There was always a constant in the Binary Archipelago no matter what season it may be elsewhere in the Digital World. It's that it was often a clear and sunny area to find yourself spending the day in. Of course, Nereid came out to the beach for a rather specific reason. One could say it was to look at cute people or to go make some ships, but it was actually a little more personal than that.
The beach itself hadn't been too crowded, as it was early in the morning, but there were still people lingering around, something that admittedly bothered Nereid a little bit. She wanted to test herself here, see how well she could swim on her own. The Syakomon slid onto the sand before she promptly digivolved into the form of Ranamon. The atrociously tall frogfish girl stretched her limbs as she stepped out towards the water. No one seemed to be paying much attention to her, so she just jumped right in and started swimming around the moment she got her bearings.
...Of course, most of what she was doing was stuff that she heard of from Yukiko. After badgering her endlessly about swimming. It kind of showed, but at least the royal shipper looked like she was having fun! Atop of this, though, she didn't have a clue about what was gonna transpire today. At least, what her mothers were probably hoping would happen.

Family goes well beyond your parents and their circle of friends, naturally. But, so far, the young Nereid had only met people from that circle. Both Mizu and Titania had decided that the girl needed to meet her extended family, as well. Such as her grandparents. For this purpose, Mizu had gone out, and asked her adoptive father, Watatsumi, to meet with the clam. Due to his size, the Plesiomon X expressed concern over approaching the beach. Which is where the swimming lessons came in. If Nereid could swim from the shore, they could meet.
And so it came that, as the Ranamon swam, a large white shadow approached, and soon surfaced, revealing the immense white head of the plesiosaurus Digimon! "Ah, be not afraid, young girl. I mean you no harm."

Nereid's swim came to an abrupt halt as a large, white shadow made itself apparent underneath the waves and surfaced to reveal the head of a Plesiomon. The Ranamon craned her head up, her face indicating that she didn't feel any fear. "Oh, hi there! My name's Nereid, who might you be?" There was a familiarity coming off from Watatsumi, but Nereid couldn't quite put it down.
In the meantime, the other person (and his sister) that Nereid's parents had arranged to come out here had barely been arriving. An Apollomon and a Dianamon stepped onto the beach and glanced around. Immediately, the Dianamon wandered off to do her own thing--the Apollomon, meanwhile, actually kept his eyes peeled, swiftly noticing the Plesiomon X out from the shore.
"...Hm. Maybe I'll just hang back for a bit." Was one of those the Syakomon that Titania told him to look out for...? Regardless, the Apollomon dared not to venture out from the shore just yet. ...He also didn't really consider the fact he could've come here in a smaller form, either.

Watatsumi blinked. He wasn't used to people not being scared when he appeared. But then, he smiled warmly at him. "Ah, nice to meet you, Nereid. My name is Watatsumi. And your mother, Mizu, is my child. I am your grandfather." A simple fact, stated without much grandeur. Watatsumi was a tad surprised to see Nereid in this form. Mizu had described her as a as a Syakomon. But this name, and this open nature...there was little doubt that he'd found the right Digimon. He still couldn't believe his beloved adopted child Mizu had a child of her own, much less with the definitely female Tinkermon Titania. But the Digital World was full of wonders, so he did not question it further than that.

THAT explained it! That explained why this single Plesiomon felt so familiar to the Ranamon! The links being formed and the connections being made elicited a bright smile from Nereid. A simple fact that was indeed. "It's nice to get to meet you! Like...um. In person. I have some memories from Mom, but those do little to tell me what you're like or who you are."
Though, his presence here did raise wonder from Nereid. "How come you came out here? Was it because of me?"
The Apollomon, meanwhile, picked up the name 'Nereid.' That was the Syakomon. That. "...Ah, I'm going to dislike this, aren't I." He murmured as he hopped up to start floating onto the water. Didn't want to start evaporating the sea, after all. As the Apollomon approached Nereid and Watatsumi, he paused.
"Good morrow, friends."
...He butchered that, didn't he. "Who're you supposed to be?"

The immense Plesiomon X nodded. "Why yes, I came down here because of you. A little frog had told me I would meet you out here. You and..." His eyes trailed towards the Apollomon. Ah, this must be the -other- grandfather. "...your grandparents from the other side of your family. Greetings, sir." He bowed towards the Apollomon. Physically, he towered over the lionman. But he could feel they would easily be evenly matched in sheer power. "It would appear an impromptu family meeting has come to order. Maybe we should move someplace more shallow, so we can all be comfortably positioned."

A frog told the Plesiomon she'd come here? "...I'm gonna go out on one of my newfound limbs and assume that the frog was my mom, considering the knowledge given was...uh. Accurate." The Ranamon spoke before she turned her attention fully on what Watatsumi had assumed was the other grandfather, something that elicited a chuckle from the Apollomon.
"Uh...Hi." The Ranamon managed. These were two...very different individuals she was looking between, that much was certain.
Honestly, the sheer size of the Plesiomon should've been intimidating to the Apollomon, but he was simply amused. It was like he knew they were equals. "A greeting to you as well, friend. My name's Xu." He responded towards the Plesiomon, before he glanced down. "It's no discomfort being here, but I'm willing to relocate if you are."
Would they move, or would they remain?

"If you feel no discomfort, then we shall remain here. Beaching myself is always a bother." The giant reptile chuckled. "So, it would seem this impromptu family meeting is now in session. It is quite odd to suddenly have your family expand in size because one of your children is a hopeless romantic and had a child. And such a nice one, too. Your many step-aunts and step-uncles would like you a lot." Mizu *had* mentioned Watatsumi had a lot of children, it just never seemed to matter until it dawned on Nereid that this meant she had a -lot- of uncles and aunts. The Plesiomon X then turned to Xu. "Does your child have a lot of siblings, too? If so, then a true full family meeting would require a much larger venue!" He chuckled again.

Xu didn't feel discomfort in the slightest. It was just floating, after all. Not like it was the hardest thing in the world when you've been around for a good amount of digital years. "Yes, quite odd indeed. Though I did know about Titania's love for your daughter--she wouldn't stop talking about her last time I spoke to her." The Apollomon glanced down to Nereid. "...I wish I could say the same about you having a lot of aunts on my side, but Titania's an only child."
Nereid nodded a few times. "I knew that. I didn't know Mizu had siblings, though...Grandpa Tsu, how are my aunts and uncles like?" She asked while Xu pondered how...exorbitantly large a true familial meeting would be. "...Do they even fit in an auditorium...?" The Apollomon murmured.

"And Mizu would not stop talking about your daughter, Mr. Xu, it would seem these two are incredibly close." Watatsumi then chuckled at Nereid's question. "Your aunts and uncles are all incredibly diverse and different. Some are aloof, some are shy, some are active, they are all as different as the currents that draw them towards me. My family is not one by blood, but by soul. I adopt the children orphaned by the dangers of sea and land, and give them love, shelter and a family. At this point, my family must number in the hundreds, considering how many children have already left over the centuries to seek their own destiny." He chuckled again over the auditorium concerns. "I doubt we could invite every single aunt or uncle, no auditorium could hold them, but those closest to Mizu still number in the high tens."

That was something the Apollomon couldn't help but chuckle at! "I'd expect nothing less, really. Titania does have a knack for finding friendship wherever she might go. I'm...not sure if it's a Tinkermon thing or not, actually." Meanwhile, the Ranamon listened to Watatsumi's explanation regarding the numerous aunts and uncles that she had, and the numerous in-laws that Titania herself had. Both she and the Apollomon repeated that theoretical number to themselves.
"In the hundreds..."
Nereid finally had something to ask. "The ones closest to mom--Who are they? Like...Um. Describe them to me. Any one of them. Or however many you want to describe, at least."

"Ah, there are a great many I could describe. There is your uncle Charlot the Rosemon, who was a major influence on your mother's openmindedness when it comes to romance. Charlot has been known to romance anything that can think and is an adult, from Digimon and digital phenomena to humans. Your aunt Narumi spends most of her time spelunking and exploring. She is a Breakdramon who delights in finding ruins and riches. She's a bit gruff, but she has a sweet heart. Oh, and there is your aunt Franziska, who is a genius seamstress, to the point that the lunar Digimon base hired her to make their space suits. She's a bit odd, but is very friendly, you'd get along with her." He chuckled. He was just scratching the surface. His family was as vast as the sea. But he did not want to be the only one talking. Surely Xu had a lot to say, too.

The Ranamon simply sat within the waters and listened to her grandfather speak about her numerous aunts and uncles. Of all of the ones spoken about right this moment? She could see a number of characteristics that they all shared with Mizu. Nereid seemed to smile the most at Franziska, though. "So, Auntie Fran's in space? That sounds really neat! Where are Charlot and Narumi now, though? Like...um. Where do they live?"
Xu did indeed have much to say, but it was nowhere near as voluminous as Tsu. "Well, Titania doesn't have siblings but she does have cousins. Three still living, I believe. I think the literal black one, Medea, hangs around one of the members of the Field Club, no? The other two, Weiss and..." A pause and a sigh. "Luna are clerks within Terminus. I honestly have trouble keeping track of them sometimes, so I apologize if any of that was...vague."
In truth, it kind of was.

"Narumi is currently residing in the Western Flatlands, in the desert near the ruins, organizing a dig for treasures. I think she seeks the Mask of the Digital Pharaoh to sell it to a museum. As for Charlot, you usually find him around Terminus, chatting up people and Digimon alike and taking them to bars. He's a bit of a free spirit." He chuckled, and nodded as Xu explained the other relatives. "Ah, this Digital Field Club is very connected to our families, is it not? It is how Titania and Mizu met, after all. Quite the result for a science club." He chuckled again. So far, this had been rather calm. This was just fine by him.

Huh, Aunt Narumi was an archaeologist? That was pretty close to how the Field Club was a group of scientists, though Nereid was fairly certain that the Field Club specialized in a more broad sort of science than simply digital archaeology. It didn't surprise neither Nereid or Xu that Charlot was a bona fide socialite. That's probably where Mizu learned some of her skills from, really.
"Indeed it is. I've read about them a few times in the news--fascinating individuals with their own talents between them. I do worry about the endeavors they get up to, especially after what Titania told me of the desert incident a year ago, but..." The lion shrugged. "I can't worry about everything. I can only trust in my daughter and the company she keeps."
Calm indeed. The lion appeared to have a sorta...tempered outlook on things, to put it lightly...
"...What sort of treasures are like the Mask of the Digital Pharaoh? Heck, what's the mask like in the first place?" More questions out of nowhere from Nereid!
