dark Lord's quick response. To be honest, this was the first time that he'd told anyone the name of his weapon. He didn't even tell it to either Eris or Mr. Logane because despite being really close to them, especially to the former, he thought they were perceive it as cute and not, well, cool. But to hear the older, somewhat menacing Impmon say that as long as he believed it was cool, then it was all that really mattered. That sentence alone made the Spadamon unable to respond to what he said since due to the circumstances of his early years, he didn't exactly came out with the best confidence in himself.
The Dark Lord then playfully flicked him on the forehead, telling him that Blue Queen was a nice name. Rubbing the spot from under his head armor piece, he gave the biggest smile, probably the biggest smile he'd ever give in well, ever. "Thanks," he respond.
To his question on whether if the word Tamer was another fancy word for chef, Dio struggled a bit to find the word until Gio explained that this Tamer, who's name was Carlos, was like an older brother to them. Dio described him as a person with many flaws and virtues, but ultimately, viewed him as part of his family.
On top of that, this Carlos was a human, which made Kitt a bit wide eyed. He'd never seen a human before, he'd only hear stories from other Digimon, before he met Eris. Apparently they come from another world that was somewhat liked their own, but completely different in everyway. He doesn't even know what they look like or if they were dangerous or not. But, If this Carlos was someone both the Dark Lord and Gio looked up to, they maybe most of them weren't dangerous then.
Going back to munching on his rice thingies, Dio declared that they were going to the next part of his traning when they were finished eating, which made the Spadamon more curious.
"What is the next step of my training, Dio-sama?" Kitt queried, tilting his head in a somewhat cute manner. "Is it going to be more challenging then the last? Will it allow me to gain the strength to digivolve?"

"Pft, don't mention it, Kitt." Dio laughed, shaking his head and giving the Spadamon another small pat on the back. Honestly there was something almost downright therapeutic about seeing the usually meek and quiet Spadamon smile so much. It was amazing to see what some positive reinforcement could achieve, honestly.
The blackguilmon was quick to interject, his mouth still full of food even as he spoke, "Yeah, it's almost as cool as your moves, Kitt!" Gio said, with a nod filled of certainty. Dio rolled his eyes a bit, chuckling slightly. "Alright, let's not overdo it, lest all the compliments get to the kid's head."
That said, Kitt soon asked the big question: what next? Dio seemed deep in thought for a moment, not so much because he didn't know what came next, but rather because he was thinking what a good ring to it the title "Dio-Sama" had. That said, he was quick to turn to the Spadamon and finally give him a proper answer.
"Well, I can only give you the tools and show you the way to evolution, kiddo. Getting there? Entirely up to you." Dio shrugged getting up to his feet and dusting himself off a bit, turning his back to Kitt as he took a couple steps in the opposite direction. "As for challenging? Well that too depends on you, but I'd like to believe it will be a bit harder than the last trial."
Having said that he'd turn around (rather dramatically if I might add) to face the Spadomon, before giving him a corteous looking, if slightly sarcastic bow, smiling as if amused by something.
"You're gonna be facing me now. Rules are simple, whoever knocks the other one down three times wins. As for the loser?" Bis smile would turn into a smirk filled with nothing but a smug confidence, something that would no doubt harken Kitt's memory back to their first meeting. He'd then add with an almost unnoticeable evil tone to his voice. "Well, he has to do whatever the winner wants for the next two hours." After which, he'd take a defiant step forward, his battle ready pose wordlessly goading Kitt to join in the fun.
Gio, who had just walked a safe distance away from the two was now looking intently at them and had begun clapping excitedly, smiling all the while. "I love this game. Good luck, guys!"
"So, this sound good to you, Kitt?" As soon as his words left the imp's mouth he'd break into a run, aiming to get close to the spadamon that with any luck would still have a low guard, the imp's fist glowing a deep blue light as it seemed to encase itself in ice. Once he was close enough he'd swipe his hand low, almost parallel to ground level, an icy chain shooting out from it and aiming to wrap itself around Kitt's ankles. If it were succesful? He'd quickly pull from it, most likely making the Spadamon lose his balance and hopefully tumble to the ground. Nobody said they had to fight fairly.
"By the way, I won't take a no for an answer."
The ruthless training continues! Dio attacks Kitt with ChaineD, hoping to give himself an early advantage.
[RAM Upgrade] ChaineD: A more refined version of his bootleg saberk D-Edge skill, Dio summons a frozen ice chain made out of purple energy. It can be extend up to 13ft, latch on to most surfaces with ease and can't be melted. If used against an enemy it will coil itself around them, causing medium damage and rooting anything below armor champion for one post. Three posts cooldown.

Kitt's smile grew even more big when the Impmon patted him on the back as well as the Black Guilmon's compliment, his tail sticking straight up, showing a sigh of happiness. The Spadamon was blushing so hard that the white fur on his cheeks were tinted pink, but he tried his best to alleviate it as he continued to much on the rice treats, though he couldn't help but softly laugh.
When he first met the two, he had thought they were nothing but burglars that somehow kidnapped him from Eris and Logane's home. But after getting to gauge their personalities and their mannerisms, he now saw that they were some pretty nice guys, despite their somewhat rough appearance. Now he saw why Eris was so well acquainted with the Dark Lord; he hoped that after this, he could get to know more about him.
Dio then responded that he could only give him the basic steps on how to evolve as he walked away from him and Gio. Typical, but expected. And as for the next trial, the Spadamon's facial expression would change from relaxation to surprise almost instantly as he heard who he would be facing next: the Dark Lord himself.
"M-Me? Against you?!" His tone projected anxiety even when his mouth was full before he quickly gulped it down. It didn't help that the Impmon had a sinister smile on his face, something that was the complete opposite of the warm smile that he had before. Seeing Gio retreat to a safe distance, he quickly stood up, twiddling his thumbs in a nervous manner. He didn't like where this was heading.
"I don't think I'll be as much as a challenge for you, Dio-sama. Your leagues ahead of me, like Eris. I'll more or less be a punching bag, or a fly compared to you. I mean- GAH!"
Kitt's words would fell on death ears as Dio charged at him. The Impmon swiped his hand near the ground, summoning chains made out of purple energy. Since he didn't had enough time to react, the chains would wrap around his legs, so tight that he would lose his balance and fall to the ground.
"It's cold!" he yelped as he tried to uncoil the chains around his ankles but to no avail. Hearing the Dark Lord's response, he was serious about this. Seeing that there's was no passive way to get out of this except for one, Kitt grabbed his Blue Queen, and would use it to cut the chains. If it were successful, he would retreat a few paces back, taking a defensive pose.
"Alright, I'll give you everything I got, Dio-sama!" he said, his eyes meeting his. For better or worse, he wasn't coming out of this unscathed.

There was a momentary pang of guilt that hit the Dark Lord as his attack threw the unaware Spadamon to the ground. He bit his tongue for a moment, but didn’t back down. If he did so now it would turn this entire exercise pointless.
“You’re getting too soft for this, dumbass…” He silently cursed himself, before pointing his finger at the prone Kitt who had just compared himself to a punching bag of all things.
“That’s exactly the point, kid! Life can be unfair as hell, same thing with battles. You can’t always expect to face others on equal terms, sometimes you’ll have an unfair advantage over them, and sometimes they will have one over you. If you can’t step up to that challenge then might as well hide under a rock forever, else the world will eat you alive!” He loudly proclaimed, a small hint of knowing bitterness in his tone. He had had his large share of unfair fights already after all.
Besides his charged words about life and “fairness” however, there was something else to this exercise he wasn’t sharing with the young digimon, at least not yet. Something he himself had learned long ago when digivolving for the first time, and what could possibly help trigger it. But to reach that he had to keep pushing the Spadamon further. For his own good.
“Now get up, quit your whining and show me your war face!” He demanded as the white cub cut the chains apart with his sword. The imp gave a confident smirk as he slowly began approaching Kitt, rising a closed fist up to his own face.
“That’s strike one, you got two falls left…” As he said that he broke into a sprint, his fist glowing with an unnatural purple hue. Once he was less than a couple feet away from Kitt he’d plunge his fist downwards, striking the ground. If Kitt failed to move from where he was standing he’d soon find the ground below his feet would start to warm up rapidly, and that would be his last warning before a large, fiery column of purple flames would erupt from the ground as Dio let out a wicked cackle.
Dio now charges in and tries to hit Kitt from below with Pillar of Fire.
Pillar of Fire: Punches the ground and either surrounds himself in a fiery pillar or creates a small wall of fire. Said fire can last up to one post. Two posts cool down.

Kitt looked away for a few seconds to ponder on the Dark Lorrd's harsh advice. He was right; the Digital World wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, for even the biggest and wealthiest places brimming with light can cast the darkest shadow. If he wasn't careful, it would beat him to his knees and keep him their permanently if he let it. He knew it for a fact; he experienced it first-hand himself. One thing was clear: he needed to be strong. Not just for himself, but for Eris, Ophelia, and Logane. He can't always rely on them comforting him forever, so it was time to start acting that way. After picking himself up off the ground, Kitt took a deep beath, puff up his chest, and showed Dio his "war face." To Dio and Gio however, the Spadamon's war face wasn't exactly mean per-say as his cheeks were all puffed up with glints of red blush. The only thing that would fit the war face criteria would be his silt pupils. It wasn't the best war face, but to Kitt, it was the best meanest face he'd ever gave. As Dio readied himself for combat, so did Kitt, putting himself in a high guard position, gripping his Blue Queen in a reverse grip behind his back with his right arm while stretching his left arm outward, anticipating what his teacher was going to do first as he slowly started to approach him. Kitt breathed through his nose, calming down his DigiCore. He readied himself, revving up his weapon as a visible, fiery flame started to coat both blades, while Dio charge at him, with his first coated in a purple energy. Expecting the Dark Lord to hit him with a melee attack, Kitt took a step back from the Impmon as he struck his fist towards the ground, puzzling him for a second. Feeling the soil he was standing heating to uncomfortably hot levels, Kitt's first instinct was the roll away to the side, opposite to where the ground was heating up, and managing to avoid the large pillar of flames erupting from the ground. Letting the opponent go first was a classic tactic that Kitt took away from Eris, giving the defender ample time to dodge, and luckily for her partner in crime, Kitt was somewhat of a quick learner. Of course for this match, Kitt wasn't going to hesitate to Dio. So the moment he finished his dodge roll, he charged towards the Dark Lord from the side, and swung his blade down in one swift motion, firing a giant blue 'x' shaped wave towards the Impmon, aiming directly at his blind spot. The Spadamon promised he'll give everything he's got, and that's what he'll do. Combat Log:
Kitt revves Blue Queen up, activating Exceed.Active Passive:Excced - By pulling (or revving) the handle of his Blue Queen, Kitt can cause it to spray a flammable liquid over the blade, increasing the range and inflicting damage of the attack. Kitt dodge rolls out of the way from Pillar of Fire. Immediately after that, he retaliates by firing back at Dio with an Exceed-powered Aurora Blazer.Aurora Blazer - Kitt draws his engine blade back, wind circulates around them and he slashes, releasing a blazing wave in the shape of an X towards the enemy. If Exceed is activated, the wave will become more larger with a large blast radius, leaving a blue flaming trail in the aftermath. Cooldown is one without exceed. Two with Exceed. Depletes one fuel cell with Exceed.

In an odd, roundabout way, Kitt's attempt at a "war face" as Dio eloquently put it did made the imp hesitate if just for a second, though not for the reasons the Spadamon planned. The puffed cheeks and determined look on the rookie's face gave off to Dio the impression that he was fighting a confused kid trying his damnest to act tought which...granted, was partly the case. But despite how frankly adorable the Spadamon looked, his earnestness and downright feral look was enough for the imp not to break down in a fit of laughter right there and then.
His heavily telegraphed attack was, as expected, easily avoided by Kitt, though what the imp didn't expect was the strenght that came from his retaliation. The hot blue flames from the Spadamon attack hit against the Dark Lord's side like a fire covered truck, sending him tumbling some ways away from the Spadamon. The imp stood still for a moment, his body laying belly side up on the ground as he stared up into the sky with a look of mild pain and surprise.
As he stood up and dusted himself off however, he didn't snap at the spadamon, or even so much as berated him. He simply let out am amused chuckle, before turning to Kitt, smiling.
"That's right, that's the energy I was talking about!" He said with a nod, grinning gleefully. "If you don't stand your ground and lash out when you need to then everyone will continue to walk over you."
As he said this Kitt would probably notice energy converging in both of the imp's hands as he clasped them together, forming a singular larger ball of dark energy between the two.
"Don't let up kid, don't stop until you're sure the world will leave you alone!" With that he sent out his attack, the beach ball sized ball of flames flying down towards the Spadamon.
Dio takes the full brunt of Kitt's attack, and retaliates with Primordial Burst.
Primordial Burst: Combines both fire and ice magic to launch a sphere of dark energy from his hands. It’s considerably stronger than his other attacks, and as such takes more energy to perform. Two post cooldown.
Cooldowns:
ChaineD (2/3)
Pillar of Fire (1/2)
Primordial Burst (0/2)

Kitt wasn't taking this battle lightly. Even though his main strategy for fighting was to swiftly retaliate after dodging an attack, because that was when opponents were at their most vulnerable, he was still at a disadvantage when it came to battle experience compared to Dio. That meant he had to really keep his eyes on him if he wanted to succeed. He wanted to make his new master proud. He had landed a good blow on Dio in his first move, watching the Impmon tumbling to the grass. At first Kitt thought he had went too far in that attack, prompting him to pause for a moment. He expected the Dark Lord to scowl at him, complaining how painful the attack was. But to his surprise, he wasn't. Instead he laughed and complimented Kitt on his attack, promoting the Spadamon to give a smile. "Right, Lord Dio-sama!" he responded, readying his weapon again. "And now we're one and one."Thus, he watched as energy build up in Dio's hands, forming a large ball of dark energy. Judging how strong the attack looked, Kitt probably had no way of dodging it successfully. But, that just means that he'll have to improvise as he goes. Revving up his Blue Queen, he positioned himself in a stance as Dio sent out the ball of energy. Once the sphere got close enough, Kitt dodge stepped out of the way at the last second. His left shoulder grazed the sphere however, taking a little brunt of damage. But still, it was better than being knocked down. Clutching his shoulder in pain for a second before readying his weapon, he charged at Dio, his blade shining blue with flames to boot, and aimed to slice at him. Combat Log:Kitt dodges Primoridal Burst at the last second, his left shoulder taking the brunt of the damage in response. He then charges at Dio with an Exceed-powered Blue Brave. [RAM Upgrade] ExceedBy twisting the grip of his weapon as if revving a motorcycle engine , Kitt can cause it to spray a flammable liquid over both blades, increasing the range and inflicting damage of its attack. It can up to five fuel phials in total, so this amp-up state is limited. Depending on the ability, each attack consumes one fuel phial at a time.If all five fuel phials are expended, the engine blade will overheat, and he'll have to wait awhile until he can use this ability again. Cooldown: three posts. Blue Brave - Slices the opponent cleanly with the dual blade shining blue. If Exceed is activated, the blade will be coated in blue flames, further increasing his damage. No cooldown if used regularly. Cooldown: one post with Exceed. Depletes one fuel phial with Exceed. 2 fuel cells used; 3 fuel phials remain.
