[PotT 2] The Treasure Hunters

Saying that Erika was marveled at all of the little commodities and trinkets Koharu showed her was an understatement. With every new gadget or function, the captain let out some audible “Ooooh!” “Waaaah!” “So cool!” and squeaks that only went to really show how much she actually loved this. Of course, the Treasure Hunter went to ask for details of every little thing, testing and getting into everything, before actually letting her crewmate go to her regular labors.
When she finally did, at least two hours had gone by! They had already passed by two of the thirteen islands they had to go by before reaching Krago. That meant the Sailing Master had to catch up quickly by drawing in her chart! Did she remember how to do it?
With the showing over, things had calmed around the deck for a while. While he kind of got back to his senses while Koharu showed all of the new stuff, Yiro still seemed to be mildly overwhelmed! With some luck, he would eventually get used to it. The fact that he was shy like a snail (are those shy?) and the fact that he really liked Konata were not a good combination.
Now, he finally had reincorporated and answered to Warg. “L-Lover boy…” He muttered, looking a bit nervous. “I… I want to become stronger.” While nodding repeatedly, he uttered this statement. “I r-really don’t know any technique or any fighting move. So please, if it’s not too much to ask… t-teach me everything from scratch!” With a bow, he formalized this request. Although shyly, his drive was evident. Why was this Gabumon so motivated to actually learn how to fight? What had ignited that desire inside of him?
Was Warg going to accept the challenge of becoming Yiro’s master?
One floor below deck, the kitchen was occupied by at least two of the humans aboard.
For once, Erika seemed to have gotten rid of her pirate outfit. This would definitely be an oddity for the part of the crew that had known her for a while longer. She was now wearing a white tank-top with the simple design of a pink heart on its front side. This was accompanied by some old jeans and no shoes. She didn’t have her hat either now!
While taking a bite on that apple her beautiful crewmate had given to her, the captain swung her legs by sitting on top of a counter of the kitchen. All of this while speaking to her other beautiful crewmate. “So… how did you meet Bu and Fuu, Yui? I want to know more details!” It was clear their captain wanted to know everything about her group. Eventually, she would also ask about Koharu's past and her memory loss, when she had the chance.
“You actually come from the Human World, right?” If you looked closely, you could actually see Erika's eyes glimmering. “How is it? You have to tell me!” Meanwhile, it was likely the tamer was doing some cooking. What was she going to prepare? Did she need Erika’s help with anything?
Finally, the third part of the squad had their own problems! However, they didn’t seem to be related entirely to this machine. Maybe Kon was right. Maybe it was a good idea to search the ship, in order to find out how the Chaos Pirates knew so much about them, even to the point of knowing how many members their crew had and be waiting for them at Uka Island. The dragon soldier had probably come to something that could bring interesting results here. Should they follow her instinct and investigate? Assuming Fuu was with them (Yui didn’t need any help in the kitchen, after all!), should they split so someone looked around the ship for clues? Or should they all work together to fix the Radio Receiver first?
In any case, whoever was taking care of fixing the gadget should probably try to remember where they had left off last time. The time? Around 12:00 pm. Still a long way to Krago!

Like a well-oiled machine, the ship needed it's crew members to execute their particular tasks while they had the time to in order to ensure success in whatever endeavors they got up to. First off, there was Yui and Fuu, who had gone below deck with Erika to man the kitchen--Fuu because that's what she did last time, and Yui because she could actually cook.
On the subject of Yui, she noted that she and the captain had...similar tastes in clothes, it seemed. That was pleasant. Huge indicator that they'd likely get along swimmingly (which, all things considered? They were already) which sat well with Fuu.
Yui was fixing up something relatively simple--she didn't know Erika's tastes very well, but she had a good idea of what Fuu liked. Plus, there wasn't really any pizza in the Digital World...So, a simple stew befitting the women of the sea would have to suffice in this scenario. Seeing that Yui seemed to have everything under control?
"...I'm gonna go check on Bu and Kon-chan. Yui, please don't poison my captain or anything. I prefer her healthy!"
"Relax, I know how to cook--I'm not Mao!"
"You and I both know I haven't met your sister!"
It seemed as though such sass was common between these two. Either way? Fuu waved and headed out. Which left Yui with the questions asked by Erika. She turned her head to the pirate. "Well, it was when I first came here--The whole computer sucking you up sort of deal. I ended up in the northernmost part of this world and in a crystalline cave. Uncomfortably cold place to be in, all things considered."
She took a pause. "I ran into Bu and Fuu while they were looking for something--Digimentals, I think they're called." Yui continued to explain while she stopped tending to the pot for a second and pulled out her D-Nexus. "This used to be a different shape, but when I met them it changed color to red, so...I think that's what signified us as partners. I'm going to be blunt when I say there's a lot that I'm still trying to get a good grip on--like what Digimon's what and who's who. I...don't know if I'm doing a good job or not, but I still have to keep trying."
Another pause. "They didn't find the Digimentals, but we did run into a girly-sounding wizardly Digimon with a tome--she...pointed us in what seemed to be the right direction. But she didn't want to come out of that cave. Seemed terrified of something. Well, two somethings. One was a big blue dinosaur smashing into the cave and the other...we don't know. But we had to deal with the former."
Holy crap, this story was becoming a little long-winded, huh? "To put it lightly, I saw my girls kicking some ass, then got dragged over to Ys, and then Fuu decided to tell me about you--I can't put into words how highly she regards you." Onto her next question...
"Yeah, I do! It's a nice place. A lot more mundane than here, but it's got my family there--they're an odd bunch, but I love them for that. It's also got something I've seen a sore lack of here. Pizza and sake." A final pause ensued, before...
"Hey, Erika? Two questions. One, do you like pizza and sake, and two, how come you're...asking about the Human World? Not to be rude or anything..."
As Fuu went to meet up with Kon-chan and Bu, she came in to find the former signing at the latter. The Ryudamon promptly signed the gist of the situation they might be facing at the Dorumon, who nodded. Bu then signed back at Kon-chan.
I'm more inclined to believe it's a device. Doubt a person or a Digimon could keep up the hiding forever, but put a device in the right place? It'll last a long, long time. At the same time, we need to finish fixing up the receiver...We should have Fuu search the ship while we get on that. It'd be an easy way to cover a lot of ground.
What did the Commandramon think?

Thankfully there are D-Nexus on the mapping side, although Koharu honestly prefer if she could make the nautical chart herself. Cross referencing between her D-Nexus and the nautical chart in the book, she began creating a map... well, continuation of the old one. Geesh, talk about complicated. Thankfully, she can consult where the islands lies specifically with her trusty device...
And obviously she's using her eyes (with help of telescopes) on this too.
"Hmm, I'm no Valt," Warg would say "But certainly I could teach you some pointers. What do you want for one, then, Yiro? Do you want to be supporter? Attacker? Defender? There are so many roles in fighting, and that's the most important is to follow your heart, then do it with your body. Of course there are cases of your body being suited to role opposed to what you want... but if your heart isn't there, then there's no use.
Crash course like this is cluttered as all hell, and honestly we would at least need a week to truly teach you how to fight... but even so... I can impart you some self defense technique, so at least you won't get targeted. However... if you really want to get a crash course, it'll be spartan. I'm originally from Dark Area, where we would even use broken claws and fang to tore our opponent when it came to our lives. Playing nice means losing your life. Nothing matters in face of your and your important people's survival. Not honor, not justice... Do you have that level of determination, Yiro?"
The Black Guilmon X stared at the Gabumon, trying to figure just how determined is this one 'mon.
Kon-chan meanwhile nodded at Fuu as a greeting.
Looks like we're all in agreement. Honestly, my suggestion is we should remember back the captain's little tour. How many rooms are there? Where it's possible for them to put their tracker? Does they follow us from the air? I have no idea, but for the moment, we have to stay vigilant. I unfortunately cannot do much but to fix the receiver thing. I believe i'm the only one who tinkered with a lot of electronic appliances, right?
Meanwhile, Fuu... do me a favor and use your D-Nexus to check around the places, then mark it as you clean them up. For Bu, yeah, you have to be my assistant in this endeavor. The faster we fix the object, the faster we could help Fuu...
Anyway, for the meantime, let's think again... Where was it that six of us was seen together back then? Let's rule out the deck for the meantime considering that it's a bit too obvious and if it's really the deck, then they might be following us from the air or the crow nest... or maybe the barrels instead---
...
Kon-chan stopped at her track.
...Koharu might have entered under the deck, but Warg has never left his crow nest back then didn't he? The only time was when they moved that table... so basically, it's either here or the places where the tables are located?
...Fuu, Buu try to check the deck, specifically the table, chairs and barrel. Just say you're going to bring them back down here to clear Yiro's sparring area. If they're negative, resume with what we planned. We might have to check the dining room. Where was it originally?

The one Warg had his hands full with was an interesting task, no doubt. Teaching a Gabumon that had no combat skills whatsoever how to fight. It was a good thing he was more than willing to try!
While slowly muttering every category of a fighter the Guilmon exposed, the pelted pirate just stared at the dragon. “W-Well… I really don’t know. I have never considered myself a fighter before. Be-Besides the obvious implications of the names, I have no idea what those do.” He confessed.
Warg kept going, with Yiro only nodding at his words and listening carefully.
“I’m… not sure.” A melancholic look on his eyes, Yiro admitted. “It’s just that… when I was in the forest, seeing you all fight Barbara... I really wanted to go out of the bushes and help somehow. But… I couldn’t.” With a sigh, he continued. “I just g-got paralyzed. I was… very, very scared. So I think… if I had the strength and knowledge to really fend off in battle somehow, I could have gotten the courage to actually jump in there and help you all!” So that was what has triggered the Gabumon’s desire…
Apparently, Yiro was about to let slip a bit of his backstory. “My brother wanted to be a pirate since he was little. He joined a crew a couple of years ago and I haven’t seen him since. I never wanted to be a pirate or anything. I always thought I was just fine living my boring life in Uka Island, just working at the inn. B-But… Since I met you guys…” Sheer sadness had taken over the Gabumon’s voice now. “… I just want you to be okay.”
After letting out a sigh, he continued. “I just want to be of any help. Be able to be somewhat reliable.” A firm statement, no doubt. “So please, Warg. I don’t really know what you should teach me, but please…” He insisted truthfully. “… please, help me to stop feeling useless. I don’t ever want to feel like that again!”
While it was regularly hard for Erika to keep quiet, it was actually harder to make her talk while somebody told her a story! Especially if it involved new places. Exploration was exciting!
“Digimentals… I think I’ve heard about those before.” She noted once Yui was done with her story. “My father used to research them, along with the huge amount of ancient treasures and objects he used to research. Those help digimon reach a new stage, right? I wonder what Fuu and Bu’s evolved forms would look like!”
It was Yui’s next comment what made the captain blush a little. “I… highly regard all of my crew as well.” She confessed with a faint smile. And that included Yui now! “I actually can’t believe they joined me in the first place. I can't believe they came back after our disastrous adventure at Uka Island. But... ” Her eyes affixed on the floor and a very timid expression on her face, she finished that thought. “… I’m very glad they did, Kayo.” Her crew had given her a second chance as a captain, and she was not going to take it for granted.
Leaving sentimentalities behind, the captain tackled her crewmate’s questions.
“I remember trying sake a couple of years ago. I bought if from a bar in Whitewater that makes Human World's original alcohol. It was very good!” Although, to be honest… “I kind of like any type of booze, though.” A coy smile on her face, the Treasure Hunter scratched the back of her head. "Do you like to drink, Yui?" She asked, a smug expression now taking over her face.
“I have only tasted Digital World pizza, so I don’t know if Human World pizza is too different.” She remarked, right before taking a couple of bites more of that apple in her hand.
Moving forward to the newborn pirate’s next question… “Well… I haven’t ever seen the Human World. Or… if I have, I can’t remember. Memories of my childhood are a bit hazy.” She didn’t sound particularly sad about admitting this. “I think I remember my father, who was a digimon, telling me he couldn’t be my actual father, because I am a human…” She noted. “He wasn’t Sister’s actual father either, though. He adopted both of us and raised us together. I only came to know there was a difference between Sister and I’s species when I was older. For me, humans and digimon are all the same, honestly.”
But that wasn’t the point! Was it? “The thing is… I can’t remember my real parents, the Human World or how I got here. That’s why I’m asking. I usually don’t get the chance to talk to other humans for long. But now two of my best friends are humans! And that's great.”
That actually explained a lot, and raised some other questions!
About Kon, Bu, and Fuu, they seemed to be coming up with a clear game plan to unveil the truth that lied below all of this, if there was any truth to uncover, to begin with, that was! Although Kon's deductions seemed to be leading them somewhere, they still seemed to be in a debating stage about how they should split. Not much to say about them until they made some significant move or got to it. Where was Fuu going to start looking?
About the Radio Receiver? Well, they kind of had to remember by themselves where they had left off!

Yui nodded towards the Captain. "Exactly--that's about how much I know about them, myself. They embody certain traits and help Digimon reach new forms if they're considered worthy enough. I'll be honest when I say that I don't know what they'd look like, either." She replied, though the tamer then offered a tilt of the head. "...Why wouldn't they come back? They were loyal enough to follow you there...Of course they'd come back. Even after what happened at Uka Island. I guess what I'm trying to say is...I think they came back because of you. You're a good captain. A good person with benign intentions, from what Fuu's told me."
Seemed like she knew. Departing from the serious tone she held just now, though... "Well, I don't know what Digital World pizza's like! But I'm glad we can both agree on booze! I do like to drink on occasion--usually on the weekends. I try getting my sister to drink with me but she rarely ever does." Yui quickly grew somber as Erika gave her explanation on why she had been asking about the Human World.
Turns out? She hadn't been from there. Or didn't remember much of it. It was uncertain as to which was the actual case. "Well...I can tell you whatever you want to know, I think. So, feel free to ask me anything, okay?" The tamer offered the captain a bright smile, at that. "How come you don't talk to other humans often, though? I imagine there's a surplus of tamers lurking around, right?"
Starting off with Bu and Kon-chan's efforts, they had left the receiver in the room they were working on it from, so Bu's first action was to go there. And last she recalled, it was booting up before they had dinner, so it should be done by now, right? Below deck and towards that door Erika had opened for them last time.
Fuu, meanwhile, thought for a few seconds. They ate up on the deck...Hm. She'd have to start from the top, so she'd head up there and start looking underneath barrels, tables, chairs and the like. And dragging them down. "...Sorry, making room for you two here." She told Warg and Yiro. She'd check up top first, then she'd go down to check the rooms of the second floor, before she'd finish off with the basement/lowermost floor.
Hopefully she'd have help for the last one.

Warg who was crossing his arms looked straight at Yiro who was grasping for words. The Black Guilmon honestly had no idea how come someone can be a pacifist to this extent... but he guess that's what civilization did to you. Either way, he listened to his words...
"Hmh, passable. Remember that feeling of not wanting to be a burden or useless, and use that to fuel your desire. Very well, I have heard your resolve. But for the meantime you have to still tell me what do you want to do. A frontliner means you're like me, either as the main damage dealer or the one who pulls the enemy's attention at you. It's hard thing to pull and not everyone can do this. The main idea is to protect the backline.
Kon-chan, my sister, is the backside attacker. Her role is to support me from the back, but when she already done enough support, it's her turn to use the opening I made to deal damage against opponent... The backside attacker must not move to frontline. The moment they move to frontline then done we are. They're squishy as hell, and is not good at 1vs1 combat. If they move to the frontline and do the tank's role, that's when you know you've royally screwed.
Support is more specialized. They're the healer, the supporter, the lifeline of the team. If the healer gone down, the team won't survive... I think last time we're lacking dedicated healer that can also soak damage and effect without it affecting them... but I'm not sure that a Gabumon can be a healer specialist.
Whichever role you choose, however, Yiro... I want you to know that you must, at all cost, prioritize yourself. It's fine to be healer, it's fine to be a tanker, it's fine to be a damage dealer, but remember that first and foremost before helping other, you must be able to fight by yourself... Now, tell me, which one that you wanted to be?"
Kon-chan meanwhile remembered that the last thing they did is to turn it on...
"...Let's turn it on again, see if there are any changes... I might need to run my D-Nexus on it just to check..."

“But you promised… we would stay together until the very end of this dream, didn’t you?” “Goodbye, Radish…”
Just like before, Yiro remained quiet and listened carefully to Warg’s explanation. The Gabumon occasionally delivered one or two rapid nods. At the last part of the exposition, his eyes seemed to acquire a special glimmer. “The lifeline of the team…” Those words seemed to echo inside his head as he repeated them while muttering, seemingly thinking about what that meant. “I remember making some beverages and medicinal ointments back in the inn…” He reminisced. “I liked watching other feel better from what I did.” Had he found a potential motivation? “Besides, if you say that’s what you needed when fighting Barbara…” As he uttered this sentence, he seemed to have decided on his role. “… then helping that way is definitely what I want to do!” He declared. A healer, huh? “I-I don’t know any healing technique either, t-though…” Yiro admitted. “I wonder if there’s a way I can at least learn a very basic one. How are digimon supposed to learn techniques when they don’t know any?” That was an interesting question. The pelted pirate seemed to have decided what he wanted his role to be… now, what would be Warg’s approach to teach him some of that? Or would he prioritize teaching him some self-defense tactics first? “Thank you for saying that, Yui…” That same faint smile remaining on her face, Erika timidly glanced at her crewmate for a second and quietly let escape those words. “I am honestly worried they hate me or something like that, after Sister put them through so much trouble back in Uka Island. I know they were under real danger.” Sounding clearly not as full of energy as usual, the captain seemed to be opening up about how she really felt. “But I guess I can’t feel they forgave me until I forgive myself.” She admitted. While the newborn pirate talked about sake and the Human World, the captain remained quiet, listening closely. It seemed, however, that she had touched a sensitive cord with one of her words. “Right. Fuu mentioned you have a sister.” She muttered, her gaze aiming down. About the question Yui had uttered… “Yes. There are a lot of humans around. Believe it or not… I am… a bit shy? I have trouble speaking to others, digimon or humans. It’s not intentional, it’s just that… I’m not used to it. I was raised only having to interact with my father and Sister, principally. In a very short period of time… I lost both of them.” Again, the captain’s voice seemed to denote sheer sadness. “So… I didn’t really know what to do. Since that day… I’ve felt I don’t fit anywhere. That is... until… I met all of you.”Why was she telling all of this to Yui? Was the fact she was new aboard helping Erika open up about her feelings? “I-If… I am allowed to ask a single thing to you...” She started, almost in a whisper. “Then, I would like to know…” Erika gazing down, her hair covering her eyes, asked… “… What is it like growing with your sister?”
Bu and Kon would find the room at the lowest floor of the ship looking pretty much the same as how they had left it the last time they were there. It seemed someone had turned off the receiver during these two days. Or maybe it was set to turn off by itself after a while of being inactive? Either was fine, they just had to press that switch and the machine would be on again. As expected, the starting-up process had ended. The machine now showed a message in digimoj that would translate to something like: “The radar needs to be calibrated. Connect an echo-sounding instrument to the side of the Receiver and throw a probe into the sea to calibrate.”
Okay, they were apparently missing something they had to connect to the side of this thing to get it calibrated and running! Luckily, the screwdriver Bu had found some days ago was still lying on the floor, right next to the Receiver. All they needed to do was unscrew the tray at the side of the gadget again. Next to the battery they had placed in there last time, which seemed to be working smoothly, there was a gap to apparently plug something in. Some type of cable, it seemed? Where should they start looking for this probe instrument?
How was detective Fuu doing, then? Without much trouble, she would be able to inspect the whole area, including the various amount of tables and barrels on deck, moving them around and looking at them from up close. Right when it seemed she wouldn’t find anything of interest, the Dorumon spotted something. There was a mark drawn under one of the barrels! It was very little and did not cover even a quarter of the surface. However, it was there. This was the only barrel labeled with that. Wait, WAIT! Had Fuu seen this mark before? Was her memory that good, in case she had?

Honestly speaking, this talk had gotten a touch...Hm. What was a good word to describe it. Somber? Real? Perhaps real was the appropriate term to utilize here. "Hate you...?" Yui repeated after the captain. "You kidding? Fuu practically loves you even after everything. Bu's happy you two managed to save her life, too." And as the captain spoke, Yui slowly...started to draw a small comparison in her head.
Erika and Mao were somewhat similar--both were not the best with their words to others. Yet, they still meant well. "It's...It's perfectly fine to be that way. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, though..." The woman stepped away from her cooking to walk over towards the pirate and give her a heartfelt hug. "If there's anywhere I bet you'd fit, it's here." Yui spoke before she released the pirate.
Now, what was growing up with Mao like?
"It was...Hm. I'd put it as unique. No two people who have sisters have the same experiences with them growing up, I think. Mao was a really quiet kid, and...I had to protect her from bullies a lot. I even got in trouble for beating the snot out of a skinny twerp with a slingshot once because she gave her a black eye. Basically, I needed to look out for her. I still do, in fact. She lives with me in the real world."
Yui remained quiet for a few moments afterwards. "What about your sister, Captain?" Down with Bu and Kon-chan, it was good to see that they didn't need to wait for it to boot up anymore. She should've guessed it was gonna require an additional instrument or two, though. She signed to Kon. I'm going to head down to the basement to go see if that's in any of the crates. See if there's anything else it can do that doesn't need an instrument and keep your eyes peeled for anything from Fuu.
The Ryudamon then scurried off towards the lowest part of the ship. Were the crates from the previous outing still present? Finally, with Fuu, she had only found something of note at the very last second. A barrel with a marking that seemed familiar to her. Opting to not say anything, she simply took out her D-Nexus and sent a picture of it over towards Kon-chan's with the message 'Found this. Mark might not mean anything good, though it looks familar. I'm gonna inspect it, think I should dump it?'
...She also decided to inspect the contents of the barrel.

"I see, so you want to be a healer. Then I guess we can start from there. Alright, I'll tell you what. First thing about training with me: Toss away your common sense! Digimon's attribute have nothing to do with healing ability! Erm... I think we need a whiteboard for this..." Warg took one out from his Infini-Store.
"Digimon's form came from Data and Digicore," Warg immediately draw not-too-shabby Tyranomon silhouette and an egg shaped kernel on the center. "What you must remember that everything is dictated by Digicore, which is our heart. If you want to be able to do it, then first and foremost, believe that you can do it. no matter what, keep on believing!
Healing ability is not so different. People just going to roll with whatever logic easiest to them! For example, if a Gottsumon want to heal, he obviously cannot do it the same way as a Palmon did! He maybe will use part of his body, turn it into healing crystal and rubs it on an ally. So what's the most important is to make something that you think makes sense for you. Why can Gabumons breathe fires? Why is it not ice? And so on. Question, and wonder why those "senses" make "sense" and why not Gabumon with healing ability.
Perhaps you could summon water, and use that water as healing ability? Or maybe you can make your horn glow and make a protective barrier? It's endless possibility... and once you learned how, you just need to put it in your "macro" so to say.
If an Agumon have to think and imagine everytime he have to use his Pepper Breath, the the execution is delayed!"
Warg draws a thinking Agumon who opens his mouth then letting out fire.
"This process gonna take at least five seconds, THAT'S WAY TOO LONG." he crossed the picture of the Agumon, then draws another picture of Digimon and Digicore. He made a line pointing at the Digicore, then several commands: Baby Flame.exe: 1: Forming fireball 2: Concentrating fireball 3: Launch fireball
"This is what macro essentially is. These three process that you have to do manually has been registered in your Digicore as Baby Flame.exe. Once you registered it in your macro, which is basically executable command shortcut... you cut this bullshit process done to 0.5 seconds! You can execute it almost immediately like a breathing!"
...This talk is getting so meta that it pretty much making Koharu laughs nervously. At that time she got message from Fuu.
...Hmn? This symbol... have she seen it before? She flipped on her nautical chart book. Meanwhile, Warg paused for a bit.
"Say, have you ever seen this before, Yiro?" he showed the picture to the Gabumon.
There's not much that Kon-chan do. For the meantime... how about she start cleaning up this room? She probably should just scan around for whatever reason... Maybe she forgotten something? Time to try scanning for the object, or anything here... Now if only she got metal detector or something, that would have been nifty.

Woah, that was amazing!
Yiro just sat on the floor through the whole explanation, listening carefully to each of Warg’s words and just marveled at his drawings. It all made a lot of sense for him! While the dragon went on, the Gabumon just issued the occasional nod or some “I see…”
Once he was done, the pelted pirate seemed to take a moment to think about his own abilities and how should he focus them on being a healer. Considering he had no previous skills, he could only imagine what kind of attacks he would like to perform to heal others.
“Well… I k-know Gabumons can shoot fire, right? How was that called…?” Was it…? “Petit… fire?” He muttered, tilting his head. “Okay… so m-maybe if I could shoot fire with regenerative properties, I could heal others?” He concluded, gazing at the sky.
That was a bet as good as any! “Okay… so what I need to do is thinking about the attack I want to perform and each step of it, and try to load it into my core…” Thinking about what should his course of action be, the pelted pirate muttered. “T-That sounds complicated!” Rubbing his head with both hands, he reached a non-encouraging conclusion.
Then, he took a seat again. “Forming fire with regenerative properties… concentrating it in my mouth... and then launching it…” He kept mumbling, trying to somehow store that information in his core.
This didn’t seem to be working! Although he seemed to have the concepts well stored in his head, Yiro lacked the self-confidence to go through with this. Maybe he needed a little push? His crewmate had made an excellent work with explaining the theory, which was much necessary. However, it seemed like Yiro would need some help with turning the theory into actions. It was probably time to get more physical.
The training was interrupted by Koharu showing the mark to Yiro. The Gabumon turned his head to face his human crewmate, looking at the photo for a while, blinking.
“I… I think I have seen that somewhere. But... where was it?” He mused. “Well… I haven’t been anywhere except here and Uka Island in a long time… so it must have been at Uka Island. But… where?”
No use. He didn’t seem to be able to remember.
How was Fuu doing, then? Not much better. The barrel didn’t contain anything different from the rest of the barrels. Just some old rope and pieces of metal. It seemed like it was just there to store stuff in case it was needed. Then why would someone put a mark on this? Maybe answers would come if they could remember where they had seen that mark before!
Erika’s eyes became visible once again, once she raised her gaze upon being hugged by Yui. At first, her eyes just widened and she stared into the distance, looking a bit shocked. A timid smirk then started appearing around her mouth. The captain lifted her arms and scooted away from the counter she was previously leaning on to hug the girl back.
“Thank you, Yui…” She muttered.
She definitely needed one of those.
After listening to the whole story about this Mao, Erika let out a giggle that definitely reflected she could somewhat relate to that!
“Your sister sounds like a magnificent girl.” She probably was. “That’s honestly not too different from Sister and me. She was always protecting me from digimon in Krago who picked on me because I was different.” A smile accompanied these words, while she rubbed the back of her head.
“… It’s… funny how things can change.” That same smile slowly turned in a melancholic one. This was definitely not an easy subject to get her to talk about. It would probably be a lot clearer when they arrived at Krago Island, after all. Shaking that sad expression off her face, Erika gave a smile to her crewmate before walking towards the door. “I guess I’ll see how the rest is doing! Good luck with cooking. If you’re better than Fuu, I can’t wait to get a taste of it!” Well, she did love eating and drinking, so cooking for the captain definitely got you one step or two closer to her heart.
With this, Erika left the kitchen.
What about Kon and Bu? Well, they had cleaned the room two days ago, when they first got in there, so there wasn’t much to clean, actually. It didn’t seem to be a place where a lot of stuff was kept either, so no interesting items were laying around. Inspecting the Receiver a bit better would reveal something: there were some letters engraved at its lower part, on the side that didn’t have the removable tray.
“Made by Luna. Take care, airhead pirate.”
Hmm. What did that mean?
Bu was probably on the right track! It was in that basement where Fuu and Erika had made an inventory some days ago, so it was likely whatever type of gadget or trinket they were looking for was there! She opened up the door to reveal the same cluttered room she had seen before, looking basically the same as back then.
‘Food’, ‘Books’, ‘Medicines’, ‘Miscellanies’, ‘Clothes’ and ‘Tools’ were the labels stuck on each of six different crates. There was a seventh crate, but it was not labeled. Where should Bu start looking?

To the knowledge of no one, Yui's sister did have a passive that read Magnificence, so Erika probably -was- correct on that assumption. Nonetheless, it was nice to see that Yui had succeeded in lifting the spirits of the Captain, something that elicited a bright smile from the woman. "Mmm. Please be well, captain. I'll try cooking up something nice for the crew, okay?" Okay. Yui waved at Erika as she departed the room, before she scrambled to getting back to cooking. One thing was for certain.
The tamer had her hands full for the moment. With Bu, the Ryudamon might not have been the smartest tool in the shed, but she wasn't that dumb. If they needed an echo-sounding instrument, then it was likely either in the tools box, or the unlabelled one. She was going to check both for anything that looked like it might be able to be connected to the side of the receiver. The Ryudamon was nothing if not thorough in her search, either. Fuu continued to stare at the mark, wondering why it seemed so familiar before it hit her. She saw it just as they had arrived at the island. At the map. This mark was at the corner of the map, yet what did it even mean? Why was she seeing it again?
"...Yiro, this mark was on the map at Uka Island, does it mean anything?" A simple question that caused the Dorumon to break her silence at the top of the deck.

"Hmmm..." looks like Yiro got it all, but seem to try to aim for the fastest first. Unfortunately, flame like that might not be the best idea if one have no idea how to macro. Knowing this, after Fuu is done with the question, Warg dialed his sister.
"...Yo, Anego. Need a little help here. Your lover boy got a bit of hitch. Between us you're the one who are our designated healer, right? He wanted to be a healer. Told him about the macros and all, I think we're getting somewhere, but he's tripping with about Gabumon shooting fire and use that to heal. So can you give him some pointers?"
"Toss the phone to him," came Kon-chan's voice from the other end. Of course Warg handed it over to Yiro.
"Hey, heard you got a bit of a hitch. I'm still doing stuff on my posts, so sorry I can't really get there to tell you how to do it myself, but... First and foremost, Yiro... Remember that it's easier to harm and destroy than it is to fix and heal. This is true when you have no reference to go for. Rather than going for flame, why not think of water? A water spray isn't as bad as flame if you fail.
Don't worry about failing, everyone trips and fall, even me. There were times where I can't even tie bandages properly. The manual was for human, not for a dino, hah! Well... what I mean to say is... Tips and advice only an go to certain point. When you have to cross a shaky bridge, advice might help, but it will do nothing if you don't want to take the first step. We're all comrades here. We'll support you, and remember, this is not the island where you have to fear voicing your opinions.
Anyway, Warg probably forgot to say this but basically before you register the macro, you must first do it manually. Once you feel it clicked, then you can register it to your macro. It's complicated, but hearing that you understand the theory means you have good head above your shoulders. I'm sure you can do it.
Plus, remember? I promise a reward if you can impress me, heh heh~ Well, back to work, matey!"
Meanwhile, Koharu looked at the barrel of what Fuu found and just in case began to scan first the barrel, then the item inside with her D-Nexus. Obviously while wearing the special glove to handle the material just in case.
Kon-chan returned back to her work after that... She looked at the object again. There's this... Luna, who? Kon-chan poked her head out of the room. "Ay, Captain? Mind giving me a bit of insight here?" she asked, hoping that Erika would hear her.

Just as he had with her brother, Yiro listened closely to each and every one of Kon’s words, paying as much attention as possible, and nodding every now and then. The Gabumon understood quickly how Kon was overall putting the same concept Warg had put on the table, with the addition of trying a slightly different approach for his first technique. Yiro assimilated every word, trying to memorize the core of each idea and beyond.
“I-I will do my best!” He stated with his eyes closed, giving the D-Nexus back to Warg quickly, like getting away from the embarrassment that last sentence caused on him. His claws clenched into a fist, the Gabumon gave a firm nod to his master and took a seat on the ground again, trying to concentrate. This time for Kon!
“A water spray with healing properties… a water spray with healing properties…” He muttered to himself while sitting on the deck. It would probably take some time until he could master this concept and accomplish something. Warg had done everything he could so far. He should give his trainee some time to advance by himself and they could continue training later.
While he meditated about what he had learned and tried to spray water out of his mouth, Yiro was approached by Fuu, who seemed to have come to something. “Oh! Right. That’s where I saw it!” The Gabumon nodded repeatedly. Then, another claw was placed at his mouth while his expression turned into a pensive one. “I actually have no clue what it means. Maybe it’s the symbol of a pirate crew? I don’t remember seeing it in any flag or so, but I do know many pirates don’t carry their symbols on their flag.” That brought an interesting question. “I wonder if we have a symbol for our crew…” He wondered.
“A-Anyways! Can you remember if there was something wrong with that map or the plaque that was next to it? I certainly can’t remember but… maybe that can help you understand why was that mark there.” Hmmm… Time for Fuu to put her memory to work again!
Koharu would have no luck scanning the items inside the barrel. Nope, these were definitely just regular items. Instead, she would notice during this time they had gone by another island. When she was called for lunch later on, the ship would have gone through 4 islands in total. She better kept up with her chart!
Well, Bu would be right! That was the crate where she should be looking for that probe. Although it would take her a while to go through all of it, the wooden deposit actually had three of these echo-sounding instruments, each of them with hoes of different sizes and different types of connectors. While this didn’t belong to the ship originally (as she had mentioned before, these creates were purchased by Erika to some Garma Isles' merchants), it was still possible one of them worked, hopefully!
Well, she knew she had no choice but taking all of them. Once Bu got back to the Radio Receiver room, it would be a matter of time finding out if any of them worked. However! They would probably be interrupted by Yui. It was almost 3 pm and it was time to have lunch. Naturally, they all had to eat together, probably on deck, right?
That was a good chance for Kon to ask Erika whatever she wanted to ask. Besides, maybe they wanted to tell their captain about some of their findings? And there was, of course, the most important thing for Erika: What had Yui cooked for them?

It took a few moments of genuine thinking for Fuu to figure out what the issue was. There -was- something wrong, yes, but it was with more than just the plaque...and the map. "...I think I've got it." She uttered. "The names of certain places were different than what they truly were. The forest, for example. I think you called it something else than what we had assumed the map said. Why was that?" She was eyeing the barrel with a hint of suspicion, now. Aha, Bu guessed correctly, and she happily proceeded back to the receiver, ready to test out the probes and find out which one was compatible with the reciever as much as she reasonably could. Of course, the efforts would be then interrupted by the timely call of lunch. Bu and Fuu would break from what they were doing to go take their places up deck.
And finally, what did Yui cook up for them?
Sea bass. No, really. When one took into account that Erika and Fuu had sorted through a number of different edible objects, fish was among them, and Yui sought to seize the opportunity to serve the crew sea food with a healthy side of fruit. Granted, the seafood itself had some spices added to it to enhance flavor.
...She was hoping they liked it. She really was.

Indeed, there are a lot of things to question for the meantime... but regardless, Koharu was quick to draw what she's missing. But still... this mark, it bugs the hell out of her. She made a note of it in one of her books, just to make sure that she's not missing anything.
Strange drawing on the map... somehow found on the barrel in the ship. Might be a sign for something?
Either way, she knows the answer for this one. "Jolly Roger for our crew most likely bear resemblance to the captain, you know? Well, what I know is that I have seen it the first time I rode this ship... but I don't think it's like this at all? If anything, wouldn't Chaos Pirate or Barbara have this sort of insignia? Maybe we should ask the captain..."
One thing for sure is that Kon-chan pretty much just tried everything in quick succession. She knows that her captain is rather adamant with the crew bonding things. As a workaholic sadly she's not the type that really likes abandoning a job midway. Especially before everything is calibrated... At any rate, she hoped that it'll be enough time until she's called by the chef.
Either way the moment she's called, she goes up to the deck... most likely with another huff of resignation and annoyance if she did not find the right one and connected it before she got called.
