Top eight, huh? Its time to make this a little more on the nose!Twisted MinesOwen, Vee, and Gummy might not find themselves in a bombastic battlefield like the others. Starting off, they would find themselves in an underground cavern – each group starting at a different end of the mine. Both parties would be able to see each-other, a good two hundred yards apart – and immediately in front of them is a well mined quarry, creating a wide, spacious battlefield, lined with sharp, jagged rocks at either end. But to the immediate left and right of the main path is a long, arcing corridor, creating a circular path around the main arena. These pathways are narrow, offering little room to dodge in a one-on-one fight – but to those who can use it effectively, perhaps it would be a decent way to sneak around. A punishing environment suited for a rough fighter, combined with a dark cavern that provides advantage for those with greater numbers… what would prevail? Owen versus Vergil
Justice starts!

This tourney was proving to be an event that Justice, Vee and Gummy won't forget for a long time. The first round had them pitted against a Tamer named Ayumi and her partner Solomon. It was a fierce, albeit short match, but it still kept the twins on their toes since the Monodramon knew how to handle two opponents attacking at once.
Their second match with Xros Silence however, was literally a match made in hell. The three had an antagonistic relationship with the Xros General and his Digimon from a previous encounter. Tadayoshi's Commandramon severely injured Gummy, rooting a bitter animosity in Justice, so much so that he threatened to kick his ass before the tourney even began, and had to be forcefully escorted out of the room by his Digimon. Xros Silence were the literal embodiment of everything that was wrong according to Justice. But after razing the arena, bombing runs, aerial combat, and slicing a bullet clean in half that had the power to mortally wound a Mega level Digimon, the trio barely managed to succeed, moving up to the next round.
For this round, Vee and Gummy were wearing a spherical object on their chests, small enough to not be cumbersome, but noticeable enough for everyone to see. The rules of this round being that they either had to destroy, or rip the maker off of their opponent. Something like Search and Destroy from Call of Duty, but less explosions.
"Honestly, I didn't think we would make it this far." Justice commented, looking around the cavern they were in. It was akin to the coal mines back on Earth, only more spacious for a battle like this.
Vee smiled, unsurprised that this Tamer was still shocked they actually won. "You doubt yourself too much. You gotta learn to take a leap of faith when it comes to these sort of things, Justice. After that, you'll be as light as a beautiful butterfly, right bro?"
The Veemon was only met with silence as Gummy hid behind Justice's leg, holding it on for dear life. The Gumdramon shaking and sweating up a mad storm. Surprised, he took a step forward towards him with concern. Before he could ask what was wrong, the purple dragon pointed out to the other side of the battlefield--to their opponent. Their opponent was none other than the Gaomon named Owen; Bezil's dad.
"C-crap! I'm not ready for this," he managed to mutter out. Despite the Gumdramon being prepared to face his last two opponents, nothing prepared him to face his soon-to-be-boyfriend's dad. Daddy's freak him out!

While he had recovered from the wounds left behind from the intense battle with Ophelia, Owen the Gaomon could still feel the remnant pain from the heavy blows she had landed on him. While he didn't feel they would impede him, they at least laid it home that this tournament was serious, and every challenge that he faced would never be underestimated.
Thus, as he advanced to the next round, a new opponent faced him. The Gaomon peered through the darkness of his surroundings. It seemed they were located within a vast underground mine. Furthermore, there were pathways either side of the battlefield - which Owen would pay attention to. They would allow flanking opportunities if he wasn't paying attention, or could even give himself opportunities if they arose.
When he had looked at the terrain for long enough, the Gaomon brushed some residue dust from his khaki tunic and looked across the battlefield to see three familiar faces - ones he had last seen in Whitewater during a hurricane. The human named Justice, and his twin partners, Vee and Gummy. Owen gave a small smile at that. He knew that his son Bezil had some developing feelings for the Gumdramon. But alas, it seemed that today they would face each other in battle.
Furthermore, Owen was aware of the new rules of the match. At the start, he would have to wear what essentially was his digicore on an exposed part of his body. And for this, he chose to locate it on his sternum, or upper chest. Owen was a boxer by heart, and it would be a very poor boxer indeed that let that part of his body be exposed.
"G'day there!" he called through the cavern, then summoned his inner power to digivolve. Owen wasn't going to hesitate here. It was a tradition of the 7/71st that combat was the best way to get to know another digimon, and, by crossing swords (or more accurately, fists) with Gummy and Vee, he'd learn more about these two than words could convey.
"Gaomon... Warp-Digivolve to...!"
Would Gummy be a worthy consort to his son Bezil? That was yet to be seen. For now, the 4'7" blue and white dog digivolved to the 9' tall cybernetic beast warrior, jetpack forming on his back and blasting its blue flame, levitating himself into the air.
"MachGaogamon!"
With that, Owen was quick to make his first action. He let forth a loud, haunting howl that echoed through the cavern, leaving forth a spectral glow on his body. Most obviously though, his golden eyes had now turned red, and he watched his opponents intently, his blue jets glowing more intensely as well.
He noted that Gummy was hiding behind his partner, and he growled with disapproval. "What?! You're that scared of me?!" he asked. "If you cower like that, do you think my brave little son will favour you?! Get out here and fight like a warrior!"
For this battle, Owen's "sphere" will be located on his upper chest.
Owen warp-digivolves to MachGaogamon.
Owen uses Lunatic High on himself.
Lunatic High - Owen howls wildly, unleashing the power of the Nature Spirit within. For 3 turns, his strength and speed are increased by 30%, at the cost of him growing a very 'berserker' style mentality where he has to make efforts to stop attacking. [Cooldown: 3 turns].
Lunatic High duration: 0/3 turns.

Gummy's left ear twitched upon hearing the newly evolved MachGaogamon's comment. Slowly, he released his clutch on his Tamer's leg and took a few steps in front of him and Vee. A hot crimson rage filled the young Gumdramon's heart as his fears quickly scattered like embers over the sand. He growled, his short fur ruffling. He puffed up his chest, slowly inhaling. He was about to give Bezil's dad an earful. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME YOU GODAMM ASS LICKER?!" Gummy yelled. "NO WAY IN HELL I'M SCARED OF YOU, AND I'LL NEVER BE! YOU THINK I'M NOT GOOD FOR BEZIL? FINE! I'LL JUST KICK YOUR GODAMM ASS SO HARD THAT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SIT DOWN FOR DAYS! THEN THAT'LL PROVE THAT I'M GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR AMAZING SON! YOU HEAR ME YOU BLUE, SLOBBERING MUTT?!"He panted heavily, making Justice and Vee go wide-eyed in response. The Veemon slowly raised his hand at Owen. "Uhh...let's have a good match, Mr. Owen sir," he said, laughing nervously. The MachGaogamon had done it now, cause once his brother got angry, it would take a lot to calm him down. The Gumdramon turned his to his Tamer, his eyes glowing a deep teal color. Seeing what that glare meant, Justice nodded, knowing that it was time to let the fists do the talking. His Digivice lighted up in a flash of orange shimmer. The twins were immediately obscured, the lights overtaking their bodies and causing the young man to shield his eyes. "Veemon, Super-Digivolve to...AreoVeedramon! "Gumdramon, Super-Digivolve to... Arresterdramon Superior Mode!!""Ombra!" Wasting no time,Gummy punch the air rapidly, launching multiple air pressured attacks at the MachGaogamon as his first move. Despite not being up close and personal, they were enough to knock an Ultimate Digimon off their feet if they weren't careful enough. Vee on the other hand, hovered in the hand, launching at Owen, before suddenly making 45 degree turn, now aiming at his peripheral spot. "Magum Crash!" Vee's voice bellowed off the cavern, aiming to punch the MachGaogamon square in the face with a fiery, crackling first. Despite his size, he was much faster than those would initially perceive. A double pincer attack was the two brother's first plan of assault, as well as to see what the famous Owen was capable of. Comabt Log:Vee and Gummy both super-digivolve to Areoveedramon and Arresterdramon Superior Mode respectively!Gummy attacks Owen with Ombra.Vee attacks Owen with Magum Crash, aiming at his blind spot.Ombra - Blasts the opponent with pressured attacks from his palms and slam into the enemy with terrific force Magum Crash - Punches the opponent with a blazing fist. Owen was honestly startled a little at first at what Gummy said to him, then his mouth broadened into a wolfish grin, baring all his teeth. "Heh... I knew my Bezil would fall for a spunky one like you." he retorted. He didn't mind the insults, seeing as they were about to throw much worse at each other.
As Gummy and Vee digivolved to their Ultimate forms too, Owen focused entirely on the battle ahead. He could see their strategy at once. Gummy was providing covering fire while Vee was attempting to close in for a melee attack. 'Valid strategy for two against one.' he thought. But he was firing from too far away, and Owen's increased speed from his jetpack and Lunatic High meant that he could see the projectiles coming.
And his response? The blue flames from his jetpacks burst into full flame as he flew to face Vee head-on. By doing so, as well as using his increased agility, he would dodge the blasts of Gummy's Ombra as they slammed into the walls of the underground cavern. And instead, Owen would face Vee's punch with determined movements.
With his large mechanical hands, he would catch the punch before it hit his face, but he cringed in pain from the heat of the flames on that fist. Still though, Owen was powered up and ready to retaliate. With Vee now within melee range, his jetpacks burst into full fire, and he would retaliate with multiple punches of his own, spiralling around Vee, punching and kicking in a deadly combination - his Wild Onslaught attack.
Furthermore, he added onto that combo by spinning his knuckle as he fought on - combining his Wild Onslaught with his Winning Knuckle, meaning that Vee would be taking two attacks at the same time if he was unable to properly counter in time, and aimed to send him plummeting onto the jagged rocks below.
Owen uses his increased agility from Jetpack Flight and Lunatic High to evade Gummy's Ombra as he flies directly at Vee.
Combat Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
Lunatic High: Increased Attack power and Speed by 30% [1/3 turns].
Owen catches Vee's punch with his left hand, but still takes damage from the blazing fire element of it.
Owen retaliates against Vee with a combination of Wild Onslaught and Winning Knuckle (uncharged).
Wild Onslaught - With his jets bursting at full energy, Owen speeds around his opponent, launching powerful punching attacks from them at all angles. If they're lighter than he is (200kg), then they get launched into the air if this attack hits. When done, Owen slams them into the ground, whether he launches them or not, rendering them immobilized for 1 turn. [Cooldown: 3 turns].
Winning Knuckle - Owen draws his fist back, the cyber power fist beginning to spin, then aims a heavy punch at the enemy. If he chooses to do so, Owen can 'charge' his attack by spending 1 post increasing the spinning momentum, then punches the next turn. If he does that, not only is its power increased by 75%, it can pierce through any active shields that the opponent may have set up, but doesn't go through defensive buffs.
Wild Onslaught cooldown: 0/3 turns.

The Arresterdramon was not entirely surprise that Owen dodged his attacks -- they were about two hundred yards from each other and his attack was east to telegraph, which gave their opponent enough time to dodge, so to say that he predicted that to happen is entirely an understatement. However, he and Vee expected him to do that. When it comes to fighting together, they would often start off with fairly simple attacks to gauge their opponent in order to see what they were capable of. They would either start off with rushing at their opponent with a flurry of punches from both angles, or one of them using a long-range attack so the other could rush at them as their focused on dodging the first attack. But what the twins didn't expect was that they weren't dealing with a run-on-the-mill meathead opponent; they were dealing with a decorative war hero. Vee's punch was swiftly caught by Owen. Before he could retaliate with another Magum Crash, the MachGaogamon unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks, seemesley coming from all directions. He felt like Owen was treating him like a punching bag, just waiting for him to reel. The MachGaogamon finishes his combo with a heavy punch, sending him tumbling to the ground. Landing, he felt his back being pinched with numerous jagged rocks. They weren’t sharp enough to impale, but they still hurt nonetheless. “Arg! You’re one tough customer, Mr. Owen.” Vee commented, picking himself back up,his mouth broadening into a smile. The thrill of that encounter jolted his systems, boosting his fighting spirit. “But we’re just getting started!”Summoning dual energy blades on his wrists, Gummy would come to his side. Attacking at different directions wouldn’t work at the moment, so instead, the plan is to attack at the same time. Using their wings, the twins launched themselves at Owen, their attacks at the ready. “Archivolt!” The Arresterdramon spun in a 360 degree rotation, the spin amplifying the blue flames on his tail, aiming to slash at his center mass. “Twisted Sabers!” Vee would ascend a bit, bringing down both energy blades down in an overhead swing at Owen. The plan was still the same; overwhelm the jetpack doggo with quick, precise slashes. But this time, they were going to be extra cautious. One bad move would get them into real trouble. Combat Log:Caught off guard, Vee took the full brunt of Owen’s Wild Onslaught and Winning Knuckle. Vee and Gummy then charge at Owen, with Gummy attacking with Archivolt, aiming at the MachGaogamon’s center mass, while Vee ascends over head and attacks with Twisted Sabers in a slashing combo. Active Passive: "I'm Getting Excited!"- Due to his love for fighting, Vee's fighting spirit skyrockets, boosting his strength by 30%. Lasts for three turns. Four-post cooldown. Combat Passive: Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks. Archivolt—Spins his Tail Anchor 360 degrees towards the opponent to skewer them. One post cooldown. Twister Saber—Summons energy blades on his wrist and slashes at the opponent rapidly; the blades being strong enough to cute through steel. Cooldown/s: Archivolt: 0/1

Owen wasn't taking this battle lightly. He knew that he was at a disadvantage in numbers from the start - fighting twin digimon. That meant he had to pay attention to both at the same time. But, he had suffered the same odds in his vast military career before. He would simply have to deal with the situation he was given with. So far, he had focused all his efforts on Vee, and for the time being, that would be his focus.
He had landed a good blow on Vee in his first move. And he fully intended to follow that up with more moves. While Gummy had been the one to throw down the verbal challenge, Owen knew that both of them were his foes here. And thus, he would focus his best in knocking Vee out of the match before turning his attention to Gummy, at least to bring their numbers situation back into a favourable position.
Thus, he watched as they prepared to launch a double attack at him. Both of them approaching him with melee attacks. Owen gritted his teeth. He could evade one, but not both attacks. Thus he put all of his effort into using his jetpack thrusters to avoid the strike from Gummy, the blade from his tail crossing from under him. But that just led him into the attack from Vee, his Twisted Sabers striking his shoulders hard. While the attack was nasty, it didn't take him out of the battle yet.
"Jet Flamethrower!" he snarled, aiming blasts of blue fire at the both of them as they got near. He intended this as a counter-attack, and thus took the brunt of the attacks they launched at him. They struck hard, but were within his pain threshold for the moment.
Furthermore, as he recovered, he turned his attention to the immobilized and prone Vee, his wrists rotating. "Micro Missiles!" he snarled, launching 16 warheads at the prone AeroVeedramon. While Owen was starting to get hit back, he had no intention of lowering pressure from his opponents.
Owen uses his increased agility to evade Archivolt, but takes full damage from Twisted Sabers.
Owen uses Jet Flamethrower to attack both Gummy and Vee.
Owen follows up with Micro Missiles, aiming squarely at Vee.
Owen is boosted by Lunatic High (Attack and Speed boosted by 30%): 2/3 turns.
[RAM Upgrade] Jet Flamethrower: Owen switches his jets' mode from propulsion to attacking. He aims the nozzles of his jetpack forward and unleashes a blast of hot fire, causing area-of-effect damage to targets standing within 20m of where he is aiming. [Cooldown: 1 turn]
[RAM Upgrade] Micro Missiles: Owen's mechanical fists spin, then launch 8 small missiles each, with each having the strength of 1/8th of an Ultimate level basic attack. He can send 16 missiles to 1 target; 8 missiles to 2 targets, 5 missiles to 3 targets or 4 missiles to 4 targets. The missiles track toward the targets, but are not impossible to evade, and explode if they miss. [Cooldown: 1 turn].
Wild Onslaught Cooldown: 1/3 turns. Jet Flamethrower Cooldown: 0/1 turns. Micro Missiles Cooldown: 0/1 turns.

Despite Gummy's attack missing the mark yet again, it was still considered a win since Vee's slash attack was right on target, landing on Owen's shoulder. That's how their pincer combination works when they fight together; attacking with good sync with one another, forcing their opponent to decide which attack to dodge and which attack to get hit by. It was one of the best ways to pressure their opponent, and the results were showing. The MachGaogamon in response to Vee's blow utilized the nozzles of his jetpack and aimed it directly at both Vee and Gummy, unleashing a stream of fire at them. The twins shielded their faces with their arms, taking the brunt of the counter-hit, the hot flames searing on their scales. Since Gummy was wearing full body Dragon Armor, which was made of rubberized materials along with Vee's scales, they didn't catch on fire luckily. Otherwise it'd be a bit embarrassing for two dragons to catch on fire. Still prone, Owen had his eyes set on Vee, and launched a total of 16 missiles with each of them having his name on them. Seeing them coming, the AreoVeedramon had to react fast. Otherwise, the sphere on his chest would be at risk of getting destroyed. Thankfully with this next move, it didn't require him to even lift a finger. "Wind Guardian!" A gust of wind began to rotate around him, like a mini tornado. As the first missile came hurling at him, instead of exploding at his face, each missile started to deflect off him in adjacent of the direction of the wind, one by one. Some of them exploded on the ceiling, causing some rubble to fall down. Others impacted the ground, exploding as a result. During the resulting chaos, Gummy rushed to Owen's position head-to-head, dodging any stray missiles. He's a bit peeved that the MachGaogamon decided to focus on Vee and not him, especially after all those insults he gave him. "Prism Garret!" The Arresterdramon created illusions of himself around Owen, before each clone, including himself, would slash at him with their respective Tail Anchor. Combat Log:Vee and Gummy take damage from Jet Flamethrower. Vee uses Wind Guardian, the shield deflecting each of the warheads from Micro Missles across the battlefield. Vee is boosted by "I'm Getting Excited." Strength boosted by 30%. 1/3 turns remain. Gummy attacks Owen with Prism Garret.Active Passive: I'm Getting Excited!"- Due to his love for fighting, Vee's fighting spirit skyrockets, boosting his strength by 30%. Lasts for three turns. Four-post cooldown.
Combat Passive: Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks. Wind Guardian - Forms a temporary wind shield around himself that deflects range attacks launched at him. Knockback up to those Ultimate level or below. Reduces damage from Megas by 50%. Lasts for about two turns. Two post cooldown. Prism Garrett - Creates illusions of himself that surrounds and slashes the opponent at once. Causes moderate Bleeding Effect (Damage over Time) that lasts for three turns. Three post cool down. Cooldown/s:Archivolt: 1/1; ready for use. Wind Guardian: 0/2.

Owen growled with pain once the twister saber struck. Damn, these guys were giving him as much of a challenge as Ophelia. But he knew one thing about twins - being father to four of them. While they were strong together, if split apart and rendered unable to complete their combination attacks, they were very weak indeed. Which was why he had trained his sons Matty and Jimmy to stay together as much as possible. He had tried the same with his daughters Bu and Fuu, but they hadn't spent as much time together.
Now, Owen was locked in to his strategy - to knock one of the twins out of the battle first before turning his full attention to the other. It would take longer, yes, but this old wardog had the endurance to get through that. Hence why his chief focus was on Vee.
His Jet Flamethrower struck true, but Vee successfully defended against his Micro Missiles attack, sending the warheads flying all through the cavern, blasting holes in the walls, floor and ceiling. Still, Owen was charged up by his Lunatic High, and was determined to attack further.
But not to the degree that he'd forget about other threats. He saw Gummy attempt to launch his Prism Garrett attack, but Owen was on to him. Thanks to Owen's cybernetic enhanced senses, he knew exactly which one was the solid form and which were the mirages, sensing the smell, sound and heat from the original. And so when the real Gummy sent his attack flying, Owen knew which strike to fly under and which would not affect him.
And through this, he charged straight to Vee, his mechanical fist spinning at high speed, aiming to deliver a massive punch to whatever defenses Vee had left. And on top of this, a second before Owen would expect to make contact with his fist, he would follow this up with a "Howling Cannon!" opening his mouth wide and blasting a shockwave of wind that would render Vee to more difficultly focus on recharging his attacks, and possibly disrupt his defense to his punch before it connected, as well as being close enough to pass through his Wind Guardian effect.
As he did so, meanwhile, his red eyes changed back to yellow, indicating his Lunatic High effect was now at an end.
Owen uses his Jetpack Flight and Cyber-Enhanced Senses combat passives to see through Gummy's attempt to strike him and avoid it, compounded with the increased speed of Lunatic High.
Combat Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
Combat Passive Ability: Cyber-enhanced Senses - Owen's natural beast senses have become even more accustomed to hunting. This means that Owen is unaffected by attacks that compromise his vision, or attempt to trick him through illusions.
Owen is boosted by Lunatic High (Attack and Speed boosted by 30%): 3/3 turns [ends now]
Owen closes distance to Vee and aims both a point-blank range Howling Cannon with an [uncharged] Winning Knuckle, which would increase the cooldown of both Wind Guardian and "I'm Getting Excited" by 1 turn.
Howling Cannon - Owen takes a deep breath, then roars and launches a powerful blast of ultrasonic energy at the enemy, reaching an area-of-effect of 25m. This attack not only deals damage from the blast, but disorients their minds a little, increasing any active cooldowns they might have by 1 post. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Wild Onslaught Cooldown: 2/3 turns. Jet Flamethrower Cooldown: 1/1 turns [ready] Micro Missiles Cooldown: 1/1 turns [ready] Howling Cannon Coolwodn: 0/3 turns.

Seeing as though he summoned illusions of himself to discombobulate his opponent, Gummy was assure that Owen would mistakenly attack one of his mirages, giving him a window to use his Tail Anchor to deliver a mean slash attack. Unfortunately, thanks to the MachGaogamon's heighten senses, he was able to distinguished the Arresterdramon from the mirages of himself and flew under his attack. Gummy couldn't help but growl that his attack didn't land as he hoped. He was a bit confident with that attack, seeing as it confuses the opponent. Well one thing was clear in this tournament, especially close to the semifinals: never become overconfident. Seeing that Owen still had his sights on him, Vee planted his feet firmly on the soil. As Owen came in to strike at him, the AeroVeedramon would catch his Winning Knuckle strike with both hands, now knowing whenever he was going to use that move due to his robotic fists rotating. But he still felt pain from catching the blow. Owen however, would follow up by releasing an ultrasonic blast from his mouth, penetrating his Wind Guardian shield and and in turn would make his head start to spin a little bit in the process. Was this how Gummy felt when WarPteramon used one of those cards to make him feel like he was about to vomit? Most likely, since his ears were ringing like crazy, as if multiple Shoutmon suddenly banded together to make loudest, most annoying song. Vee then looked up for a brief second, noticing the stalactites above them; an idea popped up. To prevent Owen from getting another shot at him, Vee would kick Owen away from him and began to charge an attack from his mouth in retaliation. "Vee Breath Arrow!" Instead of aiming at his opponent, the AeroVeedramon would aim his blue, beam breath at the ceiling, where numerous stalactites were hanging above the ceiling. His attack exploded, causing the sharp formations to fall at them. Vee would uses his wings to fly out of harms way. If Owen was able to dodge in time, well, that would leave him wide open. Through this, Gummy would charge straight at Owen, coating one hand with a red ball of flame, and the other with a blue ball of flames. Cupping his hands together, the two flames combined into a single point. "Crimson Flare!" His hands thrust forward to shoot out a streaming, powerful beam of energy, aiming to deal more than to just leave Owen's fur a scorching mess. Combat Log:Vee catches Owen's Winning Knuckle with both hands, winching a bit from the impact of the force.Vee gets struck head on by Howling Cannon, the ultrasonic wave going through his Wind Guardian, increasing the cooldown of Wind Guardian and "I'm Getting Excited" by one once they both go into cooldown. In retaliation, Vee srikes at Owen with a swift kick, then uses Vee Arrow Breath to aim at the stalactites above, utilizing them to distract Owen into dodging them.Vee Breath Arrow - Shoots out a V-shaped heat beam from his mouth that can incinerate an opponent. Two post cooldown.Vee is boosted by "I'm Getting Excited"; 2/3 turns remain.Vee's Wind Guardian is still active; 1/2 turns remain.Seeing his brother's plan, Gummy then charges at Owen, and attacks with Crimson Flare.Crimson Flare - Gummy coats one fist with red flames and the other with blue flames. He combines them to unstable, purple ball, then releases it into a large, destructive energy wave. Two-post cooldown Active Passive: "I'm Getting Excited!" - Due to his love for fighting, Vee's fighting spirit skyrockets, boosting his strength by 30%. 2/3 turns remain. Four-post cooldown. +1 cooldown due to Howling Cannon. Combat Passive:Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.

As Owen closed in with his Winning Knuckle, he was somewhat surprised to see Vee counter it with his own claws. Ordinarily digimon would baulk at the sight of his fists spinning like drills, but not this digimon. Still, he had to be constantly vigilant for those that stood up to his tactics better than others. And dragon digimon, in his experience, were way more dangerous than others.
Still, his Howling Cannon follow-up hit its mark, which was his main aim. But now his next aim was to get out of this situation, with both a prepared Vee and Gummy preparing their counter-attacks against him.
Owen felt Vee's kick smartly, and instinctively flew away from him when he saw him preparing a counter-attack. He didn't know if he could dodge at this range, but dodging was of no option here since Vee didn't aim for him, but the stalactites on the ceiling!
Owen reacted fast. He saw what was going on. Vee aiming to hurt him with falling rocks, and Gummy preparing his projectile attack. There was no conceivable was Owen could avoid all of this, so his tactic was to brace for it and prepare.
"Emergency Bolster!" he snarled, and summoned forth a green light from himself, coating his body. He felt his sustained wounds heal, and a green light bolstered the rest of his body. He was struck several times by falling rocks, and took a nasty hit to his leg by Gummy's Crimson Flare as he swerved to evade a direct attack. But he was still in this match.
"Micro Missiles!" he snarled again, once more raising his fists and aiming a burst of 16 missiles straight at Vee. He would no longer have his Wind Guardian to defend him now, so he would have to deal with them with his own power.
As Owen repositioned himself at the other side of the cavern, he panted, but grinned a satisfied smile. These two were a challenge, he'd quickly admit. But he had yet to determine if they were enough to overcome him.
Still, he was determined to knock Vee out first, then see if Gummy could back up the words he said at the start of this match.
Owen uses Emergency Bolster to heal himself and increase his defense by 25% for 2 turns.
Emergency Bolster - Owen raises his power fists so the yellow light turns green, sending a green ray of energy over himself or an ally. The effect of this heals a moderate amount of damage, and also increases their defense by 25% for 2 turns. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Emergency Bolster effect: 1/2 turns.
Owen is struck by several stalactites that fell from the ceiling from Vee's V-Breath Arrow and is struck in the leg by Gummy's Crimson Flare as he attempts to evade. (Damage reduced by 25%)
Owen uses Micro Missiles in full against Vee.

Smoldering limestone fills the air as the stalactites that Vee targeted began to fall one by one, sticking Owen, who had coated himself in a green aura just before then, his shoulder wound that the AreoVeedramon inflicted earlier mending itself. On top of that, Gummy’s Crimson Flare also hit the mark, impacting the MachGaogamon in the leg as he swerved to avoid a full bruntal attack. They were satisfied to see their plan, for the most part, landed as intended. They weren’t the type of Digimon that would strategize before making a move; they were all about ‘balls-to-the wall’ carnage and not letting the enemy attempt to get the one-up on them. The planning stuff would usually be left up to Justice since he was the brains of the trio. Like an automobile, they were the car, and Justice was the one behind the steering wheel. Maybe now they can try and make elaborate plans similar to that to catch enemies off-guard next time. They had to cut their little celebration short though, because right after narrowly avoiding a full blast of dragon flame from Gummy, Owen retaliated with Micro Missiles, all sixteen missiles coming straight to Vee yet again. This wouldn’t be a problem since those missiles wouldn’t stand a chance against his defensive countermeasure, Wind Guardian. Yes, that would be the case...if his windshield was still around him. He didn’t realize it earlier, but it had disappeared when he had fired Vee Breath Arrow at the stalactites. Damn! He was too focused on landing a hit on Owen that he didn’t even notice. Dodging was out of the question; the missiles were traveling too fast for him to evade all of them. So to protect himself and the sphere on his chest, Vee outstretched his wings, quickly gathering energy. “Vee Wing Blade!” Vee bellowed, shooting two blasts of heat in the shape of a V from each wing. One of them managed to destroy four missiles coming at him while the other destroyed only three. That left only nine remaining. He turned around, hugging the sphere on his chest as he was pelted by the remaining warheads simultaneously, sending him careering forward onto the ground below. His back was all scourched up, but luckily his sphere didn’t suffer damage. It was a small price to pay for not paying attention to his shield when it was still up. Seeing this, Gummy’s anger quickly boiled, not at his brother getting hit-- he knows his brother can take a little pain, but at the fact that his Owen was not giving him the same amount of attention as he was giving to Vee. It was like he wasn’t even there, and it was infuriating him. “Hey, you blue mutt!” Gummy yelled. “I feel like your playing favorites by only attacking my knucklehead of a brother. Let me show you...WHY THAT’S A BAD IDEA!”
Flying up into the air, he started to gather up energy, the energy flowing from the center of his chest to the tip of his wings. Knowing what the Arresterdramon was about to do, Vee flew into the air above his brother, making sure that he wouldn’t get caught up in what’s about to happen. “Crimson Bolide!” The energy expelled into numerous fire bullets, raining down on the battlefield. He made sure that he was aiming in Owen’s vicinity and not Justice’s. He doesn’t want to turn his Tamer into a shishkebab. The only one that deserves that kind of roasting is Owen! Combat Log:During his strategy to use the stalactites to put Owen in a pinch, Vee failed to notice that Wind Guardian had died down as he was attacking Owen.
Vee uses Vee Wing Blade to destroy seven of Owen's Micro Missiles to mitigate the brutal assault, with only nine of them hitting him in the back due to protecting his sphere.Vee Wing Blade - Vee flies into the air and shoots two heat blast in the shape of a V from his wings. Owen took a moment to re-assess the situation. So far, these twin dragon digimon were teaming up on him with wave upon wave of attacks. They were rather strong with this, but he would have to play harder if he was to be able to overcome them.
After striking Vee, he hoped that the AeroVeedramon would soon be knocked out of the battle. After all, that was his strategy - take one twin out so he could focus on the other. However, this was easier said than done. Especially when he had to endure attacks from both of them. He'd have to do this sooner than later.
Owen heard Gummy, and was satisfied at his outrage. Good. Get that hothead flustered and the experienced soldier digimon knew that if it came down to just one against one, he'd have the psychological advantage. Having raised twins himself, he knew that a twin would grow very distressed, but very dangerous as well if their twin fell.
Owen saw Vee fly above Gummy, and saw that he was preparing something. Instinctively, Owen made his jets burst at full power, pursuing him through the air. It seemed Gummy was about to prepare an area-of-effect attack, and Owen wasn't about to let Vee get off the hook this easily.
"Make me." Owen responded to Gummy's outburst, but gasped as the Crimson Bollide erupted from Gummy. Owen wasn't close enough to Vee for the attack to strike him, so he did his best to endure the flames, the ground below igniting with flames.
Since Owen had made measures to fly up to the same height as the brothers, his jetpack giving him the speed to do so, he didn't take the full brunt of the attack, but such a strong burst of fire, even with his Emergency Bolster reducing the damage, he hated the feeling of getting hit by fire. He folded his arms to guard the sphere on his chest. When it was over, he was about to respond with what he thought was reasonable force.
Seeing that Vee was above Gummy, Owen knew what he would do for his next attack. His fur smouldering, he gave a snarl as once again he aimed to spiral around Vee, preparing another Wild Onslaught. Only this time, he made sure that his jetpack was erupting flames at the same time, aiming for both Vee and Gummy. This combination of Jet Flamethrower and Wild Onslaught would aim to engulf both Vee and Gummy in a tornado of fire as Owen punched and kicked from all directions, then finally aimed to punch Vee directly downwards; if not into Gummy, then into the scorching flames of the field below.
The heat of the battle... the combat... already it was bringing back memories of Owen's worst days as a soldier of the DWR, but if he could get through those, he could get through this.
"You want to make it mon against mon, Gummy?" Owen asked, quizzically. "Vee throws in the towel. Then we'll fight."
Owen realizes something's up and uses Jetpack Flight to elevate himself to the same level as Gummy.
Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
Owen takes partial damage from Crimson Bollide, damage being reduced by 25% via Emergency Bolster. (Damage being partial because Owen flew above most of the directed attack, but still got scorched by its area-of-effect, plus its power).
Emergency Bolster's duration: 2/2 [ends]
Owen flies up to Vee and uses a combination of Wild Onslaught and Jet Flamethrower to attack him in a tornado of fire, also targeting Gummy below.
Micro Missiles Cooldown: 1/1 turns (ready). Howling Cannon Cooldown: 2/3 turns. Lunatic High Cooldown: 2/3 turns. Emergency Bolster Cooldown: 0/3 turns. Wild Onslaught Cooldown: 0/3 turns. Jet Flamethrower Cooldown: 0/1 turns.

If there was such a thing called a ‘dangerous lightshow’, then this was it. Like a volcano at the pinnacle of eruption, Gummy’s Crimson Bolide would envelope the entire cavern in a fiery landscape, with mid-size fire bullets razing the entire battlefield with flames, destroying any rock formations directly below him, as well as aiming the majority of it to Owen. As a safety precaution, Justice took some cover at a nearby rock structure, just in case if one of those flame bullets came his way “Twisted Mines will have to call itself Mustafar in a minute if this keeps up." Justice said to himself. Despite the sheer intensity of the attack, the twins gasped as Owen flew through the full brunt of the attack, though his fur was left smoldering as a result. They thought for sure he was going to be flying all over trying to dodge all those flame blasts. But no, here he was avoiding them like a badass. Now they knew it was time to get serious. The MachGaogamon’s reputation precedes him; he wasn’t called a legendary hero for nothing. Knowing that Owen was coming for him, Vee put his guard up, once again pushed back into the defensive position as his opponent prepared his Wild Onslaught yet again. Despite his attempts though, the MachGaogamon was simply a bit too fast for him since he was attacking from all angles. It didn’t help that he was using his jetpack in tatum with his barrage, trapping him and Gummy in a firenado, making the Arresterdramon unable to smack Owen dead in the face since the flames were too hot, so all Vee could do was endure the blows as best as he could As a result, he wouldn’t be able to avoid the final slam either, the impact hitting him square in the stomach, cracking his sphere, though not completely shattering it. He was sent crashing into Gummy, and both of them would fall into the scorching floor below. But, at the last second, Gummy quickly recovered and would open his arms to catch his older, yet slightly smaller older brother, planting his feet on the ground. He winced a bit in pain as the flames started to smolder the bottom of his feet, though not in the severity as most Digimon would react thanks to him having a resistance to fire. Owen then said that if the Arresterdramon Superior wanted to have a one-on-one fight, Vee would have to forfeit. He growled at the MachGaogamon fiercy. Vee picked himself back up, landing on the scorching ground for a moment before using his wings to levitate himself a couple feet in the air, with Gummy falling suit. He looked at the cracked sphere on Vee’s chest, his eyes showing a hint of concern. “Quit letting him get the one-up on you, bro! If not, I’ll eliminate you myself so I can deal with him. “Oh hush,” Vee added. “Do that and you’ll look even more like a hot-head that can’t think straight. Besides, your little mug will miss me backing you up."Gummy rolled his eyes in response. As much as he wanted to prove himself to Owen that Bezil was in favor of him, acting irrationally just because equal attention is not given to him might set themselves up for potential failure. He glanced up to Owen. “Pft.” He waved at him dismissively. “Tempting offer, but I think I'll past. After our previous match, mind games won't work on me."
Vee shook his head, agreeing. “Yeah! Want me to drop me out, you’ll have to do it yourself, if you can.”With the talking now over, it was time to get back to the action. Gummy would grab Vee by the arm with both hands, spinning him around rapidly until a mini whirlwind circulated around them as he ascended. Once getting up to Owen’s level and after gaining peak velocity, the Arresterdramon then threw the AreoVeedramon directly at Owen. This was the twin’s signature move when they were Rookies: throwing each other at the enemy except that this time, Gummy’s tail was no longer elastic when in this form. Channeling up his energy, Vee’s fist would once again become blazing with energy, though this would last for a moment until it vanished. Instead of attacking with Magum Crash, Vee would instead cast a blue aura around himself that took the silhouette of a dragon, attemping to trick Owen thinking he was about to punch him. He would vault over Owen, and then fire the aura at him. If it makes direct contact, Owen would not feel anything the aura would surround Owen for a few seconds before detonating, creating a massive explosion in its wake. Whether if Vee's attack work or not, Gummy would follow up with another Archivolt, but this time, aiming to slash at Owen's shoulder-the same shoulder in which Vee impacted earlier. Even though he had heal it up, it was best to reopen in back up. Combat Log:Vee is struck by the combination of both Wild Onslaught Jet Flame, unable to keep up with Owen's speed.
Gummy was also affected by the firenado Owen created, unable to attack Owen. The intensity created scotch marks around his armor. The final punch from Owen would send Vee crashing into Gummy, cracking his sphere in the process, but not destroying it.Gummy then quickly recovered from the tumble, catching Vee and lading on the fiery landscape, taking a bit of damage due to the scorching heat.Gummy spins Vee around rapidly, then launches him at Owen at high speeds.Vee at first charges his fist for a Magum Crash, but quickly launches Dragon Impulse instead, then vaulting over him, attempting to confuse him into thinking he was aiming to punch him.Dragon Impulse - Casts an aura around itself in the shape of a dragon, then fires it at the opponent. If caught, the attack surrounds the opponent for a few seconds then explodes, dealing massive amounts of damage to the surrounding area. Three post cooldown.
Gummy attacks Owen with Archivolt, aiming at his shoulder.Archivolt - Spins his Tail Anchor 360 degrees towards the opponent to skewer them. One post cooldown.
Combat Passive: Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.
Cooldown/s: "I'm Getting Excited": 1/3 +1 due to Owen's Howling Cannon Wind Guardian: 1/2 +1 due to Owen's Howling Cannon. Vee Wing Blade: 1/1; ready for use. Dragon Impulse: 0/3. Crimson Bolide: 1/3. Crimson Flare: 2/2; ready for use. Prism Garrett: 3/3; ready for use. Archivolt: 0/1.

Owen panted as he watched the effect of his onslaught. Yeah, he had taken some blows, but wasn't nearly close to giving up here. He had offered these terms as a means of changing the strategy of the battle too - if it was just him against Gummy, it would just be one attack against one. But they insisted that Vee would be a part of this two-on-one fight, so he would remain fighting the both of them. So be it.
"Alrighty then, looks like we'll do this the hard way." Owen replied, then assumed a battle stance in midair, ready for what the twins had in mind against him.
He would then watch them carefully, his cyber-enhanced senses able to track what they were doing in case any illusions were involved. But, it seemed, that Gummy was... throwing Vee like a hammer. Owen had learned long ago as a soldier to focus on where the enemy was focusing on, and more importantly, where they were not focusing on.
Therefore, once Owen had figured out what Gummy was doing, he would change position with his jets, aiming diagonally down so that he would position himself below them so that he would be 10 feet below Gummy. Since he doubted that Gummy intended to launch Vee into the flames below, Owen reasoned that he would not alter his aiming. This meant that he aimed to evade Vee's attempted attack at him, which he first suspected to be Magnum Crash, but then soon turned into the projectile Dragon Impulse.
Given that this was closely followed by Gummy aiming to double-in with the assault, as Owen by now had predicted the twins would use in their all-out attack strategy, Owen aimed to put a snag in that plan.
As the Dragon Impulse was hurtling toward him, Owen quickly judged the distance between himself, Vee and Gummy, then, as Gummy prepared his Archivolt attack, Owen would fly up, grab his tail, then use the thrust of his jetpack to swing him around instead of his tail. Alas, to do so, the blade at the end did succeed in slashing his shoulder, a price he would have to pay to make the timing right.
But to offset this, Owen would aim to swing Gummy instead in a circle so that he would be between himself and Vee as the Dragon Impulse closed in. And if Gummy attempted to break free, Owen would use his mechanical hand to grasp either Gummy's neck or the collar of his chest armor to hold him in position as the strike closed in.
Either way, once Vee's attack hit, Owen grunted in pain as the shockwave hit him, making him let go. But hopefully Gummy had taken the worst of it.
Regardless of how this turned out, Owen was really starting to respect these two as fighters. Sure, they were two-on-one, but they were proving to be just as challenging, if not more, as Ophelia was.
Still, he had confidence that he could win this. Twins or not. And he'd soon be ready to resume the offensive.
Owen doesn't use any named attack this round, but instead aims to catch Gummy unawares by grabbing his tail (after he is struck in the shoulder to ensure the right timing), then attempts to use the full thrust of his Jet Flight to swing Gummy around and make him take the full impact of Dragon Impulse instead, using one hand to hold his tail and the other hand to hold him in place, aiming to grip him by the neck or the collar of his armor. He is of course damaged as well in the area-of-effect.
Combat Passive Ability: Jetpack Flight - With his powerful jetpack, Owen has the ability to fly around the battlefield at high speed and with no limit to his fuel. Of course this means that when flying, he cannot be hit by melee attacks from digimon unable to fly.
