Alright, now that we’re down to a proper sixteen person bracket, let’s show the crowd what our simulators can really do! The GlacierOut over the ocean, Owen and Ophelia would both find themselves at a stark advantage and disadvantage. Ophelia might find herself right at home. The peaceful crunch of ice and snow underfoot would affirm that she was standing on a large, stable piece of ice. On the other hand, the battlefield was surrounded by the ocean… and, well, Owen was not standing on the same piece of ice that Ophelia was. This was not the arctic, but a glacier that had broken off the mainland. It had been some time, and now it had been reduced to several patches of ice, varying in size, carried along by the ocean’s current. The center of it all, directly between Owen and Ophelia, was dominated by a large, swirling whirlpool, eventually threatening to take the smaller pieces of ice between them. Even with advantages on the land or in the air, neither of them would really have a chance in the water. Owen vs Ophelia Owen Starts! After watching the first round of combat eagerly, Owen felt a small, cold feeling run up the fur on the back of his neck. Not just from the cold of the battlefield either. The Gaomon was ready to fight, his thick blue and white fur insulating him from the chill, although if he somehow ended up in the drink, it wouldn't be much use then.
Other than that, he had his wedding armlet on his left arm, his 7/71st insignia on his right. And he looked across the raging whirlpool in front of him to see who his opponent was - Ophelia the Spadamon.
"Good luck and fight well!" he called to her, although he wasn't sure he'd be able to be heard over the whirlpool. Still, he focused inward, letting memories of years of fighting and warfare fill his mind - the moments of crisis, the actions he had made from duty, the the feeling of data bursting from his digicore and initiating his evolution.
"Gaomon... warp-digivolve to...!" he cried, growing in size to over 10 feet tall. A futuristic looking suit covered his body, his fists turned to mechanical hands, a large metal sash covered his chest, and a jetpack array formed on his back, bursting with blue flame as it raised him from the icy ground.
"...MachGaogamon!" he finished as the evolution was complete. With that, he would not make an attacking move quite yet, but he wouldn't be idle either. While hovering in midair, he let loose a wild howl, a strange, aurora-like energy glowing over his body. As his howl ended, he looked Ophelia in the eye, his yellow eyes now glowing red as he prepared for the oncoming clash, preparing himself for what she would do in response.
Owen digivolves to MachGaogamon.
Owen uses Lunatic High on himself.
Lunatic High - Owen howls wildly, unleashing the power of the Nature Spirit within. For 3 turns, his strength and speed are increased by 30%, at the cost of him growing a very 'berserker' style mentality where he has to make efforts to stop attacking. [Cooldown: 3 turns].
Lunatic High duration: 0/3 turns.

The Glaciers... Already, Ophelia felt at home with the familiar crunch of the snow and ice beneath her paws, with the chill of the wind ruffling her thick coat of fur. She adjusted almost easily; her claws digging into the ice for traction, as she took in a deep breath - noting the scent of sea salt in the air. So they were out on the ocean, then...? The notion of taking a tumble into the water made her feel uncertain - ears tilting back the slightest back, and her tail stiffening briefly - but another's scent in the air, and what was likely their voice, would draw her attention before she dwelt upon it for long. Gazing across the waters, towards another glacier, Ophelia would easily spot Owen in his Gaomon form - and though it took a second, she would otherwise recognize him to be Hikaru's mate. It wasn't hard to figure that out; Owen and Hikaru's children carried tinges of their scents, and Hikaru's fur carried Owen's scent at almost all times - though she never really met him, until now, in this fight. As for his voice, it had nearly been drowned out by the sound of the crashing waves and the whirlpool, but she was used to having to communicate over howling winds - and so, picking out wasn't too hard. Taking a brief second to register his words - ears twitching - she would grin confidently in response, her tail beginning to swish. "Hell yeah!" She'd shout back - her voice carrying well for the same reasons that she was just able to hear him - as the glow of digivolution began to overtake her body. "Good luck to you, too - I want to see what you're all about!"Briefly, she couldn't help but wonder; how impressed Bu would be, if she'd be able to put up a good fight against her own father? Well, regardless of those thoughts, it wouldn't be long until her Panjyamon form would come together; the armor of her Spadamon and Himamon forms falling away in lieu of a thick coat of fur. In fact, her fur seemed to be thicker than most Panjyamon; making the musculature of the leonine digimon less apparent. Unlike Owen's own 10 feet, Ophelia was a little over half his height - standing at a decent 6'6''. The height disparity didn't seem to intimidate her at all, though - the tall lioness grinning widely and confidently - as she drew her Azure Fang; the hilt having resized itself properly for this new form of hers. And from the hilt, ice would form and crystallize together according to her mind's eye, in the shape of a large halberd! Ophelia would give the weapon a brief twirl in her hand as though it weighed nothing - and in a sense, it didn't; the ice was light, yet sturdy as could be between the artifact's nature, and Ophelia's own Cryokinesis. She'd easily transition from the twirl to gripping it in both hands, though; easily adapting to this new weapon as though it were second nature to her, or as though it were an extension of herself. As she heard the distant howl of Owen, though - now in his MachGaogamon form - her ears would prick upwards noticeably, and something about it would make her suck in a deep breath; her instincts of a wild digimon easily coming to the surface. Holding that deep breath for but a brief moment, a rumble would rise from her chest, before she began to let out a roar in response - a full-bellied roar that would make any lion proud a couple times over, something that would make the battle cries of her Spadamon and Himamon forms, and even the crashing of the waves, pale greatly in comparison. And as she roared, she would begin to charge; her halberd poised in both hands as she began leaping across the smaller platforms with feline grace, towards Owen! With each leap though, something would quickly become apparent, if Owen took the time to look; namely, the glisten that seemed to be forming over Ophelia's fur. It was as though the cold and frost of the air was beginning to cling to it; and in fact, even the sea spray of the crashing waves between the fragments of the glacier seemed to freeze over her fur! In response to Owen's own buffing of himself, Ophelia was increasing her own defense in preparation; all the whilst coming in close for an attack! Once Owen was in reach, Ophelia would have her halberd readied as she began to jab the sharp tip of hers at him like a spear; using the reach of the weapon both to close the distance a bit more easily, as well as to avoid putting her too close for a counterattack as she tested the waters in fighting him up-close!

Owen supposed it was because that he kept work and family life separate that he hadn't really met Ophelia in person. He had never really gotten himself involved in KIZNA business, outside of trivia that Hikaru would say when Owen asked how his day had been. But he knew of her reputation as a fierce fighter, and that his daughter rather liked her.
For a moment, Owen wondered who Bu would be rooting for in this fight. Her father or her girlfriend? Well... he supposed that that was an answer he was better off not knowing. They were opponents in a tournament, and Owen intended to fight to win. If he was bested, so be it. But he would not know how it would be until the fight was over.
As Owen evolved to MachGaogamon, he watched as Ophelia evolved to Panjyamon. A strong beast digimon that excelled with the element of ice. "Ahh..." he remarked to himself as he realized why this terrain was chosen. Both of them would have an advantage here.
After Owen finished his howl, he watched as Ophelia conjured a weapon from the ground - a halberd of ice. A deadly weapon, that he knew. A combination of a thrusting spear, bladed axe and an armor-piercing hook. But in the state he was in, Owen felt no fear at all. In fact he felt similar to how he was on the old battlefields of the DWR - in his role as a captain of the 7/71st Recon. All he could focus on was the opponent, and how to neutralize them.
The first thing he paid attention to, was the fact that he could fly and she couldn't - as far as he knew. That meant that he could keep the advantage of range, but he supposed that if he spent a long time in the air, simply flying out of the range of her attacks, she'd figure out a decisive way to bring him down sooner than later, so he had to go in hard and fast. Her roar in response brought his instincts to the forefront, and he blasted through the air toward her to meet her attack in midair.
With the increased aggression of his state, Owen did not attempt to evade the attack, but instead used his speed to close in on the strike. He felt the axe-blade of the halberd graze his upper arm, but soon after, Owen would aim to grip the weapon itself, pulling Ophelia in close so he could see her face in full for the first time, and what he saw impressed.
With his jetpacks bursting to full, Owen would then tug the weapon toward him, bringing Ophelia within range, then, he would initiate his Wild Onslaught attack, attempting a combination of aerial punches and kicks before attempting to finally slam her onto the ice below, attempting to wind her in a devastating first strike. As he finished, he would bring into use the first card that had been given to him, a golden "X" forming on his steel chestplate, then fired a "Vee Laser" as a parting shot, which would either strike Ophelia on the ground or be shot at her if she somehow managed to escape the worst of his attack.
Owen uses his Jetpack Flight ability to maintain high maneuverablity in battle.
Combat Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
Owen is struck by Ophelia's melee attack, then counter-attacks with Wild Onslaught.
Wild Onslaught - With his jets bursting at full energy, Owen speeds around his opponent, launching powerful punching attacks from them at all angles. If they're lighter than he is (200kg), then they get launched into the air if this attack hits. When done, Owen slams them into the ground, whether he launches them or not, rendering them immobilized for 1 turn. [Cooldown: 3 turns].
Owen's Attack power and Speed are increased by 30% by Lunatic High. [1/3 turns passed].
Owen finishes by using the ExVeemon card to use Vee Laser.
Vee Laser: Fires an X shaped laser from the target Digimon's chest.
Wild Onslaught cooldown: 0/3 turns.

The thrill of the fight, the thrill of two equally powerful Digimon meeting in the (hypothetical, at least in this case) middle to do combat... Was it possible that, just as Ophelia got stronger with each higher stage, that those battle-instincts of hers were growing stronger as well? It was possible, to say the least; both she and Owen had fired each other and themselves up all the same, and they were capitalizing on it in the form of a wild and brutal fight that was starting off with a bang. Initially, Ophelia could feel that spark of excitement as her attack landed; the halberd cutting into Owen, with a blade as sharp as any well-crafted steel pole-arm. However, she quickly came to realize that Owen had purposefully let himself get hit; having gotten himself hit, to tug her closer and unleash what she would soon realize to be a devastating flurry upon her! The first one or two punches, Ophelia would barely be able to deflect and avoid - but it didn't take long for Owen to launch her upwards (given her smaller size and lack of mechanical additions) and to truly lay the smack-down upon her, punch after kick after punch in the air, seemingly coming from every direction! This attack was indeed going to leave her sore; each attack seeming to bat her around in the air as though it were a one-player game of badminton! But, Ophelia wasn't one to go down easily; and if there was anything that cats took pride in in a situation like this, it was their feline reflexes - both in the sense of reaction time, and in the sense of their ability to land on their feet. As the flurry let up for the briefest moment, so that Owen could come in for the final slam, Ophelia would react; swinging her halberd towards him! What Owen might not expect though, was that this wasn't a counterattack of her own; at least, not immediately. Instead, Ophelia would use the hook of the curved spike on the back of the halberd's blade to catch onto Owen, so that she could essentially vault herself; flipping herself towards Owen with a certain feline grace, and narrowly avoiding the final slam that would've surely hurt! Pushing off of Owen via the halberd at the apex of the flip, Ophelia launched herself briefly further into the air; all the whilst making use of the cards provided to her, just as Owen did. Owen's own card would come in first; Ophelia hissing softly as the Vee Laser from what she guessed was the ExVeemon card would slam into her chest, singing her fur. However, due to the card's comparatively weaker power, and Ophelia's increased defenses, it didn't hurt nearly as much as Owen's first Wild Onslaught had hurt her; her body still aching somewhat from the bruises that she was sure to have after this fight. Her card would come right after, though, as she called upon a much more powerful card; Duftmon's card, using the Conquest attack. Globes of light would come off from Ophelia's body - but what would quickly become apparent, was that Ophelia did not aim the globes directly at Owen. No, instead, the globes would be arranged around the both of them; arranged to pen Owen in, and prevent him from trying to escape - lest he risk flying into and detonating the practical air-mines, which were at the level of Mega, given the card's rank. If he did try to escape, and ended up flying into one? It was likely going to hurt. With the trap set, Ophelia couldn't help a small grin across her face - gripping her Azure Fang in both hands, as the blade of the halberd shifted into something more pointed; a something that looked like a cross between a Corseque or Chauve-souris, and a Spetum. Once poised to attack, Ophelia would allow herself to go into a brief free-fall, to put herself beneath Owen. Right before she'd reach the Conquest-mines beneath, though... an ice platform - suspended in midair - would appear beneath Ophelia's feet, allowing her to jump off of it to launch herself at Owen, spear readied! ... Or, did she? No, it seemed that this first leap at Owen would be a feint - she didn't want to attack Owen from the front, it wasn't what she was aiming for - the lioness angling her leap to instead sail right past Owen! Attempting to use the limited dodging room the Conquest-mines brought to her advantage, an additional ice-platform would form the moment that Ophelia was able to re-orient herself in mid air; allowing her to leap downwards at Owen in what would be her true attack! Assuming that all went well, Ophelia would attempt to slam into Owen's back with her spear - aiming in particular for the jet-pack, in an attempt to disable it! Additionally, if the attack landed, Owen would surely be slammed downwards - between Ophelia's weight, and the inertia that she built from the downwards leap off of the platform. If he wasn't careful, it was a very real possibility that he'd slam into the ice below, or even worse, one of the Conquest mines!
- Ophelia is struck by the initial flurry of strikes from Wild Onslaught, and is launched into the air; but is able to just barely dodge the final slam attack! - She, additionally, is struck by Vee Laser; though it doesn't hurt quite as badly, due to its low power and Ophelia's increased defenses. - While dodging Wild Onslaught, Ophelia uses Duftmon's card - Conquest - whilst they're both still airborne, to fill the air with mines and limit Owen's dodging room! - Once the mines are set, Ophelia attempts to use Frozen Dragoon to strike Owen in the back, both trying to slam him either into the ice or one of the Conquest-mines, but also aiming for his jetpack in an attempt to damage and disable it. - Tempo reaches 2 stacks Move Used:[ATTACK] Frozen Dragoon: Ophelia charges at the foe - producing suspended ice platforms underneath her feet to leap off of and maneuver thru the air as necessary - before using the built up inertia to slam into the foe with devastating strength! Though this does not affect her dodge rate, it can be used to flavor her dodge, to re-position herself, or to extend her reach to flying foes as necessary. [2 Turn Cooldown] Card Used:NS-18 Card Name: Duftmon Type: Digimon Rank: Chrome Digizoid Duration: 1 Post Conquest: The target Digimon releases small globes of light from its body, which detonate like mines if approached too closely. Blast! Owen missed the final, key blow of his attack... or had Ophelia managed to evade properly? Either way, he had failed to complete the combo, and Ophelia was ready for her counter-attack. And what she did would have impressed him if it was any other situation.
She used the hook of her halberd to vault herself to another attacking angle. A part of him glowed with pride, his daughter Bu sure knew how to pick them, but he didn't lay his eyes off her for a moment.
He then gasped as she proceeded to use a card of her own, Duftmon's Conquest Mines. If he collided with any of them, he'd take immense damage. Therefore their presence here made his evasive techniques very limited.
Owen saw the smile on Ophelia's face. It was in that moment that he marked her as an equal. Yes, this would be a glorious battle indeed. He had battled many enemy officers like her in the past, some had bested him, others he had bested narrowly. But he did not intend to yield so easily. Skilled she may be, he remained in full attention to her actions.
The MachGaogamon paid attention to her movements, quickly realizing her ice-forming abilities. As he hovered on the spot with his jetpack, he noticed where her eyes and body were aiming. She was not aiming a thrust with her weapon as before, this was a maneuver. He didn't immediately know that she was aiming for his back though, but he turned to face her as she was doing so.
But then he quickly saw what was coming, and knew that his options for evasion were limited. If he burst away with his jets, he could hit a Conquest mine. So his only choice was to meet the attack, and his method of doing so was to use yet another of his cards. While the rookie level Lopmon card by itself wouldn't be enough, that combined with his other abilities would hopefully sort this out.
With that, using the power of Tiny Twister, Owen began to rotate in midair with the speed of a deft ice-skater, the blue fire of his jets surrounding his body. While the winds of this rookie level attack would probably not do much damage by itself, its effect would likely mean that there was little conceivable way that Ophelia could successfully target his back with her ice weapon, both from how fast he was moving and the effect of the heat of the flames. And at the end of this rotation, he would aim a heavy kick at her to knock her away.
Yes, he was knocked hard by the sheer force of her move, grunting in pain, losing altitude somewhat and sustaining a dull throb from where she hit him, that'd probably cause a nasty bruise. But he managed to avoid hitting any of the mines and still managed to hover in midair.
And then, Owen prepared his next move, readying his mechanical fist, making it spin in preparation of his next move. He bared his teeth with excitement, an effect from his Lunatic High. It had been many years since he had a battle like this - that made him remember why he had wanted to be a soldier in the first place.
Owen uses the Lopmon card to use Tiny Twister, rotating his body too fast for Ophelia to properly target his back, using the fire from his jetpack to attempt to both melt the ice and damage her, and finishes with a kicking basic attack (+30% damage from Lunatic High). He is careful not to move from his aerial position so that he would not collide with any of the glowing mines, thanks to his increased speed from Lunatic High. He still takes damage from Frozen Dragoon, but not enough to knock him out of the sky.
Tiny Twister: The target Digimon spins around, generating a wind which hurts any foe caught in it.
Owen charges Winning Knuckle.
Winning Knuckle - Owen draws his fist back, the cyber power fist beginning to spin, then aims a heavy punch at the enemy. If he chooses to do so, Owen can 'charge' his attack by spending 1 post increasing the spinning momentum, then punches the next turn. If he does that, not only is its power increased by 50%, it can pierce through any active defensive barriers that the target may have set up.
Lunatic High duration: 2/3 posts.
Wild Onslaught cooldown: 1/3 posts.

As the blazing fire of the jetpack consumed Owen's form, Ophelia would curse sharply - unable to stop herself from colliding into him, and into the flames by extension. Due to the nature of the Azure Fang, the blade of the spear didn't melt quite as much as Owen might've intended - but she certainly didn't hit the mark she intended, the jetpack still being very much operational. She'd snarl in a mix of brief frustration and minor pain as the flames licked at her fur - the damage being dampened by her Frost Veil, but the frost that hardened her fur was starting to melt; and it was unlikely she'd be able to make use of it for much longer. The Conquest mines were - similarly - starting to fade as well, the glowing orbs winking out one by one. It was no matter, though; this simply meant that Ophelia had to try something else. Kicking off of Owen to jump upwards and get away from the blazing fire, she would also avoid the kick by extension - rising above Owen once more as she gripped her spear in both hands. However, much like the last two times, Azure Fang was beginning to change into something else; the blade of the spear extending far down the shaft, as a hand guard extended from where the ice met the hilt - the weapon changing into what looked to be something like a Zweihander. She could see as Owen's mechanical fist was beginning to rotate at increasingly fast speeds - something that Ophelia was unsure what to make of, but it seemed obvious that Owen was preparing something with that fist of his, and that she had to act fast before he could do something potentially painful. Sucking in a deep breath, Ophelia would call upon yet another card as she began her descent towards Owen - and at the same time, she would raise her Zweihander above her head in preparation for an overhead slash; using both attacks that she was preparing at once. Firstly, was the card - Ophelia was using the same Lopmon card that Owen just did; but she didn't use Tiny Twister. Instead, she would use Blazing Ice, blowing out a freezing breath, aiming it at Owen's face - particularly his eyes - in an attempt to temporarily blind Owen with the frost buildup that would surely follow! Next, was her true attack; Ophelia would use Lionbreaker, swinging the sword down at Owen; aiming for his upper arm and shoulder on the same side as the charging Winning Knuckle. Were the attack to land, it would cut deeply into him - damaging muscle and tendons that would hamper his ability to swing with that arm, and make it all the more painful. Once that attack landed, though, Ophelia would allow herself to fall past Owen to the ice below; landing deftly on her feet, as any cat would, as she attempted to prepare herself for whatever would come in retaliation from the MachGaogamon...
- Ophelia is burnt by the flames from Owen's jetpack as she falls into him, but kicks off of him to jump upwards and avoid the kick afterwards! - In an attempt to blind him with frost, Ophelia uses the Lopmon card's Blazing Ice attack, and aims it at his face - particularly his eyes! - At the same time, Ophelia uses Lionbreaker in an attempt to decrease Owen's attack - aiming at the arm that is charging Winning Knuckle! - Afterwards, Ophelia allows herself to fall past Owen, and lands on the ice below. - Tempo reaches 3 stacks, Frost Veil wears off. Move Used:[ATTACK] Lionbreaker: Using preferably a weapon with a bladed edge, Ophelia stabs or swings the weapon at a limb of her choice - aiming to temporarily hinder the foe. Ophelia can choose to strike at an enemy's claws/arm to reduce their attack by 25% for 2 turns, or to strike at an enemy's legs or wings to reduce their speed by 25% for 2 turns. Owen gave a grunt of pain as the Frozen Dragoon collided with him. In the end it struck his side, unfortunately not the part of him protected by the metal sash he wore over his front. Another nasty blow from the battle.
However, he still paid attention to the situation as it unfolded. The frosted armor upon Ophelia was starting to fade, as well as the glowing mines she had activated. Ophelia had avoided the kick attack he had intended as a parting shot, and was again using her feline agility to continue her aerial combination. She noted his spinning fist and seemed to be wary enough of it to transform her weapon into a big Zweihander sword.
The MachGaogamon immediately knew that if he followed through with this strike, she might end up cutting his arm clean off. While he would undoubtedly cause damage of his own with a good punch, he knew better than to approach a sword attack in this manner. Therefore he immediately initiated the cancel function of his mechanical fist, halting its momentum. While that would waste the charge he had built up just now, he instead would try to take advantage of a quick change in strategy.
Instead, Owen would use yet another card, this time aiming for the Imperialdramon. Namely, its Splendor Blade attack. In his experience, if being attacked by a big sword, one of the bests ways to counter that is with another sword. Guns were preferred of course, but she was too close and coming in too fast for any other method of countering. Yes, he could have just dodged, but, he wanted her to be nice and close for this next move he had in store for her.
The ice attack was unexpected and frosted over the sunglasses that Owen wore, in fact the cold wind stung him rather nastily, but, that wouldn't be enough to prevent him targeting her. Owen's cybernetic-enhanced senses would be able to pinpoint her location via scent, sound and heat signature, and Owen still knew where he needed to strike true.
Eventually, Lionbreaker and Splendor Blade would clash. And while their swords were crossed, Owen would launch his follow-up attack - inhaling then roaring an ultrasonic Howling Cannon attack at point-blank range. Unless Ophelia did some very fancy evasive maneuver, he was sure that he would have landed a nasty blow. Furthermore, his jetpack burst with blue flames, aiming to redirect himself so that instead of Ophelia pushing him down, he'd redirect his own momentum so that he'd be able to fly upwards again.
However, after this attack was launched, Owen's eyes changed from red back to yellow, and the wild boosts he had gained from Lunatic High would fade. Now he was back to fighting as normal. But, he was still smiling. This battle was getting very interesting indeed.
While Owen's hit by Blazing Ice, frosting over his sunglasses, he can still target Ophelia through Cyber-enhanced Senses.
Passive Ability: Cyber-enhanced Senses - Owen's natural beast senses have become even more accustomed to hunting. This means that Owen is unaffected by attacks that compromise his vision, or attempt to trick him through illusions.
Owen cancels Winning Knuckle's charge and instead uses the Imperialdramon card to summon a light sword to clash with Ophelia's Lionbreaker. He may sustain some damage in doing so, but does not suffer the reduction in attack.
Splendor Blade: The target Digimon slices with a white-hot energy blade.
When closed to point-blank range, Owen uses Howling Cannon on Ophelia, increasing the cooldowns for Frost Veil, Frozen Dragoon and Lionbreaker by 1 post if it successfully hits. (only once, not for the whole battle).
Howling Cannon - Owen takes a deep breath, then roars and launches a powerful blast of ultrasonic energy at the enemy, reaching an area-of-effect of 10m. This attack not only deals damage from the blast, but disorients their minds a little, increasing any active cooldowns they might have by 1 post. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Lunatic High duration: 3/3 posts, ends now. Wild Onslaught cooldown: 2/3 posts. Howling Cannon cooldown: 0/3 posts.

Ophelia, initially, would be surprised as Owen canceled the charging of his move - whatever it must've been - in lieu of parrying her with Imperialdramon's Splendor Blade. Both blades would clash with a loud clang, before the ice of Ophelia's blade began sizzling on contact with the Splendor Blade, clouds of steam rising up from where the two weapons met. Given that the Imperialdramon card was Mega level, it wasn't very likely that Ophelia would be able to break thru this guard; at least, not without some sort of cheeky trick, not that she had one. Anticipating some form of retaliation (though Ophelia had thought that it'd be with the blade, not with a howl,) Ophelia would kick off of him; leaping backwards, and aiming to abscond downwards instead of upwards as she did the last two times. However, Owen seemed to have other ideas - which quickly became apparent, as Owen let off a Howling Cannon! Without much of a chance to react or dodge, the sonic blast would leave Ophelia's ears ringing and her head spinning as she tumbled to the ice below - just barely able to land on her feet as she briefly had to regain her bearings. Now THAT had hurt; leaving Ophelia uttering a brief growl to herself as she eyeballed Owen above. She wasn't about to be idle for much longer, though; she could see that, in the midst of their fighting, that Owen was getting relatively close to that ground. With this in mind, her Azure Fang would once more change in shape; into that of a long staff, as she charged forward and made to attack Owen! Similar to the halberd trick from before, Ophelia would use the staff to vault - front flipping towards Owen with an excited snarl; her ferocity having been increasing gradually with each exchange of blows. But what was different this time, was that as Ophelia flipped forwards to swing the weapon towards him, it would begin to change in shape; one end changing into that of a massive war hammer, as Ophelia attempted to strike him with Glaciersplitter! Even if the initial attack were to miss, the war hammer would slam into the ice just below Owen; fracturing the ice, and sending out a shock wave and shards of broken ice in its wake that he would have to avoid, as well! And as per the fight, Ophelia wasn't about to forget about the cards they had in their arsenal; not even giving a chance for the ice and snow kicked up to fall before she'd turn around in Owen's direction - light gathering in her maw. This would be the only warning that Owen would get, before she'd fire off KendoGarurumon's Lupine Laser at him with a roar of her own, trying to shoot him out of the sky!
- Lionbreaker is canceled out completely by Splendor Blade as the two blades clash - Ophelia attempts to kick off of Owen to avoid a retaliation, but is still struck dead-on by Howling Cannon; increasing her existing cooldowns by 1 - In retaliation, Ophelia attempts to leap at Owen and use Glaciersplitter on him! - Quickly following that up, Ophelia uses KendoGarurumon's Lupine Laser in an attempt to shoot Owen out of the sky! - Tempo reaches 4 stacks Move Used:[ATTACK] Glaciersplitter: Using preferably a heavy or otherwise large weapon, Ophelia swings it down at her foe with great force; the sheer strength of the attack fracturing the ground beneath her and her target, and sending out a 20 meter shock-wave! As Owen's eyes turned from red back to yellow, he realized just how low to the ground he was becoming, and was surprised after a blow like that that Ophelia was up and closing in on an attack run so quickly. With the loss of the boost to his power, he was not about to be pinned down on the ground against this opponent.
And so, his response to this was to make his jetpack blaze to maximum power in an attempt to regain height, but it would take several key seconds to work, and in that time, he would have to do some fancy moves to secure his escape.
He watched her approach with her staff, but by now was aware of her ability to change the weapon's function easily, so he wasn't expecting it to last long as it was. While he could manage a blow if it stayed as a staff, he would make efforts to evade rather than block.
And his suspicions were made correct when it turned into a hammer. Owen knew how deadly those could be. They could smash through armor, and he did not want to suffer that. Using the thrusters of his jetpack to the maximum, he did his best to swerve to the side from the hit, but that did not fully save him. The hammer smashed on the ice below, sending a blast of ice shards all around - some of them hurtling so quickly upward that they struck him. Most of said shards were melted quickly by the fire of his jetpack, but three shards struck him in his legs, and two in his arms. Yes, they would quickly melt, but the velocity in which they struck him made him realize just how deadly Ophelia was at close range.
His only option here was to continue to fly upward, out of range. While he thought he would be mostly safely out of range, Ophelia would launch a Lupine Laser up at him. Given his angle toward her, flying backwards while facing her, the only way he could block a direct hit to his face was to press his feet together and block that way - it was too fast for him to dodge completely with an evasive maneuver. The beam hit the heels of his boots and hurt rather nastily. But for now, Owen was hopefully out of immediate danger, hovering over 150 feet in the air.
With that, he would prepare for the next phase of the fight. He panted, but knew it wasn't near over yet. In that moment, Owen concentrated, focused, and did two things.
The first, he focused inwards, conjuring a green ray of energy over himself, healing an amount of the damage that had been dealt to him. The feeling of his aches and stinging wounds fading was very pleasant. And left a lingering light on him, that would provide him extra defense against further attacks for a little while.
The next, twin wings of shining red light sprouted at his shoulders, through the use of his RizeGreymon card, then would launch a wide spread of heat lasers down upon Ophelia and the ice below. If they failed to hit her, then undoubtedly they would do something to the ice below them.
Owen avoids a direct hit from Glaciersplitter using his Jetpack Flight passive, but takes damage from the ice shards and Lupine Laser, then flies to a height of 150ft.
Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
Owen uses Emergency Bolster on himself, healing a moderate amount of damage.
Emergency Bolster - Owen raises his power fists so the yellow light turns green, sending a green ray of energy over himself or an ally. The effect of this heals a moderate amount of damage, and also increases their defense by 25% for 2 turns. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Owen uses the RizeGreymon card to use Rising Destroyer on Ophelia and the ice below.

Ophelia was satisfied to see her attacks, for the most part, land as intended; expressing this satisfaction thru an excited growl, her tail lashing side-to-side. Sure, she had taken a few good hits of her own - but she was feeling confident, and was a wildchild down to her core; it would take more than a few punches or a laser to take her down! She'll damn well give Owen a fight to remember! But, of course, there was a problem to this plan of hers, despite her confidence. Though her attacks had dealt damage to Owen, the MachGaogamon was very much still airborne - the lioness having had yet to properly knock him out of the air. Not only that, but he was rising higher into the air - certainly out of her reach! Perhaps, after this exchange of blows, she could try again with another Frozen Dragoon; though she didn't have the field control that the Duftmon card's Conquest gave her, at least not yet... Maybe she could use another card, to control the battlefield a bit...? Well, either way, it didn't seem like Ophelia had much of a chance to think it over any further; she would watch as Owen began to go over himself with a green ray of energy - being able to see the slightest signs of tension fading and wounds mending, from the move. This glow would even linger, as though there was some other effect in play; though Ophelia didn't have enough context at this moment to tell what, exactly, it was. Right after that, though? A pair of shining mechanical wings would sprout from Owen's shoulders, prompting brief alarm from Ophelia as she tensed up - readying herself for whatever was to come next. And what was to come was certainly something - a firey-red barrage of beams, coming down towards her! Having been keeping her eyes solely on Owen, the lioness was deft on her feet, even on the ice - dodging in between the sweep of the lasers as clouds of steam rose up from where they hit the ice. But, despite the fact that she was able to avoid the attack itself, she couldn't ignore the way that it cut into the ice, either; leaving deep gouges... Between this and the fracturing left behind by Glaciersplitter, Ophelia could hear and feel the way that the glacier beneath her was starting to split; particularly along the lines that the lasers drew across the crater from Glaciersplitter...! The Pankjyamon was quick to think, slamming her palms down onto the ice to try and mend the cracks with her Cryokinesis; but she wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep this glacier in one piece... Maybe it was time to change up? Or... ... As she felt the ice underneath her palms shifting and changing, puzzling back together in a makeshift facimile of being 'whole' again... An idea would occur to her. Almost experimentally, she would let the ice just beneath her rise; rising up into a spire that would reach taller and taller, until she rose up above the clouds of steam that Rising Destroyer had left behind - a grin on her face as she gained confidence in this idea. Gripping Azure Fang firmly once more, she would attempt to see how far up she could get with it, until - with the built up inertia of the rising spire - she would 'launch' herself off of it, using it like a springboard to leap at Owen! All the whilst, her weapon would be changing in form; this time into that of a razor chain whip - each frozen chain link having sharp, nasty-looking barbed blades on it! And at the end of this whip? The blade at the end would perhaps be the largest, akin to that of the head of a ranseur! And this blade would only grow larger in size, as Ophelia swing the whip overhead at Owen mid-leap in a Shatterstrike; letting out a spirited roar all the while! Perhaps the accuracy wouldn't be the best - given the circumstances, - but... This was purely an experimental attack that Ophelia was making do with, in absence of a proper strategy. Whether or not Shatterstrike landed, Ophelia would go into a free fall; but was unafraid to do one more attack of her own as she fell, even if it wasn't necessarily a strong one. Drawing upon Togemon's card, her mane would grow noticeably spiky; before she fired out a spray of thin, needle-like hairs at Owen, from her mane! Even if it didn't cause true damage, it would probably still hurt to be hit by it, after all; one too many splinters from climbing around in trees taught her that much! Assuming that Ophelia is able to reach the ice below without too much interference, the Panjyamon would allow herself to tumble, before stopping upon her feet, to mitigate any possible harm from the height she fell at - staring above at Owen to see what he'd have in store for her, next.
- Ophelia is barely able to avoid RizeGreymon's Rising Destroyer, though the attack is starting to make the glacier that Owen had started on unstable. - Ophelia uses her Cryokinesis noncombat passive to try and do a temporary bandaid-fix on the glacier before it splits in two (though the repair isn't likely to survive another good hit,) then gets the idea to use it to try and boost herself up towards Owen! - Using a chain whip for that last little bit of reach, Ophelia leaps at Owen and uses Shatterstrike! - Right after, she follows up with Togemon's Needle Spray, as she goes into free fall! Move Used:[ATTACK] Shatterstrike: Enlarging her weapon of choice to an extraordinary size, and swinging it overhead with a ferocious roar, Ophelia brings it down upon the foe with surprising force! With the sheer size and ferocity of the attack, though it deals normal damage, it otherwise breaks thru barrier, reflect, and other effects that would increase the enemy's defense. Unarmed, it otherwise functions the same; though Ophelia instead brings her fists together, and with a roar, smashes them down into the foe. [3 Turn Cooldown] Card Used:JT-09 Card Name: Togemon Type: Digimon Rank: Silver Duration: 1 Post Needle Spray: The target Digimon's hair, feathers or scales grow sharp and tough, and are fired at the opponent in rapid succession. Owen supposed that he was too far away for his attack to do concentrated damage on the Panjyamon, but his carpet bombing of the ice seemed to be distracting her enough for now. Growling with frustration, he was limited in how he could attack her now. If only he could evolve to his Mega form, he would have more options as MirageGaogamon, but, he'd simply have to make do with what he had here.
He did not hover for very long, taking care to regularly change his position in the sky, knowing that a stationary target on the battlefield was usually a dead one. He watched to see what Ophelia would do next, knowing that one way or another she would soon be up here. And it seemed what she did was manipulate the ice below to form a tower that she would then use as a springboard of sorts, launching herself up at him.
The MachGaogamon wasn't going to stick around to find out what she was doing next, he could see at once her weapon was changing into a chain whip, and he had noticed that over the course of the battle, Ophelia's attacks were growing stronger and more precise. Furthermore, he could sense some serious strength behind this move.
Owen would need to do some fancy flying again to avoid this, since he wasn't sure this was a hit that he particularly wanted to take, he didn't think he could block it. The Shatterstrike was then flying at him rather fast. Owen's only means of evading this was to cut off his jets entirely, the large cyber canine entering freefall for about twenty feet before he would re-engage them, and he resumed his flight now 100 feet above the surface. He looked up to see the very nasty weapon swish above him where he was flying only moments ago. However, the needles were launched wide enough for some to hit him, striking through his suit. Ouch, he'd need to get those pulled out later.
But then, he turned his attention back down to Ophelia, who was falling toward the ground. This was where he flashed an excited grin. With his jetpack, Owen could control where he flew. Ophelia, however...
Owen would then activate his strongest card yet - Duftmon, and use its effects in combination with his previous card. From the ocean floor below, pillars of bedrock would rush to the surface, the force of the mega level attack crashing through the ice and upward further, aiming to strike Ophelia in the same trajectory that she was falling. With pillars of bedrock smashing through it, the ice surely wouldn't be very stable anymore.
He was almost excited to see what she would do in response. She hadn't disappointed yet.
Because of Owen's exertion in evading Shatterstrike and the range he keeps from Ophelia, he does not make one of his own normal attacks this turn. He is currently 100ft above the battlefield. He takes a small amount of damage from Needle Spray.
Owen's card attack is Duftmon's Vulcan Crusher, aiming to summon pillars of bedrock from the ocean floor, through the ice and upwards to where Ophelia's trajectory currently takes her.

Sadly, the gamble of Ophelia's didn't work; Owen easily dodging the attack, which she honestly somewhat expected, given the circumstances. The Panjyamon would begin to go into a freefall after that - even with her tricks, there was only so much that she could do to avoid gravity's pull, after all. She'd begin twisting her body around mid-air as a cat did, in preparation to land, but... ... What Ophelia wouldn't expect, was the sudden rising pillars of stone that would rise up; breaking thru the glacier that was beneath before, and easily shattering it into pieces in the process! The lioness would only have a split-time to react; bringing her forearm in front of her as a large buckler of ice formed upon it, in preparation to block the spire that was coming right up to meet her in her freefall. However, Duftmon's card was a whole stage higher than Ophelia was - and though the Panjyamon's shield was sturdy, it wasn't sturdy enough to hold up to the Vulcan Crusher, crashing thru her shield of ice almost as easily as it did the glaciers! "G-guh!" The first non-bestial vocalization in awhile, Ophelia couldn't help but have the breath knocked out of her as the spire slammed into her - it definitely hurt less thanks to the shield, but it still hurt nonetheless - sending her upwards a short distance, before she would once more descend back downwards. She would tumble a little, but was still just able to land atop the very pillar that had launched her, her claws digging into the hard stone beneath her for traction to avoid falling off completely..! "Fuck, that hurt like a bitch..." Ophelia would growl to herself, eyeballing Owen slightly as she briefly caught her breath, rose to her feet, and tried to figure out what her next attempt would be, when... ... She noted the pillars, that were scattered about, centered on her location. The ice below was now in chunks, and it was likely that before long, the whirlpool in the center of the map would begin to churn them and smash them together into slush, but... Did she really need to use the ice, for this exchange...? She could see that Owen had lowered in height whilst dodging her attack from before, so perhaps... Muscles bunching up, much like a predator preparing to pounce, Ophelia would begin her charge - leaping from pillar to pillar as she made a beeline for Owen; her weapon changing yet again into that of a halberd. However, this time, the halberd looked a bit different; the hook of it looking something more like... A Shepherds Crook? It didn't seem like a practical weapon, per se - but that was what Ophelia seemed to be going with! It would quickly become apparent what Ophelia was planning, though, as once she began nearing him, in leaping between the pillars... Ophelia would attempt to use the crook on the halberd, to hook Owen, and to either pull him closer to her, or herself closer to him! Once in range, Ophelia's fangs would visibly elongate as she begun using the ExVeemon card - before she attempted to sink her teeth into Owen in a Critical Crunch, and attempted to tear at him and dig into him with her claws; snarling like a wild beast all the whilst! It didn't seem like she was keen on letting go, either - unless Owen had a trick up his sleeve to knock her away..!
- Ophelia is struck by Vulcan Crusher, but uses Ice Bucklers to soften the blow - The glacier that Owen started on is pretty much shattered now; and using the pillars from Vulcan Crusher, Ophelia attempts to make her way towards Owen! - Once in range, Ophelia uses a cross between a halberd and shepherd's crook to try and grapple onto him, and begins both using Critical Crunch, and clawing at him, at the same time! Move Used:[ABILITY] Ice Bucklers: Ophelia forms 1-2 shields made of ice on her arms, which she can choose to use to block an incoming attack. The shields, together, can completely block up to 2 Ultimate-level attacks before shattering, or block 50% of a single Mega attack before shattering instantly. Owen would watch his opponent's reaction to the pillars carefully. He had seen her earlier maneuvers through the air with ice platforms, and was expecting her to deal with this the same way. She was struck well by the pillars of rock, but he didn't expect her to go down quite yet. He flinched with sympathy at the pain she was bearing from the attack, but, there was still that fight in her eyes that made him know that this was not yet over.
Still with the green aura of the Emergency Bolster covering him, Owen braced as he saw her once again rushing toward him with that damned weapon of hers. It seemed she wanted to get up close and personal again. Had Owen's fighting spirit not been present, he would have continued to fly back and keep his distance, but, again, in order to win this, he needed to bring the battle to her when it convenienced him, and with his extra durability, and indeed, the trick he held in his sleeve, he felt confident.
Activating one of his last cards, about a dozen golden blades appeared all over his body. His arms, his sides, his legs, even his cheeks and jetpack. KendoGarurumon's Blade Wind Turbine.
"Hope you're ready for this next dance!" he found himself shouting, the spirit of the competition now rushing through him as his jetpacks blasted with blue fire.
Owen began rotating like an ice-skater again. Not so ridiculously fast that he would lose control of his trajectory and actions, he knew it was vital to never go on a frenzied spin, especially in flight. But enough so that when Ophelia made physical contact, he would aim to immediately rip and tear at her with the blades on his body, likely moving too quickly for her to manage to hook onto him with that nasty crook on her halberd, probably managing to cut through it completely unless there was something exceptionally strong about the ice that made it.
Well, if Ophelia wanted to dance with this jet-powered meat grinder that Owen had become, then dance they would! If Ophelia closed her mouth over a part of his body, most likely his arm or leg (even then she would have to be exceptionally accurate to do so without getting a mouthful of metal blade), Owen was willing to take the pain and deal it back with just as much force, maneuvering at speed through the air, punching and kicking Ophelia at close range as hard as he could in his Wild Onslaught attack. In the final blow, Owen would aim to smack her down onto the now fracturing ice below.
While Owen's adrenaline was still high, the MachGaogamon was beginning to pant, his body aching from the wild exertion he had made so far in the battle.
Owen is struck by Critical Crunch and the basic attack, but uses it as an opportunity to counter attack with Wild Onslaught and Blade Wind Turbine. [Emergency Bolster reduces the boosted damage by 25%].
Wild Onslaught - With his jets bursting at full energy, Owen speeds around his opponent, launching powerful punching attacks from them at all angles. As it turned out, it was hard to exactly shred someone once they were clinging to you...! Ophelia would, indeed, take a few cuts here and there from the blades as she brought herself in close - the ice of her weapon (which, felt more like crystal than actual ice, despite it looking quite similar and having melted before) just barely able to maintain shape. But once she was able to get a grip on Owen and begin sinking her teeth and claws into him, she wasn't exactly in as much danger from the spinning and blades anymore, beyond a couple that were sunk into her hip and shoulder as she got in close..! From there, though all the spinning and flying about might be briefly disorienting, Ophelia hung on tight; trying to deal as much damage as she could, before Owen figured out something to knock her away. It, additionally, wasn't exactly easy to talk with a mouthful of fur; so Owen's shout would, sadly, likely go without response for the time being. This attempted grapple of hers wouldn't last forever, though; because before long, would come the Wild Onslaught..! The first few strikes were a bit awkward, given the angle Owen had to hit her at while she was still grappled to him - and Ophelia was tenacious in trying to maintain this grapple, to avoid the true beat-down that she knew was coming! But despite her attempts, a good couple kicks/knee jabs would be enough to make her lose her grip, Ophelia being struck dead-on with the Onslaught once more! Whilst Owen was faster last time, he certainly had the advantage in pulling off the barrage without trouble; not to mention the fact that, Ophelia's halberd wasn't exactly shaped to pull the same gambit that she had before, for a second time! As a result, she wouldn't be able to avoid the final slam into the ground, either; though that didn't mean that Ophelia was completely helpless in the midst of this. The lioness still had quite the trick up her sleeve - her muzzle taking on a draconic bent as she drew upon Imperialdramon's card, breathing in deeply... Before she let loose a Positron Laser; aiming it directly at Owen as he'd come in for the kill! Between Ophelia's increased attack and accuracy, as well as this being a Mega attack, this was sure to hurt...! Of course, this didn't save her from the slam; Ophelia would still be struck into one of the platforms of ice that were floating about on Owen's side of the field, tumbling briefly; but still barely able to cling onto it as she dug in her claws, sea spray splashing up around her and the platform from the impact! Her limbs felt heavy, and she had to take a brief pause to gain her bearings; but she was too stubborn to let that stop her! Through what was likely sheer willpower, Ophelia would rise to her feet; claws flexing against the ice as she took a second to plot out her next move, before she would begin, indeed, moving..! "Catch me if you can, then!" Ophelia would call back to Owen with a wide grin, in her own little show of competitiveness; leaping and vaulting from icefloe to icefloe, as she made for the glacier that she had started upon. She could feel her muscles ache in protest; much like Owen, the wear and tear of the battle was starting to get to her. However, if one word described Ophelia the most, then it would be 'tenacity'. She wasn't about to let her own body's protests stop her from making this a fight to remember..!
- Ophelia is struck in the closest thing to a glancing blow by Blade Wind Turbine, but is struck dead-on by Wild Onslaught! - As Owen comes in for the final slam, Ophelia uses Imperialdramon's Positron Laser on him! - Upon landing, Ophelia uses Force of Will to power thru the immobilization from Wild Onslaught, and starts moving for the glacier she started on - Tempo reduces to 4 stacks Move Used:[ABILITY] Force of Will: Ophelia is stubborn and tenacious - even when a digimon tries to handicap her, she'll shake off the effect thru sheer willpower alone. This ability allows Ophelia to get heal a single negative status effect that may be afflicting her (damage over time, stat reduction, mute, etc.) [2 Turn Cooldown] Card Used:DR-15 Card Name: Imperialdramon Type: Digimon Rank: Platinum Duration: Positron Laser: The target Digimon fires a beam of pure energy from its mouth. Passives:[PASSIVE] Prominence Native: Having particularly thick and fluffy fur - even by Panjyamon standards - and having been raised in the coldest parts of Prominence, Ophelia has increased durability against ice/cold-based attacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM] Tempo: Ophelia is a scrapper who prefers getting up close and personal - and the more she fights, the easier it gets for her as she gets into the rhythm of it. For each turn that she makes a direct melee attack, she gains 1 stack of Tempo at the end of that turn - and for each turn that she doesn't make a melee attack, she loses 1 stack of Tempo at the end. She gets a 6% attack and accuracy increase for each stack she gets, capping at 30% attack and accuracy at 5 stacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM GIGA] Lionheart: Ophelia is stubborn, willful, and passionate - especially in the heat of battle. Those who try to influence her mind or emotions find it difficult to overcome this side of her - and more often than not, she powers thru from sheer will, and the sheer anger at someone trying to control her like such. As a result, she is highly resistant - if not outright immune - to effects that influence her mind, emotions, or disposition, such as mind control, taunts, rage, fear, or pacification- unless she allows another digimon to influence her in this way. Effects:Tempo - 4/5 Stacks; 30% increase to Attack and Accuracy this turn, 24% next turn Cooldowns:Frost Veil - 4/4, Ready Next Turn Ice Bucklers - 1/3 Force of Will - 0/2 Cards Used:Duftmon Lopmon KendoGarurumon Togemon ExVeemon Imperialdramon
