"It sounds better than NovaRenamon or JesRenamon, Heh. ExRenamon. All of those just sound silly!"
K let out a small chuckle and shook her head, she liked being considered just a variant of a renamon. Nothing really special. If anything perhaps she'd be WhiteRenamon? Or CloakedRenamon? She knew there were X variants and black variants, hell even a cybernetic one! The renamon closed her eyes and rumbled deeply, the long soak helping her relax marvelously. Once they made their way out of the pool however K would have to take the time to dry out, with the assistance of a blow drier and once that was done well... Combing took a good bit! She didn't mind the showers either, it made her feel so much better.
"we both really did..."
The renamon shifted and felt her back arch just a little bit from feeling those nails across her back. She'd playfully bat at her husband with a wry grin and then paused when he said they could hit up any place to eat. She opened her mouth to speak and was about to say something along the lines of not being hungry when her stomach practically roared in discomfort. The renamon's brow furrowed and she'd put a hand to her stomach with a shake of the head.
"Well before we had the silly idea of eating at the place we went on our first date did we not? Lets go there and if the food isn't to our liking we can just go somewhere else~"
The renamon eased down to kiss at the top of the mikemon's head, gently pulling him into a hug. The soft fabric of her cloak brushing against her body making the renamon perk up a little bit. While it wasn't as animated as it used to be the cloak for the most part was still sentient in a weird sort of way.
"Mmm... When was the last time it was just a meal with the two of us?"

"Hehe..." The cat batted right back at the fox, taking a moment to joke around before the two settled on food ideas. And though K looked like she had something else in mind, the loud growl of her stomach made it clear just what track they'd be on.
And with that, K made her suggestion - that fish-and-steak place back in Whitewater. Considering it for a moment, the doctor gave a nod. "Well, I didn't want to do anything too fancy anyway, so a dine-in like that works fine for me." He gave a smirk and a blush, ear flicking as the Renamon pecked against the top of her head. Just when was the last time it was just the two of them?
"Back near Valentines day, I think." Shaking his head, the cat would cast a portal open in front of them, and as they would step out, they'd go from the chilly height of the mountains to the warm and humid, salty air of Whitewater in an instant.
It was sudden enough to make the cat sneeze, anyway. "Ugh, I've been away from Whitewater for so long, I've forgotten what its like to have the entire town smell like a beach. Well," he nodded towards the restaurant, "After you."
About an hour before the dinner rush would start in proper, it didn't take long to get the two seated - and without the allure of coupons or a mass of blind dinner dates, it was nice to see this eatery at its regular pace. Drinks ordered, he'd peruse through the menu, tapping some bird-based dish on the second page as he considered his options.
"Sheesh... last time we were here, it was right after I made a darn fool of myself the first time... heh..."

K grinned ear to ear, teasing a finger along one of the cat's ears. She'd hum thoughtfully at what she could get from the place but realizing quickly that she didn't actually know what all they had. She was glad that her husband wasn't going to argue with her choice, then again even if he had a good reason to he probably wouldn't... at least not in these last few days. Unless it was something important she figured. The renamon noted the blush and couldn't help but snicker.
"It'll be nice to sit down as just the two of us again."
The fact it had been so long made the renamon rather thoughtful before stepping through the portal. The chilly height of the mountain switching to the warm and humid salty air of whitewater... well that was a treat in itself. The renamon put a hand to her head as her body had to quickly acclimate to the weather. She was glad she was able to mostly brush off weather changes but... this was still a bit much. At the sneeze she'd gently pat the top of the cat's head.
"Maybe we should of taken a bit to shift locations hmm? I couldn't quite forget it myself, even if I didn't spend too much time here."
K would smile warmly down at her husband and then trot into the restaurant. She was rather pleased at the short wait time and was perusing through the menu; she'd order something simple in terms of drinks and noted that there was quite a few options that she liked.
"I had such a hard time saying no to you then you have no idea... But it seemed fate had a funny one in mind for us no?"
K shook her head with a small smile, tracing her finger along the menu. There were a few things she didn't recognize and a few things that she didn't like. Ultimately she felt like going for a simple cut of steak would do nicely. Some sides, and perhaps something simple to start... wings perhaps?
"It's funny, I tell you no to nursing and then to dating, then skip forward a year and we're married with three kids."

"Heh, sorry about the quick change - but this'll wear off in a minute." Brushing the back of his glove against his nose, the cat gave a smirk as he led the way inside. Restaurants weren't something that K and Mikemon had time to do very often - between the two clubs and having to handle the kids, there was hardly an excuse for it - but whenever they did, they usually wondered why they didn't do it more often.
"I'll give you fate for that blind date set-up. Stingmon talked me into it, and I tried to figure out any good reason to back out of it - it definitely wasn't on my top list of things to do. But considering how it worked out..." The cat smirked, chuckling as he closed the menu, settling on grilled chicken. With a bit of conversation, they also settled on an order of hot wings to start off.
"Mm, I'm going to stand behind that you would have been a great student. But I wouldn't trade how this turned out for the world." He was simply enjoying the moment - in short order, a Divermon would take their orders, and they'd be left to the atmosphere of the restaurant, and a small glass of wine in front of each of them.
"... Hm. Kinda a big thing to ask out of the blue, but I'm just curious. Where did you get the idea for the Knights?"

K chuckled lightly and shook her head, it didn't bother her too much but honestly she could tell that it did have a small effect on her husband. The renamon rubbed at her muzzle, wishing quietly that she could of had meals with her husband more on the regular. She would of given quite a bit for it but ultimately there was not much that could be done.
"Joseph was the one that suggested that I try doing something that day, then I saw a poster about it so... Figured why not. I can't argue with the results either."
She'd stick out her tongue and close the menu, the idea of what she was going to order firmly set in her mind. It would be a simple order of that steak with mashed potatoes. Though the second side she was sort of dicey on.
"Piratically yes I agree; I was a pretty decent learner. I'm glad holly picked that up from the both of us heh. I don't think I'd trade it either, I might of been a little more open at the start if I could do it again though."
K chuckled softly and decided her second side would be just... more mashed potatoes. She couldn't help it when it came to a simple meal. The renamon gently spinning the wine in the glass, seemingly lost in thought up until the mikemon addressed something that she thought she had told him! K blinked slowly and took a sip of the wine, enjoying the taste and the soft burn that it gave her mouth.
"I didn't get the idea for the knights. Jesmon suggested that I should make them, using the Royal knights as a base. Since I was unable to be one myself he figured a group of people that held similar values to myself would do the digital world some good. We discussed it a few times before he eventually faded away. I didn't have a purpose and I had all that power; If I had chosen poorly..."
There were a brief few moments of her violence in regards to the library, her eyes closing slightly and a soft sigh. It was a treacherous path she had to walk, she was glad she had been able to have friends to walk it with her.
"I have no doubt that I would of ended up less of a thrall of the wisemon's and more of a problem. If my control had waned for even a moment a monster could of been born. What about you? Why did you join the digital field club? I know research and the like are your prerogative as well as treatment of your patients but... It seems a far stretch more relaxed than I had anticipated."
There was a long pause and she'd lean forward slightly, wine resting in one hand and her hand cupping her own cheek as the elbow rested on the table.
"Honestly I would say given the chance mikemon, you should consider your own team if things don't work out for you there. Perhaps a doctor group of some sort? Could solve a lot of problems, pity there doesn't seem to be many other than yourself and one other individual of note."

Perhaps Mikemon had asked before. But considering the importance that team had in her heart, Mikemon couldn't help but ask, to simply hear her reasoning and current feelings on the matter. Her answer came with certainty: she established the team based off of Jesmon's idea, the Knight leaving a 'will' of sorts for the fox to follow.
"Heh. Well, the Knights were a fantastic way to put your power to good use, but to obtain and use all of that over the course of a little over a year? Honestly, its a bit astonishing how much you grew into that." Well, the Knights at least. Mikemon was fairly sure that K was capable of Shutmon for longer than the time that he knew her, so much so that she considered it more a default form than her state as a Renamon.
Naturally, the question turned right back around to him, and the Mikemon returned a chuckle. "To be honest, I didn't join the Digital Field Club for any sort of great purpose. For the longest time, I've been holed up with myself - heck, you know me the first time we met in the hotel, just another passerby who wanted to keep his head down. But after everything with you, well, I wanted to do something. Heck, more than that, its fun."
The cat gave a chuckle. "But, alas, a doctor team probably isn't in my future. Well, unless you consider 'Whitewater Medical' a team, but at least I still get around with what I can do - ah, there's the wings." The cat gave a nod as the Divermon set out the plate, the cat giving a nod as he plucked one up for himself. At least for now, it was time to enjoy the evening!

K ran her finger around the edge of the wine glass, mulling over softly what else she had considered at the time. Building another inn had come to mind, but she squashed that pretty hard. There had been the idea of joining some military, but that too seemed out of what she wanted to do. K's eyes rose from the glass as her husband spoke and she'd manage a small smile.
"A lot of things happened, I met a lot of people and they inspired growth. Honestly when you found me in the ruins I had stopped being the innkeeper and started being more of a mercanary at that point."
K turned her hand over quietly, staring it for a few moments and then gave a small wry grin. The idea of her growing into it and more being thrusted into the position seemed a bit more appropriate at least to her. The renamon flicked her ears as he gave his answer to her question. He was holed up by himself, doing his work. When they met at her inn they had just wanted to keep his head down. K closed her eyes and exhaled slowly.
"I'm glad I was able to make you open up..."
K tilted her head at that chuckle, gaining a smile of her own as he stated that the doctor team wasn't in his future. The renamon let out an chuckle of her own as he said that it was more whitewater medical than anything else. K turned her head to note that the wings were here, thanking the Divermon before plucking up one herself. She liked wings, she also liked eating the bones of the wings, so it wouldn't come as a surprise [hopefully] when she finished the meat portion that there was a loud crunch as she took a bite out of them.
"I think you'd do well in a group like that but I understand. I'm glad that you were able to find a group of your own and still be able to help out people here."
Another long pause and she'd lean back in her chair, just enjoying the flavor of both the wine and wings mixing together. It just added together for her. There was a long moment and she'd run a hand along her muzzle in thought.
"Definitively a good taste, reminds me of canton's wings just a bit..."

"Honestly, I'm glad you were able to find a place for yourself, after... well, after what happened to your inn." It was a bit of a sore spot, so Mikemon glazed over it, still managing to return K's smile with one of his own. So much had happened in one short year - and not just with K, either!
Dio coming to terms as the descendant of a Demon Lord and discovering his twin. Discovering his DNA partner with Tawna, and the entire mess that happened to Haru and Cassandra - not to mention the complicated matter of the Sovereign and the D-Reaper. It was, without a doubt, the most chaotic year in either of their lives - it was no wonder that the two had changed so much! He raised a glass to his 'opening up', taking a sip before starting on the wings. It was tender, falling right off the bone -
SNAP!
The cat gave a blink, looking blankly at K for a moment, before stifling his chuckle. Alright, so there were some things he wasn't quite used to. But for a while, they could just enjoy their evening. And as the pile of wings slowly dwindled, Mikemon smirked. Talking of 'Canton' opened the way for a nice bit of small talk, and while they waited for their main course, the cat and the fox would manage to get a nice, light conversation going, full of small stories and just catching up on what they missed in each-other's lives while they were out doing their own things. Time passed, the entrees came and each would get a good way into their own plate, the cat giving a small smile as he looked down at the table.
... God, he was going to miss this.

"It was hard. I was lost. I had... time to think honestly."
K ran her finger around the wine glass, a soft somewhat sad smile spreading across her face as she mulled over everything that led up to all this. She hadn't known the full spectrum of things her husband had done, some of them he had kept from her. Like the DNA or the fact that haru had... a little incident. Hell she still thought Dr. Cross was still alive for the most part! This last year was beyond active for the both of them and if they had the time and chance... well it would of been many more active years before they eventually slide into retirement. She'd quirk a brow lightly however and return that 'glass raise'. Though she'd chuckle softly at seeing him jerk at her snapping of that bone.
She didn't mind eating them like this, though she got a few strange looks at the fact she was eating the bones too. But considering how they helped with her teeth she couldn't really argue with the results. The light conversation that they were able to have sat well with the fox, she could feel the burning of the wine in her body and she didn't really bother stopping. Asking for another glass, and another... when her glass fell empty.
The entree's came and she was thankfully able to put away quite a bit in a soft amount of time. The mashed potatoes going down easy, the steak slicing apart and chewing well. It was something that she could say she would want to happen again, not this meal specifically but the fact she was here with her husband. Doing this. Doing something that they rarely did. The renamon closed her eyes, she could feel a certain wetness of her cheeks. A mix of the rosy blush from her wine and the renamon let out a soft sigh, rubbing her face across her forearm.
"Mmm... The steak is pretty good.. how's the chicken?"
She couldn't avoid the thoughts, not in the fuddled space of her wine laden mind. The looming presencce of that wisemon, cackling in the fact that in the end he seemed to have the last laugh. Not knowing that he was going to be forcibly ripped from the renamon. Or perhaps knowing and unable to do anything about it.
"...I wonder..."

He was going to miss this.
This entire day - from the flight, to the spa, to the diner - every bit of it was wonderful, not just for what they were doing, but that he was able to spend every bit of it alone with his wonderful wife. As the sun began to set over the ocean horizon outside, though, the reality of the situation started to set in for him again, just a bit. How limited their time was, and how much they still wanted to do. His ear gave a flick as K's question broke him out of his trance.
The chicken? Oh, right, the chicken! "Heh, its good! Pairs well with the greens." He gave a wide smile, one that might have seemed a touch forced, as the mood finally set in again. The cat gave a blink, and as K started to mention something...
... Well. He just listened.

K sat there for a few long moments, mulling over the day as it had come. How much she was going to miss it and how much her husband was likely going to miss her. The sadness that she could feel from that statement edged into everything she had; she could feel the sadness from the future, the cold future without her that he would have to live through. The setting sun and the ocean horizion gaining her attention for a few long moments.
It was just another pair of days right? Then she'd...
Right. Her question. The wondering statement of that chicken followed suit by her open ended wondering. She'd close her eyes slightly and took a bite from the steak, her wondering turned a little longer and she'd give the cat a small somewhat sad look.
"How things would of went, if we might of met earlier in our lives. I can't... help but think about it sometimes. Sure fate had us meet together so late in them but..."
A shake of the head and she'd gingerly rub her muzzle, they probably would of been retired by now. With their three kids likely being parents or even grandparents of their own by now. The renamon's expression deepened and her expression grew pained.
"I worry about you Mikemon. And I wonder how things are going to be without me. I want to be there still for you and the kids but... I can't help but worry. I know that this was supposed to be our get away but... I can't help but just think about these things."
There was a soft moment and the renamon's finger twitched as she ran it around the wine glass. She could hear the sea crashing against the beach, hear it against the rocks. The chattering of the people around them, the people on the beach, those walking the streets. Safe in one way or another, maybe not thanks to her but she felt like she had contributed in some way.
"Do you think they'll be able to do it?"

Two more days.
That reality set in hard for both of them. Though they had greatly enjoyed this day - and really, all of their time together - it hardly felt like enough. To Mikemon, this was bliss, and K likely felt the same... but know that it was to all come to an end in a little over 48 hours definitely put them both on edge.
"... If we met earlier on, I can only hope that we would have ended up where we are now." Mikemon managed a small smile, thinking through it himself. If it hadn't been for that Gazimon and the Dokugumon, would K have just been another passing figure in his life? Would he still be that jaded doctor only taking projects that interested him through his boredom?
Really, K's worry was well placed. Just what would the four of them do without her? Mikemon set his fork down, taking a small breath, thinking it through. "... They'll be able to do it." His voice was confident. "Siris, well, he's always managed one way or another, even if he's more feral than his sisters. Syre's very mature and well-thought for her age, and she's proven her ability to handle herself through missions and her own studies. Holly... well, she's naive and could honestly use a good kick in the tail from time to time, but she's probably got the brightest future of all of 'em. And..."
Right, himself. "... I'll make do, some way or another. Even if Stingmon's gonna have to drag me along for a while." He managed a smile, reaching forward to take K's hand in his own. "Don't worry. You've helped me raise a great family, K. We'll make do... some way or another."

K felt her face tug into a smile and she couldn't help but look down at her plate. What would of happened to her if she had never stumbled back onto a warzone that she had remembered in a past life of hers? Well not so much her past lives as those of the multiple mons that now made up her core. She'd run a hand through her fur, staring quietly at her husband.
"I think we would of, fate may be twisted sometimes but it can also be unfathomably kind."
K ran her hand through her fur again before sipping quietly at her wine. The idea of her children being able to manage without her hurt a little bit more than she'd like to admit, she wanted to coddle them. She wanted to protect them but without her they would have to do their own thing on their own, with just their father for guidance.
"It feels like they're just the both of us sometimes but mixed together here or there. It's silly really."
K let out a small chuckle and shook her head. Siris definitely could use something to really kick him off, perhaps this would be it? Syre would likely lock up much like her younger sister... and K closed her eyes, knowing that holly would likely hide herself away and bury herself in projects.
"They'll all need you to give them a kick in the tail I imagine. It will hit them hard."
K paused and squeezed the mikemon's hand, sadness creeping into that smile and tinting her eyes. It would be hard without her wouldn't it? But he had lived a large majority of his life on his own, but he didn't want to again. What could she do to ease his pain? What could she do to help him? Words failed her and she managed that smile again.
"I couldn't be prouder of them. Or you. I know it's going to be hard Dear but honestly please don't lose hope okay?"
The renamon gently pushed her head against his hand and after a few long moments she'd let it go. She'd have to tend to the remainder of her meal and after that? Well the renamon could still feel the edge of hunger around her.
"Must of picked up my mei's appetite. I'm still hungry."

It was a nice thought that the two were meant for each-other - but there was no doubt that the first incident threw their lives together, wasn't it? Mikemon managed a smile, and a chuckle as K mentioned that their kids were like a mix of the two of them. "I mean, they kind of have to be, don't they?" He teased her, letting the topic slide right along.
They would need a push, yes, but the cat was confident that they'd be able to get along without her, though that itself was a tough pill to swallow. It would have been easier to think that they could simply rely on K in the future, but in the short term, all they could do was try and keep themselves together. Gripping onto K's hand for a moment, he gave a nod.
"It'll be hard, but I'll hold onto hope, K." He smiled, letting the Renamon hold his hand as long as she wanted before he'd pull back, to finish his own plate. And... well, it seemed that K didn't quite have enough?
He smirked, picking up the desert menu, and calling the Divermon over, asking for a slice of cheesecake for each of them. Just something to put a small end to this night. And on that menu, that dastardly sugar cake was nowhere to be seen! The desert came with the bill, Mikemon offering his bit card as the two moved right onto desert.
It was a pleasantly sweet cake, one that left the cat satisfied as the plate was plucked free of the treat. "Heh... a little better, my sweet?"

"To be fair I wasn't sure if they had to, I thought there might be a chance where they weren't like either one of us!"
K's brows raised and she'd shake her head, grinning slightly as the topic moved. She was glad that he would try to hold onto his hope, she'd squeeze his hand tightly, thankful that he was at least willing to try. If anything he had his family to help him along, his friends and she was pretty sure that Dr. Cross would also be there for him. Even if she hadn't seen the human in quite some time.
She was glad to see that he didn't mind the idea of having some more, in the form of desert no less! It had been quite some time since she had a cheesecake slice. She savored the taste and sighed a little bit as it went as quickly as it came. The renamon idly tracing her plate with the fork.
"I'd say so... been a long time since I had some of that dear~"
She'd manage a small smile and gave the cat a soft yet teasing wink. She could tell that tone and honestly she didn't mind it. She liked his little pokes and prods; his little teasing mentions. It got her so worked up all the time she could faintly feel a flush rising on her cheeks.
"Now the question is... where to? Home? The beach for a stroll perhaps?"
