"Ophi! Ophi! Have you heard back from Kitt yet? When's he gonna be here?"
"Yeah he messaged me not too long ago - he should be here soon."
"What's he like? I can't wait to meet him, you said he was a Spadamon like you?"
"Yeah! A smaller guy, and a bit timid, but he's nice to snuggle with, and he's got a ton of spirit deep down!"
It was at the entrance to a mountain pass, leading deeper into the mountains - deeper than the lifts reached, and deeper than most people went for simple skiing and sledding - that Ophelia and Cassie would be waiting. The snow wasn't too deep - having been mostly packed down from digimon passing thru on an occasion - though what wasn't packed down still reached partway up Ophelia's calves. The wind, too, was blowing a little more strongly than normal - but between the duo's fur and adaptation to the cold, neither of them were particularly bothered by it. It just was one of those days, to the duo - save for one thing, that was.
And that thing was that they were waiting for a friend; a little Spadamon named Kitt, to be exact! Ophelia was planning on a trek up into the mountains, so that they could meet with her family, and she figured - what better time for Kitt to meet Cassie, and her family, than now? So, she had used the D-Nexus to call Kitt, and arrange for them to meet here - so that they could all go up into the mountains, together!
Whilst they waited though, Cassie would be the bundle of energy that she was - bouncing around Ophelia, sometimes quite literally, and asking numerous questions about this Kitt that they would be meeting soon. "Ooh, does he like fighting like you do?" "Not really, though he's not half bad at it, when he does get into a fight!" "Does he like snuggling like we do?" "Sometimes, though I think he prefers people he knows more." Ophelia couldn't help but chuckle at seeing her sister's enthusiasm - hopefully Cassie wouldn't bowl Kitt over with all of her excitement, he probably already had enough of that from when she first met him!
Though admittedly, Ophelia was full of building energy, herself - her tail twitching with anticipation as she fidgeted a little in place. Maybe she should spar with Mom, or Kitt, once they got to the den! In fact, that could be a great idea - that way, she'd really get to show Mom how she was improving! Nonetheless though, for now, all they could do was wait - Ophelia answering Cassie's endless questions as they did.
"Does Kitt do that weird eyelid thing I see you do sometimes?"
"... What??"
"... Guess that's a maybe, then."

"Man, this cold really does bring me back..."
A light snow shower had just started to fall while Kitt made his way through the path, the snow starting to stick to his navy blue coat. He push his hood over his head some more due to the cold wind picking up speed. Normally he would have some adaptation to this climate since he was from this region, but spending his days either exploring temperature climates for treasure and baking in the warm city in the skies known as Luminas City, the young Spadamon, for the most part, kind of forgot what it was like living in a cold environment. As a result, his fur coat hasn't started to puff out yet.
Still, that wouldn't stop him from meeting up with Ophelia: the older, more fierce and pure of heart Spadamon that he became friends with a couple of weeks ago. It was only a few days ago that he got a message from her, asking if he wanted to come over her house and have a sleepover. He was a bit reluctant at first, seeing as there was the off chance that Ophelia might have a large family, and he doesn't do so well when there's too much attention to him, but he eventually agreed to it nonetheless. Since Kitt was still inept with this kind of technology, he had to ask Eris for help as to how to reply to the message on his D-Terminal. Eris would have tagged along with him, but she had to go out on a job with Logane. Nevertheless, she told him to have a good time and stay safe, and if something goes wrong, she'll come flying to the cold mountains like a mad Locomon.
As he continued on following the tall trail that was on top of the entrance to the mountains, he hear voices underneath him. Looking over the edge, he spotted two people: one who was defiantly Ophelia, and the other was someone new - a Gomamon-X to be exact. Was that a friend of hers? He wasn't sure.
"Ophelia!" he called out. Seeing that the only way down was to use something to skid down, he took out his weapon, Blue Queen, and use one of the blades to scale down the small slope, making a bit of snow fall on him in the process. As soon as he was in safe enough distance from the ground, he de-materialized the blade, landing about a couple of feet next to the two. "Long time no see!"

"What do you mean by 'weird eyelid thing', anyways?"
"Y'know! Like, you have another eyelid under the eyelid we see, but I think people don't usually see it! I only saw it cause you were pretty conked out,"
"Cassie I love ya, but I don't know what the hell you're talking ab-..."
Ophelia would trail off, as a familiar voice called out to her - making her ears prick, and Cassie startle a little. The duo would both glance up the ridge, to see none other than Kitt, skidding down the steep slope, using his Blue Queen to ease the trek down! Ophelia would perk up visibly, and grinned widely - waving to Kitt as she called "Heeyyy Kitt! Talk about an entrance!" Cassie would perk up at this, too, at realizing that this Spadamon was indeed the Kitt they were waiting for! This was the lil bro that Ophelia was talking about! As Kitt landed, Ophelia would be quick to hug him, purring happily, and tail swishing, "How've you been doing, bro??" She'd ask excitedly, bunting against his shoulder.
Cassie would go to join in the hug, though.... What Kitt would be quick to learn, was that the little Gomamon-X was stronger than she looked, and she didn't know how to control that strength! Over-enthusiastically, Cassie would practically bowl into the two of them, and Ophelia would yelp - "Gyah!" - as they all ended up tumbling into the snow! Ophelia would end up laughing a bit - the snow, thankfully, cushioned much of the fall - all the while, Cassie would be on top of the both of them, chattering excitedly. "Hiiii, Kitt! It's nice to finally meet you!" She'd greet him, "Ophi's been telling me a bunch about you!"
Still laughing, Ophelia would gently nudge Cassie off the both of them - moving into a seated position. "Eaaaasy, Cassie - I don't think Kitt wants to knock his head into something again." She'd gently chide the Gomamon-X - to which Cassie blinked, before growing sheepish as she realized what she did. "Oh! Sorry, I guess I got too excited..." She'd apologize, gently bunting Kitt, and offering "I can heal you up if you're hurt at all..!" Either way, Ophelia would reach over to ruffle the red fur atop Cassie's head, exhaling gently, before glancing to Kitt. "Good to see ya though, Kitt." She'd mention to him with a grin - before starting introductions. "Cassie, this is indeed Kitt - coolest little bro you'll ever have - and Kitt, this is my sister, Cassie!"

Kitt perked a bit when Ophelia went in to hug him. He smiled. wrapping his other arm around her, feeling a bit more warmer for seeing her. "Ah, just really cold 'n stuff," he replied, "I guess my body's still trying to get use to this climate since I'm used to living in warmer weather."
He then noticed the Gomamon-X behind Ophelia, but didn't say anything. Not for the moment anyway. Still it was intriguing to see a Digimon with the X-Antibody vaccine up-close. He had only hear stories of X-Antibody Digimon from his travels, often turning the tide of battle when things were looking bleak due to the radical transformation they took.
Just before he could ask the Spadamon who her friend was, the Gomamon-X immediately pounce on the two, making the unsuspecting lion Digimon yelp in surprise. Whoever they were, they were strong despite their small appearance, All three of them tumbled into the snow as a result. Kitt then picked his head up, spitting out any snow that got in his mouth. He would then be surprised again as the Gomamon-X was a couple inches close to his face, their bright, green eyes beaming onto him like a search light.
Kitt was hesitant to respond to her at first, seeing as he didn't took too keen on her tackling the two of them with little to no warning. When the Gomamon-X called Cassie asked if he wanted to be healed up, Kitt raised up his hand, signaling that he was ok. They did fell in snow after all.
Ophelia then introduce the Gomamon-X as her sister, which caught him a bit off-guard. "Yep, you're her sister alright." Kitt commented, rising up to his feet, brushing snow off his jacket. No wondered why she tackled them, Ophelia did the same thing when they first met. He extended his hand out to Cassie in a formal gesuture. "I-It's pleasure to make your acquaintance, Cassie-san."

"Cold, even with this thing?" Ophelia joked lightly, gently poking Kitt's hoodie as she did. "But yeahhh, I getcha on the fur part; my fur's been shedding a bit, since I've been spending more time in warmer climates!" She'd remark with a laugh, glancing down at herself - it was still plenty thick, and would still protect her from the cold, but it was still a bit of a mess, waking up with tiny strands of fur everywhere!
Ophelia, personally, wasn't aware of the X-Antibody's significance. All she knew, was that it tended to give digimon a boost, and changed their appearance a bit! Which, frankly, was what happened with Cassie - given that her surprising strength wasn't really prevalent in her in-training and fresh forms. In fact, in thinking of it... Wasn't Eris' other forms X-Antibody forms, too? Ophelia hummed to herself, thinking it over some, wondering if that had to do with her core issues...
... Well, she didn't have much time to think it over - much like Kitt didn't have a chance to ask about Cassie before the Gomamon-X made her pounce, Ophelia didn't have much time to think! Cassie was always a little bit overenthusiastic, much like herself - though it probably didn't help that it was hard to balance and hug with flippers, too!
Nonetheless though, the three of them would get back up, and go through introductions. Cassie giggled a bit at Kitt's comment, grinning sheepishly - "It probably doesn't help that Ophi and Lae always say that I don't know my own strengths, I sometimes knock them over on accident, too..!" She'd muse out loud - which was true, she tended to have a hard time regulating it. Nonetheless though, she'd happily shake hands - or flippers, in her case - with Kitt, "It's nice to meet you too, Kitt! But what does the 'san' bit mean...?" The Gomamon-X would tilt her head curiously - seeming genuinely confused. She'd eventually grin and giggle, mentioning "My name's just Cassie - Or Cassandra, if you really want to - silly!"
Ophelia would giggle with for a second - it seemed that being as they grew up in the mountains, that Cassie would probably be a bit unfamiliar of certain social customs, even if she had handshakes down. "Ya don't need to be so formal, Kitt. She's just my sister," She would mention casually, playfully 'ruffling' the top of his head thru his hood - though being mindful not to mess the hood up too badly. "You ready to start moving, anyhow? It'll be a decently long trek, to get up the mountain to our territory." And it'll probably be a cold one, too - with the wind. Ophelia was confident they'd be fine, though; it didn't look like it'd be storming anytime soon.

"Oh, um... the 'san' part is an honorary title use to give respects to someone you're unfamiliar with." Kitt explained, shaking her flipper. "In the way I used it, it meant 'Ms.'" It surprised him a bit that Cassie didn't knew about honorifics; this was something he was taught when he was a Wanyamon. Though given the rural-ness of this area, it was understandable that someone like her wasn't taught that.
When Ophelia said Kitt didn't had to act so formal, he beamed a bit red from embarrassment, then chuckled a little. "S-Sorry. It's a force of habit, really." he shrugged. If there was more people in Ophelia's family, it was gonna be a bit hard to shy away from being so formal. He is meeting new people after all.
Seeing how far the track was up the mountain, Kitt nodded in agreement to Ophelia. Suddenly a cold breeze swooshed around them, making the young Spadamon grab both his shoulders and started to shiver, his teeth chattering. "Yeah, let's make haste. I don't want to be outside in this cold for anymore than I have to." If he had his winter coat, the cold wouldn't be a problem.

Cassie nodded at Kitt's explanation on the meaning to 'san' - seeming quite intrigued. Learning about things from the world beyond the mountains was cool; there was still so much she didn't know quite yet! And this was an honorary title...?? Her eyes were wide and awed, as she responded "I never realized that we were that important!" which... That response of hers would raise the question of whether she actually knew what Kitt meant by 'san' being an honorific... Did she take it as a literal honor?
Ophelia, in any case, didn't take the time to correct Cassie - cause she actually wasn't sure, either! Instead, she'd just laugh gently at Kitt's embarrassment, and would give him a playful light punch in the shoulder, grinning widely. "C'mon, just treat us like old friends or family, you're more or less family to us already!" Ophelia would remark with a playful grin - Cassie excitedly nodding in agreement. "Yeah! I just met you, but you already seem like you'd be a great lil bro!" She chirped genuinely - smiling warmly.
With Kitt's agreement for them to begin trekking upwards though, Ophelia and Cassie would both nod. "Let's go, go, go!" Cassie chirped eagerly, already starting off up the trail - drawing a laugh from Ophelia as she took Kitt's hand for them to follow after her sister. Interestingly enough, though Cassie wasn't the fastest on land - she made it up with the fact that her body was one gigantic snowshoe, allowing her to push herself along atop of the snow where most digimon would have to trudge through it. As they made their way along, though - Cassie would glance back to Kitt. "Hey, Kitt... Where do you come from, if you're used to warmer weather, unlike me and Ophi?" She'd ask curiously, tilting her head.

Kitt would blink confusingly when Ophelia and Cassie expressed that he's like family to them, unable to find a response that would be suitable. He then got lost in his thoughts when they began their track up the mountain... Family, huh...
Looking at his hand that was wrapped around Opehila's, It really surprised him that someone like Cassie would look at him as a little brother even though they've just met. She didn't really know anything about him, only whatever Ophelia told about him he'd assume. To him, it was weird that people would accept him so easily despite not knowing anything about him. He was not weirded out by it by no means, but something like family was still alien to him despite living with Eris and Logane. He was used to the opposite before he met Eris, the opposite being in which everyone around him would not even show a hint of compassion to him. It was something that he was trying to get over now that he has a new life, but it always creeped back in when moments like this happen.
Rubbing his hand over his face, Kitt sighed to himself, deciding to put the thoughts far from his mind right for now. It was not the time or the place to start self-loathing. He would have to say something, eventually, when things get too far if he meets the rest of her family.
As they continued, Cassie asked Kitt where'd he come from. Kitt almost bubbled over since he did not want to bring up any memories he'd had buried about his earlier years in this region. However, he decided to just make things a bit cryptic.
"Oh, you know, here 'n there n' stuff," he answered, looking around sheepishly. "I usually travel sometimes since I don't like being in one place. But I do live with a close friend in the Empyrean Skies if that's what you're asking."

The line between family and friends were a bit blurred, admittedly, for the duo. They were never really socialized to other people before they began adventuring out beyond the mountains, even if Callus taught them a little bit. Otherwise, for most of their childhood, all they knew was their family. So, they couldn't help but equate friends to family to a small degree - cause if they trusted and cared for a friend enough, what was the difference between them and family beyond related data, really? And if Kitt and Ophelia referred to each other like siblings, wouldn't that mean that Cassie and Kitt were, in a way, siblings too? That was their logic for handling this, at least - and they had no problem with welcoming Kitt as though he were their little brother either way.
Neither of them would immediately notice Kitt spacing out, though - instead, the duo seemed quite focused on their surroundings as they made their way along. Ophelia's ears were pricked and swiveling, sniffing the air, and Cassie similarly seemed to be paying attention to everything around them. You sort of had to be, going up into the mountains - especially those deeper in the range. Being oblivious would get you killed quick, if you walked to close to the edge of a cliff - where the snow sometimes loved to overhang - or if you wandered too deeply into a wild digimon's territory and were seen as an intruder.
Cassie's attention would quickly snap back to Kitt, though, as he responded - and she'd nod excitedly, eyes wide and awed. Almost immediately, would come the questioning and rambling from the excited little Gomamon-X; "You've been up there before?? What's it like? Is it really as pretty as people say it is?? Dad said that it's full of angels and other vaccine digimon, and that it's like going into a whole other world, being up there - though he also says it's not a place that he'd like to live in." Ophelia glanced to Cassie, and would comment "I've personally heard the guards, at least in Luminas, are kind of assholes, so maybe that's why Dad wouldn't like to live up there, but I dunno. I'd like going up there at least once, to see the sights and be able to say I've been up there." with a small shrug as she hopped up over a small ridge. "I don't think I'd stay there, though - between the guards, and me not having wings."

Kitt got a bit overwhelmed with Cassie's frequent questions coming at him like a spray of bullets. He didn't think something like The Empyrean Skies was something spectacular, seeing as which he lives in Luminas City. But to any ordinary Digimon not living there, it was probably considered a utopia.
"Yes, yes, and yeah," Kitt answered. "When I went up there for my first time, I though I had died and went to digi-heaven." He shrugged. "But now going from home to here is like another Tuesday for me."
Kitt turned his head and looked at Ophelia as she gave her two cents about what she though of Luminas City. While although yes, the guards there were extremely authoritative, sometimes even punishing those for the tiniest of disturbances, crime was essentially nonexistent there...well, for the most part. Ever since coming there, there have been a sling of break-ins with reports of Digimon's valuables, sometimes treasure chests, getting stolen. Police couldn't even find one evidence since the perpetrator removed any traces of evidence from the scene. Authorities began to dub the thief "The Akali" since he appears and disappears without a trace.
A little smirk appeared on his face. Now who could be called that he wondered~
"Ehh, you get kind of used to it after a while. To enforce the big laws, you got to enforce the smaller ones."

"Oh, I suppose that makes sense..." Cassie would respond with a hum - thinking over Kitt's answers. "You'd probably find it all pretty ordinary, having lived there for a good part of your life, sorta like how we find the mountains normal!" She'd muse out loud, Ophelia nodding in agreement, as it made sense to her as well. The snow, the storms, the cold, and the wild digimon - though much of it actually might suck, for someone who was more used to a cushy life... Ophelia and Cassie didn't really worry about it all that much, beyond paying it all the respect necessary to survive. Inversely, things like technology, civilization... Though the duo was getting used to it, those sorts of things were all quite unusual to them - and there were still things that they were adjusting to, in living a more social and civilized life beyond the mountains.
Either way though, Ophelia would scratch her cheek and make a skeptical expression at Kitt's response, not seeming to notice the other Spadamon's smirk. "I mean, from what it sounded like when we talked about Luminas way back when - back when we had gone on that blind date - their idea of enforcing small issues is attacking people!" Ophelia remarked, frowning deeply. She still couldn't get over the idea of the guards being that pissy over Kitt getting something out of the garbage of all things - if they wanted to keep those jewels, why not put them literally anywhere else??
Cassie would make a concerned expression at Ophelia's remark, though - lacking the same context that Kitt and Ophelia had. Were the guards in Luminas really that bad?
Either way, Ophelia would make a heavy sigh, glancing up at the path ahead - remarking "Even if you're used to it, I don't think I could easily accept that kind of authority. That shit's crazy."

Kitt had to admit that was a good point. But the guards weren’t that bad. As long as you don’t have a criminal history or try to commit any wrong-doings, Luminas City was like a heaven among the clouds; no crime, no criminals, and certainly no bullies there. “Well, opinions are opinions,” he stated. “All that matters is we respect each other’s thoughts on certain topics, even if we disagree.” He didn’t want to go on a full debate in front of Cassie. That kind of thing was not his style.
After he said that, he started to noticed that the snow they were walking on was starting to get steeper, with each step becoming more heavy as they continued their upward slope. They haven’t been out for that long and already he was getting a bit tired of being in the cold.
“Hey, Ophelia. How long will it be til we reach you guy’s house?” He tried his best to keep his body from shivering, but he couldn’t help putting his arms in his sleeves.

Ophelia wasn't sure if this was necessarily a thing of opinions - either the guards got after people for even minor misdemeanors, or they didn't. Though it didn't seem like Kitt wanted to keep talking about it either way, even if she disagreed - so she'd just shrug in response. And indeed, she would notice Cassie's uncertainty and concern as well - and would reach down to ruffle the fur tuft atop Cassie's head. "It's okay," She'd reassure her sister with a warm smile - "We don't gotta go up there, 'cept to visit Kitt and Eris." - and that seemed to be enough for Cassie to brighten back up a bit.
Which, speaking of... She wondered how Cassie and Eris would get along, as they got deeper into the mountains. Cassie wasn't quite as rambunctious, but she still was stronger than she looked as a Rookie - and was still quite full of energy. Maybe they'd have fun playing still? She could certainly see Eris trying - emphasis on trying - to outwrestle Cassie, though she wasn't sure if Cassie would appreciate the nipping and biting that Eris tended to do...
... Kitt's question to Ophelia would jolt her out of her thoughts, though. Glancing over to her little brother, it seemed that he was starting to get cold - shivering, and seeming to struggle a bit in the snow as it got deeper and steeper. Cassie had no problems at all pushing herself along atop the snow, and though Ophelia's own feet sunk in, she didn't mind the snow at all either. But it was a reminder that Kitt wasn't quite used to this type of weather - being that he lived up in Luminas. Both sisters would share a glance, before moving to gather around Kitt and press close to him - sharing their bodywarmth, and helping ward off the cold for him. All the while, Cassie would chirp up, clarifying "It's not a house, it's a den - we're sorta wild digimon! ... Or part-wild, I guess? Dad isn't really a wild digimon." Ophelia, too, would ask "Need a breather? Mama's territory is decently deep in, but we can dig out an alcove and snuggle up there for a bit if you wanna take a break and warm back up."
Or maybe.... After a moment of thought, Ophelia would also suggest "Maybe I could carry you instead, too, if need be?" She couldn't help but think back to their blind date, when she had to carry Kitt into the pizzeria - and while Kitt was a little bit hefty, being that he wasn't too much smaller than she was, she was also getting decently strong! Surely it wouldn't be too hard to carry her lil bro around, even if for a bit, yeah?

Post by Kitt on Jun 24, 2019 23:03:50 GMT
To Kitt's surprise however, his question would be answered when both Ophelia and Cassie huddled next to him, making him turn red. Besides hugs, he still wasn't use to such close contact, so he didn't know what the two were trying to do or how to react to it. After a few moments, he started to feel warmth surging around him, his shivering slowly starting to cease as his core body temperature rise. Now he realized what they were trying to; they were trying to keep him warm.
"T-Thank you." Kitt said, his teeth still chattering due to walking in the cold for so long, He'd hope that the longer he stays in the cold, the more he'll get use to it since his fur coat will start to puff eventually.
He would then look down to Cassie in shock that they live in a den, not a house. "Oh, I had no idea." Kitt commented. Something like that was not unusual, since he too had to spend nights in a sett back when he was homeless. But still, he didn't think like someone sophisticated and somewhat nice-looking as Ophelia would live in conditions like that. That would explain her rough personality.
Ophelia would then ask him if they either want to dig out an alcove to warm up for a bit, or if she wanted her to carry him, to which Kitt shook his head, not wanting to do either of them.
"Na, I'm good. A lady such as yourself shouldn't be burden with trying to carry me. I don't want you to exert yourself too much in this bitter cold." He wanted to prove to her that he can toughen it out for a little while longer- or as long as he could if he has to.

Ophelia and Cassie didn't seem to notice Kitt's flusteredness, as they snuggled up to Kitt to help him warm up - seeing as they were quite comfortable with this sort of contact. As Kitt would comment on them living in a den, though, Ophelia would blink a bit. "You didn't know? Feel like I'd have mentioned it at some point..." She'd muse out loud, tail swaying idly as she thought to herself. She at least was pretty sure she mentioned to Kitt about having never seen a movie before, but beyond that she couldn't remember much else off the top of her head...
"Mmm... Ah well. Yeah! We live in a den in the mountains. Mama's a wild digimon, so we're sorta wild - or part wild, I suppose - like Cassie said. We don't think Dad's a wild digimon like us - we think he's from another more civilized part of the Digital World - but we dunno where he's from, and he doesn't really talk about it." Ophelia would explain. Cassie would nod too, adding "Yeah! There's so much new stuff that I'm learning about, ever since I came down from the mountains with Ophi, after that Belphemon stuff!" with a bright grin. "I never knew the world out there is so exciting - I feel like it'd overstimulate poor Laertes to go out there, honestly, ehehh..!"
As Kitt seemed ready to keep going, Cassie would respectfully back off so that they could start walking. But Ophelia seemed to take Kitt's response a bit differently than he might've expected... "Hey, don't ya call yourself a damn burden, and don't think I'm some fragile fuckin' doll or someshit." Ophelia would shoot back, seeming to be taking Kitt's response as both him berating himself as well as a challenge as she added "And you think I ain't used to this cold? I'll show ya exerting yourself!" Without much further warning, Ophelia would wrap her arms around Kitt's midriff, attempting to suddenly lift the little Spadamon!
Cassie would blink in surprise at this, before starting to giggle - "You HAVE been getting stronger, Ophi!" - and watch as Ophelia would attempt to sling Kitt over her shoulder, to debatable success. Assuming that Kitt didn't do anything to upset her balance, or wriggle free, it would end up more that his front half was slung over her shoulder while both arms would support his back half. Either way, just lifting him in general would be enough to puff her chest, as she boastfully declared "Hah! How's that for a lady??"
