Alright, now that we’re down to a proper sixteen person bracket, let’s show the crowd what our simulators can really do!Dragon’s ValleyDraconic twins, and a veritable army built out of several components? The battlefield would have to be large. Both groups would find themselves about fifty yards apart, a rough, rocky floor beneath them as the sun pounded on overhead. On the left and the right, a good hundred yards to either side, stood impressively tall rock structures hanging over the ground below, the battlefield itself a simple rocky valley. There were points to take advantage of, and potential boulders to dislodge on either side to create a landslide… But for a battle of this scale, the Scout couldn’t insult it. Simplicity was best. His D-Watch buzzed again on his wrist, and again Justice ignored it. Ever since he installed the improved scanner on his digivice, it would notify him to scan any Digimon he'd never seen before, storing its information in its database for record use. He would learn of the Digimon, their name, attribute, type, family, a quick description along with some of their signature moves. Usually the young man would comply to the D-Watch's calls, reading the information out loud so that he and his Digimon would have a better idea on who they were up against and what strategies to take. Things were different this time. He and his Digimon--Vee and Gummy-- stood on the adjacent side of the newly erected arena. Before the arena with a hundred feet in radius with an electric field that would zap anyone that would dare go out-of bounds, now it was sporting a rocky terrain with tall rock structures stretching as high as whatever program would take them. On the other side of the arena were their opponents: Tadayoshi and his army. Justice knew it would come to this, that one day a rematch between them would come. He shuffled the cards in his hands, trying to calm himself down. He tired his best to ignore eye contact with them. When he did, a glare would escape to meet with them here and there. It was difficult to ignore what happened earlier. His outburst against him and everyone associated with him. Despite that incident happening god knows how long ago, it was still fresh on his mind, like it was replaying in the back of his mind again like a broken record player. It almost reminded him of...no! No. he can't think of that day. He was feeling a lot of things right now. On one hand, he felt like everything he said to them in the break room was justified. To him, Tadayoshi and his army represented everything he despises in a person rolled up into one: arrogant, massive superiority complex, and narcissistic. But on the other hand, he felt that the way he went about it was very immature. He was conflicted on what to actually feel right now. Should he feel anger, or just forget all of that ever happen? "Fuck." Justice exhaled and put his hand on his forehead, catching the attention of his two Digimon. Vee looked at him with concern and reached out to grab his hand. "Deep breaths, Justice." Vee said. "Deep breaths. Breathe in, and out slowly."Justice complied to the blue dragon. He closed his eyes, slowly inhaling and exhaling. He felt a ton of pressure being lifted up already. He then felt a fist touching his face. Opening his eyes, he saw it was Gummy who did that. His small wings lifting his body up to his height level. "Don't go hyperventilating on us now, Specs." The Gumdramon said, giving a confident smile before turning his head to Commandramon, glaring at him. "Otherwise we won't give them twice the whopping."The young man nodded. "Yeah...sorry about that. I'm just so-""We know." The two interrupted him. With that, the two started to walk towards the center of arena. As they were approaching the center, Vee took off his red scarf and rushed back to his Tamer, giving it to him. "Your...""Yup!" The Veemon finished for him. "For you to keep it safe. Don't want it getting messed up in our fight. I can't come back to you with a tattered scarf, you know. Then how will ya distinguish me from other Veemons, huh?" He let out a genuine laugh, a laugh that was enough to lift Justice's spirt. Vee then dashed back to his brother, who was waiting for him. With his self doubts and all negativity lifted from him, a small smile escaped from Justice. "Thanks, guys." he muttered to himself, clutching Vee's scarf. He then shifted his gaze at Tadayoshi, no longer sporting the hateful glare in his eyes from earlier. Instead, he let out a grin at them. He held raised the D-Watch on his wrist, the device lighting up in a flash of orange shimmer. Both Digimon were swallowed by the light as it shot at them respectively. "Veemon, digivolve to...XVeemon!""Gumdramon, digivolve to...Arresterdramon!"The twins took no time in letting their opponents admired their new form. "Don't think it'll end like last time," Gummy declared. Instead of rushing like the last time, they decided to play it safe for the first move. "EX Laser!" The X sigal on the XVmon's chest shined brightly, releasing an energy wave in the shape of an X at their opponent. An easy move to telegraph, yes, but knowing Commandramon, he would still let them have the first move either way. Combat Log:Vee digivolves to XVmon.Gummy digivolves to Arresterdramon.Vee uses EX Laser as the first move. Ex Laser: Chagres an intense laser beam in the shape of an X from its X patterned-chest and fires it towards the enemy. Strong enough to destroy large boulders. Two-post cooldown.
Combat Passives:Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.

So Justice was taking a second to psych up? That was OK. Silence could, too. "Don't get complacent. We're well-rested thanks to the bye, but they're warmed up." Tadayoshi tried to think of more to say, but he didn't have much. So instead he yielded, "The floor is yours, captain."
Commandramon stepped into the center of the circle of the very large team with confidence. He definitely knew what to say, and he announced it with a voice that carried well in this valley. "From what we know, the dragon twins are all-out very heavy hitters, and they've got a score to settle!" Commandramon smiled a little. "Don't let them! Jetmon, you'll be starting this round beside me."
"Sir."
"Options, versatility, and adapting as we go are going to be our keys to victory today. Let's show these run-of-the-mill Tamers, these human digimon impersonators, all these arrogant lone wolves, and the entire digital world what a General's force can do!" The squad let out a cheer, but Commandramon still hadn't reached his climax. "Show those twins what impeccable teamwork really looks like!" A louder, hardier cheer. Commandramon held out one paw straight out. A Strabimon caught on instantly and set his own bare paw on the soldier's armored one. A BlackTerriermon was a bit shorter, but she was able to add her ear to the pile. Hagurumon contributed a gear. One of the six Missimon stuck their own hand in. The two Rocketmon were starting to fight for space, but they managed to find theirs. A Searchmon just landed on top of this pile. Rashi was able to stick his nose in from underneath. Finally, Deckerdramon was only able to fit one claw due to his massive bulk. The Alpha MetalKoromon, distinguishable by the letter A painted on its back, was able to magnetically stick to one side. What a crowded little space. Their last hearty cheer was explosive.
"Ooh-rah!" "Ooh-rah!" "O-ooh-rah!" Half the Missimon shouted, "Ooh-" While the other half finished, "-rah!"
"Ooh-rah!"
"Ooh-rah!
"Ooh-rah!"
"Ooh-rah!"
"Hahahaha, ooh-rah!"
"Ooh-rah."
Alpha beeped loudly.
Commandramon and Jetmon did not step forward to the center. Why would they? They were just fine nice and far from the center this time, thank you very much. But Justice and co could know they were ready when, instead, the rest of the team stepped back, closer to the wall's edge. Commandramon noted, 20-25 yards as their distance while his skin changed color and pattern - something more closely matching the stone environment than urban digital. With plenty of space to play with. I'm sure the General is thinking what I'm thinking. Click-click. The first round in his Beretta ARX160 was chambered.
So, the twins learned to digivolve? So what? They hadn't learned to press by attacking at the same time, apparently, or to make their attacks harder to dodge. Commandramon intentionally showed little effort as he escaped the beam by... walking forward. True, it was a brisk walk, but all the soldier had to do avoid the hit was casually stroll directly under the X, between its two lower 'brances' that spaced outward. He even kept eye contact with ExVeemon as he did it, too. "Dispense with the warning shots and fight!" Commandramon demanded.
Did he really have to be so casual and cocky about it? No. That wasn't in his nature, either. But this wasn't just to mock his opponent; it was psy-ops.
In the background, Tadayoshi was giving orders to his reserve team. They were inaudible to Justice, by intention, but in answer to them more digimon joined the fray. Kamushi the Searchmon and Dakota the Strabimon flanked Commandramon. "We're here to help bzzzzzz, big boy bzzzzt!"
"Got your back, bro."
Before Jetmon could take off, she was joined at her sides by Hagurumon and the Rocketmon brothers Jekyll and Hyde. "I'll try my best, OK?" "On your wing, Lieutenant!" "Let's do this, boys!" The next order Tadayoshi shouted from afar, though, was a loud, audible shout. "Digi-Xros!" A total of seven digimon all became shining lights that started to spin around each other in mid-air. They rose upward as two columns forming triple helix formations, getting closer and closer until they finally met mid-air and merged. Each helix column came back down to Earth as a single digimon. Or, rather, one did.
"Scorpmon." His voice was still Commandramon's, but somehow it was even more cool and calm than normal. "You can't even hit a still, visible target. How do you intend to hit me?" And just like that... he was gone. Disappeared before the twins' very eyes. Where did he go? Well, not very far, actually; he was just invisible. But he was indeed moving at the pace of a walk toward the wall. He was trying to put as much distance between himself and the twins as he could. 30. 35. 40. He continued to track his distance along his way, and by keeping his deliberate pace his camouflage was just about perfect. He was trying to be very careful not to knock a stone, leave a print, lose his footing, make a sound - this sniper was going to be very difficult to detect.
His partner was not. "WarPteramon!"
There was a high-pitched whistle as the bomber spun up her engines. She almost fell to the ground herself, but just in time she gained the velocity she needed to remain airborne. She banked her wings enough to give herself room to slip through the twins and flew on toward the wall. No matter. She had the agility to pull her nose upward and ascend high... very high. Concerning high. She was becoming a smaller and smaller target very, very quickly. When she settled on a cruising altitude at last, she rolled and started to circle around the battlefield... which, to her, looked like a little spec. But just to make herself a still tougher target, she started a barrel roll as a couple of flaps behind her opened up. "Flare Blinder!" Her rolling dislodged a set of flares tucked in storage, and they began to scatter out from behind her in her trail. Their light was very bright, both making them hard to look at and making it hard to tell her apart from the flares all over the sky as well as serving as a diversion from her herself.
In the background, Tadayoshi was reading his borrowed cards and memorizing them fast as he could with one hand. The other was idly fidgeting with that alien device: a rental D-ARC. Actions:
Commandramon evaded EX Laser. Commandramon, Dakota, and Kamushi fused to X3 Scorpmon. Jetmon, Hagurumon, and the Rocketmon twins fused to X3 WarPteramon. Scorpmon used Digi-Ghillie.
-Digi-Ghillie: Like a chameleon, this digimon becomes almost completely invisible by blending into the environment for two posts. Using another named ability cancels this effect early, and moving faster than a casual walk makes Scorpmon easier to see the faster he moves. Cooldown: 1 post WarPteramon used Flare Blinder. -Flare Blinder: This digimon begins to release a flares behind her as she flies that confuse the enemy to make ranged attacks 50% more likely to miss her for 3 posts. Cooldown: 2 posts.
Relevant Passives:
High-Altitude Flying (passive): This digimon flies at speeds and altitudes fast and high enough to make her very difficult to target. While airborne, this digimon gains a 30% evasion boost.

As predicted, the warm-up shot the XV-mon fired was easily, yet impressively dodge by the Commandramon. He'll give that to him at least. It was basically a warning shot after all. He could tell by the soldier's demeanor and tone that he was not at all surprised at the reaching to the Champion. So he still thought that they just a bunch of kids that didn't know how to fight properly? Even for the high and mighty Commandramon, that was disrespectful that they didn't take he and his brother seriously. The twins and Justice watched as the majority of Tadayoshi's army did something, well...unique. It wasn't digivolution, rather something unique entirely. They were more or less combined into two separate conglomerate entities: a militarized, cybernectic Digimon with a sniper rifle for an arm named Scorpmon, and a large mechanical bird with engine propulsions on its talons called WarPteramon. Justice's D-Watch started to buzz again, He wouldn't comply since all items were banned in the ring. "Oh Jesus Christ, they may have a lot of abilities." Justice said to himself, becoming slightly intimidated by the thought. "Well...If that's the case, then I'm not suprised. I kind of expected that from Mr. Perfect Guy over there."Scorpmon then made himself invisible, seemely disappearing from the twins view out of thin air. On top of that, WarPteramon rushed through the twins and started to ascend high above the arena. It looks like both of the twins' opponents were playing the distance game. Now how does one go about this... The two Champion Digimons looked at each other. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Vee asked the Gummy. The Arresterdramon nodded. "Hell yeah. Let's do this!"With that, the two Digimon split up; Gummy took to the skies after the mechanical bird.Even though they work extremely well together, they do just as good at fighting separated. Gummy slide the goggles across his forehead to his eyes, wanting to show off a little flair as he ascended higher and higher. Once he got close enough, his Tail Anchor increased in length. "Spin Caliber!" He slashed at the mechanical bird Digimon in a horizontal direction, aiming for h mid-body section. As for Vee, the XV-mon carefully walked throughout the battlefield with his defenses up, trying to find any signs of the Scorpmon. Seeing that his trying to find any clues wasn't getting anywhere after walking two dozen meters, he started to sniff the air to find even a hint of a scent ; that's all he need, really. It doesn't matter how hard you tired to hide: through footprints, sound, or physical appearance, no one can really erase all traces of their presence, even if they wanted to. After a couple of seconds of sniffing the air, his nose started to pick up something. It was faint, but it was a scent. Turning to where the camouflaged Digimon was at. This was enough of a signal for Justice to make his move. Shuffling the cards in his hand, he found a card that was suited for this kind of situation. "Alright, try this one!" he said, sliding the card on the device know as a D-ARC he was given before the start of the match. Immediately, Vee felt a foreign data entering to him, his eyes glowing as a result. The appendages on the top of his head morphed into the ears of a Terriermon. "Terrier Tornado!" he yelled as a tornadic whirlwind blasted to where the Scorpmon was supposedly at. To the other side, they think it was meant to attack him, but it wasn't. As the tornado started to kick up dust and debris, all of that will shower across the battlefield within a couple dozen meters, including their invisible opponent's cloak, showing his silhouette. When that did, the XV-mon would charge at him with a right hook. Comabt Log:
Gummy uses Spin Caliber.Spin Caliber: Slashes the enemy with his super-sized Tail Anchor. Causes minor bleeding effect (damage over time) for two turns. Two post cool down.Vee uses Terrier Tornado to pinpoint Scorpmon's location. If that did, he would charge at him with a powerful right hook. Cards Used:WG-04
Card Name: Terriermon
Type: Digimon
Rank: Bronze
Duration: 1 Post
Bunny Blast: The target Digimon spews a green breeze from its mouth.
Terrier Tornado: The target Digimon’s ears grow, allowing it to spin and produce a small whirlwind with it’s ears.[/spoiler] Combat Passive/s:
Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.

Here come the cards. Tadayoshi tensed, and as ExVeemon executed the card, Tadayoshi read his own to get a feel for its possible advantages. Terrier Tornado. Bronze. Makes a whirlwind... huh? What is he thinking?
Scorpmon was equally confused. He froze in place for maximum camo. He made me? No, that couldn't be it. ExVeemon had missed wide. His miniature whirlwind wasn't nearly close enough to catch Scorpmon, nor was it nearly to strong enough to even make a scratch in the first place. No... the dust! Scorpmon looked at his own left arm. It was still camouflaged perfectly into the environment, but the dust was settling over his camouflage. His form was visible! ExVeemon didn't know it for sure, but the two were locking eyes.
Time to go! Zip! Maybe ExVeemon spotted Scorpmon, but ExVeemon wasn't about to hit anything with that shoulder charge (except, possibly, the rocky structure). Scorpmon turned and ran as soon as he knew he was marked, and with the help of his own combat data he was able to clear out of there so fast that he practically disappeared without a trace... again. But this time he actually left the area, got away clean. Where did he go? Scorpmon estimated his distance again: About ninety meters. Even better, Scorpmon had gone and given himself the high ground. In a split second, he'd climbed into the rocky hills and set himself down just below his apex, so his silhouette would be harder to spot. But there was no time to lose now. He was perfectly visible, so this shot had to be taken quickly. He lay down prone just to make himself a smaller target and steady himself. A flat stone was where he'd steady his barrel for lacking of time to deploy the bipod.
Did we overshoot? I made them X3, but the twins are still champions. Tadayoshi squinted his eyes thoughtfully. No... this virtual space shouldn't have allowed my team to go that high if the twins couldn't. Is this part of some plan, or did they really blunder that badly? Tadayoshi eyed one of his cards. I'd better use this card before they wise up and evolve, assuming they make it to that point. On the aerial front, the Arresterdramon did the right thing getting in close. It made the flare deterrent much less effective. WarPteramon thought that she could simply outrun Gummy and keep him from getting close altogether, but looking down at the battlefield it looked like Scorpmon could use some cover fire. While Scorpmon was setting up his shot, WarPteramon made a sudden cut to sharpen her circle and, "Mmmrh," got herself slashed by Gummy. But that was a hit she could take just fine. To her it felt little more painful than a pinprick. Being a mechanical digimon she couldn't 'bleed' in the normal sense, but a couple of nuts and bolts did fall off mid-flight. Nothing critical.
WarPteramon intended to bomb the living snot out of ExVeemon for cover, but Tadayoshi was giving her a signal - a wide waving motion with one arm, D-ARC in hand. Was he asking her to hold off? That was what she thought, so she did. It turned out she was right. Tadayoshi smirked. Let's see what these things can do! Tadayoshi held the ARC out far from his body in his left hand. With the right, he slashed the card through it like wielding a sword. "Digi-Modify! ExVeemon's Vee Laser!"
"Vee Laser!" As Pteramon whooshed over ExVeemon (the real one), she loosed a very familiar attack launched at its signature user. This X-shaped laser descended straight down over the dragon, threatening to squash him like a pancake had it been a solid object. But Pteramon didn't stick around to see just whether she was successful. She zoomed right on past, but instead of returning to a circle pattern, she looped upwards halfway in the air and rolled to right herself - essentially a mid-air U-turn. This was so she could sail right back over Vee, strike at him twice in rapid succession. "Commencing Bombing Run!" Death from above came again. Rocket-propelled bombs shot out from beneath the jet digimon and started to rain once again around ExVeemon's direction. That was a whole lot of explosions happening at once. Hopefully it was harmful, but the main idea was for it to be distracting. If ExVeemon had to keep his eyes on WarPteramon, Scorpmon should have been just as invisible as he was before if not more so, even without the Digi-Ghillie. He might even still have been, because when he fired his rifle it was during that barrage of explosions, which should have helped disguise the sound of his loud weapon. Good work, Lieutenant, the captain praised her in his head. Lateral distance ninety meters. No wind. Unknown exact temperature and humidity, but should be negligible at this range. Elevation to target, slightly over a hundred twenty meters. About a hundred fifty meters as the Crowmon flies. Adjust for gravity... The bombs were coming down. Inhale. Hold steady. Adjust for movement. The first bomb hit the ground. Open mouth. Exhale. Squeeze. Pip! As he squeezed the trigger, a suppressor formed at the weapon's barrel, disguising the muzzle flash and muffling a lot of the sound. Ideally, nobody could even remember Scorpmon was still here, but if they did, the reminder would hopefully be when the sniper's round pierced straight through Vee's center-mass. Hit or miss, it was time to change location again. The sniper collected his rifle and began a crawl to a new perch, trying to stay between rocks to use them as both concealment from view and cover from return fire.
Actions:
Terrier Tornado missed Scorpmon but momentarily revealed him.
-Keep Your Distance! (passive) was triggered. Scorpmon escaped far above Vee and to his left.
-Digi-Ghillie
The shoulder charge missed Scorpmon. WarPteramon was hit by Spin Caliber. Tadayoshi activated ExVeemon (Silver).
WarPteramon attacked Vee with Vee Laser. -Vee Laser: Fires an X shaped laser from the target Digimon's chest. WarPteramon attacked Vee with Bombing Run. -Bombing Run: This digimon attempts to fly over her target and drop a barrage of bombs from a hold in her middle which opens up to deal explosion damage.
Scorpmon attacked Vee with Silent Snipe. -Silent Snipe: This digimon's rifle muzzle morphs into a suppressor. Then, he shoots at the opponent with a metal bullet to deal damage. While Digi-Ghillie is active: this ability does not take the post's action and does not disrupt the effect of Digi-Ghillie, but this ability gains a cooldown of 3 posts.
Status: WarPteramon is spouting flares: 2 posts remaining. WarPteramon is bleeding: 1 post remaining.
Relevant Passives:
-High-Altitude Flying (passive): This digimon flies at speeds and altitudes fast and high enough to make her very difficult to target. While airborne, this digimon gains a 30% evasion boost. -Keep Your Distance! (passive): Whenever this digimon is targeted by an attack that misses him, he can quickly and stealthily flee the area to a new location on the battlefield, ideally giving him a chance to hide before he strikes again. This flight is so fast it's almost like teleportation. This ability cannot be used to travel further than 500 feet nor while Scorpmon is slowed down, restrained, immobilized, or otherwise suffering from difficulties affecting movement. In order to always be ready to strike, Scorpmon will only stop moving when he has a line of sight on an opponent. Cooldown: 1 post.
Cooldowns: Digi-Ghillie: 0 Flare Blinder: 1 Keep Your Distance!: 1

Justice anticipated this; The winds from the whirlwind started to pick up dust and dirt and spread it out words from the epicenter. Doing so slowly revealed the invisible Digimon’s shiluothe. Justice scoffed at Tadayoshi. “If you thought I was just some meat with anger issues, you’re far from the correct answer.”
Vee picked the rock structure, the formation turning into rubble as if he was snapping a twig. To his surprise however, he didn’t end up punching his opponent. Was his nose wrong and he was at some other place? Sniffing the rubble, it turns out he was right, and Scorpmon may have just evaded his attack as soon as he was spotted. Good. At least he was on the right track. Even though he may not have a keen sense of smell like his brother has, it was still good enough to distinguish the many scents in the air. Speaking of his younger brother, Gummy’sattack landed on WarPteramon. But rather than retaliate with one of his jet propulsion talons or something, the mechanical Digimon aimed her sights at Vee instead. This irritated the Arresterdramon. “You overgrown scrap pile!” he yelled, following the Digimon in hot pursuit. “ Don’t you ignore me when I’m fighting you!”
Vee reared his head upwards, hearing the jet engine noise coming from the WarPteramon. The Digimon then activated a card and Vee braced for whatever what was coming. The Digimon then launched a familiar attack at him, so familiar in fact that something in the back of his head screamed Thief over and over again. That was his signature attack! Rolling out of the way just in time, Vee glared at his opponent in annoyance. "Hey, didn't anyone teach you that stealing somebody's special move is unfair?"Seeing this, Justice randomly pulled out another card from his deck, and lo and behold, it was the same card Tadayoshi used. “Copyright Infringement law, do your thing,” he said, slashing the card on the D-ARC. "Vee Laser!” the XV-mon bellowed, the X-symbol on his chest shined once more as the laser launched at WarPteramon just as she flew by him. To his surprise, he saw bombs begin to drop at a rapid speed soon after he launched his attack. To brace himself, he crossed both his arms and his wings over his face, preparing to shield himself from the bombardment as best as he could. He closed his eyes, preparing for the rain of hell. Until… “Bro if you don’t get your ass out of the way!”
Wham! Vee then felt a sudden force plowed at him like a Trailmon a dozen meters, so much force that it almost knocked the wind out of him. After that, the bombs hit the ground, producing numerous explosions throughout the battlefield. After the smoke cleared, Vee opened his eyes, feeling burns here and there. To his surprise and relief, the force that tackled him was none other than Gummy, who was on top of, looking at him with a hint of concern while clutching his shoulder. Theey were behind one of the tall rocky structure, which partially help them from not getting any severe injuries. “Uggh...you could have at least carried me here instead of being rough." Vee said, shaking his head.Gummy scoff in response. “Hmph! And get caught in the middle of those explosions with you? No thanks. Besides, your dumbass was completely standing still, so I thought kicking you out of the way would work. It did.”
The Arresterdramon then winced in pain, clutching his shoulder. “ That damn sniper’s aim is impeccable, I'll give him that.” Despite it hurting, it was pain that’ll eventually go away. His battle armor did the best it could shielding him from the bullet. If he hadn't digivolve, his arm would have seriously messed up if it did. Vee then slowly got up. “We’re at a disadvantage here,” he said, “Their coordination and strategies are good—really good. If we’re going to attack ‘em good, we gotta hit ‘em good all at once."Gummy tilted his head in confusion. “How?”
"By taking it to the next level!”
If the Arresterdramon has a mouth, he would be smiling right now. The twins then flew up, high enough so that Justice could see them without all the rock formations in the way. “Hey Specs, Gummy called out. "Hit us up again!”
Nodding, Justice raised his D-Watch up again. His eyes glowed a brilliant golden amber, a light which enveloped Vee and Gummy too. The ground beneath him changed as the golden light spread from Justice’s feet. The rocky terrain started to become engulfed by fire, fire that did not fazed him in the slightest as the wind blew against his hair. The fire was then absorbed into his D-Watch, then it shot out aiming at the twins, their eyes glowing in response as well. The warm up gloves are coming off. “XV-mon, Super Digivolve to…AreoVeedramon!""Arresterdramon, Super Digivole to...Arresterdramon Superior Mode!”
The twins thundered across the ground, their gaze focused on WarPteramon. As for the still hidden Scorpmon, his time for hiding was just about over. Outstretching his wings as he slowly flew up, Gummy bellowed, focusing his energy until it formed a ball of energy on top of him. “Crimson Bolide!” The energy expelled into numerous fire bullets, scorching most of the battlefield. He made sure not to accidentally let his hit either Justice or Tadayoshi. No need to turn either of them into flaming shish kebab. Besides, if Scorpmon wants to keep hiding, then he was going to force him out, even if his attack hit him or not. He can’t snipe from a hiding spot if everything’s on fire. With Vee, a toothy grin appeared on his face. He was getting fired up now. Now the real battle can begin. Summoning two energy blades on both wrists, he fly right at WarPteramon, aiming to slice and dice him. Combat Log:
Vee narrowly dodges WarPteramon's Vee Laser.
Justice slides a card, allowing Vee to use Vee Lazer to attack WarPteramon. With help from Gummy, Vee and him were able to escape the epicenter of Bombing Run and behind a tall, rocky structure, shielding them from most from the blast, getting a couple of burn marks here and there.Gummy took Silent Snipe to the shoulder while moving Vee out of the way, unintentionally protecting Vee from getting hit. Whoosh! No dice! Justice's return laser just sailed off into the sky. The jet was too fast, and it came and went behind her. So, too, did Vee's Twisted Saber, though that was a much closer, less comfortable miss. WarPteramon was flying level at the time of the slash, but with a sudden bank of the wings she rotated her frame ninety degrees, becoming slimmer outward and taller inward, for the moment of the strike. Those swords hit nothing but air. "Sure doesn't seem so special to me!" Like her superior, she thought mind games would have an effect (no matter their Tamers' claims to the contrary). True, she wasn't there to witness the original fight, but those who were had planned this sort of psychological warfare ahead of time. Her maneuver knocked a couple more screws loose, and by now her injury had become a constant throbbing. However, it was starting to subside.
The eagle's confidence soared. "Do you always need your brother to bail you out? What was he doing last time, then?" But no matter how emotionally charged her talk was, she was still keeping her head. They know they can't touch me if they don't chase me, she noted. I can try to set up a shot!
The sniper was apparently doing a bang-up job executing his preferred method of engagement: long-distance, silent. The twins had switched targets, it seemed, but neither one ever looked directly at his direction for long. He noticed. So when Gummy started popping off firebombs at random, Scorpmon knew, He's not even aiming at me. He's shooting blind. It seemed like Gummy was trying to raze the entire battlefield, but the problem was there wasn't a whole lot to catch. With more brown and grey than green in the area, most of the purple dragon's efforts ended in a smidge of smoke, a lot of embers, and a whole lot of scorching, but there was precious little sustained fire. The rock wouldn't catch or burn.
But that didn't mean everything was rosy for the captain. He thought he was in good cover, tucked away in a rocky crevice, but one fireball punched a hole through the stone and whizzed right over his shoulder. The sniper gasped in surprise but was otherwise unharmed. Without a raging blaze, Gummy had to rely on chance to hit his foe blindly, and that just didn't work out.
That Gumdramon was wounded, yes, but he still trouble. Scorpmon ejected his earlier spent shell and loaded in a new one. This one, however, was a different kind of ammo: high velocity, armor piercing. It could take the hat off a Snatchmon at 2,000 yards... and they ain't cheap. To lay down a new shot, the sniper poked his barrel out from his current, singed cover, which was the only way he could fire upwards at this foe. His scope trained on Gumdramon's torso. I've had enough of you. As one finger caressed the trigger, he caught WarPteramon zooming past. He stayed his hand another split-second. Time this just right...
Suddenly, he heard the lieutenant's voice boom out, "Fire!" He did. Bang! Oh, boy, there was nothing silent about that shot! It echoed off the valley hills and upwards for multiple seconds. The soldier was aiming primarily for Gumdramon, but ideally - with WarPteramon's help - the sniper would be able to hit two targets with one bullet. He tried to shoot upward from the low ground at the trajectory with the right time for this round to not only strike Gummy right through the torso but have the round rip right through him with enough velocity remaining to tear through his brother as well.
If the twins couldn't find Scorpmon before, that bang and flash would sure be hard to conceal. Scorpmon had to get mobile again, else possibly get pounded. He took off running, across the valley, not entirely sure where he could make a new hide. All he knew was he'd make darn sure to avoid rockslide-prone areas. As the only land-bound digimon in this fight right now, that was a priority.
That was when it was finally a good time to use another card. Recognizing they'd finished their move, Tadayoshi made his. "Digi-Modify! MagnaAngemon's Gate of Destiny, activate!"
"Now get off my tail!" WarPteramon absolutely approved of this move. She was getting real tired real fast of getting chased around like a game of cat and mouse (at least, so long as she was the mouse). Her pursuer had a big chance to run straight into a trap, especially at the speeds these two were pushing. Tadayoshi hoped it would take some inconceivable reaction time to fly through it unscathed. In the middle of airspace, the Gate of Destiny was summoned and opened just behind her and shot its beam backwards at the AeroVeedramon chasing her. If it didn't hit, well, at least it would hopefully keep the twins on their heels. The message he wanted to send was that they must either pull back and be cautious or be punished for their preferred direct approach.
"Do you want to know what I really think about you, Justice?" If the uppity loudmouth wanted to keep playing the mind game, that was fine by Yoshi. He and his ilk were just too disciplined to fall into their own game, he thought. Was Justice? He called across the valley, "Nothing. I don't think about you at all."

Despite the Arresterdramon's rain of hell across the battlefield, it did little to create the burning, hell blazing battlefield that he originally envisioned in his mind. Only burned, cratered holes that were about 4 meters in diameter riddled the battlefield. There were some vegetation like cactus, shrub, and brittlebush that had caught on fire, but due to how spare it was, it did little to make a difference. On top of that, it didn't seemed like his attack did nothing to draw Scrorpmon out. "Stuff like this is exactly why I hate to fight Digimon that like to sit on their asses," Gummy said to himself, rolling his eyes in frustration. At the same time, the WarPteramon dodged Vee's rapid saber slash as she used her wings and banked suddenly, making the AreoVeedramon hit nothing but air. Credit where credit is due, he was at a slight disadvantage with the mechanical Digimon's speed. It didn't discourage him in the slightest; it just made him want to try harder. That was of course until the she made a snide remark on his brother's actions from earlier, insulting the two of them and bringing up their previous encounter with Tadayoshi's team before in which Gummy was critically injured. He stopped chasing after her and paused, thinking about all those weeks ago. To WarPteramon, it seemed like her words had got to him. He lifted his head. "Yeah, I did fail to protect my little bro the last time," he responded. "But, thanks to him and my Tamer. I learned from my failure, and I grew stronger because of it. And yeah, we may fight time to time, he bails me out time to time, but so do I. That's what it means to be a family; to know someone in this world has your back no matter what.To you, something like that is either trivial or stupid. But to me, family's everything. As long as he got my back, I got his. I'm not about to let your cold-hearted words sway me from the one cause that pushes me to keep fighting!"Just then, a loud, cracking gunshot noise came from the distance as it echoed across the valley, the sound being as clear as day. Having a feeling that the shot was aimed at his brother, the AreoVeedramon rushed towards his brother as fast as he could. He wasn't about to let history repeat itself. Not again. "Wind Guardian!" A gust of wind started to circle around him. Reaching the Arresterdramon, he got in front of him just in time as the high velocity bullet came into close contact with Gummy. The bullet then started to rotate around the windshield, before being deflected off into the open sky of the virtual arena. Vee glanced at his younger brother. "I guess now we're even then, huh?"Gummy nodded. "I guess so."Without wasting anytime, the two then gave chased to WarPteramon, who in response activated yet another card, summoning a gate which shot out a fireball at Vee. Rather than try to avoid it, the AreoVeedramon did not react to it, and the wind shield around him deflected the attack it was nothing. Hearing Vee's speech just now made Justice somewhat overwhelmed with emotions. A few tears came down his face before he wipe them with his sleeve. There were two things that he didn't expect: for his Digimon to pour his heart out like that, and two, for him to actually cry. He hadn't shed tears in so long that the feeling of it was almost alien to him. Tadayoshi then insulted Justice, saying that he didn't think nothing of him at all. Hearing that, the young man was ready to snap back at him, just like what happened earlier, but not before realized that he was still holding Vee's scarf in his hands. Looking at it, he closed his eyes for a few moments and begun to breathe slowly. Deep breaths, Justice. Deep breaths. Keep your head cool. Don't go playing the fool. After that, he turned to the Xros General, meeting his eyes. "The feeling's mutual," Justice remarked. With that, it was time to use a new card. Seeing that the twins were giving chase to the mechanical Digimon, who was faster than them when he came to flight speed, he slash another card across the D-ARC. Feeling the energy of a WereGarurumon coursing through him, Vee then unleashed a loud roar from his vocal chords. The sound of which being so loud that it would disorient their aerial foe. Justice then signal his Digimon with his index finger, spinning it around. Seeing this, Gummy would circle around til he met his opponent in the face. Once there, he created illusions of himself that would further discombobulate their already confused opponent, before each clone, including himself, would slash at her once by one with his Tail Anchor. The plan was simple: take down the support, then go after the hard hitter. Combat Log:Vee rushes to Gummy's aid and cast Wind Guardian around himself, getting in front of Gummy just a split second before the Arresterdramon would be gorged by High-Velocity Penetrator. - Wind Guardian: Forms a temporary wind shield around himself that deflects ranged attacks launched at him. Knockback up to those Ultimate level or below. Reduces damage from Megas by 50%. Lasts for about two turns. Two post cooldown. Vee's Wind Guardian deflects WarPteramon's Gate of Destiny.Justice slides his third card, allowing Vee to use Full Moon Howl to either stun or disorient WarPteramon. Gummy then attacks WarPteramon with Prism Garret. - Prism Garrett: Creates illusions of himself that surrounds and slash the opponent at once. Causes moderate Bleeding Effect (Damage over Time) that lasts for three turns. Three-post cool down . Active Passive:I'm Getting Excited!" - (Explained in the previous post)Two turns remain before cool down. Combat Passive:Dragon's Armor- Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.

Heartwarming. But the arena is no place for monologues. WarPteramon thought that but didn't say it. What was the point? If Vee was as resolute as he said, it was pointless to go on with these psyops. If he wasn't... the world would see.
Back to the loop and pass pattern. No, wait- it was a circle pattern. But wouldn't that-? Wait, the captain was supposed to- "Aaaah!" The jet kept on trucking through the hits, but that was unfortunately right on target. WarPteramon good timing, maneuvering, and a small card trick all led to a good gash on the fighter jet's wing almost exactly where she had been cut last time. But this one was obviously deeper, wider, and longer. The similarity? It still shook wires and mechanical parts loose, though now many more of them. "Ngh..." Forget the pattern. She just had to run! She strained her engines and attempted to lose her pursuers instead of leading them now.
With all her speed, she began to pull up and ascend straight upwards, high as she could get. The problem with that was that aerial maneuvering and general disorientation didn't go very well together. She couldn't pull up sharply enough to avoid some cliffs, and they ended up scraping underneath her - just surface level scratches, but also a show of the effect on her otherwise impeccable flight. But WarPteramon still had something going for her: her training. Fly toward the sun. The jet digimon angled herself to fly in the direction of the sun, and though she waved around a bit erratically she was at least able to fly generally straight toward an obvious light source. Hopefully this meant the sun shined directly in the eyes of her pursuers. In order to aim at WarPteramon, these two would have to look straight into the bright sun. Something's wrong. Tadayoshi recognized it as she scraped herself. WereGarurumon. Alright, Justice... you've already decided turnabout is fair play. Hang in there, Lieutenant. Fwip! "Digi-Modify! WereGarurumon's Full Moon Howl!"
If the twins were following their strategy of chasing down the support jet, they might have both been at risk of getting caught in the sonic range of WarPteramon's howl. "Awooooooooo!" The soundwaves channeled themselves equally in all directions without any valley walls to echo them.
She's no good for a precise attack in that state. It stinks, but she'll just have to hold them off a little longer. Tadayoshi's eyes darted to Scorpmon. Interesting choice to leave him alone. They must have been able to lock him down by now, right? Well, without either dragon on his back, the captain finally had some free time. In haste, he ducked behind stone that was about his chest height and dropped to one knee. Now he was shorter than the rock, but he could also deploy his bipod and lay it on the stone's top. That gave him a very steady surface on which to aim, and dropping to one knee allowed him to more easily aim up. But now wasn't the time; the trick of flying into the sun was working on him, too. Besides, he had just done a lot of running. He had to get his heart rate back down.
Calm... she can take care of herself. Scorpmon's right eye caught the silhouette of Gumdramon, though. Target locked. Tracking. A HUD in front of his eye began to electronically track his altitude, airspeed, average movement angle, and even added a holographic projection of predicted future movement path possibilities. Yes, Scorpmon had chosen a target, and that target could no longer escape his gaze. For now, Scorpmon just followed the enemy through his scope as best he could. In the air, WarPteramon's newest wound was really smarting. There was no way to confuse her out of that fact. Gotta... gotta stop... gotta fix... Her head was so light. Her ears were ringing like alarm bells. Purge... D-Delta... No, that wasn't right. It wouldn't come to her. What was that move called? It wouldn't- "Delta Purge!" Suddenly, all over herself Jetmon's body lit up with lights. They seemed to blink erratically in about every color on the rainbow for a couple seconds. The pattern concluded with a wave of bright green light washing over her from nose to tip. Then... nothing. Was it just a light show? No, and by the size of that last gash it was probably hard to miss what just happened: as the wave of green light washed over Arresterdramon Superior's last wound, perhaps the twins noticed that the wound closed. Oh, that's so much better! Her auto-repair systems didn't really repair any internal damage in this case, but a hasty, visible patch job closed off the wound. At least it would spare her further part loss. Tadayoshi gave his rival human the side-eye glare. Fine. No more talk. Let the bullets do the talking. Actions:
WarPteramon was afflicted by Full Moon Howl. WarPteramon was hit by Prism Garret. WarPteramon scraped herself on some cliffs, making her take a basic attack's worth damage.
Tadayoshi activated WereGarurumon (Gold). WarPteramon used Full Moon Howl. -Full Moon Howl: The target Digimon howls like WereGarurumon, stunning their foe or leaving them disorientated.

Each blow from Gummy's clones would slice WarPteramon repeatedly, some of them even cutting the same spot where he had strike previously. Whereas before, that attack was just a long slash wound, but this one was a laceration wound, with a jagged looked with bolts and wires coming out. Gummy could only wince as he saw the injury. If his opponent wasn't mechanical, it would have been a pretty messy sight to see. Him and Vee would be in pursuit as WarPteramon flew away from them with all of her might. But even so, she was still disoriented from that last card, so she would end up nearly crashing among some rock formations and cliffs as a result. But still, they could tell that she wasn't going to let that slow her down. She then angled herself upwards, flying up to where the hot beating sun was at. Seeing this, the twins stop their pursuit and shielded their eyes, not wanting to go blind. From what they could barely see, they could only make out only her figure in the process. Not knowing what she was planning, Vee decided to stay where he was at, wanting to keep his distance. Gummy on the other hand, was not keen on standing around...or hovering in the air for that matter. "You think a little sunlight's gonna stop me?" The Arrestdramon aggressively questioned. He then started to fly at her, preparing to attack. Unfortunately, his opponent would emit a loud howl in response, the same card that Justice had used just now. Gummy, being the impatient Digimon that he ended up getting caught in her range. His vision started to get disoriented as he forgot what he was trying to do. Did I hit her, or not? Gummy thought, grabbing his head in confusion. Vee on the other hand, was at the minimal safe distance from WarPteramon. He only rolled his eyes in response to his brother's impatient-ness. "Really, Gummy?" Justice commented, sighing at what he just saw. To the AreoVeedramon's surprise, WarPteramon would heal her wounds with a self repair system. He hates to admit it, it was kind of genius to have a first-aid. It tells him that they came prepared. But that gaping wound was still visible. He took a mental note of that, just in case if things get tricky later. But for right now, his main concern was trying to find a way on how to get his opponent into a position away from the sun. Seeing this, Justice started to formulate an idea. Shuffling through his cards, he noted that he only had four remaining in his deck. Justice had to be careful on which one to use. Otherwise, he'll just be wasting cards on pointless attacks and maneuvers and it'll seem like he desperate to his opponent, and he didn't want that. Finding a card that suited this situation, Justice immediantly slashed it across his D-ARC. Once again, Vee felt foreign Digi-code coursing through him. This time it was a Guardromon. A mounted wrist launcher materialized on his wrist. Using one arm to cover parts of the sun so he could see his opponent, he took aim with his other, and titled slightly to the right. "Destruction Grenade!" A slew of missiles fired from his wrist launcher at a rapid pace, each of them heading at WarPteramon's direction. For someone of her caliber, the majority of them would be easy for her to dodge, but that's exactly what he wanted her to do... If she fell for it, she would become distract at trying to dodge the many missiles heading her way. After that, she'll no longer be in front of the sun. The AreoVeedramon would then make his move, angling himself and diving 90 degrees towards the ground, then flying right back up, heading straight for her from behind. Once she realized he was gone, she would have little time to react, as Vee would grapple her with both arms. Holding the mechanical Digimon tight, Vee would begin a spinning motion, propelling WarPteramon headfirst towards the ground in a pile driver move. But that didn't end there. Once on the ground, Vee would retreat a couple of paces back before shooting powerful heat blast from his mouth , wanting to deal additional damage. For Gummy on the other hand, he would slowly descend to the ground, a bit better from before but still not totally hundred percent. He didn't know what was going on, but something was definitely happening. Making out a rock structure with his distorted vision, he ducked under for some cover. He knew that Scropmon was still out there, so he wanted to get into cover as much as possible so he didn't see him. He still felt uneasy, however... Combat Log:Gummy gets caught in the radius of WarPteramon's Full Moon Howl, disorienting him.Justice slashes his fourth card, allowing Vee to use Destruction Grenade. If WarPteramon got distracted on dodging the missiles, Vee would fly right behind to her blindspot, grappling her, then pile driving her to the ground.Vee attacked WarPteramon with Vee Breath Arrow, wanting to deal additional damage. Vee Breath Arrow - Shoots out a V-shaped heat beam from his mouth that can incinerate an opponent. Two post cooldown.

What a dunce. Gummy went and fell right for a trap - again! You need more training. Doesn't he understand? Didn't either of them ever catch on? Zoom! WarPteramon went and left Gummy in the dust. You're not chasing me. You're following my lead. You're playing right into our talons!
Missiles? Missiles? Actually, missiles were about a jet's worst nightmare, but these champion-level projectiles weren't much of a bother. They were slow and probably didn't carry the yield to make-or-break the match. Still, it was the right idea to get out of their way. Why would she not? An easy dodge had to be the right maneuver, right? The eagle rolled to one side and leveled out of her rapid ascension, even descending a little at a pretty easy angle. The missiles all exploded, but not one was close enough to be a threat. Next strikes comes from-
Clang! and "Unh!" were the sounds of an armored dragon colliding with the metal eagle midair. "You got above me?" Obviously this Jet digimon wasn't exactly built for grappling. She was not going to shake off Vee. Maybe she would have managed it with G-forces at another attack angle, but that perfect perpendicular angle helped drive her downward where gravity could reclaim its hold on her. The pair was going down, but maybe not as quickly as Vee hoped. WarPteramon's obviously superior speed and agility were due in part to her powerful engines. The lieutenant couldn't fight both Vee and gravity and win, but that didn't mean she was helpless.
Exhaust continued to spurt out of her feet, and she tried to tilt her body slightly forward, using her wings to catch the wind. While still undeniably falling, the pair also began to glide forward. The fall was slightly slowed and its direction partly under the lieutenant's control. "Impact!" WarPteramon shut her eyes and mouth as her belly kissed the rocky ground. She slid forward several dozen feet, and the squeal of rock scraping metal was damn near unbearable even to her. When she finally came to a stop, she grunted, aching. Still, she was in the fight. You... you're still being led!
During the fall, Scorpmon just couldn't take his scope off of Gumdramon. What a tempting, vulnerable target - already wounded once by an attack over his level and now completely isolated. But before he could take the shot, a couple of
huge digimon crash-landed very close to him. He ducked down, but he wasn't in any real danger except for getting a little dusty. He proceeded to wipe himself off while he peered around the corner to find WarPteramon, lying still, about to get blasted. Still, he couldn't stop the attack himself. He knew that, unfortunate as it was. He went back to his locked target... but soon his view was blocked by the AeroVeedramon, the blue dragon having stepped back a little. His scope, however, continued to show him Gummy's outline behind his brother. She didn't!
You know what, kid? WarPteramon had to pretend to brag, We had a word for what you got back in the Guard. They call it target fixation. AeroVeedramon's mouth began to glow. Sometimes an aerial fighter can get so hyperfocused on their target, so obsessively fixated- Vee spat, and WarPteramon didn't move to stop it. "Gyah!" She was definitely feeling her wounds now. -they fly right into it and crash.
This is his best chance! Tadayoshi slid a card through his reader, but this time he went and turned it outward toward Justice just to make sure the Tamer knew how screwed to the wall he was about to be. "Digi-Modify! Uranusmon's Halo Halo!" For the first time since the match began, Tadayoshi's card wasn't for WarPteramon alone. Both of Tadayoshi's digimon began to glow white and became encased in a ring of holy white light. This was a Chrome Digizoid card boosting both digimon's overall capabilities exponentially.
"Now! Knock 'em down, sir!"
Bang! Oh, by Yggdrasil, what a beautiful shot! The purple dragon was the primary target, but WarPteramon intentionally maneuvered her landing close to the captain, close enough that the sharp upward angle required to aim at Gummy also put AeroVeedramon potentially along the round's trajectory. Even better, Scorpmon's HUD was analyzing Gummy's armor and pointing him towards all its weakest points to shoot. Did Gummy have a chance? Scorpmon was getting real-time wind, distance, and altitude updates, even outlines of directions he may attempt to dodge along with percentage chances of each one being attempted from his tracking sight. WarPteramon expertly set up and called the shot. Now there was an additional mega-level boost, heightening both the sniper's senses and damage. No, the captain was very, very confident that at least one twin was about to be neutralized.
The sniper began to flee the scene again as suddenly as WarPteramon took off again. No, she was feeling the pain, but she wasn't ready to fold just yet. After she looped around, she flew over the running sniper and shouted at him, "Package coming down!" She dropped something in his path. A bomb on her own team mate? No, it was a little box, and it fell to earth safely thanks partially to the aid of a parachute. Scorpmon caught it in the middle of his running and continued to sprint away from the uncomfortably close AeroVeedramon. The captain tucked it away into one pouch without stopping while his lieutenant zoomed past him. "My thanks, Lieutenant!"
Actions:
WarPteramon was driven to the ground by Vee. -Thrusting upward with her engines reduced the fall speed and some of the damage. WarPteramon was hit by Vee Breath Arrow.
Tadayoshi activated Uranusmon (Chrome Digizoid)'s Halo Halo effect on WarPteramon and Scorpmon. -Halo Halo: A magnificent glowing ring spreads from around the target Digimon, inspiring fear and awe in any who look upon them. For a single post, all allied Digimon's combat abilities are improved substantially.
Scorpmon aimed primarily at Gummy with Perfect Shot. Vee was somewhat satisfied to see his attacks landed as intended, though he had hoped that his pile driver move would have impacted more had WarPteramon not used the engine on her talons to alleviate the impact of the fall. He wanted to crash into one of the tall rock formations to do some more damage, but not everything plans out the way it's intended; he still has to account for his opponent's resourceful-ness on top of that. But still, he and his brother wanted to give these two a fight to remember, regardless of their opinions of them. Gummy meanwhile, was starting to feel a lot better now. The ringing in his ears finally stopped, the nausea was gone, and he can tell which was left and which was right. He just needed a couple of seconds to get his head together. "Tch! I walked right into that one," he growled. He was being too impatient to see that WarPteramon was baiting him so he would get discombobulated. Well now he was looking to return the favor But something bothered the AreoVeedramon: why did she made them land here specifically? Sure it was to avoid the additional damage from the rock formations, but here, out in an open area without any densely compacted geography besides from the one that his brother was coming out of In front of him. Maybe it was a controlled landing, or maybe...this was all planned out ahead of time! "Oh no..." he uttered, rearing his head to his right and seeing a glint of light reflecting off of the scope of Scorpmon, who was about several dozen feet from him. Getting scared, he impulsively flew out of his range. If things weren't already bad enough, the wind aura around him started to dissipate, leaving him unable to swoop in and shield his brother again unless he wanted to take that blow from himself. "GUMMY, GET OUT OF THE WAY! HE HAS YOU IN HIS SIGHTS!"Not knowing what to do, Justice frantically slid a card through his D-ARC, not knowing which card was right for this situation. He didn't care what it was: whether it'd be a blast, spawning a weapon, whatever.Gummy was in critical danger of getting hit. Whatever it was, it needed to help Gummy, and now! It was only a few seconds. The Xros General slid another card, and both of their opponents became encased in a white light white. WarPteramon ordered her ally to fire at will The twins could feel massive amounts of energy coming from his rifle, coming close or even surpassing a Mega, and in the Scropmon's advance crosshairs was the Arresterdramon Superior Mode. Three...
From Gummy's perspective, he could only hear the muted screams from both his brother and his Tamer who were crying out in agony. Were they calling his name, or telling him to get out of the way? He didn't know. He could feel massive amounts of energy coming from his rifle, coming close or even surpassing a Mega, and what was escaping the muzzle was heading right towards him. The world around him was becoming all black and white. Is this it for me? he thought to himself. Is this where my story ends... underneath the boots of these guys? Will my short life come to an end here, in a tournament of all places?
Two... Memories started to flash in his mind. Memories of him and his brother when they were In-Trainings, causing pranks and mischiefs in the Village of Beginnings--memories of the day he and his brother met Justice and were introduced to the Human World: a world initially beyond his understanding--memories of him meeting Bezil. Was he watching the fight? He didn't know. He hoped not. If he saw him like this, Sovereigns knows now he'll react. Regardless of what happens to him, he was done for. He'll just be known as a failure, and that's it. One...
Vee... Justice... I... "DON'T GIVE UP GUMMY! YOU CAN DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN!"
He opened his eyes, his fighting spirit reigniting to life. A golden, oriented gauntlet with a purple sword quickly materialized on his gloved wrist. Not knowing how to use a sword, he hastily positioned the edge of the blade in front his body, not fully knowing how he'll block this attack as Scorpmon pulled the trigger. Zero...
The edge of the sword and the piercing bullet collided as the two objects met. A wind tunnel started to form around him due to the sheer output of the collision. So much raw energy was emulating from the bullet that it made the Arresterdramon skid across the ground a couple of spaces before he gained a footing, firmly placing his feet on the ground. Sparks and energy started to fly everywhere as a result, creating somewhat of a visual spectacle. "HAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The ground beneath him started to crack and crumble, his feet immediately sinking to the ground as a result. Gummy started to feel himself slowly moving again. The central ridge of the holy blade started to crack the more he resisted. The attack Scorpmon unleashed alone was enough to take out a Royal Knight if they let their guard down. As much as he wanted to slice the bullet clean in half, it was too powerful, even for him. It felt like he was buying time to prevent the inevitable. “I...can’t...take it..!” he muttered. Before he could be pushed back even further and eventually give in however, he felt a hand on his shoulder as his movement came to a complete stop. He turned his head around and saw Vee behind him, a nervous smile appearing on his face as the tears in his eyes were blown away by the wind. With Gummy in the front and Vee in the back supporting him, the twins let out a loud roar as they desperately attempted to overpower the bullet. The holy sword quickly showed cracks the more they struggled. Using all of his might, Gummy finally mustered all of his strength to finally cleave the bullet in two. The two halves of the bullet split off from across them, so fast in fact that they didn't even realize that the fragments grazed their faces, penetrating and bringing down multiple rock formations, leaving nothing but small, hot scorching holes in its wake. The holy sword on his wrist finally shattered with chunks and pieces of the blade hitting the ground. The twins started to pant heavily, grunting in pain. Red data seeping down their faces as they were left utterly bewildered at what they just accomplished. The pain unlike anything they ever felt, despite it not actually penetrating either of them. The Arresterdramon glared at Scorpmon. The fact that Scorpmon was willing to use such a lethal move on him made his digi code boil up. If things had gone the other way, he could have potentially lost his life if he decided to brush it off like the last attack.. So Gummy ignored what could have been, stood up straight, and inhaled. “Did you think that was enough?” he questioned them, clenching his fists “IT’S NEVER ENOUGH!!”
Getting up on their feet, the twins immediately ran, taking flight to charge at them. They started to spin around each other, each of them charging up their respective attacks. They wanted to confuse their opponents on which one of them was attacking who. After reaching a certain distance, Vee went off to WarPteramon’s direction Gummy went off to Scorpmon’s. “Vee Wing Blade!” Two V-shaped energy blades shot out from his wings, one aiming at the mechanical Digimon’s center-mass, and one of her wings. For Gummy, his Tail Anchor emitted a dark blue flame as he charged at the sprinting Scorpmon. He noted that the Digimon put something in one of his pouches. Whatever it was, it can’t be good for either of them. “Archivolt!” The Arresterdramon started to spin in a 360 degree rotation, the spin amplifying the flames on his tail, aiming to slash at Scorpmon and whatever he had in his pocket. After what happened just now, he was taking no more risks. If his opponent wanted to keep an eye on him so much, then it would be “polite” if he did the same. Combat Log:Wing Guardian dissipated. At the last second, Justice uses his fifth card, allowing Gummy to use Excalibur. With the support of Vee from behind and a particular Gumdramon in his psyche (Bezil) , Gummy narrowly manages to slice Perfect Shot it two, the fragments grazing the two on the face as a result Excalibur - The target Digimon summons MagnaAngemon's sword and strikes their foe with it. Did Vee believe that WarPteramon was going to sit and wait while the brothers had their mushy little moment? Was she supposed to hover in place to entertain' Gummy's childish little game of impersonating an anime protagonist? Absolutely not. This was real life. WarPteramon didn't even have to dodge; soon as she dropped her package, they tried to confuse her, but all she had to do was speed off to get all the distance she could ask for, the cost of a delayed but predictable attack. Vee's blades sailed wide.
Likewise, Scorpmon was already in motion by the time the twins at long last tried to chase him down. However, Gummy managed to catch the sniper at a highly opportune moment, one while he was exposed and in motion. Successfully seizing on this weakness. Gummy's aerial superiority over Scorpmon's earthbound mobility helped him catch up to the marksman digimon and, finally, managed to wound him. He dove as Gummy whipped his tail, but that blade still left a nasty gash in his upper back, causing him to hiss and clench his weapon tightly in tense fists.
Well, that wouldn't do. He didn't want to use it this early, but Scorpmon dug the package out and squeezed it. He couldn't risk anything happening to it. It disintegrated, but that slash was all closed up when his data finished stitching itself back together.
No more of that nonsense. Scorpmon intended to go straight back to not getting hit. He was about to reactivate his Digi-ghillie ability when he heard Yoshi shout across the valley, "Back to me!" For WarPteramon's sake, he also held up one finger and spun it in a circle repeatedly, a hand signal to regroup on him. The jet waved her wings to acknowledge before approaching for a landing. Scorpmon got up and ran as fast as he could, determined to reach Tadayoshi before Gummy could prepare another attack. Next to Tadayoshi, with the rest of the team on reserve, there was no way the twins could do anything. They'd never risk inadvertently striking at the boy himself... right? Hopefully, because much like the attempted confusion attack, this coming procedure needed time. "Orders?"
"All defuse!" The combo sniper and jet combination became a gaggle of digimon once again thanks to the noble light of Tadayoshi's aqua Xros Loader. "I need Commandramon, Jetmon, Alpha through Hotel."
"Sir."
"Yes, sir!"
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.
"Digi-Xros!" Those ten digimon all combined into... an absolute titan. This was no elusive sniper. This digimon had to ascend quickly, because the gargantuan zeppelin of war was seriously at risk of simply crushing everyone in the valley if he didn't.
"Blimpmon!"
"Hagurumon, Deckerdramon, you, too!"
"Ready."
"A-again?"
"Digi-Xros!"
This unit, too, was aerial. It was obvious: Tadayoshi wasn't going to let his opponents have the air advantage and leave one of his units landlocked again. "Helomon!" This digimon, too, shared the injuries of their predecessor thanks to the magic of virtual space and special rules to keep Silence from just winning every fight through attrition.
"Oh, heck, no, I ain't missin' this action!" As the helicopter digimon's rotors spun up, Dakota the Strabimon ducked under the blades and vaulted into the passenger cabin. Rather than taking a seat, he primed one of the chainguns on the side and grinned jovially, his many sharp teeth showing as he cackled with glee. To make himself heard now, he had to shout as loud as his lungs would manage, "I have always wanted to use these things!"
"Wait for me!" Dakota wasn't alone. Angel the impulsive BlackTerriermon wanted in on this party, too. The problem was Helomon was already getting off the ground to rejoin the battle. But she jumped, and between her very long ears and Dakota pulling them up with one paw, she was still able to mount the vehicle as well. She took the other gun, laughing maniacally. "Five hundred bits if you nail one in the eye!"
"Honey, I'd do it for free!"
"Please stop talking like that, you two..."
Both digimon knew full well that a smart opponent would make their move as soon as the altitude was safe above the humans, though. Silence wanted theirs to be first. "Chopper Saw!" Whatever it is Gummy was expecting, it probably wasn't for an attack helicopter with mounted gunners to charge right at him! But as the vehicle tilted forward, those blades whirred threateningly and threatened to really bring the pain to him. What could be weirder than armed air attack vehicles resorting to a ramming attack right off the bat? Two armed attack vehicles resorting to ramming! "Zeppelin Zip!" A whole lot of metal started to zoom at Gummy as soon as Helomon passed, and all that massive force came to bear at the tip of a long, sharp spike. So what if Gummy difused a big finisher? "If you two want to win this fight," Blimpmon goaded, "You're going to need something a lot more than a mere miracle!"
"Tell 'em, top!" Tadayoshi encouraged. The pressure on Gummy sure wasn't off yet! No, he was the more seriously wounded of the brothers still, and this team was determined to finish the job. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Swipe! "Digi-Modify! Valkyrimon's Lightning Arrow!"
Helomon's mounted chainguns began to glow and crackle with electricity. "Oh, I'm gonna enjoy this!" When Dakota held the triggers, the barrels began to spin, a half-second later, they were firing off not minigun rounds but a volley of arrows made of lightning that arced toward the purple dragon.
"Leeroooooooooooooooy..." Angel's gun, too, was one to worry about as its guided arrows hailed Gummy as well. "...Jeeeeeeeeenkinnnnnnns!" "Oh, is that how you use that?" "I don't frickin' know!" "You two are enjoying this far too much!"
If one boosted finishing move wouldn't drop that dragon, maybe a barrage of pressure ending in a mega-level surge of guided arrows would finish it.
Vee Wing Blade missed WarPteramon.Scorpmon was hit by Archivolt. Scorpmon healed himself with Parcel Drop. Scorpmon defused and was replaced by X3 Blimpmon (essentially a slide evolution). WarPteramon defused and was replaced by X3 Helomon (essentially a slide evolution). Vee would watch his opponent's reaction to his two shots carefully. It wasn't really a surprise to him that she had the slight advantage when it came to aerial maneuvers, and was expecting her to dodge them. But eventually, she was going to tire herself out like that. And despite her patching those wounds up earlier, it was still a visible target for the both of them to utilize in their advantage when the going gets tough. Unlike his opponents, he was an honorable fighter because he believed in fairness. But with these guys, they were just pushing his buttons. On the other hand, Gummy's slash attack would successfully connect with Scorpmon...finally. Despite him not getting send off by the full force of his tail, he had a pretty noticeable wound on his back. It was about time someone got him off his ass. Unfortunately for the Arresterdramon, he didn't aimed at where he wanted to: the mysterious package. In response to it, Scorpmon used it to heal himself as a result. Gummy had a feeling it was a healing item, so it didn't surprise him when he used it. Before both parties could continue however, Tadayoshi called both of his Digimon back, in which they responded, and promptly went back to him. The twins were surprised at this turn of events, but they would chase after them. Why? Because it would have been an asshole-ish thing to do. Besides, the Xros General was near them. Despite them having problems with him especially, they had no qualms with him, only their Digimon; Justice may have beef with him, but not them. Seeing this, Justice decided to do the same thing. "Vee, Gummy, come back to me!" The two Ultimates would fly across the battlefield and landed right in front of Justice. The Digimon then got one knee to listen to him closely. Looking at their Tamer, they could see a mix of relief and nervousness on his face. After a few moments, Justice finally cleared his throat. "Two things..." he said clutching the red scarf that the AreoVeedramon gave him before the battle began. "One, please don't do something that reckless ever again. You two scared me half to fucking death just now. And two...keep up the pressure. Try not to leave yourselves wide open for them to do some serious damage to you guys. If their too fast, either tank it, or help the other out. Clear?" "Yup.""I gotcha!"Both twins would return to the battlefield. After that, Tadayoshi and his army would then reveal what he's been planning. He combined the majority of his Digimon into a behemoth of opponent. The Digimon being so large that it's width alone stretched across the entire battlefield. The other two would combine into a helicopter Digimon of sorts, with two other Digimon mounting turrets on each side. Before Vee and Gummy could make the first move, their opponents decided to instead. But instead of attack Vee, both of them chose to attack Gummy instead. The first would catch Gummy off guard, since he didn't expect something like that to be charging at the speed of a Trailmon. The Arresterdramon put his hands up to guard his center mass, and braced for the attack head-on. The attack hit him, pain generating through his arms as he was hit and sliced with the blades several times. Despite that, he managed to leap out of the center of the propellers. He growled n pain, but still, it would have been more dangerous for him if he took the attack without any sort of defense. But that wasn't all, Blimpmon would charge at him with a sudden burst of speed, his nose spike aiming to piece him like butter. In response, Gummy used his wings for aerial recovery, and leaped over the charging zeppelin Digimon by preforming a summersault, gaining more elevation before landing on top of Bilmpmon. Judging by his appearance, he was built to be a tank with power. But when it came to speed, that was the thing his opponent was lacking. "And if you want to win, you'd stop underestimating us and treat us like actual equals for a change!" Gummy retorted. Helomon would then circle back around and use another card. This time, electric arrows would be the attack as it arch towards him with no assist whatsoever The Arresterdramon then respond by simply flying off of Blimpmon, the attacks shooting out into the distance. Gummy then took the opportunity to fly under Blimpmon's blind spot: his underside. Coating one hand with red flames and the other with blue, the Arresterdramon cupped his hands together. "Crimson Flare!" Immediately a large, destructive wave blast from his hands. Seeing all this, Vee again summoned two energy blades from his wrists; his opponents were so caught up with ganging up his bro that they seemed to be only focusing on him. No matter. He flew to attack Helomon from behind, "Going for their blind spots. Good job you two,"Justice commented. He swiped his sixth card. With that, Vee had the power of a Valkyrimon in him. "Hawk Inferno!" He launched a flaming hawk forward, aiming at Helomon's tail rotor. After that, he aimed to slash at the Digimon's hull. The attack helicopter Digimon was faster than expected yes, but his movements were too linear, and with linear movements means slower time to react. Combat Log:Gummy is hit by Chopper Saw. Gummy dodges Zeppelin Zip by leaping over him, landing on top of Blipmon.Gummy avoids Lightning Arrow by flying off of Blipmon, and then flies under him. Vee continues to keep up with the assault, attacking Helomon with Twister Sabers. Crimson Flare - Gummy coats one fist with red flames and the other with blue flams. Helomon, just pulling out of his forward charge, was vulnerable. At least he had a little support. "Incoming!"
Blimpmon reacted quickly. "Cannon Intercept!" Bang! Boom! Before that hawk collided with Helomon, it collided with an artillery shell that produced a concussive blast upon impact. Part of the fire dispersed into the air harmlessly - but not all of it. Helomon was still taking it in the tail rotor. "No, no, no, n- haaaagh!" The impact sent the helicopter spinning a little. Even more? Helomon was awfully close to that concussion blast. It threw them off course quite violently, though luckily there was nothing to hit in the air except, well, air. It might have saved their tail from more abuse, too, as a happy accident; Vee was relying on Helomon to move linearly, predictably, but in the chaos even they couldn't control their own movements. The Twisted Saber was out of luck.
"Wah, wah, aaah, I think I'm gonna be sick..." Angel gurgled.
"Not in front of the cameras, Angel!" Dakota chuckled.
"Not in my cabin, Angel!" Helomon shrilly objected as they steadied theirself out. Meanwhile, Yoshi was looking through his remaining cards. It wasn't taking long anymore; he was running out. I may as well get this one gone. Tadayoshi slashed one. "Digi-Modify! Bunny Blast, activate!"
"Bunny Blast!" This attack wasn't much to be scared of at this level. Would Gummy even feel it? Maybe not, but if he did it was more of a light breeze than anything else created by slightly faster whirl blades. Heck, it might have even been rather refreshing.
Silence put the pressure on, but they took it. Now we're losing momentum, and this combination is no good. Yoshi started shouting to his own team again.
After Helomon righted himself, a red laser beam began to pulse from him. It was thin and not at all damaging, but nevertheless he pointed it at Gummy. "Laser Paint!" A second one came out, too, and connected with Vee. What was it doing? Well, they might have noticed that as they moved, the laser was following them extremely well. A third and fourth laser beam, too, shot out at both brothers, meaning they were both being followed by two apiece - one to the center, and one to the face. Still, what was the point? They weren't being damaged. They were being tracked. Whoosh! When Helomon felt secure, a quartet of missiles launched, one missile for each beam. And they missiles were... cheering? "Whee!" They'd annoyingly scream like that until they ran into something, whether it was a digimon or the edge of the virtual space.
Hopefully they were too busy worrying about those annoying missiles to worry about Helomon dropping altitude and de-fusing. Tadayoshi recognized his miscalculation pretty quick: Blimpmon would be no good against an enemy right under him. Not for his strongest attacks, anyway, and not with two to worry about. Helomon wouldn't do well here without that covering fire either. Too bad he didn't bear that all in mind earlier, but it wasn't too late to fix. With the hand signal to regroup, they found themselves defusing again. "Thank you, sir." "Oh, thank Yggdrasil." "Back to what works. Digi-Xros!" This fusion was much faster than the first one. With a spare moment to shout the plan to those on the ground while the others were busy dodging missiles, this time they were able to able to execute the fusion like a well-rehearsed race track pit crew. WarPteramon was back in the fight. But the other digimon was new to the twins: the incomplete fusion Assaultmon. "Good choice, sir!" Click-click! Hopefully the twins didn't think they'd get to keep momentum on their side forever. Assaultmon was Tadayoshi's best hope, so he thought, at stopping that sort of thing in its tracks, even if a burn in his underbelly still stung. "Suppressive Fire!" Once both the centaur's chainguns spun up, both Vee and Gummy were in the danger zone. Holy crap, what a rate of fire, too! This wasn't an attack to just bob and weave away from; there were just too many bullets that just wouldn't stop. The twins could charge through and try to attack, or they could be evasive and hope Assaultmon's ammo was limited - but definitely not both. Not this time.
Once WarPteramon took off, the chase was on again. She was back to her old hit-and-run ways, making running away from the twins her priority. Problem was, she clenched her teeth with the new pain transferred over to her from Helomon through the virtual space. I don't get it! She seethed to herself, These two aren't even acting hurt! They aren't even acting winded! What in Yggdrasil's name is going on here? Actions:
