Recently there had been a string of disappearances around the Greater Shibuya area. What all of the missing people had in common was that they were men, and they all had disappeared under mysterious circumstances without leaving a trace, so there was definitely something fishy going on. What if this was the work of a rogue Digimon? Unfortunately, with the local Yakuza being in control of most of Shibuya’s eastern section, the police were powerless to conduct a thorough investigation. So, who better to solve this potentially dangerous case than a lone teenager who had a killer clown from another dimension at her beck and call!
Yuko prowled the streets with Jokermon by her side, disguised as the human ‘Jack White’ thanks to his Holo-Suit. This was a darker, seedier part of town, where the smell of trash wasn’t too uncommon. They were getting weird looks from various shady individuals, as if they were sizing them up for any valuable belongings worthy of stealing. Yuko wouldn’t have even considered venturing there at such a late hour if she didn’t have her partner with her to protect her in case someone tried to mug her. She might have been impulsive at times, but she didn’t have a death wish.
For the longest time, their search bore no fruit, as there were no supernatural happenings to indicate the presence of a rogue Digimon. That changed when the clock showed midnight, and the entire city block got enshrouded by an otherworldly mist. “Well, this definitely looks supernatural enough. Think it could be related to some kind of Digimon?” Yuko asked Jokah, reaching into her pocket for her Digivice just in case a fight broke out.
“Hmmm, I can’t sense any other Digimon nearby. This whole distortion just doesn’t feel very ‘digital’ to me.” The purple-suited humanoid hummed, examining the mysterious fog with keen interest.
Things took a turn for the weird when the scenery around them changed the further they walked into said distortion; The ground beneath their feet changed from concrete into a combination of dirt and stone, while the modern buildings surrounding them were replaced by old Japanese houses made of wood. “What the… Where the hell are we?” Much to the duo’s astonishment, they were seemingly no longer in 21st century Shibuya, but in what looked like a red light district from Edo-period Japan. Yuko and her disguised partner would look totally out of place in this setting with their modern clothes, if not for the fact that there wasn’t a single soul around to notice them. This looked like a ghost town, down to the spooky atmosphere, and a haunted voice that soon filled the streets.
“Kerakerakerakerakerakerakerakera!”
“Is that… cackling? Who’s there!” The young Tamer shouted, clutching her Digivice tightly as she looked around, trying to find the source of the annoying, echoing laughter.
As the mist cleared out, they saw a gigantic figure towering over one of the traditional buildings; A truly hideous middle-aged woman garbed in a set of extravagant kimonos, with her wrinkled face covered in an absurd amount of white makeup and her big lips slathered with red lipstick. “I’m Kerakera Onna, the youkai of pleasure! Kerakerakerakera!”
