Recently, old rumors and stories have resurfaced about an ancient group of Digimon said to have once rivaled the Olympus XIII and the Royal Knights in power. Many contradictory tales, and fifth-hand accounts, have been spreading among conspiracy theorists, historians with radical theories, and Digimon supposedly linked to the group.
Stories of two fierce rivals and enemies, of light and darkness, clashing so powerfully that those near the battlefield instantly become collateral damage. Of these two wiping each other out, and their power in their reincarnation greatly weakened to prevent the catastrophes and cataclysms that marked their territorial disputes or ancient grudges.
Tales of a beautiful beast, once a guardian goddess, having relinquished her heart and some of her power for wildly disputed and debated causes. Perhaps to birth new Digimon of her type or similar into the world. Maybe to stop a Digimon of unspeakable power. Maybe to grant herself a new life.
Beliefs that one of the first undead Digimon may have been an attempt to save a godly Digimon otherwise beyond repair or even the cycle of rebirth. That it may have failed, or seemed to have succeeded yet degenerated over time - or that it succeeded beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and it became the progenitor for the preserved undead.
Gossip that the Dark Area's judge may have come from a completely different Dark Area, either known as or that of a server named Duat. Or that this is the far down reincarnation of the original.
The Duat comes up often. Some say the divine Digimon of the rumors have physically changed, mutated, weakened or degenerated, but that their original spirits lie in this Duat. Perhaps an adjacent server, or a pocket dimension in the Digital World. Others suggest that this was the original home of these Digimon.
There are no easy answers, just speculation and noise. There are two possible leads, however. The aformentioned judge, Anubismon may know, if it even is the original. And somewhere, hidden in a fortress of knowledge, lies perhaps the one with all the answers. But Thothmon does not seem forthcoming. Is there anyone who could convince them to share their knowledge with the world? They have been said to have done it once before, as the record keeper. Or is this Digimon a fraud?
While there is no hard evidence, the digging for information shall not cease. The truth - whatever it may be - will someday be known. Will that mean proving some of the claims, or dispelling all of them as fiction? Only time will tell.
