One interesting quirk about Adam's mind is its ability to focus on something, sometimes to the ignorance or exclusion of other stimuli or needs. Typically, this focus manifests as the ability to study a single subject to near mastery, though the things that capture Adam's attention are varied with no real connection. They can range from the methods to making a well liked and believable Kaiju in the sixties, to designing an aerodynamic paper airplane.

It's a small metal charm of an open book, with the word "Imagine" engraved into the pages.
Personality: Adam is, and always has been, too curious for his own good. He'll investigate anything that catches his attention until he fully understands it, to the point of ignoring other basic needs, like eating or sleeping. It worries some of the few friends this behavior hasn't distanced, and has lead to several misunderstandings. While worse in the past, his focus is now under better control thanks to a number of self-developed techniques Adam employs to keep his health from declining. However, this curiosity has lead him to neglect to study for his exams three times now, but he won't let that stop him from applying to the best school in the nation. He also is the kind of person who can't ignore someone else in need or danger, and got the scratch on his digivice from protecting someone else. Never the most social child, Adam spent most of elementary school isolated, and made his first friend in sixth grade, a one Aoi Tachibana. She was very outgoing and dragged Adam around all over town and to various clubs in school, forcing him to open up quite a bit. Once they got into High School, Adam found his passion for writing, and trouble found its way to get Adam involved. Every time someone was getting bullied, Adam happened to be walking by at the moment things were about to get violent. He never said whether this was intentional or not, but knowing his inability to leave well enough alone, he probably sought these fights out just to see how people would react. Beyond that, he got good grades when he studied, and terrible ones when he got distracted. At the behest of his best friend, Aoi, he's been pursuing his dream of writing. However, he wants to get into a top university, like Keio, and refuses to accept any lower institute. This has caused him a bit of setback, as he's been unable to pass the exams for his choices quite yet.
There's one incident Adam can't figure out in his life. It felt like an odd dream, with blurry images, but he was holding a silver toy. He would have written it off as a hallucination if he hadn't come back to his senses with an odd silver box with buttons and a screen on it in his hands. He's never gotten it to work, but he feels there must be some deeper mystery to it.

He speaks of his past battles like he was an unstoppable force, and because of this he takes any doubt of his abilities very personally. Thankfully there is some good to this, as any Digimon or person he views as weaker than himself he will protect without hesitation. Additionally, he seems to view himself as a kind of knight, and typically speaks of his General as a form of King, and his allies as Knights.
Personal History: It's impossible to tell if he's telling the truth, but Ascalaon says he used to be the protector of some village no one's heard of. According to him, he was killed by a group of villains who proceeded to lay waste to the town as he lay weakened and dying. He no longer remembers the name of the village, but he swears he was a great protector, one legends should have been written about.

This is not always the smart answer, but when Adam takes command of the fight, Ascalon follows orders easily, knowing his pride is in his ability to fight rather than being completely self-sufficient. He is also capable of laying traps and ambushes, but tends to find it not worthy of being proud of, so he has to be talked into fighting smarter rather than harder.
Abilities: Moon Shooter: Ascalon readies and fires a large Spike out of the holsters on his wrist at the enemy.
Spiking Strike: Ascalon extends both spikes past his hands, to attack or defend.

This range isn't very far, but it can detect some sneak attacks unless the opponent is moving at high speed. It can also be used to locate allies or moving objects within a radius. If he focuses outside of combat, he can find non-moving objects of interest, almost like sonar. The range does not increase with focus.
[Noncombat Passive] Flight: Those wings aren't just for show! Unfortunately, Ascalon cannot carry passengers.
Silk Wires: A leftover ability from his time as a Wormmon, Ascalon is capable of making silk strings from his fingertips. These can be stored for later, but after a day the threads will degrade enough to be broken by a light breeze. These come in a few varieties, and the stickiness can be changed to only affect certain parts of the silk. In combat, this can be used to attempt to tie up or immobilize opponents if used multiple times in a row. Ascalon's least favorite move.
