Holly was glad that her little trick gave her some time, she'd need to be quick in here if she was to make any proper headway without it being an issue. Though hearing the machinery grate cause the meicrackmon to grit her teeth. With the vent slamming down behind her the meicrackmon sighed. This was going to be difficult wasn't it? The meicrackmon's hands shifted and she'd close her eyes.
Is this a life or death choice? Is this something that could hurt me beyond what I am? I don't know. But...
Holly's gut feeling went for the lefthand lever, there wasn't really any thought behind it. Sometimes you just needed to go with what you felt was right. The meicrackmon pulled the lever, hoping faintly that it would lead her forward.
Holly's first clone sat at the edge of the hot spring, frowning a bit as she had gone over the cavern a bit. She was about to turn about when she found that there was... Well that the spring itself was deeper than she anticipated. Holly didn't have a diving kit and even if she did this didn't extend to her clones. Did the clones still need to breath? She was pretty sure they didn't. The clone gritted her teeth, she knew how to swim, had lungs with a decent capacity... As long as she was careful the depths shouldn't claim her. After drawing in a long breath the clone jumped in. Did she even need the breath? She didn't know and would slowly push down towards the spring's bottom... Unsure of what she may find.
The second clone blinked owlishly as she was greeted with her own visage. Iced over twists and turns made this natural formation more like a hall of mirrors. She'd pause at the mephistomon image, looking herself up and down. She had never seen one before and the clone would touch the surface of the mirror. Unsure of what powers made this sort of thing be.
"...A beast type digimon of darkness I think. Maybe we have something like that deep inside too?"
Holly mulled and as she continued through, using her natural balance, tendrils and tail well... She'd come to that marble door. She'd look it up and down and frown. She wasn't able to really damage things like this. She'd push and pull at the door, trying to understand which way it would move, inspecting it and eventually? Well she'd knock!
The third holly clone blinked slowly as the pale white eye glared at her. She'd hold up her hands as a sort of 'woah there' gesture before speaking softly. She didn't want to cause trouble for someone not belphemon!
"Ah! Sorry! I'm looking for Lord Belphemon. Unfortunately I've never gotten permission to directly come inside but it's urgent! Do you know where he is? This place is massive and I'm sorta lost..."
Would her lie work? Was this Belphemon just in disguise? If this mon didn't know or wasn't even aware of who was around or wasn't related she might of just ended up taking a really nasty turn in this situation.
The final holly didn't care if it felt like the world was walking, she'd slowly close her senses off one by one. Still walking forward, not caring. Not really even pushing herself, slowly she'd come to a crawl and then stop. Furthermore the meicrackmon stretched, finding that the effort was going to prove too much for this clone for the moment and take a seat. She wanted to rest for a little bit...
This hallway was far too long for it's own good!

The trio's walk through the lava filled corridor was being rather smooth, more so than expected at least. Of course it was to be expected that such ease was not going to last, as it was soon proven by a rather large head emerging from beneath the lava in front of them. The mere appearance of the beast's skull from within the lava whirpool was enough to startle and freeze in place the two megas, but it was only after they almost lost their footing because of it's massive roar that they began having doubts about taking this path.
While it was thankfully not immediatelly hostile, the digimon didn't seem too happy about having three intruders in it's territory, or at least that's what Carlos assumed. Whatever the case, they really couldn't afford to get into a fight in here. Time was of the essence, and tiring themselves before facing their actual target would only get them killed. That and fighting above a lava river while balancing a very flammable human was not the best tactical choice either.
As such, the twins would slowly and very gently try to move around the large dragon, being on guard and never turning their backs on it in case the dramon tried something but otherwise not doing anything that could be considered agressive, trying to adopt as unthreatening a posture as possible so as to avoid a fight from breaking out at all costs.
"E-easy there. Nice Volcdramon..." The man quietly said, holding tightly on "Don't mind us, we're just passing through, we'll leave your turf in no time and we can all move on with our lives, aight?" Would the Volcdramon actually be capable of speech, or even understanding him at all? Questions that would possibly be answered soon but also questions that neither of them cared much for an actual answer.
They just wanted to leave this place as soon as possible before the volcanic dwelling lizard decided to get rid of them.

As Mae ascended up the shaft, she would notice that the metal "ceiling" above her was actually a poorly maintained elevator platform. It swayed on the three cables that continued holding it up, creaking all the while. Rust completely coated its bottom, and cracks spiderwebbed across the hinges that kept it adhered towards the ceiling. Almost as if on cue, the platform let out a particularly loud groan as Mae approached. Was this one of Belphemon's machinations, or simply the ravages of time picking a hell of a time to expire?
Beneath this ceiling was another tunnel extending into the mountain. This one was lined by a series of wooden archways, most of which were broken somewhere around their middles. The floor was barely visible, covered by shards of rock, fallen support beams, and coal dust. A derailed mine cart hung over the edge of the tunnel, the wheels still spinning in place. No matter how long Mae watched the wheels, they wouldn't seem to slow down. A particularly large pile of rocks laid against the minecart, swelling every few minutes. It was almost as if it were breathing.
The mine stretched far into the distance, each foot of the tunnel covered in more rubble than the last.
Ironically enough for Holly, the left lever was the right choice. The other grate groaned in protest, but it was no match for Holly's strength. Slowly but surely it wound back up to the ceiling, the telltale KA-CHUNK! of its locking mechanism letting her know it was safe to let go. As she pulled more hot air rushed towards her, previously having been held back by the crude door. As the heat rushed in, the smoke thinned out. Whoever had last used these doors must have left it trapped inside, the smog too heavy and dense to roll out of the tunnel network.
Now that the smoke was thinned and the door was open, Holly would have a far easier time seeing the path ahead. The first thing she would notice was veins of lava that cut through the darkness. They ran across the walls, floor, and even ceiling of the tunnel, which was made up of increasingly black rock. At first the ground would feel as hard and stable as the crimson stone making up the rest of the cave, but the further Holly traveled the more the cave's composition would change towards one of volcanic glass. Lava danced beneath its semi-transparent surface, a bubble occasionally smacking against the obsidian and causing it to shudder. The immense heat would only increase the further Holly advanced, and the rough surface of the obsidian would start to become smooth and slippery. Perhaps her clone from the icy room would have a few words of advice for her.
Perhaps if Holly focused on keeping her balance, she wouldn't notice that the patterns in the obsidian started to look like eyes.
The Holly who dove into the water would find it unlike any water she had encountered before. Despite the rich minerals that filled volcanic hot springs, she would be able to keep her eyes open without it stinging them. Despite the water surrounding her, she would be able to open her mouth, breathe, and even talk without any obstruction. Even her skin and clothes would feel perfectly dry. Instead, the only thing Holly would feel was warmth and relief. It enveloped her like a weighted blanket, the soothing effect only intensifying as she dove beneath the hot spring.
The deeper Holly dove, the warmer she felt. The warmer she felt, the more numb her limbs would start to feel. And the more numb they started to feel, the harder they would be to move. Would Holly continue her dive? Or would she try to pull back while she still had a choice in the matter?
Holly's second clone would have no luck as she pushed and pulled against the door. Both did little more than make the door shudder, its hinges seemingly frozen solid. Even her knock seemed to have little impact, the lonely sound echoing through the icy tunnel. Nobody came to answer her; was this door simply abandoned?
The layer of frost atop the door shimmered, and after a brief flash the reflection of Mephistomon returned. This time, there was a bit more detail visible; this Mephistomon had a skeletal face, a massive parasol, and an elegant, feminine outfit. It also lacked a left arm, Holly's own arm lining up perfectly where the Mephistomon X's own missing one. Its face did not move, yet Holly would hear it answer in the voices of a gravelly demon, a young child, and a perfectly neutral sounding woman. "We all have something like me within us, child," it said. "I simply wear mine on my sleeve, for I know to hide it or to not has no meaning in the end.
What brings you so far? The blood of a warrior flows within you, yet your heart does not beat in kind."
The pale white eye rolled as Holly asked her question. "You're a bad liar, you know," it scoffed. "But most people are just gonna smile and nod anyway. Might I might as well do the same, huh? Not gonna make a difference either way." It turned away, revealing a chestnut brown head lined with red petals. The vines were quick to following, retracting one by one in a complicated, lock-like arrangement.
The door swung open, revealing a Petaldramon lying on its side. One might have expected this to be more of the same malaise that defined the sin of Sloth, but the pool of dried, purple liquid oozing out form Petaldramon's sign quickly dispelled that notion. Its breaths were small and still, as if it was trying its hardest to conserve what little energy it had remaining. Its stems and vines were starting to brown, its petals curled inwards, and most of its nut-like head had peeled away to reveal the white surface beneath. "Hope you like getting lost, kid. There's a lot more of that where this came from."
As the final Holly stopped, only blackness greeted her. The air whistling through the cavern faded to a dull white noise. The bite of the cold against her skin faded to dull numbness. The colorful spots that danced against her closed eyes faded to blackness. The smell of stale, cavernous air faded to nothing. Even the taste of her own breath started to pass from her mind. With her senses closed off, could Holly even be aware that she was alive?
And yet, still, nothing.
Finally, the Volcdramon looked over towards Carlos. It blinked sleepily, looked him up and down, then yawned. As it yawned, the whirlpool of lava started to churn all the faster. What was once gentle twirl whipped up into a storm, sending waves of lava crashing onto the rocks below. Some of the rocks held fast, but others started to bob up and down from the heavy motion of the waves. The rock next to Carlos was smashed so hard by a wave that it shattered into shards. The hands of Meramon and Volcdramon stretched up form the lava, so alarmed by the change in pace that they started blindly groping for anything around them.
Content with its yawn, the Voldramon retreated back beneath the waves. Only his glimmering chrome skull remained above the waves. He glared daggers back at Carlos, as if daring him to leave if he could.

Holly grinned underneath her little mask, turning her head to jade who just ended up giving the sort of bob that indicated a shrug. She’d consider lightly about pulling the first lever again but then stopped when she realized that the hot air and the icy cavern mixing would be a bad idea. The meicrackmon shrugged to herself and stepped forward noting that the first thing was the veins of lava, making it easier to see and ironically something that she could deal with without much issue.
She’d of course have to be careful to watch for dripping. She’d perk up at seeing the obsidian however and write this down. It was a rare mineral in the digital world and many, including kizna would do well to mine it in some regard or another. Jade rolled her ‘eyes’ at seeing the meicrackmon doing such a thing.
As she continued though it got slippier and slippier as the ground turned more glass like. The shuddering and immense heat required holly to drink more water to help her cool off as her fur was making this difficult. She’d pant a little bit and as she wobbled jade would come over to provide support for the meicrackmon.
”We should of grabbed one of those suits that helps with this sort of thing.”
”For next time then. For now let's continue forward yes?”
The holly that dived into the water found that she could breathe, that she could talk. That all she could feel was warmth and relief. It was making it hard to keep going, she couldn’t help but feel that this was a trap. She felt the numbness in her body, the portion of her that wanted to pull away was diminishing with each stroke. But there was something deep down inside her that flared up in anger and the meicrackmon’s eyes sharpened. She wasn’t about to give up, nor was she about to let this place claim her. They had work to do damnit! If she wasn’t....
Alas that thought was too late as the relief washed over her, she felt the soothing numbness continue and with a sigh, she realized it was too late to pull back. The clone having no choice but to keep swimming downwards…
The second holly clone hummed to herself drumming a finger across the door. She couldn’t attack this, she couldn’t do much other than push and yell for someone. If her real self was here they could use the lightning or darkness within her to undo the hinges. A simple puzzle honestly. If the door was abandoned maybe this also meant on the other side it was Belphemon… hiding away from the world!
At the reflection appearing in front of her the meicrackmon lept backwards. Her body naturally coming into a fighting stance… Before noting that the reflection wasn’t doing anything hostile. It was elegant, had a massive parasol and… was actually wearing clothing wow. The triage of voices speaking out made the meicrackmon step forward. Something like her? A demon? The meicrackmon’s curiosity took the reigns here and she’d flick her ears quietly as they asked their question. The blood of a warrior? She felt brief anger flash through her body.
”Purpose brought me this far. I suppose you could say in a way I seek revenge for what the demonlord Daemon did to my mother. My ‘heart’ doesn’t beat in kind because I’m not a warrior. I’m a clone. The real holly… well she’s still trying to make up her mind. Who are you?”
The second to last holly meekly grinned and rubbed at the back of her neck; honestly she wasn’t expecting that to work but how else would it work if you didn’t try? The meicrackmon flicked her ears and blinked furiously as the other unlocked the door for her. She’d let out a sharp gasp as she found that the purple liquid was oozing from the petaldramon. There was that shortness of breath and…
”You’re hurt. Like really badly hurt. Jeez. I never said I was a good liar, I don’t like lying. It doesn’t suit me, so I guess I have that sort of tell. Tch. My name’s holly, well. Rather. Her name is holly, I’m just a holly clone. I can perform basic first aid to stop this flow and the real holly can come here to heal you.”
Holly didn’t even wait for an answer, she’d take some of the vines from earlier. Locate the wounds and make makeshift medical bindings by slicing the fines open to cover more surface area before applying them to the oozing areas. She would grit her teeth a little bit and look up to the mon in front of her.
”What’s your name? I’m going to get holly before she gets too far into whatever cavern she’s in. Keep this open, she’ll be here shortly!”
Answer or no, a moment or two after that she would vanish; leaving her patient on their own for the moment.
The final holly sighed a little bit as she felt the intensiveness of the situation slowly weigh on her. The meicrackmon knew she was alive, she knew it in her heart. Her body. Her soul. She knew that without a doubt that she was here, she wanted to progress and whatever this was wasn’t going to stop her. She’d rear her head in anger, pulling herself up and pointing forward into the abyss that was this place; her limbs weighing heavy as she did so.
”Your attempts at stopping us sloth are in vain! You might be a demonlord but you forget the way the world works in your sloppiness! If we fail more will just come to pick up the pieces time and time again! The world is full of heroes stronger than us and it’s laughable that you haven’t even gained the attention of the royal knights yet! They don’t even consider you all a big enough threat to stop what they’re doing!”
Now that the holly from the plant room had poofed and the information had made it’s way to holly proper she’d freeze. Her eyes widening a bit as she had to think about everything her clone had given her. A badly hurt Petaldramon that was locked in a room all it’s own, slowly dying and losing it’s nectar that would make it difficult to move. It needed something that would heal it drastically. She’d bite down on her lip, turn on her heel [much to Jade’s chargin] and without even giving a second thought to the scenario around her tore back up to where the levers were.
She’d retrace how she did things, jade hurriedly switching formations to a healing one as it could sense what she was intending. It’d take her a few minutes to get to where the petaldramon was… but hopefully it didn’t pass in those faint few minutes! The meicrackmon tore through the caverns that they had come from looking around, her eyes locking on the way that the second to last clone went. She’d snarl and sprint through the cavern; her body kicking into high gear as she realized she didn’t have that long.
The petaldramon wouldn’t even be left alone for five minutes before holly came barging up, she already knew that her work from earlier with the vines wouldn’t hold them for long and the meicrackmon looked over the ‘patient’ for a second before approaching them quickly, reaching to check for the ‘nectar’ flow that could be found in the main stems of plant digimon.
”Don’t worry, Everything’s going to be okay.”
The meicrackmon would start pulling out her first aid kit so that she could better go over the wounds that this mon had. She needed to staunch the flow of nectar first thing but… Would the heavy set liquid be able to seep through her bindings or not? She needed to check that by wrapping them around the vine laden wound for the moment. If it did she would have no choice. In fact, she had no choice as it stood right now. Digivolution to her healer state and a powerful if not certainly over the top healing move would be needed to staunch the damage and even repair this mon up to full.
She wasn’t about to let someone die in front of her, not when she could do the work that she intended. Not when she could save someone, unlike how she couldn’t save her mother from a fate worse than death. She’d grit her teeth at the last thought in her mind and with a small hum she’d get to her grisly work…
The world has so many heroes. So many people that can do so many things. But here and now? I’m the only thing that stands between this mon and death.
Your mother would be proud of you.
She never stopped being proud of me. Of everyone that kept fighting. Even those that didn’t fight. That’s just how she was. How I should be.
No. She would want you to be yourself
I am being myself. But I’m choosing to be a doctor.
A doctor is also a hero you know.

As the Ophanim made her ascent, she noticed that this was, in truth, an elevator shaft, and a long dilapidated one at that. While the Rasielmon cringed, quite heavily so at the creak and groan of the elevator up top, she did take note of the tunnel, and opted to move in there as quickly as she could. Whether the platform fell or not seemed inconsequential when one considered how heavy a sleeper Sloth seemed to be.
...Or maybe that'd be an indicator as to where he was?
As she began to proceed down the mineshaft, the Rasielmon was quick to notice the breathing pile of rocks leaning against the minecart which had no interest in having it's wheels follow physics. A breathing pile of rocks was likely another Digimon. So, by this logic...
"Lulling others to sleep? Kind of unbecoming of you. I don't think this guy knew it was a sleepover." She spoke aloud. Would anything respond?

Unsurprisingly, the Volcdramon was not going to let the group leave so easily. Surprisingly however, it didn't directly attacked them or impede their progress, but was more than content with just making it harder for them to get across as seemingly caused the whirpool to swirl even faster, so much so that it nearly managed to drag Dio along had it not been by the demon's quick thinking, as the Belphemon had managed to dig his claws into the rock Gio was currently standing on.
Carlos cursed under his breath once the initial shock was gone, biting his lower lip so as to not insult the Volcdramon as it lazily submerged himself back into the lava, never taking his glaring eyes off the group. Almost as if he was taunting them. Was this also Sloth's influence? Or was Volcdramon this much of a petty bastard by nature? Neither of the three really cared at this point.
Carlos returned the glare with an utterly unamused squint, tsking loudly. This is what he got for trying to be civil. "If you were gonna be such a prick about it you could at least have gone back to sleep..." As much as he wanted to avoid it, they were gonna have to do things the hard way. He gave Gio two firm pats with his palm, issuing a silent order, to which the Hadesmon responded by carefully grasping the human and holding him protectively against his armored chest, his arms and claws hopefully shielding Carlos from what was to come.
The hadesmon extended his wings for a short moment, as a blueish glow began covering his metallic frame, loud crackles of energy bursting around him as he seemed to gather up power within himself. After that? He'd take flight and fly, speeding over the lava at a breakneck speed. Unless the Volcdramon was quick enough to react and do something, it would probably take Gio a mere couple of seconds to reach the other side of the river, hopefully back to solid rock and safe. Though it would be a rough landing, regardless of the outcome.
Unfortunately, Dio was left behind, not having a way to hold onto Gio without slowing him down. He was left with two options: he could try and keep going through the lava, though the speed and force of the molten rock was going to make that far harder than it needed to be. That and the hands coming out of said whirpool were best left alone. So the Dark Lord went with the other choice: using all his strenght he tried to pull himself out of the lava flow and back to the rock. And if he was allowed to do so by the Volcdramon, he'd take a short moment to shake off some of the hot liquid rock that still stuck to him. Following that? He too took flight with a loud flap of his many wings and would follow after his brother, never once looking away from the eyes of the Volcdramon, already waiting to see if he would pull something else to mess with their plans.
Gio goes zoom with Dark Comet and tries to cross over the lava river as fast as he can.
Dark Comet: After covering his whole body in pure blue energy Gio dashes at mach speed up to 100 feet away from his previous location. If he collides with any enemy it will stop Gio dead on his tracks, but deal medium damage to whoever he hit. 3 turn cooldown.

"Sleep's a choice like any other, you know?"
Belphemon's voice rang out from the pile of rocks. If Mae examined them more closely, she'd notice that they were exactly what she figured they were. In fact, they were a Gotsumon, currently curled up in a rather ignoble looking fetal position. He held a pickaxe tightly, cuddled up to it as if it were a teddy bear. If for whatever reason Mae wanted it, she'd need to pry it out of his cold, probably-not-dead hands. "I mean. Not like I make anyone do anything. Do you really think I want to deal with that? I don't even like making choices in the first place," Belphemon explained. "Though I guess when you put it that way, sleep's the choice to not have to deal with any choices, huh.
Isn't it funny? Even doing nothing is doing something, when you think about it."
The first Holly clone would find herself sinking through the water helplessly. Fortunately, this wouldn't continue long enough for her to start drowning. Instead, she would find the soothing, body-numbing warmth suddenly yanked away from her, followed by the unmistakable sensation of falling. Holly had passed through the water entirely, and what seemed like a hot spring was now a solid glob of water hanging above her. Were Belphemon's powers of slothfulness so powerful that they made the water itself incapable of falling?
The bad news was that there didn't seem to be any ground beneath Holly. The good news was that this would give her a lot of time to gather her bearings. As she looked around the void, she would see nothing but the globe of water above and a speck of light far, far beneath her. It seemed almost angelic in shape, though it would be far too distant for Holly to make out the finer details of it. Would she continue to descend?
"Revenge," Mephistomon X repeated towards the second Holly clone. "An interesting concept. You seek revenge on one by attacking another. Kin, true, yet still not the one you seek. And if this does manage to deliver harm unto Daemon, what do believe you will accomplish? Will this mend your wounds? Will this improve your life?
Will this bring her back?"
As the second Holly clone was faced with matters of philosophy, the third Holly clone would call upon the original to tackle more practical problems. The Petaldramon looked up at her as she arrived, laughing weakly. "Looks like I'm seeing double now. Maybe Belphemon's gonna let me die after all," he rasped. The damage he had sustained was indeed quite sizable. Even with Holly's bindings and wraps, purple sap would continue to seep through. The wrappings would quickly become heavy and damp to the touch, although mercifully the sap hadn't finished leaking through in entirety.
The first thing that Holly would notice was that it these wounds seemed fresh as the day they were given. At the same time, the debilitating condition Petaldramon was in seemed to be years of damage compounding on themselves. Further complicating matters was the fact that the depths of the mountain had been sealed away to keep Belphemon away, which was what had necessitated this mission in the first place. It would be nearly impossible to tell when these wounds had even been given. The only thing Holly would know for sure was that they looked serious, and yet Petaldramon was still alive before her.
"Hell'd you even get here, anyway?"
Gio's foe was every bit as lethargic as Holly's friend, and that would prove its undoing. By the time the Volcdramon had turned towards Gio, he had long darted away from the volcanic dragon's reach. It couldn't be a moment too soon, either. The Volcdramon let out a blast of smoke and flaming cinders in Gio's general direction, which would have badly burned any Digimon less quick on the draw. Instead, Gio would just feel a little bit of warmth on his coattails.
The platform Gio landed on would be a lot more stable than the rocks in the middle of the lava vortex. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any exits on the other side of it! The round stone platform was met by an equally round cavern wall, the smooth black stone forming an impenetrable layer. What looked to be Gargoylemon statues stood around the room, the four of them positioned equidistant from one another. Each faced a different direction, looking as if they were staring each other down. Cracks had spread across the head of the dragon facing east, the chest of the dragon facing north, the wings of the dragon facing south, and the legs of the dragon facing west.
Dio would not have such an easy time of reaching this platform. As he pulled himself out of the lava the Volcdramon turned to face him, his neck practically coiling around Dio's airspace. Once he had occupied Dio's space he opened his mouth wide, firing a similar cinder blast to the one he had launched at Gio. Even if Dio dodged the attack, the resulting blast would leave the air thick with stinging cinders and choking smoke.
Holly's last clone would find, as soon as she opened her mouth, that she couldn't hear a word she was saying. The doors to her senses had already been closed, and while she would be able to consciously think of speech it would be impossible to hear how it sounded afterwards. In fact, she wouldn't even be able to feel the undulation of her throat as the words came out. She had gazed into the abyss, the abyss had gazed back, and now it seemed hell-bent on winning this staring contest. Similarly, even as she thought of running, the feeling of cold stinging her limbs and the sound of footfalls against stone would be numb to her. Her eyes would continue to greet her with little more than inky blackness, and her forward movement would be equal parts uncertain and uninterrupted.
At least, of course, until she was suddenly interrupted. Touch came back first, a dull throb erupting across her body as she bumped into something. It didn't hurt all that much, yet apparently the impact would be enough to send her flying across the room. Smell and taste came as a pair, the faintest hint of stale air now teasing each sense. The occasional distant drip of cave water would be next, heralding the return of her hearing. Each of these returns was partial at best, yet surely but surely Holly's senses would be returning to their full strength. All that was left was Holly's sight.
As a massive spot faded through the blackness, so tall that it seemed to stretch upwards no matter how high she turned her head. It seemed sight was on its way back, too.

"So riddle me this, then. If, say, you don't like to deal with things, then why this? This just leads people to try coming at you." Mae stated towards the Gotsumon as she opted to ignore the fact it's pickaxe was it's rockimakura. Yes, that term exists now. "I suppose it is a little amusing that choosing to do nothing is still considered something, though." She noted as she continued to trudge forward.
"Mark my words, though, the time to act is always there. It's but an inevitability, Sloth." She hissed. As more and more rubble began to make itself apparent, Mae found her advance impeded a bit in terms of how quick she was moving. Was she going to need to start striking her way through this? Furthermore, what exactly did she find?

The first holly clone sighed a little bit as she sank through the water, though once she felt that body numbing warmth be yanked away from her the digimon looked around. She’d spin about to right herself so she could see where she was falling. Eyeing the location about her to better understand the scenario that she was in now. Seeing that globe of water above her and that angelic light below her? Well it didn’t much matter if she collided with something from a long fall, there was no way for her to slow herself. She couldn’t fly! So she decided the best thing she could do was maneuver herself so that she was angled downwards. Sure she wasn’t sleek but that’d make her more like a bullet at this point… She had no other option than descend and knowing that her primary self would use whatever information she could gleam from here was the only real boon. ”Yeah. Revenge. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what she wants. It won’t mend any wounds, it won’t improve my life and no. It won’t bring her back, nothing will bring her back. When people die they tend to stay dead. Now as for what we believe this will accomplish…”The holly clone rubbed her chin, eyeing the Mephistomon X in front of her; a small grin splitting her face and it’d work into a much bigger grin after a few moments. She’d give a shrug and turn her head to look about this room. If she couldn’t continue she could at least learn more about this defense mechanism that she was talking to. ”What it’ll do is just make the world a safer place. Ma would've wanted that. We’re not like her though, we’re no hero. Heroes do big things; we just want to be a doctor but look at us. We’re out in the middle of nowhere trying to find a demonlord in his roost. Though when I say we, I mean us clones. Holly on the other hand? We might be of her mind and of her body but… Her decisions baffle even us. I think she really intends to go the full ‘save the world’ shtick. And regardless of what we think, we do what she wants us to. So if that’s to do this stuff to help her find a demon? Well we’ll bloody do it.”The holly clone snorted a bit and just shook her head. There was a lot wrong with this situation wasn’t there? She could sit here and talk with this Mephistomon x, a digimon type she never saw before. There was a small moment and she’d sigh softly; there was one question she wanted to ask. ”What made you lose your arm?”The last holly clone felt irritated, the door to her senses were closed and well. While she had stared into the abyss she didn’t let it consume her, she didn’t let it just win. She fought back with tooth and nail. Her feet stung, her limbs were cold. The inky blackness mixed with the awkward movement made this situation sort of blossom into an odd problem. The returning of the various senses made her stagger at the end. The massive spot slowly faded into being, making her sort of crane her head; looking about to see what she could. Did she manage to progress with that little stunt…? Holly herself was looking over the Petaldramon’s wounded body; noting that the wrappings were becoming heavy and damp to the touch. She’d grit her teeth and note that the wounds were fresh; still as fresh as the day was given. Would her healing abilities take effect immediately? They were magical and if she pumped enough… Holly ran a hand supportively over the petaldramon’s head. ”Shh shh. Conserve your energy. It’s all right. You’re not going to die. Not if I have anything to say about it at least.”Holly cracked her neck and exhaled slowly; she’d clasp her hands together and there was a momentary pause before her body was pushed into that light of digivolution. She’d grow slightly taller; more toned; more armored, and a strange layer of clothing would appear over her body. A mask clamping down over her face and the mon leaned forward now with an armored gauntlet. The jade orbs slowly rotating around her and she’d mumble to herself as her senses heightened a bit. She could smell the blood so much better, somewhere deep there was a slight rearing of her bodies innate desire to feed. One that she quashed so easily and so readily that it was like a second nature to her. She wanted information; not data. There was a huge difference there. ”All right. Largesse. Cure.”Holly’s hands glowed lightly at the commands she gave and with a small pulse of energy she’d push it into the petaldramon’s body. She knew that it stopped bleeding, she knew that it healed for a decent amount. But the Ancient_Raguelmon also knew that she was dealing with demonlord nonsense here. They were anything but normal and she needed to boost herself to make any real dent now didn’t she? Surprisingly, trying to speed past a half asleep dragon proved to be the least difficult part of their journey so far. At least for everyone besides Dio, who was stuck having to take the hard route and facing the dragon's fury head on. Unfortunately the dragon and man would not find any visible exit on the other side of the river, much to their dismay. "...of course." Carlos sighed, increasing frustration in his tone. It almost felt as if the cave itself was also conspiring against them to make them lose time. That said he refused to turn tail and go back to the start, there had to be something else here. A quick glance of the area revealed the four statues of Gargoylemon, all of them similar looking with the odd cracks in different parts of their body being the only way to distinguish them. Perhaps these were significant somehow, after all why else would they be inside a lava filled chamber with nothing but the fiery river for company? The four dragon like statues seemed to be staring eachother down...or perhaps they were all gazing at the center point that was between them? As the Hadesmon left him safely down on the ground, Carlos made his way there and stood in the middle of the four statues, looking at each of them for a moment, before inspecting the floor, hoping to find any sort of clue. As for the twins, well Dio was indeed still . He put his arms up defensively, the glowing gauntlets blocking the cinders spewed by the volcdramon, but not quite able to stop the acrid smoke that came with it, obscuring the demon's view. It didn't fully stop his advance, but it certainly slowed it some as the belphemon tried tp flap his wings to blow it away whilst moving forward. Gio didn't stood idly while his brother was in danger of course, and from the relative safety of the stone platform turned to face the Volcdramon as well. A swipe of his claws later, even the somewhat lethargic volcdramon would feel some thing changing around him, and unless he moved he'd soon find himself held down by a large, almost ghostly looking claw rising from the lava and grasping a hold of him, hopefully restricting his movements for long enough for Dio to finish making his way across unimpeded. Dio blocks the Volcdramon's attack with Gauntlet of Tartarus but is slowed by the ensuing smoke, while Gio tries to stop the Volcdramon for a moment with Dark Claw.
Gauntlet of Tartarus: Belphemon channels energy to his enormous gauntlets, which allows him to fully block a single mega level or below attack, negating all it's damage. Three posts cooldown.
Dark Claw – Subdue: Summons from the beneath the enemy a giant claw of pure energy that attempts to grab on and restrain it’s target, keeping them in place and dealing minor damage for a turn, as well as making the afflicted target take more damage from any fire related attacks while they’re restrained. 4 turn cooldown.
Cooldowns : Gauntlet of Tartarus (0/3) Dark Comet: (0/3) Dark Claw - Subdue: (0/4)

"Why what? Not like I'm doing anything," the Gotsumon said. As Mae advanced it less walked, more slid after her. It was as if each of the rocks making up its body were tumbling independently, allowing it to drift across the floor with ease. "You mean the whole sleep thing? Yeah, uh, sorry. Not in control of that, like, at all. Just kinda happens. It's a Sloth thing, y'know? But pretty sure trying to deal with me's just gonna make it worse.
Belphemon's voice started to echo in on itself. Was he trying to sound threatening? Probably not. In fact, as the piles of rubble started to stir around Mae, it was clear just what the source of Belphemon's many voices were. What was once one Gotsumon was now at least four of them, rolling after her like the world's slowest avalanche. "I mean, you're the ones who came in here to get hit by pure, concentrated me," they explained in perfect sync. "Kinda makes whatever happens your own fault. But, hey, not gonna judge. Just like I'm not gonna judge these guys. Those shiny rocks must've been really important to them."
If Mae continued further still, she would see that the tunnel came to a sudden halt. Stone had collapsed into a nearly solid mass, only the spider-web of pressurized cracks criss-crossing it hinting that it hadn't always been a natural fixture. The minecart tracks continued, beneath the wall, undaunted, but whatever lied on the other side was a mystery.
Slowly but surely, a chill crept up Mae's spine.
The Holly clone by Mephistomon X was greeted with little more than a stony faced stare. "Interesting," they said, though their tone of voice did not waver. "You claim to be a clone of her, and yet you feel you do not understand her. Perhaps the one you hail from is the type to lie to herself. Perhaps she can only see where her true heart lies when seeing it from the outside. Do you truly act simply to enact her will? Or do you follow her will because you, too, agree deep down? And if you disagree with your very self . . . well, perhaps you should have a nice, long talk with yourself.
As for my arm? Such are the losses I pay for the role I play. I am as disposable a pawn as you are." Would Holly's clone take offense to this statement? She wouldn't know, as she was promptly disposed of so Holly could evolve. The clone unfurled into data before Mephistomon X's eyes.
Holly's other clones were quick to follow suit. The one by Petaldramon unfurled as Holly arrived, its duty as the ailing dragon's emergency contact having come to an end. The one falling through the abyss unfurled just as darkness gave way to light, the statue of a SlashAngemon teasing her vision before she vanished. Yet it may have been the final clone who was left with the most tantalizing glimpse of her future. The large, fuzzy spot in her vision took solid form: a large, fuzzy body, wrapped in a coat of chains and with an alarm clock draped around its neck.
The last thing Holly's clone would see before fading was Belphemon Sleep Mode's left eye easing open.
All of these sensory inputs and more would hit Holly, one after the other. However, she had no time to dwell on them. There was a job for her to do. The Petaldramon huffed as she stroked his head, but didn't fight it. Even exerting the energy to complain was beyond him at the moment. Instead he let his eyes ease shut as the healing magic washed over him. The orb swirled around his body, diffusing into data that seemed to curve towards all of his most wounded areas. He shivered a little at the direct touch, but kept still until the light faded away.
The wounds were still there, every bit as bloody as they had been before. Petaldramon huffed again, a bit of a guilty look in his eyes. "Did everything you could've, kid. Don't beat yourself up over it," he mumbled. Yet for all of his pessimism, a trained medic and expert carnivore like Holly would notice that the bleeding had indeed slowed. It was by an amount so minuscule most Digimon wouldn't even notice, but it was progress all the same.
How literal was Petaldramon when he said Belphemon wouldn't let him die? If Holly ruminated on the question for too long, she'd feel another chill creep down her spine.
The Volcdramon's attack was repelled with ease, and Gio's own attack had landed directly. The Volcdramon was promptly dunked beneath the lava, leaving Dio with a seemingly free path. However, the Volcdramon emerged from the lava mere seconds later. The ghostly arm was still clearly grappling him, but rather than holding onto the Volcdramon's outsides it was now embedded into his body. Had Volcdramon's magma-filled body just slipped through Gio's fingers? Regardless of the reason, it seemed grappling wouldn't work on this foe. It turned its attention to Gio, then turned its ponderous body around, aiming to smash him with a lazy thrash of its tail.
The bad news was that Carlos didn't see any hints on the floor. The worse news as that, as Carlos looked up, he would see that the Gargoylemon had shifted in their positions. The Gargoylemon with cracks on its face raised its hands up to its head, covering them in agony. The Gargoylemon with cracks on its back had sunk to its knees, propping itself up with a single hand. The Gargoylemon with cracks on its legs rose to its knees, as if trying to take flight. As for the Gargoylemon with the cracks on its chest?
It now looked to be lunging towards Carlos, a hand extended towards his neck. Good thing it wasn't moving any further!

There were thoughts and moments like these that holly wished that she wasn’t so curious, wanting to know and understand every venue. The mephistomon x in front of the clone was greeted with a somewhat blank stare for a few long moments. Though the clone gave a small grin as she slowly faded away as the form that kept the clones around wasn’t used any longer. Whatever the mephistomon-x had said to the clone had made some headway… but to where? The one falling was gifted with a brief sight of a statue in front of her; that light was something to behold but it most certainly wasn’t what they were looking for was it? Why was there statues here of all things anyways? Questions that formed in the clone’s mind before it vanished into the nothingness that it came from. The very last clone’s eyes widened slightly as she saw what they had come from. A large solid looking fuzzy body. Wrapped in a coat of chains and with an alarm clock draped around it’s neck. The last thing it was gifted with was that left eye easing open. This clone’s grin split it’s face nearly in twain and as it’s data whisked away a single word was on it’s mind... Gotcha.Holly brought a hand to her head, the first clone certainly had an interesting life this time around didn’t it? Brought with choices, decisions and questions that made it’s information difficult to go over immediately. It was something she’d have to address; did the clones really count as clones? Or were they something different? She didn’t know, but the following one made her frown ever so slightly. What mon was that statue of? She had never seen it before and well… She had seen a lot of angels and this was definitely not one of them! The last clone however…. Made holly’s head jerk to the direction that the clone had been, her eyes staring daggers into the direction. She’d grit her teeth and turn her head back to the Petaldramon. Her healing had worked in such a tiny amount she… Well she didn’t think she had the ability to heal him through this. An ability that stopped the bleeding well.. didn’t stop the bleeding outright. She felt that chill run down her spine as she realized to free this mon from it’s suffering that they may very well need to kill belphemon. She’d run a gauntleted hand across the dragon’s head in a re-assuring way. She could maybe pour herself into another spectrum of this. But if she stayed too long they would lose what little clues they had just gleamed. She doubted that the belphemon would stay in one place… ”No. I didn’t do everything. I didn’t use everything. I need more charge. But… I’ve found him. Or rather my clones did. Tch. Regen”The Ancient_Raguelmon growled a bit and placed either hand onto the dragon mumbling to herself. A single orb coming into play as it was no assigned to the dragon. What was the healer type digimon going to do? The digimon pushed her head against the petaldramon. ”We can end him. But I don’t know what that would mean for you.”She didn’t know if belphemon’s power was causing this or this was just how plant digimon were. The orb pulsing with a barely controlled power. Her gauntlets shifting and clutching at the petaldramon. She wasn’t comfortable letting someone die that she could help save darnit! ”Maybe one of my super mega abilities might be able to combat this but… We’re going to need that for the fight that’s likely going to happen when everyone gets together.” Log: -Holly uses Regen-Regen's strength is increased by 5% due to Aetherflow -With jade being in healing formation, Regen's strength is further increased by 10% -Holly gains one Secret of Aether Stack Passives: |RAM UPGRADE GIGA| Jade orbs: A set of seven somewhat small orbs that change in size based on the host digimon's own size. Wait, was she being followed? The sound of rocks clattering behind her indicated yes, but up till now, she was unaware of the fact there had been more than one Gotsumon in this tunnel. Or the fact that they could even do that. "And the you that's leaking out is arguably worse. I believe it was described as nightmares? How does that make you feel, huh?"
She barely had time to say that before she arrived at a proverbial and very literal dead end. What was this, the result of a cave-in? What exactly happened here? "...What...?" Mae found herself murmuring as that chill slowly went up her spine. Upon which, the ophanim would whirl around in an effort to try seeing what the heck -that- of all things was.
The only thing on her mind at present was how that would not bode well.

For a short, sweet moment Gio was sure it was all over as the Volcdramon sunk back into the lava, giving his brother free way to cross. Of course, such sweet illusions of an easy victory were shattered the moment the dragon reemerged from the boiling pits of hellfire and hurled his massive tail around against Gio. There was little the armored dragon could do but to take the hit, the force behind the tail sending him against the wall behind and down to the rocky ground with a snarl, though he was far from being out of the fight, his wings lighting up almost more brightly than the lava river as a rain of electrified quills shot out from them and at the Volcdramon. On the plus side, this distraction had been enough to allow Dio to finally arrive at his brother and human's side, not much worse for wear all things considered, but considerably more furious with each passing second of this nonsense. "Carlos! Move your rear and find us an exit already!" He yelled as he turned to face the Volcdramon, his maw parting as a bright red release of energy shoot out from it and hopefully against the Volcdramon's frame. The man looked up partly because his search was unsucessful, partly because he had a large demon yelling orders on his ear, and what he saw almost made his heart skip a beat as he found the statues had...moved, all of them taking on wildly different poses than before. One of them even getting dangerously close to grabbing him by the neck with their stone hands, though luckily it had seemingly stopped moving. For now, at least. Honestly it was almost more startling than the Volcdramon loudly trying to kill them at that moment. Almost. Still just to be safe he wisely took a good number of steps away from the statues without taking his eyes away from them, not particularly thrilled about finding out if they would actually continue following his movements. He'd eventually end up with his back pressed against the Belphemon's leg, prompting the demon to turn to him again. "You better be coming back to tell me a plan.""I...think I have one, but I need a bit more time to be sure." By now he was almost entirely sure the statues were important somehow, but what was he expected to do with them? He could have ordered the twins to smash them to bits, but perhaps, perhaps if he let them move some more the answer would become clear? Gio is hit by the Volcdramon's tail, activating his passive before he retaliates with infernal monsoon, while Dio fires a Red Volt as well.
[RAM Upgrade Giga][Passive] Axon Charge: Due to Gio’s rather odd upbringing and traces of his old demon lord data, his body and very core react to physical trauma in an different way. On top of an increased tolerance to pain, every time Gio receives damage from a named move he stores a part of the attack’s energy within him, giving him a charge. He can store up to five of these charges. Every charge gives him a 5% increase in damage to all of his named moves, though he loses a charge for every two turns without receiving damage. Furthermore he can spend all five charges to create a medium ranged explosion around him causing heavy damage to up to two targets, but can’t gain charges for the next two turns.
Charges: [1/5]
Infernal Monsoon: The bladed quills from his wings become electrified with plasmic energy and shoot up to a distance of 100 feet, raining down upon the enemy and causing medium damage to up to two targets. 4 turn cooldown.
Red Volt: An upgraded version of NeoDevimon's Red Ray. Gathering power from within and his surroundings Belphemon fires a massive red beam of destructive energy from his mouth, causing heavy damage and piercing through shields and armor. Three posts cooldown.

Dio: Red Volt: (0/3) Gauntlet of Tartarus (1/3)

"Is it really that much worse? Or do you just have too much going on to feel it?" As Belphemon asked this question, the chill down Mae's spine worsened. She wouldn't have any luck with finding the source of the chill from where she stood. The only thing behind her was caved-in wall, and there weren't any gaps big enough to let the wind through. The only thing in front of her were the Gotsumon, and none of them seemed to be doing anything of particular interest. They just stumbled forward listlessly, eyes closed and mouths gaping. By now there were at least five of them, and each looked more haggard and worn out than the last.
The longer Mae stayed cornered between the Gotsumon and the wall, the deeper the chill would travel. If she didn't act soon it would pass from piercing cold to a numb spreading across her body, and a strange warmth would begin spreading across the numbness. Was this frostbite? Or something more sinister? "Not like the people in the village do a lot. Just kinda go through their day to day. Numbs the mind. Numbs the body. Kinda becomes routine. Like you're sleepwalking through your day," the Gotsumon explained, voices ever so slightly out of sync with one another. "Real easy jump from sleepwalk to sleep, y'know? And push comes to shove, bet most of us are like that. We like our routines. We like our comforts. We like going with the flow. And in the end, we all like putting our head down to sleep.
Isn't it just easier that way?"
The Petaldramon laughed weakly, looking up at Holly. "Hey. No beating yourself up over it. I've been dying for as long as I can remember," he said. "Dying for a little bit longer while you handle your business ain't gonna make a difference. Though, you're trying to end him? Take it from someone who tried; it ain't gonna be easy. Even getting to him's next to impossible. Actually landing a blow? That's whole 'nother story. He's not gonna resist once you get to him. But that doesn't make it any easier. Hell, I'd say it makes it harder.
If you're gonna look for him, though, I'd stop wasting your time with me and start getting a move on. He's not gonna move, but this place has got a way of getting you lost. And any more energy you put into healing me's energy you can't put to use saving yourself.
Hell. You even know where your team is right now?"
Carlos found himself in a situation that called for less healing and more hurting. Dio was able to power through Volcdramon's attack, allowing him and Gio to light it up with a pair of vicious blasting attacks. Unlike the chain from earlier, these attacks clearly hit their mark. Volcdramon was forced to curl itself up, using its tail and metallic skull to protect itself from the piercing quills. That left it wide open for the Red Volt, which pierced right through its attempts at guarding and left it sinking beneath the lava. This time, it didn't resurface. Was it too injured to fight, or had it simply decided the fight wasn't worth the pain?
Regardless, once the Volcdramon had been repelled, there wasn't much less of interest in the room. It was quiet, still, and just a touch too hot, at least until Carlos let his eye wander again. How much time would he give the Gargoylemon? Half of a second? An entire second? Perhaps more? Too much would certainly be dangerous, but the cinders stinging his eyes may have made it difficult to focus his vision back on the statues as soon as he would like to.
When he did reopen his eyes, the statues would have moved in proportion to how long he had looked away for. The Gargoylemon clutching its head was now pounding a single fist onto the ground, small cracks spiderwebbing across the floor where it had punched. The Gargoylemon on its knees was now planked across the floor in agony. The Gargoylemon that had tried to fly, unfortunately, took a tumble. While it was able to leave the ground when Carlos wasn't looking, it crashed to the floor and exploded into shards as soon as his vision fixed itself. And the Gargoylemon that had lunged for him before stood hunkered down in a fighting stance, staring Carlos down menacingly.
The good news was that the statues seemed breakable, if only by their own power. The bad news was that they were capable of cracking stone with their bare fists. That seemed like a concerning thing to be pursued by.
Even surrounded by hot magma, a chill started to worm its way down Carlos' spine.
