A Return to Form (Siris, Mikemon, others)

The Great Moving Library. To others... it was a vast ocean of books and shelves, stocked with endless human and Digimon knowledge. Many came here to study under one's tutelage or better themselves with it's unending array of information. To Siris, it was home.
He had been gone for sometime, deciding to put his efforts for The Knights of The Rose to assisting with Digimon displaced by Luminas' collapse. The coup didn't just remove seated powers, it took homes. Destroyed lives. Siris was helping rebuilding that. He built homes. Taught in schools from what he could remember from the Library and even fought off those looking to profit from the weakened denizens of the Skies. He left everything at home, deciding after the events with Viktor and his father that it was best if he... disconnected for a while. The kind of searching to find his own way.
After what seemed like years, he had finally found the courage to return home. Back to his lovable sisters. To his stern, but caring father and his warm and loving mother. Siris was excited to see them and he was certain they were equally so. It had been sometime, and they would most likely love to see the progress he made! No doubt K was his mother as he managed to take the Ultimate form of her white Shutmon!
He took a deep sigh as he pushed the doors open, taking he form of that Shutmon and stepping to the counter. With a toothy smile, not unlike K's, he would greet a familiar Stingmon;
"Well, hello friend. You seen the regulars around? The girls and the old man cat?" Siris smiled, hoping the Stingmon might confuse him for K!
Where was she anyway? She knew he was coming!

Home.
It had been quite a while since Siris had last been here. The Renamon had been a bit of a loner from the start, so seeing him gone for months on end wasn't too out of the ordinary - and the few times he did swing around often held the tone of an overbearing older brother. Though, this would not quite be the home that Siris would expect to see: the moment he walked in, he would see a number of taped-up boxes lining the walls.
Heck, even Stingmon's desk looked a lot less crowded. Flipping through the current day's paper, the insect's attention perked up for a moment - eyes catching the Shutmon and those eager words, before he would return his attention right on down. "Well, Siris, I would hardly consider you as part of the regulars at this point - though dad is up in his office."
Huh. The bug saw right through it? Actually, Siris' introduction was so loud that it didn't take Mikemon too long to come back down the hall. He blinked, as if frozen for a moment, seeing the white Shutmon in the foyer, before narrowing his eyes.
"... Sheesh..." He shook his head. "Where the heck have you been, Siris?"

Siris was always the introverted sort. He'd prefer to be left to his book organizing or the random tests his father gave than mingle with the other guests of the Library or escort people. He preferred to meditate and sleep than hang out with his sisters. He always wondered if his family worried about that. But, despite his introvert ways, he loved helping others. Which is why he left to begin with. The Knights of the Rose was at least known to be supportive in the skies!
Shaking his head to get out of his thought train, the white-wolf Digimon smiled and walked over to his father. With a nimble shift, he leaned down to pick up his father and give him a not-too-tight hug! Sighing and chuckling a tad as he'd speak;
"Helping in the skies! Families like ours were... well you know!" he would set his father down, his tail swishing back and forth as he'd pan around, "What's uh, what's going on here?" he gestured to the boxes that stacked to the ceiling.
He wouldn't pause with his questioning, though. Channeling his inner Holley, the wolf smiled and kept that tail wagging, "How's Syre? How's Holley? How are you?" He'd lean down so his father wouldn't have to shout to cover the height distance. Wanting to know all the ins and outs since his departure!
"I got strong! Soon I'll be able to hit mega, I think!" he said happily, adjusting his blades, "Wait until mom sees. She'll be so proud!"
He looked around, turning his head, "Where... is mom? Is she out on a Knight's mission? She is the leader after all!"

Welp, that tone quickly got buried in the mud! Quickly plucked up in Siris' arms, Mikemon found himself giving a blink, lightly returning that hug as he gave Siris a pat on his back. Seriously, Luminas the entire time?
"Well, at least you've been consistent with your patrol..." He gave a cough, landing on his feet as he stretched his back out. Might as well take this one step at a time: "Ah, this? The family - and yes, you - are moving up to Snowpoint. We're finally getting out of Yukiko's and Ayumi's hair with our own space, and they already have quite a few things planned with the area. And... hm."
What was the best way to answer him? "Oh, they're fine. Holly's out with her team and Syre's out in Whitewater... and, yeah. Don't even know how you grew up so quickly." He gave a small chuckle, though it was clear the tone was dying in his throat. After all, it was all coming to it. That last question.
Mom.
"... That, um..." He bit his lip. "Why don't we come back to my office? We got a lot to talk about."

While Siris was more than ecstatic to hear that they were all moving to Whitewater, where he had babysat Syre when their mom was on the controlled by that... creature of a Wisemon. His levels of excitement throttled at hearing about his sisters and their lives! Syre was already ahead? Holly had a team?! He was seeming like the little brother in comparison to his sisters! The wolf's tail only wagged faster as he could barely contain himself!
"Well... Mom always said that I should do what I know is right. Helping those in Luminas felt right. It's what pushed me to Ultimate!"
As excited as Siris was about his sisters, the tone shift was not lost on him. The lump in his father's throat, the sudden silence around him. The wanting to leave into another room. Perhaps he was overlooking things? While the boy may have been young, but he was no fool. Almost right away he stepped back, looking around;
"Why? Is she in there? Dad?"
That sudden loss of focus reverted the wolf form to a familiar fox as the shape would dissipate in a brilliant purple cascade of digital leaves, leaving only the boy to stand before the feline parent; "Dad, you're worrying me. Where's mom?" the fox was picking up on the vibes perhaps a bit too well. He'd tilt his head and step a bit closer;
"She's alright... right?"
Siris kept a smile and his tail wagging. Surely he was just reading into things. His mom was the strongest around! Nothing happened to her! She was unstoppable! He'd take a sigh of relief as he talked himself down, then nodded to his father;
"S-sorry, I just got a little worried. Let's go to the test torture cham- er... your office!"

Honestly this move was probably for the best, this library held a lot of memories. A lot of problems, a lot of things that the meicrackmon didn't really appreciate. Things like feeling that twisting tugging sensation every time she passed by her parent's room. Every time she came down to the kitchen expecting to see that heartfelt and warm smile.
It made breakfasts cold, it made the living space quiet. It was a harsh way to live. So of course she went out more often, of course she did more things out and about. But there were times where she just couldn't avoid coming home. Like now of all times.
Holly pushed open the door to the library and was greeted with a myriad of new, old and confusing scents. The meicrackmon brought a hand to her face and sneezed as she recognized the cold heights of luminas, some of the warmer places and the touch of combat. The burning sweat of ones nature bleeding into everything for a short time.
She was gifted for a short moment of what seemed to be someone rather similar to her mother. White fur, no red cloak and a demeanor that... well reminded her of her wayward brother. Her silence was palatable and she'd stare forward watching with obvious curiosity and interest before the other reverted to that familiar but odd golden color. This indeed was her brother, her eldest brother that had been away for quite some time. She'd grit her teeth a bit and close the door behind her.
"I'm back. The... mission went well."
Holly didn't really know what else to say in that regard, in fact it'd be best if she didn't tell her father and let him sort of learn on his own. She didn't know if it actually went well considering how barely they avoided disaster.
"I see that Siris is back. A little... later than I anticipated. But good to see you!"
Holly stepped forward and regardless of her brother's want or not, the meicrackmon would pick him up in a back breaking hug. She hadn't seen him for quite some time and it was plain on her face that she had missed him!

Yup - Siris detected the tone at a moment's notice.
He was smart and well-practiced - honestly, most of the Renamon's shortcomings simply came down to his upbringing as a feral Digimon. In fact, he was more in tune with his emotions than most, able to read Mikemon like a book, and the doctor knew it. He bit his lip, unsure of how to respond, even as that smile came back to him. But before he could take hold of the conversation?
Well. Holly came in, back from her mission. He'd heard about it on his D-Terminal, giving a nod and a wave as the MeiCrackmon stepped on in. "I heard. Take it easy, alright? You might not feel it now but you need to rest after that big of a fight." He gave a smile, even a chuckle as Siris was plucked up into that hug - before he gave a sigh. "Actually, would you mind coming along with your brother and me? We, um, need to get him caught up to speed."
His tone was more casual than before, and he'd lead onto his office - though rather than sit at his desk, he would instead pull up a chair and sit across from the two of them. Sheesh... what was the best way to break this to Siris?
"... Sorry if I was short wondering where you were. Of course I knew you were busy in Luminas, and they have all those restrictions on patrol and the like, especially after the forest incident. And though there's no good way to break it to you... well, Siris, K's gone."
He paused. "She became ill after loading a terrible Digimon's data - and fell a week later. Her efforts saved countless lives and removed a terrible monster from the world. I'm... I'm sorry."

Siris laughed, hugging tight to his sister as she squeezed him with fervor only a sibling could muster. With them following into Mikemon's office, the young fox would guide his sister by the hand, still smiling. He'd sit down in that familiar chair and expect his father to administer some sort of test. Or a book for him to read or... well anything when he was living here. But those words. Those terrible words.
K's Gone
The world came to a stop for the fox. His mind was unwilling to accept what he heard but... he processed it and sat in the chair across from his father. His ears splaying to his skull; "Oh..." he said realizing the weight of those awful words. Tears formed in the bottom of his eyes as he wiped and blinked them away, hiding his anguish with a smile as he looked to his father.
"I uhm..." he swallowed and sighed, "I think I need to go." he gave a hollow chuckle, still reeling from this news but trying his best to not let it show. He'd keep fighting those tears with a fake smile as he stood up, and looked to his dad, "I-I'm glad I got to catch up."
The Renamon would turn and start for the door, knowing he couldn't hold back those emotions much longer. He was the big brother... he needed to be strong. He had to be. For Syre. For Holley. For dad. For...
The image of her flashed in his mind, he recalled the last time they spoke and the words he held onto everyday since he was assisting in Luminas. He had so much he wanted to tell her, so much to show her! But now, there was nothing. There was only a void where she was in his heart. An empty feeling he couldn't express to anyone but himself. For the sake of his family, he had to suffer alone.
They mourned once. No need to do it again.

Holly closed her eyes and let out a small sigh. Honestly what was she supposed to say about that. She'd slowly nod her head as her da told her that she probably should rest. She'd blink slowly however when... wait up to speed? Wait that meant he didn't... Holly's face fell a bit and she'd regain her composure almost immediately. She didn't want to have to break the news to her brother and that small squeeze that followed before she set her brother down, managing a small smile.
"Yeah I'll... catch some rest after this."
Holly followed after her da and brother, her expression souring a bit as mikemon explained what had happened in the shortest way possible. The easiest way possible. Holly bit her lip a little bit and well... Siris seemed to go towards the door. With a small tch the meicrackmon would step forward and even if he was unwilling she'd scoop the renamon up in a big bear hug.
"Nuh-uh. You're staying around here bro! We're family and family needs to stick together in times like this!"
Holly would huff in irritation, she didn't care if she had to mourn a second time. She'd mourn her mother as much as she wanted! She had clones to help her mourn, her da, her sister, her jade and now she had her brother here that needed help now!

"Siris..."
Mikemon looked on at the Renamon's initial reaction. He could tell that it shook him right to the core - all the emotion seemed to just fall out of his voice, and despite his tears, the doctor's son tried to keep a strong face. To not cry in front of him or show his emotions. As he made an excuse to leave... well, the doctor didn't even get a chance to stop him.
Holly did it first, in the best and only way she knew how. Mikemon looked on and gave a nod. "Your little sister is right, Siris. At the very least, we want you around the Library for a bit. I... I know this is a lot to take in at once. Hell, you took after her a lot more than you took after me."
To that, though, he gave a smile. "And I know she was tough on you at times, but wow, she was proud of you, our diamond in the rough. So, Siris... I'm here. Holly's here. Syre - well, when she's back from her mission in a day or so, she'll be here too - and we're all here to talk and help each-other through this. For now..."
The cat bit his lip.
"You can let it all out."

He tried to fight his emotions. He tried to push back those tears, he tried to keep his strength. But... how could he? His mother, the fox that he aspired to be was gone. Nothing. She no longer existed. Siris looked to his sister and then his father, both urging him to let out those emotions that wanted so desperatly to escape. That weakness to show he truly missed his mother.
Holly managed to scoop him up in a bear hug, but as his father spoke and explained more; He'd vanish as simply as that. Using Holly's shadow, he'd escape the room and go to his old bedroom. He'd mean to approach to gather things and leave but... the memories stopped him dead in his tracks. The smell of that wood varnish took him back to his mother sitting next to his bed and explaining why. Now, more than ever, he wanted an answer to that question.
Why?
Why did she have to take that Wisemon's data? Why did she have to go? Why did she leave him?
"Why...? Mom... why? What did I do to make you leave?"
He wiped the tears forming at the base of his eyes; "Please come back. I'll do anything! I'll be a better knight! A better son!" he'd drop to his knees, finally breaking down and sobbing. The thoughts of what he missed. What he wanted to tell her and all the things he wanted to show her.
"Please..." he said, curling up on the floor just before his bed, "Please..." he continued, his throat becoming raw from the emotion as his sobbing became more apparent, slamming his fist on the ground as he stayed in his fetal position, trying to fight back as best he could. When Holly and Mikemon would find him, he'd look over and cover his head;
"I-I'm sorry... I'm sorry... please forgive me. I-I was only doing what I thought was right. What mom w-wanted!"
Finally, the weight of everything brought his facade down and he was left as just a sobbing mess of fur and tears.

Holly puffed up her chest as mikemon noted that her brother was having a rough time of it dealing with this news. It was devastating to this family and while the meicrackmon had managed to work through her grief with the help of her da... Well. Siris hadn't even gotten the chance to cushion the blow.
Holly blinked however when siris practically vanished from her grip and with a soft tutt she'd turn her head. She knew where he was going, it wasn't that easy to get away from her but... She'd step lightly to find her brother shaking her head slightly.
"And that's perfectly fine bro, you haven't done anything wrong. It's just... a really shoddy situation that we have to deal with. It wasn't your fault that ma had a uh... What would you call this? Rivalry? Enemy? Enemy. yeah. Enemy. An enemy like that, nor your fault that she loaded him. She might be gone, but she won't be gone forever you know?"
The meicrackmon knelled to try to scoop her brother into a hug again. Grumbling a little bit as she tried to coax him into returning it. She knew that it hurt, she knew that he looked up to her and that he would do anything to get her back, just like she had.
"But she wouldn't want you to blame yourself for her choices. Or what happened. But she'd try to spin a lesson out of it..."
The meicrackmon chuckled lightly and shook her head, everything had been a learning experience with her ma. Everything could be turned into learning something none of them had even considered. That's just how the renamon had been...

It was hard.
It was hard to see, it was hard to listen to. Siris, the sensitive boy he was, wore on his sleeve the feelings that Mikemon held in the pit of his heart - and he knew that he wasn't going to be able to get through to him. Not now, anyway, and if he needed to run off and cry, dad wasn't going to stop him. Heck, the fox even managed to worm his way out of Holly's grip to do just that!
As Holly would follow, the doctor would call out: "Holly. Talk to him if you want, but I want you to make sure that he doesn't try and get out of the Library for a while. Just... spend time with him for now, alright?"
It might have been an unfair thing to ask, but really, Mikemon didn't know how to handle this himself. He just wanted his son to be safe.

The world grew cold to the Fox. Despite being locked in his little sister's warm, fuzzy grip. He was detached. He cried, and cried, and cried until Holly's shoulder was likely soaked in his tears. He didn't speak, didn't bargain, or beg. He simply... cried. That was all he could do. This was unfair and there was nothing in his control. So he did the one thing that was in his control.
He let it out.
He couldn't hide face, or pretend like everything was alright. He just... needed to be held and told everything was going to be alright. Like K used to do. When everything was so much more simple. He'd hug into his sister until, eventually, the crying stopped and he was gently sleeping where she held them. A mask broken, it became clear that everyone hurts. Even those who pretended to hide for the sake of others.
Siris stood solemn in his own mind; a single blip in the sea of darkness that surrounded his very being. He stepped forward, the darkness rippling and contorting to form a reflection. His reflection. He looked down, blinking and and examining himself. Upon closer inspection, he found it wasn't him. It was that other Renamon! Viktor! He gave that usual grimace and clenched his fists, a clear sign he was a threat. But his next action was confusing; he extended his hand out of the water. Siris hesitated at first, but he eventually wrapped his hand around the others and with a quick jerk, Viktor pulled him into the water! The sudden sensation of falling overwhelmed the young fox as he began to scream and reached out, calling for his mother. Something that would translate into reality.
As Siris fell to an approaching ground, that same skull faced fox appeared, opening his mouth to the point it unhinged his jaw and revealed a red glow that screamed. But as he squinted and expected to be devoured. That fate never came He was floating just meters from the creature. Siris glanced up to see his Mother holding him, smiling and banishing the beast. She'd pet his head and pull him into his chest, and that warm feeling returned once more. She'd look down and set him down, then begin to drift away.
"Don't go... please! Don't go!" he gave chase, almost stumbling over himself as he reached for her. He pleaded, "M-mom! Please!"
And as he started... he stood alone in the darkness of his own mind. The sounds of only rumbling water as this time there was no ripples... only massive waves of those skull-faced creatures! He turned tail and ran, but to no avail. The wave consumed him.
He awoke with a gasp, panting and holding himself with a sigh. He was deposited in his bed, and looked around for his sister. He just... needed to be held. That was all there was to it.
