Alright, now that we’re down to a proper sixteen person bracket, let’s show the crowd what our simulators can really do!The FoundryThe dusty scent of a factory in motion would immediately fill Cion’s and Desmond’s nostrils as they found themselves on their battlefield, each standing on opposite sides of a long catwalk. It seemed to be some sort of metalworking factory, the sound of groaning machinery somewhere off in the distance – and below each of their feet, directly, would be a gigantic, sparking vat of molten metal, one that might even give a Meramon pause. Granted, it was only those two vats in the area, surrounded below by an otherwise uninteresting, dusty, metal floor. To the left and the right were two identical catwalks, save for the fact that they did not rest over the cauldrons, and each was supported by ten steel chains: two on each wall, and one hanging up over the middle. For the moment, the battlefield was calm, but it might not take long to make this place a chaotic mess (And in this instance, Meramon is not specifically immune to the scalding metal, though he’d probably be fine with the fire it can generate). Cion versus Desmond Edmund Cion starts! However this sentient D-Reaper Scout came to be and whatever its ultimate intentions were, Cion had to admit that its talents for unnecessary drama and complications were steeled. There she had thought she would join another classic tournament of prowess and cunning, but this was far from the case. With each match having randomly selected gimmicks and adjusted conditions, this was more a clash of strategic mastery and adaptability - not unlike a turn-based video game. Although usually having a preference for straightforwardness, there was also pleasant anticipation manifesting in her spirit. As a tiny fennec, she took graceful strides into the pseudo-hellish battlefield. A factory specializing in metallurgy; similar to the final confrontation scenes of renowned movies. The floor was but a frail, thin grid of woven steel fibers, beneath which pools of liquid iron sizzled. Dropping into one of those was most certainly going to be a highly unpleasant experience, hence it was better to maneuver around them and choose positions with with adequate foresight. This was extremely necessary anyway given the almost dwarfish space of their battleground. A few catwalks carried by titanic metal chains above aforementioned cauldrons? Geesh... "Is falling from these footbridges an immediate defeat?" Her young voice kindly called out to the creator of this competition, hoping it could hear her through the masses of agape spectators. Regardless of the answer, there was no point in stalling the inevitable. Beholding her opponent and his partner from a distance, something about them appeared familiar, but her memory granted no straight clarity. Shrugging faintly, she put her right paw in front of her chest and bowed to them nonetheless. Such courtesy was becoming to a fine lady. "Let us entertain our audience, shall we?" She asked rhetorically, yet with sincere playfulness in her tone. Not lowering herself to a level where derisiveness seemed appropriate, she confidently smiled at them and nodded firmly. Knowing of the evolutionary cap, the basic information of her adversary and the suggestions of their host, the small fox was gladly obliging. With a sudden, mighty leap backwards, white radiance surrounded her frame as she metamorphosed into an inferior form. She did not like doing so in serious situations, but for this amusing struggle the limitations were acceptable. Landing with utmost precision on one of the large chains attached to the wall, the flashy veil shattered, revealing a shape quite different from the previous, unassuming fennec. Standing the height of an average woman, she was clad entirely in a steel-gray, advanced bodysuit of digizoid. Having a vulpine aesthetic, a helm covered the entirety of her head, merely allowing the aureate sheen of her eyes to pierce the azure visor. From her neck to her hollows of her knees, a cape of semi-transparent, cobalt blue binary code and bytes adorned her slender physique. In both of her hands rested a sizable, futuristic rifle - its appearance evidently inspired by various sci-fi franchises. Its internal reactor figuratively flared up, ready to unleash beams of accelerated particles. Its wielder though had the patience not to use it immediately. Instead, her gaze swayed to the holograms of cards her eyepiece projected. Utilizing external help was nothing she was ashamed of, especially since it was mandatory, but the concept of using augments was foreign to her. Still, she knew of their capabilities, and having extra sources of damage was always good - despite them not being unlocked as of yet. Giving her temporary rival the time he needed to ascend as well, Cion eventually took proper aim, focusing on the unarmored lower half of the elevated Meramon. "Let's go!" She exclaimed, finally putting an end to the suspense-packed tranquility. Trusting that her inherent agility and celerity would be of great use in short bursts, she decided to not move. Carefully observing what her opposition was capable of, she spoke quietly. "Activating Adaptive Overheal Protocol." In the same instance, a mostly transparent barrier manifested itself around her armored body. Additional protection did not hurt for her start. With her primary weapon accepting the residual energy, the CyberSagitamon HM pulled the secondary trigger. A gleam of light briefly flashed up before a beam of raw force dashed through the emptiness of air with the speed comparable to modern firearms. She was an ancient sentinel who had overcome countless fights and trials. Her short-term enemy though was an unknown to her, and so were the shenanigans of this round. Everything was possible - Intriguing... nevertheless, the tactical dance of attrition had begun! Desmond and Demi entered the very hot battlefield very slowly. The blond tamer wasn't sure how he felt about being that close to the two Digimon but he had to be there for Demi because, to be honest, the fireball wasn't the brightest of a fighter. He took a moment to look around him and there was definitively a certain factory vibe to it but it the air, while surprisingly clean, was way too hot for the human. It would take him a bit more time to get used to that heat but he knew that he had no time to do so. So Desmond began breathing a bit slower and in short bursts hoping that it might help him feel better. It was clear that while his partner might feel at home here, the Frenchman would rather be somewhere else. But it was his decision to come into this tournament so he might as well make it a good fight.
The DemiMeramon was slightly in front of his tamer sporting a huge smile. The heat was his element. Upon seeing his opponent bow, Demi began waving both arms frantically into the air. "Hai!" He shouted joyfully. Desmond simply bowed a little before taking a step back and looking at the small hand of cards he was given for the battle. He would need to use them if he heard the rules correctly. "Desmond!" The tiny voice said his name. "Look! Look!" The fireball was now pointing at Cion who was now making a rather great entrance in her new form. The human didn't move as his eyes were glued on the CyberSagitamon and he felt rather small even if she was smaller than him. It wasn't going to be an easy one for sure.
A series of "Oooooh" came out of Demi's mouth as he was also in awe at how graceful she was. After showing them what she could do, both tamer and partner saw that she was waiting for them to Digivolve as well. Demi turned around and looked at Desmond with his usual smile. The blond tamer smiled as well and took out his Digivice and lifted it into the air. "Ready?" The DemiMeramon nodded and the human nodded back. A beam of light came out of the small device going in a straight line toward the Digimon. The beam then became a sphere upon contact and the sphere just grew bigger and bigger until it reached to around eighteen feet. The sphere then flashed and a much bigger Digimon had now appeared.
The SaintMeramon was a giant compared to his opponent. He was even thrice her size more or less. The Digimon made of fire and red and gold metal slowly began moving his limbs. He looked to his right to see his exposed arm of fire and moved his fingers for a second. He then turned his attention to his two bionic limbs. His armored arm extended completely and the giant lance he had for his other limb pointed to the sky. Demi then roared as his hands touched other and the lance pointed at Cion. It was time to fight. However, Desmond was having a hard time getting a spot to see the fight and be safe as well. He just took another step back and then took one big breath.
Cion's voice surprised the SaintMeramon as she aimed and shot at one of his legs. Demi wasn't sure at where she was aiming at so he instinctively shifted his weight so that his larger armored arms would be facing her. However, the shot hit him straight into his leg and the fire giant grunted a bit. He looked at his leg which felt a bit stiffer than normal. "Demi!" He then heard from behind him. "Get closer to her! Make the battlefield as tight as possible!" The SaintMeramon nodded and looked at his leg before standing tall and slowly made his way toward the CyberSagitamon. He still had his left side facing her and his lance was pointing at her direction ready to strike.
It was easy to see that Demi was not the faster one. His steps looked like he was stomping the catwalk with great force. It only took him two steps before the wound of his leg slowly disappeared into the fire of his leg. The shot she did was good but his ability to Reforge would help him greatly in this fight. And thus, the first round ended with Demi simply trying to get close to Cion.
Battle log - Demi Reforge passive ability activated to heal his leg as he did not attack this round. - No card was used on this round. - Demi is slowly moving toward Cion.

Well... wasn't her first opponent of this fascinating tournament an adorable fella! Unsure if the living flame was indeed a youngling or merely easygoing, Cion had no problem accepting how this rascal preferred to carry himself. Flattered and cajoled by Demi's open admiration, a faint chuckle of delight escaped her maw that was covered by her helmet. Glad to have impressed him in this amusing beginning, she immediately started to look forward to their clash and further opportunities to earn his attention. Victory or loss, this battle was bound to be frolicsome. Patiently, she awaited, and of course anticipated, for the partner of Desmond to ascend to an appropriate level of power. As light engulfed the sentient fire, the CyberSagitamon was slightly surprised to see it attain a titanic height, easily towering her by a threefold. Such a massive, heavily armored form seemed highly disadvantageous in this narrow arena of frail catwalks and hazardous flooring, but it was their decision to make. Having a big and likely immobile target was certainly a convenience which she did not intend to relinquish. "Grandiose!" The humanoid fennec commented, sincere respect with a touch of coltishly subtle irony in her voice. If nothing else, her temporary adversary was gargantuan and probably very durable, making her approach of attrition even more long-winded. But hey - nobody said that this was going to be easy. Besides, for as long as the spectators were entertained by their fight, then what did its duration matter? Her aureate eyes narrowed at the huge lance that was pointed at her, which presumably was the SaintMeramon's primary means of attack. It appeared simple enough to dodge, but also devastatingly mighty. A single hit would impose serious damage on her bodysuit, and a second one was in all likelihood her elimination. Preferring to not be removed from this championship in her first turn, she maintained a lot of focus on this weapon. Naturally, she did not have to forget about the cards and the lad utilizing them. Speaking of which, the fact that her foe received audible orders was incredibly beneficial fore the shielded fox. Every additional moment to gain insight into an enemy's intentions and strategize with them in mind was invaluable to the tactical marksmon. This did not mean an automatic increase in her chances to win, but on the battlefield she was an opportunist. Any inch granted, willingly or accidentally, she'd claim relentlessly. Hence it filled her with great content that her initial shot has landed perfectly. With the beam solidifying, enduring the ablaze giant's body temperatures, the perpetual, electric shock it imposed was relatively weak, but lasting. It was a small but important step to realize her strategy. And this success seemingly vexed the blond Frenchman, leading him to issue immediate commands. This was too rash for the rifleman's taste, but perhaps there was something more to it. As mentioned before, they were an unknown to her, so caution was advised. Watching Demi approach with thunderous steps, his regenerative abilities were evident. Though the projectile remained stuck to serve its purpose, the actual injury it dealt was gone. Whistling with awe, Cion knew that this hulking figure in front of her was going to be an unfathomably tough nut to crack. Still, he did not unleash an ability against her, which was odd. And although her barrier faded, this did not imply that improving her defense was an error. "Yes, come! Maneuver yourself into a corner with me if you believe this to be wise." She taunted the male human and the colossal warrior of torrid blazes. However, she did so in a sportive way, not unlike an older sister keeping a younger brother in suspense. Grinning behind her visor, the CyberSagitamon snapped her fingers. In the same instance, a fast pulse of data soared away from her position. "Nanomachine Realm!"Quickly, the code that way released attached itself to the environment, changing the textures of objects to basic, blue polygons, zeroes and ones. An aura of similar coloration covered the fennec's frame, indicating a connection. Simultaneously, for the SaintMeramon, though not damaging him directly, it was as if this semicircular zone severely gnawed at his stamina. For a titan that already had troubles moving, it certainly was not a pleasant experience. "Rapid Fire Subroutine!" She bellowed as it was bizarrely typical for a digimon to verbally announce a technique. Deploying a gimmick as intended by the host, a volley of homing missiles were launched out of her arm. Shifting her limb's direction, she assured that these projectiles would try to strike their target from every conceivable direction. Pushing herself off the chain, the integrated jet engines of her suit enabled a mighty leap upwards. A trail of flames was left behind as she forcefully slammed her left leg into a humongous link of the chain, rupturing its surface. Being granted temporary grip with this unorthodox action, she stood far away yet finally on the same eye level as her opponent. With this improved position, she took aim at the other exposed leg and fired another particle beam at the hopefully distracted giant. The battle began slowly for Demi but his opponent, CyberSagitamon, was much quicker to attack. Desmond didn't say any order besides going forward to shorten the distance between the two Digimon. As Cion taunted them, Demi was still slowly making his way to her. His steps were heavy making the catwalk rumble a bit on each step. And then, the ground beneath him went blue but Demi did not flinch right away. He felt that his movements were a bit slower now but that didn't make him stop. He did, however, stop for a second to look down before going on. There was not anything he could do to negate that change right now so he just kept on moving and closing the gap to the CyberSagitamon. She was quick for sure, but he knew that he also could strike faster than she would anticipate.
Cion then launched a volley of homing missiles toward him and Demi braced himself and a yellow transparent shield materialized around his left side to protect him. Most of the missiles were blocked by the shield while the other hit him on his armor making him barely move an inch from the impact but it was clear that he did not suffer major damage. The fire giant then crouched down to hide his exposed leg with the yellow shield protecting it from the particle beam shot by the CyberSagitamon. However, the shield quickly went down and Demi stood up again.
Desmond did see the missiles and looked at his deck of cards. He wished that he could do something against the blue field but he couldn't think of something right away. From what he saw, Demi was indeed closing the gap but it would take more time for him to get close enough for a sure strike. He would have to gain some precious seconds and force their opponent to make a mistake. He then saw one of his cards and he looked at Demi once more. The card was named: "Hououmon." He took this card and swiped it on his Digivice and a beam of light was shot to his partner making him grow wings for a second. The wings flapped once and rain of golden powder fell from the sky around Cion.
This trick was to force the CyberSagitamon to move away from his spot and be forced to find cover or even get closer. However, her Nanomachine Realm might protect her from some of the damage, Desmond was confident that it wouldn't negate all of it. The pair of wings then dissipated and Demi was now standing still as a statute. Now was a good time to try something maybe more aggressive. "Demi! Burning Shot!" The SaintMeramon's lance began moving to point at Cion and the tip glowed red for a split second and then a bolt of fire came out of it going toward his opponent.
Desmond hoped that the rain of golden powder and then the shift bolt of intense heat might just work. Cion's size was much smaller than his and that was also an advantage for her being harder to hit. After those attacks, Demi took a deep breath and made another step forward going back to their original tactic of getting closer to Cion for a more disastrous attack.
Battle log - Demi used his Shield ability to protect himself. But still got hit by some of the Rapidmon's missiles on his armor. - Hououmon was used on this round in the form of a shower of golden powder. - Demi used Burning Shot at Cion. - Demi is still moving slowly toward the CyberSagitamon
[Since Demi used two Active Abilities in this Round, Cion gets to use 2 attacks as well]

Well... it seemed that her previous assumptions had been proven absolutely correct. Not only was the SaintMeramon highly durable, but his ability to manifest additional protection shielded him from most of the damage she had attempted to impose on him. Neither the stamina drain, the weak projectile nor the volley of homing missiles sufficed to pierce his armor. Naturally, this vexed Cion quite a bit, but behind her poise and bodysuit she did not display any of her chagrin. If her opponents believed her to be in perfect control then everything was still manageable. Besides, the fight had barely started. However, Desmond's and Demi's sudden onslaught surprised and startled her ever so slightly. Not expecting the powerful Hououmon card to be deployed immediately, it was with hidden yet wide eyes that she beheld the golden wings manifesting around the titanic fire elemental, who had briefly become a seraph. Fully aware of what the particles they unleashed were capable of, it was necessary for her to dash away from the massive chain link she had intended to utilize as a vantage point. Narrowly, and with enhanced velocity thanks to her integrated jetpacks, she whizzed beneath and past the rain of agleam destruction. Though in turn being forced to narrow the gap with her adversary on the frail catwalk, at least the string of small, intertwining explosions solely managed to make her appear rad - in an ironic way of course. After all, cool guys did not look at them. Nonetheless, the CyberSagitamon HM was astonished to realize that their runway had remained intact. "Phew... what's this metal made of? Graphene?" She asked rhetorically and in an uncharacteristically unwound way. Unfortunately, this brief lack of focus was destined to be expensive. Not having anticipated another move, the ablaze titan's ranged attack left her shaken. Akin to a huge laser, the crimson bolt struck her side as she tried to sidestep it. Red heat clashed with the azure aura that protected her, but ultimately it did not manage to negate the assault completely. Instead, as sparks and flashes faded, the right edge of her waist was branded with a glowing scar of almost liquid digizoid. Squalling and gasping, Cion instantly gnashed her teeth and allowed her displeasure to numb the pain. It appeared that she had taken their clash too lightly, but that was a mistake not to be repeated. "Admirably done! But now I'm getting serious, too." She stated vociferously, yet with clear approval. In the end, this was meant to be a battle to be enjoyed by their audience, and not a dull stalemate of standing on a spot and playing with gimmicks. Hence she finally acted accordingly. Suddenly sprinting directly towards her enemy, she cramped a hand and then jerked it upwards. "Translucent Singularity!" She exclaimed during this motion. At once, a pulse drew through the entirety of her large target. Space-time itself looked as if it got ripped apart and twisted, and the force that was released pushed and pulled at Demi from and to every conceivable direction, and especially downwards. Snaring and weakening him in a cage of distorted reality, she knew that she had but seconds to execute her plan, and even then it was fraught with risk. Taking in a deep breath, the vulpine cyborg performed an impressive leap, assisted by the engines in her suit, to vault the partner of Desmond. At its very beginning, she readied her rifle and pressed its secondary trigger, firing two minor beams as before, aimed at exposed limbs. At her jump's zenith, she shouted "Starlight Explosion Subroutine!", imitating her opponent's recently utilized widget. Releasing a downpour of many minuscule mines as angelic feathers carried her for a second, the humanoid fox took aim again, but this time to activate her weapon's primary system. "Shock Blast!" Electricity rapidly accumulated itself in the gun's barrel until it got launched towards the SaintMeramon as a fast bombardment of concentrated energy - the finale and climax of her hopefully awe-inspiring performance. Beholding the symphony of colorful detonations, curious to learn of her temporary rival's fate, her body steadily descended. Desmond and Demi weren't very happy that using the Hououmon card did not affect Cion. Well not directly. Desmond was now looking at his cards again trying to figure which one to use next. So far, the hesitation was clear. He glanced at the two Digimon and lowered the hand that was holding the cards. As the rain of golden powder hit the ground, the blond tamer was also surprised that it did not affect the battlefield. Not that it was in his plan to break the chain. It seemed that his original plan to get closer to her did not work as well. None the less, his tactics didn't work and it was time for another round of battle.
Seeing the CyberSagitamon avoid the Hououmon card effect with her jetpack, the human was now trying to keep his eyes on her trying to calculate where she would land. It was the first time that the duo had to face someone that agile so that made it very hard to predict where she would go next. And then, Demi used his Burning Shot attack and struck Cion on the side of her body. Desmond did not smile but he exhaled heavily. That fight was way too stressful for the tamer. On the other hand, Demi was quite proud of him that his attack worked. He even roared at his opponent with a grin on his face. To be honest, that made him believe that he could win this fight after all.
And then, something happened on the catwalk below his feet and Demi felt that his whole body was getting pulled downwards. The fire giant tried to lift his feet but he just couldn't do anything. He roared again but this time not in victory. Seeing that Demi was slowly getting pulled to a vulnerable position, Desmond began shaking. There was little he could do right no way he just couldn't fight back. The tamer quickly looked at the cards he has in his hand was still shaking a bit. Meanwhile, Demi was now laying on the ground grunting and trying to move his limbs. Soon enough, he was now also completely stuck in that position.
"Demi! Forcefield!" The blond tamer then shout. The SaintMeramon began shining and a sphere of yellow light covered his whole body. The protective forcefield protected him from the golden shower that dissipated upon contact. However, the protective ability wasn't perfect. While being in this sphere, Demi couldn't move at all. Not that he could with Cion's attack but still, he wouldn't be able to move unless the barrier breaks. The CyberSagitamon wasted no time shooting him once more with her Shock Blast attack. The energy of the bolt of electricity hit the yellow barrier and it shattered it into smaller pieces that landed on Demi and disappeared upon touching his armor.
A sigh of relief came outy of Desmond. That would have been disastrous if Cion's plan would have worked. However, Demi wouldn't be able to use this defensive ability anytime soon. Now, he would have to get more aggressive. The SaintMeramon tried once more to get out of whatever was pinning him on the ground. His left arm was the first thing to break free. When that limb got free, the rest of his body would manage to finally move but that left him breathing heavily. That was quite exhausting just standing up. The giant turned around to face Cion but did not attack. He didn't want his opponent to see that that took a lot of energy getting out of it. Fortunately, Demi's body began healing itself once more as he did not attack this round.
Using this short break, Desmond took out the "KendoGarurumon" card and swiped it on his Digivice. His partner head began glowing and as he opened his mouth, a powerful beam of solar power came out of it. He didn't expect it to hit but to gain a bit more time for him to recover from using that forcefield at the last second. And now, the round ends with Demi back of his feet and clearly getting tired.
Battle log - Demi used Forcefield to protect him from the attacks. - Demi Reforge passive ability activated as he did not attack this round. - KendoGarurumon card was used on this round. - Demi is getting tired but did not move this turn.

As Cion, almost to her surprise, managed to land unharmed and with outstanding nimbleness after her impressive leap over the gargantuan SaintMeramon, she took a few seconds to assess the situation once her colorful onslaught had finished. Harrumphing, it was to the vulpine cyborg's unfathomable chagrin that she bore witness of her opponent's mostly intact frame and armor, both protected by another yellow shield that had shattered during her assault. Biting her lower lip, she felt fortunate that nobody was able to behold her frustration for it was covered by a mask of digizoid. Still, her stance was tense. "Tough competition I see..." She stated and wisecracked in an attempt to relieve herself of her vexation. Ultimately, such an attitude was utterly unbecoming to a fine lady, and it was nothing the charming fire elemental deserved to endure. Taking in a deep breath, the CyberSagitamon HM allowed her treasured rifle to vent. As bluish steam streamed out of its sides, her gaze briefly swayed to the injury her bodysuit had suffered. Thankfully, the glowing fabric was steadily cooling down, but the 'scar' had become a material weakness regardless. She certainly had to tread with greater caution. At least the tiny projectiles of her gun's secondary barrel had struck her target, solidifying and tainting the minor lesions with crystalline impairment. The reduced movement speed and constant shock would take quite a while to show how effective attrition was, but that was simply part of the game and her style. This meant all she truly had to do was to prevail and add further damage to her adversary by any means. It was the true beginning of her dance, and perhaps, given his size and lack of mobility, against the ablaze titan it was going to be relatively easy. Nevertheless... no risks. Speaking of dangers, the humanoid fennec's snare had finally ceased to be, allowing Demi, though clearly fatigued and disgruntled, to slowly rise back to his feet. Doubting that this kind of fantastic opportunity would present itself anytime soon, Cion was nonetheless glad that her opponent required additional moments to properly continue their clash. Unfortunately, Desmond was far more proactive and decided to proceed, utilizing cards against her. The KendoGarurumon technique was of lesser might and hence did not perturb her, but it was an incentive to get moving anyway. As the digidestined had anticipated, dodging the beam of solar energy was indeed not a difficult task for someone as agile as the experienced fox. A single jump sufficed to avoid the straight line of hot destruction, and with no continuation the deed was done as quickly as it had been necessitated. However, the young human was not wrong with his estimation that this reaction demanded a valuable moment of exertion. The catwalk evidently was narrow and troublesome to maneuver adequately - unlike an open space. Yet this was not solely to the semi-synthetic huntress' detriment. Having swapped positions with her temporary rival, she had gained sufficient room to move to her heart's content. Regrettably, her offensive abilities were on cooldown, meaning that she could only rely on the provided gimmicks for time being. Curious to learn if the other combatant had another way to defend himself, she rapidly paced backwards and acted on her inquisitiveness. Naturally, this was followed by a weak shot of her ranged weapon. "Hurricane Wave Subroutine!" She bellowed as a nearly invisible blast of raw winds was launched from her hands towards Demi. Not expecting the 'gale' to be very damaging, she nevertheless looked forward to see how harmful it was in combination with everything else she had imposed on him. The CyberSagitamon was agile for sure compared to his partner. While Cion fired shots at the fire giant, Demi made a step forward but it looked like he was limping. The SaintMeramon was getting slower and slower but there was no real sign of him being hurt that much. Most of his face was covered by the helmet making it hard for Cion to see if he was in pain or not. Another heavy and slow step and Demi clearly was slowed. The constant pain in his leg was getting the best of him and his ability to recover health was not going to work forever. The sudden burst of wind would have worked but Demi was so heavy that it just wasn't enough to make him fall. He also used his long lance to strike the catwalk to not lose balance.
The fire giant didn't know what to do next, he wasn't going to win if it continued like that. Now that Cion and he switched place, Demi could now clearly see his tamer and could see that Desmond was trying really hard to find a new trick. The Frenchman took a second to think. There must be a way to get close enough to the CyberSagitamon and get one good hit. One hit might not be enough to end the battle but at least, it might be enough to cripple the CyberSagitamon's agility just long enough for a second hit.
The blond tamer went to look at his cards once more and then an idea came to mind. With Demi being thrice as tall, he could use his height to his advantage. It was going to be risky but by now, everything is risky. His new tactic would be to have Demi fall forward and use his left arm to grab Cion and use the other one to strike. It might not work at all and failing would make him be a very easy target being flat on the catwalk. He would have one chance for it work.
Desmond took out Puppetmon's card and was ready to swipe it. The human took a deep breath and motioned his partner to fall forward hoping that with his left arm extended, he would be in close enough to grab Cion. Demi, however, did not understand what his tamer was trying to tell him. Desmond lifted his arm high into the air and drop his arm very fast with his fist clenched. It wasn't very easy to get but Demi nodded. Leaning his body backward for a second, The SaintMeramon then used his lance to strike in from of him and use that momentum to leap a tiny bit and fall on his belly.
Extending his left bionic arm, Demi really hoped that it was long enough to be able to catch the much smaller The CyberSagitamon. Regardless of if he would succeed or not, The fire giant would spew a breath of intense fire directly on his opponent trying to burn him. It was then that Desmond swiped Puppetmon's card and Puppetmon's Mallet appeared in Demi right arm. He would hit Cion while he would be holding her and if she would be faster and escaped, the length of mallet might just be long enough to hit her.

Naturally, Cion had not expected the hurricane wave to actually accomplish anything significant, except of course to briefly impede her titanic adversary and buy her a few, valuable seconds. She indeed was out of offensive options for the time being, so any means for her to stall the clash to regain her abilities were fine by her. Additionally, she had no intention of simply utilizing her strongest cards right away, especially without sufficient prearrangements. It was a waste, as some of the actions of the ablaze giant and his partner had proven. Ultimately, this was a battle of cunning, not raw might. With her zone and the drain on Demi's stamina expiring, the vulpine marksmon watched as her opponents formulated a plan to properly engage her. Thus far, most attempts and methods to overcome her agility had been in vain or only partially successful, and the reversed positioning did not aid their cause. Attrition sadly was her main routine, hence she had plenty of experience in it, which also included engaging digimons of massive size. They had to come up with a fantastic idea lest they suffered further countermeasures. They quickly did... regrettably, against her it was a mistake of almost fatal proportions. At first startled, upon beholding the SaintMeramon tumbling forward in an attempt to grapple her, the CyberSagitamon sensed the spike of power that was unleashed by both the charged heat and the utilized gimmick. And as the hand of the behemoth, the squall of scorching fires and Puppetmon's mallet sought to vanquish her, all that echoed throughout the artificial smeltery was the sound of the humanoid fox's fingers snapping. This was followed by a surge of chaos detonating as extremely potent forces collided with her frame - at least that was what the spectators believed as cinders and sparks enshrouded the view. As silence returned and uncertainty dissipated, the silhouette of the armored fennec gave way to the full manifestation of her proud, unyielding form. In front and around her was the thin yet unbreachable shape of a dome; prismatic yet mostly translucent. Severalfold larger than the sentinel it protected, it was cracked, but stable. It was solid, physically blocking the clutches of Demi which had desired to catch Cion. Instead, there was nothing gained but a loss of resources and a disadvantageous stance, or rather lack there of. "A clever strategy, but you lacked the patience to learn everything I could do. Assumptions... they are a tool you must never allow your enemy to wield against you." She spoke with utmost calm and care, not unlike a mentor who carried the innermost desire to teach her pupils adequately. Looking at Desmond, she nodded firmly, making sure that he understood that she was addressing him, too. Their competition was but fun and games, but in a life and death struggle, such reckless abandon was potentially lethal. If today taught them but one thing, she hoped it was the lesson just experienced. Sighing quietly, the engines attached to the huntress' bodysuit flared up as she leapt backwards, continuing her assault with the secondary systems of her firearms. The constant shock and impediment of movement worked greatly, which was why she saw no reason to stop. However, with an outstanding opportunity at her disposal, she decided to finally utilize her mightiest piece of additional equipment. "Cross Section Subroutine!" She bellowed as an unassuming yet devastatingly strong boomering manifested itself in her paw. As she landed after her jump ended, she hurled the weapon at the fallen juggernaut with tremendous speed. If he had no ways left to defend himself then this was likely going to hurt a lot. It was not to the ancient soul's liking to inflict pain on others, but given the circumstances she had no choice. Though tremendously ambitious she was quite frugal on a personal level... ,,, but it was precisely a personal impetus that pushed her to seek victory here - fair and square of course. As Demi's assault got blocked by Cion's forcefield, the fire giant began losing hope. Not only did he used his strongest card but also made him into a very bad position. His tamer also thought that it just might be the end of the battle. The two of them listened to Cion telling them that they shouldn't have relied on assumptions. The CyberSagitamon was ultimately faster and calm and collected. Fighting wasn't Desmond's strongest point but this was a tournament and well, he had to learn to fight back. The Saintmeramon saw that his opponent was still standing and barely just rolled on his back to be able to look up and take heavy breaths. He was tired and did what he thought he could. There was no way that he could avoid the attack in his position right now. He would have to take the hit and most likely, be done for the match. Desmond wasn't going to give up though. The blond tamer took another good look at the cards he had left and held his breath hoping that he would be able to find a strategy or anything for his partner to survive one more hit. Surely, the more agile CyberSagitamon would also be close to getting pretty tired. Just one more hit and maybe Demi could just stand back up and ready himself once more. As the SaintMeramon began holding his breath, he felt like the time stopped for a moment. He could feel the air around him shifting and the sound of shots raining down on him. But then, a glimmer sensation of hope grew inside the larger Digimon. As the CyberSagitamon leaped up to shoot him again and again, Demi placed his heavy left arm on his torso and it began glowing yellow. A shield materialized around his forearm as the giant boomerang came down on him. Seeing Demi on the ground might have made Cion a bit cocky and forgot that he too could make forcefields. However, the card used was a very strong one. The shield protected the fire Digimon from most of the impact and it cracked but it was the Chrome Digizoid Armor underneath the left that saved him. Indeed, Demi wasn't maybe the fasted one but he was the more armored one. The SaintMeramon held his cracked shield on his arm as his lance stroke the ground to help him stand up. Desmond exhaled and smiled faintly. He couldn't believe that his partner still had the strength left to summon another forcefield but he did. Demi hoped that his move was enough to give him some time to fully stand up with his shield facing his opponent. It was cracked and only dimly glowing now but it was still there. The boomerang would have been enough to finish him if it wasn't for his armor. The human jumped a bit into the air in joy upon seeing Demi stand up once more. He might not be at full health but at least now, he had his defense up. As for the offense, that was going to be his tamer's turn. The Frenchman took Rapidmon's card and swiped it. The SaintMeramon lifted his right arm into the air and a triangle appeared in his palm. The triangle then shot a colorful beam of energy at Cion. Demi didn't expect it to actually do anything but keep the more agile Digimon on her guard and give him a bit more time for his body to heal itself for a bit. "Demi!" Desmond then shouted with a hint of joy in his voice. "Keep that shield up!" The fire giant nodded and braced himself for whatever Cion would do next. The battle wasn't over just yet.

Tired was probably not the most accurate term to describe Cion's current status, but heavy breathing had certainly become a visible aspect of her armored frame. Usually, she just stood behind her allies, supporting them with her displayed techniques without a great need to move herself. She had a lot of stamina in addition to her agility, but short moments of intense exertion were not her forte. The rapid back and forths that her rival's assaults had necessitated had taken their toll on her endurance. But was it pride or ambitions, she refused to lie down and wheeze. And again, though the CyberSagitamon HM did not know of these thoughts, her adversaries were mistaken about her actions and their origins. It was not cockiness that had led her to utilize her mightiest gimmick against Demi, but an opportunity she had sought to seize. A titan on his knees, likely frustrated and exhausted, was a fantastic moment to strike in her point of view. Unfortunately, his sturdiness was almost insurmountable. Harrumphing, it was vexing her to no end to learn that his ability to shield himself had fully cooled down. Naturally, this left her counterattack in vain. Golly gosh - this was getting tedious... "Very well done." The humanoid fennec commented tensely yet with sincere astonishment. Seldom had she an encountered an enemy this tenacious and focused. Many of those she clashed with were reprobates who enjoyed the sound of their own voice more than anything else. Thankfully, the two partners were swell people; ergo she did not have to suffer yet another unending monologue. Still, she wondered if this battle had already reached its climax. She had presumably not witnessed every attack in the SaintMeramon's arsenal, but considering his defensive approach that was unlikely to happen anyway. As for her... only her most powerful onset remained. Taking in a deep breath, the vulpine marksmon allowed the ablaze giant to get back up on his feet. Perish the thought - she would not deny the valiant combatant his deserved dignity and chance to engage her adequately. Solely wretches did such dirty deeds. "Your tenacity is admirable." Cion once more credited Demi genuinely for his outstanding robustness. Few managed to rise after a massive assault - fewer continued fighting. Desmond's apparent joy was perfectly understandable and well-earned. Oddly enough, it pleased her too, causing her to chuckle with glee. Nonetheless, behind her helmet, she raised an eyebrow upon beholding the card utilized against her. Sighing, she waited for the colorful beam to form itself and be launched in a straight line towards her. Again, it was not her desire to daunt her foes, but it merely required a mighty leap upwards to evade the radiant explosion. Although its booming echo persisted, its force was rendered meaningless. Slowly, with her jetpacks active, she descended while aiming at the protected SaintMeramon. She had to pierce this barrier by all means. Pressing the primary trigger of her futuristic rifle, she briefly contemplated a way to overcome that pesky buckler. Then... something clicked in her mind. With the azure electricity inside her gun close to overflowing, she bellowed. "Lupine Laser Subroutine!" Releasing her shot in the same instance as a large ray of solar energy manifested itself in front of her face, she screamed "Shock Blast!" to announce her core ability. It was nothing new, but perhaps her plan was destined to succeed. As both projectiles, one of them incandescent and thin, the other blue and bulky, soared through the sky, their colors appeared to intertwine. Though coating the arena in gorgeous radiance, her adversary was unlikely to appreciate her spectacle. After all, this was a calculated assault. The solar ray soared towards Demi's chest, while the sphere of electricity was targeted at his lower legs. Deflecting one of them was feasible, but both? Intriguing... So far, it was easy to see that Cion was on the offense and Demi being on the defense. The never-ending waves of attacks of the CyberSagitamon gave the SaintMeramon very little chances to counter so he had to try to last long enough for his opponent to make one mistake. Desmond was quite happy that his partner was using very little energy besides keeping his shield up. He knew that with every passing round, Demi was healing himself bits by bits. Although maybe Cion could do that as well, there was no way for them to know that. Also, it was hard to see any sign of weariness from the tamer's angle. With most of his head covered, the fire giant was also quite hard to read. While he wasn't smiling, who knows what he was thinking behind that helmet.
Seeing that his card didn't work at all, the blond tamer tried to find another one that could help more this time around. He only had three left so he had to make them count. Fortunately, his partner seemed to be ready to defend itself once more. With him being back of his feet and with his shield up, he knew that Demi could stay in that position for a bit longer. Cion seemed to be much better with ranged attacks but that distance, even if it looked small compared to the SaintMeramon, it was still enough for him to position himself to take the least amount of damage. It would take her to get closer to be able to fully get through his defense but of now, Demi was going to keep his guard up.
With his left side facing the smaller Digimon, Demi looked calm and ready. As she shouted her attack, the SaintMeramon kneeled down to protect his exposed legs and placed his shield cover them. Lowering his head slightly to hide his mouth, he braced himself for the two beams of energy that was coming toward him. The one aimed at his chest impacted his armor but did little damage seeing that his torso was pretty much the more armored part of his body. It did, however, leave a mark on it but it was barely visible especially from the distance separating the two.
The other beam stuck the shield and an explosion of colors was seen. The shield cracked and there was little left of it but it did manage to block the beam. Demi stood up once more and the yellow shield faded into nothingness. He could have kept it but seeing how damaged it was, maybe it was the best to concentrate his energy on other things. Meanwhile, the Frenchman had now decided on which card to use. He took out "Gargomon" card and took one second to think before nodding to swiping the card. "Gargo Laser!" Demi looked at his left arm and his hand became an arm gun for a short moment. Without losing any more time, the SaintMeramon aimed at Cion and began shooting bullets at her.
The larger Digimon kept on shooting for the full duration of the card as his lance began aiming as well. He had no real idea on how the CyberSagitamon would react to the bullets but he was ready to take one shot at her with his Burning Shot attack. The lance carefully followed his opponent and tried to predict more or less where she would go. The tip of the lance then grew white for a second and then it shot a bolt of fire. Hopefully, either the Gargo Laser or the Burning Shot would work.
After the attacks, Demi took a look at Desmond to see if he had other plans for this round. He saw his tamer nodded and crossed his arms making an "X" on his chest. The SaintMeramon thought that he wanted to tell him to defend himself once more. The giant of fire and metal placed his left arm in front with the lance pointing at the CyberSagitamon. While he did not regenerate on this turn, the larger Digimon wanted to remind Cion that he too could strike back from distance. Most of his attacks weren't as fast as the Burning Shot but it had a pretty good range.
And with this, it was now Cion's turn to fight back.
Battle Log - Demi's Shield Ability protected him and faded away - Desmond used the Gargomon Card. - Demi used Burning Shot.

Steadily descending and ultimately landing on the surprisingly adamant catwalk beneath her plated boots, Cion beheld the astonishingly ineffective outcome of her once believed clever strategy. Though the shield was shattered, she knew by now that it was only a matter of moments before Demi could utilize it again. And the digizoid armor he vested himself with merely bore a brand from the solar ray. Overall, there was but one thing for the fine lady of grace to do in this situation - blowing raspberries. "Oh goodness..." The armored fennec commented under her breath, wondering when this silly back and forth would finally end. She was barely capable of penetrating her rival's defenses, while he was too bulky to properly engage her. Both of them had strong means to defend themselves, and curatives abilities as well. Attrition and burst damage alike were tediously futile. The sole way to obtain victory was an infallible tactic, but except her ultimate technique there was nothing left to surprise her opponent. So what to do? Likely neither party had an adequate solution to this issue. Was this clash bound to last until they dropped unconscious from fatigue? Hopefully not - that was quite dull for their spectators, was it not? Regrettably, it seemed that the fervor of battle still burned bright within the souls of the digidestined and his chosen digimon. Sighing, the humanoid fox recognized that she had no choice but to oblige them. She hardly cared for the prices this tournament offered, but there were a few things she desired to settle here. This necessitated the defeat of Desmond and his partner, hence she had to cast her weariness aside and focus. Nevertheless... what viable approach remained? As the projectiles of Gargomon's gat soared towards her, Cion threw her arms in front of her torso and helmet to guard herself from the onslaught. After all, dodging gunshots was highly unrealistic, even for someone as nimble as the vulpine marksmon. Thankfully, the attack imposed on her was of the power of a Champion, so marginal - relatively speaking of course. As the impact forces pushed her several meters backwards, her bodysuit endured, keeping its pristine appearance and its partially impaired integrity. As the assault cease, she looked up and gasped upon beholding the incandescent bolt of fire dashing to her current location. Briefly bracing herself anew, a large explosion of flares engulfed her frame and silhouette for a couple of seconds. As smoke, sparks and cinders dissipated, her body lied on the floor. Facing the radiant, blue sky, scorch marks tainted the entirety of her stylishly onyx design. At first, she did not move, silence encompassing the entire arena. Then however, an audible, almost groaning sigh pierced the veil. "Well... this is getting pointless." She asserted calmly; well-nigh lackadaisical. In the same instance, streams of white data and code manifested themselves around her. Entering her system, the scars of her armaments vanished as quickly as they came. Leaping onto her feet as wounds and damages were mended, she unwoundedly beat the grime out of her plating. Her gaze shifted to the determined Frenchman... and then she shrugged. It was not dismissive, but in recognition and acceptance of Demi's vexingly unfathomable endurance and her supreme agility. "Unless you got something up your sleeves?" She asked, more or less interested to witness anything that would return the excitement to this competition. To her, and probably the crowd, the antithetic equality of their might was crystal clear. Exhaling, the CyberSagitamon returned to her muscle memory and the flow of the event which transpired. Taking aim as always, a petite yet effective beam of raw energy was shot at the ablaze giant's exposed leg. Afterwards... she harrumphed and scratched her cheek and chin. "I guess... Water Tower Subroutine?" With these words uttered, she snapped her fingers and pointed at a spot underneath the SaintMeramon's frame. A short moment passed them by as a pillar of water suddenly errupted out of thin air, seeking to drench from bottom to top and perhaps extinquish the flames of her adversary? It was extremely improbable, but... who knows? At this point, it was worth a try. With her active cooldowns, there was not a lot for her to do anyway. As the smoke disappeared, Desmond had a smile on his face when he saw CIon laying on the ground. He really thought that it was over now. However, his smile quickly faded always as he heard her voice saying that it was pointless. It seemed that it was an even match. Demi was too slow due to the Particle Beam Storm to do any real damage to the CyberSagitamon. On the other side, Cion didn't seem to have enough firepower to break the larger Digimon's defense and both of them had the ability to heal themselves. The blond tamer bit his lower lip and was trying very hard to find something that could put the odds on his side. With only two cards left in hand, he wasn't sure which one to use now as both of them didn't look that useful right now.
Cion then looked at the human and he got scared for a second. Well, it seemed that she too knew that the battle was going toward a stalemate unless they find a way to beat each other. The Frenchman doubted that such an option would happen though, there had to be a winner and a loser. Desmond looked at Demi which wasn't smiling. He did look slightly more tired than the CyberSagitamon but he knew that his self-healing would make it even sooner or later. The SaintMeramon also didn't any tactics to grab victory. He was just too slow and far away. While he could try shooting things at his opponent, he was fairly sure that she would be able to dodge them with little to no problem.
And then water came out of the ground right below Demi which created steam slowing him down even more if only for this turn. It would take way more than just that amount of water to hurt him. Cion then hit him on his exposed leg that almost made him lose balance due to the added water but it wasn't quite enough to make him tumble down. Desmond held his breath for a moment and then tried to relax a bit upon seeing Demi almost lose balance. Looking once more at his cards, the blond tamer also picked the Betamon card and swiped it on his Digivice. An Electric Shock came out of Demi's lance toward the CyberSagitamon just to keep her from being able to rest.
After using the card, Desmond signaled to Demi to stand there for a bit longer so that the water would disappear. There wasn't a lot he could do right now, even if it was only going to make the battle longer. The SaintMeramon made one big step backward and then stopped so that he wouldn't be too far away for another ranged attack. A fireball began forming in his right hand but he did not shoot right away. It might not be the best tactic so far but unless they both decide to make a move toward each other, Demi would have to try to range her. He would have liked to get closer but the tower of water underneath him made it difficult to just move forward and the added steam did obscure his view for a moment.
The fire giant wasn't too happy. He felt kind of powerless not being able to defeat his opponent. Cion and himself would have made a great team but alas, this wasn't a team battle. The human also felt the same, the thought that there wasn't anything he could do to the CyberSagitamon was starting to take a toll on his morale. However, he wasn't going to give up right away but the idea of doing so did come up in his mind. Shaking that thought away, the Frenchman took another deep breath. He saw his partner preparing a fireball so he wasn't going to shout orders to him on this turn, he has trust in the SaintMeramon judgment.
Demi wasn't very good at hiding the growing fireball though. Being so big and glowing made it easy for anyone to see it coming. That would, however, give Cion a few seconds to think of a new plan or annoy her enough so that she would make one mistake. Shifting his weight to have his armored arms facing the more agile Digimon, the SaintMeramon braced himself. Hopefully, one of them will find a weak spot or it might end up as a stalemate.
Battle Log - Desmond used the Betamon Card. - Demi began charging a Fireball attack. - Demi's Reforge passive ability activated to heal as he did not attack this round.
