Jurassic Panic (Rank A Mission)

All the cards were on the table now. They knew why this Digital Shift was there, and how it worked. If it was controlled by a single Digimon, using the other Digimon in this place to help power it, they had to find it to stop the shift. And likely it wasn't going to be a simple chat.
At the warning of the company, Adrian and his Tylomon were quick to act and sealed the door with ice. That was a smart move to buy them time. It certainly was better than panicking, despite the worry Adrian had. Zachary was more or less bit more on Adrian's trail of logic. They would need to act but think decisively. To not do so would waste precious time. John, of course, was able to try and calm them down.
"The trouble is we have no idea where he is, so that is the bigger problem to." Zachary added.
Their voices, however, were not unheard this time as suddenly a jolt came at the frozen-over door. It banged with the demand to enter and growls on the other side. Bahgeeramon growled angrily, sparks of electricity coming off his body as he saw it move.
"You must hurry! Leave now before they find you! GO!" The whale boomed, his voice now commanding by his echo in the room.
With a grunt of dismay, Zachary agreed. "Let's go. If they didn't bother with Whamon before, they likely wouldn't now. Come on!" Zachary agreed for them to get out of the door.
As Zachary and Panthermon rushed down the stairs to the bottom floor and the door on the other side of the room-- something pierced through the door and the ice. Something that looked like a massive butcher's knife. Adrian would be able to recognize it as none other than Dinohumon's sword. That Dinosaur warrior sure was persistent.
They would have to hurry to escape. Zachary had threw open the doors, and it opened to an odd service hallway, used to move goods and exhibits around on that floor. The way was clear. "Come on, hurry!" Zachary urged.

Briefly slipping back into old habits, Adrian was close to having a mental breakdown of what exactly was going on around him. He hadn't felt this scared ever since the robbery eleven years ago. Thankfully John and Casimeir had the righest minds of anyone there, and they managed to calm Adrian and Zachary down enough for them to at least be able to think.
Adrian took a deep breath. "Thanks... you're right, we need to get moving now." Zachary then made a good point: none of them knew where this leader Digimon was. "Maybe it's marked specially on the map...?"
The door suddenly jolted before the group could think about it too long. They were wasting time just standing there, and if they didn't run they were gonna be caught. Even Whamon was commanding the others to get the hell out of there. "We'll think of a plan somewhere safe! Let's move!"
Adrian and Shoutmon followed Zachary and Bagheeramon to the other side of the room. As they did, Adrian heard something cut through the door. He turned around to see a certain sword cutting right through. He recognized that door as the first Digimon they fought in this Digital Shift... Dinohumon.
"Shit he really did follow us," Adrian said. "Zachary, Dinohumon's back! He's following us!"
"Oh come on, doesn't he have anything better to do?!!?"
"Apparently not. We just gotta keep moving!"

That Dinohumon was going to be a major problem. "Persistent, isn't he?" John quipped, running along the halls and corridors with his new companions.
Soon enough, Zachary located a service entrance. "Oh, perfect! It's like a Jeffries Tube!" John was ecstatic.
He knew he would get some odd gazes for the comment, but he didn't care. "Quick, everyone, let's get inside! He shouldn't be able to know that we're in here!"
And so the group kept on the move. They had to stay ahead of the Dinohumon. But, they would be willing to fight if they were forced to do so.

Despite the pounding and the sword trying to cut through the iced-over door, John, Adrian and Zachary were able to leave through the down-stairs door. As they would reach the exit, the iced door came down with a bang. Dinohumon emerged with his massive sword in hand, accompanied by two other Guilmon. "Grrrr! Where are those intruders!?" he roared, but his eyes went wide as he soon faced the giant Whamon.
"TIDAL WAAAAVEE!!" WHamon bellowed. As if defying physics, water moisture emerged from behind Whamon and arched over him. Dinohumon and the other digimon looked in stupid surprise as the wave came crashing down.
"Awww... Shoutmons!" Dinohumon growled. The dinosaurs gave gargled roars as the raging waters swept them up and shoved them back down the same hallway they came like if it was rapids of a river. Needless to say, they wouldn't be coming back that way again...
... Zachary slammed the door behind him, giving a silent thank you to Whamon for letting them escape and glad they could help Whamon.
"Well, that buys us some time," Zachary said, but as he did, he looked at his digivice, seeing the count-down still ticking. The millisecond count made it seem even more stressful. "Though, not by much... We need to figure out where the boss is? There has to be a way to find him. If what Whamon said is true, then it's unlikely he is just running around the museum. Making this place must be extremely taxing on him to be able to fight at full strength, let alone running around like those other Digimon." Zachary hypothesized.
Bagheeramon, growled as he scouted the hallway. Luckily, there were no dinosaurs or any hostile Digimon anywhere in sight. The hallway led to a large freight elevator at the end, and other utility passageways.
The tiger Digimon rejoined them. "Let us not forget. THe Data from your world, this museum, and the Digital World are overlapping. That might be a clue," Bahgeeramon suggested.
Zachary tried to think, his hand on his chin. It would be a simple deduction, but one he was trying to think under the pressure of all that was going on.
Where would they likely find the leader of the Dinosaur Digimon controlling the Digital Shift?

Adrian and Shoutmon watched the situation with Whamon and the enemies play out from their hiding spot. The looks on those dinos' faces when they saw Whamon and watching them be pushed right out the door they had come from was absolutely priceless. Adrian was trying to not laugh like a maniac while Shoutmon laughed even more than a maniac.
"Oh geez, I am DEFINITELY not gonna let him live that one down if we see him again," Shoutmon said in between laughs.
"Considering he followed us this far, that's a pretty big possibility," Adrian added, also giving Whamon a silent thank you for the assistance.
As the group walked, they had to think of a plan. Obviously the leader of the Digital Shift wouldn't simply be walking around like the other Digimon they encountered. The boss would most likely be in one central area. "Wherever this boss is, if they were smart they'd be in a place where they could see what's going on, easily check in on their goons."
Adrian thought about it for a bit. "Is it possible that they could be in the security room? It makes sense if they wanted to watch everything go down."
"That does make sense, doesn't it? Or is it... too obvious?"
"Look, I'm trying here, Shoutmon. What do the rest of you think?"

"The security room sounds too obvious," Casimeir interjected. "But I can definitely say that they'll have the strongest signal. Or, maybe, there will be a high concentration of signals where they are. I'm thinking that they'll need to be in a location where they can produce a strong signal to continue pumping power into the Digital Shift. If it's supposed to be a bridge..."
John uncrossed his arms. He was starting to catch on to what Casimeir was saying. "Then maybe he needs to be at a central point where this world and the Digital World will link!"
John started pacing back and forth. He was brainstorming, alright. "Maybe they're located somewhere where a point between worlds is weakest. Like, a crack in a wall. So if we scan for a portal for the Digital World, while also scanning for really strong signals...We just might find the boss!" John asserted this point by bringing a fist down into his palm.
The Agumon proudly grinned at his partner. "Hey, that makes a lot of sense! What do you guys think?"

Both Adrian and John had interesting options where they could look. Zachary was feeling a bit pressured as his Digivice clock kept counting down. He tried to ignore it, but now he had to look-- with the proposition of following a digital signal that was big enough to stand out as the target.
"Give the Digivice a look," Bahgeeramon suggested, "Might as well check to see if it can detect it."
Zachary whipped out his D-Power, and the holographic screen appeared. However-- the radar lit up like christmas. Several smaller dots and big dots ran across the radar, likely covering multiple floors. There were dozens of digimon signals, and no clear indication as many of them were clumped together.
"Well that isn't working... Unless you want to clear out every hostile Digimon on the radar," Zachary said as he looked at his radar. "There must be fifty Digimon wandering around, including the hostile dinosaurs..."
Bearmon sighed as he heard the news. "Oh, this is beary, beary, baaaad..." he said, worried. "It's not like I can sniff him out."
The other given option was the security room. However, with luck, the utility hall that they were in would lead to the security hall at the end of the hallway. It wouldn't take much time to check.
"I don't know... but we could check the security room. If nothing else, if it is working, it could give us a clue..."
OOC Note: Will you choose to go to the security room, or think of another solution? Events will unfold on your decision.

John scratched the side of his head in disappointment. His lips pursed to the side to accent his temporary mood. "Man. I thought that would work. This whole museum is lit up like a Yuletide tree."
Casimeir's claws dragged along his chin. Pondering what their next move should be. "Hum. Fifty enemies would take a very long time to track down and take out. We're on a time crunch. Less than an hour...I say we go to the Security Room like Zack suggested."
John did feel a little better thanks to Casimeir's input. "Yeah. Even if the boss isn't there, we'll still have a better chance of tracking down their location. Wherever they are. So. Are we all in agreement?"

It was decided-- they would check the Security Room. A sigh escaped Zachary as he had a bad feeling to go in that direction, but with it so close, there was really no other harm to be seen. "Alright... but let's keep it quick. We can't afford to waste time blindly," Zachary said.
They would follow the hall-- Bahgeeramon being the fastest was able to quickly move ahead and scout the hall. Luckily there were no enemies... and made it quick to the Security Room door.
As they would open the door-- they were greeted by a series of monitors, computers and control board with different buttons. It clearly was the security room of the museum, with cameras running and showing images of the digital building. Some screens showed live feeds, others were full of static-- but the room was otherwise empty. No digimon, no people they could see.
Bearmon and the others looked around, but nothing clear showed any sign of them. "Great... another dead end," Zachary said as they looked around.
On the screens, they could see floors and directional wing numbers. There were many things-- they could see the room Whamon was, hanging in the aquatic room. ANother room showed a giant Kuwagamon, among a bug display-- definitely not wanting to go there--, another monitor that showed a bunch of dancing Floramon in the garden area, and of course-- several monitors that showed Dinosaurs running around, them being mostly shown to be on the fourth floor where there were other dinosaurs and fossil bones on display.
A frustrated growl came from Bahgeeramon. "What now? Zachary, surely you can figure it out. Where would we likely find the one controlling the others from? "
"I know, I know... give me a minute," Zachary grumbled, as he looked at the monitors, figuring there was a clue there. While he didn't see any dinosaurs that stuck out as a 'leader' there was something how there were so many in one spot...
... "Ooooh-- buttons!" Bearmon said with glee. The little bear began to approach the console and started to push buttons. The mischievous, oblivious little bear didn't know what he was doing-- till he accidentally hit a button labeled "Intercom".
An audio tone went out onto the loud-speaker, reaching every single room and hallway in the digital museum. Some Digimon reacted poorly to the screech, some paid it no mind, others listened intently as the sound went out-- especially Dinohumon and his cronies. "Helllooooooo? Hellooo! Anyone there! I'd like some honey deliv--"
Click!
Zachary quickly snapped the Intercom button off from Bearmon as he spoke. An irritated look was on his face. "BEARMON!!" Zachary scolded, realizing that was the last thing he should be doing.
"Gah-- sorry!" The bear growled.
Bahgeeramon too growled in frustration. "That dumb bear might have given away our position if we stay here too long. Last chance for ideas. Where now?" the tiger growled.
Zachary tried to think, and might of came up with something.
OOC: You find nothing in the security room, the monitors showing different environmental exhibits and the Digimon that inhabited them. Bearmon accidentally triggers the intercom, meaning someone smart enough might realize where they are. Zachary might figure out where to go, but last guesses can help. Be mindful of the monitors for ideas.

After the horrors of seeing the Digivice map being lit up like a house during Christmastime, the group would then make their way to the security room. Thankfully there were no enemies on the way, and even if there were Bagheeramon was scouting ahead and would've warned the others.
Opening the door revealed one of the walls to be covered in monitor screens, as you'd expect a security room to look like. Other than that, there were no other living creatures in this room besides themselves. It technically was a dead end, but at least there were security monitors so they could at least get a good idea of what was going on elsewhere.
Some of the places involved a Kuwagamon in a bug exhibit, which was definitely not a place that Adrian wanted to go to; a place where a bunch of Floramon were dancing (Shoutmon had to look away due to his complicated past with a Floramon); and many screens with dinosaur Digimon walking around, way more than any of the other types of Digimon.
"So wild guess; our 'shift leader' seems to definitely be a dino-jerk. Just look at how many there are!"
"Yeah, but which one's the leader?"
Before more questions or answers could be said, Bearmon went into "ooh buttons" mode. Adrian and Shoutmon frantically tried and failed to stop Bearmon from doing it, before he pressed the intercom button and sent a loud screech to the whole shift. What's worse is that Bearmon started TALKING into it! After Zachary shut it off, Adrian and Shoutmon both glared at the Bearmon.
"You are going to get us all KILLED if you keep doing that, Bearmon! Don't touch anything else!"
"Shit, Dinohumon's coming our way," Adrian said as he watched the screen Dinohumon and his goons were on. "This is gonna sound crazy, but I'm thinking the leader's either in the dinosaur exhibit, or it's that giant Kuwagamon."
"None of those sound like good ideas at all."
"Zachary, John, what do you guys think? As quickly as you can please...!"

John and Casimeir looked into each other's eyes. There were many screens that provided clues and hints to discern where to go from here. Other screens remained static-y. So there was no feed connected to said screens. The team needed to decide where to go once again. They were going to give feedback until the Bearmon haphazardly started to make a delivery request.
They saw no reason to further scold Bearmon when the others had already given their piece. Yeah, it was stupid. But John and Casimeir tried not to hold it too much against the ursid Digimon. And now with the Dinohumon barreling down on them, yet again, they had to come up with a new course of action.
Another quick glance was given over the screens. "Okay...We figured before that to have so much power to create this Digital Shift, the boss is likely a Champion and needs a high concentration of Digimon to create this amount of power. We're in agreement that the boss is a dinosaur. So...We're going to go to the fourth floor with the fossil display." John said this as he pointed to the monitors of the aforementioned floor.
Casimeir hummed in agreement. "I think John's right. It makes sense...We've come across Dinosaur Digimon for the most part. Except for the Whamon and Musyamon. The Fossil Floor has to be where the boss is...I just know it!"

After Bearmon's mishap, Zachary struggled to think. The answer was under their nose somehow... but then it was made clear with the help of Adrian and John. He snapped his fingers in realization and smiled. "That's it... THat has to be it!" he exclaimed.
Bearmon jumped with paws up. "What? What? " the bear asked.
Casimeir was the one to make it accurate enough, so Zachary added it. "It's more than that. Every single Digimon we seen were originally found in the exhibit that related to it. So if a Dinosaur Digimon is controlling the others and holding this place together, where would it be? The Dinosaur Exhibit. Let's go!"
Zachary took to the door, leaving Bagheeramon a bit confused but swiftly followed. "Wh-wait for us!" the tiger growled, and Bearmon and the rest would follow.
The run back to the hallway was still a pain but they would reach the elevator bank stationed at the end of the hall. With luck, there wouldn't be any problem to use it, even in the Digital Shift. If the monitors and electricity in the Digital Museum was working, the elevator would to to an extent.
As he reached the elevator, he pressed the button and it lit up. After a few minutes, the 'ding' of the door sounded and slid open, revealing the rather wide freight elevator that was used to carry people and big parts of exhibits or other tools needed for the museum. "Safe to say it works. Come on," Zachary said as he stepped into the elevator and encouraged the others to do the same. It be safer than taking the stairs not knowing what was out there.
When everyone got into the elevator, they would be ready to go-- however, the sound of footsteps echoed and from the far corner of a hall appeared a familiar face.
"AHA!" Dinohumon roared , trialed by the same set of Digimon from before. They had reached the control room a minute before Zachary and his friends left-- and now had tracked them there. "There you are, you pests! Prepare to kiss my AXE!!"
Zachary gasped as he saw the dinosaur man charge down the hall towards them. "Oh for the love of--!" he swore and began to press the close button rapidly fast. But the doors were big and heavy, making it slow! They had to do something to stop the dinosaurs from reaching them before it could close!
Notes: Good news! You found the general area where the Boss is-- the Bad news, the trip to the Security Room and a 'beary' bad case of luck, caused Dinohumon and co. to catch up. As you board the elevator, he is coming towards you. Use methods to try and trip him and his friends up so you can escape.

It was decided: if the boss Digimon was indeed a dinosaur Digimon, then where else would it be than the fossil exhibit? Zachary seemed to figure it out first and immediately ran out of the room without everyone else. Adrian and Shoutmon looked at each other and nodded before running to follow Zachary.
"We'll need to Digivolve once we get there," Shoutmon said as they ran.
"Shoutmon's right, there are more Digimon there than anywhere else in the museum, and we're not exactly the best at stealth. We'll have to use brute force to get through."
The group ran up to the a freight elevator, Zachary pressed the button, and they waited... and waited... and waited... and waited... Shoutmon was getting pretty impatient. "Ughhh, if this elevator doesn't come soon I'm gonna bust the door open!"
Right as he said that, the doors opened. "Well, uh... that worked out pretty well!"
"For once, complaining actually DOES get you somewhere I guess."
Adrian and Shoutmon got into the elevator with the others, but then they heard footsteps that made the both of them tense up. Their fears were confirmed when DinoHumon and his lackeys showed up. The doors were closing, but DinoHumon was faster than them, and it looked like he would be entering the elevator with them!
Suddenly Adrian had an idea. He pulled out a certain card from his card holder. "Why don't we calm him down a bit? DIGI-MODIFY! TRANQUILITY ACTIVATE!" When Adrian slashes the card, DinoHumon would suddenly feel very, very calm, and will immediately just lose the fighting spirit. Adrian uses the "Tranquility" card on DinoHumon.
VB-21 Card Name: Tranquility Type: Modify Rank: Bronze Duration: 3 Posts Effect: The target Digimon achieves a state of inner calm. Their defense increases, but they lose the urge to keep fighting.

Now the group was finally on the right track. They knew where to go, and still had plenty of time to find the source of the Digital Shift and put things right. All they had to do was beat any challenge that was thrown in their way.
John and Casimeir waited almost anxiously for the elevator door to open. Why was it when you needed an elevator, they always seemed to take their time? John kept looking over his shoulder, then back to the doors. Finally, some progress was achieved when they began to open.
Now that they were inside and ready to head to the desired floor, a particularly unavoidable Digimon once again tracked them down. John and the others needed a plan. Casimeir was about to prepare a Pepper Breath, but John put a hand down to interrupt him when Adrian produced a card. This was maybe the second time he had seen these cards. He never saw a need to buy packs for himself, since he and his partner just needed to rely on their personal skills.
The two waited with almost-crippling anticipation to see if Adrian's plan would work.

Zachary was worried as they charged, but Adrian was the one to act as he took out a Digimon Card, similar to the ones Zachary used and used one. He thought it would be an attack-- but it was something else. A boost card that went TO Dinohumon. Zachary knew he could transfer the data of cards to allies, but not enemies too?! And what it was was very odd. At that moment, Dinohumon stopped running and paused, his expression shocked for a moment. " Wh-what is happening... This is..." He gasped, as if something came over him... then, " Ah... what a wonderful world," he went, as if to praise a higher power in prayer, his eyes sparkly and strange. Zachary felt the urge to fall over at the sight. " Eh, what the ****..." " The world is overflowing with love and beauty!" he ranted, dropping his sword. Amused, Bearmon clapped his paws together as well. " Ooooh, let's do that too and maybe we can stop fighting!" he said and acted in prayer like Dinohumon was. That plan, however, ended fast. The little dinosaurs had no notion to share in their leader's state and charged ahead regardless. The two Guilmon charged to reach them. Luckily, Bagheeramon was quick to act as he growled and looked through the closing doors. " OVERLOAD!!" He roared, causing bolts of electricity to run off his armor and shoot forward at both of them. The dinosaurs shrieked as they were struck by the powerful lightning attack-- the additional charge also fueling the electricity running the elevator. The blast repelled the Guilmon and helped close the doors. The elevator gave a ding as it closed fully, and began to move upward. With the danger over for the moment, Bahgeeramon looked towards Adrian. " What sort of psychological warfare card was THAT?" the tiger growled. Zachary just sighed and allowed himself to sit on the floor of the elevator for a moment. " That was close..." Zachary said as he looked up. The elevator was running just fine as it began to climb. He had hit the forth floor, but soon there was a ding on the third... A quick press of the button would fix that... (Check 0:50 seconds in for the bit Sorry, couldn't help myself. ) Zachary rose up as the doors opened-- and his eyes widened. The area in front of the third floor was not empty as they were in an area with several Guilmon-- but most of them were tearing apart some food carts that were left there. Only after the 'ding' of the elevator like a microwave, did the red dinosaurs turn to see the group and just stared at them blankly with no clue why they were in there... " Uuum, wrong floor," Zachary replied and rapidly hit the 'close' button. The door immediately closed only half-way through its open and proceeded upward. Between the close calls and surprises they endured, Zachary was on pins and needles as the elevator finally reached the 4th floor-- where the Dinosaur Exhibit would be. The door opened... and luckily there was no one there to greet them. The hall was empty and the coast clear as they arrived in the main hallway of the fourth floor. Cautiously, Zachary looked around before he stepped out, and not a single enemy was around. " It's clear," he said, as Bahgeeramon and Bearmon stepped out of the elevator. Luckily, their direction was clear now. Signs showed on the walls pointed right to the Dinosaur exhibit, meaning the end was almost in sight... or so they would guess. " Don't let your guard down. We have no enemies now, but I bet that will change fast." Zachary took the lead to bring them closer to the Dinosaur exhibit. He could see the hall where it would be, in a doorless, open archway-- with a loud commotion of growls and grunts coming. As Zachary came to a stop, he peeked over the corner... and immediately hid behind the wall as he looked to the others. " Guys... trouble," Zachary whispered. When they would look past the corner-- they could see them. Several other dinosaur rookies. Guilmon, BlackAgumon, and even others. There must have been over a dozen of them in the hall with the fossils and models of large dinosaur skeletons in the hallway. But the most glaring detail in the room... was the giant blue dinosaur in the room, looming over the rest! In the Dinosaur Hall, the big guy was a giant blue-scaled Digimon dinosaur. He looked similar to a Greymon or another T-Rex type Digimon, but with red stripes, a head of hair on his head and back, and tribal accessories on his chest and little claws. He looked just as fierce as Steggomon was, and probably just as nasty a temper as Dinohumon had. He would growl and yell at the other digimon, keeping them in line. Zachary kept his back to the wall as he checked his Digivice. He saw the read out appear, as Bahgeeramon glanced around the corner. " He's called Allomon. Champion level, Data Type. Lovely... His attack is a flaming breath called 'Dino Burst' fiery and explosive, like its temper. Brutal and dangerous." He changed the D-Power's screen to its radar, showing all the dots in the immediate area. Both large and small clusters were in that room-- meaning it was reading up all of them. " There is too many for us to charge through, let alone with the big one..." Zachary said quietly, " If only we could draw them away, and I don't think to bait them like before is gonna work." Bearmon kept his paws over his mouth, realizing the need to keep quiet, but Bagheeramon was ready. " I could try to lure them away. Use my speed to have them chase me." the cat offered. " Too dangerous," Zachary stated bluntly, Even you couldn't hold off that many enemies, even if they were rookies. If only we could trick them to go anywhere but here, even to another floor..." Zachary wondered. Notes: You have escaped Dinohumon and Co. After some elevator shenanigans, you reached the fourth floor and the Dinosaur exhibit, but it is met with an overwhelming number of rookie dinosaurs and one large enemy in the room. Attacking head on, while possible would be laborious, dangerous and risky. However, you might be able to dupe them if you use your Digimon right... Time Remaining: 40:42:11
