"Would make sense if that was the case, but a lot of this follows luminas designed equipment. I bet most of it is from when he still worked there and this is just what he managed to take with him?"
Infini storages were a thing and some of the smaller stuff would easily fit in the darned thing. Chalice looked over a lot of the equipment, checking for serial numbers only to find that they didn't have any... Which sort of sad oddly with her.
The physical file storage didn't really garner much of a reaction other than a few mumbled corrections. Chalice had a hard time separating her own work ethics from what they were supposed to be doing, with a tch she'd pull out one small folder and shake her head before moving on.
"Bastard always keeps experiment logs for everything. Including us."
Then the next room, chalice's jaw dropped and her eyes widened a bit. She legitimately didn't know what to really make out of the room. The mastemon tucked the folder away in an infini-storage of her own and without even breaking a stride she'd go up to the computer that read the templates.
"There is more than likely, I can send them through the teleporter we can in one at a time. If we could take portals out we could also take them in, why do you think the teleportation grid was so important?"
Mastemon turned her head to look to Carlos as he told her about the food. The digimon brought a hand to her chin and rubbed at it. She didn't know exactly, food wasn't his specialty but why was there so much of it here?
"If I had to guess it's laced with suppliments for each of the different mons. Each one of them having a strict diet to maximize their performance to keep them at a certain level for enlongated times. He did that to me as children too. Laced with vitamins, core supplements and well. It's part of the reason I can't De-Digivolve or Digivolve properly. I just change shape round this one. The first clone is just stuck in super mega pretty much permanently but reads however the hell she wants to."
Then came the next question that made chalice close her eyes. Sighing softly and trying to just focus the digimon move slightly from the computer reading templates.
"Let me see if I can start some kind of wake up program to at least get start.... Wait. Why-...."
Chalice's eyes widened in surprise at the fact someone had de-activated the teleportation pad. With a groan the mon put a hand to her face dragging it across her faceplate.
"Orion knew we were coming. He must of rigged it for a one time shift or had it on a timer of some kind. I bet if we find his personal quarters, which likely will be next to his primary lab... We could turn it off and send the meicoomon's on their way. If we leave them in the vats for the mean time they'll be safer than if with us as we still have a lot to deal with."
The last question that carlos posed, the one about the meicoomon's had the mastemon fidget a bit. There was a huge stigmatism regarding the cat type digimon, one that they didn't personally understand and after a moment she'd reach up to put a hand to one of the vats, staring at the digimon inside.
"The reason why we didn't specify which kind of mon had gotten primarily kidnapped was to avoid public back lash. Malganoth's children, a pair of Twins. Vivian and Grace are pop idols so they avoid a lot of it. But these kids either had homes they didn't care for, were stolen from their beds of loving families or... were on the streets in terminus. People don't care about meicoomons. Don't care for their evolutions. They might have this hunger but if you take care of them it can vanish entirely. This just goes to prove that people stopped caring about them and it's sickening."
Chalice sighed a bit and ran her hands through the template computer, tutting a bit as she eventually found what she was looking for. A awakening sequence but... The digimon groaned after a few moments.
"We need an administer key, one incorrect guess and the computer locks down for twenty four hours. We're going to have to move on for the mean time and come back once we've gotten to his quarters. The main door is open Carlos; it's been unlocked this whole time. Opening it will just trigger some kind of alarm. One that I can't turn off.
The scientist shook her head and after taking a few moments to look around the meicoomon filled room she'd frown lightly. She'd walk out to the door and stare up at it, a mix of hatred and love on her face as she stared at the symbol on the door.
"This does mean one thing though, that the guards he has spread throughout the facility? They're probably clones of the bunch here. He really loved doing that sort of thing enmasse.
Another longer pause still and the mastemon rubbed at her temples.
"If he de-activated the Pad it means he knows we're here and we're going to have to fight every single one of those blips save for Vivian."

Honestly, Chalice's words coupled with the bleak scene of the "tank room" was enough to make Carlos' stomach twist and churn. He could feel his pulse growing more rapid and his hands tremble, both in fear, sickness...and pure rage.
"Agreed." Even if some of the fears about Meicoos were justified, even if they had almost as bad press as the demon lords...hell, even if they were a plague, there was no justification for any of this. This all just defied any sense of moral and ethic and went beyond any personal bias. This was just plain monstrous...
"This is just...fucked. There's no other word for it." With that he'd turn to Syre and Chalice, "I don't care what it takes we are getting everyone out of here, not just Vivian." Gio meanwhile had stayed mostly silent so far...but judging by the slowly increasing growl in his throat it was clear he agreed with the sentiment. And maybe wanted to tear Orion's head off his shoulders.
Alas, things wouldn't be quite as easy according to the mastemon, what with them needing a password and a way out, seeing how quite worryingly this Orion had seen them coming and prepared accordingly, which of course did little to calm the man down. Though even then Chalice was still rather quick to correct the man of his flub!
"R-right sorry, I'm just..." He stammered and sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose as he visibly tried to calm himself down. "...still wrapping my head around this whole madness. So we should find the admin key in his living quarters you think?"
"...what's this Meicoo talk?" A voice rang out from behind them, Carlos feeling his heart sink as he heard the imp finally catch up to them. He wanted to stop him from looking into the room but it was for naught, Dio had already seen and heard it all.
The imp stood there, frozen for a moment, gears turning in his head as he processed what he had just seen. Unfortunately for him, he pieced the puzzle together almost instantly. Meicoomons...why did it have to be meicoomons?
"No..." he took a step back. Then another, then another, until he was with his back against the cold metal wall. His chest felt like it was about to burst, and his breathing was growing more frantic with every passing second. "...no no no no no!"
He practically cried as he grasped at his neck, blurry images of fangs, trees, a cabin and tendrils assaulting his mind. For a moment any semblance of composure he had dissapeared as he just turned into...a very frightened kid, just wanting to dissapear right there and then. And would have probably gotten worse, had the man not gotten immediatelly on his knees, face at the same level as Dio's, his arms wrapping around the frightened imp and just...tightly hugging him.
Was this going to give an awful first impression on Chalice? Perhaps, but it couldn't be any worse than if he let his partner keep on going alone.
"Dio, easy. Easy. You're fine, you're not alone this time." He said, a level of tenderness on his tone almost unheard off, something Syre herself would have probably heard only once or twice coming from the man. Like that time when he told her about the D-Reaper all those months ago... "Well get through this together. As a team and family. Ok?"
By now Gio would have joined in, holding tightly to the imp's hand with his own. Soon enough, Dio's breathing would slow down, and he'd blink a couple of times, as if regaining his awareness. "S-sorry, I just...that won't happen again."
Carlos simply gave him an understand nod as he finally let go, before getting close to Chalice and whispering in her ear, "Please don't ask, he's just...had bad experiences with Meicoomons before."
Last thing he wanted was to blow this thing out even more. But now that was dealt with? He simply pulled out his now glowing digivice, and took a deep breath before pressing it. If the alarm was going to go off anyway...what was the point of being stealthy? Soon enough, his partners were surrounded by a warm, blindingly bright light, their rookie forms now replaced by that of a NeoDevimon and a BlackWarGrowlmon respectively, both of them stnading ready by the sides of the large door.
"We're ready to go whenever you are."

So they'd need an administrative key.
It made sense, but it was still frustrating for the Sistermon. To her, each of those floating Meicoomon was another Holly, a poor soul trapped for some evil person's experiments. The Sistermon was about to just nod, sigh, and go along with it... but Dio's freak-out caught her attention. Rather than see the Meicoomon for the poor, trapped Digimon that they were, he instead recoiled in fear.
Not of the pods, but of the image of the cat itself. Syre grit her teeth, closed her eyes, and just bit her tongue. It wasn't Dio's fault, that MeiCrackmon incident definitely took a lot out of him, though Syre couldn't help but give a retort:
"You were held against your will, and tortured by a monster. Well. The same thing's happening here, to each of them." Syre stepped back into the main hall, looking towards that door, as Chalice gave her assessment. They had no way to go but forward, and with the pad closed off as it was, it was likely that they already knew they were here. The pads were either turned off remotely or automatically - and because of that, they were likely lying in wait for an ambush.
"... Chalice, there's no possible way that's correct." Syre's voice was calm - they were in a far better position than they figured. "Its far more likely that the pad was simply designed to shut off after use - in fact, that's probably its default setting. It's much safer for this sort of facility if they keep the pad off a majority of the time, so this sort of failsafe shouldn't surprise us. As for the door..."
Syre thought about it a little further.
"... The Meicoomon room would require either ventilation or waste disposal. That would mean that there's a vent or a line, somewhere in the ceiling or the floor, that might lead directly to the experimental labs deeper in the facility. If the entrance is too small, we'll just cut around the edges and make it a little bigger."
She gave a nod. "This door's the choke-point. We're at a disadvantage the moment we press through - let's snake around from behind!"

Chalice shifted a bit as Carlos said that without a doubt they would get these meicoomon's out too. In fact they were to get everyone out of here, not just vivian. Hearing the low growling from Gio, Chalicce frowned lightly and then blinked a bit as the Impmon seemed to have a little break down. He must of had some kind of experience with Meicoomon and the scientist just averted her eyes.
"I'll take your word on it, just don't be surprised if the guards we have to fight are meicoomon digivolutions."
The mastemon pulled her map back out and flicked one of her wings as syre addressed the fact that she was probably incorrect and that the pad was likely just designed to turn off after use. If that was the case then why would it be open to receiving signals if off? Too many questions she didn't want to know the answer to.
But then the golem had quite the idea, chalice perking up a bit and fidgeting with her map scanner. After a few moments a much smaller room would be the central focus, they'd lose out on the vision of the other rooms for the mean time but... They'd gain what they sought.
A vent and a line. One seemed to be collected from all the meicoomon vats and led straight down while the vent seemed to curve into the room ahead of them. Chalice bit her lip and looked towards the ground with a huff.
"No on the down, to get into those lines we'd need to be about the size of a baseball. The high pressure leads somewhere though and I'm not sure where. Likely whatever liquid he has in there is to keep them clean and healthy. Hmm. The vent is large enough for human sized people but the entry issss..."
Chalice looked about and with a small 'aha' pointed to the vent that was sitting almost at the top of the cieling. She'd walk over and ponder for a moment before turning her head to the others.
"Syre first, then Gio, Then dio, then carlos, then me. I can give everyone a boost up to it and just float up to the entry myself."
Honestly order didn't matter to chalice as long as she was the last one to go in. After all she doubted that the others could hoist people up that high. Her wing tendrils would form a little staircase for the group to walk on and barring the short struggle of getting the vent off... Well.
They'd find that the vent led right into the next room. Where there were four mon's simply standing in a massive warehouse like room. Two of them were standing up high on what looked to be catwalks and the other two were on ground level. They weren't moving in the slightest and simply stayed put even as the vent was slid away...
It'd take a moment before their appearance would register with the group. Each meicrackmon had the stereotypical trousers of a gargomon with the bandoleer across their chest. Much of the body where the fur would be normally was instead replaced by rapidmon looking armor. Their hands were replaced with those of the Gargomon's and the locale where the long ears of rapidmon would be were the meicrackmon instead. Each one of them had a breathing apparatus that seemed to be self sufficient and ports on one side that looked much like the size of the MRE's they found earlier...
Each one of them also had the rapidmon missile launcher on their backs. Even when the group entered none of them moved, none of them even addressed them in any fashion. Each one of them simply staring at the door. One could wave their hand in front of them and they wouldn't do anything. Simply standing, waiting. As though that was their absolute purpose.
On the other side of the room directly across from the door that the group would of come into was an elavator door. There was an array of buttons on the panel... but the red light on the panel itself was a little worrying.
"...What on earth."
Chalice's voice was barely a whisper and she'd look around noting the many cargo boxes, storage containers and otherwise... transports that were in the room. There seemed to be a few large transports that had been folded down to make space. Chalice shot a glance upwards and then motioned to the rest of the group.
"A skyline, that must go directly to the surface... We don't need the teleporter to get out at the end and we can take the meicoomon's in those transports. If they aren't locked. How do you spose we get the door open for the elevator?"

"I know." The demon replied to the golem, just as tersely. He could understand her position on the whole situation, considering Sistermon seemed like a far more detatched and cold form, as well as her natural reaction to seeing Meicoomons in captivity considering...well, Holly. Didn't stop her retort from unwittingly cutting the Dark Lord deep, but he knew that wasn't the intent. "I won't let them go through it any longer if I have any say in the matter."
Luckily however, thanks to Syre's quick thinking they saved themselves having to trigger any alarms prematurely, having found a way around into the room through a vent. Though upon hearing the term "human sized" the twins could only exchange one look before giving a shared sigh, the light fading from their forms as they once again shrinked back to their original rookie shape.
A claustrophobic one way trip later and they were finally out on the other side of the room. What was on the other side was...bizarre. And frightening. Four meicrackmons that seemed to have been spliced with parts of other digimons like gargomon and rapidmon stood guard. Quietly. Unmoving. All things considered Dio took it relatively well, only takinga frightful step back before being grabbed by Gio long enough for the Impmon to see that the meicrackmons weren't quite swarming them yet. In fact they barely seemed alive, just staring in a straight line ahead almost like they were living machines that had run out of battery.
Well, at least Dio had seen them in his rookie form...anything higher would have probably reacted by trying to stab them through the neck.
"...what the fuck even."
Chalice was quick to get their attention away from that however, what with the skyline and the large transports. Was this a hangar of sorts, perhaps?
"Isn't there a chance of more enemy reinforcements coming from here though?" The man pondered, biting his lip as he took note of the transports. That and...considering the current behaviour of the "guards", he had a small idea as to what could possibly be inside some of the containters. Honestly, the faster they left the room the better.
"I'm guessing you can't just hack into the elevator door...if that's the case I'm pretty sure any of them can force it open, though no idea how safe or functional the elevator will be afterwards..." He whispered, glancing back at the meicrackmons for a moment, "...but I'm fairly certain they'll be all over us as soon as we try anything."
There was a possible solution for this problem, provided the Meis wouldn't react to danger fast enough...but after being the one to say they'd try to rescue everyone in the facility Carlos was understandably not too thrilled about sharing such a pragmatic, if incredibly ruthless idea. There had to be a better way.

"Oh, trust me. Whoever's doing this is going to pay, a thousand times over."
The Sistermon gave a frustrated tsk - both at Dio's words and the fact that they were likely going to have to fight more 'Hollies' as they went on through the facility. But, fortunately enough, there wouldn't be a guns-blazing, burst down the door moment. With a vent above, they could make their way deeper through the facility. The Sistermon closed her eyes, light blinking and fading around her until a BlackGatomon remained.
Hoisted up into the vent, she'd help the Guilmon - likely the most cumbersome in the group - slip in behind her, and soon they would all make their way through to the next room. The duct led to a large, open warehouse area - and with four suspiciously inert guards around them, Syre spared Dio a glance to make sure that he was holding up.
She'd land inside the area, quickly moving to cover, only to find that the guards had absolutely no interest in them! Well, that was convenient - enough for Syre to give a sigh, life finally back in her voice. "You're telling me, Carlos. Makes me wonder if they grafted them or force-fed them data. Either way, its fucked..."
The cat shook her head, taking stock of the room, looking over to the elevator as Chalice mentioned it. "Shouldn't it be the same as the containment tanks? Once we have an admin key or an ID card or something, we should be able to use the elevators normally. Actually..." She circled around one of the guards, careful not to touch, to see if any sort of identification would be on them.
She doubted it. This one looked rigid and still as a robot.
"That said, how do we even go forward from here? I'm guessing these are the first four data signals you mentioned, so the others should be, like, straight out thataways or something?"

"Well they won't be going anywhere anytime soon without us. So don't worry too much."
Chalice bit her lip a little bit and looked around the large warehouse, even goingg so far as to float down. Not quite touching the ground to look over some of the crates.
"There would be if the main hub wasn't under attack right now, they'll have their focus there. If re-enforcements came it'd be one of the signals below."
The mastemon floated up to one of the meicrackmon, furrowing her brow slightly. They were so... lifeless and it was actually making the mastemon a touch worried. She'd break out a scanner and run it over one of the ones on the ground raising her brows slightly as... she got nothing from doing so.
"It's like it's not even a digimon, it's not coming up with anything. This is strange."
Chalice turned her head to look to syre who seemed to think that they did either or both of them. The angel sighed softly and put her scanner away to break out the map again.
"He likely did both, force fed them data so that they had more of it inside them that would accept the graft of the more extreme parts. Increased ratio of success that way."
As syre circled the closest guard to her, she'd note that they did indeed have Identification. But not in any real way that she could use, a sequence of numbers on it's breastplate. Ending with the numbers 830, the others would yield similar numbers: 832, 833, and 860.
"These would be the four yes. The next two should be through that door. What I assume to be the elevator hallway leading straight into the elevator. Or they're just waiting in there. If I had to guess there's a sequence of some sort that must be entered into the Elevator door to open it but we don't have anything like that."
The mastemon floated down to the elevator and let herself stop floating just above the ground so that she could sort of look over the panel to the elevator. She'd wave her scanner and grit her teeth as she got nothing, switching to the map to see if the signals were still there.
"They're right through here. They're IN the elevator. One of them has to have some kind of code input but I don't think it'd be a wise idea to physically interact with them. Scanning and what not seems to be fine...
Chalice was at a loss for ideas and then frowned, putting a hand to her chin to give it a soft rub.
"...If I know Orion well enough, there should be something around here to help us with the elavator sequence. Whether it be from the guards he has here to... something else. I don't know exactly. I hope we don't have to fight them, I don't think I'd particularly enjoy it."
It would likely be syre to notice this little detail with how close she got to the nearest guard. A soft mechanical whirring as though something was kick starting...

The hint had to be in this room.
But the information they had to go off of was scarce. What exactly did Chalice mean that there would be something around here to help with the code? "What, is Orion a playful sort or something? I wouldn't think that he'd leave such an obvious vulnerability. Though..."
Hearing an engine start up from the guard nearest her, Syre gave a step back, and called it out: "Keep your eye on this one - don't stay in its line of sight, at least. It might be turning on." Syre kept her voice calm, however - an idea forming in her head. She spoke fast, putting her voice at about half-volume as she calculated an idea.
"But the guards have to have an operation time - even static, they have to have an 'operationally efficient' time, right? If we stay small when one of their timers run out, we can just wait for them to go to the elevator, steal their code, and then knock them out from behind and ride on up."
With any luck, this guard was about to turn on!

"Fucked" was a very mild way of putting things. Whatever thing Orion had done to his subjects was nothing short of abhorrent. Which only made the man more uneasy as Chalice let the group know that Orion had a way to get through that door somewhere in the elevator. Was...he actually wanting people to break in? Somehow, that thought was a lot more concerning than amusing.
"Either that or he has poor memory for passwords." Carlos quipped, shaking his head. Really this whole situation just kept getting more and more bizarre. After meeting "automated" guards like this, the so called Hanged Mon leaving such a glaring vulnerability out in the open didn't seem entirely far fetched at this point.
That said, a very faint sound vaguely resembling an engine starting up, as well as Syre telling the trio to "keep their eyes" on one of the cats was enough to elicit a shocked, mildly fearful look from Carlos.
"Fuck." He didn't know what was worse, the fact they would soon be locked into a room with one (and possibly soon to be more) murderous chimera of a digimon, or the fact Syre's plan involved sneaking past it before trying to take them out.
Non-lethally, if possible.
"Would...that even be possible?" Dio asked as he shot the Mastemon a glance. These things already seemed to defy logic if that scan was of any indication, who could say if they would even be able to be pacified? But they didn't really have much of a choice right now, did they?
As such, Carlos and the twins began to look for a nice place to hide behind so that none of the guards would immediatelly notice them should they decide to become active, which would prove to be relatively easy to do, given the amount of containers and machinery of the room.

"Try very forgetful of small nuances like this, codes and what not aren't exactly his forte. More his late wife or the first clone."
Chalice gave a shrug and mulled over the nearest meicrackmon to her, she'd sort of float about and tut to herself. She could see some weaknesses here, the armor wasn't seamless and well... there were places where she could tell were just flatly thinner than most...
"In this vein you'd be correct. Following... That sounds like a reasonable idea; I don't know how easy it'll be to knock one of these out but from what I can gather their armor is the thinnest on their backs. So much so it's cracking a little bit. Seems to be that way as their front is designed to take much more punishment."
The mastemon turned her head and let out a soft chuckle at carlos' distress. Honestly when it came down to it the five of them were far more dangerous than this group they were stuck with. The mastemon blinked when Dio asked if it would be possible; chalice put a hand to her chin giving it a soft rub.
"In theory. Give them a good whack at the back of the head, hard enough to break through the armor there and we could knock them out in one fell swoop... In that regard."
Chalice herself would float up, way above the view points of all the guards and sort of hang out by the 'entrance' that was seen earlier. It wouldn't be hard to find a hiding place near the elavator as this place was filled to the brim with containers.
The one guard that had started whirring? Their eyes slowly slowly opened and a red glint could easily be seen. It'd do a full sweep from left to right as to check if anyone was there before turning on a dime. Strutting towards the elavator.
There was a moment where it looked like it was going to do something by the door. Reaching up and even going to punch a code in, though it'd pause and quirk it's ears as though straining to hear something. A few seconds passed and it'd pull back, seeming to almost frown. Giving a small shrug to itself after a moment it'd punch in the code into the elavator and.... Simply return to it's last position; the meicrackmon slowly powering down with a soft few words.
"Good night sir."
Chalice blinked a bit and floated down to the floor, scratching at her head with a somewhat confused expression.
"Pre-determined factors, we don't fit into any possible scenario so it adjusted it to follow suit what seemed proper? Maybe? Tch. Whatever lets just get into the next hallway. I don't want to really question it."
The mastemon would try to hurry the group along in case the door to the next room would close. Sovereigns willing they'd follow in and then would come the new challenge in front of them. Their signals were obvious the moment they were standing in the room.
A pair of meicrackmon's, both as still as the first group.
One was wearing tigervespamon looking armor and wielding a dangerous sword. Most of it's head was interlaced with the bug's type of helm, most of it looking painfully grafted in. Some of it looked natural however, much of the armor and even the wings seemed to of grown out of the meicrackmon itself as the lack of fur on certain parts stood out like a sore thumb. It's flesh looking sickly in comparison to the others.
The other... Well it looked dangerously like a Hi-Andromon, but the nature of that digimon was somewhat overwhelming in points. It's arms, legs and much of it's chest were replaced with parts from the robotic digimon. The few parts that weren't the android like digimon well... Were the head, parts of it's hands, it's feet and those nasty looking tendrils with shockers at the end. The last notable difference is that it did indeed have a tail but most of it was weaponized, the end rather ending in a spike like length was a fire arm of sorts.
"...A small hallway with two ultimates. I... would rather not fight these. Let me see if the less sickly one has an interface I can hack into... keep watch all right?"
Chalice would huff a bit and float forward, there was no reaction from the meicrackmon and after a few moments? Well she'd be plugged into the Hi-Meicrackmon, fiddling around a bit. Somewhere during the last few minutes the mastemon had pulled out a sucker and stuck it in her mouth. It was more a nervous tick as they got closer to what amounted to her father.
"...This is really complex robotics, I've never got to really take a look at X-003 but ho boy... This'll take a few minutes."

Yeah, Syre didn't need too much encouragement to follow her own advice! She stuck back near Carlos, looking carefully around the corner as the MeiCrackmon whirred to life. Dio wondered if this plan would be possible, but... honestly, this went better than the BlackGatomon ever could have expected. Not only did the machine open the door for them, it also greeted the collective of them as Orion himself!
Huh. Well, it was within the range of possibility, and Syre would lead right along to the next room, revealing two more MeiCrackmon, primed and ready to go after the door. And they would have had to deal with these after fighting the three in the main room - and who was to say the ones behind this wouldn't pincer in anyway?
Syre gave a relieved sigh, staying in her BlackGatomon form so as to not spike a data signal. "Feels like we're walking on the narrowest tightrope in the world, here..." She gave a nod to the Mastemon, and would go on forward a bit to watch the next door, the cat taking care to stay near Dio.
Because, really... "You holding up alright? I wasn't expecting all of the guards to be based off of Meicoomon." Syre managed a smile, and would even bump an elbow against the imp's side. "I'm sure the Dark Lord can get through all this, somehow."

Well that was...unsettling, but in the end it seemed things worked out in the groups favor! They avoided one fight for the time being and managed to get the door open at the same time. All by doing pretty much nothing, hilariously enough. The three partners weren't about to look a gift horse in the mouth however, and were quick to follow after Chalice out of the room, the man giving one quick if saddened look back as they crossed through the open door. Even if things became even harder for them, he couldn't stand the thought of leaving all the test subjects behind. Nobody deserved such a horrible fate...except perhaps the one behind this madness.
Speaking of madness, waiting ahead of them would be yet another pair of these spliced Meicrackmons keeping guard, this time there didn't seem to be a proper way around them however, so that left the group on Chalice's capable hacking skills.
As they waited for Mastemon well, there wasn't much to do other sit around metaphorically (and in Gio's case literally) twiddling their thumbs for a bit, keeping watch in case anyone decided to come their way. Dio however, upon feeling someone nudging him on the side couldn't help but shudder just a bit, an understandable reaction seeing how tense he clearly was. He soon calmed as he turned only to find Syre however, whom despite her earlier brutally direct comment seemed to...actually be trying to encourage him.
"Huh?" Either heartwarmed by his niece going out of his way to trying to help him, and maybe wanting to bolster her confidence some in return he'd give her a confident smile.
"You kidding me right?" He said, puffing out his chest ever so slightly, "It will take more than a couple cats to stop your uncle!"
Letting out an almost relieved sounding sigh, he'd soon add in a far quieter tone, "Thanks Syre." Always knowing what to say to keep him from the edge, she really took after her mother...
"The Dork Lord's back?" Gio teased, giving his smaller brother a quick hug (or a neck hold, it was hard to tell), seemingly having paying more attention to him and his niece than anything else, really.

Chalice's brow furrowed and she'd rapidly go over the coding that was scrolling across her screen. This was a lot to take in all at once, command variables, personality routines... There wasn't a lick of information regarding the host in this one. It was just a central data hub!
"Feh. He completely wiped this one, there's no trace of memories or a personality. Just a list of rules it has to follow. I'm going to add one in that list to help give us access to the next area. The only reason it hasn't turned on is because the setinals from the room prior didn't engage in combat. I don't think Orion expected us to crawl through the vents at all."
To be honest why would he? He was used to people kicking down his door and go in guns blazing. It's how most of the digital world seemed to deal with their problems now days anyways... More rapid clicking and typing on her holopad and after a bit the mastemon unplugged from the Hi-Meicrackmon. The latter whirring to life and greeting chalice as though she was supposed to be there.
"Good morning Ma'am. Do you need assistance?"
"Yes me and my assistants need you to open the elavator. Orion forgot to give us a pass to the lower levels again."
"Very well Ma'am."
Curt, courteous and the Hi-Meicrackmon would turn on a dime, punching a dizzying amount of codes into the elavator. The mastemon rubbed at the back of her head, looking over the holopad and all the codes that were there. The moment that the Hi-Meicrackmon was done punching in the codes however she'd put the holopad away with a tsk.
"Elavator is open for you and your assistants Ma'am. Have a wonderful evening."
Polite, chirpy and with a soft smile the Hi-Meicrackmon would return to it's previous position before powering down. Chalice let out a sigh and motioned for the others to follow her again. Honestly she was a little surprised that this was going so well. But they were making the right choices where they needed to. Once inside the elevator the mastemon pulled out the scanner, selected the only other floor and well... it'd start going down.
"I was able to get some information of the next few guards and Sovereigns above are they... a little much. MachineDramon's equipment grafted to Meicrackmons, they're super heavy and slow. They operate under different parameters than the ones above. Past those are the pair of mega twins. MagnaGarurumon and RustTyranomon."
There was a long pause and the mastemon rubbed her eyes with her free hand, before sighing as though she actually couldn't believe what she was reading from the code she was seeing.
"They both have self destruct parameters. If their twin or themselves get too damaged they are to self destruct. Destroying the room that they are in. I could in theory if a fight breaks out hack into each on of them separately while you deal with the other twin to remove that parameter completely. The rest of the groups down here are on and patrolling the various rooms their assigned to. They have no overlap and aren't supposed to enter rooms smaller than themselves so we have a little bit of leeway."
The elevator would ding as it arrived to the floor in question, the doors opened and the group would find themselves in what looked to be another humanlike office. However here there were actual mon's tied into the computers. Row after row of Datamon's linked into their own respective servers. None of them turned to look at the group, their eyes were distant and hazy as though they weren't even here. Chalice paled a little bit and looked about for a moment.
There were three other doors in this room. One on the right, one on the left and one straight ahead. None of them looked to be locked. Chalice would pull out the scanner and frown a bit as the signals from earlier were in different positions. No longer paired together and wandering of their own accord.
"Which way do you want to go? Should we stay together or split up?"
Chalice didn't seem too thrilled with either prospect really. Being alone in this sort of area would grate on her. While being with the others would mean she'd have to hold back whatever emotions were currently plaguing her.
"Tch... Should probably scan for the rooms while I'm at it."
Chalice would turn her device to scan the rooms, showing the group that indeed there was a large 3 x 3 grouping of rooms. With this one being the bottom middle of the nine rooms. There was a single exit point from the door two rooms 'up' from them. If they made it through there they would be hopefully home free. Beyond that was the ever present signal of vivian.
"Four mons that I can get reads of in between us and Vivian. Tch... This layout sort of has me worried too..."

"No problem, Dio." Syre would return that comment with a low tone of her own - and as Dio came in for a hug, she even managed a bit of a chuckle, as Chalice continued with her work.
Of course, the MeiCrackmon was completely under Orion's control, but the lack of consciousness gave them an advantage in all of this. It proved almost scarily easy for the Mastemon to grant them access to the next room, but with the ease came an odd sense of tensity. What would happen if they were to mess up at this stage? After all, next was the area with four Digimon.
Which was why Syre was a bit confused, when she stepped out of the elevator, into what looked like a small server room, numerous Datamon plugged up to machines. Syre bit her lip as Chalice explained the area: four guards in a nine-by-nine grid room, two in the row above them and two more in the row behind that. And the exit was in the penultimate room straight in front of them. By the way Chalice was speaking: "So the four guards will never enter into the three rooms on the bottom given the size constraints?"
Syre bit her lip. "... Once we start approaching, we can't split up. The only way we're slipping through is if we can slip right past the guards in one swoop. And if one of us gets caught alone, we'll be stuck fighting one-on-one against a mega who would explode even if we win."
A 'tsk'. "Analyze their movements, see if we can get a pattern. Carlos, Dio, Gio, we should at least check out the rooms to the left and right to see if there's anything we can use to our advantage. Sound good?"

Once again, the mei not only did nothing to try and stop the group, what with her being so much of a blank slate Chalice found little challenge in rewriting her in such a way that she would let them pass. It was...almost too easy.
"Uhm, Miss Chalice? Why didn't you ask that mei to help us out if a fight happens?" Gio asked once they were in the elevator, lightly tugging at the mastemon's coat with curiosity. Carlos was about to reprimand him for the latter, but stopped himself. That was a legitimate question, if a slightly morally dubious one. Not that poor Gio would even get the implications of doing such a thing, of course.
The more they advanced, the less it felt like they were getting lucky and more like it was all a very deliberate and carefully planned set up. It was unnerving, but they couldn't really turn back at this point, all they could do was push on and hope it wouldn't blow up on their faces.
"Do we know if those are a couple of actual MagnaGarurumon and RustTyranomon or are they more of these...Meicoo experiments?" The man asked, trying to figure out the best way to refer to the spliced up guards. Though regardless of Chalice's answer he would noticeably react with worry at the mention of the guards being rigged to self destruct as a last resort. That significantly made things worse for them.
"Let's try not to get caught then." Dio quipped going cross armed, before glancing at the Mastemon with a more serious look. "But if we do, how long do you think it will take you to "disarm" them? I doubt we can take them out in a single shot regardless but I rather we didn't have to stall either."
By the time they reached the Datamon filled office, Carlos seemed to slowly but surely starting to get used to seeing digimon in bizarre and often time unsettling situations, so there was little he could comment about the many Datamons tied to their consoles, too busy listening to Syre taking the lead of the situation. Was it odd that he felt at ease and even somewhat proud to have her be the one coming up with ideas and orders to travel through the facility?
"On it: Dio, you and Syre get the right one, Gio and I will check the left one." The man nodded, and unless Chalice objected he would be making his way for one of the rooms, the blackguilmon following behind. Even if the guards had changed patterns they should still steer clear from the rooms that were too small for them, right?
As for Dio? He rolled his eyesa bit, mostly at having Carlos try to order them around. Was he trying to save face about having someone younger than him tell the man what to do? Regardless, he turned to face his niece.
"You don't have to come along, I'm not that scared."
