It had been a week since Shino had become better acquainted to the life that was of a Digimon Tamer. It was not easy, partly due to the fact she now lived with a mouthy, energetic, curious and sometimes inappropriately crass dinosaur with cybernetic parts and a rifle. Luckily, his 'bark' was worse than his bite, as the only danger about him was if you were a hamburger.
The Digimon was a bottomless pit, and it was near impossible to keep him hidden from her Uncle Sojiro. Luckily, the thing that made it easy was her contact with Tadayoshi. While they did get off on a rocky start, she texted him regularly to keep tabs and ask info about Digimon in general. She was quick to learn the basics thanks to him.
She learned about the Tamer Net, the general ways Digimon behaved, and how the digivice generally worked. While Shino didn't get much done, she read up what she could-- while trying to wrestle Vector, the Commandramon with her, to behave and not cause trouble around her home and room.
After a small incident of the cyborg dinosaur walking in on her in the shower-- she was nearing wits end when Tadayoshi discussed a possible invitation to join a group he was a part of. A group of Digimon Tamers like her. After a bit of consideration, she agreed to be introduced and see how they were.
It was an afternoon on a Saturday in the summer as Shino was at a cafe outside in Central Shibuya, located at a pleasant plaza that overlooked the streets below. She was dressed casually, with a light top for the summer heat and a light pair of slacks she wore. She had her backpack in hand, which she kept her laptop as she sipped on am iced hot-chocolate from the cafe.
"Shino..." a voice whispered from below her. "Can I have another one of those dough-ring things?"
Shino tried not to respond as she sipped her drink. "This is your third one. Forget it. And lets not forget how you completely emptied the fridge. Sojiro looked at me like I was insane for taking the blame for you-- as if I ate it all."
It was the Commandramon's unique trait-- his ability to camouflage saved his neck on multiple occasions to hide from Shino's guardian. While out in public, Vector could use his pixilated skin to blend into the surrounding environment with ease, as a chameleon could. Despite that, he would freely not bother keeping quiet at times.
If it wasn't for that, she wasn't sure if she could even let Vector out of her house. NOt that it stopped him from venturing on his own every once in a while.
Either way, Shino was there at the cafe-- the agreed meeting spot where Tadayoshi would meet her, and talk regarding this group he was a part of. She had no idea what to expect, or if she would be taken to their HQ-- but Shino was prepared as if it was some kind of interview for a job.

No, Tadayoshi was not coming to the cafe with high expectations. Sure, he was plucked off the street in quite a similar manner, but he demonstrated to Sophie James his competence and professionalism right from the gun both figuratively and literally. Shino... didn't. Well, that's not actually true, the young man considered to himself, She showed some real tenacity, albeit recklessness as well. But she adapted quick, too. Of course, it might be too early to judge. Shino wasn't the one he was really anxious about. That Commandramon did point a gun at his own head in order to scratch an itch.
But in any case it was probably a good idea to check up on them whether he believed in them as potential agents or not. Counseling disruptive partners was a part of his job, too. Heck, these days it seemed like pretty much everything was his job, really.
In any case, it was an informal affair. They were meeting in the cafe, after all, a couple of kids talking about a secret job. There was no need for uniforms or suits, which was why he was showing up in khakis and a collared shirt - still semi-formal attire, perhaps, but everyday wear by his standards. She was easy enough to spot, so Tadayoshi called to her, "Miss Taka!" with a little smile and wave. "May I sit?" assuming yes, he'd proceed to sit across from Shino and ask her, "So, how have you two been?" The whole time he never even glanced in Vector's direction. It seemed he was ignorant to the soldier's presence.

Shino had her own thoughts-- trying to keep her mind of the bottomless pit of a Digimon she hid under her table. As she was about to take another sip of her frozen hot-chocolate, she heard the voice of someone familiar call to her as "Miss Taka". Even Vector heard and turned his head to the source. As agreed, Tadayoshi arrived. At his request to sit, Shino nodded. "Sure. Good to see you again. Thanks for keeping in touch with me," she said as he sit down-- either ignoring or unaware of the near-invisible Vector hiding under the table.
At the question of how she been, she gave a sigh and drank another deep gulp of her icy drink. "Honestly-- exhausting. If you recall from my email, Vector is a handfull. " she said . "You have no idea the trouble he gets into-- and the trouble I GET into covering his pixilated colored butt. I swear I can barely even sleep at night."
The reference to sleep made a chuckling sound from under the table-- no doubt Vector taking the comment in a more lewd reference. Shino merely grumbled as she glanced at the table.
"Honestly, the only plus to this is his natural ability to somehow camouflage with his surroundings otherwise I couldn't even take him out of the house, " she explained, "Can you imagine what would happen if I left him on his own?And trust me-- he tries."
She took another sip of her drink as she pulled out her Digivice and showed it to Tadayoshi. "So I found out a few things... but there was only so much I could do without better equiptment. For one, it seems my Digivice is different-- even by Tamer standards. The tamer net shared what kind of Digivices other tamers had-- but mine is an odder modle. According to what I read, this is used for... "Spirit Users" or something? I'm not sure why mine is of that model. Other than that, I still have more questions than answers. "
"Hmmm... I smell a mystery!" Vector chirped, loving the excitement building.
"Oh, quiet you." Shino hissed directed under the table, no doubt by now that Tadayoshi would gather where Vector was.

Tadayoshi had been about to ask more specifically about trouble Vector causes when he was distracted by that immature chuckle. Following both its sound and Shino's gaze, he first checked around to make sure no one was watching too closely, then peered under the table. There was... nothing. He watched a little longer expecting to see something, but he didn't. So, he let the table cloth fall back down and got back to business. "I know you're still interested in AEGIS, and that's great, but our agents need some discipline. We're no secret from people who are in the know, but the general public simply can not see us, hear us, or notice any trail we leave - ever. We have some connections to cover minor mishaps, of course-" Tadayoshi frowned as he thought about bringing a significant portion of the city's power down due to an incident involving some weaponized power lines and a giant horse. "-and training and protocol for such things, but the latter is strictly a matter of discipline. If I were to try you as agents he would simply have to, have to exercise a little more discipline than that."
On the digivice, Tadayoshi leaned over the table to get a better look at the machine but kept his hands to himself; he wouldn't have dreamed of touching someone else's digivice even if it was demanded of him. He was curious, yes, but he wasn't completely surprised. "A spirit user can harness the power of a fallen digimon who didn't reset correctly, in essence transforming into one... temporarily. That's definitely the sort of digivice usually reserved for them, but sometimes these things happen. Come to me if it ever malfunctions or something, but I don't think it's a major concern otherwise. I know this one-" There it was. Vector again. Tadayoshi yanked the tablecloth up again only to find still nothing. He wasn't buying it this time, though. This time he reached out to probe Vector with his foot and, indeed, felt him there. "-Well, you can hide after all. I'll just speak directly to you, then." He dropped the tablecloth and looked Shino in the eyes for the sake of inconspicuousness, but he wasn't talking to her when he asked, "Do you think you can practice a little professionalism for the sake of our mission?"

When Tadayoshi would inspect the space under the table, at first naturally he wouldn't find anything. That was the point of camouflage-- however, the simple movement of Vector caused his pixeled skin to shift slightly. Finally, the blink of his eyes gave him away-- as he looked up at Tadayoshi cockily. "Hey-- watch the goods pal! " Vector said moderately aloud.
Shino gave her foot a small bump-- clearly kicking it into Vector's tail. "Vector, the whole point of stealth is to be quiet..." she grumbled, trying to stay casual in the face of Tadayoshi and the others. From how she behaved now, she was professional. She was curious but also curt since she had to deal with Tadayoshi, a person she had some mild issues of trust with-- as she did with everyone. That and she had to keep a firm leash on Vector, having spent the last week trying to cover his crazy stunts.
She let out a sigh and looked at Tadayoshi straight in the eye. "Look, I for one get you think I am a loose cannon. You probably were right up till now. My goals as a hacker were to expose corruption and reveal information. But I'm willing to bet you never heard of my handle as Nemesis... am I right? Now, why do you think that is? " she asked.
Perhaps Tadayoshi did dig deep enough to find some mentions of Nemesis, and her hacker reputation. However, whether he found any trace or not-- it was minuscule because she learned how to cover her tracks as a hacker. After living under the same roof as an ex-cyber crime devision detective, she knew her way around computers to cover her tracks. IPs, network, and digital footprint of her 'hacker' activities. Unless someone knew exactly where to look-- they wouldn't find anything that pointed to her.
At least, up till now when Vector came flying through her computer.
"You said this group worked to protect people from dangerous digimon, and even help friendly Digimon and others like me, right? Other tamers and those who are familiar with the Digital World. You talk about discipline and protocol... You can count on me to be a team player, but if you ask me to do something unethical or something I see as just wrong, I won't just obey orders. Is that going to be a problem? " she asked her gaze firm. "I get the point to keep the secret about Digimon, but I don't compromize my values. I hope you can understand that."
It was that resolve that hid behind her glasses that made her more than the seeming timid looking girl before his eyes. The will to not compromise her own justice and sense of right and wrong. It was that resolve that allowed her to break free from the abuse of the foster home system.
"As for proof, I'm sure I can prove I am an asset to your organization, if you don't believe my word as a Hacker. Or rather, you DID see me fend off that little assault at my uncle's shop," she explained, realizing that did prove her point and that Tadayoshi was there.
However... while they talked, Vector was starting to be a bit greedy as he saw Shino's drink. Despite his near-invisible claw, he was reaching up to get it...The little dinosaur was a bottomless pit.
As the tension between them began to lessen-- as shino didn't want tension to amount in this supposedly casual meeting, she took back her Digivice. "As for this thing, I get it. Still, the sheer nature of this thing intrigues me. But I need some help running a diagnostic on this. I mean, I would need better equipment than the stuff I build in my room." A computer hacking genius she was, she was still limited by her setup at home.

Partly out of manners and partly out of just being surprised, Tadayoshi pulled his foot back very quickly when ordered to by the 'mon with a mouth. Yep, that was Vector. As for Shino's first question, Tadayoshi was unimpressed. "There are lots of reasons I may never have heard of you, such as you not actually being that good or notorious, not to mention I'm not privy to... your world." But to be fair he added, "Of course, I know the former is false; I watched you myself."
And this hacker, so it seemed, had values. Well, from what little he knew of them that made a little sense. After all, what was the point of power and influence if they were never exercised once in a while? That was why Tadayoshi bothered assembling a team in the first place. "If your values don't call for the misapplication of force, then you and I shouldn't have any ethical disagreements. However, we simply must, must be able to trust you to follow through on any task you agree to. An agent has to be able to think for his or her self - and it sounds like you have no problem there - but of course there's a matter of trust in each other involved. Working together, fulfilling our duties, we keep the world both safe and blissfully ignorant. If your moral sensibilities are ever challenged, I suppose I can only ask you'll have the good sense to resign. After all, it's not as if we disappear people or anything like that, and your real world CV wouldn't exactly suffer either."
"We have techcentric agents besides you who may help you open up that digivice, like Agents Satoshi Himura and Johan Walker. That sounds like your preferred line of work, though we do have some others. Agent Enkidu, for example, tends to run undercover operations, detecting threats in the digital world before they get here. Agent Himura doubles as a field agent, taking direct action as needed. As for me, well, it seems I do most of my job coordinating from HQ, not so much in the field anymore - at least until Chief Agents James and Lantis return from their leave."
Maybe the tension was down, but it was still absolutely time to talk business. "My colleague and I are willing to offer you two a Probationary Agent position. You'll get to feel us out, and vice versa. It comes with all the privileges of Agent status such as full access to AEGIS assets and facilities, housing in HQ, and, of course, pay - with the stipulation that for a period of time your performance will be watched closely and evaluated, not to mention you'll have to pass a vetting process." That sounded serious, but the young man assured Shino, "Don't worry too hard about that. We don't expect everyone to be angels and supercops, especially with such a small selection pool full of..." The General gestured to both himself and Shino before finishing, "...well, kids. So, do you accept?"

Shino listened carefully at the full details of the organization's creed, all while making sure Vector didn't interrupt. It was probably due to the fact he stole Shino's ice hot-choco to add to his snack count. Shino kept a neutral attitude as he discussed her ethics, her history and more importantly what is expected of her as a member of this team AEGIS.
"I sure do hope you don't address all your dates like this," she said in a hint of dry humor to lighten the mood from this informal meeting. This was more about the fact of about disappearing people.
IT was then that Vector took that golden opportunity to comment. "You heard the lady-- not her type, so hope you don't get any ideas working with my girl-- OOMPH!"
Another swift kick from Shino, while trying to keep her composed look. A flush of red was clear on her face, embarrassed by her Digimon's crass comment. It was then that he began to share about the facilities and aid of other members. This was of more interest to her. "Sounds like you have some amazing resources. I hope I can work with them too to help. I have the skills too similar, but its the hardware I need to read into it. Believe me, I very much wanna see the data that I invertedly hacked on... you-know-who," she said, gesturing obviously to the Digimon under the table.
What really surprised her was pay-- and room and board too if she wanted. "Wait-- this is an actual job? I knew you were a group but I figured this was kind of like a club or network. You'd actually pay me for my participation?" she asked,
A 'cha-ching' sound went off below-- and if Tadayoshi could see Vector, he would see his non-invisible eyes light up with dollar signs.
"Hmmm... Well, all I can say is I will surprise you at how quickly ill be accepted," she said and extended a hand to Tadayoshi. "I'd be happy to work with you. Think you can show a girl a tour of the place?" she asked.
The deal was pretty positive, and while Shino as a hacker prided herself as a forward, proactive woman-- the more reserved side of her, the one more dominant now, was more proper and she was more than willing to cooperate. Hopefully, Vector would agree to this and behave himself...
... but that was hard to imagine.

"The truth? My first date went even worse than this." Despite the truth in that statement, the young General managed to smile about it anyway. Why? Because he still got the girl in the end. Idols weren't even supposed to have relationships, let alone with a commoner like him, but there he was. For a moment he broke his strict character to wear a goofy smile.
The smile fell just a bit when Vector snapped at him, but Shino's reaction even got him to laugh. "Oh, are you two-? Don't worry. CA Lantis is a digimon who's with a human, too. Another man, even. It's..." Yoshi looked away a second before deciding to describe it diplomatically, "...I'm not concerned with agents' personal lives." Uh-oh! Did he think Vector was being serious? Perhaps.
"Anyway, of course I can show you. Follow me." The young man did take her hand to help her out of her seat, but that was just a chivalrous gesture. He kept his hands to himself for the rest of the walk, though, because he had a girlfriend, and so, he believed, did Vector. "We can't expect agents to do this kind of work for no compensation, can we? Resources cost money, and people are resources, too. AEGIS' funding comes mainly from relatives of the James' in addition to some other private benefactors. We have no official government support, but... well, they have an obvious interest in occasional, limited cooperation. HQ is actually very close - here in Central."
Tadayoshi spoke true. The walk was just a few minutes, no sweat for longtime city residents like the pair of them. Specifically, the building he led her and Vector into was a four-story building directly across from the Shibuya train station, and its interior was just... a market? It sure looked like one. It was neither excessively crowded nor dead empty. "That's part of our revenue, too. The building is ours, but we rent out shop space down here. It's both a little extra income and a good cover to the uninitiated. Everything's real, by the way, so if you're ever feel like new clothes, fast food, or a new computer, have a look. No visible digimon on this floor, though. The shop owners know to keep quiet, but of course we can't vet all their clients."
Tadayoshi took the pair past the noise to a stairwell in the corner, which nobody seemed interested in. It was completely empty. "HQ really starts one flight up." The group wound up exiting the stairwell to find inconspicuous office space above inconspicuous shops. Of course, there was a reception desk to get past before anyone was allowed anywhere.
"ID, sir?" Tadayoshi only had his AEGIS badge which had no photo, but apparently that was good enough for her. "And two guests," he added before explaining, "Of course everyone knows me now, but some digital world technologies and abilities could make it easy to mimic someone's appearance." Strolling on through, the group would probably notice it wasn't sales calls these n office workers were working on. They were watching TV, listening to the radio, browsing news headlines - anything that might hint at digimon activity. They all looked like humans, but perhaps every digimon's natural sense for others of their kind would alert him to the fact they weren't all what they seemed. "From here we watch, listen, to the public, and handle some of the more mundane things about running Japan's only nonprofit digimon surveillance entity: accounting, fielding conspiracy theorists, planning improvements, that kind of thing. It also still looks like a normal office building up here just in case a normal person makes it past this point."
"Any questions so far?"

Shino contained a small huff of amusement. "Why does that not surprise me?" she replied and went to take a sip of her drink-- only to find it was gone. A grumpy look crossed her face, realizing Vector swiped her food-- again. She let out a small groan and tried to not lose her cool.
The conversation went to a ridiculous and uncomfortable topic when Tadayoshi asked if they were together and how it was possible-- but Shino's cheeks went right up red and an angry look crossed her face. "WE ARE NOT A COUPLE, DUMBASS!" she said, her professionalism dropping thanks to the confusion. "Believe me, I hate it when Vector says ridiculous crap like that..."
Clearly, Vector had a one-sided crush on his own partner, or just had more screws loose in his head thanks to Shino's hack than anticipated to say such things. Either way, it was a good example of the insanity Shino had to deal with the past week as a new tamer. After things calmed down... Tadayoshi finally offered to give them a tour of the place. With a deep breath to calm herself-- and prevent herself from killing Vector or Tadayoshi for testing the girl's patience, she got up and followed. In his stealthy camouflage, Vector followed with his rifle secure strapped to his back.
The base was relatively close to the cafe-- hence why they met there it seemed. They approached a four-story office-like building that was adjacent to the train station. The inside had a market and a series of shops. It reminded Shino a bit like Nakano Broadway, a place she liked to travel to for novelty items. Tadayoshi explained stuff as they went on. "So the shops are affiliated with you guys, and even aware of the Digimon? Huh, interesting. I was wondering how you got your own funding in that case, " she asked.
Vector kept to the stealth-- till they reached the empty offices above. It was then he dropped his camouflage-- his skin still showing the pixilated colors of his surroundings. Shino saw as the desk clerk allowed them in-- including herself and her Commandramon as guests. It didn't seemed bothered now that Vector was present and was allowed in.
"Huh, interesting. I thought you had more a techy solution here but I may be jumping the gun. This looks like a good social gathering for most anywa---" Shino was interrupted as Vector hopped forward to the TV.
"Hey-hey! Can we watch Deadpool 2? Pretty Please?" Vector said to one of the people watching the television looking for Digimon news.
Shino sighed as Vector had an unhealthy fandom to the smart-mouthed comic book hero. "You see what I have to deal with?" she told Tadayoshi? "But I would of imagined you had some things like a police frequency interceptor or access to certain federal channels if you really wanna get the drop on any odd Digimon sitings? At least, from what I imagined." she mused. "Anyway, it is nice to know people here know about Digimon and they can wander about certain areas here." she said, so far understanding what she saw. While the media was a good angle to search-- Shino had ideas how to refine it to be more accurate. Especially with the aid of the Tamer's Net.

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Jul 10, 2019 9:38:59 GMT
Seated at one of the desks at the corner of the office floor, a teenager dressed in grey uniform lined with blue. His red eyes were fixed on the computer screen in front of him. He was seated with his back to the wall so that he could see others approaching, and sometimes they did, giving him updates about the movements of digimon spotted in public. He seemed a little bit nervous and anxious, holding the side of his hand to his mouth, as well as scratching his black hair every so often, as though he was a little anxious, but not overtly so, since he conducted himself with as much professionalism as he could, given he was on duty. This boy was Colin James, the acting co-head of AEGIS, and younger brother to the founder and head of the group, Sophie James. After the events of Scramble Crossing at new year's, Sophie was currently on leave in the digital world, aiming to properly train herself and her Leomon partner Lantis so that they would be more effective in future. In their absence, Sophie had asked Colin and Tadayoshi to take over operations on Earth, with specific instructions to "keep AEGIS's head down, especially with DATS lurking about." That meant they couldn't interfere with DATS operations or act in opposition against them, but they could still operate for their original purpose - to deal with low level incursions, protect the people of Tokyo, and assist tamers and good digimon that may be lost here. Colin was seated with his twin partners, Luke the Elecmon and Bellamy the Impmon, both of them dressed in smart looking grey tunics with blue lining too, but eschewed pants. Luke was seated next to Colin, working on his laptop. Bellamy meanwhile was clearly bored, seated on an office sofa behind them, playing a Nintendo Switch. As Tadayoshi and Shino entered, Colin looked up and immediately turned his attention. It seemed that Tadayoshi had brought a guest into their headquarters. Colin trusted Tadayoshi enough not to be suspicious. He stood up. "Huh? Somethin' happening?" Bellamy asked, righting himself up and standing up too, barely reaching Colin's waist. Luke did so as well. "Ah, a guest." Luke concluded. The trio would approach Tadayoshi and Shino, and noted Vector's presence too, that he was different to Tadayoshi's partner. "Hey there, Tadayoshi." Colin said, waving to his colleague as he approached speaking distance. "Looks like you've got a guest here. Would you mind introducing us?"It wasn't unusual for people in AEGIS to bring in unannounced guests, but Colin wouldn't mind being informed on the specifics here.

"It is pretty low-tech down here. You're right," Tadayoshi conceded to Shino. "Of course we listen in on emergency services, but restricted government channels are a little trickier. They do know about us, and we aren't on the best of terms these days." Tadayoshi preferred not to dive deeper into the reasoning than that; his failure wasn't pleasant to think about. "I suppose you'd be eager to-"
Tadayoshi cut himself off as he caught sight of the James brothers. They got a friendly wave and greeting, "Oh, hello there!" On request, the boy nodded and introduced the group, "Shino, Vector, this-" But where was Vector? Not paying attention, apparently. He'd wandered off to bother someone about watching a juvenile violence film. "Vector!" he called a little louder to make sure the rebel soldier heard him, no matter whether he chose to pay attention or not. "These are my colleagues, Acting co-Head Agent Colin James and Agents Luke and Bellamy James, Tamer partners." Thanks to a certain teacher the quartet of boys shared, Tadayoshi was even able to pronounce all of those L's impeccably. It didn't even take much effort anymore. "The Commandramon out there is Vector, and this is his Tamer Shino Taka. I was off-duty when my team responded to Vector's entrance to the human world only a week ago. Now they're interested in becoming AEGIS assets."
"Miss Shino here is a computer expert and hacker. I was just about to show her the floor that may actually impress her a little." That was both an explanation of Shino's purpose here and Tadayoshi's attempt at a little banter with her, thinking she had expected a little more high technology than she had seen so far.

While the eccentric Commandramon was asking to watch that rated R movie on one of the giant TVs in the HQ, a messy-haired teenager, a blue robotic Digimon and two other Digimon that both looked like Flamedramon variants, one blue with orange armor and one purple with grey armor, had entered the room. The Digimon had stopped to notice the new Tamer and Digimon, while the human had not noticed and continued walking forward, as he was messing around with something on his D-Terminal.
The shorter blue Digimon, Dokamon, had tried to warn him. "Johan, it would probably be best if you-"
"Not now, Dokamon," Johan interrupted his partner, very deep into his work. About two seconds later Johan tripped right over Vector, not knowing he was even there. "AAAAAAUGH!"
The three Digimon winced as Johan's face collided with the ground, his D-Terminal and his D3 landing right next to him. "That was both unfortunate and unprofessional."
"Hope he has a nice trip," the blue Flamedramon variant commented with a chuckle. "He'll be back next fall, right?"
"Okay that was just unprofessional." Dokamon went over to help up the new Commandramon and Johan before turning to the new recruits. "Hello there. Sorry about that. I'm Dokamon, and this is my partner Johan. The twins there are Speed and Psych. I assume you are new recruits?"

Shino tried to be as analytical and respectful as possible, keeping aware how things operated here. At first glance, while people seemed to work here-- they were also very chill. She even saw other humans with Digimon, which made her even more at ease. Clearly, Vector had no reason to hide now as he tried to arrest control of the remote from the guy watching it. However, Yoshi's shout at him tore his focus. With a grumble, he returned to rejoin the group-- which had gotten more popular.
Shino was confronted with a few new people. A nice looking guy named Colin and his partners, and a handsome younger man with a metallic-like blue digimon. Another machine empire type like Commandramon, perhaps? He looked foreign-- which seemed to make Shino straighten up in her manners. He probably would have impressed her-- if he didn't land flat on his face texting, which kind of took away from the 'dreamy' vibe he had on Shino's first impression.
Vector immediately clapped a claw over his mouth-- stifling his laughter. The flamedramon with him made a too-old to be funny joke about having a nice trip, next fall that just killed the humor for Vector. " Seriously? That joke is flatter than him!" Vector said, criticizing Johan. The Dokamon, however, looked a lot more compedent to be the one looking after him.
Shino was impressed by so many tamers around and the ones who introduced themselves to her. She straightened up and bowed to them. "Um, it's nice to meet you. I'm Shino. Shino Taka. Wow... guess Digimon Tamers are not as rare as I thought..." she said with a light chuckle with them. She reached over and shook hands with Johan and Colin.
Vector looked over the other digimon-- liking the Dokamon, Elecmon, 'wolfish impmon' and the others around him. "Ey, there. Commandramon's the name-- but since you guys know a few, I go by the name Vector. "
She truely was feeling more at ease and welcomed by being welcomed by others. While she was easily distracted by seeing so many Digimon around-- she was eagerly looking forward to see the other facility of this base. "I hope I can live up to your expectations. I am a hacker, though Digimon and the Digital World is kind of new territory for me on a programming perspective... and don't let me get started on---"
Shino stopped as she saw Vector trying to impress his new 'friends', by balancing his rifle on the tip of his nose like some crazy circus performer. Clearly, whatever role Shino had in his 'reformating' , it clearly broke the mold of the type of personality Vector had.

Colin was honestly impressed that Tadayoshi was able to pronounce their names much more accurately than most other people he had met in Tokyo that spoke Japanese. He took it as a mark of respect, and in return, he would try and pronounce Tadayoshi's name as accurately as possible. It wasn't perfect yet, but after 5 years in Japan, Colin had adjusted his accent a little bit better. Of course he couldn't shake off the midwestern US twang he had been raised to speak entirely, but he spoke the local language well enough by now to be understood.
Colin and his partners listened to Tadayoshi's introduction. The guest was named Shino Taka, and her partner, Vector, had entered the digital world a week ago, being tracked down by Tadayoshi. Familiarity ran across Colin's face as he remembered.
"Ah, of course, yes, I remember reading that incident." Colin said, nodding with acknowledgement. He had been absent from the office when it happened, but reading the briefing afterward, he had learned that Tadayoshi had handled the case himself, and thought there was little more to follow up on.
Then it was revealed that Shino was a hacker. That caught Colin's attention. "That right? Well, hopefully we can find a place for you here. To be honest, was getting a little bit worried about the integrity of our computer systems here. Normally we'd have Satoshi deal with things like that, but, he's not around much anymore." he finished with melancholy. "If you know cyber-defense as good as cyber-attack, I think we'd be happy to have you on board, Shino."
Then Johan and his crew joined the meeting. While they didn't say anything, Luke and Bellamy bristled slightly at their antics. Yes, even Bellamy could get annoyed with others acting like dickheads within the AEGIS HQ, considering their jobs here.
Shino attempted to make an introduction, but was promptly distracted by Vector suddenly doing a dangerous trick with his rifle. This was too much for Luke to tolerate.
"Okay, mister, rule one, if you don't want to be thrown out on your ass, don't dick around with firearms on the office floor!" the Elecmon snapped.
"However, on the next floor up, we have a little soundproof firin' range you can try out." Bellamy added, hoping to give these guys a chance at not being screwballs here.

"Agents Johan, Dokamon, Speed, and Psych," Tadayoshi politely acknowledged that foursome with casual wave and gentle smile. "This tour group is getting lively, isn't it?" These two did not get off on the right foot, maybe, but one group dinner and some kinks had been worked out between them. "I think I mentioned Johan earlier. I'm certain you two would get along." Thank God Luke was there to alert the rest to some rather irresponsible gun handling. Tadayoshi jumped back and tried to push others around him away from Vector as well. "Vector, that is a very, very bad idea." Tadayoshi held out his arms and spoke low and slow like a zookeeper attempting to calm an angry lion. Someone else had a very different reaction. From Tadayoshi's back pocket, a dolphin digimon, Rukamon, materialized out of a beam of light right in front of Vector. Like a happy child, he reared up a little, clapped his pectoral flippers, and exclaimed, "That is so cool! Hey, me next! Pass it to me!" Rashi even attempted to lean forward and get his nose close to Vector's hoping that would make it easier for the dragon to pass the gun straight from one snout to the next. But his sport got shut down very quickly. "Hmph." From behind the distracted Vector, a much less amused Commandramon snatched the weapon right from its owner, at which point he continued by confirming the safety was on, unlocking its magazine, and pulling its lever to safely eject any round that may have been in the chamber - all in one smooth, practiced motion, and all while pointing the weapon nowhere near any living organism. For him the motion was easy because he didn't have his own weapon to fumble with or even most of his armor. He did still wear a vest and gloves, but he was helmetless, bootless, packless, and as pantsless as a James twin. "Strict weapon discipline will be practiced at all times within AEGIS headquarters," was neither a question or an order but a stern statement of fact. He punctuated that point by throwing the now-harmless gun down at Vector's feet - but he didn't return the magazine.
Vector wasn't the only subject of the captain's scorn, however. "Rashi, you should know better."
With a defeated expression, the young Rukamon mumbled, "S-sorry, boss," before returning to the Loader. "Captain."
"Sir."
"So. Where were we?" A couple minutes later, the team found itself ascending yet again to the third of four levels, Commandramon in tow. The contrast was stunning; Shino and Vector had traveled from The Office to Avatar. "Ops," Tadayoshi explained, "This is where AEGIS happens, essentially." Along one wall there was single large screen divided into many different camera shots that rotated. Were these camera feeds? They seemed to be watching various points in the city. Occasionally, a person in their view would be digitally highlighted in some bright color. It wasn't the only screen of its kind either.
Walking on by, everyone might have overheard the chatter of some communications staff wearing headset mics, vague tidbits like, "...new one from the station..." or, "...can you safely approach?"
"With technology from our world, the digital world, and a couple toys we've even invented ourselves, we survey known digimon activity all over the city. Lower level digimon are hard to pick up in today's techno world, but we know about most every champion digimon or higher in Tokyo. We watch the train station especially closely as it's the most convenient portal, though there are certainly other ways in." Of course Shino and Vector knew that. Vector took an alternative route himself. Pointing at another wide, tall screen, Tadayoshi used a small keyboard to have it zoom in on the AEGIS HQ building.
A couple of little blue dots became easier to focus on, and each was labelled, KNOWN ENTITY, though each also had a second label attached to it: Speed or Psych. After all, they were the only champions or higher there at the moment. Peering at it made Tadayoshi frown a little, and though Shino had no reason to know why, perhaps the others knew: the first time Sophie gave him this exact welcome, she demonstrated that Lantis' label was visible on this map, but it wasn't there right now. The boy persevered. "This amplified digimon radar supplements and simplifies much of our surveillance effort," was all he could really say about it. "Colin's office is over there, and I've made camp over there." Colin got his sister's chief agent office, naturally. He was her brother after all. Tadayoshi's area was essentially a corner cubicle with a few more fancy machines and more space than the rest. "And that space-" The General pointed at a a wide circular area lined with some sort of panels. "-is where anyone using the home teleport portal winds up. It's a digivice plugin issued to all AEGIS agents."
At this point the young man yielded to his American equal, thinking for a moment before asking Colin, "What do you think? Did I miss anything?"
